a/n: dear reader, thank you so much for following this series - i never imagined you would like it so much. i hope you enjoy this final fic, and please do reblog if yes! i’m sad to leave ceddie and harry, but i like how i've ended it :)
The morning after Cedric’s surprise party, you’re woken up by the soft sunlight streaming in through the huge windows of the Hufflepuff common room. Lifting your head up, you hear Cedric grumble, arms tightening around you. The scene feels so cozy that you don’t want to return to reality - but there’s a Herbology midterm coming up, and you’ve never been a natural at the subject, unlike a certain Hufflepuff. And so, you begin extricating yourself from Cedric’s embrace, which is no easy feat.
“How’s it feel to be seventeen, Ceddie?”
You get a groan in response.
“Alright, alright, then you stay put, but I’ve got to go study. I’m not a genius like you,” you tease, squirming in your efforts to slide out of his grasp.
“‘M not a genius, Y/N/N. You help me all the time. Don’t go, I know you’re ready for it, you don’t need anymore studying,” comes a sleepy protest.
“Mm… thank you for your confidence, but I assure you I am not in the least prepared. And what is all this bad advice coming from a prefect,” you raise an eyebrow, before finally slipping out of Cedric’s arms, and standing up immediately to avoid being pulled back in.
You feel the loss of Cedric’s warmth around your shoulders, and it weakens your resolve far more than it should, so you figure you need to leave as soon as possible, before grey eyes melt you into a puddle and back into his chest.
“Oh, fine. Leave me right after spending the night,” Cedric jokes, fully awake at last. He chuckles at the flush on your cheeks from this statement, and dodges your hit to his arm. “Just kidding, darling. Thank you for the party. Now go do what you have to do, I know you’re a busy girl.”
You smile softly, before tiptoeing up to ruffle his hair, and turn to leave. The gray eyes don’t leave you until you’re fully out of sight.
******
Climbing through the portrait hole, you see Ron and Harry sitting on the carpeted floor in front of the hearth, playing Wizard’s Chess, and Hermione engrossed in a book on the nearby couch. The scene is so familiar and comforting that it brings an involuntary smile to your face, before you wipe it off, the fight replaying in your head.
Ron is the first to see you, freezing mid-check, and gives a weak wave. Harry turns, and so does Hermione, with the former also stiffing up, and the latter offering a sweet smile. Hermione then looks back, and, finding the two boys silent, rolls her eyes, and jerks her head in your direction, glaring at them.
Spurned, Ron and Harry stand up, and walk over, looking so dejected that you almost feel sorry for them.
“Y/N - it’s nice to see you again,” Ron begins, his expression sheepish. Harry nods to echo the sentiment.
“We just wanted to apologize for that night. For the mean things we said. None of it was true, and it was of no fault on your end,” Ron confesses.
Your eyes soften, and give him a pat on the shoulder, “thanks Ronnie. And I expect you’ve said the same to ‘Mione?” giving him a pointed look, to which he nods fervently. At this, you offer a smile at last, and seeing this, Ron seems to realize he’s forgiven.
“I’ll give you two some space then,” he says, guiding Hermione away, and leaving Harry alone with you in the Gryffindor Common Room.
Harry gestures for you to sit, and the two of you settle in on the carpet.
“Y/N/N - I’m really, honestly sorry. I had no right to say what I said, and I’ve felt horrid about it every day since then. I know you’ll always have my back, and some Yule Ball date would never change that. I hope you’ll forgive me,” the black haired boy finally blurts, the words spilling out of him.
Your resolve crumbles. I mean, this is Harry. One of your best friends. You could never stay mad at him, no matter how much he messes up. It’s like he said: you have each other’s backs. So you lean forward and hug him, breathing in the smell of broom polish and treacle toffee that you had missed incredibly, feeling the boy physically relax into your touch.
“You really like him, don’t you?” Harry chimes, as you pull out of the hug.
“Yes, I do. And I hope you’re okay with that,” you share, crimson spilling onto your cheeks.
Harry nods, a grin spreading across his face, “I am, really. I know I acted in jealousy at the ball, but I don’t think I’ve ever actually felt romantically towards you - not that you’re unlikeable, you know, just -”
You laugh out loud, cutting him off, and offer a nod, “I get it, don’t stress yourself out, mate.”
He nods in relief, “you’re my best friend, Y/N/N, and that’s it. I love our relationship, and I do not want it to ever change.”
You nod, feeling better than you have in nearly a month.
Ron and Hermione choose that exact moment to enter the room, the guilt of eavesdropping written on their faces. But you’re far too happy to care - the gang’s back together.
******
Over the next month, life returns to normal, or rather, a new normal. Hermione is hanging out with Krum as much as possible, to make the most of their time together before the tournament ends and he returns to Durmstrang. You don’t see her nearly as much anymore, but it’s understandable.
Instead, you spend your days either studying out on the greens with Harry and Ron, or hanging out with Cedric, going to Hogsmeade’s various little cafes.
The second tournament task comes along, and you, Hermione, and Ron are pulled into the headmaster’s office then sent to the bottom of the Black Lake. When you awake, Cedric is treading water to keep the two of you above the lake, and you’re quickly pulled out and given a warm towel. Since Cedric finished first, the two of you rest in the champion seating section, and the boy keeps asking you if you’re okay, despite your fervent exclamations that you’re probably doing better than he is.
His friends soon surround him, arriving with endless teasing about how you’re the person “he’ll sorely miss,” and Cedric flushes scarlet at their words, refusing to meet your eyes. Eventually, he manages to shove them all away, and looks down to see you grinning.
“Ced, just so you know, I would’ve sorely missed you too,” you admit, before pressing a quick kiss to his lips.
Suddenly, Cedric could care less about his friends. He feels warm and dry and cozy, not a trace of the Black Lake’s eeriness on his mind.
******
A few weeks later, and it’s your birthday. Cedric had wracked his brain for ways to top your surprise party for him, and enlisted the help of the trio to do so. Hermione contributed all your likes and dislikes: she knew you like the back of her hand; Ron got Fred and George to put together a little sparkler show for you, and Harry was in charge of inviting all your closest friends.
The day of, you wake up to Cedric’s voice, before he gives you five minutes to pick an outfit, then promptly blindfolds you and leads you out to the courtyard, where the cutest picnic party had been set up. You laugh in delight, ecstatic, and after a quick kiss for Ced, rush over to meet up with your friends.
As you catch up over drinks with them, two boys, one Gryffindor, one Hufflepuff, are standing a distance away, both looking at you with slight smiles.
Soon, the sky is darkening and the party growing more and more uproarious. You spin around to see Harry and Cedric talking, and grin. Strolling over, you place an arm around each. Cedric kisses your hair, and you give Harry a tight hug.
“Thank you for all of this,” you say, “seriously. I’ve never been happier.”
Before they can reply: you were never one for cheesy emotions, you (forcibly) pull them toward the karaoke machine, where Ron and Hermione are singing their hearts out.

midnight feasts and evening strolls — c.d.
Tumblr media
Summary: Aside from thinking up clever retorts to practically everything, you had always been quite fond of midnight feasts. Aside from being reduced to a blushing mess at said clever retorts, Cedric had always been quite fond of you.
Pairing: Cedric Diggory x fem!ravenclaw!reader
Word Count: ~4.1K
A/N: i'm so down bad for this man. possibly one of my most simple yet the most fun to write fics ever. i loved writing for cedric so expect a lottt more of that in the future!!! enjoy!
Cedric knew it was too good to be true when his midnight patrols were going a little too well.
It was eerily quiet in the castle, with Cedric producing the only sounds heard in the night. He hadn’t caught any students out of their dormitories tonight. A truly novel feat.
It wasn’t unusual for him to reprimand one or two lost first years nightly. Although, how they managed to be lost for two hours past curfew, he had no idea.
Partly surprised and partly pleased, he had made it all the way around the castle, on his way to the dungeons to finally call it a night. The soft rustling of his cloak against the stone floor soon came to a halt, however, when he heard a faint thud in the distance.
He exhaled deeply out of his nose before turning back the way he came to find the culprit. It really did seem too good to be true – and he was absolutely right. He would be catching a student tonight, after all.
He retraced his steps until he wasn’t even sure if he had actually heard anything or simply imagined the sound due to his recent lack of sleep. It certainly wouldn’t surprise him if it were the latter. He had a lot on his mind lately and while these midnight strolls usually seemed to clear his mind, they weren’t proving particularly helpful tonight.
Rubbing his sleepy eyes once, he decided that it really was too late tonight to chase a potentially imaginary student around the castle. He rounded a corner that he was pretty sure would lead him to the dungeons as you collided into his chest with a thud, dropping the contents of your hands.
“Shit!” you exclaimed as you bent down at once to recollect them all. The house elves were not going to be pleased to see you back at the kitchen doors for a second time tonight.
Finally overcoming his shock at encountering a strange girl with handfuls of biscuits, crisps and the occasional pastries, Cedric found his voice again. “Hey! It’s two hours past curfew. You’re not supposed to be here.”
“Pfft,” you excused his scolding without glancing up. “What are you going to do? Take five points from Ravenclaw? Go ahead. We’re too far ahead of every other house this year anyway.”
Cedric furrowed his brows as he blinked, taken aback and at a severe loss for words. Realization flooded his brain at once at your snarky remark and he exhaled again. Of course he had to run into you tonight, of all people.
You had earned quite a reputation in your year for your sharp tongue and even quicker wit. He couldn’t remember a single class in the past seven years of his Hogwarts career in which you hadn’t raised your hand politely to interrupt and correct whatever professor was giving the lecture. You had even done it to Snape a few times and Cedric had only been able to blink in stunned silence every time.
Though Cedric would never admit it, it was getting increasingly difficult to conceal the little crush he had developed on the pretty Ravenclaw girl that always had a clever quip on the tip of her tongue.
That very fact was evidenced by his odd behaviour tonight: he couldn’t help but remain standing awkwardly as he watched you gather your things on the cold stone floor, your hair illuminated by the moonlight pouring in through the castle windows and your robes impossibly ruffled after the collision.
As you finally turned your gaze upwards, standing back up and brushing your robe off, you raised your eyebrows in surprise. “Diggory?” You questioned in confusion.
“Er,” he began, trying his best to regain his composure. “Yes.” Cedric found himself thanking Merlin that you two were alone right now. His friends would never let him live this down if they were to see this. “What are you doing here, [Y/L/N]?”
“Couldn’t sleep,” you replied simply as your eyes roamed Cedric’s face. You had never seen him up close before, though all the girls in your year had made it a personal mission to do so at least once in their academic life. He was already impossibly dashing from afar but this was a different thing altogether. It was like he glowed.
“So you raided the kitchen?” he questioned as his lips tugged upwards slightly. He tried to ignore how his eyes seemed to catch on how you licked your lips as you thought of an answer or how your nose twitched at his attempt at humour.
“I couldn’t sleep and I was really hungry,” you amended with a quick roll of your eyes, which only made Cedric smile wider. He soon reigned it back, though. He really hoped you couldn’t see how hard he was trying to feign nonchalance. “I was just about to head back actually.” You clarified.
As you started to take a few steps forward, with your pile of snacks balanced haphazardly in your arms, a packet of crisps tumbled to the floor yet again, followed by multiple packets of cookies. You cast Cedric a sheepish look. Cedric cast you a thoroughly amused one.
With a fond smile still playing on his lips, he picked your snacks up from the floor, placing them back in your arms. It wasn’t long before they tumbled back to the floor. Cedric watched this with amusement, paying close attention at the huff you let out and the slight pout of your lips and the soft furrow in your brows and–
“Diggory?” You called expectantly.
He blinked a few times as you addressed him, his love-struck smile dropping altogether.  He wondered if he was supposed to know what to do at this moment. He opened his mouth to say something before closing it again.
