-realizing they all had the same idea, they come up with a new plan together. They decide they're not only going to get you a plushie of your favourite character, but instead, they want to get all of the plushies released in this series

-they already know it's gonna be hell to actually get all of the plushies because people are already waiting to get into the store although it's an hour before opening time

-their new plan is that each of them will get two plushies. Noa will get Hello Kitty and Cinnamoroll, Chris will get MyMelody and Kuromi, Lavinho will get Pompompurin and Pochacco and Snuffy will get Batz-Maru and Keroppi (A/N: If your favourite character isn't in this, replace any character with your fav!)

-there are so many other people trying to get into the store right as it opens, there's no way the coaches can get in first so each of them is trying to come up with a strategy on how they can get to the plushies quickly

-sure, all four of them can run much faster than the average person, but if there's a crowd even that won't help them much

-as soon as the store opens, it's just pure chaos and they forget about their plans. They try to get to the plushie section as quickly as possible

-Chris gets stopped midway by fans and starts taking photos with them. Then more and more fans approach him and ask for photos, and he totally forgets about the plushies

-after like 10 minutes he suddenly remembers he's actually on a mission so in the middle of a photo he runs away and tries to get to the plushie section as quick as possible

-Lavinho thinks he figured out a way to get to the plushie section quicker, but then he ends up at the opposite side of the store and has to walk all the way back

-then he sees one of those security worker uniforms somewhere and he gets a silly idea and puts it on to pretend he works there so he can get to the plushies quicker

-Snuffy sees a child who lost their parents so he helps the kid get back to them before he continues his task to get the plushies

-but then Snuffy gets stuck in a conversation with the child's parents because they're super chatty and don't stop thanking him for getting their child back. Then they continue talking and talking and Snuffy can't get away because he doesn't want to seem impolite

-Noa was literally the only one who didn't get stopped in any way so when the others arrive at the plushie section he already got all of them. Not only the ones he was supposed to get, but he also got all eight plushies

i think part of why i find genuine enjoyment from some pieces of the sonic movies is just that i really like cute stuff. im one of those sanrio suckers who gets sucked into the adorable void of keroppi's giant eyeballs and all my money is gone. and movie sonic and knuckles and tails are all so huggable and cute and fuzzy looking

plus i dont really watch them to analyze them, which i guess makes me a Normie but they're the movie equivalent of junk food (which i 100% understand sonic fans being pissed off about ily guys, please keep on hating i love to read your perspectives, also fuck all the copaganda in these movies for real) in my eyes. o watch them to go ha somic so fuzzy and belly laugh at "hes my FRIEND" (so stupid) and skip over the way too long unfunny dance battle in the second one.

i guess the main reason i'm so fond of them is because i saw them with an irl friend to laugh at together, and movie 2 is what got me into sonic, but i saw the first one in theaters too - it was the last movie i saw before the pandemic. me and my friend were belly laughing in the theater but trying not to ruin it for the kids and FAILING btw. sorry to those kids. but these movies are unintentionally hilarious sometimes. and whenever i see stuff about them i remember watching them with my lovely friend who is still one of the few irl friends i have that isnt related to me. so i have really good memories attached to them

my animal crossing island might be named after onisister but there is another team in my heart. so i spent a normal amount of hours designing a ryuseitai-themed upstairs for kid cat in hhp

first off, the centerpiece of the whole room, the media center. they dont all get to gather in the a/v room like last year so they get this.

behind the projector is a patchwork sofa chair in the 'leaves' colorway, which combines with the loveseat, the cushion, and the barstool to form the seating arrangements. its not actually a hard and fast arrangement, chiaki radiates heat which kanata can only stand for so long, so he'll switch with one of the juniors or just kick chiaki off the couch entirely if feeling particularly puckish.

also visible here is the sushi on the kitchenette, the fries and basil-y tomato-y pizza margherita on the coffee table, and the "galbi" (carpaccio di marlin blu) and "hyorogan" (coconut cookies, i couldnt find anything that looked like shinobus actual favorite food, umeboshi. i think if i had cherry jam? closest legal relative, but still more of a stretch than the coconut cookie-hyorogan stretch. like, hyorogan does actually look like that.)

also the middle thing on the wall there is a switch lite, because im not sure how much of a gamer shinobu is but i know he was really excited when he learned hasumi-dono knew about p*kemon....

midori! this is an awkward photo. i dont actually very much sanrio furniture despite having the cards, otherwise i wouldve used it more here, im too lazy to scan them in. otherwise the posters of the sanrio villagers would be on the wall next to jack, who stands at the precipice of midori's chill out zone to scare off chiaki, which otherwise contains nothing but plushies, a futon to take a depression nap on, and a tv to secretly enjoy things on (which is apple shaped because midori is the produce boy).

