He is seemingly in the Archives as can be seen from the bookselves from which the door emerges. Its body seems to glitch and bleed into its surroundings (not literally). hot take probably but i'm still skeptical about the whole "jonmartin are trapped in the computer" theory.

people are acting like it's basically canon now when it's not. just because there are some thematic connections between chester and jon/norris and martin doesn't mean they're canonically trapped in the computer. it's possible but i would personally like the story to preserve the ambiguous ending in tma.

i think it's more likely that the voices are linked to jon and martin (and jonah, or whoever else) but it's not them directly. i think it would be pretty random too for them to die in the tma world and get stuck inside a computer.

martin has gotten some extremely similar treatment, but (as far as I've seen) at the very least when people try to blast him with the anti-wooby beam and characterize him as abusive the message isn't usually "and this is a morally justifiable way for him to behave," it's more "I fucking hate this guy and think he sucks." which is annoying to come across, but isn't nearly as Actually Bad, yknow?

Sorry for being a s5 enjoyer who is able to analyze its themes and character dynamics and appreciate it for what it was trying to do even if the restrictions of its creation prevented it from reaching its full potential because ultimately it still manages to tell a convincing and well constructed story that brings the podcast to a narratively satisfying end and for having a fat ass. As if it's my fault

i put this in the tags of a post at one point but I'd like to remind my fellow protocol listeners that if Jon and Martin died separately from separate incidents 20 years ago, if they were still born in 1987 and 1988 respectively (although Jon could've been born in '87 as well I'm not sure which is fully canon as either could be true based off info given in ep 81) they would've died in 2004 at 16-17 years old. of course they never met they lived in different parts of the country. as much as the whole "oh they never met in this universe how sad :(" is very sad it also makes sense why they never met!!

every now and then we must remember Jon would rip statements out of ppl, thats like sooooooo👌it's an important fact for us, dark Jon enjoyers. He should've fed more. He should've gotten a bit insane. hey dya think that maybe in the "your choices and their ramifications are still your own and still matter even as you are guided and coerced by outside forces" podcast, when characters constantly tried to pin all blame for the unintended consequences of their own decisions and all the ills of the world on this one fucked up nerd, that maybe those weren't meant to be statements we agreed with uncritically and were instead meant to be messy and flawed attempts of people to grapple with the inherent paradox of being agential beings in a world where they ultimately hold no real power
