“y’know darlin,” boothill managed to breathe out through a taut jaw and clenched teeth. “you bein’ this close ain’t exactly helpin’ me focus none.”

your fingers were slow, careful, precise as they pushed a few tiny wires apart, giving view deeper inside the little panel on boothill’s throat.

the position you two stood in was one all too familiar, boothill perched on your workbench with you between his thighs— the only new variables being your face way closer than he’s used to and your fingers proding around in his surprisingly sensitive wires.

it was an…odd sensation, to say the least. a small unpleasant stinging that simultaneously stimulated a rather pleasant shiver up his back with every small poke.

“time and place, cowboy.”

you responded quietly, tone a little flat with your tease from concentration.

“can’t help lettin’ my mind— wander, can i now?” his breath hitched a bit as you nicked a particularly touchy wire.

“if you let me finish this,” you lifted your head enough to meet his eyes, free hand gently smoothing out the crease in his brow. “i’ll let you show me just how wild your imagination can get.”

boothill bit back a scruff chuckle at that. 

“that enough incentive for you to sit still?”

“well, i reckon that’s plent— mmgh!”

a pair of mechanical hands tightly grab onto your hips as his shoulders tense, a knee-jerk result of your tweezers finding the out of place wire you’d been looking around for.

your hands paused, opting to ignore the way he audibly whimpered for raising your gaze a second time to check on him.

“you hangin’ in there?”

boothill’s fingers flexed as they held onto you, relaxing from squeezing your pants to a more gentle cradle of your hips.

“you know,” he swallowed thickly— as if his throat could even dry out, likely just a natural reflex— “you got a way of makin’ fixin’ me up feel real special.”

the slight waver to his voice isn’t lost on your ears— it was quite loud in them, actually.

“i’m hangin’ in fine, don’t worry your pretty head none.”

carefully retracting your tweezers, you stood up straight enough to lightly push his hat up, giving view to his face and cupping your hand over a blue-hued cheek.

“wanna take a break?” 

he nearly had to clutch his chest with the gentle concern that laced your tone.

boothill knew he was flushed, was purposefully avoiding looking you in the eye because a few pokes to some sensitive spots had him sliding his hands to your waist like a lifeline— not that what he could distantly feel of your skin against the synthesised nerves of his palms weren’t doing much to cool him off anyway. but he did…relax, somewhat. 

he always enjoyed when you’d touch his face, getting to feel all the unique little details of you; the gentle drum of your pulse and the little calluses from your tools. it somehow always manages to make the tension in his body ebb away, draining with an exhale that lightly fans against your wrist.

he shook his head with a quiet clear of his throat— another unnecessary function that served more as a tick than anything.

“nah, nah i’m alright.” he assured. it didn’t make him any less embarrassed to be having such a reaction. 

big bad criminal until you get a little too fudgin’ touchy, apparently.

“let’s just get this finished up, yeah? maybe we can move onto somethin’ more pleasant.”

your thumb gave two gentle taps to his cheekbone before it pulled away, reaching for your tweezers for the nth time.

“that’s my boy.”

oh how boothill’s chest bloomed at the simple praise, the endearing ‘my’ that slipped in with it licking up his ribs and curling to rest along where a drumming heart should have been.

“jus’ be gentle with me, will ya sugar plum?”

“you know i've always got ya.”

each plug or untangle of a little yellow or red cable had his systems humming, fingers occasionally curling into your hips every time a little surge left him biting his cheek a little harder.

“we’re almost done,” your voice is icing on an already cavity-inducing cake, though he’ll gladly take a toothache if it’s for you. “just a little longer.”

boothill was going fist to fist and losing with the urge to completely melt under your deft fingers.

“…keep talkin’ to me,” he requested with a murmurmurmur, cautious not to move too much. “helps me stay on t—” he had to bite back another whimper, cheek going between his teeth and eyes going to the ceiling. “—task.”

boothill didn’t miss the little tug of your lips.

“you know, you do this thing when you get shy.” you mused quietly, breath meeting the shell of his ear. “you bite your cheek ‘n look away. it’s cute.”

boothill couldn’t help but let out a breathy chuckle at your deduction. he tried to regain some of his composure, though the colour in his cheeks continued to betray him.

“i don’t know ‘bout shy,” he rumbled, keeping his voice steady as he could. “but i’ll take cute if it means i get to hear you keep sweet talkin’ me. keep this up and i might start enjoyin’ these repairs a lil too much.”

his voice was a little strained, though still held his usual humour.

“like you don’t love em already.” you teased back, gently closing the panel on his neck as it re-sealed with a small hiss. “you get all excited for me to fix you up, call you a good boy and send you on your merry way.”

“i’m still waitin’ on that last bit, y’know?”

you shook your head, popping his hat off his head and placing it on your own.

“good boy,” you pinched his cheek endearingly. “you’re all done. do you want a lolipop too?”

