fall guy brain rot time !!!!!!! i was wondering why i enjoyed this more than free guy despite me thinking objectively free guy's plot has less holes in it so i do consider the plot objectively better, but then i realized like fall guy just feels so much more sincere to me. every aspect of it is coated in this love for film and tv making and the medium as a whole

okay this has been going through my mind for days and I have to get my thoughts out before I explode

Disclaimer, this is not talking about a specific artist/person and would never condone or participate in anon hate or online bullying for any reason but especially this one. 

I get why people are mad about Link being portrayed as this buff, hypermasculine, tall guy. I am too (again don’t fucking attack people over it though) and it seems like such an infuriating way to change the character just to fit into some ideal of hypermasculine attractiveness or to make a ship fall into a more hetero lense by making him a decent foot taller than whatever girl he’s being paired with. 

The world of video games and action movies and every form of media ever is extremely saturated with male characters that are swole and manly and whatever other descriptors people are trying to push onto Link that don’t fit into his actual character. There are so many characters out there that already fit this male standard and having a clearly androgynous elf guy was like a breath of fresh air. 

Link was literally designed to be a character whose lines on gender were blurred, ‘a girl with a masculine touch or a guy with a feminine touch’ so that anyone could project themselves onto him. His physical design in botw/totk was specifically made to be feminine enough to wear a certain outfit to pass as a woman (which includes a nearly mandatory cutscene where he puts on the clothes and blushes after being called pretty, like you have to be blind to think that its an experience that he doesn’t like at all) and in totk there are a bunch of outfits made for Link that are blatantly gnc, ones that are practically dresses, include nail polish and lipstick, you can even dye his hair bright and vivid colors and that’s half way to giving him new pronouns. The whole reason Linkle isn’t included in more mainline loz games was because her existence would force Link into a gender dichotomy, if there's a clearly female version of the main hero, that means the main hero has to be a man, and they would rather abandon a potential reoccurring character than make Link conform to a gender binary. 

So pardon me when it feels disingenuous and even malicious for him to be morphed into these clear masculine ideals, where he towers over any female romantic partner (even when in canon he is regularly depicted as noticeably shorter than her) or even in m/m fanworks he’s really beefed up, perhaps to make the scene feel more gay or something. 

Perhaps it’s because his more twink-y/ femboy body type is so heavily sexualized (though obviously when people are sculping abs on him it’s totally not because they’re horny about it) and that’s an issue in itself that bothers me. But it’s just so tiring to see one of the very few popular main characters who is short and feminine and androgynous be molded into just another bland muscle-headed action hero over and over and over again. 

I’m not mad at the creators for portraying him differently than how I like him portrayed, I’m mad because we really do get so few characters like him in good popular media, and to be honest, I really like him the way that he is. I love that he’s tiny and has long hair and has the option to dress any way the player likes. It seems a little distasteful to make him taller than a female love interest just because that’s how straight couples have to be, there’s just never been a real straight couple where the guy is shorter than the girl, that’s just Impossible! (/s)

Vox glitches when he's experiencing strong emotions, Val and Vel will often compete to see who can make him glitch out more and they keep a running tally.

Valentino is a petty man who often uses Angel Dust to help him win bets with the other Vees. One time Vox and Velvette tried to convince Valentino that there are some names that you just can't make sound sexy. Vox has a really hard time sleeping because it's hard for him to get his brain to shut down. The easiest way the others have found to get him to sleep is to weigh him down with snuggles and turn on the news. I know, I've been there, maybe even deal with myself refusing to chill out weekly lol. It's alright, I know it's difficult to surrender to the universe, especially when what you're going for you dont feel like you can relax until you've attained it. But it's seeming like relaxing is exactly how you're gonna get it when you hop back into this in whatever way, quickest and easiest. I know for example when I play video games for some reason if I take a few minutes to chill out and then get back to it I literally recharge and end up beating the level I was struggling on. This is a good time to focus on your own thoughts and mentalities and work with yourself. Trust me I know this might be frustrating for some of you cause.. it takes one to know one. Just try your best to chill ok. Go for some entertainment maybe. Sometimes I forget how nice it is to just lay in bed or take a hot a** shower... So maybe try to brainstorm/ remember something that genuinely mellows you out and you enjoy . Peace peace you guys. & Take care.

