Today marks one year of the incomparable @ihopeyoubothstaysafefromharm making this little corner of the world a better place. Joy, you were one of the very earliest Drarry accounts that I followed, in what I realise now must have been your 2nd or 3rd week of posting. I found you through 25 days of Drarry, and stayed for your your beautiful art and even more beautiful heart and soul.

It has been such a blessing and a privilege to watch you grow as an artist and a person over the last year. Every piece of art, every word that you post leaves me feeling raw, like all of my nerves are exposed, in the very best way. Your brain never stops blowing me away.

So happy anniversary, my friend. Thank you for being your incredible self and making so many lives brighter just by being here. I hope you enjoy this fluffy little sequel to The Strings That Weave Us.

Draco sat in the back of his little shop, fingers stitching intricate designs onto fresh linen with utmost precision. These would not be the first handfasting cords that he had embroidered, but they were by far the most important. In less than a week he and Harry would be formalising their betrothal, and Draco was determined to give Harry the best cords in England. 

Blue, for patience and devotion.

He grinned as he pulled the new length of thread through the eye of the needle. Between Harry’s stubbornness and his own prickly personality, patience had been something that they had needed in spades when they had first come together. Draco had quickly discovered, though, that he could be infinitely patient when it came to Harry.

Harry, who waited quietly until Draco was ready to make their relationship public, even though he had been bursting to share his love for Draco with the world. Harry, who still seemed to expect Draco to leave after every nightmare, every panic attack. Harry, who never once raised his voice in anger, who never let Draco go to bed without telling him he loved him. 

No, patience came easily when it came to Harry, the natural outpouring of the devotion Draco felt towards his incredible man.

Grey for balance.

From day one, it seemed like the whole world had been waiting for them to implode. Even their loved ones had expressed concern when they first started dating, worried that they were too different in the ways that mattered most. 

But it was those differences that had made their relationship so strong.

Harry was a morning person, practically bouncing out of bed to make Draco’s requisite three cups of coffee. By 8pm, though, Draco was bundling him under their duvet, watching Harry’s sleep-slack features as he read or worked for another two hours.

Harry went soft over any living creature. The tiny kittens he found shivering under a bush now hunted rats in the Grimmauld Place basement. Their garden was tended lovingly as Harry spoke to the plants, telling them about his day and his plans for the little patch of soil. Every person Harry crossed paths with left with a lighter heart, and almost always a fuller stomach.

Draco went soft over things. Coffee mugs were placed tenderly back on their shelves, matching sets together so they wouldn’t be lonely. Books were dusted weekly, in case their allergies flared. Every year Harry would bring Draco another plushie for their anniversary, and Draco would tenderly tuck them into place on the sun bed — not the spare bed, never spare when his little friends sunbaked on top of one of Molly’s quilts. 

Harry’s emotions were big, were loud. Bounces in place, clapping hands, exuberant yells. Shuddering gasps, heart-rending screams, gut wrenching sobs. Slammed doors and kicked chairs, melodramatic apologies with big bouquets of flowers. 

Draco’s emotions were small, quiet, secret. Trembling finders and shaky limbs, lips pressed tightly together. A rigid spine, a face towards the wall, the inward curl of shoulders. A hand carding through hair, lips on cheeks, a single rose in a vase.

Yes, they were different, but it was what made them work, perfectly balanced against each other. 

Pink for unity and truth.

And for his hair, Draco thought with a chuckle, starting on the third interweaving design. Once, about a year ago, Draco had let the charm fade, his natural blonde peeking through the fairy-floss pink. Harry had sulked for days, singing dirges to his peonies and curling up with the cats for hours on end, refusing to speak to Draco.

The pink had stayed.

It was one of their greatest strengths, Draco thought, that they never concealed anything from the other. They hadn’t even made it to a “proper” proposal, the thought of keeping such a secret — a good one though it was — from each other so unnatural. 

Every thought, they shared with each other. Every fear, every doubt, every self-recrimination. Every dream and hope and decision were shared and cradled and made together. 

It was their greatest strength, and Draco’s greatest joy.

He felt a smile tug at the edges of his mouth as he stitched, the pink the exact colour of Harry’s cheeks when he blushed. 

Pink for rosy cheeks, soft lips, the tips of his own ears when he was embarrassed. Pink for cotton-candy kisses and Teddy’s hair yesterday and the flowers that Harry grew in the spring.