“think i deserve somethin’ a lil sweeter than a lolipop, don’t you sugar?” boothill’s face unknowingly deepens at the sight of you in his hat, brave words betrayed by a nervous tap in his finger and more blue to the apples of his cheeks.

“we’ll save it for when you’ve got a real booboo,” you took his hat off, using the brim to lightly tilt his chin up and give him a tender kiss on the cheek. for such a heavy hunk of metal, he nearly began to float.

“but there’s something to hold your sweet tooth for now.”

june 2024 octa + 4koma manga updates

As a reminder, no Episode of Savanaclaw manga chapter this month ^^ And without further ado, some of the highlights (in my opinion) of the latest manga updates:

This month's cover page illustration features Yuuta and Grim marveling over a chess board (since at this point in the story they're camping out in Savanaclaw). If you look closely, each of the pieces on the chessboard represent the relevant TWST characters; there are two card soldiers (presumably one for Ace and one for Deuce), a wolf for Jack, a hyena for Ruggie, and a lion for Leona on the "white" side. On the opposing "black" side (fitting, since Azul will OB soon) are two eel pieces for the twins and one octopus piece for Azul.

We continue the adorable overly flattering Ace from last month's chapter! Sad to say that I, too, would be completely fooled by this act-- asbfalebqejdqo The older merguard is also very cute and enthusiastic. HECK YEAH, IT'S TWEELS tERRORISM TIME BBABY 🤡 Jade and Floyd got sooo many good shots this chapter????? Love that the second page above shows us just how long Floyd is + how the two genuinely delight in scaring our crew (RIP Ace, he looks so close to death's door when he seeks Jade and Floyd peeking at him).

These panels paint the picture of the chase and fight being very frantic for our crew, but really being a chill game to the Leech brothers. They definitely have the upper hand this whole time, and the art helps to convey that feeling!

(Side note: that face Deuce makes with the pinched mouth is also top tier 👌)

So this chapter is the one where Leona swipes the keys to Azul's vault and robs him of all the golden contracts. This results in many, MANY distressed, panicked, and/or desperate expressions from Azul... all of which are soooo delicious <3 There's a ton more than what I've included here (I picked some of my faves), I just couldn't include them all because of Tumblr post image limits.

My favorite segment from the Epel comic! Grim is peak cuteness here, love that he curls into himself to brace for impact, INCLUDING THE FRIGGIN TAIL.

BATMAN AND ROBIN(2023) #8 SPOILERS

Their faces😭 He is so mad and she is so sad and clinging to him to apologize for her action😭😭

Honestly, Nika is partially telling her truth to Damian here, she only asked for Damian to help her find her sister, and he did, so she thanked him, promising to talk later. She just trying to buy time for her plans to work while stopping Damian from getting more involved and making Mila trust her.

Look at how cheerful and cute Nika is with her sister… Mila is so pretty… they are so cutee☹️☹️🥲

This is probably the first time they’re having fun and understanding each other, and Nika already knows she has made the decision to sacrifice this possible renewed kinship by betraying Mila's trust while keeping her safe. ( look at her sad face ungghggh my baby ueueee😭😭😭 she knows she will have two people she loves mad at her simultaneously in one single night…)

Just thinking that Nika still cares about her sister a lot, and probably knows this criminal life will not do well for Mila in the longest run, so she track her down and decided to make a plan to get her out… And all this time Mila is blinded by jealousy of not having power as her, then when she gets the power she doesn't even once try to find Nika😭😞😞

I'm just hoping Nika will keep in touch with their mother and tell her what happened to Mila…

Nika immediately blasts Mila with the ice guns once Mila wants to severely harm and poses a danger to Damian. Mila must have called Nika weirdo so many times as an insult when they were little kids, cuz Nika is still mad about this (I don't blame her, you go girl!! Tell her to back off, seems like your sister still doesn't know that words still hurt).

Nika came to him and Batman to ask for help to find her sister and make sure it would be fine for her to handle Mila's situation (minimal the chance for Mila to be sent to Gotham prison, and stick to her plan). She explains her plan and actions to Damian and tells him that it's not all an act with him.

She wants to return the favor by helping his cases and making sure that's fine with him too (She's so open to talk and gentle to Damian here… and meanwhile he looked so sad thinking she's leaving again so soon😭).

Man-bat in Nikola's style is sooo good!!! I love how he looks here, so brutal and threatening! This page is one of my favorite.

Love these panels too, Batman being dragged into the darkness by Man-bat… Shush why are you looking so shook here, even though Batman save you from Man-bat's strike a few seconds before… I thought you wanted him dead?

Erica's face lowkey reminds me of that one Shrek image… she's so funny with that stare she gave to Damian😂

I had a feeling that in the next issue, Nika would punch Damian's bullies for calling him names (look how she did with her sister, she definitely would not tolerate that I fear), or something they planned together this time would happen to get both of them to the detection.