You exhaled heavily. “Can you please walk me back? I can’t carry all this back myself and my wand is buried in my robe pockets.” You gestured to the fallen snacks on the floor. “Please?”
Cedric’s heart leaped at your request just as quickly as he bent down to pick your snacks up, giving you a small nod. “Yeah,” he finally let out. “Of course.”
He matched your pace as you two walked through the castle together, towards the Ravenclaw tower. It was, once again, eerily silent in the castle. Although, if someone were to ask Cedric, he’d complain of all the commotion his heart was making. He risked a few glances at you to make sure you couldn’t hear how loud it was beating.
“So,” he began, eager to fill the awkward silence but even more eager to be able to turn to look at you properly without it being weird. “Do you raid the kitchen often?”
“It isn’t raiding, per se,” you retort. “It’s requesting nicely and hoping the elves don’t say no.”
Cedric let out a small, breathy laugh. “Alright. Do you do that often?”
“Mainly when I can’t sleep,” you admit honestly, turning to look at him. “I’ve always found it easier to sleep after eating something.”
Cedric hummed in response. Merlin knew he needed all the tips he could get to help him sleep. With the first task of the Triwizard Tournament fast-approaching, he hadn’t been able to sleep a wink most nights. “I’ll have to give that a try then,” he mumbled under his breath.
A pause.
“Is it because of the Tournament?”
Cedric turned his head, then, to look at you at once. It was like you had read his mind. But then again, he found himself thinking, he was the Hogwarts champion. He reckoned most students knew who he was and what he had signed up for. Still though, if you were to look closely, you would’ve seen the faintest shade of pink coat the tips of his ears.
He hesitated before sighing. “Yeah,” he admitted. “I guess it is.”
“Still have no idea about the first task?” you asked sympathetically, holding his eyes the entire time. He found it particularly difficult to keep gazing into your eyes, though, so he cleared his throat as he looked down for a moment.
“No,” he replied. “I’ve got no clue.”
You nudged his shoulder lightly and Cedric was sure his brain had short-circuited at the contact. “You’ll be fine, I’m sure. I believe in you,” you shot him a quick smile and Cedric immediately felt his cheeks redden. He tried his best to hold your gaze as he smiled back but eventually resorted to studying the ground with a bashful smile on his face.
Upon your arrival to the spiral staircase that led to your common room, Cedric placed your snacks back in your arms and turned to bid you goodnight before you stopped him.
“You really should try it, you know,” you said before he could turn away to walk to the dungeons. “My sleeping method, I mean,” you handed him a packet of your favourite biscuits. “Here. They’re a personal favourite. Satisfaction guaranteed.” You winked as you turned to walk up the stairs.
With his cheeks aflame and his mouth gaping open, he knew he had to say something back. With all that he had in him at that moment, he tried his best to return to his normal, confident self instead of the flustered mess you always reduce him to.
“I’m holding you to that, then,” he called as he watched you ascend the stairs with slow steps. “Fifteen points from Ravenclaw if it doesn’t work.”
“That’s not going to hurt Ravenclaw’s chances at winning the house cup either, Diggory,” you laughed as you looked down at him. “And what if it does work?”
“Then the elves will have to make room for yet another student showing up at their door to ‘request nicely, hoping they don’t say no’ to stealing snacks from them every night.”
“I’ll let the elves know to make the arrangements, then,” you called as you slipped through the door finally, leaving a star-struck Cedric standing below. He turned the biscuit packet over in his hands before shaking his head fondly. He opened the packet at once, desperate to try the biscuits you were so fond of.
That night, when Cedric returned to his dormitory, stuffed full of the biscuits you’d gifted him, he slept soundly for the first time in two weeks.
It wasn’t a dreamless sleep, either. He dreamt of you all through the night.
–
It had been a week since he had learned what lay in store for him for the first task of the tournament. It had also been a week since he was last able to get a good night’s sleep – no matter how many chocolates he popped in his mouth.
Needless to say, over the past week, he also grew desperate to run into you again. Even more so than normal, which, admittedly, was already a hazardous amount.
He had tried paying the kitchen a visit every night since he first encountered you returning from it, but he never seemed to find you at the right time. There was a particular night on which he was so desperate that he actually resorted to asking an elf if you had visited that night. He’d worn a sheepish smile as the elf had only looked at him hesitantly before bidding him goodnight.
What Cedric had not been aware of, however, was that you had asked the same elf the exact same thing that same night. The elf was thoroughly confused, to say the least.
He was trying again tonight. He really needed to see you again tonight. You were the only person that could ease his nerves about the task tomorrow, while simultaneously making him flush with every little thing you said. It was like a drug.
He had arrived at the kitchen doors, raising his hand to knock before the door opened itself. He breathed a sigh of relief at the sight of you, once again laden with snacks that he was sure you already had a pile of under your bed.
“Diggory!” You exclaimed as your eyes lit up and Cedric tried to dismiss how his heart seemed to have skipped a beat. “Are you here to take fifteen points away from Ravenclaw?”
He chuckled at your question. “No,” he shook his head with a nervous smile. “Quite the contrary, actually. I’m ‘requesting nicely and hoping you don’t say no’ to me stealing those biscuits from you again.”
“Ah,” you nodded with amusement, handing him another packet of your favourites. “Satisfied customer, then?”
“Very,” he agreed, taking them. “Thank you.”
He took a deep breath to calm his nerves as he followed close behind you. Neither of you had to say anything to know that Cedric walking you back was part of the routine by now.
“Are you ready for the task tomorrow?” you asked, slowing a little so he could walk beside you through the winding hallways of the castle. You turned to study his face – the kind eyes, the worry lines on his forehead from, no doubt, worrying about the task, the golden locks that fell perfectly on his head despite it being so late.
“I hope so,” he sighed as he turned to look at you and shoot you a quick smile. He found – with much delight – that your presence had grown more so comforting than it was nerve wracking – and that was never something he ever thought he would be able to say.
“You are,” you affirmed with a nod. He breathed a laugh at how certain you were of what you were saying only to hide how full his heart really felt at the affirmation. “Do you know what it is yet?”
“Dragons,” he said simply. You waited for him to follow it up with a laugh to indicate he was joking before widening your eyes. “I know.” He half-smiled at your reaction. It had shocked him too.
“Wow,” you said as thoughts raced in your head. “What are you planning on doing?”
Cedric shifted uncomfortably at your question. He always prided himself on being brave, on being intelligent. Yet, somehow when it came to you, both of those thoughts dissolved into nothing. He had no idea if you would find his idea as ingenious as his friends did.
“I’ve always been quite good at Transfiguration,” he began slowly. “I was thinking of using that to my advantage. Perhaps if I transfigured a rock into – I dunno – a dog, maybe, then I could distract the dragon.”
He waited with bated breaths for you to say something. Your eyebrows were furrowed in thought as you analyzed his idea. “That’s brilliant, Cedric.” You said finally, with a thoughtful smile. It was certainly an inventive idea.
He couldn’t help but grin at your compliment, and his grin only grew as he realized you had used his first name. He loved how it sounded when it came from your mouth. “I trust I'll find you in the stands tomorrow, then?”
“I wouldn’t miss it for the world,” you grinned. You both halted as you arrived once again at the foot of the spiral staircase. You held his eyes for a second before leaning up on your toes to leave a small peck on his cheek. “For good luck,” you added cheekily, turning at once to climb the stairs.
Cedric blinked a few times in shock before bringing his hand up to his cheek, feeling the residual warmth of the kiss you had planted just seconds ago. He felt himself blush intensely as he watched you slip through the door into your common room. Only after you had vanished completely out of sight did he allow himself to break into a shit-eating grin.
He slept soundly that night once more, dreaming only of you, even when the threat of dragons loomed over his head.
Cedric knew he would be able to sleep just fine tonight if he went up to his dormitory. The roars of the party that was currently being held in the Hufflepuff common room wouldn’t even bother him. He had successfully completed the first task today, and he felt like he was on top of the world with his ornate golden egg.
Except, he could not stop thinking about you. He knew he needed to see you again.
He found himself smiling absentmindedly as he thought of you en route to the kitchen once again. He brought a hand to knock on the kitchen door excitedly, eager to see you again, to see what you had to say. He hadn't gotten a chance to talk to you at all today, despite spotting you in the stands immediately.
When an elf answered the door, he tried to dismiss how much his heart dropped. He was expecting to see you.
“Good evening,” he smiled politely to the elf. “I was wondering if you’ve seen [Y/N] tonight?”
“The Ravenclaw miss?” The elf frowned in confusion.
“Yes,” Cedric nodded with a fond smile playing on his lips. “Have you seen her tonight?”
The elf shook his head. “Not tonight, Mr. Diggory.”
He tried his best to mask his disappointment with a small smile. “I see. Thank you.”
He debated waiting outside the kitchen doors for you to turn up before deciding against it. That was probably a little creepy, right? Plus, seeing as the kitchens are right down the hallway from the Hufflepuff common room, he’d be running into too many of his friends in the meantime, anyway.
He knew that it had been a complete chance occurrence that night for him to run into you. It had allowed him to actually talk to you – beyond the curt words he’d exchanged with you in class. It allowed him to look at you as if he had all the time in the world – rather than stealing glances at you from the corner of his eye. It had allowed him to actually get to know you.
And, he found himself quickly realizing, chance events could only be relied on for gentle pushes in the right direction. In the end, he had to take his fate into his own hands. He had to grab his golden egg – he’d done it literally already. All he needed to do now was do it metaphorically.
He turned around and knocked for a second time on the kitchen door. When an elf answered the door – looking a little exasperated – Cedric wore his best apologetic smile.
“Can I get one of those biscuits, please? The ones the Ravenclaw miss likes?”
He set off at once towards your common room, with your favourite biscuits tucked in his arms.
He couldn’t wait for any more lucky run-ins with you anymore. He wanted to see you, and he was tired of waiting to run into you like he had on the previous two occasions.
“Padma!” He called as he spotted the fourth-year girl descending the spiral staircase.
“Yes?” She asked confusedly, unsure of what Cedric Diggory could possibly want from her at this hour.
“Is [Y/N] inside?” He asked. He knew how dishevelled he probably looked right now. After all, he had run from the other side of the school in the same uniform he had worn for the task this morning, with a bright blue packet of biscuits in hand. It wasn’t an ordinary sight.
Padma thought for a second, as if thinking back to remember every face she had seen on the way out of the common room. “I think so,” she concluded finally, remembering that she had seen you sprawled on a couch with a book in your lap.
“Can you get her for me, please?” He asked. Padma could sense the slight pleading tone in his voice as she gave him a quick nod and turned back to fetch you from inside the common room.
He looked around as she disappeared inside, trying to calm his beating heart for the second time that day. Somehow he’d successfully stolen the egg from right under the dragon’s nose – literally – today yet he found himself more nervous while waiting for you.
He knew the implications it carried, to ask for someone and wait outside their common room like this. You were bound to know now how he felt about you, how much he enjoyed being around you. He ran a hand through his hair quickly and tried to smooth out the honey-coloured top he was wearing before he heard you from the top of the stairs.
“Cedric!” you beamed as you spotted his familiar head of hair. You climbed down the stairs with a grin on your face and Cedric’s heart seemed to beat impossibly faster the longer he looked at you. He could never get enough of you saying his name like that. “I almost didn’t recognize you without that Swedish Short-Snout beside you.”
Cedric sent you a wry smile as you came to a stop in front of him. “I almost didn’t recognize you without all the food in your arms,” he retorted with newfound confidence.
“Is that why you have that?” you questioned with a raise of your eyebrows, gesturing towards the biscuits Cedric had long forgotten about.
“Oh,” he blinked. “Yes, um, they’re for you.” He held the packet out towards you with an attempted smile he really hoped was coming across as charming. It was hard to ignore the butterflies in your own stomach at the sight.
