Ghost in the graveyard au
inspired by this song.
Tumblr media
Nightmare is a little ghost that lives in the cemetery just outside of town. tends too stay in the older part which has been basically turned into a forest. he can't leave the cemetery nor can most people see him other than just glimpses out of the corner of their eyes. Enough though that he is a bit of a local legend. since he isn't from this au no one really knows who he is or was. he's haunted the cemetery for several centuries.
Tumblr media
eventually Dust ends up finding Him. Dust can see Nightmare easily, he would hang out in the graveyard because it is very quiet and quite peaceful. the forest area is also very pretty.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For Dust it's almost like having his brother back And for nightmare he gets an older brother figure and friend.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The rest of the gang's there too. Killer has his priorities. The gang was each offered this place too live if they promised too try and be better. (also Blue had promised too get supplies to horrortale). So now Horror, Dust, and Killer live in this house in a small (ish) town in an au where monsters where never sent underground and things where pretty peaceful. a regular surface au would still have humans getting used too monsters. And with a group such as the gang that might not end well for either party. they also get therapy so yay :D plus Killer discovers the wonders of mariokart.

CHAPTER 18 - FLASHBACK: NINE
Nights turn into years.
The Scouts, to your surprise, take you in as their own.
They don’t question the nature of your connection with Captain Levi.
They don’t even ask about your time in the Underground City.
All they’re curious about is the now — the living, present air that surrounds you; the sun that's finally giving your skin a healthy glow; the comradery that’s kept this group alive longer than any of the Interior betting pools imagined.
Together.
That isn’t to say living with the Scout Regiment has been a breeze.
The surface is almost just as tough as living in the Underground but with more light. Fighting titans is difficult and all-around terrifying, but the Special Operations unit is an otherworldly beast fit to take them on.
At the lead of Commander Erwin and the collaboration between Levi and yourself following close behind, there are more victories in bringing people back to their families than catastrophic losses in numbers.
In terms of discovery, however, the Scouts are lacking in their mission to find anything substantial:
The villages still crawl with titans.
Breaching the forest in order to continue forward proves to be a point of no return Erwin can’t figure out by strategy alone.
The injured trek back to the Walls is always humbling. Over and over, you’re expected to deliver new information to the desperate — and oftentimes ungrateful — people behind the Walls.
They berate you in the streets, throwing food rations and calling you and the other good-for-nothing Scouts crude names.
You’re taught early to ignore it.
(You aren’t willing to explain to Petra and the others that you and Levi have dealt with much worse at much younger ages.)
Anyone with the Wings of Freedom quickly becomes a communal punching bag, but at least no one dies.
Maybe the runts of the litter get eaten — maybe the cocky ones perish, the reckless ones break their necks, the terrified ones kill themselves — but at least no one you know dies.
(You’re okay with not discovering what’s beyond the forest, if it means none of the Special Operations squad dies.)
It isn’t long before you’re introduced to someone who becomes a constant in your life:
Hange Zoe, Section Commander — Levi’s first friend in the Survey Corps.
And, as it stands, they seem pretty hellbent on becoming yours, too.
Hange is a wild-haired, glasses-wearing individual that prides themself on their extensive titan knowledge.
Just like Levi, they stumbled head-first into your life and never left.
They appears one foggy afternoon a few months into your Scout Regiment career. Their first day to headquarters was a memorable one.
You never anticipated the sheer amount of words that could come out of one person’s mouth. One lengthy monologue after the next, Hange caught you up to speed on the titan research program — whether you cared or not.
The Special Operations team was more than happy to trap you with Hange at the mess room table for hours so that they could be spared.
(According to Gunther, enduring their rants is just considered Special Ops hazing.)
Jokes on them: you were happy to listen, because Hange reminds you so much of Isabel.
It’s bittersweet, sharing meals and traveling with someone just as excited about the world as your young friend had been. They marvel at the little things that surround them, their smile as joyous and free as the late redhead that you once shared a cramped Underground City bedroom with.
Hange acts as though they’d known you their entire life.
They treat you as if you’d always been a friend, a very good friend, and you don’t shy from kindness the way Levi does.
Levi, on the other hand, acts like a malevolent cat in their presence, but Hange takes it in stride.
You know Levi well enough to know it’s all an act — Hange is just as much his favorite within the Scouts as they are yours.
You’re not one to believe in fate, but many a night staying up talking to Hange about a future they see feels like your life, this strange life, was meant to be.
That, through the comradery of the Scouts, you can learn to trust again, to laugh again, to reinvent yourself again — and not hang onto Levi’s every movement like his shadow.
You create your own space within the Special Operations squad; one where you are praised for your quick thinking, ODM maneuvering, and fearlessness in battle.
You grow your own friendships.
Hardships.
Inside jokes.
Celebrations.
Bonds forged by strength and by trauma.
(Your own shadow.)
“Oi, where’s Levi?”
You had been busy reading reports in your former bunk room, now morphed and redecorated into your Lieutenant’s quarters.
It’d been a few hours since the last short-term mission ended — you had nearly gotten your ass handed to you by an eight-meter titan with a particularly animated body. Where most titans walk slowly, aimlessly, this one had a frenzied mission. A desire to run.
According to Hange, they're calling them Abnormals.
They’re a new type of nightmare that only keep showing up more and more every trip outside the Walls.
“Hello, earth to James,” Hange sing-songs as they wander in.
You glance up, distracted.
“Hmm? Where’s Levi?” you repeat. “I don’t know, why?”
“Because you two always have a sixth sense on where the other is,” Hange reasons, flopping down in the chair across from you. “It’s freaky.”
“The person who talks to titans is calling me freaky?” you ask with a smirk playing on your lips.
“That’s when you know it’s the truth,” they reply, not skipping a beat. “What is that whole thing about, anyway?”
“What?”
“Sorry, let me rephrase. I never asked: Levi came into the Scouts, right? In all his grumpy glory. Then two months later, you joined us.”
You squint as a response to Hange’s presented puzzle.
“That guy is a hard nut to crack. You must have some kind of special sauce to get him to trust you so fast. Unless…”
The others still don’t know.
Well, they know — they know Levi is incredibly protective of you.
They know you look to his guidance before anyone else.
They know the two of you often disappear to spar.
(Surely they must know where you are almost every night but are too afraid to speak up. It doesn't hinder Scouting missions in the morning.)
“We knew each other before the Scouts,” you finally confess, and Hange’s eyes blow wide with the validation.
“I knew it,” they tell you, snapping their fingers. “The Underground City, right?”
You nod, folding the map in two. “Kids that grow up there stick together.”
The shift in Hange’s expression is almost comical, bordering on conspiratorial.
“Ah-ha. So you two have been fighting alongside one another for a long time. This puts my theory of a weird cranial connection to bed. It’s just childhood friendship.”
You have to try not to smirk. “Yup, just that. No conspiracies needed.”
“Well, that’s one mystery down.” They gesture to their bare neck with their index finger. “I’m still trying to figure out the deal with that, though.”
“Huh?”
“You know, the deal.” They lean over the table to blatantly point at the silver necklace peeking out of your button-down ivory shirt, its pendant sitting against your sternum. “With. That.”
Right.
The necklace you never took off. The necklace you care for with a delicate touch. The necklace that you sleep in, bathe in, fight in.
“It’s just a necklace.”
“Sure.” Their glasses slide down the bridge of their nose. “Just a necklace.”
You laugh, turning your report face down on the table. “Sounds like you don’t believe me.”
“I don’t.” Hange smirks. “I’m supposed to be observant, remember? Well, I have deduced in my observations—”
“Ooh, a deduction,” you tease.
“—that it has importance. So what gives? Does that have something to do with a certain someone?”
Too close to him.
You roll your eyes, sliding your hands from the table’s surface to lean back in the wooden chair.
“How come you wanna know about it so bad, then, if it’s just a necklace?”
“I said it isn’t just—”
“Uh-huh.”
“Oh, now you’re twisting my words.”
“And you’re about to lose your glasses,” you tell them, and they push the center up their nose in short defiance. “What’s the reason you’re so interested all of a sudden?”
Hange groans in the pale torch light, sliding down into their seat in dramatized agony. “Be-cause I saw a titan almost snap that thing in half and you went totally berserk.”
“So?”
“So! I saw how fast you sliced that thing up!” Hange chuckles. “Like you had a personal vendetta against the damn thing. That was supposed to be my new test subject, y’know.”
You chuckle low, burying your chin in the mouth of the emerald green cape around your shoulders. Under the fabric you hold the tiny gemstone, running it between your fingers with admiration.
“Titans should learn not to touch my shit, then.”
“Hey, shitheads.”
The deep voice makes you sit taller, lips parted with a greeting that never quite comes to fruition.
Hange stays hunched over the table as Levi steps into the room. His hand grips tightly around the circumference of a steaming tea cup.
“Hey, Levi,” Hange greets in return. “James was just telling me all about how you two knew each other before the Scouts.”
Levi shoots you a look, and your brow quirks. Nothing too big. His shoulders relax a fraction of an inch.
“Did you tell Four Eyes how I used to always win at spars?” He drops down in a seat at the table, draping his arm over the back.
“I would never lie to poor Hange like that.”
“It wouldn’t be a lie.”
“Would, too.” You gesture to Hange. “Section Commander, would you believe me if I said he won every fight?”
Hange squints. “I’d have to observe for myself.”
Levi smirks, his lips covered by the tea cup.
You groan, leaning over the table to plead your case. “Hange, you’re supposed to say yes.”
“Not without proper evidence!” Hange refutes.
You scoff. “Some friend you are.”
“See, Levi? She said I’m a friend,” Hange adds, pointing to you. They lean back. “One day you’re going to say the same thing.”
Levi snorts. “Sure, when I’m shitting myself dead.”
Hange squints at the raven-haired man. “Why is it always shit jokes with—”
“James.”
It’s neither Hange or Levi that says your name.
You turn to see Eld standing at the doorway of the kitchen.
He seems… uncertain of how to approach your bedroom despite how the door is already open for wandering company.
He shifts in his stance, clearing his throat.
“Commander Erwin wanted to speak with you,” Eld informs you, eyes flickering over your face.
The smile you have from your conversation with Hange begins to slowly fall.
“Something up?” Hange asks.
Eld ignores them, staring at you instead.
You turn your chin to Levi, but the captain doesn’t react. He continues sipping his tea in silence.
“Now?” you ask.
“Now,” he confirms.
You catch Hange’s eyes before pushing the chair out. “Alright, fine.”
It isn’t like Erwin to summon people, much less you. If he has something to say, he usually does so by seeking out the person in question himself.
Sending Eld only means that he may be discussing matters with the rest of the Levi Squad on an individualized basis.
Maybe it’s to debrief from the short mission a few hours ago.
Maybe he’s looking for counsel on the strategy map you’d been pouring over before Hange and Levi swung by.
Whatever it is, it doesn’t leave you with a great feeling in your gut.
Up the stairs and down a narrow corridor sits Erwin Smith’s office. He has the door slightly ajar, the room illuminated solely by half-lit candles.
You knock your knuckles against the wooden slab.
“Commander?”