CHAPTER 1: HOME AWAY FROM HOME

warning: slight, not too heavy spoiler for across the spiderverse; not super lovey dovey, just to youngsters in love hanging out with eachother, mostly platonic; lots of talk about food and cooking, just in case your hungry; cliff hanger, kind of, since it was already getting pretty long

a/n: This is my first time writing fanfic, I usually just write short stories. But, I thought this might be a good way to practice with the perk of being to write a bunch of self-insert stuff for myself and others to enjoy. Also, there's a lot of food in this cause I was kinda hungry when I wrote this.

You sat at the edge of your stripped, boho-esque hammock in running shorts and a form-fitting, white wifebeater with your heels off the ground. Your hair was a bit of a mess since you've just woken from a quick nap after work. You sat still, staring at the wall, contemplating what you should do for dinner.

"Maybe takeout... Chinese could be good, maybe some chicken and broccoli. Ugh, It's cheap, but I don't feel like picking anything up. And delivery is expensive... I should probably cook something. I could go for some arroz con salchichas."

Just thinking of all the food you could eat made you drool. You licked your lips as you drifted into lala land. Honestly, you might have never snapped out of it if you never got a knock on your street facing window. It sounded rhythmic, as if the person knocking was doing it to the beat of song. You quickly turn to the direction of the noise, startled out of your little food world, and see a familiar face in the window. It was Spiderman, but not the one from your universe.

You would know that, the reason being that you were the one and only Spiderman, or more correctly, Spiderperson in your world. You get up slowly, letting out a large sigh and stretching out your back.

"Ay, coño, I really need to get back into working out..."

The knocking becomes more frequent and eratic, as he grew more impatient. You could here his muffled yelling through the glass.

"Oi, hurry up slowcoach, I ain't got all day."

"Jeez dude, I'm going, I'm going!"

You jog across your apartment and reach the window after a few seconds. He was squating down on the fire escape, and you could clearly see his disgruntled face, even with his mask on. You snap the hooks on top of the window and raise it before pushing out the window screen onto his lap.

"Took you long enough mate."

"Well, I wasn't expecting a suprise visit from you, Brown. What're you doin' here?"

"Saw you weren't at 2099 today, thought I'd check up on ya, love."

Hobie's expression quickly changed from an annoyed pout to a cheeky smile as he spoke.

"Well, are you comin' in or not? I'm kinda busy right now." You turn and step to the side of the window leaning on the wall.

Bee starts climbing through, pushing off the top panel with his right hand and stepping in with his left foot. "I don't know, from the looks of it, you didn't seem too busy to me. Unless you consider daydreamin' important." His lanky body struggles to get through your window, and you offer him a hand and pull him through. He lands on his knees and quickly gets up while dusting off his pants.

"Sooo, why are you here again?" You ask, leaning back against the wall, with a quizzical expression.

"Like I said, I noticed your absence during our missions and at HQ today, so I thought I'd swing by and check on you."

You turn your head, looking at your small kitchen, set up right next to the doorway of your apartment. "Had to cover for my coworker at PathMart. She caught the flu or somethin'." You take a quick second to calculate what to say next.

"Hey Hobie."

"Yeah, l/n?"

You stand back up and look at him again. "Since you're here, I was about to make dinner. You wanna to stay and eat?"

"That sounds quite lovely actually, yes." He bounces over to you and throws his arm around your shoulder, taking off his mask with his other hand. "I heard Gwen and Pav say you're somewhat of a cook, but with your track record, I'd have to see it to adam and eve it."

"Please, I've spent years cooking for my little sisters and brothers, and they all loved my food. Plus, you're british, you shouldn't be that hard to impress." A wide smirk grows on to your face as you cross your arms and fix your posture.

He removes his hand from your shoulder and sets it on his hip. "Hey, what's that supposed to mean?"

"Don't think about it too much, make yourself at home, love." You put emphasis on that last word, mocking his heavy cockney accent.

You walk towards the kitchen and start grabbing all your tools and ingredients. A cutting board from behind the faucet, a chef's knife from the sink, some cans of sausage hidden in the cabinet above, a bag of rice tucked between a short wall and the fridge, and some spices from the drawer.

Spiderpunk gravitates toward the hammock you were laying on earlier and bends down to rummage through the mess underneath.

"Sweet, I didn't know you had a casette player. Where do you keep your tapes, babes?"

When i first saw him with his hair down? instant heart eyes jesus christ ive never drooled over someone so hard which must be why my post with the most notes is me gushing about his hair. Did you read dark crisis? What are your takes on it, did you like it?

I just watched a YouTube video telling the whole story and I haven't seen you comment on it besides the amazing 'the more things change the more they stay the same' post

I honestly just found the whole thing discombobulating with all the talk of darkness and how it would better or worsen the multiverse. Like ooo the darkness is sentient... or not. It's just created from Pariah's own insanity... or something? (Dude, idk, they talked about it back and forth so much that I couldn't remember what the truth was by the end of it.)

