like, I mean, obviously House of Leaves has a very comprehensible premise on the surface, that being Oh Shit This House Sure Is Fucked Up, Bro

I get that, but as a person who has repeatedly failed high school English classes because my literary comprehension is about 15 years behind everyone else's, I am very aware of my limitations and I can tell I missed a fucking lot about The Fucked Up Ness of This House (And That Johnny Bloke Besides)

#i just do not be gettin shit. not without intensive study and extensive experience #my film comprehension is the way that it is now ONLY because i watch like 200+ movies a year (closer to 300+ now)#i watch movies now that i first watched back in the mid-2010s and i'm like ''oh i did NOT understand this the first time around huh''#but i do now! progress <3 #the thing is -- i do NOT read books with nearly that level of voraciousness or regularity #and i have a sneaking suspicion the Weirdness Of The House That Is Of Leaves is less about actual weirdness (which i grok)#and more about like. idk. some human condition type shit (which i grok less)#so. we'll see if i get any clearer on it next time around

Trans Leo pride is something I see a lot, but personally, FH Leo wouldn't celebrate his gender. He grew up around Gali, who went through a lot of gender struggles, especially in his younger years, and with the brothers being so accepting, it's just another part of his life

But his lack of romantic attraction? That's something that stands out to him. He sees the brothers with their own attractions and crushes and such and realizes he stands out. He's different. But that's okay because he's still him and he's still valid
