He just packs up way too many luggages, packs Damian up too, and leaves while Harvey's at oh his back breaking, gruelling office job.

It's only when he's on a bus that he realizes he forgot the rest, but that'd be cruel! Their boys loved their father.

Dick, who's in his I Hate Dad phase, is extremely hysterical while they leave to find Bruce. Only stopping occasionally to fix his eyeliner, then start over again.

Jason, Harvey's second oldest, drives beside them on his motorbike.

He guesses its an extra middle finger to him to not wear a helmet. His beloved little hellion, raised on the devil's edge.

"Listen to me; If I find him, I'm moving back home. If I don't, I'll put you in the ground."

Now; Bruce does find a place. It's a little town with big characters.

Harley has a diner that she's more than happy to welcome him in, even if Bruce, Spoiled Spouse of the Year, can't quite pick up.

But there is someone in there who catches Bruce's attention. Towns mechanic.

Clark, his name tag says, who played with Damian behind Bruce's back while he talked to Harley.

He smells of salty motor oil; Fresh sweat, smoked apple pie. His eyes are dreamy blue, rendered with sharp cleverness. And Clark likes him.

Clark recommends him a good motel, brings Damian some toys to play with, even brings his own babies so they can have a playdate. " They're not mine. The toys! These two are. I have a receipt from the hospital."

When Harvey comes to pick him up, when Bruce jumps in his arms, claws at a pristine shirt stained with his brand new blisters and cracks and worked hands, he's not awkward.

How do you think Alec would have handled getting the Valkyrie treatment? Being made into a puppet in the same way that he did to other people, his sacrificial suicide being subverted by another cape who uses people as tools but in a much more complete and permanent sense, coming back wrong and having his cape identity irrevocably a part of his body and self, and no longer being able to take off the mask, is this anything?

see i've rotated this extensively in my mind before because i think coming up with how a cape's design would turn out if they got glastig uained is a really fun exercise (do that shit to lisa for some Fun eyeball body horror!!) but i'm struggling to come up with what would happen to alec :( the most obvious answer is the crown becoming like. i would say "on the 'up'side this is a hot new contender for scenarios wherein lisa could feasibly decide alec is her new sopping wet fixer-upper" but she already has an even more absurd and unstable option (that one cop) so as usual alec remains background. btw he would be offended on taylors behalf that lisa had replaced taylor with victoria (who he does not like because shes annoying) and entirely oblivious that taylor had ever thought or said anything about him being sucks and utterly lacking in interiority. Your brain is literally gynormous. Do you think Damian's and Dick's relationship is paternal? Because, as someone who has actually had to raise their sibling (do not recommend) it looks more like a guy that had too much in his plate trying to be the best caregiver he could, but not really being a parent, if that makes sense. I feel like the idea of him wanting to adopt him feels like kind of a retcon, couldn't really see it in the og run. But of course, it could be because it's not exactly the same as my experience (abusive father, incapable mother, yknow the drill). What do you think? All your posts are so good.

Also while you're at it, what do you think of Dick as a parent? Some elseworlds have played with the concept, and main continuity did something too with Olivia but T*m Tayl*r fucked that up too. I also wonder how Damian would be as a dad, but I don't think I've ever seen any stories with it.

omg anon thank you and thank you for asking!! this is literally one of my favorite topics!! i was thinking about making a post on this and now you gave me the excuse for it!!

Long story short, I don't think that “parental” is a binary thing. I mean, I know several bio-parents who are just guys with too much on their plates, trying to be the best they can, you know? And people can see parent figures in all kinds of relationships that aren’t blood or traditional moms/dads, especially with people who didn't know each other from birth. There are a million ways to be parented, and a million ways to act as a parent.

The way I think about it is, is Dick Damain's John Grayson? No, I don't think so.

But is Dick Damian's Bruce Wayne? Yes. Totally. Absolutely.

More under the cut bc I have a lot of thoughts.

I think to talk about Dick and Damian, we have to start with Dick and Bruce. So much about Dick and Damian is a reflection of the original Dynamic Duo, and I think that's very much the case with this element as well. From the start of their very long comic history, Dick and Bruce have been dancing around their relationship. We get early comics that say they're "like" father and son, we have Bruce saying he couldn't care about Dick more than if he was Bruce's son, but we also have places where they call each other their best friends, where they act more like brothers, etc etc.

When it comes to who our parents are, I think there is the responsibility, and the result. Certain people have the responsibility, the duty, to be our parents, and sometimes (because death or illness or being shitty people), they aren't able to meet those responsibilities. That never removes the responsibility; they don't stop being the parent. But they aren't able to create the result of us becoming good stable adults. That's where other people can step in, where the parental figure appears, and those are the people that we actually point to when we say "they made me the person I am today."

In fandom, we see a lot of Dick not wanting Bruce to replace his father, of him asking not to be adopted. I think this is a fine characterization that works with who Dick is, but Bruce is actually the one to say that he is not going to replace Dick's father. He says it completely unprompted, too. This is withholding the responsibility of being Dick's parent from Bruce, keeping him at a distance and reserving it as an honor for someone who can't hold it anymore, even as Bruce demands responsibility for literally everything else about Dick.

And I think that it's very telling of what Bruce's idea of a father is. The thing about having a dead parent at a young age is that the person of your parents is still tangled in the role of parent in your life; Mom is mom, not Martha, and because she's dead, the image of both Martha and "mom" is frozen. For Bruce, the relationship of father and son is frozen in the relationship of specifically his father and him. Of course Bruce is not Dick's father; Bruce himself is so different from what his conception of a father is. And as a fellow son, for Bruce, someone who just got back from 7 years abroad studying to be Batman, for whom the nearly 20 year old wound is still fresh, the idea of even wanting another father doesn't make sense, particularly for a boy that Bruce identifies with so hard that he becomes the third person ever to know who Batman is.

