Your spidersteph post makes me wonder which bats should get which Marvel roles; Bruce as Iron Man is just the obvious choice (I mean; genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist, and just. bottom) but I’m not sure about everyone else, I kinda want Duke as either Captain Marvel or Nova, mostly because idk how their powers work, but they are shiny and they have flashy costumes.

See this is difficult bc marvel and dc characters are just built different so it's hard to say which dc character would go into a marvel role bc none of them fit it's like trying to fit a circle into a square like even with spidersteph it was more like steph just felt right to have spidy powers nothing about her actually fits the spider story it's more vibe and what feels right if these two characters were combinded together so with that in mind

Bruce definitely wouldn't be iron man they have cosmetic similarities sure but that is it - controversial opinion but I think Bruce would better fit with doctors doom

Hero-fy Killer Croc.

He's already sitting solidly at the anti-villain/anti-hero mark these days, and a couple of times in independent continuities where they aren't at risk of another writer deciding they need a big scaley jobber or yet another Hannibal Lector pastiche, they've gone all the way with it. You should read Batman: Earth One, by Geoff Johns and Gary Frank, where Croc is an early ally of Batman and a founding member of the Outsiders.

It's emblematic of the situation where honestly, the majority of Batman's rogues would make good superheroes if they chose to go that route, because part of what sticking around as a memorable Batman rogue has come to entail is that you mirror him in some way, act as a foil. Nobody's tripping over themselves to write redemption arcs for everyone in Superman's rogue's gallery, or Wonder Woman's, or Green Lanterns, but most of the memorable Bat-villains lend themselves to that approach.

Dew's Tattoos

My headcanon about Dewdrop and his tattoos! Warning for mention of needles, extremely unsanitary tattoo practice, and some elemental transition related body horror.

Dew has a bunch of stick-and-poke tattoos. He started doing them when he was still a water ghoul, using the end of a broken guitar string and a pen he’d chewed open. They were tiny at first- little stars, frowny faces with x-ed out eyes, and a Satanic cross, all on his upper thighs. They all faded in months, so Dew just tattooed new designs over them. His tools got a little better, he was using a sewing pin sterilized with a lighter and some calligraphy ink he’d stolen from the library. He slowly started to get better, his lines got steadier, and he even started sketching up designs rather than freehanding them.

Then his elemental transition happened. The process was excruciating- his body had to remake itself from the ground up. His fins necrotized and fell off and his coral-like horns grew brittle and crumbled away. His gills stung and itched as they sealed shut. He wanted this, had always felt off regarding his element of water, but he almost thought it wasn’t worth it. He kept telling himself it would be over soon but it just kept going.

It took six months for the transformation to be complete. When Dew was finally able to look in the mirror, he saw himself. It was freeing. The only thing he missed from his old body was the tattoos. Somewhere through the process of growing new flesh, the ink had disappeared. He mourned them- they were symbols of his growth and something that made his body uniquely his.

Dew started tattooing himself again, this time with slightly better tools. He used some sterile needles he’d swiped from the infirmary and managed to get his hands on some real tattoo ink. His designs started on his thighs, but moved to his arms, stomach, hips, and lower down his legs. His packmates watched him grow more comfortable in his new form as ink spread across his body.

However, Aether was horrified when Dew described his process the first time. He then gave him an hour-long lecture on sterilization and infections. Dew pointed out that it was very unlikely for ghouls to get wound infections while Topside but Aether insisted that Dew take the proper precautions when tattooing himself in the future, including doing it in the infirmary where it was cleaner. Dew agreed and ordered some proper equipment.

After a while, Aether let Dew tattoo something onto him- his favorite constellation, Ursa Major, in white ink on his wrist. Once healed, it became Dew’s favorite spot to kiss. He’ll never admit it to anyone, but the sight of his own art- even just a simple design- on his mate’s body makes him ridiculously happy. When Aether got top surgery, Dew tattooed more constellations along the scars. He also tattooed his own scars with flame designs.

He’s got some tattoos that are professionally done (mostly on his back, where he can’t reach) that he got on tour, but most of them are done himself.

Just thinking about it but -

UO : MC learns the "greater" plot that explains the reasons - and their origins - why things happen, and picking the right choices, is rewarded with the best ending.

FE16 : Claude gets some infodump, still puts in danger the remaining Nabatean (granted Rhea dies off screen so it's not that important!) for being hunted for parts, still uses the shiny bow he got despite learning what, rather who it was, grows as much as a beansprout in a dark closet regarding his beliefs about isolation and acceptance, even after listening to Rhea's history about how humans fucked up her people and why she needs to hide her identity.

UO : Alain talks to Gilbert and Hodrick, learns his country is pretty privilegied compared to the other ones, doesn't want to take advantage of this position but wants to create a lasting peace between his kingdom and the other countries

FE16 : Claude spends between 3 weeks (Nopes) and 1 year (FE16) at least at school, doesn't bother to learn anything (or it doesn't show!) about Fodlan and ends up with some hilarious takes like "Church BaD and promotes isolationism but my slave holders besties from House Gonerils are chads", complete with "Fodlan is to blame when it comes to having relationships with its neighbours when they just want to engage in one little bloodbath every thursday" only discovering water to be wet when the goddess' avatar becomes his teacher.

Guess which game is praised for its "complex" and "masterpiss" of a writing?

one piece ch. 1117 spoilers

(i still can't stop thinking about zoro vs venus gorosei clash)

i like that zoro was there to block the attack on sunny, because in chapter 1115 we saw how with one slash nusjuro cut down the lab of the egghead tower

(mentioned again in chapter 1116)

and now in 1117, nusjuro was preparing to do the same with the sunny and strawhats.

which zoro blocked with a rashomon attack (along with possibly his conqueror's haki)

(i really love that detail that both zoro and nusjuro are surprised/taken aback when recognizing the kitetsu sword)

then being thrown away from the impact of the clash, with jimbei catching zoro and zoro yelling at nami and the strawhats on the sunny to launch the ship, it's supposed to go to the sea level..

.. where sanji, bonney and the elbaf giants are fighting navy,

and luffy is running towards the elbaf ship there too, waiting for the sunny to jump from above to make their exit.

i've seen ppl think that zoro might fight nusjuro again, like a longer fight to win against him, but tbh (at least in my opinion) that probably won't happen. they might clash again, with zoro trying to hold him back, but he wouldn't plan to win or defeat him, he knows nusjuro is too powerful, it would be more about buying time for sunny to leave.

i just hope that, if the sunny successfully launches, that both zoro and jimbei would be able to jump after it. it depens on if jimbei would stay beside zoro, or if zoro tells him to join the strawhats to stear the sunny (as jimbei is their helmsman) to the sea..

i kinda of had a thought / theory, that nusjuro might try to separate them? if he wouldn't stop the ship from leaving, maybe he would try to take at least one or two of the strawhats down? especially if he fought against zoro, whom he saw has the kitetsu sword (so some sort of connection to his own sword), who has conqueror's haki, and is a part of the strawhats which makes him someone the gorosei want to discard, maybe he would not let zoro leave so easily..
