Just a photo dump of some frosty moments the week ❄️
Everyone been enjoying the cold or loathing it? We haven't had snow yet! I know my kids will be excited when some eventually appears - at the moment though everything looks like Mr Freeze has attacked the town.

SORRY I DISAPPEARED
Hello there! It has been way too long since i updated you guys on how i've been doing, and i've probably only got myself to blame on this one. But i have FANtastic news to share! (get it? Cus i'm fan? Genious, i know.) I finally managed to get a job! And a decent one this time, no more cleaning mediocre school halls for me! (Horrayyy!)
So this entire hiatus hasnt been for nothing, i've been very hard at work finally being able to persue the thing i love the most, writting! Now i can officially call myself a journalist instead of an amature blogger. The self-improvement sure is real, love to see it. Sadly, I am constantly restricted from putting my heart and soul onto the paper in favor of transmitting what could be classified as useless information to whoever is bored enough to watch the news. And that constant restrain has made me miss the days of the good ol' Fan blog, so i guess you could say that's the reason i'm here. I've missed writting whatever i want to without the need to always double or triple check my work, its fun to not worry if every single word i type fits into my current streams of thought and stuff like that. But you don't wanna hear about all of that do you? You wanna hear about the funny stories! The authentic work experience i have gained! Atleast i hope so, because if not then youre probably in the wrong blog. But if that IS what you came here for, bluckle up bukaroo because im about to tell all about the working woes and friendly foes!
First off the job aplication process was VERY off-putting, my 2 future bosses took care of the interview and they asked... odd questions. They were also always a little too...rude. But thats ok! Nothing that i havent already handled. On the job i have met some interesting personalities such as suitcase! (I was given permission to state her name, duh) suitcase is very kind and funny, but she also has social anxiety, which is weird considering she is one of the few reporters we have, the type that usually goes out, interviews others and deals with harsh weather conditions for some reason. Suitcase is always busy going from one place to another so she can grab the needed fotage, and since im normally the one who writtes her scripts, i get to go with her sometimes! The news channel utilises this totally not ominous and cramped mini-van to cary all of the needed equipment and people. Surprisingly enough, my supervisor is the one who drives the van! She's quite chill, her voice is so smooth that i have to stop myself from yawning when i'm around her. Dont get on her bad side though, i once saw her almost yell at our make-up artist. Speaking of that, they both have some weird relationship going on, i genuinely have no idea if they are friends or enemies and at this point i am too scared to ask suitcase about it.
Working there is pretty chill, i tecnically dont need to phisically be there but hey, a bit more of social interaction wouldnt hurt. Besides, i wouldnt have met suitcase if i only sent my scripts via e-mail! So its a win-win! What else do i have to say abt work? Hmmm.... oh yea! I have a funny story to share!
On my first few days, suitcase told me that the make-up artist was an extreme chatter-box that preferably likes to "spill the tea" on everyone. But if you've been following this blog for a while now, you'd know that im not really good with understanding these types of frases, so for the longest time i thought that this guy actually spilled tea on people on porpose. (he looks really refined, so i just assumed he would be the kind of guy to like tea) So i, being extremelly cautious to not get tea on my lovely red paper, avoided him for like 5 days straight! He eventually caught on and complained to suitcase about it, she then told me so, and i explained my conundrum to her. After she explained what the frase actually meant, we couldnt stop laughting! I never actually apologised to the guy, i sure hope he doesnt hold grudges!