Slade's motivation throughout the story (when he wasn't being mindfucked by the darkness) was ehhh. He wanted everything to end so that people wouldn't have to feel pain like he did when his children died or were hurt. Which, idk, is pretty weird to me since he didn't used to like endangering innocent people and would sometimes protect innocents even if no one paid him. (EDIT: I totally forgot about Slade's involvement with the destruction of Bludhaven when writing this ALKDA. Slade's willingness to protect the innocent depends on who's writing him.) It just seemed a bit out there for him is all. An overreaction, if you will.

Hal and Barry had pretty solid interactions throughout the story. They were getting shit done for sure.

Loved Roy and Dinah's reunion hug.

Black Adam was kind of annoying being all Mr. Doom and Gloom. I understand it was meant to juxtapose the whole theme of light/darkness and hope/despair but whatever. It was also weird af that they made him look like The Rock in one panel.

Gar got an eye patch after getting his eye shot out, and I thought it was interesting how his eye looked perfectly fine when he transformed into a tiger but then a scar appeared across his eye when he transformed into some werewolf looking beast.

Jon's solo fight against the dark army (or whatever the fuck they were called idr) was one of my favorite parts. Mostly because it reminded me of Ponyboy getting his shit rocked during the Greaser vs. Socs rumble.

I like that Clark jumped in to save him from Doomsday at the last second.

Let's see... there were definitely some Titans that could've gotten some more lines in. Some of them didn't really have a major part in the story. They were mostly background fighters.

Dick was not one of those Titans. He had a pretty big role in this story as the "light" in the darkness. Honestly pretty insane that his willpower was so strong that he was able to unpossess himself (he was a candidate to be a Green Lantern at one point though sooo). I thought it was hilarious as fuck when Dick gave his speech to Bruce about his little candle and how he wanted to keep candles lit to bring hope to other people, and then Bruce wordlessly took the candle out of Dick's hand and snapped it with his thumb ASLDKJA, and Dick was all *shocked Pikachu face.*

I mentioned it before but I personally feel a little iffy about how much DC is pushing Dick as the new leader of the future. Mostly because when Bruce previously wanted Dick to become a member of the Justice League, Dick declined. And now Bruce isn't even really giving Dick the option. He's just like, "So anyway the world needs a leader while the JL is on recess annnd that leader is going to be you." Y'know. Despite the fact that being the leader is stressful as fuck and Dick had to step away from two different teams because he was mentally and emotionally worn down from them.

Also, I hate that they didn't keep all the events of this story contained to one book. And the veeery ending with Waller and her idea to get rid of metahumans just made me think of Nightwing: New Order. I'm doubtful that idea is going to feel new or fresh in any capacity, but we shall see.

All in all, the event was kind of just... meh. The art was probably my favorite part. It gave us some good whump shots of Dick and Jon. It also made Dick look more intense and serious which made him feel like his old self. That I appreciated.

Hello Anon, I did get the last one but am responding to the more recent one you sent. No worries about double sending, sometimes we forget we send things particularly when it comes to Anon asks :) To tell you the truth, the guy has been on and off with messaging me. I haven't heard from him again in about two weeks when I last messaged him and got no response back ha ha. I'm going to attach some messages he sent referencing her. I couldn't find the description of her for some reason unless I'm just not looking in the right places within the conversation. I downloaded my Instagram data again today, so I could text search the entire conversation, 'cause you can't do that in the Instagram app itself. I do know however somewhere in the context of our conversations he specifically said something about her being in another place in this world and swear at some point he mentioned her hair color being blonde.

From what he was saying, it is implied that there was SOMETHING written in their divine blueprints (this woman you speak of and Jensen's). My guides say it was "not meant to be to begin with" like I said in my last answer to you because believe it or not, this relationship with this woman the psychic guy spoke of was actually an unintended "side effect" of someone's black magic who was trying to basically insert herself into his divine blueprints as his "woman of destiny" (in other words, it was NOT Danneel's black magic). When I speak of black magic, divine blueprints, etc. I did talk more about the divine blueprints vs divine plans vs akashic records stuff here in this post I made last April if that will help at all. However, like that guy said before, the "higher powers" do allow certain things to happen as a result of someone's magic to happen to the intended target based on their karma. Or as the guy described it: "Even worse is the "pocket of karma" that Danielle created for Jensen and that woman. They were supposed to go through their trials gradually, but she dumped all the shit on them at once. When she returned him and began to ruin their destinies and prevent their meeting. In a way, you could look at Divine Blueprints like a so called "bead maze" where you can move beads around on different "tracks" so to speak. See where above he said what I highlighted in orange? In the example below I showed of landmark events and such you can think of them like "beads" on a bead maze.