“Thanks,” your fingers brushed his and you almost chuckled at how quickly his cheeks flushed with an all-too-familiar red tinge. “Want me to walk you back?”
He raised a single eyebrow at your question before you added with a light nudge to his shoulder, “Evening strolls are customary at this point, right?”
He breathed a laugh at your remark – like he often found himself doing. He didn’t have it in him to protest. He wanted – no, needed – to spend every possible moment he could with you. The euphoria of this night was bound to wear off soon, he knew that. Tomorrow, he had to start worrying about the second task again. But walking with you, just as he had on that first night, always made his problems seem insignificant. And he needed that right now.
“So, what’s the deal with the golden egg?” you asked, reading his mind once again. He shook his head slightly in disbelief as a small smile crept to his face.
“No clue,” he answered honestly. “They make the most horrid shrieking sound whenever I try to open it. I’ve got no idea what it means.”
You hummed in response. “I could help you figure it out.”
Cedric sputtered, taken aback at your offer. Even his friends hadn’t offered to help him figure it out. “I would love that.” He told you gratefully, watching you closely for any signs of hesitation on your features. All he saw was genuinity.
“Tomorrow in the library, then? After supper?” You asked with a small smile. It was so endearing to watch his ears and cheeks redden.
“Yeah,” he breathed out quickly. “Tomorrow sounds great.” He couldn’t believe how he was still able to talk in coherent sentences.
“It’s a date, then,” you uttered with a sly smirk, holding his gaze.
He almost fell on his face, right then and there. Cedric thanked Merlin, then, for you two had finally reached the entrance to his common room, both of you coming to a halt. He wasn't sure if he would be able to walk after what you had just said. He blinked at you blankly before finding his voice. “Yes. Yes, it’s a date.”
You turned to leave with amused eyes at the boy’s reaction. Could he get any cuter?
Cedric had no idea what had possessed him. He hadn’t even had any firewhisky that night. But he found himself calling out to you anyway.
“Wait!” he called, making you turn around at once. Your curious eyes met his nervous ones and he walked closer to you. He had no idea what he was doing, but somehow the after-effects of all the adrenaline pumping through his body earlier today could still be felt twelve hours later. “I never got to thank you properly for your well wishes last night.”
“Oh?” you raised an eyebrow, your lips tugging upwards.
You tried to hide the absolute shock you felt when he leaned down to peck your cheek quickly. “As a thank you,” he clarified quickly. He watched carefully for your reaction, unsure if he should’ve done that or not.
It was safe to say you didn’t exactly mind.
Before he knew it, you were leaning up to press a chaste peck to his lips. He breathed in sharply as you pulled back to smirk at him. You had always been a competitive one.
“To congratulate you once again on your feat today,” you clarified wryly, watching him for any reaction so as to make sure you hadn’t overstepped.
It was safe to say you hadn’t.
Cedric didn’t take a moment to think before acting this time. He didn’t take a moment to gather his courage or analyze the best course of action. He acted on instinct, and instinct alone. And every instinct in his body was telling him to lean down again and crash his lips onto yours – properly this time.
So he did.
Cedric took his time kissing you with furrowed brows. The biscuits you so loved didn’t even come close to you. You tasted sweeter than any biscuit he’d ever had, any dessert that he’d ever tasted. He was sure that he could get addicted to the taste, to the feel. It wouldn’t really surprise him – he was already addicted to your presence.
You kissed him back with the same urgency, your hands wrapping around his neck to bring him even closer.
Pulling away slowly, he teased against your lips, “To thank you again for your heartiest congratulations.”
Your quip died on your tongue as cheers and whoops broke out in the background, forcing you two to break apart suddenly. You both turned to find Cedric’s friends watching this encounter with excited smiles and boyish eyes, standing in front of the entrance to the common room. Cedric’s mouth hung open a little as he wondered how he had missed them standing there. But then again, he had been a little preoccupied for the past minute or so.
“Atta boy, Diggory!” Trevor whooped, teasing him as you tried to smother a bashful smile of your own.
“Oh, sod off, Woods,” Cedric retorted with exasperation. “Go back inside, would you? I’m– I’m busy.”
“Oh,” Fairfield spoke up. “We can see just how busy you are, champ, not to worry.” Roars of laughter and whistles broke out again. “Come on, lads, we’ll bug him about it when he comes inside.”
“If he comes back inside at all tonight, that is!” More laughter.
Cedric cast a weak stinging hex at no one in particular as his friends all clambered back inside their common room. He turned to face you at once, possibly to apologize but you beat him to it.
“Here,” you told him with a knowing smirk, handing back the packet of biscuits. “I think you might be needing these more than I will tonight, champ.”
And, Merlin, you were right. He didn’t sleep a wink in his rowdy dormitory that night. Not that he minded though – thinking about all the real aspects of you that he had gotten to experience that night were even better than the dreams.

You slightly nuzzled into Cedric's neck, slowly loosing you attention span as he went on rambling about his day and quidditch practice. It'd been a long cuddling session after school, a part of your daily routine with Cedric. Today's felt different, something lingered in the air around him, wanting more than to just be by him.
Without a second thought, you cupped his face gently, tilting his jaw to your face and closing the gap by connecting your lips.
He quickly was cut off from his rambling thoughts, now putting an arm around you as he pulled you in by your waist. Dating for a year had always been great, and more than healthy between you two-but you'd never done anything further than making out. Cedric understood you not wanting to rush, and to take things at a comfortable pace.
Now, the kiss was more than heated. your hands slid down his shirt, gently carresing his abs. before it could go further, he slowly pulled away, admiring you with glossy eyes.
"y/n.. I don't want to rush you or-" he was hesitant before you continued smashing his lips onto yours, cutting him off.
"I-i want this now ced, i trust you please.." you placed soft kisses across his jawline, a new and daring move for you.
"are you really sure though love?" he questioned, gently placing kisses across your forehead.
"yea," you nodded shyly, "i only want it to be you".
he gave in, slowly roaming his hands across your body, slowly leaning in capturing your lips, which were now both moving in sync.
he pulled away slowly, going down your neck, sucking gently leaving a small red ring around it. your cheeks slightly became flushed, in nervousness and excitement.
his hands move towards the hem of your shirt, unclasping your bra, discarding everything on the floor.
your hands naturally covered them, you cheeks began heating as you were now exposed for the first time around him.
"fuck baby- so beautiful f'me", "don't need to cover them, 's beautiful" he kissed your lips gently, continuing placing kisses down your breasts, sucking against them lightly while his other hand massages your other one.
"ced, just like that- feels so g-good" you giggle in between your moan, interlocking your hand across his messy hair.
he unlatched his mouth from your tit, pumping his cock that was causing a tent in his boxers, slowly revealing it leaking with precum.
he lets out throaty groans at the feeling of pumping his cock a few times before lining it at your entrance earning a gasp from you. you both felt connected, a new high of a feeling roamed throughout your body.
you dug your nails into his shoulders, nuzzling your face in his neck, shyly covering yourself.
"you alright baby?" he questioned, softly rubbing circles around your back.
"n-no ced don't stop please", you continued, shutting your eyes taking a breath.
"fuck, y'so beautiful baby, feels so good" he groaned.
he slowly let you adjust, groaning at the feeling of you walls clenching around him. you threw your head back in pleasure, as his cock pumped in and out slamming along your walls over again, making you mumble his name into his neck.
"ced-ced, feels so good" you moaned softly at the knot forming in your stomach, scratching his back firmly as he praised and placed kisses across your jawline.
"fuck baby- so tight fuck-" he groaned in your neck, pulsing his cock deeper inside you every second.
you suddenly screamed his name louder, almost louder than expected, him hitting your g-spot repeatedly.
"let it out baby, go ahead love" he circled your clit in eight figures, making your body shiver from the waves of pleasure.
you hid your face in his neck as you rode out your high with each other, his thrusts becoming sloppier as you felt his lips trembling.
"you're so beautiful baby, can't believe I have you all to myself love", he smashed his lips to yours, his cock trembling as it twitches inside you.
he slowly rested his head on your shoulder, panting softly coming down from his high, gently laying on top across your body.
"you alright love?' he smiles widely, gazing at you with soft eyes.
"y-yea ced, just really happy that you're my first" you reconnected your lips with his, interlocking arms before slowly falling to a deep sleep.

"my white dress is getting wet, and your lips taste like vanilla..."
.
the heat was ruining you all summer.
bright rays the sun sent out through the window of the diggorys home blinding you as you slip your white summer dress on
the heat didn't even creep up on you as sweat stayed put on your pores and your face gave a sheen
as you made your way downstairs and heard pots and pans shifting, remembering the fact that you were going over to the Weasleys for lunch, making your way to the kitchen you saw Mrs.Diggory taking that opportunity as she washed the dishes
you leaned your head against the doorway and closed your eyes and let the cold fan run over you, just for a colder hand to be placed on your shoulder.
you melted into it as your eyes dizzily opened to see Cedric. he grinned, leaning down to kiss you as his mom scolded him
"help me out with these dishes, Ced." she sighed, wiping her hands on a rag as Cedric moved towards the sink without hesitation
"So.." you start,
"Do the Weasleys have a pool by any chance?" you question, slightly begging for a yes, jumping into cold water sounds like a dream right now.
you got a sympathetic smile from Cedrics' mother as she shook her head
"afraid not, but there's a lake close to their home...sure that's about as hot as the air though."
you almost winced at her answer, closing your eyes again as the sticky heat molded to your body
"Is it..." you heard Cedrics voice question, your eyes shot open and saw his squinting in front of the kitchen window above the sink
"raining?"
you gasped, running over to him as you poked your head to see for yourself. blue sky foggy and the grass lush as rain sprinkled everywhere, you let a surprised laugh escape your lips and rushed outside with Cedrics' hand in yours
you giggled when the warm rain met your skin, the humidity dying down as the thin rain coated you and the sky was no longer golden but a deep blue
you ran in the slippery rain as it relished in the drink just as much as you did, you turned to pull Cedric closer as the grin never left both of your lips
you moved to lock your lips together as the taste of vanilla flooded your tongue, your fingers slid easily on his hair to bring him closer as the summer blessed you with rain.

Cedric Diggory as a boyfriend 🏆🦡
Tumblr media
⋆ ˚。 ⋆୨sweetpandorabox୧⋆ ˚。 ⋆
⋘ 𝑙𝑜𝑎𝑑𝑖𝑛𝑔𝑑𝑎𝑡𝑎…⋙
Warnings ⚠️: Slight mentioned of sexual themes and some spicy stuff.
Dating this sweet, kind, and handsome Triwizard champion could include:
🪦 💛 👨🏻
Cedric is a true definition of a gentleman, he undoubtedly has that chivalry touch about him, he's polite, honest, and kind. He would put your jacket around you as soon as he noticed you shivering even just a little, offer you his arm when you're about to walk somewhere, hold a door open for you, kisses you on the forehead, kisses your hand when the both of you have to part ways and never lets you pay a cent during a date that requires paying, because he enjoys paying for you and never wants anything in return. The affection of kisses, hugs and more means the world to him.
He calls you cute nicknames like Angel, Heaven, My World, or Sweetheart.
Likes when you call him Ced, Darling, Love, Handsome, or Teddy (It's an inside joke between the two of you that Cedric is as soft and kind-looking as a teddy bear, so you kept it going with that nickname).
His love language is probably words of affirmation, he's really good at expressing his love for you through words, he mentions how much he loves you often, and he compliments you anytime he gets the chance but most of all he's always affirmed you that no matter how many people might be interested in him weather that's about his popularity, looks or personality, he'll never leave you ever and that no one can ever replace nor even come close to you. That he couldn't love a human any more than he loves you.