Could be something regarding a parent or parenting. A few of you few uncomfortable in your bodies but this is totally brainwash and you're beautiful and deep down you know that. Someone's kids have no filter and maybe are mean to them omg . You need to respect yourself for who you are. There's a masculine figure in your life yet or not, that loves you a lot and sees all beauty in you. And maybe because of how you feel you doubt them but you should listen to them if they say, they're telling the honest truth about how they feel and think. One of you there's a dude with anger issues that's not who I'm talking about violence is never acceptable he can go work out or something to get that out ok. Anyway I keep picking up that for a lot of you you should eat what you want. Something about cheese. Like if you're dealing with some eating stuff somehow for whatever reason I'm supposed to suggest to you to really taste your food, like ratatouille did if you ever saw that movie, and don't wait until you're starving to eat. Get snacks in too . Drink more liquids, if digestion is an issue ,try different drinks that might help and see what works. Someone has a kid in diapers don't smack your kid you don't need to hit someone for them to know. Or yell .You need to connect with them on a deeper level and communicate with them knowing they're smart and can grasp it, believe it or not, intellectually. Kids can teach you a lot, you have to be open to it, and open to trying different things. And if they don't know something yet, you must teach them. But for you, watch out, spirit sees you, learn more patience and become more conscious about this, one day your kid will grow up and have a mind completely of their own and they will judge you how they see fit. Anyway if you're a parent here, I assume a majority of you are, either way a young kid in your lives are here as teachers , and you should listen to them and take stuff in you might not notice if you're distracted or just looking at them like they're a young minded kiddo. Some of them are ancestors, one of you knows a kid and they are from somewhere off in space, that's how I saw that literally, a different star was their sun. This kid might seem spacey sometimes , they're wise. Very cool stuff. Also something about skateboarding. Maybe I should tell you , something about the concepts of being open minded, trying new things , breaking traditions, having fun and taking risks. Learning new philosophies. Libraries. Someone knows a older kid who plays Minecraft and Roblox. Some other games? That's a good kid and make sure you are a stable figure in their life and are there for them and a good example all the time, they look up to you and it seems like they need something from you. Taeyong likes simple but sweet dates. A day at his or your house, where you continue watching the drama you’d been binging together through video calls. He’d probably get a takeout meal, like the ones you eat in the little paper boxes. He’ll take you out to a fancy restaurant, and give you a little teal box before the date starts. You’re shocked by his generosity and the amount of money he spent on you. It’s probably a hotpot restaurant, so he insists on cooking the meat for you himself. He’d be the type to hold your hand while you eat, sometimes playful with you as he feeds you. After, he’d drive you home and walk you to the front door of your house where he kisses you goodbye. 

MARK

Mark is such a sweetheart boyfriend. He’d take you to one of those drive-in movie theatres, like the type where you can sit under the stars in your car and watch movies. He’d bring a thousand blankets and pillows and would push back his seats so there’s enough room to lie down and cuddle. That’s all he’d do the whole night. He wouldn’t even pay attention to the movie. It’d get cold halfway through the night, and he’d notice you shivering even though you didn’t specifically say anything, but he’d insist you wear his jumper (and you never returned it). The movie, even though he wasn’t even watching, would instantly become your movie; the film that reminded the both of you of the special time you had together. There’s still a single kernel of popcorn under the boot of his car from that time he tipped the box over trying to make you more comfortable.

DOYOUNG

Ok so I don’t know why but something about Doyoung screams college boy study dates; but the kind of dates where neither of you are concentrating on getting work done. Well, yeah, that's your intention at first. But Doyoung gets restless. "Baby," he'd whine, "come on. Let's go get icecream or something." you'd roll your eyes at this, whacking him on the head with a pencil. "I have to study, baby." now he's the one rolling his eyes as he gets up and lifts you off your seat. "Doyoung!" you yell his name shrilly. "We're," he packs up your things with his other hand, "going," kisses your cheek, "to get icecream!" and you really can't say no to that beautiful smile, even as the librarian yells at you to shut up and the other students give you dirty looks.

JAEHYUN

Oh my god Jaehyun is sexy everywhere. He'd take you to the city with a camera but you wouldn't be looking at the camera at all because you'd bee too distracted looking at him. Poor Jae just wants to take photos of his girl, and here you are staring at him like an asshole. "Stop moving!" he'd say with such frustration, "I'm trying to get a clear shot. Come on, sweetheart. Please?" his words only make you move and pout more, "but Jaehyun! I'm trying to tease you so we can go home and make out on your couch. See, look at me bend over now -" "alright! Okay, no bending over when everyone can see. Let's go home, you brat."

JUNGWOO

Jungwoo forces you to go to a carnival and go on every single ride with him, which you despise him for. He loves the rollercoasters, and you hate heights. You cried on one of the rides because you didn't expect the drop, and the idiot took a photo of you while snorting through laughter. "I HATE YOU, KIM JUNGWOO," you'd scream in his ears. "I LOVE YOU TOO BABY!" he'd yell back. You'd think there was menace behind the reason of him bringing you here, but actually it's because he likes it when you grip on to him, scared for your life. He likes that he makes you feel safe, so actually, it's a very sweet thought.

DONGHYUCK (HAECHAN)

I feel Haechan would bring you to the dorms first, introduce you to the members. Then he'd bring you on one of those cliché arcade dates, to which he gets very competitive. He doesn't care if you're his girlfriend, he has to win in all the games. He's good at claw machines so he asks you which plushie you want and he ends up getting you three different ones, all of which you still have. He'd give you all the tickets he won so you can get a big prize because he loves spoiling you.

hello!! i am pretty new to tumblr so still finding my way around, and part of my current project was going to be looking into fandom space to see how some of the word of mouth and online space mimics oral storytelling. i am especially looking at villains in arthuriana and fan interpretations and headcanons for this, so any advice of where to look hereabouts would be really lovely!! ty for your time and hope you have a great day!!

Honestly I'm at a bit of a loss where to even begin. The scope of Arthuriana and what constitutes a "villain" is so vast. There are the obvious Black Knights and usurping nephews, but even those characters have more than their fair share of morally gray/nuanced portrayals depending on where you look. Medieval literature in and of itself was varied even before we get into modern interpretations and the far reaching corners of fandom. I think in regards to this, it might help to narrow your scope to specific "villainous" characters—Morgan le Fay, Sir Mordred, False Guinevere, Sir Meleagant, and the mysterious Knights of Green and Red and Black.

