So, there's a lot I want to say about the paralypics, but every time I try I just... can't articulate what I want to say without it turning into a monster of a post that puts my writing advice posts to shame lol. This includes in response to the anonymous asks I got on the topic btw. So I'm going to try and summarise my thoughts here.
As someone who was working towards the Rio paralympics - who was basically one of the people they were actively training to be the next paralympians and who got to go if their choice first athletes had to drop out, the Olympics and paralympics are a... touchy subject for me. I loved playing. I loved my sport. I loved the people I played with. I loved the people I played against. But the way the public and people in power treats disabled athletes sucks. It Really really sucks. and it hurts to talk about.
The vast, vast majority of us aren't paid. We are expected to train at the same intensity as the Olympians with none of the breaks and none of the support to do so, resulting in injuries that are disabling in and of themselves, while juggling normal jobs. many of the paralympians are also in school or at university as well. both schools and jobs see these elite athletes as dedicated hobbiests at best.
I had a friend who were fired from their job because they were denied time off to compete at the paralypics and well, if i had to choose between the paralympics or stay at a shit job paying minimum wage, I know which one I'd pick, and so she didnt have a job when she came back. I have friends who are still in the closet because their sponsors would drop them if they came out as gay, who ended years-long relationships to keep the funding that allowed them and their teams to compete - funding that just covered the costs of travel by the way. They never saw a cent of it themselves, but it was the difference between us having to pay $50 each for our plane tickets and accommodation and having to pay $2,000Aud + for every away game. I have friends who were supposed to go to Tokeyo but were kicked off the teams weeks before the games because of a rule change that decided they weren't disabled enough anymore, wasting years of work with absolutely no warning. They weren't even given the decency of an appology from the people who made the call. Several went through terrifying mental health spirals over it. It was their life's work, gone. I saw so many friends just give up because their disabilities were "too hard to classify" into the International Paralympic Commity's boxes and who were made to feel they weren't welcome by the system spouting off about its diversity and inclusion and empowerment of disabled people.
And then with all that, the best we can hope for is for the social media teams to turn us into a joke for ableds to laugh at or into inspiration porn to make them feel good about themselves - because at least theyre not us. Because obviously, there are no other options in how to show us/sarcasm.
My phone doesn't even have "paralympics" as a recognised word. I have a Samsung. The company that is currently at the paralympics using them as a marketing opertunity. We aren't even recognised as a word in the phones made by the company that is currently using the paralympics as a marketing opportunity. The phones they're giving the athletes won't even recognise the name of the event that they got it at. If I've spelt it wrong, it's because it autocorrects it every time I try to spell it right, and im dyslexic and can't see the difference until I stare at it for a minute or so.
I just... this isn't even scratching the surface of my thoughts. But I wanted to say at least some of it. It will be the last I'm going to talk about it, at least until the event is over.

Hello, wonderful souls! 🤍🌍
I hope you're doing well. 🌿
Could you help me amplify my family's story and bring awareness to our struggle? 🙏🏻
💬 Please reblog my pinned post or consider donating just $5—your support could truly make a difference in saving lives amidst war and hardship.
Your kindness and voice matter more than you know. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! 🤍🌿
🕊️ @mosabsdr | Every share counts. 💫
Leave me the fuck alone you have been spamming this account and my art account COUNTLESS TIMES NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I BLOCK AND REPORT FOR SPAM
I also reported @mosabsdr for spam yes, i heard somewhere that account is scam despite the reblogs saying he is vetted, and this will be the last time i will be second guessing myself for getting angry whenever i get these notifications
I am turning off anonymous asks because of this
I'm also not responding to other "palestinians" that keep spamming me and begging me for money, anon or not
I don't care they say they're "vetted" or not, i have seen countless vetted accounts that kept spamming me
if anyone is able to donate money, do it in this gaza emergency site (wfp.org) this site is completely legit and it's better to spend your money there instead of these pathetic scammers that beg people in Tumblr
Edit: also check this out
Tumblr media
Anyways i'm also closing my DMs so only mutuals can message me, i disabled "mentions" as well so those guilt tripping fuckers can't spam mention me under their posts, only mutuals can
I can't trust any of the accounts in Tumblr plus the fact that i don't have money, my family is barely saving up money for food and internet at the ends of each month and I don't dare to open YouTube or Instagram to save up internet until the end of the months
not to mention one of the bots was being rude in my dms when i responded to their message with "I don't have money but i can reblog" and they sent two copy pasted messages begging me to donate at least a little
Here's proof from my dms btw if you don't believe me:

I hope @staff is hearing this

I hate how my inbox is looking right now.
You simply cannot use the “it’s his sixth season and he’s only now fighting for a championship.”
I literally said this on my last post. He didn’t have a winning car until NOW, dude, literally go watch how McLaren have been doing for the last 6 years, please go do it and you tell me if that’s his fault. As much as you want to bring up this debate, Lando, up until last year, was not only the youngest but also the one with less years of F1 experience in his pocket and his teammates STILL could not fight for a championship in that team, why? Because the car was absolute shit.
There is a reason I used the phrase “you can take the car out of the midfield but not the midfield out of the team.”
Now, if you are going out of your way to target Lando and his fans for anything we do you are really miserable. You hate him when he’s happy and you hate him when he’s frustrated. What do you want from him? I posted a little message just talking about how proud I am of him and your first thought is to leave hate? I never said he drove incredible yesterday, I was just talking about the achievements he’s got so far this season instead of talking shit about other teams or drivers and criticising what they are using their platform for.
The hate he gets is truly getting out of hand and the fact that he gets literal d3@th threads is NOT normal. The excuse “he won’t see it” if fucking useless and stupid because guess what, he does, and I can’t imagine how fucking scary it must be, and using an innocent post from a Lando fan to spread hateful words and terrible takes is so weird, get help because seeing these messages pop up in my inbox makes me feel fucking sick.
Anyway I turned off comments and disabled anonymous asks cause some of you lack so much wheel knowledge and human decency, it’s frustrating.
I have like 10 more of these btw, and like two of them at some point say “I’m a fan but-“ no no, please stop right there.