He likes writing your name on all your subject's books for you but instead of your family's last name, he puts down his instead so every book you own says "This book belongs to Y/N Diggory" which drives your friends crazy with excitement, even professor McGonagall was sure you'd marry him one day.
He would take you out every Sunday morning to madame Puddifoot's tea shop for some tea, with sugar and milk just how you like it, while Cedric makes it a habit to make paper rings out of the tissues provided on each table for customers, then he'd take your left-hand kisses it and put the ring on you ring finger before saying "One day It'll be a real ring that shines and glimmer the way your eyes do when it hits the sun", that line never fails to make you smile and blush, so you smile at him kindly while he returns it sipping your tea away.
You have to get on your tippy toes to kiss him because he's built like a tree which never fails to make him laugh and smile at how adorable you are, but you'd pout every time he laughs at you so in return he lowers himself to your level and says "go on" then you would smile and ruffle his hair as messy as you can which leave the both of you to laugh and blush.
He uses his prefect power to go out after hours, his excuse is that he's patrolling around the castle before bed and sneak you up to the astronomy tower when there's no class available and stargaze there, then he'd ramble about all the stars that he knows about which you find really interesting and amusing.
He's the best at giving advice about anything and you've always taken it without hesitation because his advice has worked in your favor every time, he just seems to know what's best for you always.
Him chasing you all over the place to give him a hug after Hufflepuff's quidditch practice when he's all sweaty, smelly, and sticky.
When it comes to sex he's very gentle with you making sure to put you first before himself and a praiser too, despite how much you drive him crazy with lust because of how attractive you are to him, so it's mostly slow, passionate sex but when he's in the mood to just please you, he gets you to sit on his lap while he fingers you, touch your breast and kiss your neck and shoulder as you moan in pleasure. (😫).
He loves the sight of you walking towards the great hall for breakfast on the weekend after you've just woken up with his jumper on, slightly messy hair, sweats, and slippers on, what makes it better is the way you greet him good morning with your sleepy voice and a kiss to top it all off never fails to make him smile brightly and blush too.
He likes watching you sleep, he finds you to look so peaceful and effortlessly gorgeous doing nothing but breathing easy while closing your eyes, dreaming away about something good he hopes.
Despite him being sweet and patient most of the time with you, he's not afraid to argue back if he finds you to be too stubborn about something.
Shows you off proudly in front of anyone and everyone he could, talk about you often, mention how lucky he is to have you in his life and how he could never survive with you, not now not ever at this point.
Writes you cute yet unexpected love letters, notes, and paper balls with doodles of the two of you together, and no matter how many he makes/sends you've managed to keep and saved them all, which Cedric doesn't know about and by now you'd have thousands of letters, notes and paper balls filled with doodles made by him.
He smiles a lot around you and is the type of person who makes good eye contact even if he doesn't like that person that way in general.
Amos and Mrs. Diggory loves having you around their house and would often invite your whole family to join/celebrate things like Christmas for example in their home, just hoping that you and Cedric will be married together one day and untie both of your families into one big and beautiful one.
He lets you dress him up in your clothes for fun, put makeup on him, and even tie his hair into a short ponytail. He puts up with it all just to see you laugh your nose off, as long as you're happy he's happy too.
Whenever you achieve something big and you'd tell him excitedly he picks you up in the air and spins you around laughing with you and saying "I'm so proud of you my sweetheart" with a huge smile on his face before putting you down and giving you a passionate kiss.

Endgame Couples in Harry Potter that I often wonder about - rambles and questions
Tumblr media
Angelina Johnson & George Weasley:
Angelina eventually marries her late boyfriend's brother?
I'm curious as to how that even happens. What's the thought process behind that for her? What about how George feels about it?
Like- girl ended up with her dead boyfriend minus one ear and half of his livelihood gone...
Don't get me wrong, George definitely deserves a great life and future...
But also, (for George) how do you date your dead brother's girlfriend in the first place?
Idk the only real "solution" is that they helped each other through the grieving process of Fred's death???
Tumblr media
Bill Weasley & Fleur Delacour
I can't say I'm well versed in the details of their relationship but... it's definitely interesting.
They definitely have relationship goals moments:
They met by chance: at Gringotts as coworkers
Fought alongside each other during the war
THE WEDDING
But also...
Bill caught Fleur's eye when she was in the Triwizard Tournament: Fleur was 17 Bill was 24 💀💀
How'd that even happen????
Like- whaaaat?
That means that Bill was 18 when Fleur was just starting school at Beauxbatons (which I assume was when she was 11)...
I mean- in hindsight, it's not that bad... but I wish we got more or a build up yk?
Like- Charlie was literally working at the Triwizard Tournament because of the Dragons... how did she not meet him first?
Tumblr media
Ginny Weasley & Harry Potter
No. They had an amazing setup, but no.
It's like dating your younger sister.
There was also no buildup, chemistry, or reason.
I also thought the saving Ginny from Tom Riddle was supposed to be a nod at the "Handsome Prince saves the Damsel in Distress" trope... yeah no.
Also, Ginny literally disappears and has no relevance/importance to the stories after that, only becoming relevant when she started dating Dean Thomas (which I personally thought was cute) and Harry suddenly realized that he was in love with her all of a sudden. There's no buildup, and they had no chemistry in the supposed romantic scenes...
They honestly just did Ginny dirty....
Tumblr media
Nymphadora Tonks & Remus Lupin
Ouch. This made me cry.
Ok I get that the 13 year difference is a bit odd... but to some degree it makes sense:
Remember that Tonks' mother married for love, even if it was out of the norm. Tonks is literally continuing the legacy lol
Lupin and Tonks were both outcasts, they relate to each other and appreciate their uniqueness
Anyway, their sacrifice was brutal but also devastatingly beautiful

Around 10 o’clock, the Slytherin prefects called “lights out”, sending everyone to bed before their last round of hall sweeps. I didn’t want to go back to my dorm, afraid Samatha would be there with the two drones that followed her around, ready to deliver the meanest insults. I hesitantly stood from my spot in the armchair and walked back to my dorm. To my surprise, Samatha and her friends had yet to show.
I assumed they would soon make their way back, considering the prefects would catch them if they didn’t. The short time that I had alone felt so peaceful. Closing the door, behind me, I stood at the entrance, taking note of the room around me. I noticed that one of the bedding was scrunched up and sunken in, meaning someone had placed something somewhat large on the bed or someone was sitting on it. One of the girls left their trunk with some type of clothing hanging out of it, keeping it from closing properly.
I moved away from the door and toward my bed, where I noticed a small banner above my bed. In some sort of black ink, it wrote: “Losers Sleep Here”. I huffed, snatching the banner off the canopy railing. I glared down at the sign, irritated by the constant bullying that I was forced to endure.
I moved over to the chest that was left slightly ajar and opened it. Inside were several very expensive pieces of clothing and accessories, along with a few photos of a young girl with an older male figure. The two looked happy in the photos. The more I looked at the photo the more I realized that the little girl looked an awful lot like Samantha.
Something quite familiar washed over me as I stared down at the picture. It was the same feeling that came to me whenever I saw people having a good old time with their families. Seeing Samantha with her father, all happy like that, awoke a sense of jealousy within me because it was something that I would never get to have. Something that I yearned for, and only recently began to receive. I would never get the time without my father back, and it was something that I had to learn to understand.
I thought about setting some of Samatha’s stuff on fire as payback for constantly being picked on for 6 years, but then I thought about the relationship that I had with my father. Would he really want me to destroy a girl’s things, just because she called me a few names? I imagined my father standing in front of me with a disappointed look on his face. A look I wished to never see on his face.
I clenched the photo in my hand as my head rolled back. I loudly sighed, looking up at the ceiling before properly closing the trunk. I stood from my spot and began to get ready for bed. I threw on some green silk pajamas that had little golden tigers on them that my father got me over the summer. I liked them- not just for the feel of them, but also because they matched my Patronus.
As soon as I was “ready for bed” I quickly shut off the lights and climbed into the large canopy bed. The door creaked open and all that was heard was Samatha’s high-pitched whines as she babbled on to her friends. My eye’s slammed shut as one of the girls turned the bright lights on. My eyelids naturally blinked, whilst still shut, from the brightness of the lights.
The girls continued to talk to each other before they noticed the lump in my bed. “Looks like Black’s already asleep,” Carly, one of Samantha’s friends spoke, making the other girls turn their heads. I tried my best not to fidget while the feeling of their beady eyes was still present.
I kept my eyes clamped shut, hoping my eyes wouldn’t twitch so much. The feeling of something poking me in my shoulder a few times made it very difficult to continue my facade, but I stayed strong. I kept my sleep-like composure, convincing whoever was next to me that I really was asleep, even if I wasn’t.
Samatha’s voice sounded right next to me. “Fast asleep,” She said with a scoff. I could practically hear the smug grin creep onto her face. “Looks like when you have no friends, all you can do is sleep.” She laughed and her friends joined in.
I cringed internally at the insult. I wanted to correct her, but that would blow my cover. I have friends. It’s just that my social group isn’t all that big. It consisted mostly of Cedric, but I have begun something of a friendship with the golden trio. My mind slowly moved back onto Cedric as my eyelids began to feel heavy. The thought of Cedric being more than a friend rushed through my head. And soon, I was asleep.
Tumblr media
I awoke to something a lot more comfortable than the thing I fell asleep on. My eyes blinked open as my eyes adjusted to the bright light blaring in my eyes. “What?” I softly spoke. Everything around me was unfamiliar to me. I was in a large, comfortable bed wrapped in soft grey and yellow bedding. The room around me was lined with plush carpet and cream-coated walls.
Next to me sat a nightstand. On the nightstand was an unlit candle lamp, a vase filled with vibrant colored flowers, and a photo frame with a motion photo of Cedric and I on our- ‘Huh?’ -On our wedding day.
I attempted to move out of my lying position, only to be halted by a tight grip around my waist. I looked down seeing an arm wrapped around me. I followed the arm to find none other than Cedric lying in the bed right next to me. He slept peacefully letting out quiet snores as he pulled me closer to him. My back pressed up against his naked chest, and his face fell into the crack of my neck.
I tried to move once more, but once again, Cedric’s arm stopped me from moving. I smiled at the boy’s actions until I no longer heard the snores. ‘He’s awake’ I said to myself. The smile I once wore had drifted away, as I stared wide-eyed at the wall in front of me. A small moan left the boy’s mouth, tickling my neck. My heart stopped as I heard the boy’s groggy voice as he moved his head out of my neck. “Where do you think you’re going, love?” Cedric asked playfully, now slightly hovering above me. He wore a sleepy grin that caused butterflies to erupt in my stomach.
“I-”
I was speechless. I didn’t know what to say, nor did I know where to look. My line of sight drifted from the Hufflepuff’s bright gray eyes and onto his bare chest. Cedric was in really nice shape from what I remembered. I wanted to touch him, but it felt wrong.
Two fingers made their way to my chin, lifting it to sit parallel to Cedric’s. He chuckled, “How are you always so pretty in the morning? It’s hard to believe that I’m married to a goddess like yourself.” My cheeks gave off a cherry-red blush as I tried to look away from the handsome man in front of me, but Cedric wouldn’t allow me to look away.
Nothing felt natural about all of this. I knew that this was a dream. Cedric would never say these things to me… Not in the real world. He was oblivious to how I felt, and I was fine with keeping it that way. Did I like it? No. But if it kept our long-lasting friendship from ending, I would be completely fine with it.
“You’re just as beautiful as you were the day I first met you,” He whispered, moving slightly closer to my face. His eyes toggled between my eyes and my lips as he continued to move closer. We were only centimeters away from each other when he stopped. “I love you, Y/N,” he said with a loving smile, and my world stopped. My body tensed up and suddenly the basic task of breathing became a challenge.
