fun fact but im actually on track for med school and part of the courses i take is also mental health along with physical health (though i have no strong interest in psychology or psychiatry as of right now). anyway it was interesting to read about some stuff, and id have to do more research for this idea i have but basically its the idea that optimus actually has extremely low or near obsolete levels of empathy. he views the autobots and decepticons alike as just a means to an end, but he also recognizes that he himself has no empathy and it wont serve his purpose, so he puts a lot of effort into looking as a kind and gentle leader for his autobots so he can instill a strong sense of loyalty in them. he views them as his in the sense that they are his to guide, manipulate, and order as he pleases, but he will ensure that they stay happy as they do in order to gain the most favorable outcome. so he "cares" in some sense, but its not the way you or i might care. he will be disappointed if someone dies, angry if someone disobeys him and gets hurt, but its not easy to explain, either. just think how cool it would be to read about the leader of the autobots who seems so empathetic and kind but in reality he cant view the ones around him as anything more than his pets or pawns. and opposing that is the leader of the decepticons who feels so much to the point he started this rebellion/war in the first place, and yet hides his grief as well as other emotions in order to be viewed as a ruthless leader to rule his decepticons

As I stated before, I'm a DID system! I state this pretty openly due to the fact it affects every aspect of my daily life- even my posting! PLUS I talk about my system a decent amount. Anyone else in the US with stigmatized disorders, low empathy, aspd/traits, whatever having weird reactions to the political shit going down?

I was raised in a doomsday cult adjacent environment and while I've unpacked and no longer believe the stuff I was raised with, emotionally, the crazier shit gets the safer and more in control I feel.

Like I grew up expecting the apocalypse and now as we dive headfirst into fascism I like know what to do? All the defense mechanisms I spent years building and then years trying to take apart are suddenly needed and useful again. Makes me wonder why I've been trying so hard to "heal". I always knew this place was a toxic hell hole and to survive you have to do whatever it takes

It's that thing they always say in therapy "this is a defense mechanism you built that served you at the time but now no longer serves you" well they're serving me again

Some of us grew in toxic environments and don't know how to live in a healthy one. But now the environment is getting toxic again, and suddenly, a bunch of my "toxic traits" are life-saving skills

So, I made this flag for NPD + ASPD and adjacent! It is general so it can be used by anyone who has either traits of NPD or ASPD or the disorders themselves.

general information…

I am relatively radqueer-adjacent, my beliefs may even go past most of those held by the main community, but labels are hard to keep track of for me. In an ideal world I’d even be a XS; who knows.

I am ethnically and ancestrally roma, jewish, and scandinavian. I am nationally American ( soon to change. ) I also hope to change my race eventually.

I am a transgender transvestite, and I use he/she/it/faer pronouns. My age fluctuates from a pre-teen to a young adult due to DID.

I am prone to harming others, and have been harmed by others. I am autistic, schizo-spec, a polyfrag DID system and score very high on markers for NPD and ASPD. I am a victim of RAMCOA.

I have quite a few internal and an increasing amount of external physical disabilities, which I won’t list here for both my identity safety and for the safety of my poor typing fingers.