No sé si has vist la controvèrsia que hi ha hagut amb la editorial Ivréa aquest cap de detmana per twitter on sembla que han estat bloquejant a gent només per preguntar si anaven a traduir mangues en català.
https://twitter.com/samfaina_visual/status/1672900791982538755?cxt=HHwWhoC2qYWaq7cuAAAA
https://twitter.com/ryuzakyy7/status/1673009848319967235?cxt=HHwWhoC8rfrl3LcuAAAA
https://twitter.com/elmangazin/status/1673015937698594819?cxt=HHwWhoC84bPI37cuAAAA
🤦 No ho havia vist, no.
The social media managers of the publisher house Ivrea are angry that some Catalan people have asked them (with full respect) if they will ever publish some mangas translated to Catalan too (for context, this publisher has a headquarters in Barcelona but only publishes in Spanish). The comment that started it all was this one (in Spanish, so the publisher can understand without complaining):
Tumblr media
Translation: Hi @/Ivrea, my niece asked me if some day she'll be able to read #SpyXFamily in Catalan? She's starting to get into manga now thanks to Dr. Slump and Night Guardians and she would love to read it in her mother tongue.
The official Ivrea account blocked Samfaina_visual right after saying this, and tweeted saying these are bad faith comments and that it looks like this is a troll. Ivrea has blocked the other users who commented saying they would like it too or showed support in favour of Samfaina_visual.
There's a Catalan online magazine that talks about mangas called Mangazine, they were blocked by Ivrea too because they reported about this happening, even though they have many times reviewed Ivrea's mangas (which is a way of promoting them without getting paid btw, they're not even thankful for that). They sent a very respectful message to Ivrea asking why they and other Catalan people who post about mangas were blocked, and Ivrea answered a very angry text full of anti-Catalan stereotypes (for no reason, nobody had brought them up before) and pure hatred for the Catalan language, and ends by saying that they will sue for hate crimes against Spanish. For having asked if they will publish in Catalan.
(It's the 3rd link. It's quite long so I'm not translating the full thing but if someone wants to know and doesn't speak Spanish, let me know and I will translate it)
See what we have to deal with? The mere fact that we still exist is treated as a hate against them, just because we survived these centuries of persecution and illegalization, resisted and didn't give in and abandon our language and culture to substitute them for the Spanish ones that they keep telling us are so superior. Nothing against Spanish, we would just like to be able to live in our language, like they have the right to live in theirs. But apparently that's a hate crime. This is the treatment that marginalized languages get in Spain.
I hadn't seen this case before anonymous sent me this ask, but it did not suprise me at all, taking into account the amount of Catalanophobia there is. Very often there are cases like this, or where Catalan speakers are denied healthcare in public hospitals in Catalan-speaking territories because the staff are Catalanophobic: an example from last month, where a man was being served dirty food and denied water and mistreated by the hospital staff in Palma; or when a man called an ambulance and the person who answered the emergency number refused to call the ambulance until he repeated it all in Spanish and started giving him lessons on the phone saying why he must speak Spanish and that "you are not Catalan here" for some reason instead of calling the ambulance; or when a doctor refused to treat a patient for not speaking in Spanish, when this patient had a psychic disability and Catalan was the only language she spoke; or the many, many, many, many, many, many cases where doctors have refused to attend Catalan speakers because they spoke to them in Catalan. Or how people are kicked out of services like a hotel, a bank, a taxi, a petrol station (this one with an extra of anti-Catalan slurs), a press conference, or an airplane for speaking Catalan. Or the way that the Spanish police arrests or fines people just for speaking Catalan (again, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many times) and sues them because speaking Catalan to a policeman is considered disrespect of authority. Or the hoards of Catalanophobic insults that content creators who make stuff in Catalan get online, or the way that tragedies like airplane crashes and terrorist attacks are celebrated on Spanish social media because Catalan people died, or the way that Spanish nationalists (talking about individual citizens here, not just the police) have beaten people up for their ideology, even the Facebook group of Spanish people living in London called to "hunt independentists", among others. And this is without getting into what the Spanish media say or, even worse, the politicians, that reaches points like a mayor of PP (the Spanish conservative party) that publicly said "we must erradicate Catalan and its carriers" (I translate as "carrier" the term "agente portador" which is the wording used for someone who carries and spreads an illness).
All of these cases happened here in Catalan-speaking territories btw, it's not like we go somewhere else and expect to be attended in our language (unlike others ehem), it's in our own country that we're not allowed to use our language.
So, yeah.

