“Still standing here?”

“Mhm.”

Tonight was great. You went with Jack to this beach party he was invited to and despite thinking you were gonna hate it, it was actually pretty fun. Though you would never admit that to him.

The warm air of summer brushes past you with a soothing coo of relaxation. The music from the party being distant in your ears; hearing chatter and the crashing of the waves in harmony.

“You don’t talk a lot, do you?” A boy says, one of Jack’s friends named “Trevor” or something—honestly you didn’t mean to forget but it just didn’t stick to you at the moment.

“Not really.” You say and then turn around to walk back into the crowd. After a few minutes of just wandering you bump into the chest of another person. “Excuse me-“

“Well hello pretty lady, you alone?” He says, and you lift up your head a little bit to see the gorgeous sight of your boyfriend, Jack. His smile widens as you two meet eyes and they crinkle at the side a little bit with how hard he’s smiling.

“Hmmm, not too sure if I am….” You tease and he wraps an arm around your waist to bring you closer to you. “Where’d you go? Outside?” nodding your head and bringing your arms to wrap around his neck you give him a small kiss

You two part slightly when a girl makes her way over to the two of you, not even sparing you a glance.

“Jacky! How are you-“ she stumbles—trying to purposefully trip herself into him, but only getting surprised when he grabs you and quickly moves the both of you out her way, causing her to fall flat on the floor.

A few people around her look down confusingly, and you mentally smile at her slightly embarrassed look. She quickly jumps back up to her feet and coughs a little to clear herself up.

“Um, anyways. How are you doing, Jacky?” She says, and looks at you for a second while her face shifts to displeased when she sees his arm around your waist.

“I’m fine. Me and my girlfriend, y/n, are doing pretty well-“ “Jack! Tell your brother he sucks at pool.” A tall brunette says with Luke trailing behind him with a grumbling smile “I do not suck! You definitely cheated!”

“Yeah okay Luke.” Your boyfriend snorts and the random girl is very swiftly pushed to the side while the two boys take over her spot in front of you.

“Hi y/n” Luke says and gives you a small hug while you smile at him in greeting. “Hi, I’m rutger! You can call me rut, Nice to meet you.” The boy takes out his hand and his demeanor is incredibly friendly, shooting him the same smile you gave to Luke “I’m y/n. You’re a pool expert?”

“Nah, but I could definitely beat you if you play like this dude over here.” He jokes while nudging over to Luke and he replies with a ‘so not true’

“You’re so on!” The two of you run over to the table, already joking around about which one of you would get which side.

“That’s new? She doesn’t really click with people like that…” Luke says and Jack nods, looking at the two of you. “It is rare, but sometimes it happens. Rutger has that younger brother vibe which is probably why they clicked so fast. Y/n has a soft spot for family.”

“Jack! Get over here! I am not having Luke as my partner again” “that’s my boyfriend!”

“Why didn’t you tell me you were alone? I would have came too!”

“Rut, I like my alone time outside” you giggle, seeing him plop down on the seat next to you, making an ‘O’ shape with his mouth.

“Well, Jack was looking for you earlier. And Trevor was complaining that you didn’t like him?” “It’s not that I don’t like Trevor, I don’t really know him like that.”

“you don’t know him either!” A muffled voice comes from behind the glass window you’re in front of, turning around to see Trevor (apparently) and Jack looking at the two of you.

Jack grins, mouthing a ‘hi Baby’ to you while Trevor freezes and backs up from the window. “…a little creepy.” “I didn’t even know he was there.” Rutger laughs and you scoff

“He’s kinda right though, I only just met you at the party two days ago.” Rutger says, leaning back into his seat. “Yeah, but you give off like a friendly sibling vibe. Whoever that is gives me random dude vibes which is true cause he is.”

“Can you at least make an effort to learn my name? As Jack’s best friend I think I deserve some respect!“ Trevor whines and Jack opens the door, already tired of talking to you through the window. “you are not my best friend.” “Then who is?” “You are, obviously.” Jack says to you in response to your question.

“Y/n! Come here, I need help with my hair.” Ellen calls you over and you gently excuse yourself from the porch as the boys talk amongst each other.

A few minutes later, the same girl from last night slides into your spot and everyone stops talking. “Hey guys, what’s going on?” “Um, nothing much. Just waiting for y/n to get back I guess. Where did you come from?” Rutger says and she fakes confusion, purposefully ignoring his last question. “who’s y/n?” “My girlfriend. You saw her last night at the party.” Jack says and she furrows her brows.

“Oh, her? I talked to her outside too, not very friendly.” “Yeah, you just have to get close to her. Unless you’re Rutger apparently.” Trevor sighs and Rutger lets out a little laugh “I don’t know, she really seemed like she didn’t like me.” “She might warm up to you eventually.” Jack cuts through shortly, not wanting to leave a space where she could talk negatively about you.

He thanks everything when he sees you walking back up to them, another smile gracing his lips. “Your mom is literally the best Hughes.” “Should I take offense to that or no?” He jokes and you shrug.

“Hi.” The girl sitting in your seat says and you nod your head back in greeting. “Can I get a hi too?” “Hi Travis.” “My name is Trevor!” Giggling, you let out a small ‘oops’ and Trevor knows for a fact you’re messing with him now.

The girl eyes you down carefully, as if she’s trying to pick out a flaw while you stand there and look at something on your phone.

“Oh shit, we gotta go. Promised Luke I’d go with him to watch a movie. You wanna come, babe?” “Nah, I’m good. I’m probably just gonna relax.” “I can go.” The girl says with an exaggerated ear piercing voice, and Jack can’t help but cringe. “Um, Luke said guys night only. Bye! Bye babe.” He kisses you goodbye before shoving rutger and Trevor out and away so the girl couldn’t question him.

You stand there and watch while the boys pull out of the driveway, waving a goodbye and seeing them drive off. Eventually, the boys leave and it’s just you and this mystery girl here.

You move to go back inside, and she follows you from a distance.

Walking into the kitchen, you take out a pack of strawberries and wash them off before grabbing a cutting board and beginning to cut them into pieces, trying your best to ignore the weird girl behind you.