At Home Acylic Nails
Tumblr media
Items needed:
You may spend 100$ or more however in the long run your saving 50 to 100$ a month and can replace your own broken nail if you have a nail accident.
• Cuticle remover
• Buffing block
• Nail file
• Nail prep/ dehydrator
• Nail Primer. Alcohol-free
• 2 Dappen dishes or glass cups. Though I wouldn’t want to drink out of it afterwards.
• Acrylic nail brush or just tiny paint brushes. The better the quality the better the nail! Doesn’t have to be expensive just not those nylon or plastic ones
• Lint-free wipes
• Giant/ strong nail clippers and or scissors
• Acylic powder
• Acrylic liquid. It’s recommended to use the medium speed one . Especially if your a beginner. Aka acrylic monomer.
• Nail tips
• Nail glue. Recommend glue- IBD 5 Second Brush On Nail Glue. The tubes tend to get glued shut so I prefer the brush on glues. And I wipe off any glue on the outside to reassure it won’t glue it’s self shut.
• PURE acetone
• Cuticle Oil ( optional )
• Nail top coat and Nail base coat
• Pinching tool ( optional )
• Manicure brush ( optional )
• Cuticle pusher. A 2 sided tool that has a flat end and a knife end. Both sides are very sharp!
• Your definitely going to need a UV LED lamp polish curing Acylic timer light . You can find one for 20$ at Walmart. It’s preferred to buy one with 48w or higher.
Step 1:
Nail Prepping-
1. Apply cuticle remover with a lint-free wipe.
2. Push the cuticle back with the flat side. Be careful.
3. Buff the nail using your buffing block. Remove the dust with the manicure brush or a tissue/ wipe.
Step 2:
Nail Tip Application-
1. Pick out the right size nail tips. Make sure they aren’t too tight or they may pop off.
2. Apply glue to the end of the nail that will meet your nail bed. Don’t use too much or it will get every where. Trust me Ik lol.
Hold down tight for 15 seconds.
3. Cut nails to preferred length
4. File nails to shape them. I prefer squoval and or ballerina tips.
5. File where the nail tip meets your nail bed so it will be smooth. Doesn’t have to be completely smooth. Don’t forget to file underneath the nail tip for a more elegant look. To lessen the under-curve.
Step 3:
Acrylic Time! -
1. Pour the acrylic liquid in one dappen dish and acrylic powder in the other dappen dish.
2. Dip your brush ( paint or nail brush) into the acrylic liquid dish. Wipe the side on the inside top part of the dish to remove excess liquid.
3. After dipping your drush in acrylic liquid your gonna dip it in the acrylic powder. You’ll see it form a cloudy somewhat solid circle of wet powder around the brush. Your gonna wanna wipe it all onto the nail. The amount of powder you use depends on the size of the nail.
4. Quickly but steadily bush the wet powder evenly over the nail and nail tip. Wait a few seconds and it will get hard.
5. File the tops of your nails to even out the hardened acrylic powder for a sleeker look! You may need to file the sides if it gets a bit messy hah. Been there done that.
Step 4:
Nail Painting-
Normal Polish:
1. Apply a top coat over the acrylic nail. Air dry for 2 mins or 10 seconds with the LED light.
2. Apply your favorite color of polish. I prefer pink💕
And your done!
Gel Polish:
Apply sunscreen!
1. Apply nail dehydrator
2. Brush on nail primer
3. Apply a top coat to the acrylic nail. Let it dry any way you choose
4. Apply a base coat . Dry it with an LED light for 10 seconds
5. Choose your favorite gel polish (great deals on amazon and at Walmart) then brush on your first layer. Dry for 30 seconds
6. Brush on your second layer of gel polish. If you need to do it a third time go ahead. Dry for 30 seconds.
(Optional: place a tiny gem on your nail or flower nail stickers)
7. Apply a top coat. Dry for 60 seconds.
Your all done!!!!! And you look great ;) .
How to clean your acrylic brushes:
1. Soak your brushes in acrylic liquid ( aka acrylic monomer) for 1 hour.
2. Rinse with hot water and rub off the now mushy somewhat soiled acrylic powder.
3. Soak your brushes again for another hour.
4. Rise once more in hot water and rub away the mushy powder stuff.
5. Repeat if needed. Don’t soak brushes too long in acrylic liquid or they will fall apart! Also don’t use too hot of water, please. you don’t want to burn yourself.
How to remove gel polish:
1. Buy gel polish remover nail clips
2. Use a lint free wipes and put some pure acetone on them.
3. Put the now wet wipes on your nail and clip the nail clip onto your finger.
4. Wait 30 to 60 minutes then use your cuticle remover( the flat side) to scrape off the gel polish. It should be easy if you have 100% acetone.
And tour done! Now repaint those nails or whatever you did this for !