Mh? Oh, hello
''A 23 years old slugcat that has gone through lots of experimentation, abuses, and lies from the same iterator that promised to find his family which it separated him from, 16 years before, it wasn't like this, he was peacefully living with his family, until a overseen guided him to regions far away from where he was, where the iterator was, it made a deal with him: he helped it to clean a pest that was in its can, and it would find his family, the lil Koza, of course accepted, and there was peace by now, until, 6 years after, He came back telling it that the pest was gone, so it decided to finally show him where and how his family was
They were dead by starvation
Now, this wouldnt have happened if SOMEONE hadnt locked their shelter, right? well Koza didnt know that, so he just tried to go back to the iterator to tell him trying to not cry, but the iterator....lets say it just decided to capture him
now, this was the past, lermme speak of the present, 10 years after he got captured, founded someone to love, then lost that person and luckily managed to escape...
Koza is just there trying to survive, his hands are...well, completely filled with dry blood, but covered in some sort of bandages, unfortunately the damage was already done, so the bandages didnt really do much, he cant really use spears well, but he has managed to learn how to use 'em even in his current condition, and at least he has his slippery feet that he got from one of the experiments, it looks like if he has soap on them, but guess what? its bubble fruit juice, and well, thats pretty much Koza's story, but when everything seemed lost....he founded Her, The child that he thought that was dead, but fortunately, she was alive.''
Ramy:

an actual post from them:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
ID:
Anonymous asked: Why don't you like cripplepunk?? /genq
OP: hooooo ok so im going to assume you dont follow us because we have spoken about this at least twenty times by now (mostly me because i used to call myself crippunk and then stopped after seeing that it was an even more toxic environment than the aro community is, which is an incredible feat, but that is a rant for another time)
heres a quick summary
cripplepunk, just like most other subgenres of punk, is a circlejerk-"fuck yall, im better"-brand of punk that 'physically disabled' gatekeepers latch onto, because i guess they have nothing better to be doing other than wasting everyones time. the concept was created with the idea that 'physically disabled people need their own resources' which, while a nice thought on the surface, comes at the expense of literally anyone they dont deem
'disabled enough' and they advocate for the separation of 'physical' and 'mental' disabilities. couple that with the fact that disability is not an easily defined state and it's easy to see why this doesn't work.
this isnt some flaw or mistake. crippunk was coined this way by design, and its creator admitted to that. its an inherently flawed way of thinking and only leads to more infighting. it was never meant to peacefully coexist with mentally or neurologically disabled people, it doesnt take into consideration someone who is disabled by their mental illness, and it inherently believes that if you arent in some physical external form of disability, you are not disabled enough or in this specific way. and despite what crippunks would like for you to believe, they do not advocate for you, do not care, and will only tell you to "make your own spaces" as if you dont belong in the conversation surrounding disability rights.
we do not believe there is any feasible nor functional difference in what disables you aside from what kinds of accommodations and treatment you need. we are all freaks under the eyes of capitalism. the brain is a part of the body, and if your brain is disabled, you are disabled. for that reason, we strongly oppose the concept of cripplepunk. we believe they will not get rights by whining about how theyre More Oppressed than people with mental/neurological disabilities.
if youd like more on why someone might dislike crippunk or not feel included by it, theres a few movements in the wake of it, such as our personal favorite unitypunk. and if you want better explanations from us: heres the unitypunk tag on our blog, scroll through it.
and INB4 they find this post and throw a temper tantrum like they do with everything else: yes, we are crippled. a quick scroll of this blog should tell you as much. Imao. lol, even.

Yes, I am thoroughly disturbed. Now, like op, I am not sharing their name so they don’t get harassed but if you would like the @ of this account to block, dm me and do not spread it around.
This person is not punk if they are shitting on punk subcultures, which have existed since punk was made, and using aro ppl as a talking point of what not to be. Not to mention the creator (who is dead btw) did not have any guidelines on what counts as disabled as long as you are physically disabled in some way, and actually allows for intersectionality, like most punk subcultures (and even punk as a whole) does.
Ok. So. For the first time I have encountered someone who has put “cripplepunk” (quotes included!!) in their bio. And I’m sitting here like.
Tumblr media
You are mad… that I want rights? Like… cripplepunk is literally just applying the punk mindset / social conventions to disability activism.
You do not like.. disability activism?
You don’t want cripples to talk to you???

What made you parkour to Undertale to Countryhumans to FNAF to Kaijus?
(Oh I probably should disable anonymous asks)
Well it was more like I jump from back to back? I still love Undertale and fnaf and I still do draw them, just not post them as often as I used to.
I'm still in ch, I like designing those flag heads and make short dumb comics. I have an Instagram account for it, it's Ztrippstang if you for some reason wanna know.
And Kaijus, idk really. I've always liked Godzilla and watching those old Toho movies whenever I have access to 'em. But I wasn't really "in" the fandom you could say?
I remember watching King Of Monsters on Netflix back in Jan and I thought to myself "what would they look like as humans?' seemingly out of nowhere but I didn't think anything else of it. Then I watch GVK with my parents on March that I was like "I wanna make my own au now" so that's it? XD
(side tangent about GVK: I still believe that Goji could kill Kong with ease if Mecha wasn't his main concern and if Kong didn't have that diet Kratos axe. Some parts of me thinks Goji was just toying w/Kong because it's so obvious who would be the victor. But it was cool seeing them beat the shit out of Mecha and see Kevin be so violently aggressive than he was in KOM. I still don't understand why the Native(she is suppose to be native right?) deaf girl needs to have super echolocation powers or somethin' but hey in a world infested with murder jaws I guess I'll let it slide a bit.
Anyway, can Mothra come back? I know she died but she can be rebirth and all, can best girl get her own movie? Oh and can we get Battra to make an appearance?)