Pink for the colour of his love.

Green for prosperity and health.

And Slytherin, Draco thought ruefully. Green to remind him of his roots and how far he had come. Green to remind him of the good sides of ambition and cunning, and to warn him of the dangers. 

Green for prosperity, not in wealth, but in love and laughter, in bright sunshiny days and soft, tender nights. 

Green for prosperity shared. With friends, family, strangers in the street who looked like they needed a lift. Shared with schools and orphanages and animal shelters.

Shared with each other, always.

Green for health, of body, mind and spirit. Health for their relationship, that it never go stagnant. For the strength to push through the unhealthy times, determined to be healthier and wiser on the other side.

Green for Harry’s eyes, for the mother he never knew.

Red for passion and strength.

It had been the first colour Draco had chosen. Red for his Gryffindor, his Lion in word and in deed. Red for the strength of Harry’s devotion, his emotion, his conviction.

Draco wasn’t a strong man, he knew that. He was easily hurt and easily swayed. He gave up when the going got tough. Until Harry swept in and showed him true strength. Until Harry encouraged him and challenged him and loved him enough that he forgot what it was like to give up.

Forgot what it was like to feel weak and helpless.

Red for the blood shed on both sides, that they may never forget what brought them here. Red for the father Harry could not remember, for the uncles he doesn’t have enough memories of. 

Red for the Weasleys, the strength of their love holding them together on the worst days. Draco had been nervous that first summer after the war, when Aunt Andromeda had orchestrated first his friendship with Harry and then his integration into the Weasley clan. He hadn’t deserved their love, their compassion — still didn’t think he did, in his deepest, darkest thoughts — but they had given it anyway. Strong and steadfast, unwavering in their loyalty first to Harry and then to him. 

They had shown him what it was like to be truly passionate about a cause — what it was to be passionate for a person.

And then Harry had shown him another kind of passion, burning hot, bubbling under the surface, ready to explode at any given moment. A passion shown through tender caresses and whispered endearments as much as it was through lips on lips and skin on skin, sweat-soaked and feverish. 

A passion that matched their string, the shiny red on the vast tapestry of their family, around their wrists. Binding them to each other, and to everyone they loved. 

Draco ran his fingers over the finished embroidery, admiring the contrast and harmony of the various colours. Green for family, blue for godfamily, grey for the beloved deceased. The pink of soft hair and softer lips.

The red of his soulmate, his heart-mate, the love of his life. 

As this knot is tied, so are your lives now bound.

Writing Tips:

Write a lot.

Don't worry about mistakes or editing. Just write a lot to get your ideas out. Practice makes better, and writing a lot will help you gain confidence. You don't have to post it anywhere of you don't want to!

2. Try microfics!

Microfics are a great way to practice writing certain ships, or just practice in general. They're also lovely for getting a feel of posting! They're low-pressure and low-commitment, which is lovely!

3. Find people to write with.

Whether it's people online or in person, find people to talk about writing and write with. It's very motivating and helps hold you accountable.

4. Be gentle with yourself!

This is supposed to be fun. Don't beat yourself up or be too hard on yourself.

5. Write down your ideas.

Ideas come at weird times. Write them down, because you'll forget them.

Tomarry recs Part l

Soooo, for the Tomarry girlies, hope this reaches you. Here are some recommendations of the pair. You should know that all of these have something in common though, aside from being my favorites. These are TOMARRY fanfictions, meaning Harry x Tom Riddle, not Harry x Voldemort. (So, most of them time travel)

I feel more comfortable with this ship, and I’ve found that it tends to be less toxic, (though not always). Another important thing about them is that most put both Harry and Tom in equal footing, meaning: no abuse or manipulation (tho Tom certainly tries), or just any funny business.

If there is anything I love about these fics is how Harry confronts Tom, questioning his beliefs and social standing by just being good ole Harry. Sassy, magically powerful and impulsive Harry. So yeah, enjoy!

- [ ] Wear Me Like a Locket Around My Throat: Technically incomplete, but it’s basically a second part. The main arch wraps up very nicely, so I’d count it as complete. I find your analysis' really fun and I love how JKR, unintentionally created a narrative where drarry somehow has more chemistry than ginny who's literally forgotten in the 3rd, 4th books???? Like mam, if you want to build a romance then make them have actual conversations? I, myself like ginny and like the concept of hinny but the way JKR sucked at writing them infuriated me.

