I realize it’s probably too late to be asking for this request, but I’ll give it a try anyway and at the very least I want to share this idea: may I request something with Kaeya and his S/O who caught a cold and thus was sick on valentines day? And they feel really guilty about having ‘ruined’ his plans for the day because they’re too dazed & feverish & drained to do anything but lay in bed & cough & drink hot water with lemon and honey? But Kaeya doesn’t care and just wants to make sure they’re getting rest and feeling okay and on the path to recovery?

This is totally not based on my own experience today of being sick since yesterday and wishing I had Kaeya to dote on me and love me, whatever would give you that impression?

Hello!! it's not exactly valentines day but at least we're still w/in feburary lolol hope you enjoy!!

When Kaeya came over to pick you up he wasn't expecting to almost have to break in, knocking hard on the door to get your attention. He was about to break it down when you finally appeared, looking a little worse for wear. It was clear to him what was happening and before you could even open your mouth he was ushering you back inside, closing the door behind him and leading you back to your room.

It looked like a mess - understandably so as you were rifling through to find things to make you comfy before collapsing back onto your bed. Your trashbin was overflowing with tissues and you had some medicine and thermoses on the bedside table to avoid leaving. Clearly, you were trying to overload the sickness in attempts to get better, unfortunately failing.

He immediately brings a cool hand to your forehead, laughing a little at the happy sigh you give him when he meets your heated face. Immediately, you grab his wrist and make him cup your cheek, leaning into his palm as you look up at him.

The look on your face is a little pitiful, he thinks to himself, knowing that you're absolutely adorable like this. He hasn't seen you this sick for a while, resisting the urge to give you a kiss.

"Kaeya," you whine, seeming near tears despite barely being able to breathe.

"I'm sorry."

"Sorry? For what?"

He can't resist himself, ignoring your running nose and pressing a kiss to your forehead.

"I ruined your plans. Whatever it is you wanted us to do today - I got myself sick and now we can't go. I should have listened to you and worn that extra coat. Then I would be fine, and there wouldn't be any reason for you to waste your time here and we could do whatever you wanted. But now I'm just stuck here and you're already trying to take care of me."

Your eyes are brimming with unshed tears, shiny in the light and he gently thumbs them away, shaking his head as he shushes you softly. Your sniffles are especially pronounced, wiping your tears away with him.

"I'm not mad at you," he says quietly, sitting on your bed and resting your head on his lap.

"Sure, we were going to spend today together, but you're not feeling well. You barely seemed coherent the other day when I came to visit you and it already seems like you're getting better. If we really focus on getting you better then we can do everything today another day, okay?"

"But I ruined your plans," you reiterate, only getting shushed by him as he lays you back down on your pillow.

"We'll just do Valentine's Day Abridged, alright? Stay there, and don't let me catch you out of bed or else I'll have to arrest you," he teases mischievously, humming to himself as he leaves the room.

You want to follow after him, moving around a little bit to get yourself ready to leave when you see his head poke back in, narrowing his eye at you.

"I heard that. Stay there, and do not try and follow me. I'm just making you something you can get to stay down. You won't be getting any better if you're not eating anything."

The thing about Kaeya is that he's great at cooking. Until it's meant to be more functional. There's something that puts him on autopilot and makes him create the most nutritious meal without necessarily caring about the taste. He thinks this is a side effect of having to mass cook for so many knights when out on patrols and making sure everyone stays alive and healthy.

He brings it to you, well, sorta. You're half asleep and still mildly delirious, barely lifting your head when he walks in. However, once you realise he's really there you try to sit up, moving so fast that it makes your head spin.

He tuts his tongue at you, looking more like a mother hen with the stern expression and hand on his hip at you trying to get out of bed again. Quickly, he's at your side to serve you, spooning soup into your mouth.

"This tastes like...nothing," you say after a few bites.

"Does it? I think it tastes fine," he shrugs, continuing to feed you.

"Is it supposed to taste like hot water?" you tease again, happily taking every spoonful he gives you.

"Maybe it is! Hot water is good for you!" he retorts, hugging you close to him.

It takes a while but the two of you slowly work through the bowl of soup together. You can't deny feeling better afterward, unsure if it's because of him or the soup. Most likely a mixture of both.