Erwin is sitting at his desk with pages of letters, diagrams, and what you presume to be Hange’s crude drawings of the titans they had captured three months prior. His dark emerald trench coat hangs loosely from the chair’s back.
His piercing blue eyes lift, staring straight at you.
“Come in, Lieutenant.”
You were never a fan when he called you that.
Lieutenant — it was a fake title to keep the masses from ever questioning your spot on the Special Operations squad, same with Levi.
Citizens never questioned it. Military Police, however, were never a fan.
Yet when Erwin said it, it always followed with something you wouldn’t enjoy hearing. Like you were being chastised for something before you knew the crime you’d committed.
“Is something the matter?”
“Not explicitly, no,” Erwin tells you, dropping his gaze to his papers briefly before glancing back up. “Close the door, please.”
Great.
Something was wrong.
You roll your eyes, closing the door. Your back stays pressed against it, arms crossed over your chest.
Maybe Levi became close with Erwin throughout the years, acting as his right-hand man through the thick of battle, but you had no interest in crowding his flank.
You didn’t like the method to Commander Erwin’s madness. It often went to great lengths at the cost of others; casualties be damned so long as the mission was successful.
You’re certain that’s why the public hates all of you.
Erwin, however, does not cater to the public’s opinion of himself, not when he can keep pushing towards the forest no one can quite yet conquer.
“I need you to be honest with me, Lieutenant,” he sighs, pushing his papers to the side.
You quirk a brow, staying put against the door. “I didn’t eat the rest of the potatoes, if that’s what you’re about to accuse me of.”
The blonde smirks, albeit briefly. “No, it has nothing to do with food rations.”
For a moment, the two of you stare each other down. You clench your jaw and neutralize your expression as he tries to decipher you well before the inquiry is asked.
It’s a game of mental chess.
You won’t give him the satis—
“Lieutenant, what is your connection to Captain Levi?”
You pause.
This question sounds like a layered spring trap — step too close with a simple answer and Erwin has the potential to drown your words in assumptions and claims.
Your heart beats a little faster.
“You already know my connection to Captain Levi, sir.”
“You don’t need to sir me,” Erwin says, like the casual coolness of the statement will somehow ease the tension cinching your shoulder blades together. “And I never heard it from you, not directly.”
“Because you stuck my face in some mud and talked over me the day you made me think my business partners were dead,” you reply with little tact.
Erwin can’t help but smile at the snip. It’s annoying how he takes everything in stride.
“Yes. I didn’t give you much choice to explain yourself then, so I will ask you now.”
He locks eyes, and you can’t escape.
“What is he to you?”
Everything stills.
You don’t like where this is headed.
Although you spent plenty of nights in Levi’s bedroom, sometimes even switching it up to linger in yours, you both had been so careful to keep the relationship out of sight and out of mind.
You clench your jaw tighter. “Levi Ackerman is my former business partner, just the same as Isobel Magnolia and Furlan Church.”
“And?”
“And?” your brows knit. “And he is… a friend. Family.”
“A very close friend,” he surmises with a thick brow raised in question. “One you would move mountains to protect, yes? Even if you could not be beside him?”
The implications of his words instantly make you distrust the Commander’s intentions with this conversation.
While you feel close with the Scouts within the Special Ops squad, there is no mistake to be made: only one name rings true as your top priority.
And it isn’t Erwin. It isn’t Hange. It isn’t Petra, or Oluo, or Eld, or Gunther.
Fear grips your heart.
Like a cornered animal, you speak out of turn.
“Are you implying you have a plan to split us up?”
To move you to another squad.
It’s the first idea that pops into your panicked brain.
A captain and a lieutenant on one team didn’t really ring fair — not when you could lead up your own squad.
You don’t want to.
“Is that what this is? To gauge whether or not I’d be willing to transfer? To finally move me to some other squad so I can lead alongside Levi Squad?”
“No.”
“Because if the intent of this question on whether or not I would hurt someone that would try to separate us, Commander, then you are sorely mistaken to think that I would be alright with—”
“James,” Erwin coos, voice deceiving soft when he lifts a palm. “I have no intentions to separate or reorganize Levi Squad.”
You realize what you just blurted.
What you’ve revealed.
You gave him all of your cards, tossing them clear to the desk in front of you.
Fuck.
You close your mouth, afraid you’ve done something horrible wrong.
Erwin gives no sign of winning the upper hand in his expression. He does, however, keep his brow gentle.
“Something new came to my attention while you were on your mission,” he tells you with purpose in an effort to calm the tension in the room. “An opportunity to navigate the forest in full with the potential to eliminate the predicted death rate. Eighty percent to forty. Slashed in half.”
You stare, choosing your next words very carefully.
“The forest is untouchable.”
“It is.”
“The last strategy didn’t work.”
“I know, Lieutenant.” He leans back in his chair. “It’s a risky mission. One that requires the best Scouts I have at my disposal. I believe, if we use my new formation, then we can pierce through the forest and find our way on the other side.”
You try to connect the dots eons away from one another.
If Erwin wanted to give you a job, then why didn’t he just say it?
“...you know I’m willing to go, Commander,” you tell him, brows knit.
“I know you would be,” he replies, “but Captain Levi is not willing to take that risk.”
Your blood runs cold.
What?
Your chin juts abruptly to the left, head tilting as you try to process what he’s saying between the lines.
He knew you would say yes to the risky mission. You’re happy to take the risky missions.
But Captain Levi…
“What does Levi have to do with this?” you ask before you can help yourself.
“Levi came up with the strategy to breach the forest in conjunction with my formation, but he requested that I not allow you to join us.”
Erwin rests his palms against his ribcage, lacing his fingers together. He sighs through his nose, contemplating.
“You see, now, why I wanted to know what your relations were to him.”
That ice-cold stream in your veins quickly shifts to molten.
He went behind your back?
“Levi wouldn’t do that,” you murmur, but you're not certain when you speak.
(Because it wouldn’t be the first time, you realize; deep in your gut.)
“He did,” Erwin corrects. “He has. An hour ago, to be exact.”
While you were talking to Hange?
“I’m good for the mission, Erwin,” you tell him, using his first name despite how you feel about familiarity with him.
“I know you are, James,” he replies with less formality. “And I’m willing to bypass Levi’s wishes if you want to join us on the expedition beyond the forest.”
Your mouth dries up.
Everything feels… nauseating.
There is a betrayal festering in your belly, one you cannot ignore in front of Erwin.
You have to go.
You have to find Levi.
“Permission to be excused?” you abruptly request. “I think I need to speak with Captain Levi myself, but rest assured I am going on that expedition.”
“Excused, Lieutenant,” he signs off, staying seated.
You never rip open a door so fast in your life.
Your boots echo down the corridor, face hot with embarrassment and worry.
Why would he tell Erwin not to let you go?
Why would he do that behind your back?
You round the corner, headed straight for his bedroom. When your hand jiggles the knob, it’s locked shut.
Then you continue further down the hall to the next room on the opposite end.
Your room.
Levi continues to sip tea slowly at your table, reading over the map you had folded up with mild interest.
Hange is nowhere to be found.
Good. It’s easier if they’re gone.
“Ackerman.”
The abruptness of his last name has him as still as a statue.
Only his gray eyes flicker up past the cup, pausing in his sip. Your lip curls as you force the words out of your mouth.
“We’re sparring.”
Levi sets his tea up on the tiny saucer below. “Excuse me?”
“I said we’re going outside and fucking sparring, Captain,” you snarl. “Let’s go.”
Because you can’t yell at him.
Not here, not when there’s a possible audience in the echoing hallways.
You hear the wooden chair scrape across the floor, and slow boots step out into the hallway with you. You don’t look back.
Down the stairs, around the foyer, and out of the headquarter entrance you go — with every step, the more upset you get.
“This night has gotten dramatic,” he calls to you once he reaches the mouth of the sparring ring. “What did Erwin have to say?”
You turn on the heel of your boot, remaining silent.
You want him to say it first. To confess.
(You want him to prove that Erwin is lying.)
He doesn’t.
He just waits, infuriatingly patient.
“You know what Erwin had to say,” you seethe. “How could you?”
He blinks twice, inhaling slowly through his nose.
Then, he shrugs off his uniform jacket and hangs it by a nearby tree branch. He rolls up his sleeves to his elbows.
“I need you to make sure Hange doesn’t get eaten by their next test subject," he flatly explains.
“Oh, so we lie to each other now?” you ask. In a cascade of pops to your left hand, you crack your knuckles.
“James—”
Too late.
You throw the first punch, and he dodges it easily. His gaze hardens.
“Sloppy,” he comments.
Hurting Levi isn't your goal, but you don't know what else to do with this rage. This is the only way you can properly express the uncertainty festering in your belly.
Levi gets that.
He doesn't judge that.
To quell your budding panic attack, he'll easily deflect your advancements and tire you out.
(He's the only one. He's always been the only one.)
“You have some fucking nerve," you bite, nostrils flaring. "You wanna know what he asked me before he told me about your little forest plan?”
You kick him, and it happens to land.
You’re fairly certain he gave you a freebie.
His brow quirks, so you continue.
“Erwin asked me what we were.”
That seems to pause his defense, though he easily pushes away your next punch.
“And?”
“I told him we fuck.” The whites of Levi’s eyes grow. “Every single night under everyone’s noses — on every surface of his precious little headquarters —”
“You didn’t.”
“Yeah, asshole, I didn’t. I’m lying. Kind of like you lied right to my face.”
“I didn’t lie to you about the plan.” Levi throws a half-hearted punch for good measure. You deflect. "Can't lie if I didn't tell you about it."
“Shut — up.” You snap, throwing another hard hook at him.
Like lightning, he deflects. When he grabs your wrist, you struggle to rip your arm out of his grip. Levi drags you into his chest, keeping you trapped against him, the air heavy between you.
Panting through your nose, you work through your fury and hurt by staring him down.
“I’m going.”
His eyes narrow. “No.”
“What the fuck has you so scared, Levi?” you beg, and he falters for a moment. “We promised we’d be at each other’s sides, so what gives?”
Levi considers your words, searching your face. He keeps the mask up, not allowing you in — which hurts.
“You saw one today, right?” he murmurs, low and dangerous. “An Abnormal.”
The creature's wild, deranged grin still lingers in your mind’s eyes. How it ran at you on all fours, unlike any titan you’ve ever seen before. It was terrifying, but you don’t have to tell him that.
He's seen them, too.
“According to our intel, that place is crawling with Abnormals. The forest floor is a suicide pit. That’s why we can’t push on.”
“So?”
“So?” His brows knit. “If we push in, then that means they may run the other way. They may sense we have a titan held captive here. I need you to stay with Hange and Moblit while they experiment on that freak to make sure they’re safe.”
Deja Vu hits you.
“I’m going,” you robotically repeat as you work through why this feels so familiar.
“You’re not, I — did you not just listen to me, shithead?”
“I’m going,” you repeat once more, convincing yourself more than him.
Levi eases up on your wrist, panting.
"This is a waste of time.”
He pushes you away and turns a heel, heading back towards headquarters.
“Hey," you murmur.