This looming memory is even worse when it's Dick's turn to be Batman. While Bruce looks at Dick and sees the memory of his own loss, the shadow of his own grief, Dick is looking at Damian and seeing Bruce. Dick knows very well who Damian lost; Dick is grieving what Damian lost more than Damian is. Bruce couldn't conceive of replacing a father, but Dick is struggling to imagining himself replacing Bruce at his job, much less who he was in his personal relationships.

But even if Damian isn't Dick's responsibility, Dick doesn't hesitate to care about Damian's future. "Who's going to save him if we don't?" At the start of the DickBats era, Dick isn't looking at Damian as a family member, really. He's looking at Damian as a victim, abet a very involved, very dangerous one. It's how Bruce looked at Dick too, before he had any reason to know that this kid would become something more to him. But, like Bruce, what Dick does to save Damian is bring him into the thing that is most precious to him; Batman. The mission. Saving people. A way to live in the world.

I know saying someone is the Batman to their Robin is like, a joke at this point. Something unbelievably cheesy. But you google "iconic duos" and Batman and Robin are one of the first responses. There's a reason for the joke. So imagine you are Robin, and your Batman is dead. And you have to go and find a new partner. Dick making Damian his Robin is heavy, just as heavy to me as adoption papers. Bruce made Dick his partner without any idea of what that meant. Dick, and the audience, had 70 years of expectation on what Dick and Damian could be. Dick making Damian Robin was a very specific claim, far stronger imo than just claiming him as a son would have been.

Because, to be honest (and speak to your other question), I don't think Dick thinks a lot about being a parent. I don't really think it's that important to him. Dick is a leader, a mentor, he deals with a ton of teenagers and kids through his vigilante work, he goes to Tim's sidekick parent's meetings and takes Jason skiing and more than that, he's also young. He's in his 20s. He should be at the club. I think he probably thinks he'll have kids in an abstract way, but it's not something he's looking for, consciously or unconsciously. He's not searching for connection, or to fix his mistakes or his past, the things that lead Bruce to adopting sidekicks. He'd be a great dad, and I think we see him being pretty good with his Elseworlds kids, but Dick is a very practical person, and him taking a kid in (vs finding somewhere else they can go) is not really the practical choice.

Except for one kid. There's just been one kid with legitimately no where else to go, where Dick is truly the only option, because going home meant only bad things for him. Dick made Damian part of his family in the ways that mattered to them both in that moment. With their lives, adoption doesn't really make a huge material difference on custody (if Damian wanted to leave, Dick couldn't have stopped him; Damian has access to basically unlimited money and can feed and clothe and wash himself. and possibly already has a phd.), and Dick wanted Damian to choose, anyway. If I recall correctly, Dick says he didn't think about taking Damian with him until Bruce comes back. He thought about taking Damian with him, thought that Damian might be better with Dick (his partner!!!!) than even with Bruce, his dad, the person Dick loves so much, only in the face of them being separated.

Meanwhile Damian, for all his blustering about how Dick needs to "earn" his respect, warms up to Dick startlingly quickly. For Damian, who had never known a father, who in his initial run hadn't even known his mother for more than two years, whose other male family is Ra’s al Ghul, his father is Batman. Even in Tomasi's kinder depiction of Damian's childhood, Damian only knows the Bat. And when he meets Bruce, the first thing he expresses is disappointment. Bruce the man is underwhelming and then goes and dies. So much for the mythic hero!

And then he meets Dick. Who manages to teach Damian something, who doesn't discount his skills even when he's wrong. Who proves that he is better at being Batman than Damian, and shows that he wants Damian around. And, even more importantly, who doesn't die. Dick is stable in a world constantly in flux. Damian screws up a lot in that run, and he leaves for long stretches of it, but Dick is always there when he gets back. There's no blame here, but the truth is that Dick is the one who stays.

Bruce was Damian's father, but what does that mean to someone whose never met a father at all? Bruce might have tried to connect with Damian before he died, but he doesn’t do it in a way that works. He doesn’t give Damian trust, he doesn’t encourage him in the ways Damian finds important…the first person to do that is Dick. Dick gives Damian responsibility, makes him part of the team. It could be argued that Damian didn’t deserve it, but we’re not talking about deserving. We’re talking about what worked. It sounds like as good an idea as making a tiny 8 year old acrobat a sidekick, but it undeniably worked for both Damian and Dick. Does that mean that either of these relationships were parental in the way that we think of it in the real world, in the way that a child psychologist would say is good and healthy? I have no idea. But they are the most parental in the absence of any other parents, and I think that means a lot.

Unfortunately, we don't get to actually see the dissolution of Dick and Damian's partnership. DC conveniently skips over showing us Bruce coming back and Dick becoming Nightwing again; preNew 52, Dick is still Batman with Damian even when Bruce returns, and in the New 52, he's been Batman "Before" and we don't really see the end, just a vague aftermath. But if it did take that kind of change to make them realize their relationship had a flavor of "parent and child", had the makings of something like a father and son, well, they'd just be following in the original Batman's footprints.

How well does moira get along with the rest of talon?

Her relationships within Talon are pretty dubious.

