listen; i am all for you not like a ship, or a character, or preferring a canon characterization. but i am not all for being hate into this word for someone who does like this ship or character. now, i’m not a fan of snape, but i don’t care if you are. i may ask why and give counterpoints, but if you don’t want that feel free to tell me. i. dont. care. people connect to different characters because we’re human. maybe you connect to snape because you said something you regretted to a friend and now you’ve lost them, i don’t know. but i will never dislike you or hate on you because you like him. i may not agree, but that’s not your problem. if you don’t like james, i expect you to hold the same regards for me. you don’t have to like james, but i do. i won’t judge you for disliking james. if you don’t like jegulus, that’s fine, you don’t need to. it’s not for everyone, but it is NOT okay to call it a stupid ship, or the people who ship it stupid. it is not okay to take something that people connect with and try to destroy it just because you don’t like it. i will not tolerate that near me, and you will be blocked. if you don’t like something, THAT IS OKAY!! you don’t have to like everything. maybe remadora felt weird to you! me too! but if people love remadora and feel like they connect with that ship, why on earth would i try and argue agaisnt it? or maybe you connect with sirius black, and i come over and be like ‘well in canon he’s actually very manly and tall and he didn’t really care about leaving his family and-‘ that’s not very kind, is it? Let People Live.

[image id: a four-page comic. it is titled "immortality” after the poem by clare harner (more popularly known as “do not stand at my grave and weep”). the first page shows paleontologists digging up fossils at a dig. it reads, “do not stand at my grave and weep. i am not there. i do not sleep.” page two features several prehistoric creatures living in the wild. not featured but notable, each have modern descendants: horses, cetaceans, horsetail plants, and crocodilians. it reads, “i am a thousand winds that blow. i am the diamond glints on snow. i am the sunlight on ripened grain. i am the gentle autumn rain.” the third page shows archaeopteryx in the treetops and the skies, then a modern museum-goer reading the placard on a fossil display. it reads, “when you awaken in the morning’s hush, i am the swift uplifting rush, of quiet birds in circled flight. i am the soft stars that shine at night. do not stand at my grave and cry.” the fourth page shows a chicken in a field. it reads, “i am not there. i did not die” / end id]
a comic i made in about 15 hours for my school’s comic anthology. the theme was “evolution”

I think this is one of my favorite lines from the Wraith route because of (imo) how much the meaning changes depending on if you got there via Spectre or Nightmare.
For Spectre, it honestly strikes me as a genuine question. Why are you doing this to her? If you're on the Spectre route, you presumably already know the Narrator can't really be trusted, since you had to reject his reward to get here. What are you hoping to gain from continuing to hurt her?
For Nightmare, it honestly just makes me sad. As the Shifting Mound describes her, "She desires only companionship, but the only thing she knows is how to hurt." This line feels like a plea from someone who genuinely doesn't understand why you keep rejecting her. She wants to be with you, but she just can't understand how to do that in a way which doesn't hurt you.

the thing about all of the falling birth rate hysteria is that like … did we not expect that one day the population would level off? or were we expecting it to grow infinitely forever? everything in nature has a limit, including populations. we may just be reaching our natural limit. there’s no utility in fighting that imo. we just need to restructure our societies to deal with that
is it capitalism that has so rotted people’s brains into thinking infinite growth is the norm? honestly it feels like a very male thing to think. and very white+western to earnestly believe that you can engineer as if nature is a resource to be exploited instead of understanding that you need to engineer a more harmonious relationship with nature. look at the current trend with biohackers trying to extend their lifespan. feels the same. they will soon run into the human limits and mother nature will laugh. human life is a limited resource and that’s okay. accepting that is the first step to figuring out how to make the most of it

something about mikage leaving ohtori through "graduating" vs utena leaving through being "expelled". something about akio letting mikage go because he's fulfilled his purpose vs utena being thrown out because she refused to fulfill hers. something about being rewarded for participating "correctly" in the system vs being punished for refusing to. but how ultimately your fate is the same either way.

what i need is for daniel to realize at different points that his past/present/future relationship with armand is EXACTLY like the parts of louis' and lestat's relationship he mocked the most. ie "is THIS the fucked up gothic romance?" "are WE the whiny existential queens?" he doesn't have to do this out loud but i want his relationship with armand to be so disgusting and hot and terrible that he reaches brief moments of clarity. and i'll be able to tell he's thinking it just based on the look in his eyes

I dunno man. Maybe canon will prove me wrong, but I don't think the name Kiriona was forced on Gideon. Gideon, who has wanted her whole life to feel like she's wanted by someone and belongs somewhere. If her newly-found father took her aside and said "In the language of my grandparents, our ancestors, your name is pronounced Kiriona. I would like to call you that, to save on confusion." I just... I think she'd be cool with saying yes.
She doesn't really identify with it, and she has highly ambivalent feelings about the father in question, but the name Kiriona connects her with grandparents. It might have been what her great-grandmother would have called her, if things had ever been simple and kind enough that they could have met. Kiriona offers her a place to belong in connection with the generations before her. As much as it's not enough, not on its own and as isolated from those generations and that culture as she is, its also not nothing. And I can't believe it's less than nothing.

Man I honestly kinda miss the cage lockers we used to have in elementary school
this kinda stuff
yes they looked scary (especially ours which were dark blue-green and in a shaded hallway with small windows) but that was part of the charm. it felt badass. especially when we'd try to climb on them when the teachers weren't around

one thing i really appreciate about jinshi's character is how he has NEVER once actually had any intention of succeeding the throne. every time the idea is brought up he immediately detests it. so hes giving maomao as much as he possibly can, even though maomao has many qualms about it due to their difference in social status, but jinshi DOESNT CARE because hes NEVER cared about or wanted the status of crown prince! its been nothing but a burden to him! from his perspective the ONLY thing keeping the two of them apart are outside influences. he has no doubt within himself-- hes horribly down bad, in fact. but unfortunately his stupid JOB is getting in the way of him skipping off into the sunset with his favourite little cat