“Do you even like Jack?” She questions and you pause before turning around to look at her. “Who are you?” You say, before turning back to your strawberries. “I’m Kianna. I live next door. I don’t think you’re a good fit for Jack.” “Good thing I don’t care what you think then, Kianna.” She huffs and you slide your diced strawberries into a cup, moving to take ice cream out of the freezer and scoop it into a bowl.

“That’s rude.” “It’s not rude, I don’t know who you are. Why would I care about what you think if I don’t know you?” You respond, and place your strawberries on your ice cream before leaving to go upstairs into Jacks room. “You don’t want to get to know me?” “Why would I want to get to know someone who’s trying to steal my man?”.

You can hear Ellen open the front door when you disappear up the steps and slow down so you can hear their conversation.

“Oh! Kianna, honey… what are you doing in here?” Ellen says and she freezes “um, I was talking to Jack’s girlfriend and she just went upstairs.” “Oh, y/n! Isn’t she great? I just love her so much, such a sweetheart! Jack’s just so in love with her too.” Ellen says and you can feel the awkwardness radiating off of Kianna. “U-um, Mrs. Hughes, I’m gonna head home now. Bye.” She mumbles before making her way out the door.

You snicker before walking up into Jacks room and turning on the latest episode of your favorite murder tv series.

You wake up to feel Jack laying down next to you, Arms wrapped around you and his body slightly squishing yours.

“Hey. Had a nice nap?” He buries himself into the back of your neck, smiling when he hears you giggling with a sigh.

“Was soo nice. You have fun at the movies with Luke and the others?” “Yeah. Was a great movie. Would’ve been better if you were there though.”

Silence is the only thing heard between you two. The tv doing all the talking you need to fill in the empty air.

“My mom said Kianna was in here earlier. She trouble you at all?” You roll onto your other side to face him properly and play with his hoodie. “Nah, she tried to intimidate me but it didn’t work.” “Intimidate you how?” “Tried telling me she didn’t think I was good for you or whatever, but I literally don’t even know that chick. Why would I care?”

Jack hums in agreement as he snuggles closer to you. “She’s just upset cause I’m not dating her. I’ve never liked her, but I’ve been nice because she’s like my summer neighbor or whatever.” You smile and nod in acknowledgment.

“I don’t care what she thinks. Like I said, I don’t know her.” “My mom secretly hates her too, but don’t tell her I told you that.” He whispers and you smile.

“I love you so much.” He mumbles into your neck and you sigh in contentment. “I love you too, J.” You two share a few kisses before you hear knocking on the door.

“Hey. Tell y/n her favorite Hughes brother just came home.” “Quinn!” “Hey! I’m here too!” “Shut up Luke!”

legolas headcanons:

is, by all accounts, the worlds most awkward elf

most of the fellowship doesn’t even realize how weird he is

thranduil did not socialize his boy well. legolas is not aloof he just has no idea what he’s supposed to be doing.

will walk very slowly with exaggerated movements around hobbits because he thinks they won’t see him otherwise.

the hobbits thinks this is elf custom. frodo theorizes this is because elves want to rest their eyes and ears when they’re at home, so other elves like to announce themselves so no one gets spooked.

this is aided by the fact that legolas loudly announces his presence whenever he enters the room, just incase you missed it.

this conclusion is false. legolas will approach other elves by charging at them, full speed. alternatively, shooting an arrow in their vicinity for a vibe check.

he also likes shooting at people to wake them up and/or scare them

legolas likes that it’s a gentle reminder to his companions that he could kill them at any time and they should be honored that he doesn’t.

aragorn has options about this. legolas tells him that he should be grateful that such a skilled elf is on his side and cares for him. aragorn maintains that if legolas really cared, the elf would stop waking him up with ‘good morning’ shots. he also would like to note that legolas’s loud singing is only slightly better than an arrow flying at you first thing in the morning:

legolas tries to make friends by staring at them from afar and when they look at him he looks away. like a cat. he will also blink at u as if to say “look! i like you! i’m closing my eyes!!!” again, like a cat.

will bring you small gifts to curry favor, also like a cat. interesting rocks and pretty feathers, samples of dirt, fallen leaves in different shapes and colors, and whatever flowers are near by and catch his eye. gets very upset if you don’t marvel at them for the appropriate amount of time.

will eat bites off of your plate. this is a form of endearment. he’s showing he trusts you and likes you. he’s also showing his inability to cook and hopes you’ll take pity on him by sharing your food.

sometimes will intentionally walk loudly around the camp if he’s bored, angry, or lonely so he can wake aragorn up and they can be awake together :)

likes to sing, loudly, at inappropriate times

no one in the fellowship has seen him piss. some of the hobbits are under the impression that elves don’t pee. aragorn and gandalf do not correct them.

up at the asscrack of dawn. this is annoying, because he’s chipper, looks amazing, and is a tad judgements that you aren’t as well.

captain obvious as well as worlds most unhelpful elf ever. will point out your mistake, claim to know how to fix it and half the time not offer the solution or his assistance.

cannot do laundry. he doesn’t even get dirty enough to consider it, and with how little people in middle earth wash their clothes anyway, none of his clothes have been cleaned for easily centuries.

is very confused by dogs. doesn’t understand what he’s supposed to do with them. they’re always so happy and want (physical???) attention and,, it’s not a one and done thing either. you’re supposed to keep petting them? after you already pet them.

they’re like wolves, but smaller and maybe stupider. they also stink. boromir has explained to him many times that dogs are man’s best friend and are beautiful creatures. this worries legolas, because that means either dogs are more evolved than they let on,, or men are significantly further behind than elves than he first thought..

can not play the harp. is upset by this fact.

never really bothered to learn how to harp, either.

he believes he should be able to play the harp regardless because the harp is just a big bow with many strings. this is, in fact, false.

will eat anything. mushrooms and questionable berries mean nothing to him.

this upsets aragorn as he believes legolas is setting a bad example for the hobbits, dispite hobbits having the most durable digestive systems. (note: elves can eat almost anything, but hobbits have the stomach of a labrador retriever. they are always hungry, can can eat anything, even what they’re not supposed to)

DID set a bad example for boromir, who mistakingly ate some of the berries legolas offered him and had the shits for weeks.