Some of them you can move around closer to the other "beads"/events on the timeline below and compare the moving of these beads with a finger to magic moving around these events. Say for example you could move things around so that all new jobs and promotions occur next to each other with black magic and then also move them closer to the "start" of the "bead maze" or life path in this scenario. In other words, make the good things happen sooner. However, this would also move around things like unemployment, significant injury or illnesses, traumatic events, etc. to make all of those bad things happen closer together.

I hope my description about divine blueprints above helps at least a little bit in understanding the things I'm talking about here and in other posts of mine. I will be honest with you about what you said that I highlighted in pink, many people are full of themselves. When I went to the Charlotte con last year, I myself strangely felt out of place not and like I don't fit in. As for my page here on Tumblr I get A LOT of asks and PMs about Jensen's match this lifetime and who she is as you probably have noticed. Frankly, it's just about always wishful thinking on their behalf because the demon that is "latched" onto Jensen is making them believe they have a chance and possibly also their own respective demons. I said before in my case personally I'm aware he isn't for me and I'm totally okay with that, as we have different love languages, different lifestyle preferences, his focus on image is too much and I personally don't care about what others think of me mostly, etc. He would straight up drive me crazy as anything besides a friend period.

I find this entire story you shared with me to be very interesting and one reason I love writing on Tumblr. I did watch the clip and do find it interesting he seems to be looking around the actual room when he's not talking, as opposed to one or two spots when not speaking then back to Jared or whoever he is talking to on the stage (or directly at a person if he's being asked a question). I do not think you're talking crazy here. Ba'alat Mark's higher self did say what you said about him hoping she'd be there is actually true. I thought that was very interesting for sure he said that... Man, I do wish she would have told you this funny story because I would've loved to have heard it myself! Sigh... guess we'll never know unless she ends up here on Tumblr or you hear from her somehow ha ha.

Jensen's divine blueprints are definitely more complicated than a lot of other people's possibly because his were "tampered" with by so many "witches" if you will. I think that if he were to run into her again, I do have a feeling he would want to converse with her more. I do believe what you observed is true. My guides did also tell me that this woman the psychic guy spoke of is one of those things where "it could happen" should Jensen choose a white road not a black road. Jensen's been on a black road for a long time, maybe not intentionally. I don't really like the path he is on now and I do hope with his new projects (Tracker, Countdown, etc.) he starts to get back on the right track.

Aaand the second part for Trimax Vol1!

Oh yeah we’re starting with a beautiful page right away. Look I don’t know how he does it but Nightow has sooo many pages throughout the manga that alone could be amazing prints in itself that really show just how good an artist he is. It looks like a relatively simple page, but even with such simple things as some clouds, the earth and the falling rockets, you have to consider how to arrange it. Look at that beautiful distribution of black space, the clouds kinda splitting the image in half, but the earth is a bit below, so like 1/4 of the whole page. And the middle rocket being just a bit closer to the right one, so the distance between these is not so even and boring.

Knives really doesn’t get it, why Vash is angry, does he...It’s crazy that he is so much up in his head that he cannot understand why the killing of so many people including Rem could make Vash upset.

Also uuuh you don’t kick your brother like that. Man, Vash really lost everything on that day, even the one person that survived and which he thought was his family, the only person that could have understood him.

The beginning of the nickname™ ! Vash questions it one time and then he just got used to it :D

Nightow likes to tilt the angles in his panels really really often! I don’t think that it’s always a deliberate choice to make a specific scene more dynamic but that it’s just reflex when he makes the storyboard, adding a little tilt here and there. Hehe noting this for myself, too. I used to be pretty wild with my panel shapes and the contents because I read and drew lots of Manga. In class I got the feedback to tone that down a bit, and rather make the content be dynamic instead of the panel shapes, which is why now I’m being very non-exaggerative Now, seeing this, I think I want to consider being just a bit more loose with panels and angles and stuff. You want to keep the real flashy stuff for the most action-based scenes but adding a little spice here and there could be nice! (Though I guess that also depends on the kind of comic you’re making)

My non-attentive ass just noticed now that there are different kinds of sand steamer. That’s actually pretty cool!

I like that sometimes we don’t see the mouth and full expression of the characters, like here with Vash. It just adds to his expression and his inner feelings, which we can only speculate about.

OOOOH noo you’re not a monster D: D: He looks so..devastated. All he wants is to be friends with humans, to live a nice life, and then people view him as a monster and it visibly hurts him and the worst part is, he’s probably thinking the same thing, agreeing with them.

Finally I get what the deal with this guy is here! It always slipped past me that he’s being used. 

Oh and this page here, huh. We can really sympthasize with the dad here, like yeah I can definitely get that motivation. There are SO many heavy themes in this manga, so many conflicts, and SO convincingly portrayed...oof.