To start, she does not get along with Doomfist. I don't think he really cares much for her, and deems her a replaceable asset. He just uses her to have more power over Oasis, and realistically he could have just about anybody in a minister position and he'd be happy. He doesn't care for her work, and actively gives her tasks that pushes her away from doing her own work, like forcing her to work on Widowmaker, Sigma, ect. She knows how little she means to his overall operation and holds a lot of animosity towards him. However, without Talon, she has nothing. Talon is basically her last shot of leaving a mark on the world and she can't throw that away, so she pretends to play nice.

Reaper is an interesting story because they have so much history together. He got her a job at Overwatch, Blackwatch, and Talon, but they were definitely closest in Blackwatch. I kind of imagine during that time Gabe saw her as an annoying older sister, who acted like she knew more than him and bickered with him on everything, but was still his older sister, yknow? He loved her, she loved him. He's one of the only people who saw her walls come down, saw the real Moira. Lots of nights spent at her lab, drinking and talking about nothing and everything. They've grown apart of lot since then. Not because of anything Moira did to him, but more so just because Gabe has changed a lot. He's too angry, in too much pain. Moira has changed too. I think she was actually kinda happy in Blackwatch, even if she didn't outwardly show it, or even knew it herself, but know she's just sad? Accepted her fate as one of talons pawns. Neither of them can go back to drinking in her lab. They have moments together, little blips of what it used to be, but they both know it'll never be the same, that it can't be.

Sombra kinda forces herself into Moira's business. I like their chemistry a lot. Sombra has dirt on Moira but Moira has lost all sense of shame, lost to her own arrogance of self image, so Sombra holds no power over her. They have an inkling of what Gabe used to have with Moira, a funny little friendship. Moira never tells Sombra anything personal, she doesn't let her walls come down anymore, but she'll genuinely smile and crack jokes and laugh with her, because she's practically the only beacon of positively within Talon. Also, Moira's high and mighty persona doesn't work on Sombra, and Moira likes women who challenge her like that. They have a kind of will they wont they energy to them. I think Moira is sexually interested in Sombra for sure, and I think that feeling is palpable, and I think Sombra likes to play with that feeling quite a bit.

Honestly? I don't think she has much of a relationship with Sigma at all. Probably hardly sees him as a person, more so a nuisance she has to baby sit. Which is sad, because I think Sigma likes her company a lot. She is stern with him but she doesn't ever yell at him or anything, and he can't really tell that she is mad at him, so he thinks him and Moira are friends, someone of similar intellect to him that he can have scientific conversations with, and is also someone who helps him manage his hallucinations and memory loss.

I've spoken about her relationship with Widow before so I won't get into it again.

For fairness I'll add Ramattra too, but I'm only doing it because I think they could potentially have a funny relationship because I genuinely think they would be so fucking awkward. They are both intellectuals with a strong sense of their morals and they could have some great conversations but they just have no idea how to talk to each other. They do small talk and then it withers away into nothing. It would mostly be Ramattra wishing to speak with Moira but he has no idea how to engage in a conversation with her, and because of it they never form a relationship.

And then for my final act. Maximillian has a crush on her but is also horrified of her. He has no idea how to talk to her and she does this funny thing that she does to omnics where she just kind of stares at them (not in any sort of hateful way, mind you) and it freaks him out but also kind of turns him on. He resorts to very awkward stilted talks with her, which he hopes to end within a sentence or two so he can promptly walk away from the situation.

I remember reading older fanfictions about Helia/Trix friendships and I found their dynamic really interesting! I can’t find it anymore but there was a post about Helia befriending them in his first year (and most likely the Trix’s first year as well if I remember correctly they were seniors in season 1) as a little act of rebellion from Red Fountain.

I had this hc of Helia being friends with them and particularly close to Icy then having a fallout once he realises what they are up to. Maybe he found out or unknowingly helped them discover they were descendants of the Ancestral Witches, or alerted them about Stella’s scepter and out of guilt he quit rf and disappeared! Then he came back because he knew but he never said anything and it ended up almost causing the destruction of Magix.

I like the idea of Helia not telling anyone he knew the Trix personally then them finding out later on! The angst potentiall!! But then again I don’t think the Trix would keep quiet about it either!

AAGGHHH i've read fics like that too!! there was one a while back about like 14 year old helia meeting the trix and becoming friends with icy specifically! and then when he came back from art school, he couldn't believe they were the witches who destroyed everything. there may have been a scene with him going through the tunnels to cloud tower to confront them but i might be thinking about something else?

anyway! i love those fics :') icy/helia is such a guilty pleasure pairing of mine. he's such her type! just without the crazy murderous personality. plus i love the darcy/helia friendship dynamic as well (besties who judge together!!) and stormy/helia dynamics would be SO chaotic like she would stress him out so much. but i can also see stormy letting out her cute side around him more since he wouldn't judge her for that

You can hear scurrying beyond the door, a familiar click of his computer turning on. He opens the door with a wide smile, "I was just about to go on stream."

"We need to talk."

He kind of shakes his head yet pretends he doesn't hear you all together. "C'mon, please? You should join me. The Kurties would love to have you back."

"Kurt. . ."

"Please?"

You let out a frustrated sigh. "Fine, but we're talking after."

He smiles and nods. He drags you into his room, where he has his entire streaming set up, by your hand. You close the door behind the two of you. He settles into his gaming chair, and tugs at your hand, motioning for you to come sit with him.

"I can just get a chair from the garage, hun."

"No, please, it's okay."

You recognize his behavior as clingy. The whole reason you had been worried today is that he hadn't been clingy. He had not kept you company in your office while you worked, did not hang out in the kitchen as you made late breakfast for yourself (usually you would make extra, and give it to him, so you could eat at the table together). He did not once try to chat your ear off.