and then across the doorway is

see, this is a much larger space, i couldve used fewer tiles, but because i wasnt trying to replicate a set like i was for the crazy anthem one, i was actually minding the doors and windows of the space.

ok so the. the cross-stitch. ok. i thought there was like a folding fan or some framed embroidery or something, but there is NOT, so. tetora's prized gift from his beloved taishou is. cross stitch (cock (manly)).

this is another area which is mostly self-explanatory. the thing next to the basketball is a pile of model kits, no idea if chiaki actually does those, but it is more toku merch, so.

the picture frame in the shelves is a customizable thing and i didnt vibe with any of the options so thats a. custom design i made to spice up my beaches. its transparent, so. lets just call it a shadow box displaying a shell chiaki recieved as a gift or something.

also theyre like switching leaders every project now but you see that stack of papers? you know whos probably doing like, the most of the paperwork. probably wont even let anyone else do it even if they ask. what paperwork. theres barely any paperwork theres no paperwork what are you talking about.

So with the announcement of the reprint of the Sanrio amiibos, I realized that I wasn’t quite sure which Sanrio character was my favorites. When I was trying to decide which of the Sanrio fans I would invite to my island, I decided to look up information on each one. And I figured, why not share the information I found? (Disclaimer, I’m having my browser automatically translate these from Japanese to English, so pronouns and written perspectives shift.)

Hello Kitty 1974

Height is 5 apples. Weight is equivalent to 3 apples. A bright and gentle girl. I love making cookies and playing the piano, and my dream is to be a pianist or a poet. Good at music and English. My favorite food is apple pie made by my mom. He is a good friend of his twin sister, Mimmy.

Birthday: November 1st

So, five apples is roughly two feet (61 cm) and between baking, playing piano and just being a generally kind person, Hello Kitty is the definition of “goodest girl”. Also, I thought I read somewhere a while back that her name is actually Katie? I dunno.

My Melody 1975

A younger brother who is fresh and cheerful. The treasure is a cute hood made by my grandma. I like to bake cookies with my mom, and my favorite food is almond pound cake.

Birthday: January 18th

She’s born the day after my sister! There isn’t a height for her, but she’s really cute. The majority of other sources says that My Melody is a girl? But even if they’re a boy, they have an adorable aesthetic.

Little Twin Stars 1975

Twin siblings born of the dream star of the Dream Nebula. I came from a distant star country to become a magnificently shining star. My sister Lara is scared and a little crybaby. I feel like these two embodiment of the Lolita fashion style. I honestly didn’t know that they had names, but then again, I didn’t know they were actually Sanrio characters until recently. Also, they’re born on Christmas Eve!

I love adventure and I'm full of energy! A popular person in the donut pond. Keroppi, Pikki, and three siblings. I'm not good at swimming frogs, and I'm good at crawling. A frog man who is good at singing. The family is the father of a doctor at "Hasunoue Clinic". A mother who is good at cooking and has a restaurant. A beautiful girl who likes climbing trees and cooking. A hard worker and a hobby of playing with machines, he looks just like Keroppi and his younger brother Koroppi. I live in "Kerokero House" on the island of Donut Pond.

Birthday: July 10th

I had a babysitter who really liked Keroppi, but besides that I never knew much about him. Can we just take a moment to appreciate that he lives in a place called “Donut Pond”? For those who don’t know “kero” is the Japanese onomatopoeia for a frog croak.

Cinnamoroll 2001

A white puppy boy born on a cloud in the distant sky. One day, a fluffy flight from the sky was found by the older sister of "Cafe Cinnamon" and she decided to live with her. The tail is rolled up like a cinnamon roll, so ask them to give it the name "cinnamon". Currently, he is active as a signboard dog in a cafe. His special skill is to fly with his big ears fluttering. It's quiet, but it's very friendly and sometimes I fall asleep on the lap of the customer.

Birthday: March 6th

This 100% threw me for a loop. I had seen Cinnamoroll a lot, but I didn’t know ANYTHING. I didn’t know he was male, I didn’t know he was a dog, I knew NOTHING. But something about this floppy eared pupper won me over. He’s just... he’s too cute.

Pompompurin 1996

A golden retriever man with a dark brown beret as a trademark. At a leisurely shop, my favorite word is "going out" and my disliked word is "orsuban". My hobby is collecting shoes. The owner's father's leather shoes, mother's sandals, etc. are secretly hidden one by one. I like milk, fluffy stuff, and pudding made by mom. His special skills are naps and pudding exercises. To get along with anyone. My dream for the future is to be even bigger. The pudding basket at the entrance of the owner's sister's house is the house.