Polls Masterpost (updated- 1/20/2023)
Basic Features
Only a small amount of people have polls right now. Most people do not have this feature yet because it is still being tested. Each poll allows up to 10 possible choices. While there is a character limit in the choices, there doesn't appear to be one in the actual question. Polls can have either a 1 day OR 1 week time limit. You can use emojis (though keep in mind some of these won't show up on desktop) and emoticons in the options, but you cannot insert pictures into the options. Only one poll is allowed per post. You can't add polls in reblogs. You can't put polls in asks but you can add polls when responding to asks.
Votes are anonymous. You cannot see who voted. You will not be notified of votes, and you won't be notified when the time limit of your poll is up and the final results are ready.
Drawbacks
If you make a poll you will have to vote on the poll yourself in order to see the voting data as the poll is still active. Once the poll is finished, you (and everyone else) will be able to see the final results.
You cannot edit a poll after you have posted it. At all. After posting a poll you cannot change it to disable reblogs, you cannot change your text, your tags, post date, NOTHING not even the root post's content label (though you can change the content label on a reblog of the post which may get the original label for it changed through Tumblr's content moderation system).
There are even some cases where the disabling of post editing seems to even be affecting REBLOGS of a poll, meaning that if you reblog a poll you may not be able to go back and edit your tags later. This seems to be a BUG that they are working on because I've seen the level of editability for reblogs change over the course of using the feature.
If you delete the original post that contained a poll, that poll will lose all of its data and become permanently broken.
Exploits
You CAN edit a poll into an older post. However, this will permanently disable editing of that post. Furthermore, if the post you are editing is older than one day or one week (depending on what time limit you set for the poll) than the poll will automatically register as "done" once you hit save. It will show up as a finished poll with zero votes.
You can use the fact that it bases the time limit on the original post to create more custom time limits. For example, if you made a post 3 days ago, you can edit a poll into it that has a time limit of one week. Once you hit save, your poll will show up as having a time limit of 4 days. You can theoretically get a post with a time limit of a few minutes using this method, but you'd have to time it correctly.
BTW- I checked, and you cannot exploit the fact that you can change a post's "post date" (yes that is a thing you can do, btw! Why? IDK!) in order to alter your time limit. It still knows when the post was ACTUALLY posted and will base itself off of that.
THE BIG ONE- SHARING POLLS VIA SUBMISSION- PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY BECAUSE THERE IS MISINFO GOING AROUND.
Let me make this very clear: you cannot give other people the polls making function. It does not spread like DMs did back in the day. It is not a virus. What you CAN do is give a single poll (at a time) to someone via the submit feature.
How to do it: If you have the polls feature, you can submit a post to someone that has a poll in it. That person can then edit the poll as they please (number of options, text, time limit, etc) before saving/posting it. Once they post the poll, it acts exactly the same as a regular poll (down to disabling post editing). If they want to make another poll, you will have to submit another poll to them.
Things to keep in mind: Unfortunately this is not a guaranteed way of giving someone a poll. I have gotten reports of people being unable to edit polls after receiving them (though I haven't had that problem myself). Now, sometimes when you go to post an edited, submitted poll, tumblr will kinda glitch and it will make it look like you lost the submission and that it didn't post. Check your blog to see if it posted or not, because that happened to me when I was testing this and it still posted just fine.
Bugs and Glitches
These are changing constantly and being worked on so I'll keep it brief. There is the aforementioned disabling of edits on reblogs (including other people's reblogs).
Mobile seems to have the most issues. If your app version is too old you won't be able to see or interact with polls at all. Polls sometimes have trouble loading on the dashboard. There are a few fixes: try scrolling all the way down past the poll, then scrolling back up. You can also try opening the reblog dialogue then closing it to see if that loads it in. Finally, you can try clicking on the original post to load it on the op's blog (this last one also appears to fix issues with recording votes).
Sometimes polls will just. Break for no reason. Sometimes even op will struggle to see the results on a poll even if they have voted. It seems as though staff are actively working on these last two, however.
Another bug that I've seen is that somewhere along the way in the reblog process, the options in a poll can get converted into a series of links that don't even direct you back to OP's blog. This has happened to TWO of my polls so far- both the most wide spread ones.

Do you know of any other fics like "Mind meld part delux"
Well, first, thank you for not insulting me or being anonymous. I've had some bad experiences with that.
Second, it depends on what you mean by "like" Mind Meld Part Deux. If you mean angsty rottmnt Donnie-focused fics, I know a few good ones:
I. Angelo by PrincessFreak (Definitely the closest to Mind Meld I can think of in terms of Donnie-betraying-his-brothers, but not for you if you don't like smut, tcest, and noncon).
2. A Scientific Blemish by CharmyWizard, eternalglitch, jadethestone, tiramisu_art (Donnie gets captured by the writers' version of 2018 Bishop and has to escape; writing and comic blend)
3. Sad Machine by dragondawdles (Donnie "dies" and deals with the fallout of having to transfer his consciousness of a robot)
4. Got Your Back by FoxGlade (Focuses on Donnie dealing with the whole "soft-shell" issue and how it amounts to a disability in his world)
5. The Kids Are (Almost) Alright by LynxCore (A hunted Draxum shows up at the Lair and Donnie has trouble forgiving him)
6. pathetic by cxlesstial (A mental-health fic dealing with self-harm and other serious issues; very good, but also full of trigger warnings)
7. superfight by persepoline (Donnie gets in a fight with Leo that has big repercussions for them both)
8. lockdown by guide_to_the_galaxy for hotmuffincrumbs (Donnie's mind basically starts to disintegrate; now with a sequel)
And this is less likely, but if you are asking about post mind-alteration fics in general (these are all TMNT 2012, btw):
1. the way back home by taizi (post Clash of the Mutanimals, Raph and Mikey)
2. Devil took your hand by moogsthewriter, taizi - (Foot Mikey AU)
3. And after the bombs subside by moogsthewriter (Clash of the Mutanimals AU, Raph and Mikey)
4. jade green eyes turned white by subtlyfailing (Clash of the Mutanimals AU where it took Raph a lot longer to get out from Shredder's control)
5. Desolation by goodstoryfan (Post-Season 2 inspired by City Fall with a brainwashed Leo, now a series)
6. The Devil In I by Kareh (Another post-season 2 AU with City Fall elelemtsn)
And those are the ones that come to mind most quickly.
If this isn't what you were asking about, please feel free to message me again!