I love that the main romance of JSHK is meant to be mutually all rather frumpy. It's so cute lol. Naturally in the world, Nene-chan and the Yugi are all not much to anyone.... it is a cute contrast to something like AoiAkane, where Aoi is a stunning girl and Akane isn't unattractive (he's well-liked, and other girls do crush on him, we see in the valentine's event!), and NatsuSaku where both are conventionally beautiful (Natsuhiko's personality is his foible...)..... It is cute Nene-chan and Amane and Tsukasa all seem like, "not applicable" to anyone lol ... all a little offputting.

In a manga depictions of attractiveness are pretty vague and maybe some people would mock the lack of differentiation as they see it, but man narratively I really like it, and I think Aida-sensei does a good job conveying some sort of crungy rat quality to the Yugi lol, with their big wide eyes, their choppy hair sticking all up, their weedy little bodies.

This panel is so like, ah god lol. yabai....!

cockaroach... funny weird little bug.... a girl has never told this guy "I like you" before... wwwww.... I promise I dooo find Amane so handsome, but I like the context that he's conventionally not ....

ahhh I really like in the genderbend escapade, how much Hanako... BARELY changes... it makes me really imagine his androgynous swag lol

I think the scales of attractiveness are so flexible lol, being a feminine guy is fine, Mitsuba isn't off the grid; he's higher than the Yugi (his personality is just nothing...)... something about Hanako ... he's barely altered by gender .... it's funny that SAKURA, as a beautiful feminine GIRL, gets flipped completely into a handsome masculine GUY, like, the true 'equivalent' in social perceptions (she doesn't become a beautiful dainty guy... lol...) ..... while Hanako, oh he's to the left. It makes me feel like, wow. He'd just be a weird looking funny frumpy girl as much as he's a weird looking funny frumpy guy, and he's perfectly some middleground of ambiguity where, there's not much to change other than his, like, hands.

Uuuuughhh its funny... Its sooo endearing then, that, Amane x Nene x Tsukasa can ever have moments of being spellbound by each other. I love that Hanako can be so bewitching to Nene-chan, even as he looks like a little bugeyed funny ghoul....

It is cute to be the first girl to see him like.... this....

and it's veeeery sweet that Amane can look at Tsukasa, ratty funny little guy, and feel enchanted 😭 breathless ...

It's sweet that he feels such awe INSTANTANEOUSLY with Nene-chan, an emotion no other boy has felt for her....!

it's sweet that Tsukasa seems to have always felt that awe looking at his older brother, reading to him, petting him....

With Yugi x Nene, in all directions, it's just so sweet.... it's so sweet to be sooo especially into each other, to see such an angel in someone nobody in the whole school will bother with a second glance.... weird looking kids with no friends....! aghhh she's sooo,,, she's like. a little bit insane (canonically). she wants to destroy an entire realm (a realm that has been causing very plot-relevant problems, but still). i'm pretty sure she wants to kill god. she has so much autistic swag it's not even funny. WITNESS! some actual quotes from the story: - "It was as though she had no idea how to talk to people" - "Her tone never matched what she was trying to say. Often, she would forget to put correct intonations in her speech, making questions sound like statements or vice versa" - "[Nephis's] awkwardness seemed to disappear whenever she talked about things that she felt confident about, like ancient heroes. Or killing things" - "[Nephis was seen] intently observing how Cassie talked and behaved around them. Was created by the author because he felt bad about naming a one-off shitty character ("bad" Tom) Tom instead leaving him nameless. To quote the author commentary on "good" Tom's introduction page: "There is something in this comic I've been eager to include, however, and that's token 'good guy' Tom. His name is Tom, and he's a good guy, thus proving that not all Toms are like that one Tom. This Tom isn't the least bit manipulative, his extracurricular school activities all benefit society and raise awareness in some way, he's rescued at least three puppies from various situations, and he genuinely loves the first three live action Star Trek series." Note: it is later reveal that part of the reason that "he's rescued at least three puppies from various situations" is that without his knowledge he was given a magic mark that gives him the power to sense when puppies are in danger. I'm soooo glad that the whole arranged marriage thing was played straight and there was no question of sanji potentially leaving the crew for a marriage bc he loves women sm or whatever. OH MAN these chapters are great. I love the buildup to whole cake - the tension is excellent, and it's really hard to tell at this point where the story will go.

we still haven't learned a lot about the vinsmokes yet and thinking abt it now, sanji's reaction doesn't even tell us that much about them - he's prone to self-sacrifice so he probably would've gone no matter what

I mean its obvious there's a reason sanji has never mentioned his biological family before so clearly it isn't a huge leap that they're evil, especially as we slowly learn more abt them

i bet this is the chapter that originally introduced lucy’s deaf ear! i mean, they haven’t really brought it up since the prologue chapter, i think.

we’ve got some great faces in this one. the eyes in the early pages are so appealing to me, we’ve got the dot eyes and the “kirby eyes” (pictured above) and then we get that sorta fusion of them that kinda looks like the eyes i draw!