The abrupt jolt of violence is what you need to wake up: to realize you’ve had this conversation before.
“Hey! I’m talking to you!” you shout after him.
He doesn’t look back.
A humorless laugh leaves your mouth before you launch into your final plea.
“You’re always so quick to walk the fuck away.”
That gets him to stop.
His eyes, wide with his own budding fury, stare back at you, so you continue to speak.
“The second you think my life is in danger, you shut me out. It's textbook Levi. You stop thinking of me as a viable teammate and more like someone you should babysit.”
Levi’s nostrils flare. “James.”
“No, you listen to me, you piece of shit,” you angrily snap. “You sidelined me back in the Underground City on our last job, and look what happened. It failed. We lost everything. You got taken to the Scouts. Isabel and Furlan died.”
“Stop.”
“Countless times you’ve chosen Eld and Gunther to join you on camp watch when we’re beyond the Walls. You’ve never once asked me to take the hard watches.”
“I was avoiding the look of favoritism,” he growls, gritting his teeth.
You keep going with a small, humorless laugh. “Oh, I see right fucking through you, Levi Ackerman. The countless times you’ve put me with Petra or Oluo? With Hange and Moblit? What’s the excuse you always, always, use?”
He turns his cheek, but you push your hand against his face to turn him back to you.
“Protection, that’s right. I have to protect people. I always have to fucking protect everyone while you play martyr. Humanity’s Strongest, right?”
His eyes turn to slivers of anger. “Don’t.”
“That’s what they’re calling you behind the Walls," you mock. "Captain Levi, Humanity’s Strongest Soldier, always willing to do the hard shit. You don’t give a damn that I’m worried sick over not having your back. It's only about your fears, never mine. Now you’re escalating it to, what, forbidding me to go on missions with you, too?”
“You fought an Abnormal for the first time today,” he quickly argues back, under his breath to keep control of his volume. “What did you say in your report? An eight-meter titan almost got you? You were lucky to escape, right?”
You can’t help but scowl. “Yes, but—”
“But, what?" he challenges with a hiss. "You wanna go back out to the den where they all shit together? Was one not enough for you today?”
“That’s what Scouts do, Levi,” you argue, rounding him as he starts to walk away again. You walk backwards, keeping in time with his steps. “We know the risks.”
“You’re not going.”
“You don’t have a fucking say in that.”
“I do.”
“Levi, no you don’t. You don’t own me,” you seethe. “Why do you think you can just order me around to sit back and watch you fight these things without me? Why don’t you trust me to fight beside you for once? Why—”
“Because if I lose you this time, then that’s it!”
He shouts, unlike himself. The volume surprises you as much as it does him.
You freeze, eyes growing wide and mirroring his own.
The echoes bounce off the trees, rustling the wind.
“I lost you when we were kids,” he confesses with a slight crack to his voice, exhausted. “I lost you when the job went wrong — James, please, I love you so goddamn much and I will lose my fucking mind if something happens to you.”
Your expression unravels, softening in his broken plea for absolution.
“Yeah, I leave you out and I am sorry if that hurts your feelings, but if I don’t have you to come home to — then what the fuck is this for?”
He is out of breath, as if a giant weight has lifted.
The emotion is far too much for him to handle.
He’s grasping at straws to hold him steady.
“Nothing will happen to me.” You see a flicker of grief pass over his stern face. “Levi, I’m not going anywhere. Hey…”
You near him, pulling his face towards you by cradling his head in your palms.
He closes his eyes, breathing sharply through his nostrils as he tries not to relax into the moment.
“You don’t know that,” he protests under his breath. “The forest is dangerous.”
“But if I have you watching my every move, how could we lose? Fighting right by your side and never leaving it,” you remind him, running a thumb gently along his cheekbone. “Remember when I promised you I wouldn’t die on you?”
He scoffs, but you duck your chin to meet his eyes.
“Y’know, the first night you…”
“Yeah, yeah, I remember,” he interrupts.
You can’t help but smile. "Yeah?"
"Yeah, shithead, of course I do," he deflates, opening his gray eyes to study you. A light shade of pink peppers his cheeks. "Not exactly a night I could forget."
You continue caressing his cheek, knowing how much it can soothe him.
He fights it, but ultimately he relents.
Releases.
"I won't die on you," you repeat, firmer this time.
"I know," he exhales. "Because if you died on me, I’d drag your ass out of wherever shitty afterlife they stick you in and bring you back myself.”
You believe him.
For a moment you both stand here in the dark, coming down from the adrenaline.
After a minute passes, you speak softer.
"We'll clear the forest."
"I know."
"And we'll be able to return to the Walls with the first update in years."
"I know."
“And then when you're done meeting with the Commander, I’ll be waiting in your bed—”
Levi’s eyes snap open from the outwardly bold suggestion. “James—”
“—with a dozen apologies in a dozen different positions—”
He presses a hand over your mouth to muffle the other dirty things you want to say before they turn into giggles.
He kisses the back of his hand and shakes his head.
“You’re a fucking nightmare.”
Eventually he lets go, and you press a chaste kiss to his lips.
“I mean it. We’ll come home.”
A moment passes, but Levi eventually pulls your forehead to rest against his.
“Yeah. Right home.”

Purpose Organisms
These are some of Chasing Wind's purpose organisms within his facility ground.
All of the creatures below have some of their population within the Green Sanctuary as a preservation method created by the ancients.
Tumblr media
Brawler Shark - This brute hunter species lives within the Azure Lake and the Swampland Region and is a rival predator of the Leviathans. This shark can swim faster than a Leviathan and is more aggressive. However, due to their speedy metabolism, they have to continuously hunt or they will be weakened.
Tumblr media
Bumper - This herbivore creature is big and can run fast for its size. They like to bump into things which is how they got their name. Their herd lives across the Plain Outskirts and the Green Sanctuary Region.
Tumblr media
Duck Puff - They're spore puffs but ducks. They're adorable and they can swim. If you throw them they'll squeak, puff, and die. They live a very fragile life which is why they reproduce in abundance. They roam all across the facility ground.
Tumblr media
Hipmole - This species of hippo likes living under the mud and can dig underground. Despite their huge form, they are capable diggers and cause a lot of sinkholes. Most of them live underneath the Old Mine Region.
Tumblr media
Hoppimu - They were originally used by the ancients to transport people between places. However, now the Hoppimu live in herds on the open terrain of the Plain Outskirt and the Agriculture Complex. Some of them were domesticated by the Scavengers.
Tumblr media
Horned Lizard - This lizard variant has horned heads and limbs, making them dangerous and well-protected from harm. They charge like green lizards and roam across the facility ground.
Tumblr media
Jumpfox - They are a long relative to the slugcats and came from the same ancestor organism. However, instead of crawling on pipes, they evolved to learn to jump and live in the high terrain of the Upstream and Mt.Everhigh Region.
Tumblr media
Kelp Turtle - This humongous turtle species grew up so big and so slow that kelps grew on them over time, which is how they got their name. They are valuable as transport across the water, especially in the Swampland and the Azure Lake where they became prey to the Brawler Shark.
Tumblr media
Monkey Spider - As their name suggests, this spider species can swing from pole to pole due to their tail. Which can also spew out webs. These creatures live within the heights of the Giant Forest Region.
Tumblr media
Needlefish - This organism likes to thrust themselves towards and stab their attacker. Best not to disturb them. They act as sporadic as a Jet Fish so you have to be careful around them. They live mostly in the Azure Lake where they can swim around freely.
Tumblr media
Plainfish - They're just plain ass fish. What do you expect? They do nothing just like a regular fish. They live within all sorts of water regions.
Tumblr media
Queen Spider - This humongous toxic spider lives in the depths of the Giant Forest Region. She is the queen of all spiders as she birthed all kinds of spiders from her eggs. She rarely leaves her nest and when she does all the spiders follow her commands. There is only one Queen Spider known today.
Tumblr media
Shadow Owl - They hunt at night and can see in the dark. Just like the vultures they have mechanical parts built into their body. They're able to use thermal vision with their camera lens eyes. These creatures soar high above the facility ground and create nests on high grounds such as the Giant Forest and Upstream Region, even on Chasing Wind's superstructure itself.
Tumblr media
Slither Snake - This snake slithers on all terrain, even walls and underwater. Once they grabbed their prey, they squeezed them and injected their prey with neurotoxins. Like the centipedes, they come in 3 sizes. These snakes live within the Old Mine, Swampland, and the Garbage Disposal Region.
Tumblr media
Spewing Crow - This bird likes to make noises and spew projectiles on any creatures they find able to be bullied. Best to throw a rock or two at them to chase them off. These creatures annoy everyone from above and they all nested in the Upstream Region.
Tumblr media
Spikehog - Pretty self-explanatory. Spike and hog. They live in the density of the Giant Forest to avoid being hunted. If they ever do, they would roll towards their hunters with their spikes.
Tumblr media
Starfish - They see everything. They are everywhere. They live in every region.
Tumblr media
Swamp Hog - These hogs live in the waters of the Swampland and Garbage Disposal Region and enjoy most of their lives floating above water doing nothing at all. Quite a simple and content living situation.
Tumblr media
Toucan - Well it's a Toucan, isn't it? It has 4 wings now so that's something. They are pettable like the lizards and they live solely within the Green Sanctuary due to them having no survival instincts.
Tumblr media
Wool Deer - It's a Wool Deer, what more do you want? It's Rain Deer but Wools. And they come in all shades of wool color. THEY ALSO HAVE RAINBOW COLORED VARIANTS. They live within the Agriculture Complex, Upstream, and Mt. Everhigh Region.
And that is some of Chasing Wind's own purpose organisms before his repurposing arc started. I might add more in the future.

Do you have any headcanons or concepts of how houses would look for each tribe? I’m always so curious about what people think
Sure I can write some thoughts! I might doodle these later but I'm not the biggest fan of drawing buildings so we'll see. This is all coming from my OC Universe, but it's mostly consistent with canon too.
Skywing: It's said they like caves, so commoners and nomads probably just find whatever random cave they can find. If they actually take the time to build it, maybe they could carve out more intricate rooms, windows, pillars and carvings, and maybe the richer ones could get wood for balconies/struts/furniture. If they're built from the ground up, mostly a lot of stone work, stained glass for richer homes, tall pillars, not a lot of stairs (more for flying in and out) so a lot of open areas and big doors/windows to fly out of if needed.
Mudwing: Although the poorest live in those packed mud hut things, the common house is a beaver dam thing with an underwater entrance, an underground basement (though not very big) with more of a terracotta/brick based structure above ground. They're very warm and very open plan, not individual rooms per se but more of a big ol studio for all the sibs to live in. And you'd get a bunch of these in a village. The richer could probably afford wood stilts to get raised houses outside of the water made of wood, though not every mudwing prefers that because they like the mud to sleep in. So it's more of a merchant stall type thing rather than somewhere you sleep. The palace would be a mix of wood and terracotta brick, with a lot of water features.