“Can you say that again?” I asked, tantalized by the man above me.
He let out a soft laugh. “I love y-”
“CEDRIC!” I yelled out, now awake from the forbidden fantasy that I had just experienced. Realizing what just happened, I looked around the room, noticing that I was back in my dorm. The lights were out, the only light being from the large window where the moonlight hit the lake’s waters, and all 3 girls were asleep in their respective beds.
I was still riled up from the dream, so I tried taking deep breaths to calm myself down. I closed my eyes and rolled my head back to face the ceiling before rolling it forward to face the floor. I did this a few more times, along with the deep breathing, before my body began to relax, and my breathing became normal again.
I looked over at the small alarm clock on my bedside table. The time was 11:45. It was almost time to meet up with Cedric. I slid out of my bed, causing a small thud from my feet hitting the floor. I shuffled over to my trunk, finding my hoodie, and using it to cover myself. I placed my wand in my hoodie pocket and began on my mission.
Tumblr media
The walk through the school was surprisingly easy, having yet to run into any prefects, head boys/girls, or professors. I entered the central hall, which was kind of dark since it didn’t have any windows, but there were still dim lights that brightened the area. I quickly moved through the room, getting closer to my checkpoint, when all of a sudden, I began to hear footsteps behind me.
I quickly used the disillusionment charm, hiding behind a suit of armor, for safekeeping. The footsteps got louder, and when whoever it was finally made it to the room I was in, I saw the familiar brown head of hair in black and yellow robes I had seen for years. I revealed myself to the Hufflepuff.
“Cedric.”
The Hufflepuff jumped slightly and turned around. I let out an amused giggle, seeing the surprised look the boy was giving me. He must have been on his way to the black lake because that was where he told me to meet him. He began to step closer to me, sporting that same loving smile that he gave in my dream.
“Y/N?” Cedric asked. “I was just about to meet you at the lake.”
“Yeah, I was too, but I thought you may have been another prefect or a professor,” I claimed.
Cedric let out a soft laugh. I meticulously stared at his beautiful smile, studying every part of his lips. Cedric smiled pretty often, mostly because he hung around people who could make him laugh, but something was different today. Maybe it was because we were finally alone together. Or maybe it had to do with the mind-boggling dream I just had about him. I took a mental picture of the image before pulling myself back into our conversation.
“I’m glad you weren’t caught,” Cedric said with an amused grin.
“Me too. I’m glad it was I who caught you,” I teased.
There was a pause between us. We both just stared at each other until I began to fidget in my spot. “Well, shall we get going then?” I suggested, awkwardly using my hand to motion toward the door. Cedric nodded before looping his arm with mine. I tightened his hold, not wanting to ever let go of the young Hufflepuff, but he didn’t seem to notice, or he at least wasn’t showing it.
We continued our walk making small talk until we got to the lake. Our conversation stopped when we made it to our destination. We stood at a slight distance from the lake, arms still looped together, as we stared out at the moonlit lake. It was beautiful, and to be here with Cedric, at night and along, was truly a dream come true.
Cedric let go of the hold he had on my arm as he invited me to join him on the dirt-filled floor. When I felt my bottom hit the sandy floor, I looked over at Cedric to see him already looking at me. I felt a blush appear on my cheeks that the moonlight just had to place on a spotlight.
“I like your pajama shorts. Are those tigers?” He asked with a small laugh.
Somehow, my cheeks tinted a darker redder when he said that, and I felt my heart begin to pound hard, in my chest. I looked down at the pajama shorts I put on earlier, letting out a small, “Thank you.”
“So, why did you call me here? I know you said you had news.”
“Straight to the point. Okay.” He clicked his tongue. “I’m thinking about signing up for the Triwizard Tournament.”
My heart stopped pounding in my chest and suddenly dropped. I frowned at the thought of Cedric as a Triwizard contestant. It was a dangerous game to play… Literally. It had been banned by the ministry for centuries, and now Cedric just wants to participate like it’s a game of quidditch. My body went rigid at the thought.
“What?” I asked, nervously biting my lip
“I want to participate in the Triwizard Tournament,” He spoke slowly, this time.
I remained silent as my teeth sank deeper into my lip. A metallic taste flooded my taste buds.
‘Did he understand the risks? Did he even care? What could possibly possess him to want to do something like this?’ My mind was bombarded with question after question.
This tournament was banned for there being too many deaths. I couldn’t lose Cedric if he chose to go through with this. But Cedric was smart. I knew that I wasn’t giving him credit for the amazing things he could do, nor was I giving him a chance to prove himself, but I couldn’t just look past the traumatizing images of Cedric dead in my head.
“Remember me saying that my father was acting all buggy this morning. I think this is why. He works in the ministry. He must have heard about this earlier and that was his way of telling me without spoiling it,” Cedric said, beaming.
Me on the other hand, well I was scared. I shook my head and looked back up at Cedric, showing him the long frown that I wore. His smile quickly shifted as he studied my face.
“You’re not happy. Do you not want this for me?”
“Is it bad to say no?” I grimace.
Cedric scoffed in disbelief. He turned away from me while angrily licking his lips. “How could you say that? You’re my best friend. You should be happy for me,” he spoke. He looked down as he spoke, keeping his voice low. The pain and anger radiated off of him.
It hurt to see Cedric this upset with me. It was something I had never wished to do since the day I met him. Cedric’s always been there for me. He expressed his support for me even when no one else believed in me. I could only imagine the amount of betrayal he was feeling right now.
I let out a shaky breath, scared to see what would happen next. I attempted to meet Ced’s eye, but he was too upset to even look at me. His gaze was set on the ground, and his jaw continuously clenched and unclenched. It looked like he was thinking.
“Ced…” I attempted to speak, but immediately paused, not wanting to say something I would regret later.
I looked down at the now sandy pajamas that I decided to wear. A slight breeze moved through the air causing me to shiver. On a normal day, Cedric wouldn’t hesitate to offer me something to give me warmth, but at this moment, he could care less if I was cold or not.
“The Triwizard Tournament is dangerous. I don’t want you to do something that could possibly hurt you, or worse… get you killed. You tend to do things that please your father, and I can’t let you do something this reckless if this isn’t for you. So let me ask you- Is this something you truly want to do, or is this Amos Diggory speaking?”
Cedric scoffed at my words, clearly offended by them. He stood from his spot and mumbled a low, “Goodnight, Y/N.”
“No, Cedric. Wait!” I quickly stood from my seated position and moved to grab his robe sleeve. He spun around, livid. He stood tall, glaring down at me with the most ferocious eyes I had ever seen on a person. I cowardly stood in my, letting go of the boy’s sleeve. I heard a small whimper leave my lips as I looked up at Cedric. Nervously, I said, “I just want what’s best for you… I lost my father for 13 years of my life. I can’t lose you to something as dumb as dying for a trophy in a deadly race.”
“Well, you just did,” he seethed before dramatically turning away from me and storming off. Normally, I would have laughed at the Professor Snape-like exit, but I was too upset to joke around. The tears that I had tried so hard to keep in began to rush out of my eyes. I looked up at the night sky, just as a shooting star flew through the sky. I simply closed my eyes and took a deep breath, wishing for the safety of my friend.
When my eyes fluttered open, I was still at the lake… alone. Was honesty really the right go-to? I didn’t know. I thought that maybe hearing honest feedback from a friend would ease the pain, but instead, it just made things worse. I had lost a friend. But I kept my head up and hoped that Cedric would come to his senses and realize that I was only looking out for him.

The next day, I woke up and started my day like any other school day. I washed up a bit before getting dressed in my Slytherin uniform. After gathering everything I would need for today’s classes, I began making my way to the Great Hall for breakfast.
I walked through the halls quietly. Groups of friends talked to each other, all while either walking or pushing past me. I paid them no mind and continued to my desired destination.
When I got to the Great Hall, my eyes immediately went to the Hufflepuff table. There Cedric sat playfully laughing and eating with his friends. My jaw clenched and my hands balled up into fists as a wave of jealousy washed through me. I ignored it, knowing that maybe this was good for the Hufflepuff. Hanging around others who didn’t constantly remind him of the girl who broke his heart, was his way of taking his mind off things.
I began to make my way to the Slytherin table before I heard someone yell my name, behind me. I turned, looking for the owner of the voice to see Harry sitting with Ron, Hermione, and all the other Gryffindors. They smiled, waving me over to their table. Reluctantly, I went over there with a false smile on my face.
“Hello, Y/N. I didn’t see you at all yesterday. I wanted to see how your summer was,” Harry said casually. I joined the group at the table, not placing my entire body on the inside of the table.
I nodded at the boy. “It was good. Father and I had 13 years to catch up on. You would think that even with the loss of time together, your dad would know that you’re too old for clown pancakes, dolls, and hide-n-seek,” I laughed.
The memory of my father waking me up as the sun was still rising, ran through my head. The bright smile on his face was vivid in my mind as he happily began to blindfold me. He led me down the steps of the Black family house, and into the kitchen. When he took the blindfold off, I remember being ecstatic to find my surprise… that was until I saw that it was everything that I had enjoyed before he was sent to Azkaban. It was hard reminding him that I was now a 17-year-old girl. That I was soon to be out of Hogwarts and working as a young woman.
When I told him, he was a little disappointed, but he understood, saying that, “It’s hard knowing that I missed so much of you growing into the magnificent girl standing in front of me, today. It’s a nightmare for every father to see their little girl grow up.” I felt bad for my father, but he was quick to stop me, telling me that we would somehow catch up on everything in the past 13 years. I’m not gonna lie. I had the best time of my life with my father. It was everything I wished for.
“How was the quidditch world cup? I heard the Weasleys invited you out. Must have been nice to get away from those pesky Dursleys, huh?” I asked, giving the boy a smirk. He laughed at my facial expression and began to speak again. “Oh, it definitely was nice to get away. Even if it was ruined by death eaters. But I met Cedric,” Harry said taking a bite of his food.
“Really?” I asked, looking up, to face the Hufflepuff table once more. Cedric sat there staring at me with hurt eyes before turning back around in his seat. I continued to stare and Harry continued to speak. “Yeah. He seemed nice if you ask me. The twins didn’t like him. I think they’re still upset about the quidditch match from last year…” He paused, taking a bite of his porridge. When he started to speak again, he spoke with his mouth full, quickly saying, “He couldn’t stop talking about you,” before immediately shutting his mouth once more. He swallowed and said, “I was surprised he even knew you.”
“Yeah, what is he? Your boyfriend?” Ron teased mockingly, with a goofy grin on his face. His mouth was full of breakfast pastries as Hermione smacked the boy upside the head so hard that I could hear the slap from my seat. I laughed as I watched Ron’s hand drop the food he was holding to comfort his sore spot. “Bloody hell,” he moaned. He sent the younger girl a brief glare before receiving a nudge from her. The boy stopped all jokes, going back to his food.
“Cedric seems like a nice boy, Y/N. I’m glad that you have someone like that in your life,” Hermione smiled. I frowned remembering what went down less than 12 hours ago.
I felt as if someone was watching me from afar, so I looked up to see Cedric once more, looking my way. His face was blank, but if you looked close enough, you would see the sadness in his eyes. I sent him a small wave, but Cedric didn’t care for it. He just looked away. My face dropped completely as I let out a shaky breath. I hadn’t realized that the golden trio had also seen this interaction, looking at each other with sad looks before focusing on me.
“Did something happen?” Harry asked. The boy gave me a concerned look, but I looked away not wanting to talk about what happened.
“I don’t want to talk about it,” I mumbled loud enough for Harry to hear. His face sunk, seeing my sad expression. He placed his hand on top of mine, attempting to comfort me, but it didn’t give me much comfort. My mind had yet to let go of the fact that my oldest friend was no longer my friend.