You should be happy that he seems to find his place back in his skin, but something's still off.

What happened to your baby, to make him think he shouldn't do that? That he shouldn't be close, and loving, and with you.

"Okay." You agree and slip yourself onto his lap. He fiddles a bit more with his software and the camera angle, before hitting start on the stream.

"Hey, what's up, everybody? Welcome back to Kurtzworld! I'm joined by my wonderful partner today."

He waves, greeting everyone that joins, he slowly moves so that his arms connect around you and he's leaning his chin- comfortably and soft- in the crook of your shoulder.

You wave to his audience, as well. You'd done this a hundred times- and you'd do it forever, if that's what Kurt wanted.

"What do you have planned today?" You smile towards him and gives a ridiculous look back.

"Not much, thinking we could answer some questions. How's the sound, Kurties?" He looks towards the chat for approval. It's resounding with praise.

His eyes glance towards yours, begging if it's okay.

You give him a genuine look, it's serious- and he knows he can't ignore his feelings forever, that as soon as the camera's off, that you will be forcing him to have an honest conversation on why he's been so off lately. But he can also tell you're proud of him- which you are, you always- that he found a way to reach out to you and get what he wanted.

You drop the seriousness, the direct request for a conversation- for now. You kiss his cheek. You're happy to play along.

"Of course, honey, I love you."

You laugh as Kurt grows red in the face, acting all cute and embarrassed.

Okay so I wanna go deeper into the one where Y/N dies and Craig + Kenny r the ones who pulled the Basil and Sunny, so i'll divide it in four parts

The incident - Alright, sohonestly i have NO idea who would be sunny or basil in this case, both of them fit the idea, but for now I'll go with craig just based on how many tiktok omori au creek videos ive seen where craig takes sunny's role. I'd say the argument could be about Y/N's safety, maybe it could be that she decided to hangout with team stan and they got into like a really dangerous situiation, nobody was hurt but craig is freaking out, so he starts arguing about Y/N's safety and stuff

Eventually, push comes to a shove (heh) and awh shit Y/N gets pushed down the stairs, boom rip. ao ofcourse now xraig is probably like having a mental breakdown because HE JUST PUSHED HER DOWN THE FUCKING STARIS and he keepts panicking. around that time Kenny would come inside whoever's house they were in, because if he was at the scene while they were arguing he wouldve definetly steped in

In all honesty, no idea how they came up with the staged suicide, it probably involved a lot of arguing, screaming and crying, but eventually they agree to do so

Dreamworld - So as I stated before, they would both have their own respective headspace

I feel like in both headspaces, basil would be the other, idk how to phrase it honestly. as in, in kenny's headspace, craig would be basil, and in craigs headspace, kenny would be basil yknow??

Kenny's headspace would be pretty much identical to the one ingame, maybe it'd be a bit more similar to a ghetto? idk just a thouht. while craigs nothing would really happen, id think most of the headspace would be in someone's house or at tweek bros (of course in both of them Y/N would take mari's role)

I don't have a lot to say about headspace honestly

Realworld - After the incident, everybody just shut themselves in someway or another. Obviously, Stan would be the most devastated, going into a deep depression that lasts a while like Hero's. I feel as the group just sort of slip apart after that. As in, they went to their respective teams and just didn't talk as much

After the incident, craig and kenny wouldn't even speak to eachother anymore, they can't even bring to do so knowing what they did. Kenny especially, he feels as if its craig's fault Y/N died since he was the one that pushed her.

Headcanons I have -

Craig would be the most likely to have the hikikomori route

Stan wouldn't dye hia hair anymore nor paint his nails anymore, because of both reminding him of Y/N and not taking as much care for himself

Kenny wouldn't spend as much time in headspace, since he still takes care of Karen

Stan,Kyle,Clyde and Tweek would be the ones that visit Y/N's room most

Shelley came to visit to attend the funeral

Butters shared an animal crossing island with Y/N, but now he can't even think about it without crying

i love how you talk about how the argument is about craig & reader fighting about her safety + well being because that is seriously spot on—despite having a gives-no-fucks attitude i can definitely see craig constantly worried + checking his phone whenever reader is out with her brother & his group of friends because of all the crazy shit that they get up to ((bad things always seem to follow them around & who can blame him? they stole his fucking birthday money + got him stranded in peru haha))

reader eventually has had enough because while craig has his reasons, that’s still her older brother that he’s talking shit about & while they always bicker + fight like no tomorrow, his baby sister’s safety is always stan’s top priority ((has been since they came out of the womb)). so of course, after some time & heated words getting thrown around, she get’s fed up with the conversation & tries to walk away

he quickly grabs onto her wrist because no, you’re not listening Y/N!! we always get into shit about this and i’m so fucking tired of having to worry my ass off whenever you’re with them which leads to them tugging & pulling because she doesn’t want to deal with this right now but craig thinks that they don’t deal with it enough. obviously, he doesn’t want to hurt his baby while he’s blinded by frustration so he loosens his grip. but this unluckily occurs at the same time she does one harsh yank, causing her body to wobble from the force until she loses her footing & suddenly all she can see is craig’s frantic expression + his outstretched arm as she’s falling down the stairs

i love how you added that kenny’s presence would’ve majorly played a role in everything because yes, the overprotective blonde would have definitely stepped in to help mediate the fight if he was at the scene & things would have definitely ended up differently!! you’re absolutely right in the fact that there will be a lot of frantic screaming, disbelieving crying, and frustrated arguing as they try to take in the image of their once lively shared significant lover—her skin ashen + her once expressive eyes looking eerily hollow & empty