Birthday: April 16th, sunny day

I don’t much care for Pompom; not because he’s not cute, but because he reminds me of that... pudding stuff from Japan... Is it pudding? Anyway, it’s like a custard pudding thing and I just... It’s not like I don’t empathize with him. I love milk, fluffy stuff and I enjoy naps.

Rilla, the Hello Kitty fan, is a peppy gorilla born on November 1st. Her favorite color is red and her favorite style is cute. Honestly, I think she’s the first villager I’ve seen with pierced ears. More power to you, girl.

Chelsea, the My Melody fan, is a normal deer born on January 18th. Her favorite color is pink and her favorite style is cute. I literally thought her headband was just a copy of the bunny ears you can get through the Able Sisters, but whatever.

Étoile (pronounced i-too-all-eh and translates into Star), the Little Twin Star fan, is a normal sheep born on December 24th. Like Chelsea, her favorite color is pink and her favorite style is cute. She seems like someone who you’d go pour your heart out to and she’d give you some hot chocolate.

Toby, the Keroppi fan, is a smug rabbit born on July 10th. His favorite color is green and his favorite style is cute. I was kind of surprised by how he looks, it seemed like the most neutral of all the Sanrio villagers.

Chai, the Cinnamoroll fan, is a peppy elephant born on March 6th. Her favorite color isn’t stated (though my guess would be teal or blue) and her favorite style is cute. I really like her design, and if it weren’t for the fact that I already have three peppy villagers on my island, I’d move her in too.

Marty, the Pompompurin fan, is a lazy cub born on April 16th. His favorite color is yellow, and his favorite style is sporty. He is very cute and seems very sweet, and if I didn’t have Bob, I’d have Marty on my island.

Part of why I posted this was to share info about the Sanrio characters, but also to give fellow players a leg up on getting portraits. If you give a villager stuff that is in their favorite color and/or style, your friend points go up slightly more than if you just gave them random stuff. On apps like ACNH.Guide, the information on what a character likes can be easily found. While it’s not currently up, I imagine when the Sanrio cards are sold, the info will be updated.

starting with the one that started it all;

cassandra cain would love chococat. i imagine she thinks he’s really cute and silly.

jason todd definitely likes badtz-maru in front of everyone... but he actually really likes my melody and aggretsuko. he strikes me as one of those people who really likes cute things but doesn’t tell anyone. i think in general though... jason would enjoy any sanrio character.

tim drake probably likes keroppi . no big explanation it just makes sense to my brain! he might like gudetama too

damian wayne would love them all .. he shows no bias he genuinely loves them all equally

dick grayson would LOVE pochacco. i think the athletic little dog fits him the best! plus pochacco is super cute

stephanie brown would love yoshikitty and kuromi i think!

alfred pennyworth would like tuxedo sam and its very cute

i think bruce wayne loves them all like damian. but i also think hes a hello kitty fan. he likes the classics... ?

Picked up one of these for cheap since theyve been cheap at Target for ages. Not a huge Sanrio fan, but I do love Keroppi... hope he cameos in this. Also one of the mini games is a call back to Hello Kitty World on the NES ( AKA Balloon Kid for the gameboy, the sequel to Balloon Fight, but with a Sanrio reskin )

Never had a Tama Nano before, it's so tiny and cute. Also the sound and screen is much more pleasant than the OG Tamagotchi reprints. I just wish the screen wasnt so deep set into the device due to the Shadow it casts.

its funny that u mention sanrio characters bc i was just recently thinking abt drawing humanizations of some of them :0... but i think they would be a fan of keroppi mostly but also maybe pompompurin cause hes a silly puppy! and i havent seen any ghibli movies aside from grave of the fireflies so idk if i’d be the best judge... but from what i know i think ponyo or howl’s moving castle remind me of them the most :)!

i’ve been doing better emotionally for the past days. i’ve been catching up on schoolwork (which is neverending i swear). but im going to the vet today🥲🥲 bc one of my cats scratched (i guess) one of my other cats in the face and caught her eye and i guess that they might’ve scratched her cornea or something. and im kinda scared for that. it doesn’t seem to be too bad but we don’t want to risk it getting worse and her losing vision or anything bc i’ll literally die.

ahh the hanji magic school pc though!! he’s the absolute cutiest!! and the fact that you got a mini quokka too that’s so nice💜 i really wanted to order a skzoo from this fan meet too but after the Tofu (cat) incident i don’t think i can (but it’s totes fine bc i’ll do anything for my babies forever).

OH NOOOOO sending all my love to Tofu :((( one of my cats did the same thing shortly after I moved out of my parents’ house and she had a really badly scratched and swollen eye and she needed antibiotic eye drops for a little while, I think it took maybe a month before her eye fully looked better but it was so so hard seeing her like that ☹️💔💔 sending Tofu all my love!!!! That’s so unfortunate ☹️