I don’t remember the exact moment when I became aware of being a feminist. Or of identifying so. But I do remember all the countless times when being a feminist has been a struggle.
It happens in every discussion, during every family gathering, it happened at the university cafeteria during lunch break and in my students’ hall accommodation when I was already under the covers and my room neighbour would make me angry with his statements. I have learned to expect the classic eye-roll as soon as I answer ‘Yes’ when someone states ‘So you’re a feminist’. With the peculiar tone of voice they always use when they say something like this - which is exactly the same when they find out I support LGBTQ+ rights, I am pro choice or welcoming towards migrants.
Telling people that you believe in equality for all can be tricky sometimes; not everyone will understand your point of view, because usually this implies the acknowledgement of our own privilege. But this is another whole story. I have now grown used to the usual expressions that come with my admission of supporting certain causes. Something that I have found quite hard to accept, however, is the fact that often supporting those causes, feminism in particular, has turned into upsetting me as well. And this is why I have realized that feminism must make me feel uncomfortable first.
Last year I read a book whose title was Manual for revolutionary girls - why feminism makes us happy - and it still is one of my favourite non-fiction volume when it comes to this topic. I absolutely loved it; the style is amazing, and the facts are indisputable. It states why we should all fight for gender equality; we all will benefit from it. The freedom from toxic masculinity, patriarchy and all the social constructs which have been built upon women in the past centuries would give us the chance to be who we truly are unapologetically.
The road to freedom is inevitably full of obstacles, and the first to go for it should be us. Every single one of us. Me. You. All the women in the entire world. With our own ideas of empowerment and of what makes us strong as individuals and as a collective. I am a firm believer in inter-sectional feminism, since I do genuinely think that every person has a different concept of what defines them as themselves and as a woman. And this can inevitably be a tricky point. And the first reason why feminism might be upsetting.
A couple of years ago I wrote a short dissertation on Islamic feminism; when I first began my research I was skeptical: I had always considered anything that came with a veil a form of oppression. But during the days, and across the readings, I found out that the white western feminism does not work for everyone in this world. Sometimes I still find myself thinking that feeling empowered by wearing a burqa might not be possible, but I have started to realize that not every woman with an hijab is necessarily oppressed. The same thing happened when I wrote my final dissertation for my Bachelor’s Degree; the topic was the female genital mutilation and saying that I felt physically sick going through some of the materials is an understatement. However the whole process of coming to terms with the fact that some people truly believe that they are doing the right thing for their daughters by practicing such a thing helped me to accept - even though not justify - that views on topics regarding women and their bodies can be completely opposite.
And this happens with a ton of other matters; feminism is supposed to make you feel uncomfortable even when you are the one fighting for it. Why? The answer is simple: our minds - even the most ‘woke’ ones - are filled with stereotypes of what the good example of a woman should be - and we should aspire to. And this is why it can be particularly challenging to accept certain point of views in the discussion for the liberation of women. Personally, I cannot lie and say that I am completely in favor of legalizing prostitution. Probably because a little part of me still believes that a woman could never consciously and in complete freedom decide to sell a sexual service - even though I try to fight this concept of the greater value of the female sexuality rather than the male one every time it is brought up. Or I sometimes still struggle not to call a slut a girl that might be wearing very revealing  - and why a dress on a woman is revealing but an unbuttoned shirt on a men is sexy? - clothes and be too close to my boyfriend.
Feminism has the right and the imperative of making us feel uncomfortable. We need to feel so in order to break the barriers that society has built around us over the time; we tend not to realize that we are still affected by centuries of patriarch ideology that would like to confine all of us to the kitchen and the bedroom. Feminism needs to make us question whether our opinions on certain topics are genuine or if the are only the consequences of what our mother, grandmothers and great-grandmothers have been taught to think. Feminism has the power to free our thoughts and so free us as well. But in order to do so, we have to discover our true and authentic selves. And we will be able to do it only connecting to the parts of us that we would like not to put into discussion.
- feminism must make us upset

Where can I find the instructions to operate my life?
Turning 27 next week, so far it's been a mix of unceraint monotony with a slice of joy and a pinch of darkness.
Are we all searching for a lighthouse to guide us through an ocean of thoughts or is it a journey where each day is that night before Christmas?
The answer still remains unclear, an ocean is normally restricted by our sight and the lighthouse could just be a Fata Morgana, so if we do reach our "destination" whatever it might be, does the heart hollowed by the voyage remain set on the light?
Today was a pleasant surprise, tomorrow is not a given.

This is an old image, maybe a year and a half ago. One of my favourites. He is a type of falcon, but I forget the same of the breed. If breed is the correct word? I was able to take this image as he belongs to my dad. He is a working bird, used to scare gulls away from public places as they can get defensive and attack people if they have nests near by (A little fact for you.).
[First off, I haven’t posted in a little while due to focusing on college work.]
Even though my boyfriend has started a new job, and I obviously have college, we are still managing to see each other frequently.
He drives, as for now, I am unable to take my diving test. Moments like being in the far with him, he sometimes holds my hand while driving, or times when we are together and he’ll just come up and hug me. He also has this thing where he’ll wink at me when we make eye contact, it always makes me laugh.
That feeling you get when you’re dating someone new, or at the start of the relationship, I still get that feeling. Almost like the fluttering of a birds wings.
Like my stomach has just become all fuzzy and full of glee. It’s almost difficult to describe, but I just know its a good feeling and it makes me smile, and I know I am at my happiest when I am with him.
Before I met my boyfriend, I really didn’t think there was anyone out there for me, and as cheesy as it may sound, I really feel like we were meant to find each other.
I am very much a hopeless romantic!
I had applied to a job in the gym he used to go to, we would visit the same ice-rink, I actually had a friend who was best friends with my boyfriends best friend’s girlfriend...if that makes sense? Haha.
Just thought I’d share my happy mood today.
Sending love and positivity to everyone, it’s almost the weekend. ;)
Love Anon.