i honestly think it would have to be kenny to be the one to come up with the staged suicide because while craig & him aren’t romantically involved, he’s grown to care for the male ravenette during his time with reader and wouldn’t want him to end up in shit with the police. even now, he can’t bring himself to hate the taller teen because while he did ultimately play a hand at accelerating reader’s demise, he’s constantly shown how much he loves & cherishes her in his own way. craig can’t gather his thoughts as he stares at his violently trembling hands because he did this to her while kenny internally panics & curses because someone will come home soon to see what happened

obviously, craig will be violently overcome with guilt that he killed reader whereas kenny’s will be due to the fact that he can’t believe he let everyone believe his wonderful ray of sunshine killed herself. he feels fucking terrible that he disrespected her body by hanging it by the neck at the tree outside of the Marsh’s backyard. the same body he’s gently held in his warm embrace countless of times, the one that has always given him the softest & warmest of affectionate and reassuring kisses

he never gave her a proper closure with her loved ones ((the casket had to be closed due to the hanging)) and in turn, fucked up everyone’s last living image & memory of her

… and he disrespected her like that with a staged suicide in the afterlife, the one he claims to love so much & holds closest to his heart

i love the idea of the other being basil in each of their own headspaces!! the two can’t help but to be scornful towards the other because of obvious reasons which leads to them not talking anymore. and yes, i adore the notion that kenny’s headspace would be like omori’s colorful dreamworld with stan’s group except the surroundings would be more ghetto to reflect his poor upbringing. i firmly stand by the idea that craig’s dreamworld would be similar to omori’s whitespace when he’s just sitting but omori’s blackspace when he’s aimlessly wandering around ((in contrast to kenny getting into all sorts of crazy adventures with the guys)) and he’d drive the knife into his body when he wants to return to whitespace

while reader was the glue that brought craig + kenny together from their nonconventional relationship, she was also the glue holding all of stan’s group & craig’s group together

hello and excuse me if this was asked before, but do you think Burakh would still adopt Murky and Sticky in your modern AU, and if he would — how? because with the sort of circumstances he has in the original setting he sort of. had to. take them in. but in a modern setting i doubt a 26 year old would willingly adopt two kids who better serve as his younger sibling in terms of their age (because he should've been at the club. etc). so i suppose he would do it later but then again the question is where would he even found them. also a somewhat related question, do you have any headcanons for what their real, parent-given names would be? as i understand they most likely wouldn't be want to called them (due to trauma), but my friend personally came up with Maksim and Tanya (Tatyana) for them, and i'd like to know your thoughts on that matter.

hiii bestie no one's asked this before and i very much agree He Should Be At The Club. i think even in the canonverse he really struggles with adopting + raising the kids. i know many people love to indulge in #famly and him being a loving father and i don't disagree at all but i also thinks he Many, Many times feels like he cannot cope with that + his grief anymore etc. he loves them very much. but also he's not even 30, lost his parents, has no one to ask for help in raising kids because none of his friends are doing it, etc. Anyways this is canonverse we modern AUing in here.

first of while i think both kids would still be orphan i don't know how much of the canon circumstances i'm keeping. canonically murky's parents fell from the Sand Pest, and Sticky's iirc we just don't know, we just know he's been alone for a while. considering the Mother Dying In Childbirth thing is recurrent in orphans of the town (including like. Burakh himself. also notkin) that might be his thing. and this, for example, i'm not sure how much would be present in a modern AU. maternal mortality is still a problem, but one of the main reasons for lethal pregnancy outcomes is like. not..... pregnancy-itself-related. and as for the sand pest, while i think it still Would Be a thing in modern AU, idk how it'd pan out with modern medicine, vaccination schemes, etc, so 1) i have no idea how the two would be orphaned in a modern au 2) i don't know how it would interact with/inform their behavior towards burakh and burakh's behavior towards them. being honest i don't think about the orphans too much in the modern au. as you might have noticed. being an orphan (especially this young) in nebulous 1910s-1940s (pre-war) and being an orphan in 2020s is a Vastly different experience. even in bumfuck nowhere eurasian steppe. methinks if burakh was to take on a guardian role over the two, it would be a guardian role, closer indeed to a sibling, rather than a father. & i think more collective work would be here to help the kids navigate being orphaned. like ToG is in some ways the wild, wild west east, but in the 2020s they..... would probably have more structures and regulations for like. orphaned minors. yknow. but also. burakh should be at the club. and in modern AU, he is. he's keeping an eye on dankovsky who agreed to come with the twins and has been sulking in his corner with a migraine for 15 minutes.

also i'm so fond of real names and nicknames having auditive similarities (typically the first letter/syllable) because that's how many of them work in most languages i'm familiar with so i'm seeing Mishka have a name in M and Spichka one in S or Sh... perhaps Masha (as derivated from Maria, but no one calls her Maria, not even her own parents, because well. got one already) and Sasha or Stepan... but mostly in the Orphaning, their legal names didn't really get to stick.

well ofc it's heavily implied at the end that Danger Force continue crime fighting, taking over as the primary heroes of Swellview.

and they should still have at least another year of high school left! i'm not sure if they were finishing middle school when DF started or starting high school when DF started... but either way they should have at least a year left. if they were in their last year of middle school, they'd still have two years of high school. if they were starting high school, they'd have one year left.

it's kinda hard for me to think about what their lives might look like now though. i mean, they no longer have Ray or Schwoz. there's a new level of responsibility on them.

honestly i feel like Chapa probably struggles handling it all, prioritizes Danger Force, and ends up not doing well in school. i don't think it's a Henry situation or anything though. she'll graduate, Mika will make sure of that.