Distant (Peter Parker X Reader)
PART 2 (You'll probably need to read the first part before this!)
Summary: You and Peter have been married for three years now. But when Peter starts becoming distant, you have no choice but to use anything at your disposal to bring him back.
Warning: Angst.
Peter knew what he did was wrong. And he did feel guilty. It's just that his ego wouldn't let him go back and apologize.
After their 'fight', Peter ran out of the house and started his car. He didn't know why he said all that. He knew you hated yelling. He knew you were hurt, but he doesn't know how to take back all that he said.
He drove out of his garage, and went to Ned's house. He would probably know what to do.
15 minutes later, he was in front of the tiny house. He got out and walked in, not even bothering to ring the bell.
"Peter?" Ned asked when he entered the kitchen. "I didn't know you'd drop in today."
"Yeah, I didn't either. Ned, what do you do after a fight with Betty?" Peter said, looking everywhere except Ned.
"You had a fight with (Y/N)?"
"Yeah, just... Tell me what I should do."
"Oh, uhm... I drink, a lot... Then I go back and apologize."
"I think I can arrange the drinking, but how do you apologize, without... apologizing?"
"Ego problems?" Ned asked smirking.
"Yeah."
"Peter, listen... I know it's a little late to tell this, but after you get married, you shove that ego down your pocket yeah? She's your wife, so you tell her everything. Everything. I mean, even if you don't, she'd probably find out, but you tell her, okay?"
"Yeah, okay," Peter replied. His advice was of no use, Peter knew he wouldn't do that.
"Happy Birthday by the way."
He didn't reply to that, and instead walked out. He drove back to his house, hoping he wouldn't have to confront (Y/N).
Peter opened the front door, and got in. He didn't see her in the living room, so she's probably sleeping on her bed, something she always did when she was sad.
Peter walked to her bedroom, but he didn't see her sleeping figure like he expected. He checked the kitchen and the bathroom, but she was nowhere to be found.
He knew something was wrong. His senses were going crazy now. So Peter called the only person he knew could help, Tony.
"What happened?" Tony hissed as soon as Peter set foot in the compound.
"Yeah. Ned called, and he said you and (Y/N) had a fight," Natasha stated.
"I don't know what happened! We had a fight, and I drove to Ned's to ask for advice. When I returned, she was nowhere to be found!" Peter exclaimed.
Tony groaned and started tapping a laptop. "I had installed a tracker in her suit, but I don't know if it works anymore because I think she disabled it after her training stage. It wouldn't be of use anyway if she didn't take the suit with her."
"Why are you so sure that she simply left?" Natasha asked while trying to reach (Y/N).
"They had a fight, of course she left," Tony replied.
Peter watched both of them racing to call the rest of the Avengers. (Y/N) is really dangerous. it's obvious she wouldn't hurt anyone, but she is still powerful.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Steve asked. Peter noticed that he's still wearing his training clothes, so he just returned from his morning jog.
"(Y/N) is missing. She and Peter had a fight, so I think she left for some alone time," Tony replied.
"If (Y/N) left for some alone time, why are we so worked up about it? She will return, right?" Sam asked.
"Yeah, but she didn't tell anything, and she still has her powers. Remember Mumbai? When she destroyed an entire city because she was too overwhelmed?" Natasha reminded, wiping the sweat of her eyebrow.
Natasha knew how (Y/N) felt. She went through the same things as her when she was young. She always felt as though she was (Y/N)'s foster mom, and this is probably worrying her as much as Peter.
------------(Time skip brought to you by Mr. Wade Wilson)-----------
Two weeks. That's how long it took for Peter to shove his ego down his pocket. Two weeks for him to realize how much (Y/N) meant to him. Two weeks for him to start becoming an alcoholic.
He shut everyone off, and drowned himself in bottles of whiskey and beer.
Natasha came occasionally to check in on him, and he always looked miserable.
One such day, Tony received a strange footage from an anonymous source. He opened it to find a couple of men standing around you. You were seated in a chair, wearing nothing except a black tank top and shorts. Your face was bloody and bruised, it looked like you were crying.
A man came behind you and spoke something in a language Tony didn't understand. But he didn't wait to listen to it entirely anyway. As soon as he saw you, he was rushing to show the rest of the Avengers.
"It's Russian," Natasha said looking at the clip. "They apparently want to know the identity of Spiderman. They found his suit in her apartment."
"We have to tell Peter about this, right?" Sam asked.
"No, I don't want him to know. If he does, then it'll break him. He'd blame it on himself. We'll save her... Somehow," Tony replied, wiping the sweat off his forehead.
A/N: I didn't originally want this to have a part 3... But look what happened now... Hopefully I can post that soon... I haven't proofread this btw...