The four of us all went quiet, creating a very tense and uncomfortable environment around us. I stayed in my spot, staring into an open space, for about 2 more minutes before standing. I bid the trio goodbye before storming out of the large room.
I cried as I made my way out of the castle. I walked past the quidditch stadium and out the castle gates. I continued walking until I eventually made it to Hogsmeade. Because it was the beginning of the school day, at the beginning of the school year, the streets of Hogsmeade weren’t as full. Not many were skipping classes like I was doing.
The warm breeze, surrounding Hogsmeade, illuminated the delightful smells from all the food and drink shops in the area. There was a hint of a warm vanilla and butterscotch smell that reminded me a lot of butterbeer. It reminded me of all the nights Cedric and I spent talking until it was almost time for curfew. It still surprised me to this day how we never got caught, even when we were late.
The aroma of the village shifted into a nutty, yet chocolatey smell, mixed with peppermint. I imagined that the smells came from Honeydukes, where they sold mind-boggling candies… literally. They carried just your regular candies, but there was also a wizarding effect to some of them that were great for pranks. While the Weasley twins, Fred and George, openly expressed their love for pranks, Cedric and I meticulously planted candies that ranged from causing one to float to causing one's ears to emit a load of steam. Many believed it was just the Weasleys’ source of entertainment, but they never found the true culprits.
The more I walked through Hogsmeade, remembering all the fun times I had with Cedric, I realized that I’d never really been away from Cedric during the school year. We were always together. The only times we weren’t were if we had different classes and to go to sleep. But all the time we spent together allowed us to be kids and enjoy life. We got away with so much. Our time together was never boring, and I loved that. I never had the same connection that I have with Cedric with anyone else, and without him, life felt like a timeless loop of nothingness. Everything I once loved was contaminated with the nostalgia I got from being around Cedric for most of my life.
In the middle of Hogsmeade Square, my thoughts were silenced as my line of sight was directed at something that left me confuddled. There was a dog with shaggy dark fur, similar to my father’s, staring right at me. I turned thinking something was behind me, but when I turned back, the dog was still there. Knowing it got my attention, it began to walk into a little alleyway.
I furrowed my eyebrows, watching the dog disappear. It was strange. The dog looked almost familiar like I had seen it before. Right as I was about to start walking again, an arm came from behind the wall where the dog left to. They pointed to the alleyway as if they wanted me to follow.
I slowly approached the flower shop that was next to the alleyway. When I got a little closer to the arm I heard a distant voice say, “Psst. Y/N, over here.”
The voice was extremely familiar. Realizing how familiar the voice and dog sounded to me, I finally figured out who it was. “Dad?!” I spoke in a whisper-yell.
“Come here,” he said, grabbing my arm and pulling me into the alleyway. His grip on me was hard, and when he swung so fast, I felt as if I would hit the brick wall, next to him. I braced myself for impact but was instead met with my father’s chest. He pulled me into his arms, giving me a big hug. A blissful smile appeared on my face as I returned the hug, giving him a tight squeeze.
“Oh, I know it’s been a day, but I’ve missed you, Pumpkin,” he spoke into my hair before placing a kiss on my head.
“I missed you too, Dad. What are you doing here?” I asked, pulling away from the hug as I gave him a sideways glance.
He chuckled. “I was using my newfound freedom to catch up on all my favorite places as a child. Of course, I cant go to Hogwarts, but as always, when all else fails, you go to Hogsmeade.”
“So you disguised yourself as a dog?” I questioned.
He stopped looking down at me with his mouth hung open. “Not everyone agrees with the ministry about my- wait. Why am I telling you this? You should be in class, young lady.” He tried to be stern with me, but instead, it made me laugh.
“Ah! Hahahaha! Dad, you’re so funny. You were the king of not doing as you told me, and now you’re judging me. Yeah, hilarious, Dad,” I laughed.
He paused, repeating everything in his head. He knew I was right. He had no right to judge me, but he also knew that something was wrong, because I never did the things he did at my age. But instead of saying that, he just left.
Confused, I followed. “Where are we going?” I asked, receiving no response from him. He led me to a shop named Madam Puddifoot’s Tea Shop. The building was made of stone with pink-painted windows, doors, and trims. The windows displayed tea cups and pots stacked on top of the window. In all honesty, the place looked calm, and besides all the pink, I believe that I could come around to making this a quiet little hangout.
We walked in and there were even more tea cups and pink-painted walls. It reminded me of what muggles had described their grandmother’s house to look like- if she were obsessed with collecting tea cups and China.
I was looking around when all of a sudden, someone snuck up on me and yelled out loud, “Hello!” I jumped, turning to face whoever was speaking. It was a small, pudgy woman in a green dress and a white apron wrapped around her waist. “Welcome to Madam Puddifoot’s. Can I interest you in a pot of Earl Grey?” She offered with a warm smile.
“Yes, please,” my father said, sitting down at the closest table. He kicked the chair, silently telling me to sit down. I obeyed, pulling the chair back and sitting down across from him.
My father placed his hand on top of mine. “Talk to me.” I bit my lip and gave my father a sad look before starting my story. I told him everything from the time I got on the train to everything that happened last night. As I talked, I watched as my father gave me a mean glare. It wasn’t meant to be pointed at me, as much as it was directed at Samantha and Cedric. He wanted to kill anyone who hurt his daughter, but he also knew that that wasn’t what I wanted.
“And when I-”
“Hold on,” He said, holding up his index finger to stop me from continuing. “These girls- they’ve been bullying you since your first year?” He asked. I nodded, silently answering his question before he continued. “What would make you believe that I wouldn’t want you to get your revenge. Do you even know your father? I was ready to kill a man last year. I literally had to be held back.”
I looked down at my tea cup with a smile. The teacup was almost as full as when I started drinking. I had yet to really have time to drink the tea because I was talking with my father.  But I took extremely small sips every now and then. I stirred the cup with my hand before taking another small sip, this one slightly bigger than the last.
As I placed the cup back on the table, I shrugged, “I don’t know. I sometimes forget what it’s like to have you as a father. I’ve only ever known from what I see other dads do.
My dad frowns, but he covers it up with a smirk and a sly remark. “Well I’m not most dads, am I?” I let out a soft laugh while shaking my head at my father’s antics.
I knew he wasn’t like most dads. Hanging out with my dad over the summer was more like hanging out with your fun uncle, rather than your father, even before he was sent to Azkaban. My mother used to tell me about how I was the light in my father’s eye, making it hard for him to say “no” to me. And she was right. My father hardly disciplined me. He was carefree. That was until someone would mess with me. If you say something to me that I don’t like, best believe that Sirius Black or even Cleod will be there.
“If someone hits you, you hit them back.”
“I thought you can’t fight fire with fire,” I argued.
“Oh, please. That’s just something authority figures say to keep people from fighting back. What your doing is enabling them,” My father said, waving off the saying. “They will continue to pick fun at you until you show them you mean business.”
I listened carefully, still a little confused. Sure, I wanted to hurt Samantha the same way she hurt me, but it didn’t feel right. I never wished to harm anyone. But the feelings I got when I thought about setting Samantha’s stuff on fire opened my eyes to something darker within me. I looked down at my hands, watching as my fingers picked at the fingers on my other hand.
“I don’t know, Dad.”
My dad took my hands in his and pulled them apart. I looked up at him as he said, “You’re strong, just like your mother. You have her caring heart, also. I see a lot of your mother in you, but what you were describing earlier was me. Your letters of you and that boy, Cedric, who I’ll get to in a sec, show me that you have a hidden love for mischief, just as I had. You’re a kid. I want you to have that.”
I looked away from my father with a dark red blush on my cheeks and my lips sporting a smile. I thought back to the fun memories I had with my mother. The way she would stop what she was doing to cheer me up, or how we played hide-n-seek in the large forest behind our cottage. I missed my mother.
As my mind went back to her death, my smile slowly descended. Suddenly, it became harder to breathe. My eyes closed as I tried to focus on my breathing. I couldn’t see it, but I could imagine the concerned look on my father’s face. I heard a chair scoot across the floor and some shuffling before a pair of arms pulled me in for a hug.
“I miss her, Dad,” I cried.
My father pulled my head to his chest as his arms slowly rubbed my back. “I know. I do too, kiddo,” He said with a shaky breath. “You’ve lost so much. It’s okay to let it out,” he spoke in a comforting voice as I began to cry harder. My tears fell from my face and soaked into his sleeve.
“You know, I don’t blame you for telling that boy that you don’t want him to join that tournament.” He paused. “I can’t get mad at him either, because I did the same thing. Your mother warned me to not join the war against Voldemort, and look where it got me. One of my closest friends, who I trusted, betrayed me and killed my best friend. I ended up in Azkaban, and I couldn’t be there to protect you and your mother. I got mad at her for telling me not to join, but she was right. I wanted to protect the wizarding world so that you could grow up without the pain and suffering, but I guess that would have been inevitable. Sometimes I think to myself, what would really happen if I didn’t join. I think your mother, James, Lily, and a boatload of more people would still be alive. It was my job to be the secret keeper, but I knew it wasn’t right…”
We released from the hug, allowing me to look up at my father with a sad smile. I wiped my tears and listened. “I think that there would have been a lot more deaths if you weren’t there. You sacrificed so much, but you still fought hard. Without you, we would have never learned that there was a rat on the team. Literally. The war isn’t over, and all we can do is fight.”
“Yes, I definitely agree with you. We should fight for what we believe in. So why are you giving up?”
Now I’m confused.
“What?” I asked, giving my father a questioning look.
“Your best friend is about to fight a battle alone. Even though I was mad that your mother didn’t want me to fight, we still stood by each other’s side. Cedric wants to risk his life, let him risk it knowing that he still has someone at his side. Don’t let him go through it alone, even if you have different ideas on something.”
My father’s words were surprisingly inspirational. Was I really just going to give up on Cedric. Could 6 years of friendship really go down the drain that easily? No. I could never leave Cedric. He’s never left me, and now it’s my turn to walk alongside him.
A bright smile appeared before I excitedly jumped out of my chair. I pulled my father into a quick hug, mumbling a small “thank you” into his ear before running out of the small tea shop, and away from Hogsmeade.
I have a friendship to save.

A/N: This took way too long to write, but it's actually one of my longest stories to write. I honestly don't know where I am going with this, but I do know that Samantha is only here to build the reader's character for what's going to happen in the 2nd part of this mini-series. But anyway, I hope you guys liked this, and I wish you all a bright and beautiful day. ❤️

Nature Or Nurture? Pt.1
Tw: Discussion of Dead Relatives. A *almost* smut scene.
Tumblr media
Out of my way." you said as you brushed past a Gryfindor couple. They made offended noises as you kept walking.
"Oi mate, no need to be rude." one of them called. You rolled your eyes.
You were feared to say the least, amongst other houses and slightly within your own. 'Don't get in his way.' 'He is crazy' and other flattering things were constantly said about you.
You were the "Ideal Slytherin" the type that fulfilled the stereotype and retained said stereotype. Cold-Hearted. You didn't care about anyone and no one was worth your time but that didn't stop several people from being drawn in by you, you were strong and they wanted to stand next to you, not in front of you.
A natural-born leader. You were fine with it of course until they disturbed you. Like that annoying Malfoy boy did with his annoying 'Potter' this and 'Potter' that.
A loud smack caught your attention and made you wince in pain at whatever hit your face. You scowled.
"What's your damn problem?" you snapped. You opened your eyes to see a frantic but familiar Hufflepuff.
"I am so so sorry, I wasn't watching where I was going." You scoffed.
"Obviously." you said, looking at the boy who was now picking up his books. You put your shoe on one of his papers.
"Excuse me, can you hand me that?" he asked. You reached down and picked it up.
"Cedric Diggory?" you read, he looked up with an open hand, waiting for you to hand him the paper. You merely looked him up and down before walking off with the paper.