"Hey Kaeya," you say again, getting his attention as he cleans up your room a bit.

"You sure you aren't mad at me?" you ask.

"How could I be mad? I got to spend all day with the love of my life."

He sounds so sure that it finally settles your nerves, shyly smiling to yourself as you fiddle with your blanket. You can tell he really is happy too, watching him flutter about your room like he belongs there. And you know he does.

So I have pretty ugly top surgery scars bc they had to cut away more than they innitially planned and I also have some scars around my mouth bc I was beaten up at school as a kid buttttt idk it never bothered me bc I think my scars look pretty cool and epic and I like ugly scars a lot.

And when you described Stu's scars and how they changed his smile I was loooosing it bc my mum always said my smile changed afterwards and idk I just indentified with that moment so hard.

I was melting when Billy said "so fucked up, so pretty" and it was obv how much he liked the scars and anyway it just gave me hope that I'll find someone who likes me like that too, so thank you 🥰 I mean the rest of the chapter and the angst destroyed me ofc lolol but I liked that too 🤤

Yeah!! The scars I have don’t bother me, and neither do other peoples scars, and to be honest I don’t know why people act like they’re shameful or a tragedy or something. Like it’s totally fine if someone is just uncomfortable with their own scars, it just sucks that our culture also projects that on everyone.

I agree clearly, I think scars are beautiful. Wrinkles and stretch marks too, like that’s just the stuff that happens to a body when you live and with scars specifically it’s what happens when you heal and get tougher.

Billy definitely likes Stu’s changed face, and there will be more of that in chapter 2. Stu got those scars protecting him, I think that would mean something extra to him.

You were a simple sinner demon, trying to find their way through hell

When you heard of the happy hotel you decided to go check it out

And by check it out I mean get a free room and lots of therapy (bc we all need it lets be honest)

Now you joined before the whole news fiasco and Alastor

On the morning of the interview Charlie and Vaggie were rushing to make the hotel look good for any new potential sinners

And angle had left earlier for who knows what

You decided to stay at the hotel while Charlie and Vaggie left to 666 news

You watched the whole showdown on the tiny tv in the lobby

You felt kinda bad for Charlie, knowing that after that interview no sinner would want to be a part of the hotel

Suddenly your phone started ringing

You checked the caller ID to see it was charlie

So you answered

"Heya charlie...I saw the interview, how're you holding up?"

You heard her answer, voice wavery like she had been crying

"Oh pfft I'm totally fine, it's not like many demons watch the news anyways.."

You could tell by her tone that she was faking enthusiasm

"Listen...(Y/n) , the limo got a flat tire. We may take a bit longer to get to the hotel. Sorry"

Chainsaw Man

More than a week after exposure, I finally tested positive for COVID (still no symptoms though and feel fine - thank you new booster vaccines). 

Anyway since I’m stuck at home quarantining as per the school’s policy, I went and read Chainsaw Man so I could weigh in on The Makima Debates(TM) and once again.... people complaining about this character are lacking in genre awareness.   They haven’t read enough seinan horror manga! 

If you know anything about seinan manga, you’ll realize this comic is a sex and gorefest.   The worldbuilding, characterization, etc are set up for maximum fanservice and brutality.   Even the tender moments are tender in that "aw, the main character is totally desensitized to gore  but he still cares when the cat dies" kind of way.  Even the sympathetic moments are sympathetic in that “aw, all the main character wants to do is touch boobs but he won’t do it without permission” kind of way! 

As for Makima, yes she’s taking advantage of him the way she also took advantage of Aki... yes she is older and using her sexuality to manipulate everyone around her but particularly the younger characters.. and yes, there is so much kink stuff going on with her character.  Like c'mon in the anime opening animation she's walking Denji on a leash like a dog!!!  It ain’t subtle.   People who think this means the author has the same kink are being reductive, though - there's no way to know if that's the author's preference or if he just thought it'd be fun and sexy to write that dynamic into his story...

...and I mean really write that dynamic exactly into the story, including giving  Denji lines like "I just don't want to think anymore please tell me what to do" that get to the heart of the appeal of BDSM.  Also, writing an extreme traumatic backstory for Denji to explain why he's so into being treated like a dog and told what to do!!!  