Icewings: Most icewing houses are igloos or underground bunker type things. It also depends on where you're at. In the more mountainous areas, they could probably make relatively simple stone buildings that look more like fortresses/fortified castles, with snow and ice being used as mortar inbetween the stones. The rich houses and palaces though are in the heart of the ice kingdom, where it's coldest, and the houses are made of pure ice, either carved or made with frostbreath. Wood isn't the best for the cold, so they wouldn't bother importing it.
Seawings: Underwater, it's mostly underwater caves, or coral reef areas. They might be able to bring around some stones to create a little hut out of, but they're usually nothing super elaborate. Houseboats are popular for merchants because they can move their stuff around and catch the attention of swimming seawings. On land, on the shores, they would use stone and wood that they can get near the shore and from the sea. They're usually nothing super fancy or crazy, just functional for seawings who have business on the land more than they do the water. The palace would be in a coral reef area, with a lot of underwater/underground rooms. There would be a little bit above ground for when non-seawings visit, but its not used very much if there's not guests.
Rainwings: Pretty much just what canon says. A lot of wooden platforms, a lot of rope bridges and wooden huts with leaf canopies, it would be very layered and open for everyone to fly around. I don't have much to say here, I love the canon rainwing kingdom.
Nightwings: (In my OC universe they live in the mountains where Jade Mountain is in canon, so the range between the desert/rain forest area) Nightwings love the canyons more than the peaks, so they also love caves, but they adore taking their time with every single one and meticulously carving something into every cave wall. Rope bridges connecting the canyon walls, a real maze carved out behind each wall, and plenty of wood and gemstones embedded to show their wealth. The palace is built into the highest peak, with it being quite narrow relative to other palaces, but going very, very deep into the mountain with a lot of layers. There are a few towers and windows seen from the outside, however.
Sandwings: A lot of sandwings are nomadic, and towns are built around oases. The buildings are made of sandstone and brick, and due to most sandwings moving around a lot, inns are more popular than individual houses, though there are still houses for those who don't feel like moving around a lot. They tend to be not very noteworthy, mostly square with only a story or two, but with paintings and tapestries to spice it up. There's also tents for those going out into the desert and those who just want to rest in a town without getting an inn. A lot of sandwings also travel at night/dawn/dusk and sleep during the heat of the day. In the richer communities, they'll add wood and glass, and fancier inns. As for the palace, honestly I just visualize something that looks like the Taj Mahal or the Kremlin Palace. A lot of sandstone, glass, taller towers and walls, and water features to show off wealth.

Ok so been researching some animals when I came across the Titanoboa and I went "Desmond as this would be very funny hehe" because imagine seeing that! A normal snake is pretty anxiety inducing enough, a giant one is a nightmare come true XD
If you wanna know just how long the titanoboa was supposed to be, here you go:
Tumblr media
You know what would be funny?
If Desmond was ‘hibernating’ for so long his white scales actually looked like they were stone or mud thanks to all the dirt around him because he was sleeping in…
A very prominent location.
.
Altaïr knew that something strange was going on because he swear some parts of this underground ‘building’ were moving.
He wasn’t going to say it to Malik and Kadar though because he knew that they wouldn’t believe him. Well, Malik wouldn’t believe him but Kadar would definitely be more paranoid, fearing that perhaps they were being played with by a djinn or some other rot.
Then they reached the main chamber where Robert de Sablé appeared and Altaïr confronted him.
He was thrown across the room.
And into a wall…
That started to move against his back.
And all he could do was stare at the walls all started to move.
And golden eyes stared at them from where the supposed treasure was meant to be.
.
Ezio knew something was wrong the moment he stepped into the supposed resting place of God himself.
At least, that was what Rodrigo Borgia believed.
The walls…
They feel like they were moving…
But Ezio couldn’t be entirely sure that it wasn’t just his imaginations getting the best of him. So he continued to walk forward, wary of what lies at the end of this corridor.
Only to freeze when he reached an open room.
Where the head of a giant snake turn to stare at him.
Rodrigo Borgia was wrong.
God did not sleep here.
It was the serpent…
The serpent who had tempted Eve with the forbidden fruit.
.
Okay. So the one for Ratonhnhaké:ton is a problem. If we add Edward here, that would be easy because the Observatory is right there. Hell, he could even be an ‘experiment’ that Aita kept hidden.
Or, if you want to go down the route of Desmond being reborn or having the past life of Aita and Juno’s child, their human experiments were all to find a cure to their son who has been turned into a large snake OR all studies on how to keep their son alive during the Solar Flare.
Unfortunately, Ratonhnhaké:ton would be the odd man out of Desmond’s ancestors as he doesn’t enter any Isu facilities that we know of. Of course, we can just make Desmond sleep in the forest near his village or, more dramatically, inside the Grand Temple that he managed to escape from just in time to save Ratonhnhaké:ton from Charles Lee? Those could work?
(Sidebar: Desmond being a giant snake could also make this a “Desmond is Midgarsormen, one of Loki’s children” idea)

I cannot for the life of me remember who said this but if someone in the crowd could shout out the user that’d be great.
But NO DL6 Au where Miles is a defense attorney, and phoenix finally does his true calling: Detective work.
afformentioned user kinda hit nail on the head when they said that Phoenix doesn’t actually know jack rabbit about law, but he’s trapped in a world of terrible corruption where he’s forced to prove innocent people innocent and uncover the true criminal inside a courthouse.
However, i also believe that Miles, who’s passion has been law since he was 9, would excel in whatever he chose or whatever he’s forced into idk.
i’m rambling but POINT BEING:
My ✨vision✨
Phoenix is an absolutely insane detective bc he just believes in his clients, shouts out outlandish theories, and has the super power of being able to not die.
His sidekicks of weird girls like Maya, Pearl and Trucy help him weed out liars during interrogations
and finally, the banter between the Lawyer he changed careers for (Miles) and he would be hilarious.
“So you simply waltzed into an underground drug ring with nothing but cheap theatre disguises from your old drama club, your mediocre-“ “GREAT” “MEDIOCRE acting skills and a prop weapon, found the true culprit, which you have yet to tell me.” “I’M GETTING THERE!” “all because you had an INSANE theory that the culprit was ACTUALLY performing at a secret circus in the middle of a forest.”
“Yeah pretty much. Anyways i haven’t even told you the evidence i found inside one of the CORPSES-“
“WRIGHT.”
AND IT GETS BETTER! Miles is just as good at investigating as Phoenix is, if not more organized. So if they switch places then they can still work it out!
Its such a silly idea but now i can’t stop thinking about it.
And yes, Phoenix still changes his career from Acting and Art to Detective work JUST for miles bc he was struggling with something and Phoenix’s savior complex kicks in.
And no i did not forget objectively best characters Mia and Gumshoe. They are important but i just ran out of energy will throw this into the void for now and i’ll be back.

Hobbies!
headcanons about what kind of hobbies i think some of the skeles have. this post includes undertale and underfell sans and papyrus. i want to smooch these guys so bad y’all.
| Undertale & Underfell || fluff |
Hobbies: you are here | pt. 2 | pt. 3 | pt. 4
words: 1045
Tumblr media
Sans
Canonically it’s trombone, and he knows how to sew
He started learning how to sew pretty young (out of necessity) so he’s really good now. He made papyrus’s costume after all! He’s actually a pretty skilled seamstress and super super good at making barely visible, perfectly blended alterations to clothing. He’d be better at mending if he cared to, but he isn’t bad.
The trombone was probably in whatever the underground equivalent of his second year of high school.
Yes he was and still is a band kid sorry 🤷🏻‍♀️
Other than in game canon, I see him doing origami. He found a box set of books (beginner, intermediate, and advanced) at the dump in great condition and decided to take it up.
He used to make a bunch of little characters and animals for babybones Papyrus to play with.
He makes so many paper stars. Like two of those really big mason jar fulls with a third actively being filled.
It became a bit of a coping mechanism to be able to pick up scraps of paper and make little things quickly and mindlessly. Not to mention the chance to make a wish
More than once he may or may not have used torn slips of blueprints and schematics for projects…. Oops
Papyrus
He’s so babygirl girliepop
He loves puzzles but that’s already covered by playing the game and this is not written to rehash the canon
So instead I will tell you about the million and one crafts he does (no I won't)
He so so crafty and creative so technically he does a lot of different things, but I see him loving making decor items. Stuff like rock painting and recycled garden decor. Yk those bottle cap flowers for your garden? Stuff like that.
His front garden is so cute because of all the stuff he put in it.
The rocks he paints are just random local forest and river stones. The paints are all natural and watershed safe. Ecological awareness queen.
He mostly does those dot patterns when and places them all around the garden and pathways. Sometimes he’ll do little faces or bugs to mix it up
ZUMBA omg
He’s such a Zumba girl you have no clue. He loves the fun danciness of it while still being a good workout. He’s very 90s fashion-wise so you know he’s in those brightly colored body suits.
He lovesss putting together and painting model figures. Kinda like dnd minis but I see him being more into put it together yourself robot sets (like Gundams or whatever they’re called)
Y’all he’s so down bad for sexy robots you can’t tell me he wouldn’t love Gundams. Just look at how he acts towards his action figures AND METTATON HIMSELF. He’s so tragic and so real tbh.
Red
He’s my artsy babygirl.
If you’ve read my headcanon post about him you’ll know.
He’s not very good, but he does do landscape paintings every now and then. Those times are more when he randomly decides to take a walk around a local park or something. He’s more interested in studying other artists’ work than doing it himself.
Onto an actual hobby: Whittling!
He discovered the hobby kinda on his own in the underground. Whenever he was forced to show up to his sentry station and couldn’t find a way to run off, he’d pick up sticks and cut them down to nothing with a pocket knife. Over time he started carving little shapes and figures into the sticks. He’d usually just make simple bone attacks or snow poffs. Sometimes if he found a bigger branch, he’d make replicas of some of the other royal guards or random machines.
Topside he makes so many animals. Like so many. His favorite things to make are birds. He has so many different types of whittled birds all over his room. There’s boxes in his closet overflowing with finished and half finished bird carvings. They’re also in the windows and you can see them walking past their house.
If he’s feeling fancy he’ll pull out the woodstain and give them a little depth to make the species more obvious.
He makes other animals too of course, but they’re usually gifts. He makes a bunch of forest animals for Frisk (their favorites are rabbits and deer).
He made an MTT carving Once when Edge was going through it and was increasingly stressed for like a month straight. Red is a bit of a hater so jacking anything MTT was like pulling teeth. You gotta do what you gotta do for the happiness of your siblings I'm afraid.
A lot of people see him working as a mechanic and I agree, but that’s his career and jobs can’t be hobbies so I’m not gonna go into depth.
Edge
Ok consider for a second: (silk) flower arranging
For one, I headcanon him working as a professional makeup artist on the surface so its not completely left field,
For two, I’m right and you know it.
He does it as casually as you can imagine Edge being casual. Mostly dining table centerpieces and hallways vases. He does silk flowers for places he doesn’t check as often (like hallways) but since he’s classy he dumps the extra G for the fancy fake flowers.
The real flowers are in foyers and on tables. He even takes the occasional flower arranging class in different disciplines to be able to have the skill to arrange any flower in any style.
Edge is such a granny so I think weaving would be reasonable too.
