Series Review #1
Good Morning my loves. I’m here writing my first series review. This is my first time sharing my thoughts with any one but myself. I hope you indulge and enjoy today’s review. We are going to review the 2nd and 3rd book of the series. I didn’t read the prequel just yet.
The series we are talking about is The District Kids by Nicci Harris
Our Thing
Our Thing pt2
Her Way
His Pretty Little Burden
His Pretty Little Queen (09/30/22)
The order of books is above this text.
Now when i first dived into this series i was a little skeptical to say the least. My expectations weren’t high. I’ve been in a mafia series kick for months. This was the first series I’d thought I’d review for you all. I’ll definitely will review my previous series that I’ve read for sure but i can only do one series at a time.
Now let’s get to the good stuff. Starting with our thing. Cassidy is as innocent as innocent as they come. She is a professional ballerina. Our tall dark and handsome. He’s literally the epitome of bad news. They fall in love, and you’d think that it keeps going well but rarely they don’t. Max has a love for Cassidy like no other. He’s her safe place, and her knight in shining armor. There’s literally anything he won’t do for her. Max gets in trouble. They end up apart for three years. Cassidy is pregnant before he goes to prison. So putting all that together. Cassidy goes through childbirth without her other half and i couldn’t imagine how that felt. They have a beautiful baby girl named Kelly. She literally carried the rest of the book. He finally gets out, and comes home. My poor girl Cassidy has a panic attack because she thinks it’s not real! Boy oh boy was she wrong. Her man had returned and he couldn’t grateful to be back. This may seem long but this is my honest review. This book was a great read. The Passion between the two main characters was absolute awesomeness. If I could read it again for the first time i would. That’s how great these two books were!

▪ Grand Escape by Rachel Blaufeld review ▪
Thank you to @netgalley for allowing me to read and review this book! 💛

Review:
Grand Escape showed how difficult love can be, which I really liked as it brought a more realistic feel to the relationship between the two characters! The relationship between them felt a bit, and when I say a bit I mean TINY, rushed, but other than that they had a decent bond that was developed over the course of the book 🦋
I loved Rylan, one of the main characters, because her personality was different and I felt like Rachel Blaufeld presented her character really well. Her development was described in a great way toward the end, you as the reader could actually see how she had changed, (in a good way of course!).
As for Adam, I did like his character, he was sophisticated and had that usual charm that no reader can be immune to 😉 Both of them had great humour, which I adore in a book! It just adds that extra pizzazz to a story, and I, at times, laughed out loud while reading the book 😂
As for the plot itself, I did find it lacking toward the end 🙈 Nothing much happened, and I felt like some things were being repeated for no reason.
But, in the end, I enjoyed Grand Escape 😍 and will definitely keep a look out for other books by Rachel Blaufeld, (there was a segment of her next book in Grand Escape and I already want to read it!) 🤩
I would recommend this one to those who love a quick romance read set in a gorgeous paradise with unique characters that make you laugh out loud and make people look at you weirdly… because we all know that has happened before...
My rating: ⅗ ✨

rads-bookishblog replied to your post: okay gang, based on the fact that this will...
Hmmmmm this is a tough one. I think an obvious choice would be Nate because of the end of last season, but it could also be Ted considering this show is named after him... I think the last shot will be the main group tho (or at least most of the main group) because that's who we've been following the whole time
I do agree that Nate will undergo huge growth next season (since I expect him to be redeemed lol) but he was first-shot-last-shot LAST season so I can’t see them doing that again. I can’t imagine any other character having a more significant shift in character though - it’s not like Rupert’s suddenly going to undergo redemption, and surely none of the other main characters would go dark at the end point in the narrative.
Ted is the sensible choice as the main character (particularly for the gravitas of the final shot of the entire show) but I also can’t imagine him growing any more significantly in season 3 than he already has; I feel like season 3 will continue to focus on Ted as equally as previous seasons.
I do like the idea of a group shot! It would be nice if the growth throughout the season related to the whole team, though again I’m not sure that would be more growth than the team has collectively shown in previous seasons (especially season 1) but it would wrap up the show nicely.

5 Bookstagram Tips that I got throughout my first year on Bookstagram -
There’s a lot more bookish tips that I could share, but I decided to keep this one short and sweet! I hope you find these tips helpful, and I wish you well!
1 - Engage in the community!
This seems kind of obvious, but throughout my bookstagram journey I realized how important this is and how rewarding it is. Engaging in the community gets your account out there, into the community, and it brings engagement to your account. Not to mention, it’s also super satisfying to give back to other accounts! 🦋
Tip: you can engage in bookish hashtags - such as #newtobookstagram #newbookstagrammer #newbookstagram #bookishaesthetic etc!
2 - Be active on your story!
This seems simple, and utterly useless, but that’s far from the truth. A study shows that more people go through their stories than their actual feed, and I can prove this to be true because I do exactly that! Instagram stories show your personality a lot more, and it gives people a chance to get to know you. Staying active on your story is important, take it as your second hub of activity, with your feed being the main hub 🌻
Tip: When you post on your feed, make sure to post it on your story as well! This leads engagement to your feed, and makes your post easier to be seen.
3 - Always include a QOTD in your post
Comments are important sectors of your engagement, and it’s fun to have conversations between other people in the community. A QOTD (Question of the Day) is imperative to have in your caption. This attracts people to comment on your post, answering the question you have asked. It’s always best to have an interesting question rather than one that’s always being asked in the community 🤗
For example, one of the usual questions asked on a post is, ‘what’s your current read?’. While you can definitely still use that question, think of something out of the box, like this or that questions, or even a would you rather!
4 - Put emojis in your captions!
I know, I know, this sounds weird, but from personal experience, when I have to read a caption without emojis I get bored very fast. Think of emojis as decorations on your caption, and certain emojis give the readers an insight to your personality! But, don’t overdo the emoji usage, that’s just as bad as having no emojis present 📚
Tip - When you do write captions, make sure to add a few spaces between sentences/paragraphs! This makes it easier to read!
5 - In my opinion, follow trains suck
Ahh, controversial opinion? Indeed, but let me explain. Follow trains seem cool, and if not super rewarding. Follow trains are there to give you a lot of followers, that’s intriguing, of course it is! But let’s think about it, people who take part in follow trains already follow SO MANY accounts, how are they ever going to see or engage with your account? Exactly, never. All those followers that you get from the follow train are only there because they HAVE to follow you to get their own followers, not because they WANT to follow you. So basically, you’re not getting a ‘real’ follower.
Now, I don’t judge anyone who takes part in follow trains, you are free to do whatever you want, I personally just don’t see it as being rewarding. Instead, let your account grow naturally with followers that appreciate your posts and take time to like/interact with them!
I hope you liked this post, and that it's helpful! 💛

12 Days of Harry Potter Socks: Day One
12 Days of Harry Potter Socks: Day One
As the 12 Days of YA ends, the 12 Days of Harry Potter Socks begins. When I read there was going to be Harry Potter sock boxes, I knew I was going to find one! I searched and searched and was able to buy the LAST 12 days of Harry Potter Socks box from my local Target. There was also a similar box offered at Hot Topic and a few other online websites. The box I picked up was $15.99, not an awful…