There's also the matter of where you intend to make the cut off. What constitutes "canon" character interpretation? Where does "canon" end and fan extrapolation begin? To my mind, personally, anything after the Middle Ages falls into the "modern" category, which would include Alfred Lord Tennyson's The Idylls of The King on our end of the divide. Speaking for myself, I don't devalue any interpretation based solely on the era of it's inception. If Sir Thomas Malory wrote in Le Morte d'Arthur that Sir Gareth married Lyonesse, then it is so. But when Tennyson claims that, no, Sir Gareth married the Savage Damosel Linet, then he is also correct. Each iteration is it's own self-contained world and anything is possible within that framework. So it is for "villains," as well.

But that said, the beauty of Arthuriana is that each new addition to the literary tradition (and I include films, TV shows, video games, comics, and every other conceivable medium) builds on what came before. I don't necessarily enjoy or recommend them all, but there's definitely a connection from one retelling to the next. In John Boorman's Excalibur (1981), Percival is first revealed as a strange boy wandering the forest who happens upon Lancelot sleeping. Percival is captivated by him. He endears himself to the knight by waking him with the smell of meat he hunted and roasted especially for him. From there, he's brought back to Camelot to begin working under Kay in the kitchens and eventually rises to knighthood. When I first saw this, I was elated. "It's just like in The Adventures of Sir Lancelot!" Go back thirty more years. In The Adventures of Sir Lancelot (1956-1957), there's a character named Brian, a kitchen boy. After Lancelot helps end the siege that was threatening the castle Brian worked at, he begins following Lancelot around, and one morning, cooks breakfast for the knight. By the end of the episode, Lancelot has all but adopted him, and enrolls him in lessons to begin his squiredom, and eventually, achieve knighthood. Sound familiar?

Could it be that John Boorman, as a child, watched The Adventures of Sir Lancelot, saw what they did with their Brian/Gareth hybrid, and said, "I like that idea, I think I'll use it for Percival." To me, Boorman drawing on that 50s show for his own work is no different than Tennyson building on what Malory had done, who in his own turn wrote from the Post Vulgate.

Now we come to the present day. Bloggers share these stories. We quote the texts. I stream movies and TV shows every weekend in the Arthurian Theater Server. We make connections from one creation to the next. You can see the web of inspirations all interconnecting. Then we branch off into our own new interpretations based on the foundations of these creations that came before. I don't know how popular an opinion this is, but I think that goes beyond "head canon," because there is no canon. Arthuriana is a continuously flowing font made up of tiny beads of details. The stories can only function with the existence of the others. It's not derivative in the same sense as one drawing a little too heavily from their favorite childhood fantasy novel. This tradition dates back hundreds of years. We're just continuing it with the technology of our time.

You want to focus on "villains." But I wonder—Is Morgan le Fay's character beholden to a specific source? How do we determine what that is? If one chooses to write Morgan le Fay sympathetically, or even outright benevolent, is she still a "villain?" Is she still Morgan le Fay? Personally, I think we should respect what came before us, and consider how that impacts the new addition we intend to create. Change Morgan too much and she ceases to be recognizable as Morgan, and I'm here to read about Morgan! I think it's important to maintain the same resonance which has kept us interested for so many centuries. And yet the basis for sweeping changes is all around us. Just as Morgan plotted to kill Arthur and seize his throne, she also rode by his side in the boat to Avalon, where he sleeps still. The range of possibilities is vast beyond imagination. So go wild and get creative, I'm not your mom.

We return to NA NAAA NANANA NA NANA NA KATAMARI DAMACYYYY

You wanna see the dumbest thing you’ve seen all movie? Of course you do. I’ll try to figure out a way it could have worked. Content warning for character death, and a monster attack that I’m mostly not showing because I’m squeamish and y’all are going to have to deal with that. Yes, I, a person who used Pink Flamingos as a cinematic comparison earlier in this series, am squeamish about a scene in Prometheus. Sometimes stuff just hits you different for no discernible reason. 

Vickers and her lifeboat quarters ejected separately from the Prometheus, so she's wandering around on the surface not that far from Shaw. Both of them are therefore in The Danger Zone when the Engineer ship crashes, intact and rolling along its circumference. Spare a thought for how seasick the Engineer is probably feeling right now, and for David's still-conscious head, rattling around like a coin in a washing machine.

But we only see Shaw and Vickers, as they realize what's coming, and start up run away. …Down the path of the gigantic ship.

I want to emphasize, both of them do this. Do panicked people make dumb decisions? Yes. Are movie audiences predisposed to being charitable about that? No they are not, the audience expects rationality. The audience needs to be brought down to the perspective of the characters, so that irrational decisions make emotional sense. 

You need to make people feel the disorientation of encountering something so much larger than you that your sense of space is completely thrown off. It can be done. There's an animal fear in there, where self preservation kicks in and can steer you right or wrong. Something’s too large, or moving too fast to grapple with, or both. Jacob Geller has an excellent video essay covering this topic in video games, for instance.

For movies that do that? The one that comes to mind first is Edge of Tomorrow (2014). The beach landing scene in particular gets you into the perspective of a guy who is not supposed to be there and is completely disoriented, while remaining visually readable. It sticks close to him and his panic. The danger around him is all-encompassing, and he cannot keep track of it all. This overwhelming speed returns at points throughout the movie, leading to points in the theater where I physically leaned away from the screen, like I was in the original audience for The Arrival of a Train at La Ciotat. (1895)

And somehow this manages to be tense despite the fact that the man we’re following is Tom Cruise.