see, like that. also what’s this about girly romance movies? BRING THAT BACK!!! that would be such a cute reference omgggg

anyways yeah, the bit of this chapter is genetics and the different species of the cats! lucy’s deaf ear is attributed to her being a blue-eyed white khao manee, which reflects real life! lucky that she didn’t lose it in both of them. they do a cute bit where yashy thinks her own blue eyes will turn her deaf. i really miss jokes like that, the pets are so cute...

anyways mike’s a korat (makes a point of being like “surprised im not a russian blue?” which after looking at them im kinda surprised too!) and daisy comments that she thought mike was a british blue shorthair because he’s “so intellectual.” first of all, he’s totally not a british shorthair and daisy is stupid, but more importantly, what an interesting lore bit this is! everybody is so knowledgeable about cat breeds (makes sense! they’re cats!) but they also have preconceived biases about people of those breeds, likely based on common traits those breeds share in the real world. if you wanna overthink it a bit, daisy just racially profiled mike! looks like yashy is taking the second-place for racism this time around.

daisy is half selkirk rex and half ragamuffin. looking at pictures of those cats, it seems like she represents her breed best when she’s been out in the rain for a bit! she must put a lot of work into those curls.

check out this sequence at the end of page 3. this is soooo cute! lucy getting so visibly envious of someone else getting attention from mike feels like a rarity...

paulo shows up to boast about his breed too! the more they compare their genetics, the weirder it feels. but in a goofy way, because it’s all obviously so lighthearted! paulo is a somali, and the way his breed looks in real life reminds me of a warrior cats character. he mentions his dad is “kinda lion-ish,” can’t wait to see that guy. i headcanon him as sounding like bob from bob’s burgers.

this is another really cute sequence. i like seeing mike and lucy just be friends. sooo cute... and LOOK AT DAISY!! THE SPELL CANNOT BE BROKEN!! PAULO IS TOO COOL!! i’m huge on paulo x daisy so i’m probably gonna gush like that whenever i see them together, haha

the following panels are also such a fun microcosm of what paulo and lucy are. it’s like, the easiest way to explain their dynamic to someone. so perfect!

anyways, yashy claims to be a golden retriever (obviously unintentional but it reminds me of all those “attack helicopter” jokes from like 2016) and david shows up asking to hook up with the supposed golden retriever, only to see yashy and blanch, somehow avoiding getting called the p-word. i wonder why mike gets singled out so much? poor guy.

in the final panel, we get a really funny david drawing and they toss in sue and amaya’s breeds for us to gobble up like the LEECHES we are. obviously, sue is a european burmese, but she’s missing some of the markings you might expect from a cat like her. amaya is a super obvious tabby though, she’s right.

i figured i wouldn’t have much to say about this chapter, since it’s pretty one-note. i’m fine with putting it all in one big post! NEXT TIME: Gone Fishing!

When do you think Inuyasha caught feelings? I constantly reread the very beginning and try to find out! I know that it’s common for the character to not be consciously aware of their feelings (especially in Rumiko’s work) buuuuut we had that scene with Kagome realizing her feelings for Inuyasha at the tree! So I always wondered how Inuyasha would react if he had a clear AHA moment like Kagome. Or like the exact panel when he crossed the line from friend to ///blush////. I switch back and forth between thinking inukag was platonic for just a tiny microsecond or Inuyasha was always in denial about liking Kagome. Who by the way? Is pretty flirty with him from the get go?

I think the Yura of the Hair arc was the turning point in their strained relationship. They became friends and Inuyasha gained respect for her. Then by the time we get to Sesshomaru’s plot with the Unmother, we are potentially in crush territory because of the Tessaiga! And maybe Kagome’s turning point was the Noa Mask arc. He was trying to look cool for her by then- WHICH IS SO FAST!! Idk how he kept it together in the Fateful Night in Togenkyo arc! Kagome kept hitting him directly in his weak spot. Seeing her naked? Wearing his haori, and that line about not being disgusted with his blood because it’s his? Like Jesus Christ Kagome!! Give the poor guy a second to breathe 😂 The way she accidentally swooped him off his feet will forever be funny to me.

I completely agree about the Yura of the hair arc! Kagome went from being "this annoying girl who looks like the woman who killed me" to "oh this girl is actually pretty brave and resourceful actually".

It's also coincidentally when he called her by her name for the first time, and Kagome really hated being called "woman" or just "you" so to use her name showed that he respects her (side note, it's also why I dislike when he calls her "wench" in post-canon fanfics). The Tessaiga plotline is also a good one, he again saw how courageous she is when she followed him without any hesitation and stood up for him in front of Sesshomaru!

Another important one is the spider head arc, where he realized how kind and caring Kagome is, which I've talked about more in details here.

But the moment when he crossed the line from friend to ///blush//// as you so well described, imo is at the end of the arc where Kikyo gets resurrected:

This scene is also why I think it's sooo funny when people say he sees her as Kikyo's replacement because... he literally doesn't lol. At the beginning of this arc he says Kikyo's sad face made him feel "like he did something wrong" while here, Kagome's happy smile makes him feel "relieved". He starts crushing on Kagome based on qualities she has (the ability to cheer him up and her playful nature) that are different from Kikyo...