is like 90% sure who frodo is. it’s definitely one of the hobbits. it’s probably not the one with the pony.

is faceblind. he can’t recognize other people’s faces for the life of him. if you asked him to pick out aragorn in a sea of humans, he’d panic dispite knowing the man for 50+ years.

this also goes for all races, including dwarves. gimli thought he might just be racist and covering his ass, but then watched him stall for like 30 minutes making small talk with some lorien elves and try (and fail) to pick celeborn out of the crowd.

does know what galadriel and thranduil look like. has a hard time pointing out elrond.

will forget your name almost immediately after you tell him. guys like 3k old and has met a lot of people give him a break

to be fair he does know who you are and what you sound/look like. defining features like voice and hair help a lot. it’s just if you were to give him a book of cropped faces and ask him to name, just one,,, he’d panic and throw it at you.

feels robbed of the golden ages,, resents the fact that the world he knows is drastically different that the world he could have been. wishes there were more elves his age and just more elves in general.

that being said he wouldn’t change this for anything as the world he’s in gave him the friends he’s made and the adventure of a life time :)

he doesn’t wash his hands. like ever or at all.

just got out of a late showing of Talk To Me and I have thoughts!

⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️SPOILERS AHEAD ⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️

so let's dive in while it's still fresh in my mind

Grief is a heavy player in this movie and that's what makes it so good. So much of what happens is because of Mia not being able to let go or face her grief. she's vulnerable to the spirits/demons/souls because she's lonely and sad and she's trying to find anything to make her feel.

The opening scene was absolutely amazing! it sets up how fucking crazy the movie is going to be. It brings us into the world where everything is for views, everyone is entertainment even when they're suffering. It's not the focus of the film but they way social media guides the story is interesting.

to add to the previous point, every time someone does the "game"/seance, the others whip out their phones with lightening speed. They laugh, they point their cameras at the possessed and scream and shout in joy regardless of what the possessed is doing. we see this in Daniel's first go which is a weird sexual possession that leaves him embarrassed and scared, whereas the group is laughing and recording. it's also what brings Mia to the hand in the first place, she keeps seeing the videos posted of people playing the game and having "fun"

I really liked the kangaroo scene because it was so jarring and the foreshadowing was just mwah. wonderful.

I will admit Mia got annoying because you want her to know that she should stop, but she won't. I was literally trying not to yell at the screen lol

on the other hand (ha hand), I get it. She was desperate, grief will do that to you, she just wanted answers and closure. And that can drive you mad.

The gore/violence in the movie was so good for a possession film! The Riley scene was intense and had the small amount of us in the theater squirming and yelling and gasping. And the limbo/purgatory scene although brief was not what I was expecting and it blew me away, it gave cronenbergian/yuzna's Society [1989] vibes.

the cast was very very good! Sophie Wilde played Mia with such an intensity and passion that drew me in even when I didn't care for her character's actions. And the supporting cast stood their own which was awesome because sometimes in horror those other characters can sometimes get pushed aside or fade into the background.

the sound design had me so tense! I swear I thought I was hearing things and not sure if it was me or the movie. We don't talk enough about sound when it comes to horror. It's honestly what really scares me, more than the actual scenes, it's the score that revs up my anxiety and fear.

All in all, the movie was really good! I'm not even a huge fan of possession horror but I was excited to see it and really glad that I did. I know it's been greenlit for a sequel which would be interesting depending on where they take the story but I'm definitely more interested in the prequel that they've already made!! I hope it gets picked up by A24 like the sequel is because I definitely would like to know more about the hand and mythology behind the "game".

Just to add on some more personal thoughts: It's interesting to me how often grief plays a role in horror. From Midsommar to Hereditary to The Babadook to classics like Pet Sematary, the list goes on. We are vulnerable when we're grieving, easier to let bad things in or ignore the people who love us who are trying to help. When I watch horror about grief, it gets to me more often than any others because I've known grief like a childhood friend. It's been with me my entire life. But I've learned to handle it better than I used to, and with movies like this it's a safe place for me to let it consume me, let it be messy and overwhelming like it is for the characters in the movie.

Anyways to wrap this up please go see Talk To Me! If you like possession movies you'll like it, if you like movies with deeper layers you'll like it, it feels like there's a little bit of everything to appeal to most horror fans.

the music is blasting so loud that y/n can feel each beat reverberating through her head.

chicago is new to her, having just moved from a small town with her best friend who had always wanted more adventure.

and, of course, adventure involves going out to clubs and bars.

sure, y/n enjoyed spending time with her best friend and being social. but admittedly loud clubs weren't exactly her scene.

regardless, she sits at one of the tables, her best friend beside her.

"come on, let's dance!"

before y/n can respond, her best friend has disappeared into the crowd.

keeping an eye on her, y/n doesn't follow, taking a sip of her drink and continuing to people-watch.

there are several waitresses walking with trays of drinks, delivering both fancy cocktails and bottles of cheap beer to awaiting customers.

they pass her by, seeing that she has a mostly full drink in front of her.

that is, until, a brunette with dark eyeshadow approaches her, empty tray in hand.

"hey gorgeous, can i grab you something?"

y/n is almost speechless, completely in awe of the woman standing in front of her. she knew she would be able to explore her sexuality in chicago more than she did back at home, but she didn't expect to fall in love at first sight.

"i think i'm okay for now. i'm kinda babysitting this drink. thank you though."

the woman smiles, making y/n feel weak in the knees.

"just wave me down if you need another drink. my name is fiona, in case you need my attention."

and then she winks, and y/n swears she almost loses consciousness.

finally standing up to find her best friend, leaving her finished drink behind, y/n makes her way into the crowd.

she finds herself gently moving with the music, finally linking arms with her best friend to dance.

"i'm gonna go get us some more drinks," y/n proposes, watching her best friend continue dancing.

she simply nods, and y/n makes her way to the bar, only running into fiona refilling her tray.

"hey beautiful, whatcha doing up here? i would have brought you a drink."

"oh, i, uh..."

"don't get nervous, honey. i'm just playing around with you. what can i get for you?"

"oh, nothing for me. just a vodka soda for my friend, please."