Originally he started out darning his clothes so they would last a few more months, but since he got topside he does a lot of more artsy woven pieces on those small lap sized looms.
He’s not too picky about the actual design; they’re usually classy and fancy and a bit pretentious like him but he’s not actually all that picky about it. He mostly makes scarves and wall hangs that he sells at the local farmers market and craft fairs.
All his friends do have specially designed and stunningly made scarves that he spent hours laboring away on. He gets to critical levels of happiness when he sees them wearing his hard work.

✰⋆⁺Sorry this took so long to come out- I had a hard time figuring out what kind of game I wanted this to be. I also changed the pov to 2nd person bc 1st person is starting to make me a bit uncomfy- Much trial and error. Enjoy this chapter!!

(...)
PROGRAM LOADED, START? (?)
YES NO (ok then)
{ enjoy your experience dear player :] } (WAIT! )
You couldn't tell where you were, and you could swear you could hear dying by omfg playing somewhere in the back of your head. Or was that all around you? All thoughts were interrupted by that trashy music.
Speaking of, your head really hurts.
And so you took a moment to gather yourself before you looked around your environment. and oh dear
Everything was either bright or pastel (you're pretty sure you wouldn't be able to see once you got out of here) and the build of the place reminded you of something from mario's 3D world.
Your Utah Aunt's baby shower could never.
You were in the forest, and in the near distance, you could see blocky-like hills. The grass underneath you was a sea green, and then you saw your feet underneath your knees.
you were pixelated... Which you found odd, the environment around you was round and 3D, but whatever.
You were in a royal attire, which made you question your lack of shoes.
Reaching for your hair you felt a metal through your tufts. A crown? You took it from its place and inspected it. huh, it was increased with a heart shaped gem. Underneath it, it was encrested with the words 'Our Majesty' Which made you do a double take.
where you a royal? Alright then. About time! You deserved this for a long time damn it!
Placing your status jewelry back on your head, you turned back to the world around you...how were you gonna get back? If this was really a video game, how many lives did you have? Were you...ever going to leave?...
What would happen if you ran out of lives?
A lot of it was cutesy in a way, something that you would've decided to play with your cousin- but knowing that your life could potentially be on the line...
Well now isn't the time to start that pissy crying now! If you're in a game, the only way to progress is to keep moving forward. In this world, time would wait you for, making your leave unnecessarily prolonged. You had to keep on moving.
You were currently in front of a rushing river, speeding as one would do when you're in a court case involving your kids. It didn't look safe to cross, so you didn't.
You looked around once more, seeing a long tree trunk conveniently placed between two branches. It also looked more like a plank now that you looked at it.
Either this game was trash, someone granted you a gift, or this was a coincidence. Either which way, you weren't gonna slow this journey. Rolling up your ridiculously puffy sleeves, you stretched and began to prepare yourself before you gripped onto the plank.
Oddly enough (what wasn't odd about this place?), the item wasn't heavy at all, but it held against the currents of the water.
You thanked the stars as you walked across your makeshift bridge to find out it was very much stable.
You marched deeper into the other side of the woods, hearing a ping above your head. You looked up to see a...?
A white check mark? Welp, you did something right in life, even if it was virtual.
You press onto it, the sign stretching out into a screen. Like a small laptop. It lowered down in front of your torso, with the screen black, and the words in purple pixelated text. There was 3 pages, each labeled stats, traits, and inventory.
Stats
Lives: 1
Death Count: 0
Health: 30/30
Attack 2/20
Traits
Perserverance: 5/20
Kindness: 0/20
Charizzma: 0/20
Intelligence: 5/20
Shadow Phase: 20/20
Inventory (1/5)
Extremely sharp knife
That sucks, you could only hold 5 things! And you weren't even gonna acknowledge the traits. And you were wrong...The wingdings didn't read 'One shit', the game is called 'One Shot'.
Which means anything with more atk damage would easily kill you, even if it took some time.
Underneath the stats read a note. It would be crazy if this was written by some gnome.
Welcome my Liege, this is Nigel the Gnome, your previous caretaker, and now lost friend! If you are reading this, I am dead.
'Well damn'
I warn you: Someone of non-royal status is going to dethrone you! Maybe even going as far to assassinate you. I am unsure. All I know is, you have to be careful on this journey. Ever since you left for the expedition, this forceful tyrant has only started his progression.
'i just got here bro-'
He's taken control of the capital, placing a bounty on your name.
'you just had to think something didn't you'
I yearn for this to be another life, but this isn't the case. Your Majesty, there is something about you no one has ever known of. Your legal guardians have entrusted me with this royal government secret, and now is the time to bestow the same upon to you.
You, my dear child, have the power to manipulate and phase into shadows. Apologies for not explaining this sooner, but here is some information you may want to get familiar with:
You can change the shape of shadows, you can travel through them as well as see through them, and you are able to make shadows, as well as your own, physical enough to defend and offend someone.
Bad news is, the only drawbacks you get is your body phasing in and out of the shadow realm, and tiredness. The best part is that only happens when you make the shadows physical.
I am running out of paper, so I have one last thing to say.
You only have one shot.
With the love, determination, and care I can give to you,
-Nigel Gnomaly
the world zoomed in around you, giving you tunnel vision. 'oh dear stars-' The world around you turned black.
GAME LOADING
LEVEL ONE FINISHED
{ Keep on going, the journey hasn't even begun :] }

Darkside Disney Princesses: Belle
(Edit-put my original picture for her under the cut)
Tumblr media
(So this one does rely somewhat on the backstories made up for my DisneyVerse versions of the parents of both Belle and the Beast. But I think it still has good precedent because of the whole Belle and Rumplestiltskin thing that happens in OUAT)
In the Darkside version of Belle's tale, Felipe never makes it back to the village to let Belle know something has happened to Maurice, either he gets lost in the woods, or the wolves find him again. And so Belle waits patiently for him to return. Waits, and waits, and waits…
Finally a month has passed, and Belle is desperate to find out what's happened to her father. With no way to know where along his journey he went missing though, she has no way to know where to start looking. And the town isn’t too worried about chasing after “Crazy Old Maurice”, gone into the blue.
Her own circumstances are getting dire as well, without Maurice there to bring in their little income from helping repair the villages various items, her resources are running low. She's taken in sewing or whatever small work people might give her, but its a small town after all, and the people are used to doing their own labor, and couldn't pay her much besides.
The kinder townsfolk give her what they can, but with winter coming on they've got to look out for themselves and their own families
Of course, there's always Gaston's ready offer of marriage, but Belle isn't that desperate. Yet.
Her refusals don't stop him from coming over and offering nearly every day, and they certainly spur him into making sure the town gets the idea that Belle is "too proud to accept charity, don't bother giving her any supplies"
So the winter closes in, Belle finds herself colder and hungrier, and her firewood is getting low. Finally, she bundles up as warmly as she can, and braves her way into the forest to gather what wood she can.
And in the glamor of the sudden snow, she too becomes lost within the trees.
The cold closes in around her. Deep and biting. The trees seem to twist around her, and finally she trips and falls, losing her axe beneath the snow that's piling higher and higher. She has no idea where she is or where to go, as the darkness deepens
Then suddenly, a light. Just ahead of her in the trees, flickering like a flame. She manages to stumble towards it. Following the dance of the light as it seems to lead her onwards, almost beckoning. Every bit of her is numb, but at last she makes it to the door of a ruined looking old tower. And inside, lounging by a roaring fire, is someone, something, between a man and a beast. It bears the shape of a man, but it's skin is mottled green, like the stuffed crocodile she'd once seen hanging in a church as a girl. It's eyes are black as coal, save for the irises, which shine-- like it's hair--like burning gold.
"Hello there Dearie", the being says, with a smile that glitters like a row of needles in the firelight. "Won't you come in? What is it that brings such a pretty young thing out into these dark and dangerous woods?"
Too numb with cold to feel fear, too desperate for warmth to think with caution, Belle accepts the offer, and lulled by the warmth of the fire and the being's careful coaxing, she begins to tell her tale. Her missing father, her growing desperation as Gaston drove away those who might have helped her, the dwindling food and firewood. And through it all the being listens, sympathizes, and finally, offers it's aid:
"For a price of course"
Belle is not put off by this caveat. She has read enough to know of Les Fées and the bargains they often make. She knows of the tricks and traps they lay. She also knows that at this point, she has little left to lose.
And so she agrees to make a bargain with this strange Imp
“You don’t know it, but there’s a power in you dearie. Flowing in your veins, deep down, like an underground spring. I can teach you to draw it up, so that you’ll never know weakness nor want again. You’ll be able to do all the things you ever dreamed of dearie, fulfill every wish—even finding your father”
The promise of this wished for dream above all lights a fire inside of Belle hotter than the one she sits by, but she asks warily: “And, what is it you get out of this?”
“Let’s just say that I’ll have the opportunity to pay something forward”
So Belle begins her lessons, she has always been a swift student. Drawing out the latent fairy magic that lies sleeping within her, waiting to be called forth. In another life she might have discovered it with the help of a more benign teacher. But that is not this life. And she learns to call forth her power through the lens of her fear, frustration, and anger over the willingness of that small and small minded town to so easily cast her and her father aside.
Time passes differently within the environs of the old stone tower. When Belle finally leaves, for her months have gone by, and yet as she reaches the edge of the forest, clad in a gown of midnight blue, her eyes dark as the winter sky above her, she perceives that less than a day has passed since she entered the woods, seeking wood to keep back the cold.
She has no need of warmth anymore.
She reaches out with the power she has learned to yield, seeking the bonds of blood and love that link her to her father. She sees them, feels them, faintly running through the forest. She follows them through the trees, unafraid of the wolves that once would have stalked her, and now slink away in fear at her approach.
She follows them to the gates of a vast and terrible castle, echoing with dying magic, a curse reaching completion she thinks, with the new arcane knowledge she holds. But she does not think on that, but on following the call. Through the door, along empty passages,up the winding stairs, to a jail cell atop a tower. Where lies the frozen body of her father, long gone.
Belle’s grief consumes her, feeding the cold flames of her power. She stalks through the halls, seeking the one who locked her father away, who left him to his fate.
She finds him at last, a snarling beast, crouched around a bell jar that holds a rose, with but one petal left upon it. Magic swirls about it, the center of the web that binds this place. Once Belle might have been curious, wished to learn the secrets of this place, and it’s strange enchanted inhabitants.
Now, she wishes only for revenge
The beast is strong and fierce, savage, the last vestiges of human thought quickly fading away as the curse nears completion, for he has never learned to love, nor earn love in return. But for all his brute strength, he is still only a mortal, and once more finds himself overpowered by a sorceress’s magic
When Belle leaves the castle, crumbling into smoking ruins behind her, she holds in her hands a staff, grown from the dying stem of a rose; once the blushing pink of hopeful love, hope that withered as its petals fell, now burst forth into bloom, the deep dark blue of a winters sky, of a heart gone dark and cold.