"Hey! that's my report."
You grinned, "Alatre Ascendare!" you shouted back at the boy, wand in hand. It made all his papers spray out of his books and into the air.
With that, he'd become... intrigued by you.
Several other people came up to him, picking up papers.
"Who's he?" He asked one of the Ravenclaw girls.
"Everyone calls him by his last name. Professor McGonagall forgot to call his first name when he was sorted"
"What is his last name?" Cedric asked, standing up.
"Shouldn't you know? He's in your year."
Cedric was slightly embarrassed. He always tried to know everyone in his year, even if it was only their house and name.
"Sorry, I've forgotten it," he said laughing slightly.
"He's Booker." The girl said walking away from him.
He smiled while scooping up the rest of his papers and began walking in the direction he thought he saw you going. He was looking for you when he was caught off guard by movement in the window sill high above the ground. He looked up and he saw you, simply reading a book like it was the most casual place to read the latest paper.
"Hey!" he called, catching your attention.
You looked down at him and rolled your eyes, "Hello Cedi-Didi." Cedric cringed at the nickname.
"How did you get up there?" he asked.
You grinned. "Wouldn't you like to know, Huff Puff?"
He was getting fed up a lil bit at your childish way of teasing him. "I want to talk to you, can you come down?"
You rolled your eyes, "Incarcerous." you said with a flip of your wand, making a long rope come out the end. "Are you climbing up?" you asked.
He got to the top and sat beside you, letting his legs dangle off the ledge. "So.. You're a fifth year? How come I didn't know your name?"
You glared at him, "That's the big question you had to hunt me down and ask me?"
Cedric had no idea why you were so pissed, "Are you this mad all the time?"
"Only when someone disturbs my read and also the remaining three hundred and sixty-five days. Twenty-four seven. " You said with a mean grin.
"Why though, isn't it much easier to be happy?" he asked. Fair question.
"Oh I am exceptionally happy"
You were just rude.
He smiled though, " I think you and I are going to be really good friends."
He never left you alone. Every time you were heading to class it was "Hey, can we eat together outside today?" or "Let's play some Wizard's chess." or "Can we study together.”
Your housemates had begun to pick on you, not to your face though. They called him your lost and sometimes kicked puppy, probably from how sad he looked when you turned him down.
They started to ask you why you didn't like him at all and you had a simple response; He is trying too hard. You were growing used to it but it was very annoying on your off days. Today was an off day.
"Hey! I was wonde-"
You stopped and turned around to look him in the eyes. He felt a chill. They were colder than the dead of winter. He just closed his mouth and sighed. Your heart felt a twang of guilt. What an off day.
"What were you wondering, Cedric?" you asked, trying to sound soft. He turned and looked at you with a smile.
"I was wondering if you'd want to sit on the window sill together again?"
You shook your head yes. He grabbed your sleeve and dragged you to the window sill. You looked up to it.
"So do you do the rope spell to get up?" he asked. You laughed at him.
"No, I took a few classes with Professor McGonagall. Watch this," you said.
You took a deep breath in and Cedric stared as you changed into a bird. You had taken her Animagus class! You had gotten onto the window sill. It took you a little longer to change back into yourself, a few feathers sticking to the side of your face and refusing to go back in properly. You brushed your hair of them and looked down at him.
"Impressed?" you asked.
"Holy- Dude, you just turned into a bird and just flew on your merry way? How long did it take you to do that?" he said.
"I started in her class when I was fourteen and I've practiced every day at this window sill. And it's not any bird, it's a Merlin," you said, letting down the rope and pulling him up this time. He sat facing you this time. It was just before dinner and the sun had started to dip under the mountains. He looked out the window.
"You picked a great place for your hangout."
"Thanks."
He looked at you and how the golden light shone on your features. You looked at him and thought the same but you looked down.
No. Not again. Not your heart getting ahead of you.
You were walking into the great hall for the Opening and Sorting Ceremony. You were excited to see who would join your house and finally eat the delicious food. You sat there welcoming new Slytherins and even clapping for the house of your best friend when they received a new member, which got you a few weird looks from your housemates but they knew not to mess with you and even then most of them knew about your friendship with Cedric.
After the Sorting, you wanted to eat but no food appeared because of the announcement Dumbledore was going to make. You stared down but your attention was brought back when a kid tapped you on the shoulder ad pointed at something you only heard stories about: The Goblet of Fire. The Goblet meant one thing was going to happen, the Tri-Wizard Tournament. You looked at Cedric to joke about it but you noticed a flame-like the one burning from the Goblet in his eyes.
"Oh god.. No." you barely whispered. Cedric was just old enough, seventeen, to compete and you knew he would.
You just knew. You knew what you had to do. Put your name in and pray it was you, not him. He looked at you and saw your expression and gave you a reassuring smile.
After the entire Feast and Ceremonies, you tracked him down and asked to talk.
"Hey! How was your summer?"
"Great, went camping. Do not put your name in that goblet."
"Woah, topic changed rather quickly, didn't it?" He said, pearly whites lashing with a slight laugh.
You sighed, "Do not put your name in the goblet."
Cedric noticed your genuine concern about him and he softened his charismatic eye-blinding smile into a comforting smirk, "I will be alright. I am strong." he said.
You just shook your head, "If you put your name in, I will put mine in too."
His mood changed, "You shouldn't."
"Why? Think I can't do it?"
"No! No I don't!" he snapped. You were shocked and you felt like someone had slapped you even though his hands were still in his pockets. You felt tears prick at your eyes and thus you turned and walked away, leaving the Hufflepuff regretting his words.
You didn't know what was wrong with you, you don't cry over stuff like this but he just didn't understand.
You were unpacking your stuff and everyone in the commons could feel the tense aura radiating off you with the energy of ten suns. You slammed your sock drawer shut and yelled.
"Bloody Hell! I can do what I want He can just- Ugh!" You slumped down beside your bed. Your friend, Daniel, raised from his bed and shook his head at you.
"Sad, innit? Simple, to fix it. Become his dream guy."
You flung your head up at him, "I do not like Cedric Diggory like that."
Your other friend, Rich, who was reading a comic book, spoke up "No, you don't at all. Except for the fact for most of last year and even over the summer you were like all 'Will Cedric like this?' 'Do you think Cedric is busy? Is that why he didn't write back?' and my personal favorite, 'I should write to Cedric but he hasn't answered my last letter, should I?' like no, you don't have the hugest crush. Totally not."
You threw a pillow at him, "Watch your mouth." You thought for a minute though. They did have a point.
You felt your face turn red and you heard Daniel chuckle at your reaction. "You like him."
"Yes," you started, "What is his dream guy anyway? What if he isn't even... "
"He literally wears rainbow socks." Rich, who recovered from the pillow said, going back to his reading.
"Maybe he just likes colors," you said. "I like colors."
"We are not going to go over all the less than hetero tendencies he has."
They did have a point; He was either too comfortable, to the point it was almost disturbing, with himself or a little fruity.
"So what is his dream... Lover?" you decided to word it.
Rich and Daniel looked at each other and got up. They walked to you and grabbed you by either arm.
"We got a lot of work to do."
"Wha?-Wait- Whoa! What do you mean?"
"Cut your hair, fix your dark circles and make it look like you've seen the outside world at least once. Seriously, dude, you look like you live by a lamp. NAd we got to teach you how to tie a tie properly." Rich rattled off. This... This was going to be either a disaster or the best thing you ever did in your life.
"Why so blue, mate?" Cedric's friend, Melissa asked. He was moping by the common room bookshelf and overall looking like someone popped his balloon and drank all the milk for his cereal.
"Oh.. Sorry. I just... I feel bad.”
"About what?" she asked, flipping through a witch fashion magazine.
"Well... I yelled at my crus- my friend." he corrected himself. Melissa looked up from her magazine and nudged the guy sitting beside her who was making his teacup float, Carter.
"Crush?" he asked, teacup slightly spinning.
Cedric knew he was busted. "Well... Yes. I... I have a crush on someone."
"And you yelled at them?"
"On accident. I didn't mean to raise my voice at him."
"Who is it?"
Cedric caved and told them the whole story.
"How are you not dead? If that'd been anybody else, they'll have to be hauled to the infirmary." Melissa said.
"He actually is really nice. He really likes birds. He feeds them every morning." Cedric said, smiling at the thought of you and him feeding the birds. He got to hold one as it ate some of the seeds you offered the birds. Little swallows and a few sparrows.
"Yeah, but he once punched a guy in the face and broke his nose so bad the bloke had to have surgery."
Cedric rolled his eyes, "Moving on. How do I make it up and well, tell him?"
"First off," Melissa stated, "We need to fix all that." she said.
"You literally gestured to all of me." Cedric said, frowning.
"Yeah... We got some work. Ok, what is his type?"
"I don't know."
"Useless Cedric, completely useless." Melissa said, grabbing his shoulder and shaking him till he laughed at her silly way o letting him know he is no help.
"Well, obviously, he is a Slytherin so he likes dark, brooding, and... I don't know, snake-y?"
Melissa groaned at this, "That is so biased it is causing my physical pain."
Cedric just shook his head at his friend's antics and looked out the window to see the stars. He thought about you.
He felt so sure about everything in his life but you came and now, he wasn't sure if you loved him, hated him, or were indifferent. A wild card in his moderately even and sorted deck.
"Cedric, you really like him, don't you?" Carter asked.
"Yeah."
"Why?"
That was a fair but deep question, "He listens to me. All of me. The part of me that are not that good, the parts that fall short, and the parts that get over emotional. He keeps me in sync and makes sure that I am okay. I know it seems like he doesn't care but deep down he cares a little too much. He is such a good person and you can see it if you just really look for it."
The duo were silent. Cedric never got deep but that was the depth of the Atlantic compared to his usual banter and jokes. Cedric just stood up and walked to the door.
"I think I will go for a short walk.”
"But Fil-"
"It'll be a short one."
Cedric walked out from behind the painting of the pear and took a left. He shoved his hands into his pockets and thought about you and he smiled to himself. Before he knew it, he had reached the window sill you loved. He just stared up into the light that was pouring into the stone corridors from similar high windows. He noticed a bird on the window sill and he whistled at it and he heard the tune played back in almost perfect harmony. He saw you slowly shift into you, you had gotten better at it over break, you no longer had to manually shove feathers into your head. A rope fell and he began to climb. Once he got to the top he noticed something different about you. You looked cleaner, not that you were dirty. More put together would be a better term. He stared at you and how the moon and stars lit up your features. You were made for moonlight.
He was made for sunlight, you thought. Bright richly colored hair, warm smile, and features. He was the sun and everyone knew it. People revolved around him in a happy social solar system and you were happy to join their orbit after being pulled in by his gravity. He stared into your eyes, melting down your serious demeanor, and you stared back before you or he knew, you both were leaning in close and gently pressed your lips together. He barely opened his eyes to see you up close. He gently ran his hand up to the nape of our neck. The kiss and following ones lasted for a while and then it hit you both what had just happened.
"Uh... I.. Did you, ya know, enjoy that?" he asked shyly. You smiled.
"Yea... Did you?" you asked, an equal level of awkwardness.
You reached for his hand and he gently slid his into yours. He leaned in for another kiss but you brought up your finger to block him.
"We need to talk about the Goblet ordeal."
He pulled away and shook his head. "I am really sorry about what I said. You could do it, I am just scared for you to get hurt."
"Then you understand why I don't want you to put your name in."
Cedric smiled and squeezed your hand, "I know I know but baby... I want to try. Dumbledore said it'd be safer than the earlier ones. Please.”
The sweet name made your heart melt. You thought about it. What were his chances of being chosen out of all the people who put their names in? Pretty low statistically. That eased your consciousness.