"i got you, babe. but my shift ends in a few. wanna dance?"

y/n can't respond in any other way but nodding.

"here's a vodka soda for your friend. meet me on the dance floor in a few," fiona replies, gently touching y/n's shoulder.

"you're not gonna believe this. that hot waitress has been flirting with me," y/n looks at her best friend, still in disbelief that she had gotten so lucky.

More of mysterious reboot . People think your acting is new , that you tend to commit yourself very well to your role. Although some think you can be expressionless and a bit just of void like that of the death card.  Some think your bit psycho like the roles you play in film. This the supernatural pile to , where your cast in a lot of horrors , dealing with death , being the role of someone that here to spiritual heal . “Wait, wait, Y/N! Can you take some pictures of me in front of the gum wall?” Joshua shoves his phone in your hands, making you groan in annoyance as you switch to the camera and turn around to take some photos of him. 

You are met with an explosive array of colours and flavours of the gum wall as Joshua steps ridiculously close to it, posing in front as if the intense smell of old and dry bubblegum wasn’t surrounding the two of you and all the other tourists around. Okay, but who thought that planting bubblegum on the wall was a grand idea? It’s a strangely appealing popular attraction, but... why?

You couldn’t help but cringe playfully at some of the poses he was taking, but you obliged anyway knowing how much capturing memories meant to him and how much he thrived on posting photos online to his Instagram. You end up spamming probably around twenty photos in his camera roll, and perhaps a total of nearly a thousand throughout the entirety of the trip.

Once Joshua steps down from the wall, he walks up to you and eagerly grabs his phone back, flipping through the multitude of photos you took of him from all kinds of angles. 

“Wow, you got great shots,” Joshua gives you a few thankful pats on the back as the two of you quickly scatter out of the alleyway and back onto the bustling city sidewalks. “Thanks, Y/N.”

You scoff teasingly. “Pfft, what am I? Your personal photographer? You better be giving me credits when we get back home.”

Joshua gasps dramatically, raising a hand up as if surrendering. “It’s quite rude of you to think that I won’t be crediting you. I’ll even tag every single one of your socials, including your private accounts.”

You playfully shove him away, shaking your head dismissively. “Ah, I take it back. Don’t give me credits, please.”

Joshua just gives you a mischevious, amused look. “Too late. Come on, I know a good café around here.”

He leads you into a nearby café down a couple blocks away. As you enter together, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and pastries fills the air, and you already begin to feel the excitement of the day begin to subside into the café’s cozy and relaxing atmosphere. This was definitely your preferred place and crowd to exist in.

You find a table in the corner as Joshua heads to order for the two of you, peering around to the other tables to find everyone seemingly in their own little world. After a few moments, you feel your phone vibrate in your pocket, and you swiftly reach in to take it out.

The name that pops up in your notifications brings an immediate grin to your face, enough to somehow make the entire world fade into insignificance.

And you probably get a bit too lost that you don’t notice Joshua approaching with drinks.

“Texting Seungcheol?”

His voice almost makes you drop your phone in a panic.

“I... No, I-I wasn’t.” You snatch your drink from his hands and take a long sip to relieve yourself.

“Come on, I know you like him. Ever since the birthday party the two of you looked awfully close.” Joshua comments teasingly, sliding into the seat in front of you and leaning in close. “I think... if I remember correctly, the two of you left the house together for a walk at some point?”

Is this man a telepath or something? A wizard of some sorts? Was it the cousin instincts in him that was kicking in?

You feel the blush growing in your cheeks, making you take another sip of your drink to help cool away your nervousness. Joshua always had a knack for picking up the subtleties of your body language, even if he was all the way across a damn café. Or maybe you were just blatantly obvious𑁋that’s probably what it is.

“Out of all people he just happens to be one of your best friends.” You murmur lowly under your breath. 

“You’re saying that like it’s a curse.” Joshua chuckles, sipping his own drink.

You smile faintly to yourself. “It’s nothing like that. It’s just...” You look up to meet Joshua’s intrigued eyes. “...I want to do it right, you know? Relationships... have never been my thing.”

Joshua leans back in the seat, heaving out a sigh. He understands your hesitation. “Yeah, I know,” Then he leans back in. “but Seungcheol is patient, I can assure you. And... if you want to know anything more about him or any advice, you can always come to me. I can always work my magic.” And then he gives a stupidly disgusting wink.

All you do giggle and give him a grateful nod. Joshua is truly your cousin and best friend in one.

I recently discovered your blog and I like it very much. I love they way you express your opinion and the way you explain things to make your point.

To be honest, I am a baby army. Started listening BTS at the beginning of this year (I KNOW, what the f was I doing before? No fucking clue ugh!). This also makes me a new Taekook stand, which can be super overwhelming. Reading you blog helps puts things into perspective but I still have a few questions and I would like to know your opinion (sorry if you’ve talked about this before!) I have a lot to catch up on in terms. And find to this, social media edits do not help. They are very biased to say the least

Anyway, on to the questions.

1. When do you think Taekook became a couple? From what I’ve seen and felt, I felt a change in 2020 in the dynamic of everything. This being the videos posted, the run bts episodes, the interviews … I might be wrong but I felt a shift then and wanted to know your opinion.

2. In terms of group dynamics, how do you think the other members feel in terms of Taekook? Like I try to put myself in their shoes and it must be hard to have a good dynamic if they have couple’s fights and things like that…

3. In terms on Fan Service, I can’t help but feel bad when Tae has to witness the constant push of FS between JK and Jimin and unable to express or do anything about it. What do you think about the maknae line’s dynamic in regards to this?

There’s so much information out here sometimes I find myself doubting that they’re actually together but then I witness some instances that brings back my faith.

I’m baby army too. A year now. I just happen to be the kind of person who goes all in and devours content.

Social media edits are so discombobulating for new fans. I definitely found myself falling for some edits that I no longer consider. Fake subtitles, slow motion moments that aren’t actually moments, quora rumours… it’s a lot. I still have to remind myself what’s factual and what’s a rumour I read on a K-pop prediction Twitter. It’s a minefield. I’ve found tumblr quite useful because there’s a lot of people here who can put things into context and clarify and provide the perspective of army who were there at the time. I hope you look at my comments because that’s where the real sense is!