She walks steadfastly, resolutely towards the small town she had once called home. There are more scores to settle. Somewhere on the wind, she thinks she hears the echo of the Imp’s laughter…

i know i said i wouldnt be ranting about totk anymore, but i realized i didnt really count the sage dungeons as story (dont ask me why) so i thought im gonna write a better summarized version of my opinion about totk (i have around 60% of the game, all lightroots, not yet all shrines (missing like .. 20 or so, know the reward), not all krogs (dont know the reward), not all mayoi (half know the reward?) )
(in no particular order)
good stuff (in my opinion)
the. MUSIC! god the music is good, it was good in botw too but now with much more different bosses it really is probably one of my fav soundtracks of all time (most fav are all three phases of the end fight, the pre-fight to that, the build up one before all of those, Frosgeira (wind tempel boss) the glorious mASTER KOGA and more tbh)
the build up and end boss fight(s) are fantastic, i dont think im ever not gonna have my heart racing when approaching it (despite now skipping almost the entire way bc i set a teleport thing right before it) just bc the build up is so well made and the music(again) is such a banger and the fight(s) itself is so fun too, tbh i keep wanting to play it just bc its so fun
i LOVE how many themes play into the music (endfight alone had so many layers, fav probably is ganondorfs classic theme and calamity ganons both in the same piece among much more, and daruks theme in the fire temple)
(edit) YOU. CAN. TOUCH. DA. DRAGONS!!!!
ganondorf
ganondorfs design (x3)
ganondorfs weapon designs
ganondorfs voice (japanese)
everyone elses voice (japanese)
all voices (german)
thE YIGA!!! i love everythign about them and am so happy they got to be more than just some mini mission
(edit) also the fact that they get zonau tech to work without any special ghost powers is so ????
(edit) koga can summon and use zonau tech unlimited?? hes so cool
NO stealth mission!! (as far as im aware)
bosses are very different from each other
main dungeons are not too short and not too long and mostly fun (mostly bc i personally didnt like the gerudo one), i love that you can still somewhat cheese them and do them your way
sages felt like they got a bit more involved
(edit) you gotta do more stuff before getting to the actual dungeons and i really like that, feels less like a fetch quest but that you are actually helping
(edit) each sage is actually there in the dungeon and is required for it, which is great!
each settlement saw a much bigger danger/change (tho that has more impact if you have played botw) and its problems felt much more real
shrines are well varied tho i think overall a little easy (only got stuck on two so far and later solved them easily bc when i first started them i was tired and exhausted, no brain left lol)
NPCs felt less flat + more bigger sidequests that felt like they had more impact
cool new monsters + designs
the underground was pretty appropiately creepy
the sages abilities are neat
you can refight bosses!!
stable points system is a neat way to encourage you using them
weapon fusing is neat
(edit) the forest of the krogs being corrupted like that is both creepy and a neat nod to oot
(edit) the vai gerudo outfit being gone!! (one) evil has been defeated
(edit) the health bar going so far off the middle in ganondorfs second phase is honestly just funny hnjdfdjk unfortunate that you only need the master sword and with a few perfect dodges his health melts like butter in the summer
(edit) the music when dragondorf transforms sounds so sad .. its probably meant as a oh no world is actually ending sad but i like to think of it as a oh god what did he do to himself sad
the scene where rauru seals ganondorf kinda fruity
(graphic, animations and the overall world is still fantastic)
bad stuff (in my opinion)
everything zonau they feel forced into every bit of the world and its history (i know them being somewhat alien is intentional but not like that) it feels crammed into places they werent before and shouldnt be and it makes it all feel very artificial
the glyphs/dragon tears/memories really ruined alot for me, while it gave you insight as to what happened, it felt like it showed you too much and too little at the same time and i think it would have worked better if it was all in text for once if even at all, so the past stil stayed a mystery and youd be left wondering
timetravel .. really wasnt necessary and felt more like an excuse to get rid of zelda + make her the poor little sacrificial girl again + and to make her turning into a dragon as tragic as possible, like nothing but a stepping stone to the big reveal tm
shiekah tech being not just fully irrelevant but practically erased, wiped off the world (i know about the literally last guardian parts in hateno, it feels more like an oversight tbh, purah technically using it ... tho i dont think she ever calls it that, the purah pad is jsut the sheikah stone but worse), there being no good explanation, no remains, nothing as to why it would suddendly stop working and why even the titans and ESPEICALLY the shrine of life would be destroyed, if anything why wouldnt you enshrine it as a memento to history it was such a focus in botw and so well integrated into the world that it being fully gone, not even old overgrown, or visibly reused to build homes etc., or remains of how they built the og shrines in the underground feels like a HUGE missed opportunity (seriously it would have been so easy to make the ancient shiekah base their tech on old zonau tech, without stealign the gocus but buildign a connection)
all of the continuity problems, totk feels like botw didnt happen and the excuse of 'they didnt want to confuse new players' doesnt make a lick of sense in my eyes bc; its supposed to be a sequel, if you want it to be a standalone game then dont call it a sequel- if you start to play a game with the sequel instead of the first part its your own damn fault if you get confused; if anything, it would have been a good opportuntiy to make people interested in botw so theyd buy and play that one too
ganondorfs character is very flat, you basically get to know nothing about him (yuno even calls that out midgame but its never elaborated upon nhgfrdfhkk)
the zonau and their kingdom of hyrule is presented as this so perfectly good thing to such a degree it turns creepy, the end cutscene with mineru going poof was kinda uncomfy to watch tbh
the reward for all shrines being essentially a reveal as to who the hero in the tapestry was and it being, of course, some weird half zonau is the lamest answer to a mystery i didnt want an anwser too, it doesnt feel like it came naturally either (again my point of the zonau being forced into everything)
the shrines (zonau) feel so much more unnatural than the shiekah shrines, alien in a bad way and not in a good way + really are like a bad reskin of them, their sudden appearance and use is so much less logical
back in botw i was doubtful of if the shiekah tech wasnt going to far too modern tech and cause it all to feel like a bad mix of modern tech and medival fantasy, but they balanced it perfectly (tho the eponator zero was very much the limit imo) but the zonau tech .... oversteps that line i think, it really does feel, more than anything else, that it was just bc they wanted the stuff to be in there bc it might be fun to play around with, im not against that kind of stuff mind you im all for fun, but it feels a little like they thought of a box with endless stuff to play with first and a zelda game second (if you get what i mean)
quite a few quests or things in the game seem like they are more and then end in a dead end (the worst of all is impa saying she wants to go research what could help zelda turn back, and i was excited and convinced that shed give me a quest to find some mcguffin that would do that after i beat ganon but there wasnt anything you could actually do; less bad one but disappointing nonetheless the dongos were mentioned and treated like this big awesome thing from alot of NPCs all around the map and then when you find them they are bascially just gem vending maschines)
the way zelda turns back and link gets his arm back is incredibly unsatisfying, none of them even have something like a scar, or mark from it all, zelda spent thousands of years as a dragon (a transformation that was said to cost your soul but i guess that wasnt true) and link had his arm bascially eaten by miasma and he gets it back like it was never lost, zelda returns all intact as if nothing happened, getting blasted by some magic tm by two ghosts that were supposed to be long gone is the solution to all problems!!
(edit) link losing an arm wouldnt just be super intersting but also lend itself well to lead up into the next game where his prothesis is the focus and source of abilities
(edit) zelda got done so dirty, instead of her actual interests and character to shine she just gets shoved into yet another crisis surrounded by strangers in a world that looks like hers but isnt, and all she does is beg the ancient sages to swear to help link and sacrifice herself again (can you call that fridging? bc she sure feels like she got fridged) i like zelda and i dont like how much i didnt care about her and tbh im angry at the game for that
(edit) both link and zelda not even slightly changing in the years btween botw and totk kinda boring, like a haircut can only do so much
(edit) sonia really is the wife that dies to make husband sad thing isnt she? i get that gan had to get his hands on an enigma stone but i feel like there had been better ways to do that, the fact that she dies that easily is almost funny honestly, why does ganondorf even have weapons when he can just one punch people to death (tho i find it funny to imagine he can literally just kill people in one punch but hes too prideful to do it most of the time so he always uses weapons to look more cool)
(edit) so many new characters that you barely get to see or interact with, i really ... couldnt get myself to care much
(edit) zonau tech being so irrelevant to the games story while its also the focus is .. weird, its really just play doh for the players and nothing else honestly
(edit) monsters mining sonanium feels strange bc ... they dont do anything with it? the best thing i can think of is that they were told to do that so link cant .. upgrade his battery thignies? but then again you could just destroy the mines and remaining constructs to stop it .... also you really dont need anything zonau tech related to beat gan?
(edit) ganondorf beign so utterly uninterested in their tech is weird considering how he dealt with shiekah tech (and we KNOW it can get corrupted) he should be a tech nerd tbh
my twitch VoD of the first time beating the game getting muted at the credits despite me talking over it
nitpicks (in my opninion)
(edit) ganondorf should have a bit more of a boar inspired design, as treat, i think
(edit) the enigma stone wandering back to ganondorfs forehead even after transforming is? weird? i guess an excuse for da epic last stabby but still? (how cool would it have been to have to plunge into his mouth and break it there or something)
(edit) the underground gets a lil old after a while, the fact that its pretty much the same everywhere aside from some .. very strange flowing magma is a lil boring
(edit) ganondorf could have gone way more crazy with abilities and all that, imagine hed spwan multiple miasma arms on himself when you get him to a certain level of health
(edit) i miss unique weapons, there arent even normal axes around anymore, everything is about fusing really, i miss the cool shiekah tech weapons
(edit) the forest of the krogs being largely irrelevant is kinda weird
(edit) mineru being the sage of spirit still is kinda meh, the robot is neat but i thought tauro or purah would be the surprise sage tbh
(edit) the bosses were a little easy (i did boldo gohma rather early and did it without even getting hit)
you cant talk to koga normally :(
you cant find koga again after the last fight :(
you cant refight him (to my knowledge) :(
i find it very strange that yuno seemingly lost daruk shield, despite him having inhereted it in botw
the sage powers are not .. very great integrated, while its fun to haven them run around and help you fight, to actually use their powers you have to chase after them, something that in the heat of a battle is very annoying to do, constantly activating the wrong on or them losing their charge up when they get knocked over is like trying to herd a wild pack of geese while a three headed dragon is shotting laserbeams at you
some widlife just disappearing all of the sudden is very strange (like the rhino in hebra)
some new houses or settlements would have been cool, that the material things at the sides of roads are really only for you to play around with and not to build anything that lasts
you cant fight ganondorf (non dragon, even the dragon is locked to that evening sky) in the sunlight, night or rain, i would have loved to fight him at various times of day
their refusal to show any kind of blood is honestly turnign serious scenes into very awkward ones, sonia just getting punched and she dies with not even like, losing some spit from the force or something, or the fact when you defeat ganondorfs second phase he acts mortally wounded but doesnt even look scratched is just :/
amiibo stuff while neat being included its really mostly just bloating your inventory, if i wanted 5 vaguely different link outfits then i would have gotten the amiibo for it
why hide the -now-totally-not-phantom-ganon-armor- behind such a long questline and then .. have that NOT be upgradable
they put in a house building thingy and then not let you have a roof or a tree or something :(
at some point stable points jsut get you more and more of those free staying over night tickets that i maybe used .. once at the very start and now its just accumulating in my inventory
only one new horse coat pattern :(
satori now only being a thingy that shows you caves is kinda boring, i loved the mystery around it in botw (additionally, that it shows you caves you have completed already kinda sucks)
the end of the shrines isnt that cool anymore, speaking to a mummified monk that gives you essentially his last remains of life energy is so much cooler than a statue of the oh so awesome god king and his wife
the many references and reuse of old names is neat but together with timetravel etc. it easily leads to confusing and fighting among fans for who is more 'right' and its just .. tiring
(edit) considering how much of the advertising was about the sky islands i wished there were more and bigger ones, the underground (that was a little one sided after a while, it all looking the same rly) could have been alot smaller if the sky was bigger instead
(edit) i wished there was more of a sense of .. lost life in the ruins you find, from all races, the ancient ruins are jsut some bridged and ceremonial stuff and i wished there were more like .. houses, like people actually lived there and it not being all around beign a platform for you
(edit) the fact that the half zonau hero exists mean either rauru and sonia had kids but those were clearly not important enough to ever show nor mention, or there were other mixing of them before they all mysteriously died out the fact that the ancient hero was half zonau means their genes survided till then but somehow it never came up? the tapestry still exists and impa and purah say like its a well known fact that the hero looked like that (not at all close to any modern species) when you talk to them while wearing it (the fact that the hero armor thingy is very reminiscemt of ganondorf is like some backtreading bc we were theorizing about the hero having been ganondorf once and they wanted to stop that .. but the more funny thing is the HC of its a descdendet of rauru and ganondorf nhjdfknhdgkfnhkfd) (edit to add to the HC; the game being a big battle about child support is funnier than it should be idk if nintendo knew what they were doing adding details like that)
all in all it just feels like missed opportunities, lost potential, and more a game build around some game mechanics they really wanted to get into than telling a neat story, espeically so bc they called it a sequel, most of my complaints wouldnt be there if it was some alternate thing instead
i probably forgot stuff but if i think of more i will add them later with a little note that it was added in an edit (sidenote, i find it funny how much more nuance that whole conflict would get if rauru and ganondorf were bitter exes bfdrjfbdfndk)

Could I pretty please (with a cherry on top) have some facts about zigzagoon? Ty!
