Have you ever felt like you have no idea what your teacher is talking about? Or has it been a while since you’ve been to class and you want a refresher? Maybe you’re just looking to strengthen your foundational knowledge! Whatever the reason, @barefootyogashala is hosting a six-week beginner’s series in the fall that will take you back to the basics and give you the tools you need to step into a class confidently. Through discussion-style classes that break down a different theme of poses each week, we’ll talk about alignment, pose names, and and answer any questions you have. . Hands-on assists will be provided to help you understand exactly what a pose should feel like. Modifications will be offered so you can take each pose to whatever level you feel most comfortable with. . Replacing the regular Tuesday beginner’s for the fall @ 7:30PM. $108 for all six weeks. My happy place, is any place, where the sky meets the ocean. But this place in particular, is very special. Nicoya, Costa Rica, is one of only a handful of blue zones in the world. People live longer due to less stress, they down shift by slowing down, moving more, working less, eat healthier diets, know their purpose & prioritize family. 💓Double Tap for Daily YOGA Follow Us || Share || Like Thank you🙏 || 🔔Turn on Post Notification .☑️Low Lunge: Step-by-Step Instructions ✨Step 1 From Downward-Facing Dog (Adho Mukha Svanasana), exhale and step your right foot forward between your hands, aligning the right knee over the heel. Then lower your left knee to the floor and, keeping the right knee fixed in place, slide the left back until you feel a comfortable stretch in the left front thigh and groin. Turn the top of your left foot to the floor. ✨Step 2 Inhale and lift your torso to upright. As you do, sweep your arms out to the sides and up, perpendicular to the floor. Draw the tailbone down toward the floor and lift your pubic bone toward your navel. Lift your chest from the firmness of your shoulder blades against the back torso. ✨Step 3 Take your head back and look up, being careful not to jam the back of your neck. Reach your pinkies toward the ceiling. Hold for a minute, exhale your torso back to the right thigh and your hands to the floor, and turn your back toes under. With another exhale, lift your left knee off the floor and step back to Adho Mukha Svanasana. Repeat with the left foot forward for the same length of time. ✔️Beginner's Tip🤵🤵 To improve balance practice this pose facing a wall. The key to backbend isn’t as you might think to be bendy but, to have an open pelvic floor, and flexible hips joints. And, the best way to work on those two characteristics is through lunges. They work wonderfully, believe me. . Exercise 1 repeat both sides . Low Lunge: Hips squared parallel to the floor, 90º angle of the foot with the lower leg, foot rooted into the floor, core engaged and sucked in, chest lifts toward the sky, shoulders down, relaxed and parallel to the hips, long spine, Hips sinking down,  big smile, look forward, and breathe 10 times. . Exercise 2 repeat both sides . Runners Low Lunge: Hips squared parallel to the floor, a 90º angle of the foot with the lower leg, foot rooted into the floor, take the foot behind and pull it toward your gluteus, take the opposite arm up toward the sky, and slightly lean backward. Core engaged and sucked in, chest lifts toward the sky, shoulders down, relaxed, long spine, Hips sinking down,  big smile, look upward, and breathe 10 times. . Exercise 3 repeat both sides . Low Lunge with backbend: Hips squared parallel to the floor, a 90º angle of the foot with the lower leg, foot rooted into the floor, core engaged and sucked in, chest lifts toward the sky, shoulders down, and relaxed, long spine, Hips sinking down.