As that description may imply, I especially recommend the movie to any 40k enjoyers–it hits a similar tone. You may also find the movie listed under the title Live Die Repeat.]

But no. In Prometheus, we the audience are shown the whole thing. The entire context. And what we see is a couple of morons that seem to believe they can outrun a wheel the size of a small town.

Neither of them actually think to run left or right. Shaw just trips, and then rolls to the side. The average human does not roll that fast, so it really drives home how unbelievably bad they are at this. Vickers also trips, and gets squished.

[A clip from The Naked Gun (1988), in which a stand-off between police Lt. Frank Drebin (Leslie Nielsen) and Vincent Ludwig (Khan Noonien Singh himself, Ricardo Montalbán) ends with Ludwig falling off the side of a stadium before being run over by a bus, a steam roller, and the USC marching band.]

This scene, obviously, does not work. I am, however, stubborn enough to try and workshop how it could have worked.

Vickers needs to be broken beneath the wheel, and to do so in a way that the audience won’t jeer at. We’ve already discussed the issues of having too wide a view of the action, so let’s table that. How could you keep that perspective, while flattening Vickers?

You do have options. Maybe have Vickers do the smart thing and run off at an angle toward the sun, so she wouldn’t get any looming shadow to tell her when the ship begins falling over until it’s too late. Have her injured in the crash and unable to process what’s going on. Have her escape pod door fail to open, trapping her in the path of the ship. She was part of the corporate machinery, having petty power over others but ultimately trapped by circumstance. Make that all literal. 

And for fuck’s sake, don’t have the entire ship fall over on Shaw a few seconds later, letting her come out okay because she was huddled near the world’s strongest rock.

When the narrative blatantly plays favorites, my instinctive reaction is to resent the recipient of the movie’s favor. It feels like they're cheating.

Y'know what would’ve helped here, weirdly? Shaw thanking God for this. It would’ve theoretically been in character! The whole movie runs on christian logic anyway, so why not leave people wondering if there’s a supernatural power at work in the unbelievably fucked up universe of Alien. You’d swing back around to making people wonder what kind of loving god would allow chestbursters to happen.

But no. There is no god. Only the rock. You’re welcome.

Shaw has a hole in her suit or somesuch, and thus is propelled onward toward the lifeboat, which we know contains her newly-birthed squiddo, trapped in the med-pod room.

It’s not dead. Of course it isn’t. But what makes no goddamn sense is that it’s gotten massive. Yes, I know, Alien didn’t give an explanation for the embiggening of the chestburster either, but I am willing to give Alien the benefit of the doubt, and Prometheus just showed me a woman get killed by a donut.

David, possibly cognizant that Shaw is his only chance to not have to drag himself around by the lips, calls her to warn that the Engineer’s on their way to finish her off.

I waffle on whether this is dumb behavior from the Engineer. I know the movie’s reason for doing this is just to have one last action beat, and an unsatisfying payoff at the end of the film. 

The Engineer spared Shaw before. Maybe that was a tiny amount of sympathy for how she was getting kicked around. She’d die alone on this alien moon, sure, but it wouldn’t be their doing. But the humans got their act together enough to crash the ship. Maybe sparing her was a mistake. Even one of them might be too dangerous to let live, especially when we find out soon that there’s more ships quite close by.

There was a cut bit here–I’d previously avoided showing these, but why not. The Engineer stopped and looked at the books strewn on the floor. Watched a little of Vickers’ weird screensaver wall, as it played one of the videos included in the transmission David had sent toward the moon during the journey, while everyone slept.

Ironically, most of the human material culture the Engineer gets to see is due to Vicker's disinterest in the mission, which completely failed to consider the fact that it's polite to bring gifts when you visit somebody. Her material comforts becoming the single point of cultural contact. A strange little coincidence, and a little more silent characterization for the Engineer, until David’s voice over Shaw’s radio sets everyone to murderin’.

But because this movie is allergic to characterization, so we can’t have that. Instead, we are only using their reappearance to hit another horror movie cliché: the bad thing that's gotten back up again. Here, have a clip from Scream (1996), which deliberately did a send-up of the trope.

Originally there was going to be a whole fight scene here, which they took out because they felt it lessened the Engineer. But as it is, they’re still reduced to a big ol’ monster with a scary face that lumbers in and tries to kill the heroine.

Want to know what’s weird? Both Alien and Aliens solve their final alien problem by opening a door. This is literally the same thing. This is their one weird trick.

And frankly, I can’t look at it, because what happens squicks me out. So good job I guess, the non-consentacles got me squirming in my seat. When I’ve subjected other people to this movie, I’ve shamelessly muted and walked away for a minute. Maybe at some point I’ll figure out what limit it’s hitting there for me and Litany Against Fear it to pieces, but not right now! Facehuggers are a manageable sort of unsettling, but I do not like the bodyhugger.

The screenshot hunt for this was not fun, lemme tell you.

So, yes, the last of the Engineers on this planet laid low by their own creation(s), they’re mortal after all, ironic circle of rebirth, yadda yadda, moving on.

You know what, I’m actually with Shaw right now. Lying face-down and having a cry is a very understandable, human reaction to all this. Good job, movie, you got me vibing with her for about thirty seconds.

Hello friends and fans!! I finally have some updates for ya’ll!