Zigzagoon Facts
Tumblr media
(Art by arc draws on Danbooru)
-The scientific name for Zigzagoon is "Oblicyon Derectus." Oblicyon from Latin "oblicus" meaning zigzag or indirect, and "cyon" from "kuon" meaning dog. Derectus means direction. The rough translation for them is "Indirect Dog"
-Despite them acting very dog-like, Zigzagoon are full mustelids; with their closest relatives being Stunky
-Zigzagoon make their homes both underground and in trees. They're most oftenly found in forests and tall fields, but they are known to wander into the suburbs to find food and make homes there
-While Zigzagoon can make their homes in trees, Linoone exclusively make their homes in the ground
-Zigzagoon evolved to move in a Zig-zag motion when running as a way to escape potential predators
-They're opportunistic omnivores and will eat pretty much anything. While this includes things like Wurmple, Surskit, and berries, it can also include decaying carcasses and their own feces. Make sure to watch what your Zigzagoon is eating, because they genuinely don't care
-Zigzagoon are crepescular, meaning they're most active in the evening and at night
-Baby Zigzagoon are called Zigs
-Because of their curiosity and great sense of smell, Zigzagoon are often used as beginner-tracking pokemon. Many Zigzagoon/Linoone fathers are bred with pokemon like Lucario, Boltund, and Thievul, so the babies can be used as better tracking mon
Tumblr media
-Zigzagoon are hibernators. While many don't hibernate if they have trainers, be aware that your Zigzagoon will become sleepier and more sluggish
-When scared or threatened, Zigzagoon arch their back and make their fur stand up to be more intimidating
-Zigzagoon are already very fluffy, they become extra fluffy (and fat) in winter to deal with the cold
-Zigzagoon are foragers, eating mostly berries and small bugs. But sometimes, they will actively hunt other pokemon
-Zigzagoon have been known to wash their foods before eating
-Their mask protects their eyes from the glare of the sun, but it also adds to their stripes, which help blend them in in the tall grass
-In many Hoenn beliefs, Zigzagoon are tricksters. Old beliefs said they could shapeshift, but thst isn't true at all. The belief most likely came from how Zigzagoon are able to hide in the shadows well, and shadows can be deceiving

the minecraft experience with them — various characters ☆彡
Tumblr media
summary — in the world wherein the blocks are square, the sun is square, the moon is square, everything is square, how will they live and survive?
characters — kaveh, zhongli, childe, tighnari, cyno, wanderer, alhaitham, ayato (w/ gender neutral reader)
tags — fluff, modern, just some headcanons i thought of while playing minecraft; headcanons
word count — 1137
a/n — god my heart is melting seeing my friends act like couples in minecraft.
Tumblr media
KAVEH — It’s obvious, guys, come on. He focuses on arts and the beauty of architecture and would most definitely take on the role of the builder and the designer of the world. He’s the type to build the most beautiful and extravagant house, create an underground base, and have a fully functional and pretty home that it feels literally out of the world. He consumes a lot of resources though and would spend more time gathering the things that he needs more than the time he spent on building. He’s the primary reason why the forests are bald in your world because of the amount of wooden logs he needed. There was also the time wherein a creeper came to his home and blew it up, ultimately destroying it, and he was in despair. Alternatively, if you threaten to destroy his base, hell will break loose.
ZHONGLI — The most efficient and lucky miner of all, as well as the gatherer of materials and resources. He’s the type of player to immediately venture out and look for a cave with a wooden pickaxe on hand. Nobody complains though because he’s extremely lucky at finding ores and getting the things you need early-game. Progress is easily made with him on your side because of how fast he can mine things and because of that, it feels like he’s an expert on the game even when he doesn’t play that much nor has any prior experience. Oftentimes, he’ll immediately find diamonds but doesn’t have the appropriate pickaxe to mine it but it’s not a problem however as he’ll find another one so easily. ‘I came looking for coal but found diamonds instead’ type of beat.
CHILDE — An all-rounder. He can be the miner, he can be the explorer, he can be the gatherer, he can be the farmer, and most especially, he can be the fighter. We don’t talk about his building skills though, this man would build a 5x5 house made out of wood and call it a base then reasons that this is much more effective and saves your resources. Well, whatever makes him happy, I guess. He often accompanies you wherever you go especially when you go mining as he’ll protect you from the mobs. He’s the kind of person to believe that placing a bed on nether and sleeping on it will give you a huge buff. He’s the adventurous type of player, the reckless and careless kind, and is the reason why keep inventory is switched to true.
TIGHNARI — FOOD. FOOD. RESOURCES. FARM. ANIMALS. FOOD. Food is the essence of life and is really crucial in the game. He’s in charge of anything related to farming and alike. You’ll find dozens of chests fully stacked with food and animal products, especially bread and baked potatoes. He’s the main supplier and giver of food, as well as, potions in your world. He’s the type who loves collecting flowers and has his home decorated with plants and vines because it looks pleasant and not like anyone complains because it looks good. He’s also the builder type and just one look at a reference picture for his builds, he knows how it is done even without watching a tutorial. Definitely doesn’t like spiders because of the way it looks and how it can climb up structures and invade your home.
CYNO — The fighter and bodyguard to the farm. He’ll take on the role of the protector as he protects the base and farm from creepers that threaten to approach, blow up, and destroy any form of hardwork and kill annoying skeletons that shoot at you from afar and hide underneath the shade of the tree to avoid being burnt and dying. He often uses the weapon, Trident, and would go even at the ends of the world just to attain it (since it’s a rare drop). He does whatever he is asked to and would often go explore to gather materials or get what is needed. He occasionally finds lush caves and would tell you about it, asking you to come to these specific coordinates if you can. You won’t need Iron Golems and anything to protect your home when you have Cyno.
WANDERER — Just like his name suggests, man is the player incarnation of Dora the Explorer and would rather focus on looking for those rare and hard-to-find biomes than settling in on one place. He takes days just for adventuring and sometimes it can last up to weeks or months in-game. He goes out to venture and seeks for strongholds, mansions, and villages, then once he’s satisfied, he’ll come back with good loot and hard-to-get items on hand. He pulls an uno-reverse card on enemies and would raid them, blowing up mansions and taking everything that he can. He knows how to come back to your base or wherever he came from though no matter how far it is. You really don’t have to worry about him getting lost since he understands how coordinates work and if you don’t, he’ll make fun of you for it but will teach you afterwards.
ALHAITHAM — An explorer and expert in gathering. He has tons of materials stored in his chests that he doesn’t use and only chooses to fight when he needs to but he somehow has his character on a fully enchanted diamond armor with enchanted tools, either iron or diamond. You need a stack of clay? He has it, it’s on the chest on the third column at the top. How about some cactus or snowballs? He has quite a lot of those. He also has a collection of leaf blocks and vines that you might like as decorations of your home. Of course, since he has those unnecessary things, he also has a ton of importance that are often really hard to get and find, especially the slimes. Because of this, farming and gathering wasn’t something you’ll have to think of when you play with him.
KAMISATO AYATO — Exploration? Mining? Fighting? Gathering? Farming? Building? Whatever you mention, he knows how to do it and is even good at it. He immediately becomes an expert on the game from the very first few times of playing, saying that it’s just like life itself with some weird mobs and a square world. However, he only gathers and collects precious and rare materials and items that, majority of the time, he ends up not using. He would never touch copper because he thinks that it has no use— it’s true though. He doesn’t do a lot of work and wouldn’t invest that much time in doing such trivial things and tasks so his base is mediocre, not big nor small, only made for functional and competent use, and his chests are filled with only items that are needed for late-game.

Chasing Wind's Original Organisms
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, here are some of Chasing Wind's own original organisms. The critters that existed before he even started repurposing creatures.
Below are all the general descriptions:
Horned Lizard - Lizard, but with extra horns on their body. Pretty self-explanatory. Also, they charge like a green lizard to impale their target.
Needlefish - This organism likes to thrust themselves towards and stab their attacker. Best not to disturb them.
Woold Deer - It's a Wool Deer, what more do you want? It's Rain Deer but Wools. And they come in all shades of wool color. THEY ALSO HAVE RAINBOW VARIANT BITCHES.
Spewing Crow - This bird likes to make noises and spew projectiles on any creatures they find able to be bullied. Best to throw a rock or two at them to chase them off.
Duck Puff - They're spore puffs but ducks. They're fucking adorable and they can swim. If you throw them they'll squeak, puff, and die.
Bumper - This herbivore creature is big and can run fast for its size. Their herd lives across the plain and spacious biome.
Queen Spider - This humongous toxic spider lives in the depths of the Giant Forest. She is the queen of all spiders as she birthed all kinds of spiders from her eggs.
Slither Snake - This snake slithers on all terrain, even walls and underwater. Once they grabbed their prey, they squeezed them and injected their prey with neurotoxins.