1. When do you think Taekook became a couple? From what I’ve seen and felt, I felt a change in 2020 in the dynamic of everything. This being the videos posted, the run bts episodes, the interviews … I might be wrong but I felt a shift then and wanted to know your opinion.

I wrote a timeline but my thoughts have evolved a bit. I think basically they’ve always been circling each other, always been interested but a combination of hormones and the massiveness of pursuing a relationship they’re societally or business-ly discouraged from having created a lot of shifting and drama. I think maybe early confessions, kissing, all that young love stuff might have occurred here.

I’ve been reading some really interesting thoughts and having great discussion about the various members relationship with the company and how this plays with Taekook.

The conclusion I keep coming to, based only on my reading of it, is that Tae seems to be a rebel with strong will to prioritise his heart, company be damned, but JK seems to be more inclined to follow his head despite his heart being huge and loud. His heart wins more and more though and that’s why you get this on and off vibe of the first half of their ten years.

2018 feels pivotal in that both of them hit a wall of pressure and seemed to separate off into a distinct unit. They get each other, they’re each others self-confessed safe space. They’re united even when the rest of the members aren’t getting through. I’m less convinced now that this was a getting together - maybe a resolve to work through complicated stuff together though.

I’d agree 2020 is a shift and that’s where I’d place it. I’m about to get overwrought but I’m thinking about it a bit lately: Think about like pandemic and the impact that had on the whole world. Suddenly work isn’t the most important thing, suddenly a shift in everyone’s priorities. I know a few people who, despite the scariness of it, actually found they were able to breathe and reassess. I decided to move my entire life back to my hometown and quit my job, very heart over head decision. I wonder if this enforced period of quiet let them reassess too. BTS Monuments shows Tae quiet and alone at home but a jacket that looks like JKs in the back. Maybe they saw each other without the intense workload. Time to talk, time to just be them and see how that worked. And hiatus/chapter two might just be a natural continuation of that. JK seems as goal oriented as ever but braver at prioritising himself and Tae seems to be the same and maybe for the first time their ambitions in heart and head are aligned which lets them move forward more smoothly.

2. In terms of group dynamics, how do you think the other members feel in terms of Taekook? Like I try to put myself in their shoes and it must be hard to have a good dynamic if they have couple’s fights and things like that…

I have a feeling it’s a professional minefield but personally that’s just their best friends in love. Maybe it makes their life a little harder to have a secret to hide but I don’t think they’d resent them. I bet they all have things they need to hide. From what they’ve said, I think Jimin might have been really entwined in it. He’s a natural carer, protective of them both. He’s often first on the scene when Tae is sad and he’s often implied he’s been there when Tae has been crying.

As for couple fights, I think about that post-Tokyo intense awkwardness between Tae and JK where they’re visibly annoyed with each other. That’s one time when it seemed the other guys were involved a little. They just seemed hyper aware of the awkward but kind of eyerolly. The thing about teens and early twenties is that you think everyone wants to know your drama. I’d imagine with maturity, they probably keep fights between themselves.

On an amusing side thought, I’ve seen two videos of potential times of discontent between Tae and JK where Yoongi has given the impression of being quietly in Tae’s corner. I think those two get each other in a really low key way that I find quite lovely.

3. In terms on Fan Service, I can’t help but feel bad when Tae has to witness the constant push of FS between JK and Jimin and unable to express or do anything about it. What do you think about the maknae line’s dynamic in regards to this?

I think it’s had an impact but not where you’d expect. The TikTok edits would have you believe Tae is seething in the corner but I don’t know if that’s entirely true. I have seen video of him seemingly rolling his eyes after laughing at Jimin and JK but it seemed notable because of how isolated it was? He is quite good at a poker face though, right? He bides his time and fills in the real details eventually. Again this is only my sense but I feel a little awkwardness between JK and Jimin over it now it’s happening less? Any time you’re expected to pretend anything is a massive mental drain on anyone. But equally, they’ve entered the buddy system together and I’m assuming that hasn’t been forced on them? So hopefully they just remain close and the fan service was all strictly business for them. Maybe I’m just imagining that they seem weird with each other.

There’s so much information out here sometimes I find myself doubting that they’re actually together but then I witness some instances that brings back my faith.

Mick wasn't exactly pleased to be all dress up to an event, but he didn't have any option, his sister Gina asked him to come with her long time ago since her boyfriend was already busy that night.

It was his job as a good little brother.

This was not a simple event, there were lots of important people that could sponsor the event they would host on the ranch in the next weeks, they had to be there with their greatest smiles and make sure to seal a deal.

The blonde was kind of overwhelmed, it wasn't really his thing doing that much talking, his social battery was running low and all he wanted was to get out of there.

" Are you ok?" His sister asked concerned.

" Yep, just a bit tired, this shoes are killing me." He lied.

The oldest just smiled with her lips pressed, she knew he was lying but decided to make it subtle so he wouldn't feel like he left her down.

"You should go to the bar and bring us something to drink, I don't know about you but talking to all of this people is really tiring me."

Mick chuckled, if he was bad at lying Gina was even worst.

He couldn't say anything when you approached them.

"Gina!" You greeted his sister, you two had met long time ago in a competition.

"Y/N!" She hugged you. "Uh, I almost forgot, he is my little brother Mick".

She would have fun bothering him all the way home, but the blonde made her part shutong up and letting you both talk alone.

"The CS ranch is one of my personal favorite ones in Texas, if you ask me." You told him. "My dad actually took me there to see for the first time a horsing competition, made my first $20 on a bet."

Gina smiled already knowing that story.

" Really?" Mick asked pretty interested, always making eye contact with you.

"Yep, spent them the same day buying a t-shirt."

The german laughted, and Gina took mental notes of everything.

"I would go to the bar for some drinks, I would come back soon." She announced, but neither of you seem really interested beyond giving her a little nod.

" Do you compete?" Mick asked noticing that there were only two logical options for you to be there, either you were a rider or you were someone's plus one.

"Oh no, I am pretty bad at it, but I love the sport." You answered shortly making the blonde a bit frustrated of not getting extra information to answer his questions.