But anyhow, I also love drarry, though as much as I like and agree with your assessment; there is something I'll have to disagree with, and that is I don't harry found draco attractive. Because the thing with Harry is; no matter who that person is, my guy is really honest with how he views that person. Each time as he saw Riddle grow, my guy was like; hot damn. Also Cedric. Sirius. Bro literally calls regulus "not as hot as Sirius" so we are know Harry has never once found draco attractive. As for the gleaming eyes, pointy chin; well I also like giving my characters good description so people would understand what to imagine; I'm not making everyone simp on about everyone. promise!!!!!!

( I just like them falling in love after the war, and Idrc if they found each other good looking or not, I just don't like how people just take basic description of a character and says oh he describes how he looks, he must like him!!!!! No guys, he is just saying bro has a pointy chin and his eyes glows because he probably is gonna do something!!!!!)

I just wanted to get this out and I am not really active on Tumblr, and don't like posting. This is just me wanting to discuss this one hc😞 but I hope u have a good day and I adore ur hcs and analysis.❤️

Thank you! And yeah I feel like JKR really did Ginny dirty with the way hinny happened. I like book 5 Ginny so much more than book 6 and 7 Ginny. She deserved so much better than to be reduced to a love interest who is "Harry's perfect girl" to use JKR's phrase rather than someone who got to be her own fully realized character with a distinct personality and interests (as she was in book 5 before JKR overdid it trying to make her the ideal Love Interest TM). I think it would've been cool if she ended up with Neville since they bonded during their year at Hogwarts in book 7 and fought side by side and mutually respected each other as equals.

It just says it all that after the Battle of Hogwarts Harry doesn't have a single interaction with her. He immediately wants to spend time with Ron and Hermione because he feels a deep bond with them but just vaguely thinks that there will be time to talk with Ginny later. He isn't even sitting by her at the table because it's Luna who is next to him and offers to create a distraction so he can leave.

As for Harry's descriptions of Draco, I'm going to push back on that although of course everyone is perfectly entitled to their own interpretations. The thing is, Harry is extremely judgmental about people's looks and insults the appearances of all the other Slytherins. A lot. But he NEVER does that with Draco. Ron does. Ron insults Draco's looks all the time. But Harry never goes along with it or agrees and his internal monologue and descriptions of Draco are notably lacking the insults he directs at almost every other member of Draco's House as well as other people he dislikes.

But that's not because he isn't looking. Because he is. A LOT. He doesn't just describe Draco's looks. He dwells on them. Repeatedly. We know SO much about how Draco looks because Harry CONSTANTLY notices and mentions it in his internal monologue. Draco's grey eyes are mentioned repeatedly in every book. As is his sleek blond hair. Harry doesn't even mention Ron's eye color once till book 7, but we get multiple descriptions of Draco's eyes down to the exact shade - specifically pale grey. And same for his hair - along with observations about how it gleams in the sunlight. Even when Harry's in danger he takes a second to check out how Draco's looking. And that is at odds with how he describes other characters.

He never calls Ginny pretty or beautiful either but he does seem to have at least some level of physical attraction to her and often describes her hair...and that's pretty much it. Yeah I'm pretty sure that relationship fizzles once the peace happens. (I've read very compelling metas on Harry being gay and I think there's a lot there though personally I do still read him as bi but with a strong preference for men).

Draco is someone that Harry would not get together with till after the war. And I don't think he wants to acknowledge, even to himself, that he is attracted to him. But he sure spends a lot of time repeatedly noticing and describing and thinking about Draco's appearance in a way he doesn't with other characters. Something is making him look. And I think that something is attraction.

Now obviously this was completely not JKR's intent. The problem is that she wrote the story from Harry's POV not from the POV of an omniscient third person narrator. So while she didn't mean to make Harry constantly notice all the cute guys and obsess over Draco's looks for 7 books that is accidentally what she did.

I always see people who have never been antis, talking about/questioning how some antis even ARE antis when you look at their taste in media - ie the ever famous joke of "Hannigram is #problematique" "but it's a show where he eats people" or whatever.