Spider Monkey - As their name suggests, this spider species can swing from pole to pole due to their tail. Which can also spew out webs.
Jumpfox - They are a long relative to the slugcats, which came from the same ancestor organism. However, instead of crawling on pipes, they evolved to learn to jump and live in high terrain.
Hoppimu - They were originally used by the ancients as transport between places. However, now the Hoppimu live in herds and open terrain. Although some of them were domesticated by the Scavengers.
Spikehog - Pretty self-explanatory. Spike and hog. They live in dense jungles to avoid being hunted. If they ever do, they would roll towards their hunters with their spikes.
Toucan - Well it's a fucking Toucan, isn't it?
Swamp Hog - These hogs lives in the depths of the Swampland and enjoy most of their lives floating above water doing nothing at all. Quite a simple and content living situation.
Brawler Shark - This brute hunter species lives within the Azure Lake and is a rival predator of the Leviathans. This shark can swim faster than a Leviathan and is more aggressive. However, due to their incredibly fast metabolism, they have to continuously hunt or they will be weakened.
Kelp Turtle - This humongous turtle species grew up so big and so slow that kelps grew on them over time, which is how they got their name. They are valuable as transport across the water.
Mole Hippo - This species of hippo likes living under the mud and can dig underground. Despite their huge form, they are capable diggers and cause a lot of sinkholes.
Starfish - They see everything.
Shadow Owls - They hunt in the night and are able to see in the dark. They're also able to use thermal vision with their eyes.
Plainfish - They're just plain ass fish. What do you expect?
Ok, that's a lot but so worth it.

It’s time for another Fic Rec List fellow humans!!!
And boy howdy do I have a LOT this time lmao. A good chunk of them are Kyle-centric, bc I, like my son Stan Marsh, have been fixated on that guy. Also there are multiple from the same authors bc I find something I like and read EVERYTHING by them.
There’s a range of pairings on this list too bc I’ll read pretty much anything (still mostly style they do be my favorite) so hopefully if u see ur favorite ship or an intriguing concept this’ll steer you to somethin u like!
Here ya go!
* (rem)ember by boxwinebaddie. Ok we all knew I was gonna start the list w this one bc I am OBSESSED!!! Style holy shit! Crimson Dawn! Mentally unstable law student Kyle! RAVEN!!! The friendships and group dynamics! Rm lives rent free in my head dude plsplspls check it out!
* Painted In Shrouds by courtanie. Y’all want some Kysterion? This is one of my favorites! And NOBODY does Kenny like this author seriously. We got espionage! We got organized crime! We got overworked cfo Kyle! We got working together to take down the bad guys! We got blood and injuries and falling in love!
* Swansong by OrcaTimes. Fair warning this made me ugly cry. No one writes Craig like OrcaTimes YALL the Cryle destroyed me and doctor Craig always slays!!! It’s a beautiful story about love and grief, just GORGEOUS!!!
* Collector by cement_shoes. WHOLESOME STYLE ONESHOT!!! Them over the years, taking care of each other, Kyle handling bugs for Stan when he’s scared of them, growing up together and the trials of being human, but with someone always on your side. This one is SO sweet and gorgeously written, and a quick read too.
* A Ballad Of True Hearts by luckypoppies. Dude we all know I’m feral about SOT Style and THIS RIGHT HERE EATS!!!!! The history, the betrayal, the FANTASY VIOLENCE AND THERES THIS FIGHT SO FAR THAT SLAYS SO HARD! Being falsely accused of treason and subsequently exiled, tasked with escorting your prince to safety, GOD you just FEEL for the boys in this (plus we got them taking care of each other like yes yes gimme that fantasy whump) the world building is AWESOME I love sot AU’s and how different authors come up w the lore!
* Behind The Wall by Jwink85. Alright this one STARTS OUT nice, and is such an accurate representation of manipulative abusive relationships. Damien man holy shit. There’s so much going on in this, and the STAN PLOT OMG (yes style I love them) Kyle and Stan reconciling, Ike is my DISTRUSTING KING, high school angst, Tweek and Kyle friendship, Kenny being an icon, and I’ve said before but I love when Kyle’s written as generally wanting to see the good in people but still fiery in his own right, this is (a lot of jwinks stuff really that’s why I like their works so much) a great example of that!
* Simply Expandable by Kivea. YO WHO ORDERED THE MOB AU!!! Dude we got private investigator Craig, rival gangs, supernatural elements and mystery, conspiracy, fucking MOB BOSS KYLE?!?!? Kyle’s a bamf in this holy shit and bodyguard Stan, (this is Cryle btw and it’s fantastic) former k2, twenny, underground fighting rings, some KICKASS gang fights and the true antagonists bro the reveal was SICK! And when I say it’s a The Gangs All Here fic, I mean EVERYONE it’s wild and such a fun read it had me on the edge of my seat!
* And The Lightning Cracks The Sky by PastorCraigEnjoyer. Yeah yeah it’s cringe to rec your own shit sue me. But like Druid prince Kyle, Smokejumper Stan, forest fires, little mermaid but in the northern rockies ass plot, OVERLY PERCEPTIVE KENNY, mutual pining, magic, my beloved injury recovery (I gotta fuck Stan up ok) (I’m the worst)(giving Kyle chronic pain who me never) falling in love and saving each other’s lives, EVIL Cartman, I LOVED WRITING THIS ONE SO FUCKING MUCH it’s truly my baby.
* A quiet place (where I can scream how I love you) by sleep2thefr33zing. Coming of age style!!! So much emotional tension dude the pining is so fucking good, the first chapter is Stan’s perspective and the second one is Kyle and it’s BEAUTIFULLY PAINFUL WHEN THEYRE BOTH DOWN BAD BUT THINK THE OTHER ISNT!!! I love them being there for each other through all the bullshit of growing up, how resonant their falling outs are, it’s just so incredibly gorgeous and you really feel their emotions along with them.
* Knives by SparrowGrim. Ok so kyman isn’t my cup of tea but I’m putting it on the list bc some people do like it and this is an OBJECTIVELY FANTASTIC STORY!!! Tbh I only clicked bc I saw that it was Kyle centric (and that injury tag what can I say I eat that shit up) but I was HOOKED! Dark urbania, gangs running the streets, THE CODE NAMES SLAY SO HARD, we also got creek bunny stendy dip, the character relations are all so cool and the plot is WILD! Also Butters Kenny Stan and Craig are so badass jesus. Not even a ship I like but I loved the story.
* Peering Through Windows by Jwink85. C’mon I gotta have another jwink on the list and this one is SO. FUCKING. GOOD. K2 has been one of my favorites lately and THIS!!! We got dark cryle (my beloved) but when I say dark I mean CRAIG IS SO DEPRAVED!!! Like dude. But the story is THRILLING and artist Kenny is so kickass, Stan is a dad I literally cried over that small detail lmfao and I love jwinks Kyles and their idealistic nature (also I’m a sucker for any artist character) this story broke my heart and mended it again it’s incredible.
* Hunger Pains by Bellweather. Ain’t nobody doin Stan like bellweather MY SWEET PRECIOUS BOY UGH!!! The style is so great omg. The main four dynamic in this is wonderful, them trying to help Kyle through his ED (damn I really do read a lot of shit where Kyle’s suffering huh) all the characters are so well fleshed out and IKE I LOVE IKE IN THIS! The chapters have individual content warnings which is a great touch. Craig having prophetic dreams! Kenny dying multiple times! Chaos! Teenage camaraderie! There’s plenty of humor to make up for the dark shit but it DOES get dark. The mystery element in the beginning is really cool too I definitely have read this one multiple times.
* Find Somebody by hypercatt. STYLE!!! Stan-centric and so so so good, I love a platonic stendy team up too. some of the senior class goes “missing” and WHEN I TELL YALL I WAS so nervous that I read it out of order to make sure everything turned out okay lmao seriously this one had me WRITHING! There’s a gorgeous analogy throughout of physical hurts as a metaphor for mental illness and healing that just SPOKE TO MY SOUL!!! And there are so many beautiful moments, especially near the end, and the message of opening up and not running from your problems is beautifully written. Another one that occupies my brain lmao.
* To Have And To Hold by courtanie. Yes this is another one where Craig is SERIOUSLY DEPRAVED but hear me out!!! The plot, like I would DIE to adapt this to the screen, you feel like you’re watching a dark kidnapping race against time when reading this. And THE K2 IN THIS HOLY FUCK!!! Another one of my favorite Kennys ever and it’s so frustrating for the reader and the characters because WE ALL KNOW WHO TOOK KYLE BUT THE COPS ARENT DOING SHIT! The ending is unbelievably satisfying and the rest of the gang teaming up is so awesome STAN AND KENNY GOING FERAL OVERPROTECTIVE I live for that. But god the shit Kyle is subjected to, but he doesn’t lose that fire (Kyle ily sry)
* When The World Shakes, Hold Me by Bellweather & Blinkxs. The world building in this is PHENOMENAL!!! Post apocalyptic stuff, survival, STYLE!!! Some serious dark themes tho this is a heartbreaking read like damn check the tags frfr but the writing is MAGNETIC!
* -South Park- Style Sickfic/ Injury Fic Requests by AlwaysInSTYLE. Alright alright we all know I love my style hurt comfort and this is a request book/ oneshot series that’s JUST Stan and Kyle taking care of each other and I LOVE IT. you’d think it would get old but it DOES NOT. they’re not repetitive at all, and really fun reads! If you check it out, tell her PCE sent you we’re homies.
* Rookie Mistakes by espyonz. I love me some stenny and BRUH STANSTERION!!! Long oneshot that had me hooked. We got gentle hearted detective Stan who truly wants to protect and serve and is out of place in a corrupt police department. KENNY AS MYSTERION we know I love that shit, and he’s so awesome in this!!! The team up of Kenny Stan and Wendy to find missing people and uncover the truth behind their disappearances is AMAZING. We got Wendy as the tech girl which is SO slay (plus she and Heidi are together asjdhdks) and Kenny is hilarious in this, like he’s such a little shit and I adore this adaptation of his superhero persona. This one dropped LAST NIGHT and I’m so glad I didn’t make a red list post until now bc THIS NEEDED TO BE ON IT!!!
* Seven Candles by courtanie. Yep another one I’m tellin u, one of the best Kenny writers out there. So uhh Kyle in a Very Bad Situation again, like some of it was really tough to read. BUT!!! We got a war between heaven and hell!!! KENNY AS A FUCKING ARCHANGEL ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!? (I live for courtanie’s overprotective kenny holy shit) this is legitimately my favorite Kenny interpretation IVE EVER READ HES SO FUCKING AWESOME!!! Plus we got satan being Done with Damien’s shit lmao and Kyle making friends with a hellhound which is fun. THE FINAL BATTLE WAS SO COOL TOO I LOST MY MIND!
* Why Remind Me by Kasen. One of the best style oneshots BRUH it’s so good with such a wholesome ending and the FEELINGS CONFESSIONS!!! The boys playing superhero, then later we got high school style and an accident that leads to a reminder of a kiss and UGH ITS SO CUTE!! Just- just read this one I love it sm.
