ngl one of the most useful things i’ve internalized from doing art online is never tell people what to criticize. don’t preemptively apologize for things or point out where you think you fumbled, it’s just priming people to notice minor issues that might not actually matter and hit you where you’re sensitive and throw you off your game. don’t tell people your weak points. if it’s a genuine problem they’ll point it out

So, I’m awkward with actual humans. It’s not paranoia about my hacked governor module, and it’s not them; it’s me. I know I’m a horrifying murderbot, and they know it, and it makes both of us nervous, which makes me even more nervous. I know people love saying 'Bruce is a girldad' and I totally get it, we want to show how much he loves Cass and that she's his daughter. But Bruce's initial love for Cass was largely predicated on how not girly she was. He openly dislikes her girlhood throughout Batgirl 2000 (including but not limited to: dismissing her civilian identity, berating her for any romantic attempts, weakening her friendship with Stephanie, undermining her relationship to Babs, etc. etc.). Cass' femininity interferes with his ability to project onto her, so a lot of the time he just dismisses it. Is it really a coincidence that Bruce's only adopted daughter is one who wasn't raised as a girl?

pandora rosier is not gentle and sweet and delicate. she may look like a beautiful victorian doll, but in reality she is like one of those sets of matryoshka dolls, where you open one up to see another inside. the outside doll may resemble a fragile looking, doe-eyed beauty, but the one inside is a Terrible Person. she is selfish and vicious and only acts for the sake of herself. she is not airy and dreamy and kind (she is not luna!!!), and she is capable of unimaginable cruelty towards those who wrong her. she is the definition of morally grey: she is not outwardly evil, she does actively seek to destroy the world, but she would not risk a thing to save it either. she is ruled by a sick sense of self-preservation, and she makes decisions based off of what is best for her or for those she loves. she is perhaps less sadistic than her brother, and finds less enjoyment in the torture and killing of animals in the back of their family garden, but she does find it fascinating. she observes evan when he experiments, and she will always be the one to clean up after him, carefully wipe the blood off his face, hide the evidence, bury the corpses. she holds no reservations against the atrocious acts he commits, both towards those animals but also later in life as a death eater, and if she wasn’t so concerned with protecting herself, perhaps she would have joined up. she certainly never cared either way if he was murdering innocents or not. she is beautiful on the outside, both of the twins are, but both of them are also rotten on the inside.

Like what if Sky, who even managed to roast Impa, has just nearly killed Demise and this goes down:

Sky, laughing now: I mean what kind of God is outdone by his weapon and a student ami'right

Sky: Did you know that to fight you while imprisoned I popped your toes one by one through your pathetic little shockwaves you sent? Did you know that you were so weak that they popped like balloons?

Sky, cracking up: Did you know that your most helpful move when I was fighting you was to slither up the hill like an undignified walnut after I popped all your toes and you couldn't waddle anymore?

Things you might not realize are affecting your ao3 readership:

Putting unrelated fics into one compilation instead of series or collections

Not tagging your fics/“haha I’m so bad at tagging!”

Tagging all of the ships in a fandom instead of the relevant ones to the story

“This is my first fic ever”/ “I’m really not a good writer” / “sorry if this is crap”

Summaries that say “sorry don’t think I will update much” or “might be abandoned idk”

Tagging “r@pe” or “unaliving” etc instead of the actual tag so people can filter/exclude

NOT tagging major, relevant tags or kinks without using the “creator chose not to use archive warnings” option

Telling people how bad your writing is and how you hate it so much and how they shouldn’t even be reading your fic (self deprecation)

Weird punctuation: not starting new quotes or descriptions on a new line, and/or putting extremely long blocks of text on the page without a break

Combining the boys’ abilities (and I mean actual combining not just using them at the same time) because I was thinking about it and wow they’re kinda cracked actually-

Raph & Mikey: infinite clones (aka unbeatable) + strength completely unparalleled + infinite cloned chains + the clones are very fast and can fly + potentially reverse any damage on main shield clones or even damage in general

Mikey & Donnie: constructs that also can last much longer than usual possibly forever + potential future vision + every single cable or wire or anything of that sort has the potential to be taken over akin to Mikey’s chains + full telekinesis

Donnie & Leo: pinpoint portal/teleportation themselves or constructs just by knowing where to aim (aka instadeath for any enemy if used right) + telepathy

Leo & Raph: teleporting clones who can grow or shrink at will (which can also be instadeath like above if used right) + said clones can also act as homing spots to switch places with + potentially swap damage taken to clones

Raph & Donnie: they literally can make Voltron, but more than one + basically impossible to destroy shields + constructs can also be cloned

Mikey & Leo: freezing time and being able to move during it + heat death of the universe + “oops hey it’s other alternate iterations of us???” + this is a time and space team up you’re not winning this-

Basically any combo is an instant “you win.” I wanna go further into these combos later and maybe even add or subtract as I think more on it because there’s so many I left out and I can always extrapolate on and explain these ones more, but this was fun and these boys have terrifying powers even without combining them all together.

Seriously, should each of them train these abilities to the best they can be, there is no beating them even if they’re alone.

Cyberweek 2024 Day Five: Crossover

Pfft, I've been on an AvA kick recently, so I guess it's not too surprising that I chose this. On one hand, this crossover works well in theory. The stick figures are all fast, kinetic learners and really good at demonstrating their earned skills and knowledge.

On the other hand, the sheer tonal dissonance is hilarious.