For me, personally, it was a few different things. I can now see how it's incredibly hypocritical that teenaged me shipped Light/L, while still thinking that Dramione was Bad And Abusive. It ultimately boiled down to a) being pretentious, and b) just not understanding media or what proshippers REALLY believed, with a side of c) not realizing that nuance exists. like i was pretty late to join tumblr, I think I immigrated here during PEAK "yourfaveisproblematic" era which definitely did have an impact on my opinions and my tastes.

to elaborate, a.) being pretentious. i mean this one just kinda goes without saying. "I engage in media in a way more intellectual way than you do, don't you know that? You're a filthy and disgusting person who writes Snape/Hermione because you're an actually disgusting pedophile IRL who would probably date your own student that you're abusing if you could. Meanwhile, I'm a very smart, good, and pure person. When I read Uncle Vernon/Harry, I'm doing it in a G-d honoring whump way that clearly condemns abuse, incest, and rape. Unlike YOU who only writes harmful stuff as a way to get people off :/"

Lawlight is okay because notebooks that kill people don't exist so it's IMPOSSIBLE for the Harmful Aspects of Light/L to be romanticized! but schoolyard prejudiced bullies DO exist and are a REAL problem so Drarry is BAD (*truly completely unaware of the fact that there's 'realistic' aspects of the Light/L dynamic and 'unrealistic' aspects of Drarry - such as, for example, Hogwarts arguably being even MORE of a fantasy setting than DN is.*) I know that media literacy is the hot buzzword of the year to throw around in 2024, but, like, i really did not have media literacy.

All I Want For Christmas (Is For You To Stop Talking) by Femme (femmequixotic) & noeon (noe)

This is the first fic I ever bound and also my first ever ficbind posted on tumblr! I've only bound a handful of fics and will be posting the ones I've done when I get the time.

I bound this back in November 2023 (last year), I've been wanting to get into bookbinding for yeeears, and I finally got the nudge to do it after seeing ficbinding was actually a thing!

Since this is the first bind I ever did, there are things I want to change but overall as a first ever bind, I think it's good!

I actually bought the wrong foil and had heat activated foil instead of toner reactive foil for the cover but ... somehow it worked? Kinda?

I also do not own a cricut or silhouette so all the covers were made using Kent paper, hence why you can see the pretty distinct line on the white paper (that's the edge of the black cardstock that's covering the spine)

This was also the first time in my life that I ever touched InDesign, it was thankfully not that hard to learn the basics and I now love to use it! (I do have all my typesets to download for free here if anyone wants them, I'm also able to quickly change them into letter size if you wany since I know most American binders tend to use that!)

I might've gone a little overboard with adding all the details like stars in the corners and by the page numbers and changing fonts, but I think it's a cute typeset seeing as it was my first.

I also tried making my own headbands using literal shoestring and ¥100 fabric and glue, it somehow worked and it looked cute, but this was also the only time they turned out okay I think?

The art added is by @longdaytogo with permission! (Absolutely love their art, it's stunning. Also the reason why I even got back into drarry after a decade long break lmao)

I also didn't know I should add a flyleaf at the end of my bind for this one, hence why it's right next to my endpapers, but hey, it's a first bind!

That was all for my first ever fic bind. It has actually become such a fun hobby and I really enjoy binding fics, I think I've made... 8? In total since November, a lot of the last couple of ones have been purely experimental and kind of wonky and chaotic, but that's (sadly) part of the learning process!

I think it’s wonderful to have so many ships and variation in our fandom, I love exploring all these rare pairs and reading about them.

Hogwarts has been a big journey for you and all the wacky magical things happening. as now you are in senior year, the last year in hogwarts, after that you'll have do the N.E.W.T.s test that is known to be increadibly difficult.

Your really nervous, luckly your friend, Dina is a fellow gryffindor as well. And she's a smart student.

You really want to do well in the test. magic isn't as easy as flickering a wand in the air and boom! your a frog. Its much more complex than that. theory or practice, its hard.

Your now in the library with Dina, studying your ass off. its quite stressful with all the subjects.

Tomorrow is the quidditch match. your house versus slytherin. you can't wait to watch it. its always so much fun watching quidditch. you never really liked playing quidditch since it all looks so exhausting and dangerous, not like hogwarts is not itself. but you rather focus on your studies.

"Dina, im going back. real tired. you coming?" you ask the black haired girl. "Yeah all go back after its actually time for students to get back and sleep" she replied. "Cya" you left the library grabbing your books.