He would for once be a bit more like his sister and ask directly what he wanted to know.

"So? What brings you here?" He asked knowing Gina would be so proud of him.

You smiled even more.

" Guess. " You challenged him smirking knowing he would fail in the attempt.

Mick panicked, thinking what to tell you. He was frowning and his jaw clenched.

You giggled making him realize his expression and changing it to a more relaxed one.

You both talked a bit more, you agreed to talk to them in a more professional manner a few days later to sponsor their event because a man was asking for you full attention.

There was not proper goodbye, Mick couldn't even ask you for your phone, he was fully depending on Gina to hear from you.

He was fascinated.

The oldest Schumacher didn't make any comment until they were both on the car later that night.

" So... you and Y/N seem to get along really well." She started knowing her little comments would make him insane.

"Oh.." He started but then cough to clean his throat and gain some composure. "Yeah, I think she is nice."

Mick hit himself mentally, that sounded so pathetic, too try hard.

"She is." Gina agreed, he thought he was safe until he heard his sister containing her laughter. " And she is totally your type."

The german panicked. Oh no,this was it, he was about to be humiliated.

"Well not now, but imagine your kids would be so cute, and they would have a mama that can shut the man in a riding event, a super woman if you ask me." Gina started talking quickly making with each of her statements Mick get more and more red.

They arrived home and he was glad when his mom was already slept.

He spent the rest of the night thinking about you, he looked you up on Google, he wanted to know more, no, he needed to know more about you.

The next morning tired and all after spending most of the night on his phone he went to have breakfast, his sister and mother were already eating.

"You look like you didn't sleep well, honey. Everything alright?" His momma asked looking at him with concerned written all over her face.

"Yeah, we just arrived really late and that messed up my sleeping routine."

" Yeah mom, his sleeping routine was affected by the fact he stayed until Y/N's o'clock. " Gina giggled, their mother opening a lot her eyes.

"Gina! You are the worst." The youngest protested.

"Gina ve nice to your brother." Mama Schumacher tried to bring peace to the table, but she was curious. " Mick, tell your mama more about it, who is Y/N?".

Mick wanted to desapear.

"He would not tell you, she is the girl from my charity riding afternoon from last year, the one that suggested the betting house." Corinna quickly got who she was talking about. "They were all over each other, if it wasn't because of a man that would still be there talking, mom."

"Y/N, oh, she is really pretty, a really intelligent young woman, oh Micky you should totally go on a date with her."

The blonde wasn't happy with the suggestion.

" Mom..." He protested.

" See Mick! That is what I told you, do it for the next generation of Schumachers, we need them to be more prefect than us." The oldest said making the three of them laught.

" I would think about it."

The two women celebrated.

Gina's phone vibrated, she looked at it with a wide smile on her face.

" Hey Gi! Hope you had a great night yesterday, I talked with your brother about sponsoring your event, I am free tomorrow night to talk about it a bit more, tell me if you are up to go and have dinner," she read out loud, Mick made a confused expression on why was she so abnormal about a simole text. " Also, could you please give Mick my number? I told him I would sent him my favorite breakfast receipts and I don't want to bother you more."

The oldest screamed like a little child, and stated pocking Mick's side. "SHE IS ALSO INTO YOU."

"Gina, clam down." He pleaded not knowing how to even act.

"Ok Ok, I would go make you a plan to go on that dinner with her and you can thank me later by naming you first kid Ginger." She hugged him and started running upstairs.

" You are the worst!" The blonde told her and his mother just giggled.

Jamil x reader: Happy Birthday!

It happens to be my birthday today (woohoo!) and I wanted to write a drabble for one of my favorite twst characters. I hope you enjoy!

Jamil's seen birthday a lot celebrations: big cakes, lots of people, dancing, gifts. He's never really thought about holding one himself, or at least because he really wanted to. Kalim's birthday parties were more like a duty than a desire to the vice dorm leader, and while he had nothing wrong with Kalim he didn't really like the dorm leader's extravagance. Jamil wanted to have a good time, but maybe one that was more mellow. Speaking of which, he had to plan out a birthday event for someone special: you.

The two of you had been dating for a while, both of you first liking each other after finding similar hobbies in basketball, dancing, etc. However, what he really liked about you was how you treated him as an individual rather than an extension of Kalim. Jamil wanted to give you something special for your birthday, but he wasn't sure what he thought would suffice.

Kalim recommended throwing a really big party, like a really big one. Maybe the two of you could rent a private island his family owns! No, that was too much for someone like Jamil, though the idea sounded luxurious. When asking his basketball friends, Floyd said finding something rare to give you would be cool while Ace said just inviting a few friends should be good enough (the gift can be whatever, at least in Ace's words).

Jamil liked how he got a lot of suggestions, but he was upset that none of it really fit with what he envisioned would become a perfect birthday. Because of this, he had to take matters into his own hands.

"Hey, Najma?" Jamil was calling his sister. Sure, sisters might not know everything when it comes to relationships, but Najma was much more social than Jamil was (at least in his opinion).

"Yeah, what's up? You usually don't call me unless you need something," Najma replied, she sounded like she was outside in the souq.

"What kind of birthday party would you throw?"

"Huh? What a random question," Najma thought for a few seconds before giving her answer. "I mean, you could just share food with whoever you like, spend like some time together and then open presents, watch a movie, stuff like that. You know, just being with people and vibing."

"Ah, I see. Got it, thanks," Jamil nodded and before Najma could ask more, he called off. The next thing to figure out was what kinds of foods to bring. You did like the curry he made once, so maybe he could start off with that.

When your birthday rolled around, Jamil invited you over to his place. What awaited you there was a nice seating area at the center of his room, a nice dinner, and a little box on his desk.

"Wait, is this for something special?" you asked, and Jamil looked at you with wide eyes.

"Y/n, it's literally your birthday."

"Oh, oh you're right I forgot completely! Shoot I should've baked something so we could share it!" you crossed your arms and thought about how you were so busy you forgot about your special day.

"It's fine, I got a cake for us anyways. I should be the one treating you out," Jamil responded.

Sitting down and trying the curry, you couldn't help but notice how rich the taste was. You knew Jamil was a cooking genius but this was on another level.