WANNA BE TRENDY? Here are five hot creative concepts that’ll suit your photography.
Hello everyone and welcome to my second blog post! If you’re reading for the first time, then you’re in the right place! Today I will be elaborating on five trendy concepts that are popping in the photography world.
From my experience, the most trendy thing is to constantly be original. Everybody wants their own ideas and everyone wants to stick out. But sometimes following certain popular concepts can be beneficial for your work! I’ve honestly suffered from constantly wanting to be original myself. At times I’ve stressed so hard to ignore trends that my work has later suffered. Don’t be the old me, and be a kick-ass artist like you already are honey. HERE ARE FIVE TRENDY CONCEPTS FOR YOUR OWN PHOTOGRAPHY.
1. THRIFT SHOPPING (THRIFTING)
One popping trend for the “millennials” is to go thrift shopping.  Honestly, I absolutely don’t see one single bad thing about this trend! I personally have a shopping addiction, and thrifting is a gift from the heart for someone else. Or, it’s a place where people drop their old junk for newer future junk! Anyways, thrifting for your photo shoots is what the mighty Paris Hilton would say “that’s hot.” You can always find hot trendy style at any thrift shop but it depends on how dedicated you are yourself. I usually go through every single shirt until one catches my eye. These diamonds in the ruff of clothes can set you apart from other photographers. Pro tip, make sure your clothes suit well with your certain poses and scenes. If not, your photography could look off-putting.
Tumblr media
2. CHEAP PROPS
This isn’t just a trend, it’s a practice for the starving artist for raw imagery SUCCESS. Most of all successful photographers use props to either tell a story or for visual aesthetic reasonings. I totally recommend my readers to take advantage of the Dollar Tree. It’s a lovely store because everything is a DOLLAR, legit a dollar! You could buy streamers, glitter, prop toys, bubbles, string lights, and any cutout design cloths! These spectacular cloths could give you a texture if you place it over the camera's lens. After you get the cloth, your job is to find that certain originality in your work. With all of that, It’ll make your photography rawly aesthetic. The beautiful thing about dollar tree is that it’s EVERYWHERE in the United States. If you’re not around a God-given dollar tree, please take some time out of your busy schedule and find the nearest cheapest store. Trust me you won’t regret it and your work will thank you too.
Tumblr media
3. ANIMALS
I can’t legitimately stress enough about how adorable animals are. I love animals, you love animals, WE ALL LOVE ANIMALS!  I’ve noticed, especially recently that artists are using animals as a gateway for their creativity. I have no regulation why animals are so trendy in the industry. Possibly because of how boujee an individual can look. Imagine this, a girl in the forest with a parakeet on her topless shoulder. Isn’t that just beautifully powerful without even relying on a filter? I would 1000% say yes! Everyone should at least try once collaborating an animal with their models. You never know what raw images you can produce.
Tumblr media
Vogue.com
4. NATURAL SUNLIGHT
Don’t get me wrong, I love shooting in a studio with planned out lighting. But the raw texture of natural lighting can be visually breathtaking. This is why shooting in this particular lighting is becoming more trendy once again! The sun creates intriguing shadows over models that other lighting structures cannot develop so effortlessly. If you plan it far enough ahead of time, you can find mouth dropping locations. It’s just mind-blowing how simple lighting and a natural location can tell the story of a picture so amazingly. I would highly recommend capturing the sun at its two golden hours. When the sun is rising or setting, you can get this wonderful combination of orange, yellow, red, pink, or blue over you model and scene! You just gotta take that extra step to get your ass out of bed and capture that moment forever.
Tumblr media
5. SHOOTING WITH FILM
Lastly, shooting with a film camera can be trendy and raw at the same time! I personally love shooting with film because of how colorfully expressive the pictures can be. This reoccurring trend makes so much sense because shooting with film is a completely another perspective from DSLR’S. You don’t get the option to take 18,000 pictures of the same subject. With film, you only get a select few tries before you run out! DON’T FORGET film can be sooooooo expensive and you have to pay to get it developed. Sometimes the wait can be a few days but isn’t the waiting the most fun part? Haha It’s definitely a field I would highly recommend a photographer branch into. I personally feel photographers should indulge more in films not for just the trend, but for the overall respect for the cameras roots. We wouldn’t be here today without film. Side note, if you don’t have the extra cash for a film camera. You should download the app called “HUJI!” The app is stylized as a film camera. It is a form of filter sadly but it’s a free digital option!
Tumblr media
Stay tuned for next time! I hope everybody enjoyed this blog post because your work will thank you for it. I hope you enjoyed looking at my original raw photos, so please share and like! :)
Have a rawtastic day,
Cj

Did My Own Nails!
Brown with leopard print.
Tumblr media
It took 2 hours to finish both hands v.v . I could have probably don’t it in a hour but I wanted them to be perfect . Every time I do my nails they get better and better each time.
Please excuse my red hand. I forgot to put sunscreen on before using the UV ray nail dry . It’s so bad to use a lot so sometime when doing acrylics I just use normal polish instead of gel polish.