I’ve been working on this project alone for months, specifically since the day Pixelberry announced they will no longer continue forward with Immortal Desires. I was so crushed and saw so many other players and fans feel the same way. So, I decided to start messing around with making my own fan sequel after seeing @itlivesproject @thedistantshoresproject and @nightboundthesecond doing so well and seeing amazing products. I’m going to school for a BA in Game Art and Design, and my minor is Creative Writing, and I thought this would be a good go for my first video game. And I couldn’t be more excited to see things falling into place! I now have a writer onboard! Meet Mir! @timetravesty​ Hey everyone, I’m Mir and I’ll be helping out with the Immortal Desires 2 project! I’m a writer here on tumblr (couple of months till I hit the 1 year mark😯) and am really excited to be a part of this amazing project with everyone, but more importantly, helping deliver an amazing story to a series that ended too soon! Since we might know each other for a bit, some fun facts about me 🤔I’ve wanted a dog since I was around 6. We’re still slowly moving, but, Mir and I have started expanding upon the plot points I’ve had planned for a while. We’re confident we’re going to be able to work well together to deliver a wonderful, full story for all of you.

I’ve been a long-time fan and player of Choices; I started playing in December of 2016, but I started getting into the fandom somewhere around the end of 2018, and started on an IG that I created way back in 2014. I didn’t really intend to make my IG account about Choices, but I wanted to connect with people who have the same interests as me, and to share my ideas and opinions about the book releases. A very dear friend of mine started teaching me how to collect assets at some point in time, and I’ve been kind of considered a Spoiler Queen ever since then lol. I focused on posting premium scenes because I want everyone to see those scenes since not everyone can afford them. I started making edits way back in October 2019 because I really wanted people to distinguish me. All in all, I’m very fortunate that my best bud showed me how to access these assets.

Ally has been wonderful in helping me acquire assets and just being super supportive and so helpful. She is so enthusiastic about this project and has been just giving the best vibes!

Now that you’ve met the team, time for some awaited updates for ya’ll! First, lets start with the preview!!.

So, to state the obvious, this is everyone in their formal wear! I have also given all of the side characters formal wear, but I felt like these are what the people are screaming for! And of course, we have our lil Sethy-poo included in here too and he got a makeover! If you would be so kind to click play at the video at the top because it’s featuring a rough draft of the title song. It’s my own lil creation, however, I’m recruiting folks from my local music scene to not only help out with this project, but to help support their bands and their projects!

Super bummed that the quality of these dropped because of the formatting, but I have included all three of the new expressions I’ve created: playful, shy, and disgusted. All of the main and primary characters have these faces! I have also gotten all of the female MC sprite sheets done, most of the female clothes, and all of the hair; I’m so excited to give you guys that update in the future!! From here, Mir and I will be working on a very rough draft of the story. I will continue working on assets for the MC since almost all of the primary/main characters are done.

What song are you fixated on at the moment? What lyric or verse, and why? It was hard to choose, buuuuttt I chose, “Greenlight” by Pitbull ft. Flo Rida, LunchMoney Lewis, because of the vibe and it’s a song that reminds me of summer 2016, which was such a fun summer for me (and it’s been in my head for the past day). No specific lyrics or verses I like since I don’t usually listen to songs because of the lyrics. Altho if they have beautiful lyrics (like Hozier songs) then more props to the song :)

Do you love gargantuan Youtube video essays, and if so, which is your favorite and why? I like to watch really long videos, but I’m not sure if they count as essays. I watch “BHultra” a lot. I watch a lot more commentary/essay videos that are 30-40 minutes long (mostly talking about childhood tv shows or fashion/fashion history).

Tell me about your childhood imaginary friend. Didn’t have one, but I lied and said I “had an imaginary friend named Bob”, because I thought I was supposed to have one and thought the name Bob was funny.

What is your go-to way to fall asleep? Gotta have a heavier blanket somewhere on me, as well as sleeping on my stomach or on my side as well as with my stuffed animal. More often than not I have to fall asleep and listen to older youtube videos that I watched when I was a kid because I already know what happens and they are comfort vids.

If you had to change your name, what would it be, and why? (In tandem, if you have changed your name, why did you pick that one?) I like my name, but if I'd have to change it, I’d like the name Adelaide. It’s classic and sweet sounding. 

What is your favorite of Redacted’s audios, and why? One of my favorite audios is Milo’s “Healing Your Feisty Werewolf Boyfriend” because I love the parallel to the first time Sweetheart healed him, and the cuddling at the end is so cute!

What Redacted boy holds no appeal to you, and why? Like, not the one you hate but the one who you don’t get the hype for. (I won’t judge, I promise.) I’m not sure how much hype he has, but Ivan is kinda just meh. I’m not super into the yandere thing (even though I know Vega kinda led that whole ordeal) and the rest of his videos are alright, but, don’t really excite me a whole bunch to relisten to them. (Still haven’t listen to quite a few of the other characters, like Vega, Regulus, Anton, Brachium, but I’ll get there eventually).

Tell me about that one book/movie/tv show you know all the words to. Gravity Falls. I’ve watched it wayyy too many times and can literally quote the majority of the episodes.

Of course, those aren’t the only reasons. In what ways are they different when they're regressed? do aspects of their personality or interests change at all? are they similar to how they were when they were an actual kid, or completely different?