Exploring the main character's trauma is not really like a main concern of the manga, though, it's just kind of there to explain why he's Like That.   People who see the trauma and want to project onto it... I mean you do you, but it’s like a cartoon version of trauma you know?   It’s not explored with any kind of subtlety and it’s unlikely it ever will be.  This is like my dad made me eat dogfood as a kid and wear a collar kind of stuff, but possibly even more cartoonish than that.   The main concern of the manga is like I said, maximizing the sex appeal and the violence.   

Anyway if this comic didn't run in Shounen Jump and ran in a Seinan magazine instead - where let’s be real it probably belongs - I doubt we'd see much discourse about it at all.   The main character's whole "cool powers but a loser" thing... his whole "cool because he doesn't give a fuck except he does give a fuck but he's just extremely fucked up" thing... isn't even weird for seinan manga, there's lots of seinan comics with main characters like this.

Anyway Chainsaw Man is cool, the pacing is good, the horror is done well, the ‘love triangle’ is interesting because the two ‘love interests’ have completely different and opposite kinds of appeal, the monsters are scary, the worldbuilding is just coherent enough to be interesting without getting in the way of the storytelling, and I really admire the mangaka’s willingness to (spoiler under readmore) ....

...kill off **every** popular character character LOLOL keeps you on your toes!!!

Duckvember Day 17: Jobless Duck

I really couldn’t come up with anything for jobless duck so instead here is a list of Mighty Ducks OCs that don’t play hockey. WHY.

Annabelle Knix - 

She was a friend of Duke’s in a smaller thief group he was in before he joined Brotherhood of the Blade. Sometime later she was thought to have died in a heist that went wrong. Turns out though she did live but was put in a government lab as an experiment with some badass cyborg technology. When Dragaunus attack she was released by the lab because they were like, “Heyyy so your a super soldier can you go fight what’s going on.” and she was like SURE and then once she was released she just cheesed it out of there because it was not cool being held in a lab and being experimented on by your own government. She did later join  the resistance at some point lolol. Once on Earth she can’t play hockey cuz kinda cheating to go up against someone with robotic limbs. 

Kirqut Freeduc - 

ALSO someone from the smaller thief group Duke was in when they were younger. He was actually Annabelle’s boyfriend.  When Annabelle was thought to be dead he got himself into trouble. Long before Dragaunus attacked he was already off the grid. Duke didn’t know where he was and assumed the worst. WELL THEN- years later now on Earth Kirqut showed up with a bunch of space fire warlocks being a master of sorts in fire magic. He challenged Duke to a duel, for some reason blaming him for Annabelle’s death even though he had nothing to do with it. Turned out Kirqut was a bit brainwashed by whatever bad magic group he got tangled in. Duke informed him that Annabelle was alive and just a few hours away. The two of them fight until Anna shows up and is like WTF and slaps some sense into Kirqut and everything is now then fine and they have to beat up some space warlocks its fineeeeee.

Anyways Kirqut can’t play hockey anymore because of his abuse of fire magic he can’t be on ice long or it starts to melt. Look man I was 15 when I originally came up with this stuff. I dunno WHY. Both Anna and Kirqut end up living in Malibu and called in to help in fights when needed.

Nina who is the team’s healer would probably learn some general ice skating out of curiosity. She gets shipped with Grin. lol. Bo who is the team’s leader would learn some skating and casual Hockey out of curiosity I believe too but never play professionally.

Bleu is too busy being a badass witch to get into games. Gobi is more of the business side of the team. Back on their planet he was more a merchant that was funding the team but also could do a little fighting. Would rather have Phil’s job than play hockey. The other person on the team I can’t remember how to spell his name lol. Soldren? Something like that. I think he would be interesting in learning ice skating/roller blading but that would be it for him too. OH GOD I forgot the strong guy on the team that was pretty much GRIN lawd. Yeah he wouldn’t play either. 

REX -

He’s a char that is Dragaunus’ son but ends up going to the duck team with the second generation. He would totally want to learn everything about hockey. Maybe partly motivated by the fact he end up dating Mercedes who is Nosedive’s daughter and his mom is my main OC Duluna who is Duke’s sister.