I know this isn't the place for deep existential questions, but this has been hanging on my mind for so long.
To start, this happened pretty long ago, tumblr, and I only recently remembered it again after watching a youtube video, in which the person said "Trigger warning for amputees, and amputations." It was nothing graphic, and was just talking about some stuff, etc. And the trigger warning just was kinda weird to me.
And then it reminded me of that one time someone sent me an ask to please tag it when my post your amputee doll. To be clear, it's just a doll that happens to be an amputee. When I got the doll second hand, one of the limbs got crushed in transit, or maybe the postal service did something. So in the end I decided to mod the doll, and just roll with it.
And like, it kinda made me wonder, why would you ask someone to put a trigger warning for this? I was already tagging all my dolls, since I know people might want to block those out because I know BJD's can be creepy to some folks. This anon just wanted the doll tagged with a trigger warning for amputee, because they were grossed out, or creeped out by amputees, and amputations. None of the pics were ever graphic btw, and it was all slice of life type pictures.
To try and recreate the old ask they sent "Could you please tag your amputee doll with #TWAmputee/#TWAmputated, I think it looks a bit creepy, and gross, and would like to block the tag." Not accurate, but I do remember the comment about it being creepy, and gross.
Just the question that comes to me is, how is this acceptable? At what point does your "comfort" become more important than the humanity of someone with a disability? Why did this anon think that amputees are so gross, or unacceptable that I need to put a trigger warning on a picture that just happens to contain a depictions of a humanoid figure missing a limb? Just because they can't handle depictions of humans with atypical bodies.
And to make this a bit more clear as to why I'm so stuck on this thought. Imagine if this was a doll with a different complexion, or any other disability, and anon asked me to "Could you put trigger warning for (insert adjective) people?  I think they're creepy, and gross."
Imagine asking for trigger warnings for black, Asian, brown, White, Indigenous or whatever characters. What about blindness? Body shapes, and sizes? Genders? Sexualities? Imagine if it was asking "Can you put a trigger warning for bisexuality, because I think it's gross and creepy"??
I know I don't have to put trigger warnings, and I know some say it'd have been nice. But I just think it comes across as dehumanizing of the people in general, even if it was just my doll in this case. It doesn't stop that their reason for wanting me to trigger warn tag it, was because the doll was an amputee character, and they find amputees gross, not because it was a doll.