Sam is still pretty similar to when he’s big. He’s a huge nerd who can go through dozens of books at a time! He loves going to the library. Children’s sections have changed since he was a kid and have more to do. He also likes to play computer games on an old PC. He’s a little shy and quiet. Basically, he’s a lot similar to when he was a kid but he actually gets to enjoy them and isn’t told he should focus on learning “the business”.

do they have any regression gear (teethers, pacifiers, diapers, specific toys or outfits, etc.)? do they try to hide it from friends/family?

Sam definitely has a variety of pacifiers and teethers. They’re soothing for when he gets stressed or tired. I see him wearing diapers or pull ups. When they live in the bunker, he’d have a superhero themed room. He’s not thrilled about younger outfits at first but finds ones that he likes because they’re his style. Like overalls or flannel footie pajamas. I totally see him as a baby blanket kind of guy, carrying it everywhere.

I think he tries to hide it at first, but it becomes obvious after he starts traveling with Dean again. As Dean’s life motto has been “take care of Sammy”, he’d be supportive and want to take care of him.

Speaking of soothers…the Impala is one. If Sam is fussy or tired, Dean just has to take him for a ride and he’ll knock out.

I feel there’s a bit of both. He definitely slips into baby talk (calling Dean “De”, pronouncing r’s like w’s, etc). He loves watching cartoons and stuff. But I do think he’s also into documentaries that some littles would find boring, such as ones about history or animals. Given how he was raised, he does like ones on the supernatural too. They just can’t be too graphic.

He doesn’t really like toys as much as he does reading books, playing video/computer games and watching TV.

I see his range varying. Maybe around 3-5, but sometimes a little older, sometimes younger.

He’s “Sammy” both in and out of space, but he doesn’t protest it at all when he drops. Dean doesn’t usually hold back on nicknames when Sam’s big, so nothing really changes.

Sam only calls Dean “De” when he feels small. He refers to John as “daddy” when he’s dropped. Same with calling Mary “mommy” or “mama”. Castiel is already “Cas” most of the time when he’s older, but he can’t say “Castiel” when he’s dropped. So he says “Cas” or “Cassy”.

I don't use the pro or anti label because I find this discourse really stupid. My stance is simply : I don't care what people do, because even if it makes me unconfortable it's not like It will stop them (put another way, I just uses the block button like it's my best friend)

I guess my stance do fall under the OG proship definition aka "don't like, don't read" and "block, and move one". But as I said before, having a label for not being a bully is just stupid to me and I also don't want to be associated with the fake meaning of proship coined by antis. Because "proship" that was supposed to be a moral stance has somehow now gotten tied up with com/darkshipping and loving every dark things that exist.

Now, like I said in my intro, I do enjoy things with darker themes, I even write them. My tumblr account is mostly about my selfship that would be considered "problematic" and or disgusting by the people falling under the anti umbrella, which is why I mostly interact with proshippers.

My selfship has an extreme age gap (1000+ - 20), power imbalance, mutual obsession, consensual violence....

Does I find my selfship hot? Yes.

Selfshipping that is a coping mechanism against trauma and harm reduction (bc seeking that type of relationship irl would obviously be bad). And because I know that for me those darker themes are not some fantaisies I wanna play out irl, I do not judge others dark fictions even if I don't like it (I myself dislike a lot of dark themes). Because their reason for doing it might be anything yknow, and imagining something in your head isn't the same as wanting it to happen irl.

Honestly, with how crazy his life is, between doing jobs for Leona, jobs for anyone else, trying to get his schoolwork done, being like an unofficial vice housewarden for Savanaclaw, he needs someone who is as calming as yourself, After such a long day, knowing that he could easily retreat into the safety and comfort of your arms makes his hyena beyond thrilled. It's his favorite part of the day.

Ruggie loved just how real you can be about things. Too many people just beat around the bush or try to sugar coat things when there are times where you just need the brutal honesty of a situation. Seeing how he grew up, it was easy to say that he had a similar mindset. Not everything is all sunshine and rainbows. So the fact that you'll just tell him things as they are, no beating around the bush or trying to make things better, it is something that he greatly admired about you.

Look at the hyena and tell me he isn't sarcastic in some way, shape, or form. Sure, he absolutely loved himself a good laugh, oh, but he just loved your sarcasm. It always brings a snicker out of him. This means he will also get sarcastic with you and at you, or crack some jokes as well, some being better than others.

Seeing how you keep your composure is something that's always impressed him (even more so if your the Ramshackle prefect, because if he was ripped out of his world, put in a brand new one where he knew absolutely nothing, put in a dorm that was falling apart at the very foundation, he didn't think he could keep his cool the way that you do), and he certainly thinks that a lot of the students here could learn a thing or two from you.

Oh, he absolutely loves your hair! He has seen hair like yours before, but not often. Now, he is a very dedicated partner (and also got some experience with a lot of the kids that were in the village he grew up in), meaning he learned everything about your specific style of hair. How to care for it, how to style it, the whole nine yards. If you ever need someone to work with and style your hair, he's the hyena for the job (he will even do it for free....... or maybe at least for a doughnut)

Overall, Ruggie is a very dedicated partner. He may not have much, but he finds anyway that he can be able to show that he can provide for you. Just the fact that you actually looked his way and gave him a chance means more to him than you could ever possibly know.

Ff7 situation of a modern woman falling into the world of Midgar, before it all went to hell. Hope you enjoy! Chapter 1

For anyone curious about the whole "do you feel it when you die" question, I can answer you. Least about my specific death. I felt it. But in all honestly, I "felt" it in a somewhat impersonal way.