you mentioned Bose, so thinking about her friendship with Bose... hm. in season 3, Bose starts talking about his birth dad a lot more. he also seems a less like the cheery boy we met in season 5 of Henry Danger, yknow? he seems a bit more down. i feel like those two correlate: the uptick in his mentions of his birth dad and his less cheery demeanor. it seems like he started thinking about his family life a lot more than he used to and that's affecting him. i could definitely see Chapa being someone he talks to about all of that. i feel like she would listen to him well and be able make sense of things he says. she's kind of a shoulder to lean on, someone who helps him to not bottle it up in his own mind. gotta love their friendship. (he does what she does lol)

post danger force retirement:

we saw what happened when she wasn't being pushed to the good side. she went to the bad side. between seasons 2 and 3, she became a criminal.

that honestly surprises me. bc idk how some of the other DF kids let that slide. i know everyone is scared of her, but when it comes to something serious, they will confront her and stand their ground. and i feel like Chapa turning to a life of crime is something they'd be trying to keep her from??

so i think that's where she naturally goes to after DF calls it quits, but i don't think her friends would just sit by and let it happen this time. they would at least try to keep her from it. try to keep her occupied, try full-on confrontation, whatever method.

she definitely kept any gum balls she had left in her container lol. she even tried to keep them when Ray made them all turn in their gum in Power Problems, so no doubt in my mind that she brought home all the red gum she had this time. she probably tries to save it, but she might pop a bubble every once in a while. for the memories, yknow?

i can't think of much Bose-centric to add, really. they're still friends. they're still Chapa and Bose. they miss seeing each other as often as they used to. but of course that applies to Mika and Miles with Chapa and Bose just as much and vice versa. at this point, they're all out of school and not meeting up at the Man's Nest every day anymore. life takes over and they just can't see each other as often. i definitely think there would be some planned DF meetup days where they all plan a time to hang out for a while, but i could also see Chapa and Bose spending time together on their own. it's great to be with all your friends, but sometimes there's one friend you end up spending a little extra time with cause you just have that extra-time kind of connection, and i think they definitely have that kind of friendship.

also, i feel like DF had some almost-breakup moments before they actually ended it. times when tension got too high and people said things they shouldn't have and conflict got too much and whatever evil they were battling was too much stress on them and suddenly they're on the verge of ending DF. it never actually happened though. not entirely, at least. maybe they got really close and maybe even they all separated for a day, but it never lasted.

That was from my queue but making me think abt s2 my biggest fear is s2 is simon being like out of the main story like as a character that just sometimes comes up not just because I like him like yeah but way more importantly I really liked how the dynamic and friendship between him and fionna and cake developed because it was like so extremely important for the entire world building and I get sorta miffed when people are like, uhhh it's fionna and cake not fionna cake and simon get over it 🙄 let other characters (finn gets brought up a lot here) take the spotlight, like firstly you're contradicting yourself because I don't see Finn in the title either, and not to say I don't want to see more of him (I do! And I anticipate more of him!) But he was NOT actually a major part of the story! And isn't actually all the relevant to fionna he NEVER was in the og series, ice king was, but lemme back up. . .

From the beginning, fionnaworld existing in Simon's mind, was entirely impacted by his feelings, which wasn't just the lack of magic it was the fact he was depressed and getting to his wits end, feeling out of place, that's why fionna was so sad in her world, "I'm not feeling like myself today" etc, it wasn't like in a vacuum she was 100% intertwined with him (always was! Ice king wrote her stories!) And the beginning of their relationship was this sort of hostility like simon being angry to know she even existed and wasn't just a foolish machination of the insane ice king, and his peers are like ohhhh we loved those comics ice king wrote, and meanwhile simon is like repeatedly attempting suicide (which would have killed fionnas entire world. Btw.) Fionna is a little more open to him, but leaning towards her self interest of the fact that if he dies her world does, cake meanwhile is like damn this guy sucks.

By the end of the journey though, fionna genuinely cares about him so much she'd rather risk losing the battle to save her and her world than for simon to destroy himself for her (and she does this twice actually! The first time when they were with the lich and fionna had secretly picked up the crown and tried to hide it so simon wouldn't put it on, she even fights with cake over it, her bestie cake), simon cares so much he (ALSO TWICE) tries to go against Betty's wishes to save fionnas world with the crown, and at FIRST it was like a convenient excuse to psychologically off himself like welp I don't care if I live or die, if I throw my brain awake this person lives, then it's settled. Later its like, he so genuinely wants to make the sacrifice he tries doing it in front of his chaos God wife (when originally.. the plan was to see her, apologize, and die with her)

After fionnas world became it's own thing separate from simon.. like, the parallel cannot be missed here, the fact that her world was represented by a dandelion she wished on to save, the fact that Betty blew simon away like blowing like a dandelion wishing for him to go back home and live, he and fionna stay in contact across the multiverse to be friends. And their friendship and love for one another peaked at this point, when they are no longer like involuntarily bound together, they both chose to make the best of the lives they have (fionnas being letting go of the magic she wanted to have, and learning to appreciate her world as it is .. which is better because the way it is, simon is not suffering (as ice king ) for it to exist. That's what her nightmare about the freezer was about.)