So this was the start of him crushing on her, but the real turning point and when he really realized his feelings for her is the other Sesshomaru arc, where she got put in danger and he realized how much it would hurt him to see anything happen to her....

That is not a hug between besties 😭 It's also after Kagome came back to him and hugged him back that he said "I thought it would be better if you were far away, but it's when I saw your face that for some reason my strength returned. That's when I realized... I want you by my side Kagome." to me that is 100% when Inuyasha realized he was developing romantic feelings for Kagome! 

I think it's interesting that you say Kagome flirted with him early on, because I don't really remember that? Except that one line above where she teased him for "looking at her with desire in his eyes"? I think she started flirting with him after this whole "I want you by my side Kagome", like when they had to watch over a dead woman together and she snuggled up to him.

Also yes, Kagome very first sign of crushing on Inuyasha was when he saved her and Sota during the Noh mask arc!

But Kagome was in denial for a looong time 😭 She knew they weren't "just friends" (not that platonic relationships are lesser, just that there was clearly also romantic tension between them) but it really wasn't until chap 175 / episode 48 that she realized she really was in love with him! 

Also everything you said about the Togenkyo arc is SPOT on, I still don’t know how Inuyasha survived that LMAO

Today is another day of work and you were late because of the train, the peak hours didn't help...

You were working in a building were various companies had agency in, so it was very uncommon for you to meet someone you knew in the entrance. That detail was something you appreciated truly, it means that you could still relax until you ascend to your company floor. No encounter with any boss or colleagues, no need to speak with anyone, just yourself and an earphone in your ear. So even if you were late you still had a lift ride on yourself to fully relax before work!

You press the button and wait for the lift, when it got there and the doors opened you saw a very tall man already in there. You didn't mind and entered in the lift anyway. You couldn't help but look descretly at him, he had a pretty handsome face with dark pink hair and a stern look. A black and white scarf was hiding his mouth and he was wearing a complete black suit with a deep blue shirt and shoes. You avert your gaze quickly when you saw him slowly turning his face towards you. You felt his gaze looking at you but he didn't say anything and turn to look towards the doors again. You sigh quietly while ruturning to your original goal : relaxing!

But then you heard a loud noise coming from upwards. And a second after, the lift stopped moving.

Panicking, you removed your earphone, looked around and finally looked at your lift mate. Himself turn around and spoke "try to press the emergency button" You pushed it immediately and both of you waited, occasionally glancing at each other. After 30 seconds a voice came out of the emergency system. "Hi, we have already located the broken lift, are the persons in there alright?" you looked behind you at the tall man who noods, confirming he was okay. You spoke "yes we are, there's both of us... How long exactly are we gonna stay stuck here?" You tried to not panicking too much but you really wanted to know when you were going to get out. "We have already send one of our engineers, from what I saw you will be out in approximately half an hour" At least now you've got a good excuse for your delay, you sigh and responded "Thank you we will be waiting then". The call ended here but now you relized that you had to stay in that little space with a complete stranger for some times.

You sat quietly alongside to the control panel while the big guy stayed standing on the other side of the lift. The man was looking at the door waiting silently for it to open.

"Welp at least we have now an excuse for being late at work" you tried to initiate a small talk with him.

"... I always try to come here in advance, so I won't be anyway."

"Ahah yeah it's a good strategy against unpredictable problems." He looked at you with a puzzled look.

"Yes it is."

'Great, he doesn't even make an effort to make this easier.' You decided to still try to talk to him, it was at least a distraction from the stressful situation you were in. "Sooo... In which company do you work in?"

The guy sighed and finally sits while looking at you with his stern look. "I work in the Totland company" "..." "And you?"

'Omg progress!!' you think happily. "I'm working in the Desing Straw company. I heard a lot about the Totland one, it's famous and apparently the best bakery chain in the country! It must be really interesting to work there."

"Yes it is, it's a familial buissness and we all get along, it doesn't even feel like work"

"I understand this feeling! In mine we're all good friends so it doesn't feel totally like work!"

The both of you continued talking about your jobs and you noticed the passion he had for his when he talked about it. He was really an interesting person when you get him to talk more. Eventually you heard sounds coming again from upward and the lift started to move again as the both of you stood up. His intense gaze continued fixing you and the doors finally opened.

He spoke as you two made your way out "... Thanks for the talk it was nice and makes me feel better about the situation" You were really surprised by this statement.

"You were stressed about this too? I couldn't have tell if you didn't tell me!" You saw his cheeks raise meaning he was smiling a little.

"Maybe we will meet each other again soon, have a nice day"

It weren't actually the relaxing session you were hoping for but it was definitely a good start for the day.