I respectfully disagree with your last post (as an author). I’ve been in this fandom for 6 years and noticed it’s a little bit toxic when it comes to certain issues that should be normal and obvious to anyone.
I don’t get the “I choose the people I want to take criticism from” part. Ok, so why posting your work on a public page for independent writers where every subscriber will be able to read it and comment on it? Just send it to the people whose opinion matters to you and have a discussion about your work with them. If you post your work on a public page made specifically for independent writers, you are automatically posting it for everyone on that site. And every person has opinions on things and feels invited to express it if that particular thing is public and comments are open (I’m talking about respectful opinions, not slurs and offending someone).
If it was only for you and the people you actually want to get feedback from then wouldn’t it be easier to create an “élite” group where you read your work and then discuss it together? Because your post sends a very negative and exclusionary message to people that are reading your work for the first time or without knowing you as an author. It really seems like you are saying “dear readers, your opinion doesn’t matter to me so unless it’s positive I don’t want to hear it because this fanfic was written for me and this list of people.” Then don’t post it. But why making people feel excluded or bad because they did something normal just because they didn’t know it wasn’t written “for them” as you said in your post. And constructive criticism is just an opinion too as long as it doesn’t contain vulgarities, you don’t have to listen to it. Other’s opinion shouldn’t change the way you feel about your work but you also shouldn’t make them feel uncomfortable and bad for expressing it in a respectful way on a public page.
I know that authors on AO3 aren’t paid and that’s just for fun, but that’s what every page like AO3 is about: putting your work out there for other people to read with the possibility to express their personal opinion in a respectful way (I mean, you CAN disable the comments). Why making it public and then complaining and making other people feel bad for expressing their opinion on it? It’s not a diary or a personal Instagram profile.
So, first off, thank you for saying you respectfully disagree with me. I appreciate that you’re trying to be polite.
There are many different ways I can answer this ask, because there’s a lot to discuss here, however, I’m exhausted by this conversation and have tackled it many times before, so I’ll link things when I see fit and get straight to the point.
My question for you is this: What is the purpose of you posting negative  (even though well-worded, polite, and tactful) unsolicited comments on a person’s fanfic? Why do you do it?
That’s not a rhetorical question, I really want you to think about the answer, because, for something to be called “constructive criticism” (which is specifically what we’re discussing here, versus the opposite “destructive” criticism) there has to be a point beyond just the fact that “it’s a public forum” and therefore, you feel entitled to express your opinion, whatever it may be. (That reasoning, btw, is called entitlement. No one said you weren’t allowed to have an opinion, but if you’re saying it to the author with no constructive, bettering purpose behind it, then at worst, your intent is to hurt them, which is just mean, no matter how politely you word it, and at best, you’re saying your opinions and preference take precedent over the author’s own.)
There are three reasons that I assume one can have when posting constructive criticism on work/art:
1. You want to help make them be a better writer, both now and in the future.
I, and other fellow authors, explain why this doesn’t work here and here, and there are more posts about it like this one, if you need to hear it from voices that are not from the Larry fandom (which I assume you do, since you said this is a little bit toxic here particularly.)
I encourage you to read all those posts, to get a better explanation in context, but the gist of them is this: for something to be truly constructive (synonym: helpful), the source, the timing, and the tact is key. Let me demonstrate: There is a difference between telling a friend while shopping, “I wouldn’t buy that dress, it’s not the most flattering on you,” and saying, while you’re out at a club, “Oh, that dress isn’t the most flattering on you, I wouldn’t wear it again.” -- Both are honest, worded politely, and both will achieve the same outcome: she will not wear the dress again -- but only one of them will cause undue stress, embarrassment, and self-consciousness (under the guise of being helpful), and that is all due to tact and timing. At the store, she can change into something else, and won’t assume you think she looks awful the entire day while you’re out. At the club, the damage is done, there is nothing she can do to change it, and you’ve just ruined her night.
The same goes for writing. I have seen people gracefully and willingly rewrite their entire first drafts based on astute and even harsh comments on their work, by their betas. I have never seen someone take down a fic and edit it based on a piece of constructive criticism given by a stranger on AO3. What I have seen based on that scenario, is people taking that criticism to heart and reflecting on whether or not they ever want to write again, because when they made themselves vulnerable, some people looked at it as an opportunity to ask for what would cater best to their own tastes, instead of appreciating the work as a true product of the author’s personal feelings and experiences. That results in less writers for the fandom, less content, and a whole lot of undue discouragement which is not something we want (nor is it actually constructive).
2. You want to engage the author in a deeper discussion of their work.
This is in direct answer to this part of your ask:
It really seems like you are saying “dear readers, your opinion doesn’t matter to me so unless it’s positive I don’t want to hear it because this fanfic was written for me and this list of people.”
You feel passionate (both positively and negatively) about my work? That’s lovely. I say, start a discussion with me. Ask me questions. Learn why I made those decisions. A discussion starts with an invitation to have a conversation (two ways, you say something, I say something, rinse repeat). It doesn’t start with “I didn’t like” or “This could have been better if”, and it certainly doesn’t start in a public forum, like the comments on AO3, where the writer runs the risk of looking like a defensive asshole.
But India, you say, what if I don’t have the means to have a private conversation/the writer doesn’t have tumblr/they’ve long since been inactive in the fandom? The answers are, respectively: leave a polite comment asking if they’re willing to discuss, if they are willing to discuss, leave a polite comment asking how to contact them, and if they’re no longer active, find other friends with which to discuss your feelings in private.
But India, that seems like so much work. It is, flat out. But if you really felt that strongly about something I wrote, you would make that effort to understand it. Otherwise, why not just walk away?
3. You don’t know better.
I found this part of your ask extremely interesting:
“But why making people feel excluded or bad because they did something normal just because they didn’t know it wasn’t written “for them” as you said in your post.”
The reason I found it interesting is because it means that there are people who assume that all work that is public was made for them, to suit their tastes, which is, frankly, a bizarre way to consume art. I do not go into The Louvre, look at the Mona Lisa and say “I don’t see the hype, it’s not something I would hang in my living room.” I look at it and think “What does this piece say about Da Vinci and his life? What has this brought to the world? How has this helped people/art/culture?”
(No, I am in no way comparing my talents to Da Vinci, I am not delusional. But, I don’t think my work deserves any less thought than that of a professional artist, simply because I’m an amateur and it’s on the internet and not in a gallery, and you have the superpower of anonymity.) You asked me what the point was in posting my work publicly if I didn’t want to hear every single person’s personal (negative) take on it, and the answer is this: I post what I write publicly, because I hope it helps someone. I hope my thoughts, feelings, experiences, loneliness validate someone, entertain them, help them through a tough time, bring them comfort. I post because I want to invite people to lose themselves alongside me, heal alongside me, dream alongside me.
(Notice how I said “someone” and not “everyone”. How I said“someone” and not “an élite group that discusses my work”, because yes, I do hope that my work positively impacts someone outside of my betas, my friend group. Does that mean someone can leave negative comments on my work? Yes. But should they? That’s a different question.)
I know my work won’t be a positive experience for every single person, but my goal was never to be relevant to every single person. So, my question is, if I’m not relevant to you personally -- if my work doesn’t touch you personally, heal you personally, entertain you personally, why not just walk away and find something that does? Who does your negative opinion really help? How is it constructive? What is its purpose? Why do you do it?
I will apologize for this, though: I spoke on behalf of all writers, and maybe I shouldn’t have. Maybe I should have been clear that though many writers feel this way, not all do. There are some, such as, I assume, yourself, who do view negative comments on AO3 as constructive, whether or not they are solicited, and I’m sorry to have spoken on behalf of you. However, I do still stand by this, though: it is much better to be kind than be right, and that definitely goes for comments on fic.