Like all the themes and parallels between fionna and simon are so fucking intertwined I cannot even understand why you'd want to see less of that :[ even if it's not the main focus of like, whatever stakes will be introduced in s2, their bond should still be like.. very prominent I feel?? To be like "well we don't need simon anymore since fionnas on her own" kinda like dumps out all of the stuff I was just talking abt yknow?? And idk like rip to you but I'm different ig but was it not super sweet and cute for a peppy 30 year old failwoman, her sassy talking cat, and a 59 year dorky widower with a heart of gold to be adventure buddies like..? :[

"Well Simon's story with betty concluded" I hear a lot well, okay! First of all the conclusion sucked but w/e that's a hot topic of debate, but more importantly, that's fine, that part can be concluded and. The conclusion was (the better part of it) that simon should stop letting his grief about betty kill him from the inside out and instead live the life she sacrificed herself for him to have. So... that.. lines up? Perfectly in fact?? that sets him up for s2 to have more than not a clean slate on one of the most major parts of his character since forever (betty) like if his journey is no longer about her then. He's like pretty fresh to do whatever. And what was ADDED to him was his relationship with fionna and cake. And as much as I WISH he got a happier end with betty, it is what it is, I'm very much ready for simon new game+ where he's happier and (especially since s1 set him up as like being pretty alone and isolated even from the people who love him b/c they're living their own fulfilling lives) gets a reprise with fionna and cake and they're like, his next closest people, and she like, gets another adventure with the person connected to the world of magic she wanted (who himself isn't even magic he's a human like her)

I don't wanna see that shoved to the side it would be heartbreaking!! They're friends! They care so fucking much about eachother! 😭 it's not just me right?? I can't be the only one who doesn't feel like their friendship is integral to the story 😭😭

hi! im back for a bit, was feeling super nostalgic about the blog again. the odds of you seeing this are slim but i hope that you may, because ngl im overjoyed that there is anybody out there who would still care even just a tiny tiny bit about this thing that i cared about so overwhelmingly much as a child, so thank you lots and lots for sending something like this into this old inbox. it means more to me than you will probably ever know my original narrative that i wrote with all my fandomstuck friends at the time, and that was hinted at during the beginning of the blog, was that butler was half human and half demon, and his "demon side" has a cruel personality that he struggles to keep under control. you know, that sorta cliché narrative that kids like me couldn't get enough of /lighthearted, cringe is dead n all that, but yknow i don't remember if it was just me feeling overwhelmed by the thought of running a one-man-show with few side characters for butler to interact with, or if i just got really excited at the thought of giving him a brother, or some sort of mixture of both, but either way i decided to split up butlers human and demon side into two separate characters for the sake of the blog. i think at the time i had convinced myself it made the abstract ideas i had planned a bit more literal and easy to understand. like, ultimately i wanted to genuinely tell a story about self love, self hatred, and just generally the relationship you can have and foster for just your own self, but i guess i got cold feet and decided itd just be more simple if his two halves were two people as opposed to all internal. if i were to have a do-over, id stick to my original narrative and keep it all contained in one character. the thing is though, about the source material, is pretty much all of the characters who arent human have a really similar personality, which is great for something like fandomstuck. theyre all some variant of suave, skilled, a hint of unnerving, and maybe a sprinkle of flirtatious. and i feel that personality and tone really embodies the series as a whole. but, it leaves me struggling with what id do for butler's human side and what that personality would be like, if his demon side were to cover that suaveness and such. i wouldn't want it to just be a carbon copy of ciel, but pulling in influence from the other human characters is just a bit difficult to pull off in a way that feels good. and my solution at the time, to make him a super cutesy shy "kawaii boy", was just totally not it lol. that had purely bc of my bias for characters like that as well as my own personality leeching in. and frankly if im being honest, i struggle with being very nostalgic for this portrayal of butler, and the thought of changing it up makes me a little sad, because in my head and my heart he just totally captured a particular fragment of my life, and the thought of messing with that at all makes me... upset, tbh, but its something i would be willing to do if i ever did want to bring him back, which i do lightheartedly consider from time to time. still leaves me not totally sure what i WOULD want his personality to be like, but eh, at least i gave it more thought this time if anything no one cares abt this as much as i do but thats ok, but anybody who did read this whole thing i owe you my life thank you

well when it comes to Airell, I've been thinking a lot about them lately. Think 24/7 kind of a lot. Over the years, Airell has changed a lot. The initial idea for them was a fuckboy and comedic relief. Think in the lines of "i like your pants" "thanks they were 50% off" "i'd prefer them 100% off" "that's a horrible way to run business" (i saw this on tumblr ages ago and it still lives in my head somehow). But then I gave them feelings. Backstory. I slowly made them into what they are today. But! Some parts of first draft-Airell remain in my head, like him being flirty and hooking up often. also i am really !!!!! about AUs I have with Airell! I have a dragon AU, a witch and familiar AU, werewolves, vampires, sirens, SO MANY AUs, I don't remember them all anymore! But they are all so fun and I wish I was more of a writer so I could just...write it all without being horribly cringe. considering how much cringe content I come up with, I am genuinely surprised my friends don't call me cringe queen yet.

there was also an idea of a name change, because i got kinda bored with it but i cant think of anything cool + if i changed their name i'd have to say no to the ship name "ai<3hearne" which is just... yknow... 👉👈

now, Risha... Risha Sero is my OC from an interactive fiction called Wayfarer. It's really fun and I love it and I advise everyone to sit down and read it.

Risha is an asshole. But you love him anyway. He is not really strong, but he is smart. He will use your strength against you and he will talk his way out of majority of problems. He has a silver tongue. He also has daddy and mommy issues, both for different reason. His father was absent for majority of his life, despising the child that had no magic abilities. His mother was a loving woman, a literal angel!!!! but one day she sent Risha away without much explanation and he lost touch with her. He doesn't resent her, but he wonders...why? He was deeply hurt by it, as an adult he laughs it off very often but deep down he knows he is afraid of finding out the truth - so he doesn't look for it.