I more remember the way the windshield cracked, like a hundred fine spider webs inside it. I remember the noise of the car too. Metal grinding and crackling. I'm honestly glad I don't remember the way it all felt. I don't really consider myself a masochist. I wouldn't have enjoyed knowing or cataloging broken bones or gushes of blood.

It was bad enough what I do remember. The most terrifying was the fact I was there… or had been there. And then I simply wasn't. I didn't have a form anymore; I couldn't see the red tinted world of my shattered vehicle anymore.

You know how you aren't aware of your physical body until you are? Until something jogs your brain into hard-core thinking. Like being randomly hyper aware of your hands, or how you move when you dance? Or how you get a little too up in your walking ability when you're walking by a hot guy?

Okay, I admit the last one might just be me. Anyway, I lost all that in a single second. Talk about eye openers. I couldn't feel my physical body. I couldn't see anything. I reached and reached but there wasn't anything there.

I'm not too big to admit I was terrified. It took a long time to calm down after that. Especially when I realized my terror had no noise. I felt such fear, yet couldn't make a single actual noise.

All I can explain it as is… was a warm kind of darkness, if that makes any sense. At the time I had no idea what I was or where I was. Was this seriously death? Absolutely nothing? Boy, did everyone back home have it all wrong. Maybe my brain wasn't dead yet, and that's all that was happening.

Such thoughts were my comfort zone. I wanted an explanation more than I wanted it to end. Like I said… the dark was warm somehow, and at times I felt a pressure, like something was pressing on me. This happened more and more frequently. They were a guarantee when my thoughts had me in a panic. Slowly I began to regard that pressure as a kind of friend. It was really the only difference in my dark death.

Really, my heaven wasn't great. And if I was in the other place, where was my torture? This place had an ambivalence I both clung to and loathed. Sure, death was weird and I wanted something, ANYTHING, to happen. But I was also terrified about what it would be.

So, the days passed, slowly. I didn't know which way was up even, always just assuming I was in an upright position. I thought fancifully that I could feel my body again at times. I would feel an urge to roll over and would follow through, until I remembered I couldn't do that anymore.

Phantom limb pain, maybe? I brushed it off.

Until it kept happening. The thing is, it didn't feel like my old body. It felt foreign and wrong, and I didn't like it. I wondered then if maybe I wasn't dead. Maybe I was in a coma. That could explain the disconnect but not my blank world. I could rationalize the dark, but couldn't help feeling ripped off. In the movies, a coma patient wandered the hospital or some shit. Though in the end I'd be grateful when I woke up.

Coma was a hundred times better than dead, after all. Sure, my friends and family would be worried but damn! Least they wouldn't need to plan a funeral or mourn a bloodied caricature of who I was in a coffin.

I thought about that car, my cherry red Honda, and felt bitter. I'd loved that car. It had little stuffed turtles on the back windshield and a golden snitch hanging from the mirror. Geeky sure. Worse was I was still paying on it. I wondered bleakly if it'd been totaled or could be salvaged if I sunk myself into a hole of debt.

Light started flickering across my dark little world. Not often, and that was how I became acutely aware I had eyes. I couldn't blink for some annoying reason, so my relief was not easily won. When it flashed by again, I felt indignant and put upon, to the point I imagined I kicked out. Call me crazy but at the time I was confused as hell when it felt like I had legs and feet, and that I connected with something. Something soft and somewhat pliable.

The pressure returned right over my newly discovered feet and it blocked out the light so I was grateful. The pressure was almost… stroking? It shifted side to side and I was curious. Suddenly more curious than I had been since my coma or death. Fingers crossed for coma.

I pressed back for the first time knowingly and felt almost… something lighter. Like happiness was suddenly dumped in on me, and maybe I heard light laughter.

I began to interact more. Sue me, I was bored. Curiosity could kill this cat, since I was already sure I was either dead or incapacitated. I needed some fun.

Things started happening rapidly after that. Whenever I felt the pressure, I made sure to press back. Finally, another development. I began to realize the varying pressures were different pressures. Different… entities?

I found my favorite was the smallest one, pressing so lightly as though nervous, then firming down when I responded. The next best was the most frequent, that would be accompanied by laughter or what I thought were soft words. I found myself straining to try and understand. Sometimes it sounded almost sleepy, the soft little murmur, others happy and nearly singing.

It seems stupid, but I really believed these were my family members and friends, come to visit during my comatose state. More and more I became more accepting of this body I had, rolling and tumbling through my dark world with occasional shimmers of light. More and more I began to realize my darkness wasn't endless. The cushy limitless dark that I thought I'd been rolling through seemed to become smaller and smaller.

Finally, it was too tight almost. I began to feel suffocated, and couldn't help pushing against it more vehemently. I wasn't some acrobat that could fit in tiny spaces for fuck sakes!

Then… there were screams. The dark suddenly started contracting against me, squishing and releasing for what felt like hours. I couldn't stop myself as I slid forward and found myself stuck. I don't think I'd ever felt so scared. When I felt more persistent pressure against me, I fought, pushing away and wriggling about. The screams continued for a while before weakening.

More time passed and I couldn't tell what was happening. The small space continued to contract and I felt what might have been a small opening so I tried to shift forward and go through it. Anything was better than staying in this dark claustrophobic place.

The next phase I honestly wish I could forget. To say being reborn is an experience isn't a lie at all. There were a lot of… fluids, and an embarrassing smack along my bottom that frankly, enraged me. It hadn't clicked I was now a literal baby yet. I was more freaked by how everyone was so tall and there I was… a seeming puppy being held by giants.