You walk all along the school corridors and went on the anoyying stairs that always move to a different place. its still quite busy. but only with all the seniors. running up and down.

You suddenly bump into someone. an auburn haired girl making you drop your book. "shit, sorry let me get them for you" she bent down to your knees grabbing the books you dropped.

The girl hands out the books back to you. "thanks... ellie?" you thank her while a bit skeptical if thats her name. "no problem" she replied and continues walking down the stairs.

You were right, Ellie williams. captain of the slytherin quidditch team. You see her a lot. she's a big deal. the some what 'anoyying' quidditch captain that always makes their team win in quidditch the past years shes been in hogwarts.

You continue walking up the stairs towards the 'fat lady' painting. You stood infront of the painting. "fibbertigibbet" you said as the painting opened and you step in.

Your basically the first senior to enter since everybody was busy studying while you cant take it anymore. you were too sleepy. so you changed in to your pyjamas and went to bed

Dina waved her hand infront of your face trying to stop you from zoning out and daydreaming too much. "who's the lucky guy your gonna take to dance after the exam?" Dina looks at you hoping you already have a guy to take out to the last senior prom.

"Oh uh, dunno" you slightly shook your head. "who we're you looking at anyways?" she asks curiously. "no one, just uhh.. someone that helped me grab my books when we bumped into eachother last night"

"see? i dont think thats a 'no one' after all! who is it?" she shook your shoulder excitedly. "a girl... you know? slytherin's quidditch captain?" you said nervously.

"are you kidding? ellie? you mean ellie williams? she's bad news!-" Dina said out loudly as you stopped her to make her a little more quite since there was a lot of people looking at you two.

You couln't focus the whole time in potions. you kept having your eyes on ellie making it difficult. you exited the class and went towards the bathroom to wash your face.

You went inside hearing someone crying and ofcourse it is moaning myrtle. the ghost who haunts the girls bathroom.

You saw another girl infront of the sink. you got closer and it was ellie. god, you meet her everywhere. you went to the sink next to her as you turned on the faucet.

Ellie looks at you "hey, never really catched your name last night" slightly tilting her head. "I- im- uh, y/n" you introduced yourself.

"nice meeting you"

"y-you too!" you said nervously.

"whats your next class y/n?" god, she said your name making you blush a little. suprised that she brought up a conversation. "defence againts the dark arts" you replied.

"i should get to clas-" you stepped a bit further from her but she grabbed your left arm. "the teacher wouldn't mind you being late right?" she said teasingly.

"y-yeah he wouldn't min-" suddenly ellie pulls you in a kiss. fuck, you didn't know this would happen so quickly. you kissed her back. her hands on your waist.

"c-can we a go somewhere a little more private? Just incase...-" ellie grabs you and puts you two in one of the stalls locking the door from behind.

She pins you to the door and started giving you hickeys on your neck with you letting out choked up moans as she lifts up your sweater.

You hear someone sniffing, moaning myrtle. "Looks like things are getting a little too spicy in here. you stupid kids forgot i haunt this place? Jeez, get out!"

Shit, you totally forgot about her being her- fuck! Your missing out on professor lupin's class!

"El- ellie im missing class i should go-" you push her back a little. "See you after the match?" You nod as you went outside the stall

You ran around the corridor. 14 minutes late into proffesor lupin's class. luckly it was him teaching so he didn't make a fuss about you being late and you just said you were in the bathroom constapated as hell and he led that slide without you telling him you hooked up with the slytherin quidditch captain.

"were you that constipated? your lucky proffesor lupin isn't absent or you'd be in hell!" Dina did made a fuss about it.

You rolled your eyes and continued writing in your notebook.

One thing I absolutely despise in drarry fics —and by this I mean a specific subset, not like in general cause there are many amazing fics— is the characterization of harry (and draco), the way he's an absolute fucking doormat!!!! I get it y'all are tryna portray him as a social dimwit, it can be done in a normal way without making him seem like a piece of cardboard! Are we talking about the same dude here?? You don't actually have to completely demolish a character, take away their key traits just to make the other half of the ship look better.