Risha is a member of the Wayfarer order. the order has become his family and he would do anything for them. He is especially fond of his childhood friend, Aeran (NPC) and for majority of his life he lives in denial of his feelings until it's impossible to push them down anymore. Another bestie he has is Rienna Cenric, whom he also got to know in the Order. Risha and Rienna have a sibling-like relationship.

Risha really likes horses. Think GW2 Gorrik but instead of bug it's horses. He once gambled in an inn and won a few horses. Sadly, he couldn't keep them all. He always gets some horse keychain or something of that sort from Rienna - she always thinks of her little brother when she sees those and if she has a few crowns laying around, she sure will buy him something.

Augustine and Cynthia's dynamic tho. Cause like, prior to his death, these two were really close, and yknow she probs knows about all the other failed grimwalkers before this current Augustine they have, the Golden Guard. And like,, he's so different from her friend.

The Golden Guard was arrogant and critical and is honestly such a suck up. A prodigy and one of the faces of the Empress' Coven, he makes sure everyone knows that, that he will always be above them, that the empress will always favour him at the end of the day, not them. And that time when Cynthia and Geeta came back from that mission, Augustine already told Diantha of what happened.

After that confrontation w Diantha, Cyn immediately went to her chambers, only for Augustine to be waiting for her outside the throne room. His mask was off, he was smirking at her, his eyes almost glowing like Diantha's. At first, looking at the Golden Guard somewhat gave Cynthia some sort of closure, but as the years passed, she grew to hate him. He wasn't Augustine. He looked a decade younger than her, in his 20s, the age when he died, the age he forever will be; his eyes are now a shade of red, shining like gemstones, she always loved his sky blue eyes back then; he became obsessed with power, the Augustine she knows was the most humble witch in the Isles. Cynthia wanted nothing more than to get rid of the Golden Guard.

"greetings, Cynthia." He smiled, hands behind his back as he started walking around her, "I see you've made my dearest sister mad again."

"what do you want?"

"oh, nothing, really," he chuckled, "just that... I wonder how many more failed missions before you get petrified too." He was swaying around now too, almost taunting her, a toothy grin on his face, "Dia could only take so much, of course. And in the Empress' Coven, there's no room for failures."

"we got the key, didn't we? That mission wasn't a failure."

"no, it was Geeta who got the key, while you were busy being pathetic, crying after the human left."

And that caught her off guard. How did he know?

He laughed again, "oh, Cynthia, you're so funny," he then took his mask from his belt, "but did you really think I'd let you and the others ruin more of our plans? Granted, they're doing a better job than you." He scoffed, rolling his eyes, "I don't know why Dia still keeps you around, but maybe that's something I won't ever know." He shrugged, finally he placed his mask over his face, within the dark abyss of mask, she could see his bright red eyes. She could just feel his grin from beneath the mask, "well, I'll be off now. Au revoir, Cynthia!" And so he left in a blur of blue, his laugh echoing within the hall.

Cynthia could only fear for her own life now, as what the Golden Guard said was true, there is no room for failure in the Empress' Coven, and she'd rather not disappoint Diantha. Ofc she won't, she promised herself she'll be better, and the next time she comes across that human again, she won't fall for those lies anymore. After all, Diantha said those humans will only try to make them feel bad and to lower their guards to get the upper hand, and Titan she was right, that human got to her, but not anymore. Ofc, she'll be better, next time she'll win their battle, she'll make sure of it.

april tc challenge 10 - 17

what is the longest time you have gone without seeing them?

during winter break, i didn't see him in person for 7 weeks. but completely not seeing him was probably the first two weeks of winter break.

what do other people think of them?

he's super popular but also controversial, although i think the general consensus is that hes the best teacher our school has. most people like to use him in jokes and like him.

do you often make up excuses to talk to them?

yeah i try but i'm so socially awkward it comes off as being weird and creepy. but whenever my friend has a question she doesn't i offer to ask him the question just so i can talk to him. i don't really do that anymore though because i think i sensed he found that annoying.

what else are they passionate about? (apart from their subject)

ok i will now expose myself as a fraud because i know NOTHING about what this man is passionate about apart from math and like mahjong. hes leading an engineering club so i guess hes interested in that? but honestly idk we're not that close :(

what is a skill you wish your tc had?

i wish he had the ability to hold a legit conversion because that man is the most hermit and socially awkward person i've ever met. it's impossible to talk to him or try to talk to him because he always has his head in his phone, and never speaks more than 10 words together.

what hogwarts house would he be in?

ravenclaw bc he's so smart and hardworking and quiet yknow. but i could also see him in slytherin cuz he got that quiet cunning dangerous vibe on him. i need to ask him about it before the end of the year.

if you could go back in time and choose, would you choose to still develop feelings for your tc?

yes and no. i feel like i would not have found this community and i feel like i would have lacked the little moments of joy i feel when we have a valuable moment together. i think having a tc has allowed me to dependent on something other than my grades (which idk is healthy 😭 but whatever) but on the other hand i feel so much self disgust and self hatred towards having these feelings because this is a grown ass man with a wife and child, and he's just trying to do his job but he has this weird af student liking him. i also think saying goodbye to my school is going to be a lot harder.

if it was the last time you would ever be able to see your TC, what is one thing you would never leave without saying to them?

well this question is hitting too hard to home because the last time i'm ever going to see him is in less than a month so yay. i saw so many people saying that they're going to confess and i feel like a chicken because i will definitely NOT do that. i would probably just thank him, and ask him for his number/social media so that we can stay in contact.