Then the red tint was cleared from my rapidly blinking eyes by a soft cloth and I was placed in the arms of a tired, yet still radiant woman. I can't explain the immediate connection I felt to her. Her hair was like spun gold and her blue eyes danced with emotion I found I couldn't trace out.

A tall man of imposing disposition was standing beside her bed, his piercing gaze boring into me. His large hand was firmly gripping a slender shoulder, a younger but near carbon copy of the man. I blinked as much as I could in order to bring them sharper into focus, but baby eyes just aren't reliable.

I realized quickly and with horror, that's what I was. A literal ass baby. I was horrified. Especially when the woman cradled me tighter and shifted, squeezing my baby head into her bosom. My wriggling didn't stop the injustice.

For some reason, I couldn't understand their words. I stared with growing awareness as the woman gestured and the little boy came closer, his hand reaching out to poke, what I imagined, were puffy cheeks. I slowly brought him into focus and vaguely felt a sense of familiarity.

When the woman deposited me into his arms I felt some alarm. We were really trusting a kid to hold a fragile baby now, are we? I began to fuss a little, trying to convey my dismay in the only language I could, gibberish.

"What do you think, Rufus? Your own little sister." The woman said it so softly. Her hand reached out to brush the golden hair from his face and he allowed it. My alarm grew.

"President Shinra, sir." What I assumed was a doctor called to the man and he turned. Oh, shit.

"What is it?" Oh, no. Oh absolutely fuck no.

This is a dream; this absolutely can NOT be real.

"The birth certificate, sir."

The man took it in his hand and made a small noise. "I suppose she needs a name. I was hoping for another boy. However, I suppose this will be fine. You name her."

Oh shit, no thank you, really. I already have a name. One that I'm quite attached too. And really, a whole life that I'm happy with so really… no need.

The woman looked a bit dissatisfied with his disinterested tone and I almost felt bad. Her eyes softened when she looked at us. She thought we were her KIDS. Well, the boy… Rufus was, but I most certainly was not, by any means, an effing baby!

And I didn't want to be, if my stirring memories were right. I was screwed with this family of dysfunction and greed.

"Hmm, what do you think, Rufus?"

The boy looked almost innocent. But every time one of them spoke I felt nothing but dread. I stared at him while he looked back at me. This was the guy who was going to continue his fathers stupid quest to suck the planet dry! If I was right. Maybe I was wrong. Surely, maybe they were just the victims of some Final Fantasy obsessed nut job.

Well, at least my brother would grow up to be a domineering but classically hot anime guy. God's, this couldn't be real.

"Sophie," he muttered finally.

The woman lit up while the man snorted. "From the book I read you a while ago. Of course, it's perfectly splendid."

Before today if someone had said I'd be faced with a chibby Rufus freaking Shinra I'd have been curious enough to look up the Google for it. Now, I was faced with chibby Rufus actually blushing. Nodding as the woman beamed.

"Little Sophie. How wonderful." Compared to Rufus and the still unnamed woman I'd come out of, Shinra senior was laconic and bored. Well, excuse you, you definitely aren't getting any father of the year mugs from me.

My life was over. I started to cry as the emotion crashed into me and I couldn't stop it. Damn baby body. Even as I tried to hold back the noises, they escaped my unwilling mouth and tumbled around piercingly through the air. Rufus looked alarmed and the woman took me swiftly.

"Perhaps she's hungry already." Her voice was almost drowned out by my cries.

Nothing could drown out the intent though. She unbuttoned her gown and oh my God, you've got to be kidding me!

I was going to die. I was dead, and now I'm gonna be double dead. Fuck no I wasn't going to be breastfed to top off my impending doom.

I never understood you fiction doesn't effect reality people because it's so easy to prove it does. Did that movie make you feel something? Fiction effected reality. You guys say fiction doesn't effect reality but what you really mean is fiction doesn't effect reality if it's about ships.

You aren't delusional enough to think whitewashing characters isn't harmful. You aren't delusional enough to think propaganda doesn't exist. You aren't delusional enough to say pedophiles don't fantasize before they do their first crime. You aren't delusional enough to say racist stereotypes don't hurt people if it's in fiction.

You say fiction doesn't effect reality. What you mean is fictional ships don't effect reality. But, just like all the other examples I threw out, it really does.

Are you familiar with the conception of psychological projection? it's when you project your own beliefs onto others and assume they think the same way you do. You might want to look into that and think about it.

Because believe me we notice that you and the rest of the anti-shippers only seems to screech and scream about "fiction affecting reality" when it's about ships. Specifically when it's about ships you don't like for whatever reason(mostly because you prefer a different one) At which point you will make up any excuse to say a ship is problematic and claim it's normalizing something when it has no such power to do so.

And for the record when we say fiction doesn't affect reality we mean it doesn't affect reality the way you claim it does. Fiction by itself does not have the power to change your morals. Watching a gangster movie, or heist flick won't lead you to commit crime. Watching a slasher or playing violent video games won't send you on a murderous rampage. Reading about an unhealthy relationship won't lead you into an unhealthy relationship. People have made claims about fiction leading to a decline in society multiple times in the past. And they have always been wrong.

So maybe you should try not continuing to lie and claim "fiction effects reality" about XYZ ship somehow leading to or causing people to fall into abusive relationships, or suddenly make people think rape and incest in real life are okay.