"How do you cook so well, you need to teach me!" you exclaimed. Jamil just shook his head and said he wasn't that good or talented. Dang it if only he had a bit more confidence than just saying that.

You two spent most of the night talking and enjoying the food. He sang you a quick happy birthday song (you two both think it's miserable to put anyone through the song anyways haha) and then it came to opening your present. Jamil walked over to his desk and picked up the box, handing it to you and saying "open it."

When you did, what you found inside was a hairpiece, shaped similarly to some of the ones that he has. It was probably one that you pointed out during a trip to his hometown.

"Ah! I remember these! Wow, thank you so much!" you hugged him. Jamil awkwardly hugged you back, still not used to physical affection.

"Ah, no worries, I just thought it would look nice on you," he mumbled, trying to hide the fact that he was blushing.

"Aside from the gift though, thank you for the amazing night. I think this was the best way for me to spend my birthday," you added on. Jamil couldn't help but smile softly at that.

hey, i've barely interacted with you but i think this is appropriate for me to say bc i just saw what happened- i hope you're ok, i hope you know you've got people who truly care for you (i mean just look at your lovely moots! reading their notes made me tear up man) and i hope you take time to heal. you will heal.

however. as someone older than you with more experience ig (i hope this doesn't sound presumptuous/rude) i feel like i should tell you a couple of things, what with the appalling hate you've been getting. first off- please be mindful of what you post on here. or any social media. i know you've got your friend circle on tumblr and you guys have your interactions, but please think twice before you post super private info. especially your age, home situation, personal stuff like that. i think it's one of the main things that makes it easier for hateful anons to send target people and shit.

second, i know it's tempting to cuss out angrily at those stupid anons, but just. don't. take a breath, delete the ask. you responding just aggravates them more, your friends get pissed, and continue the vicious cycle. responding with edgy comments and pointing out their grammar flaws- it's not helping any of you, it's not throwing anon off either. it's encouraging them and spreading negativity to everyone.

maybe this seems like it's very easy for me to say. after all, what do i know what you've been through? i'm not gonna act like i understand what you've faced. but i've faced similar shit. i may not know how you feel right now, but know what all this feels like, loife. it sucks. but posting about hate anon(s?) again and again will just make things worse. please, for your own well-being at least, and your friends, don't pay attention to anon. disable it if you feel like you should do that. clear out anon-related stuff completely. act like they don't exist, because that's the only way they'll fucking stop. your friends are amazing for standing up for you, but them attacking anon is just fueling their bullshit. also, it might not be my place to say this, but take some time off tumblr if you feel you must. take a breather. you don't have to post everything about your personal life, it brings more harm than good.

one aspect about them i love – the fact that he was literally a fucking TERRORIST????? like mr byrne WHAT were you cooking. like hmmmm they want me to expand on these random superheroes i made just because we needed them for a wolverine backstory...... i know I'll make one of them a former terrorist! and it's not even subtle or coded before the reveal like the way he's like "never thought i would be going to the parliament without a bomb under my arm" like HELLO?????

one aspect i wish more people understood about them – i do not think he should be a brunch gay idk im very early on in my readthroughs comparatively (mostly bc im scared) but like .... idk i don't get that vibe at all it feels like a default instead of character exploration. also why did he and quicksilver hug that one time im still puzzled abt that. i guess writers seem to make him much nicer than he is n like. no he should be so mean he makes some people cry!!!

one (or more) headcanon(s) i have about this character – he hates social media with a passion but he loves taking selfies at the gym so kyle's phone is almost constantly blowing up with thirst traps that would do numbers on twitter or wherever but it's just one guy getting them, his husband. maybe he uploads incredibly rarely to instagram but gets annoyed with it real quick

one character i love seeing them interact with – so far in my readthrough northstar and any woman he's such a misogynist it's so funny. they should bring that part of his character back bc it's literally so funny. uhm anyway they haven't actually interacted after the alpha flight / xmen comic but him n rogue were so quality they're just good. a good dynamic i hope they hang out soon

one character i wish they would interact with/ interact with more – michael? could not tell you what the dynamic between those two is and i wish they had more going on because it could be an interesting juxtaposition. he could teach michael to go batshit a lil more often perhaps n michael could teach him to be slightly more normal to women i guess

Hey, first of all let me say your writing is amazing. Absolutely, hands down amazing. You truly bring Hayffie to life every single time. Begin Again, Tolerate It and Exile are some of my favorite songs, I'd love to see what you can come up with. Especially in Begin Again, it would be really cool if we could see Effie's other love interests-romances (what are your thoughts on Seneca?) and how they correlate to Haymitch.

thank u so much for ur kind words omg they absolutely made my morning!! exile and begin again are also some of MY fav songs so i definitely hope to get around to them at some point in the future :) i'm less sure about tolerate it because i'm not sure how i'd approach it in relation to hayffie, but who knows maybe i'll figure something out!

on the topic of seneca, i know his relationship with effie is mostly collective fandom delusion but i LOVE it anyway. i think effie crying over katniss hanging the seneca crane dummy in CF lends some credibility to the headcanon, plus i think it's entirely plausible that they both came up in very close capitol social circles (think late-19th century upper-class new york, the 400 families type of vibe). i like to imagine that effie and seneca were pretty close when they were younger, they eventually dated, and then they sort of grew apart as they got older but they still have the occasional on-again-off-again situation, especially since they work in the same industry. i think in some weird twisted way they're like a safe space for eachother, you know? their relationship is something they know they can always come back to when they need it. i would say that the most i've ever written about effie + seneca is in vi. no body, no crime, but i definitely hope to include more glimpses of them in future!

i do think effie's romantic relationships outside of haymitch are a really good way to explore her character more. ngl i have a pretty detailed list of minor ocs that i use for effie's non-haymitch relationships (cassius gallopetal, glint, old man maximus, and antoni are all the ones who've made brief appearances i believe) because i think it's suchhh an interesting way to explore not only who effie is at different stages in her life, but also how she conceives about relationships / love outside of haymitch. so i definitely hope to explore those things more in the future :)

I’m gonna preface this by saying that I hope Byler doesn’t end up being canon, and in my opinion they’re taking the route that Will is going to confess, and Mike will friendzone him as he doesn’t feel the same way. I want Mileven to be together as it’ll make me happy. Hope I’m not being aggressive.