[Edit: I didnt see that the original post was from over a year go originally but I'm keeping this up to have a record of these ideas to remind me to bring it up at my school & to spread ideas to other students to give ideas to their GSA, thanks if you and up reading this long post]
Idk how applicable these are but I feel these ideas gave potential regardless.
My school has a GSA & I hope to try to spread this ideas to them as well but some things I feel could help are (in no particular order):
Idea 1
having some sort of organized way for queer upperclassmen to give advice to younger queer students (or just generally a way to spread around advice cause I'm an upperclassman at my school & still need some of that advice myself lol)
Idk how the questions & answers would be conveyed but I think maybe a system of some sort of form? Or maybe a physical submission box? Some sort of way to ask questions & either give an online response or maybe have someone read out the questions in the box then have a group help answer the questions collectively.
maybe have some sort of online form to (anonymously?) ask questions & to give answers. It could have some issues if there is anonymity with having homophobes try to ask/answer in the space (at least at my school) but I feel anonymously asking would help w/ closeted students feeling more comfortable in the space & not excluding them from conversations.
The advice given could be about things like loving yourself, dealing w/ bullying, taking care of your body, etc.
I feel it would help w/ building community by giving genuine advice & being able to receive help you may have not been able to find otherwise.
Idea 2
last year my school had a day of silence where queer students & allies would take a vow of silence to show the affect of bullying on queer students symbolizing how they're/we're often silenced.
Leading up to it we were educated on its meaning & origin & at the beginning of the day there was a table near the main entrance where you were able to take a paper slip, pin it to their shirt (or just some sort of clothing) the slip essentially saying "I am participating in day of silence. I am not going to be speaking today" then during the last period everyone participating was called outside via the loud speakers to listen to a speech then break the silence with a long loud scream. (Then we took a big group picture to celebrate before returning back to class to end the day) <btw be careful w/ the screaming bit cause my vocal chords were a bit fried from no speech for hours then screaming> (2024 I believe day of silence is celebrated nationally April 12th but you can coordinate it for anytime if theres some sort of conflict in district scheduling etc.
Idea 3
Bringing attention to discrimination that pops up within the community, transphobia, nonbinary exclusionists, mspec exclusionists, aphobes, etc, & other exclusionary sects of the community (transmedicalism is the only thing coming to mind at the moment). Bringing attention to intersectionality of nurodiversity, disability, being POC while being queer.
Idea 4
educating on less known identities, not even nessisarily things like definitions on very obscure terms more so just opening the idea that you dont need to conform to 1 binary or another but that you can identify as some insert obscure label & not be "mocking the community" but just expressing yourself authenticity.
Hope this helps :], sorry if these arent applicable. Sorry if theres any grammatical/clarity errors (its 3am when I origonaly wrote this lol I tried editing after I got some sleep). No matter how good these are I hope someone can use these as a root for more things to do in your GSA :]
Hello tumblr, I’d love it if y’all could actually like spread this around and/or give some ideas. My GSA (gender and sexuality alliance) has the chance of receiving a large grant, it inorder to apply we need to talk bout what we would spend the money on. While we have some ideas like, staff education, gender affirming clothing exchange, and an all inclusive school/area dance, we feel we don’t have enough ideas to make the most of the grant and so I wanted to see what you guys think would be a cool project/activity for a GSA or similar lgbtq+ group to do within a school/community. Like, what would you like to see your GSA (if you have one) do?
I really appreciate any and all ideas y’all have! And if you take the time to answer this, thank you!!!!

Hi! I'm currently writhing a book about people with superpowers and there's one character that is blind. Since I'm not visually impaired, I'm reading a lot about how to avoid cliche and write a good, realistic blind character. I read your text about blind people in books and it helped me a lot, but Im still thinking of what superpower I should give my blind character. I was thinking of super hearing, but now Im thinking is not a good idea anymore. Can you give me some advice? Thanks in advance!
Anonymous’ next ask said, [Hi, I just sent a question for you a couple of minutes ago (I'm the one writing a story about people with superpowers and stuff). I read some more of what you posted and I'm almost certain I'll change my blind characters superpower, but I'd still like your opinion on it. I'm sorry if my english is kinda bad (it's not my first language) and also if I said something offensive somehow. I'm very eager to learn and make a very cool and realist character! Thanks btw, your posts are helping me a lot!]
First, your English is lovely and the fact that it’s your second language makes you awesome in my book. Nobody needs to worry about how good their English is on this blog. If I don’t fully understand something I will ask for clarification, but that’s a situation I find myself in with native English speakers and asking them to clarify.
Also, nothing you have said offended me, no worries.
I took a while to get to this because I wasn’t sure what insight I could give.
There are a lot of superpowers out there in the fictional world that have nothing to do with sight, whether it improves or worsens it. Reading minds wouldn’t be much different from eavesdropping on conversations nearby, so long as what they’re experiencing is the audio of thoughts and not the visual.
(Although that means that some people would be harder to read because they think in images and abstract concepts with little internal dialogue. Some think only in dialogue. Some with a mix, like myself. Which means the superpower isn’t all-powerful, which is better actually, because all-powerful is boring)
Being able to stop time or teleport to familiar places (without any visuals they don’t naturally have with their normal vision, since lots of blind people have some vision) could work. Feeling emotions. Controlling the weather. Charming animals.
I think it’s worth looking at the Mary Sue principle:
Does this power make the blind character over-powered for what they’re working against in the plot?
Does the superpower make everything for the character more convenient, or does it come with as many downsides as it does upsides?
Does the character take time to learn it like you do any other skill, such as learning to use a cane or read Braille?
Does the character still need everything a non-superpowered blind person would need to function? (cane, guide dog, Braille, magnifiers, screen-reader, special light settings in their living environment)
Was the superpower made to explain away a plothole that could be fixed with some clever writing or plot reworking instead?
Mary Sue’s are something that’s been written and theorized and debated to death, and they are very different from a disabled original character or a fanfiction AU disabled character, but it’s easy to fall into the flaws of Mary Sue writing and make them too perfect or too capable.
This is just my personal theory, and I’m basing it off the way I see fandoms react to diverse characters, but there seems to be a pattern in which writers make their disabled character too perfect and too capable as a way of justifying their character decisions to a reader before the reader has even read it.
To which I say, disabled characters don’t need a reason to exist any more than abled characters need a reason to exist. Do you want to write this character and do they have a place in your story? Great, do it.
(It makes more sense to have disabled characters in a book than it does an android or dragon or demigod if you ask me. They exist everywhere, whereas dragons and androids and demigods only exist in specific fictional universes... that’s me running on a tangent)
Anyway, thank you for the ask anon. Every time someone sends me an ask on the subject and I sit down to answer I learn more about the subject in question. Arguing for or against a decision, or trying to work around a hypothetical problem, gives me the chance to reevaluate all the complexities of the issue and learn more rather than having an off-the-bat response to everyone.
That’s why every ask I get (even if it’s almost always the same situation) gets a unique response because by then I’ve learned something new about blindness that I didn’t have for the last ask, or I will rewrite my argument and almost always I inadvertently find a reason that contradicts my opinion and holds things in a new light and I love that.
There are millions of ways to be blind (fact: no blind person sees exactly the same as another, it’s all unique) and there are millions of ways to write blind characters.