Let me give a pointwise description:

1. Dude stutters after every bloody sentence, like he's so overwhelmed talking to draco "smirking, smooth as butter, sardonic, sleek, godly" Malfoy who keeps insulting him every fucking second. Do you really think that harry would entertain that bullshit, especially in post-war fics!!! Like he'd just take it and not put him in his place?

2. I read this fic long ago and I don't remember the name, but good god it was unbearable. Basically the golden trio apologizes to draco for his tragic life that they were responsible for after the war? Like wtf? Why is there even a need to do that? 😭 That was too much and I stopped midway

3. Again, draco "3 OWLs" Malfoy, some supersmart / second coming of tom riddle, keeps patronizing every action of harry, the amount of times harry's intelligence is insulted? Immediate no from me, like are we still doing the whole "harry dumb mf potter is unobservant, slow, stupid, can't function without some rat hissing in his ear that he's an idiot 24/7"? Don't you think it's lame?

4. Harry has to always put up with his shitty attitude, I am all for character development, I know characters are multi dimensional and complex, and showing draco having a difficult personality is well and good, but it starts to get annoying when there's no real growth in him. I've read fics where he's absolutely despicable until the end which is covered up as him being a dickhead in general and harry "fondly" keeps up with his shit. *gag* canon harry would NEVER

5. I think it genuinely wouldn't make a difference if harry was there or not, I am not kidding or being dramatic, those fics might as well be character × y/n fics

All of this leads me to hate draco's character more! You portray him as this insufferable bastard who has a heart of gold apparently (where?) who has no real growth, shows no humility or regret or even pretends to and you think harry will put up with that?

It would be interesting if he starts out that way, works on himself and grows and changes, that would be more tolerable and interesting!

But no, he's always this annoying guy who hurls insults, keeps mocking harry or his friends every other line, you might argue it's in his character, but aren't those the traits which make him unlikeable? like those aren't cute or quirky? wouldn't it make more sense to show him grow out of it? It's really annoying

And harry, let's not go there, he's a completely new character, might as well be an oc atp, you can't even compare him to canon harry, that's how bad it is! I still haven't completely discussed it cause it's already getting long, but he's this wet bloody blanket and I can't stand it, the gryffs (except Hermione) in general are shown as some bumbling buffoons who can't differentiate between their hand and foot!! And the slytherins are all savvy, masterminds, geniuses... I really don't know whether it's admirable cause it's weird seeing them pushed into these moulds where they can only behave a certain way!

I'm so tired this is still going on like?? Why are their characters such caricatures? All of this sounds like it may have been a thing of past, but I am appalled it's still happening!!!

This is not directed at all drarry fics out there, cause there are some gorgeous fics written by amazing authors who fucking get these characters and make it about them, about their relationship and explore it in a depth and nail their characterizations without making either one of them boring. There are a good number of fics that I actually enjoy cause of the way they write drarry's characters, which makes or breaks the fic imho

8. Unpopular opinion about them

Draco is a lot more emotional and hot tempered than he gets credit for. A lot of times he gets characterized as this super unflappable cool, calm and collected stiff upper lip type and he's really not. This is the person who yelled "I'm dying, look at me! It's killed me!" when Buckbeak attacked him and who flushes when he's been embarrassed (especially by/in front of Harry) and who is often quick to anger and quick to lash out when he's been affronted or denied something.

Yes, he certainly grows and matures and during book 6 and 7 he is forced to shoulder real responsibilities and deal with true pain and true fear such as he has never known previously in his sheltered existence and he proves himself to be an extraordinarily powerful Occlumens - capable of concealing things from Snape and even from Voldemort himself) and also displays a growing ability to keep cool under pressure. But I think some of that hot temper and volatility and strength of feeling remain with him though he probably goes to increasing lengths to bottle it up and hide it all. Drarry is not a hot/cold ship. It's a hot/hot ship. They both are firey and fierce and prickly and prideful and feel SO much - they just have different ways of showing it.

16. Deepest darkest secret they won’t even admit to themselves

Draco absolutely refuses to admit to himself that he fancies Harry Potter or that he thinks the scar is rather fetching. Eventually he does have to come to terms with it, but not till postwar or perhaps MAYBE during book 7.

37. What they really think about themselves

I think this changes a lot over the course of the book. Draco goes from having a basically high opinion of himself (though with some insecurities related to fears he won't be able to live up to the expectations placed on him) to feeling increasing levels of shame and self loathing during book 6 and book 7.