Anyway. I don’t really understand what Duffers are trying to accomplish in the story now. They are making sure that we know Will is gay without stating it at this point. They are giving us Byler scenes that contain typical romance movie tropes. They are subtly trying to hint there’s a possibility that Mike isn’t in love with El. So what’s the point? Why are they basically going to have Mike reject Will and say he loves El? Why would you make it look like a story is going a certain direction (Byler + Single El) then proceed to make the opposite happen (Mileven + Single Will) in just few seconds?

Then them having Mike say in season 2 that asking Will to be his friend is the best thing he’s ever done (Not meeting the girl he’s in love with lmao), then in season 3 saying that she’s the most important thing to him in the world (I can’t believe what he said in the shed has changed and now that he became closer to El some memory with her replaced meeting Will?? I highly doubt that and if that was the case I’d laugh).

This semi-love triangle in general is confusing. Though they don’t know the fate of characters or what will happen, there’s copious amounts of Byler content on the various Netflix social media - to the point you can easily forget about the existence of Mileven - which there’s barely any mention of.

I don’t trust Duffers at all it just gives off bait vibes.

You're not being aggressive at all. I appreciate how you've respectfully addressed this with me considering you probably know my stance on who Mike should be with.

The only reason I could see for them to go with this love triangle is to compare and contrast the relationships. Sorry to say, but Mike and El just bring out the worst in each other. They rushed into a relationship based on one week together and one year apart, a year in which they built up fantasy versions of each other in their minds. When they finally did get together, they just didn't work. They don't know each other, they have nothing in common, and they lie to each other. Mike and Will bring out the best in each other, though. They do know each other, they have things in common, and they're (mostly) honest with each other.

I can't see any reason for them to set the narrative up like this if they didn't want us to compare how Mike is with both of them, as well as how both of them are with him. El was happier in season 3 when they were apart, and she showed more character (and personal) development. Much the same is happening now, as she hasn't really thought about him since she left, instead learning more about her past and probably finding closure with Brenner. Will is miserable when distanced from Mike, which makes sense when you realize they've known each other since kindergarten.

It would make no sense for Mike to reject Will. It does nothing for either of their stories, and, in fact, takes away all that Will (currently) has left in terms of a place on the show. It makes all the buildup for Will and Mike since season 1. Meanwhile, Mike and El got their buildup during season 2. They're no longer in that phase. We got to see them together, and it's just not good. It makes no sense for Mike and El to magically repair their problems, for Mike to magically be able to tell El he loves her and for El to no longer cling to him or lie to him.

There's no outcome for this that makes us both happy, I'm afraid, but this is the situation the Duffers have written. To me, there's only one outcome that makes sense with what they've set up. El is going to grow as a person, accepting her good and her bad, and realize that she was using Mike as a security blanket that she no longer needs. Mike is going to realize that he was in a forced relationship that started for the wrong reasons, just like his parents. Will is going to get the courage to tell Mike how he really feels. I suppose Mike could still reject Will and we can all be mad together, but that still makes his entire story a waste, in my opinion.

You and I are Polar Opposites - the popular gyaru likes the glasses loner, they're opposites...omg so how they gonna be together? Is she ever going to confess? Yes it happens in chapter one JFJSJFJDJAJDJ. I really wasn't expecting that when I started but it was a nice surprise. As much as I can enjoy seeing the before of a relationship it's is nice sometimes just going after things officialized. The whole cast is a delightful, it's a extremely sweet and fun read, love to see all those characters friendship evolve too. I just wish some characters had a lil more focus,like I can only remember like ...one chapter with the short black haired girl lol.

Hirayasumi - OUGH MY EVERYTHING. What if we were just having a good time. Trully a comfort manga,very dear to me I'm so happy the hiatus gonna end soon!!!!

Romance 101 - just like polar opposites that's another romance that focus on the friendships of the cast, what it always really really nice <3 Bareum is such a adorkable sweetheart! It's really fun and nicely written!!!

She Loves to Eat and She Loves to Cook - ELAAAAS AAAAAA AS QUERIDAAAAS!!!!! It's so nice. At times it feels a bit awkward with on-the-nose metaphors and almost educational with it's message, but those two are such darlings. And I love the new characters as well. Loved the drama as well,excited for season two this month :]

Your Wings and Mine - I wondered if this one counts or not, cause it's not a manga but I already put other webtoons lol. Anyway it's a hysterical comedy absurd non-sense (sometimes maybe a little too much,but just sometimes) and well. It is funny. And I feel invested in the story, I really enjoy Shealtiel arc so far, it really pulls off very well the serious tone when needed!!

4. An underrated gem

Ice Castle Wall - same mangaka of Polar Opposites, IT IS REALLY REALLY GOOD SO FAR!!!!! The vibe is a little less cheerful, but still funny and nice. I feel is just more underrated because unlike their sister it's not licensed, it got a scan working on it but only recently so there's less than 10 chapters avaliable in english for now. I check daily waiting for more. BUT YEAH, because of that is a little less accessable </3 I hope that more people get into it in the future:]

I'm already in love with the protagonist Koyuki,the whole cast so far is very nice!!! It's kinda funny Amamiya going all "I gonna unlock the barriers this person is putting up, we gonna becomes friends cause it brings me satisfaction". Like he's playing mind games to get a good score in social interaction. Meanwhile Koyuko is with her autistic swag playing mind games trying to get out of those situations in the less awkward way she can. It's amazing!!!

12. A manga that made you look forward to every update

I guess every single one of my favorites that still releasing fits here, so hmmn... Aside from that I think Merry Marbling !!

It's a ongoing BL very neat. It's nothing extraordinary, but it's fun. It's by the same author of Robber X Lover and overall I share similar feelings about both manhwas: I really appreciate how it doesn't feel like is following a formula, the characters realize their feelings and deal with situations with not super cliche way. I feel like how genuinely is trying to give more identity for their own characters. It's also funnily stupid and absurd at times and it's mostly aware of it. The art is very adorable too!!