You smiled at Cedric and he smiled back. He went in for a hug and you hugged back. He gently pulled you to his chest.
"I don't sleep very well," he admitted.
You were surprised to hear his heartbeat thumping like a bass, it was oddly soothing. "Go to sleep, I won't let you fall." he said.
And he didn't.
It was a beautiful day compared to most when the other school arrived. You were chosen by your Prefect to help the ladies from Beauxbatons carry in their items. You had no complaints except that one Durmstrang who accidentally bumped into and nearly knocked you silly. He apologized as you started to cast a spell to make all the suitcases float.
"Wingardium Leviosa." you said and you began to visualize rooms that had been set aside for the students of Beauxbatons. You were done by the time Durmstrang was done with their introduction choreography. You walked in and took your seat.
Dumbledore rattled on about the number of tasks, the rules, and how happy they were to have the two schools arrived for such a big occasion. You weren't listening, you were thinking about how Cedric put in name in the cup the other day and you smiled and acted like your heart wasn't hurting. You clapped after he finished his spill and watched the tables grow to allow room for the two schools to sit and eat. You got up and offered your seat to a Beauxbatons girl whose friend had sat down in the empty seat beside you. You walked to the Hufflepuff table and found Cedric, who smiled brightly at you as he told you to sit down. A few of the Hufflepuffs were off-put by this but they came around after you started talking and not attacking them like they thought you would.
You looked at Cedric, "Do you think you will get chosen?" you asked honestly.
"Well, I think I've got a chance just as good as anybody."
Secretly he held your hand under the table where no one could see. He would rather grab your hand and shout to the world how he felt about you but you had said you wanted to wait a little while to announce your relationship.
"So, Booker, What is your favorite spell?" one of Cedric's friends asked, sensing your unease.
"Oh, I'd say it would be one of the first ones I learned. It's called Ferula, it heals things and wraps bandages around the target. I got hurt a lot and my Mom would use it instead of buying band-aids."
"Your mother is a witch? I thought it was your father."
"Well, My Dad is a half-blood and my Mom is a pureblood. He never really got to learn magic because his non-magical mother was scared for him."
They looked at each other and shook their heads in understanding, "Well, does he know magic now?"
"He knows a little bit. He knows about five spells well enough to cast them."
The topic had slowly changed as the feast progressed to favorite candy, wands, and so on. It was nice. You liked sitting there. They were funny and they didn't seem to have it in them to be critical or mean.
Today was the day. The Goblet would choose the champions. You sat there about to faint as everyone gathered into the Great Hall, waiting with a little more cheer than you had.
You saw Dumbledore walk up to the Goblet and gently raised his hand. Out flew a strip of parchment and he flipped it over to see a name. You held your breath.
"Viktor Krum." You exhaled so quickly it made your nose hurt. You joined in on the clapping for the Durmstrang man who walked to shake Dumbledore's hand and then on to a room.
Dumbledore raised his hand once again, you felt your palms sweat as he tuned to read the name.
"Fleur Delacour." You clapped for the Veela as she followed Krum's path: handshakes and to the room.
One last name. One last school. You were going to faint. He raised his hand and he looked at the name. You watched him as if he was in slow motion.
"Cedric Diggory" You burst into tears. Oh god no... He stood up and walked to shake Dumbledore's hand.
He nearly made it to the door when the Goblet lit again and another name flew out. everyone was confused, especially Dumbledore after he read the name. He barely whispered it but you could tell it was not good.
"Harry Potter," he said, voice full of unease and a mild tone of rage. "Harry Potter!"
After the whole fiasco, you found Cedric, he was leaving the room and he had a smile on his face but there was a thread of worry behind it.
You walked up to him and he grinned.
"Can you believe it?"
"Cedric... You can't."
He looked confused, "Why can't I?"
"What if..." you started but were interrupted by Professor McGonagall.
"Mr. Booker, We need you. We have a favor to ask." She said with a gesture to follow her. You looked at Cedric and tried to smile, he was happy and well, he was smart enough to not die.
You sat in McGonagall's office and waited. She came backing with Dumbledore, Lady Maxime, The head of Beauxbatons, and Professor Karkaroff, Head of Durmstrang.
"So, Professor McGonagall tells me you are one of her best Animagious students and you have mastered your form. Can you please show us?" Dumbledore asked.
You looked at McGonagall who smiled and shook her head. You stood up and you breathed in and as you breathed out, you shifted into a Merlin. After the shift was done, you flew up to the iron chandelier and sat up there.
"This Wonderful!" Professor Karakoff said, "He can observe Tournament." now you knew what they wanted to ask. You gently flew back to the ground and changed back into a human.
"Mr. Booker, do you think you would consider? We considered Broomsticks but.. they upset one of the tasks." You looked at the four professors.
'Help where you can.' You heard
Cedric's voice in the back of your head.
"Of course. It's an honor," you said.
You sat up on the window sill, watching the stars, waiting for Cedric. You heard his footsteps and you changed. You smiled down at him as you sent down a rope, he climbed up and sat right next to you. He opened a bag and handed you a small box.
"I am sorry I didn't write. I never got them because I wasn't home for most of the summer." That explained it.
"So to make up for it, I got you something.”
"You didn't have to do that, It couldn't be helped." you looked at the box that was wrapped in brown paper and tied with a gold rope.
"C'mon, open it!" he said. You undid the rope and tore the paper. You opened the small box and saw a small gold chain bracelet. Two charms dangling from it caught your eye. One was a gold miniature copy of your wand: Ten-inch, Willow and it had a handle that was carved to look like feathers. The other was a flowering Rosemary.
"Well, the wand is self-explanatory. What about the Rosemary?"
Cedric blushed a little bit, "Well, we actually took Herbology together in our first year. I never said hi though. You seemed scary and despondent."
You chuckled, "I guess I was."
You put on the bracelet and turned to your bag, you had gotten him a little something. You handed him a box that was decorated in silver and tied with a black ribbon. He smiled as he opened it like a child on Christmas. It was a mirror.
He looked at you and you smiled.
"Um, I think it's pretty."
"It's not just a Mirror. It's a memory Mirror. If the mirror can reflect something, it will be stored in the mirror. You then can put it in the moonlight and it will these memories like a movie."
He looked more intrigued now. He looked at the mirror and then slid it into the moonlight. Slowly a replica of his face appeared above the mirror. "How did you get this?"
"Oh... It was a very old gift. I used to make copies of myself.”
"Then you should keep it."
"No... I don't like it anymore," you said, sadness seeping into your voice.
He looked at you, concern on his face, "Why?"
"It was a gift from my Mother. I miss her and I used to spend hours staring at her image from the mirror but all I accomplished was more grief every time the moonlight went away." You looked out the window.
"She loved us. Me and my sisters. She'd point us out to her friends and talk about us. 'Grace, oh well, she is doing fabulous! She recently got married.' 'Tiffany? She started working at the Ministry' and 'Him? He is going to Hogwarts next year. I am so excited! My wand left me and chose him, Ha! Can you believe that!' She was so proud of us all."
Cedric wrapped his arms around you. "What happened to her?"
"She got very sick. Her wand knew, that's why it chose me. She got to the point where she couldn't walk. A few days after that, I went to wake her up and she barely opened her eyes and asked me to get everyone. She said goodbye."
Cedric felt your tears dampen his t-shirt as he held you. "I am sure she is still proud of you. You're talented, beautiful and no matter what you saw, you've got a good heart."
"I miss her so much."
"Tell me about her."
You smiled, "She would have loved you. She was very firey and aggressive when it came to her friends and family. She would sing us lullabies and rock us. I remember the last time she rocked me was when I was four. I had tripped and cut my knee. She showed me magic that day. She let me hold her wand. Willow and Veela hair."
"Is that why you offered to help the Beauxbatons students? Cause some of them are Veela's like your Mom?"
"No, she wasn't a Veela but her best friend is. She offered her hair when they were making wands. She did attend Beauxbatons though."
You told Cedric about her and in the end, it felt like, in a way, he had met her." She would have stayed and become a professor if she hadn't fallen in love with my Dad. They were very happy."
"Like us?”
You paused, "Yeah. Like us."
Cedric smiled. You let your thought leave your mouth.
"Cedric. You are my home."
"How so?"
"Home is where your heart is."
The clock tower chimed for four in the morning. He looked at you, you had fallen asleep. He smiled as gently nudged you awake so you could sneak back to your commons. Cedric was quietly but hurriedly walking to his when he met someone: Dumbledore.
"Ah, Young Cedric. Early aren't we?" he said, smiling. "Why so early young man?"
"I- Um I was..."
"In the window sill," Dumbledore said, "Follow me, let's talk about this."
Cedric walked with DUmbledore, slightly slower than he'd normally walk. "So, am I in trouble?"
"No. You were just being a teenager. The Muggle equivalent of sneaking out of the house."
Cedric smiled, measured you weren't in trouble. "I guess."
"Mr. Booker forgot to tell you though. He will be watching from above."
"Oh? How- Oh wait."
"He has a knack for it, hm?"
"Yeah. It's so cool. He just goes and flies away."
Dumbledore shook his head, "I've seen a change in the both of you. So has the other professors. They say you seem to care a little bit more about the details and they tell me that he helps people, especially the underclassmen Slytherins. He must know it's rough."
"Yeah... I guess we've both changed."
"Love finds a way to change things," Dumbledore said.
"Love will find a way." Cedric repeated.
"Dragons." Cedric said to you as he looked at you. You were in the library reading up on some potions books since you had nothing else to do.
"Good morning to you," you said, looking up.
"How do I fight a dragon?" he asked, sitting down in the chair across from you.
"Why?”
"Cause... Harry Potter told me that the challenge would be dragons."
You picked up your cup of tea and sipped from it, "He could have lied."
"But what if he didn't?"
He had a point."Ok well, Cedric what do dragons do? Breathe fire. Put out the fire, beat the dragon."
"Ok, but that seems like... too easy." he said.
"Too easy? Well... Maybe if the dragon is focused on something else, it won't have time to deal with you."
He leaned over the table, "What can I distract it with?"
You began sharpening his skill in Transfiguration and now it was time to shine.
You walked in behind the Champions. You were followed by McGonagall, who would let you shift and then send you out to fly around and observe the champions. You shook Viktor's hand and kissed Fluer's hand before you got to Harry Potter.
"I am there to make sure you don't die." The boy looked stunned, but you recovered with a laugh. "No, no. You probably are safe. With or without me."
Lastly, you saw Cedric, he looked nervous but he smiled at you. You hugged him and whispered in his ear.
"Do your best."
You walked to McGonagall, who opened the curtain enough for your bird form to go through. You slowly shifted, which caught the other three champions off guard. You flew out and went up to the clouds. You loved flying. It was just you, the clouds, and the rush of the wind. Your wings could take you anywhere and be strong enough to make sure you got there. You began to dive back down as a cymbal sounded, time to do your job.
First was Cedric. You watched from above. 'Make sure no one cheats.' You watched him intently.
He dodged some of the fire before finding the perfect rock. You heard him shout out the spell and you flew down closer to caw in approval but the rock didn't turn into another dragon and he didn't call out the enlarging charm. It instead was a dog! You mildly panicked but you noticed the dragon was interested in the dog and that Cedric was sprinting for the egg.
He made it into the nest area when the dragon turned and noticed him. The dragon erupted a huge wave of fire on top of him.
'In case of potential death, help the champion." you flew down but that's when you noticed something. It seemed something was pushing back the fire but struggling to do so quickly.
A line from a poem came into mind, "Eating fire is your ambition."
Cedric had ambition.
He pushed up with the shield he was making. He had the egg, all he had to do was get out of the nest. "Dragons can breathe fire for twenty minutes." He just had to outlast the last fifteen. He counted down and made sure he had a good grip on the egg.
Now!
He pushed up with such force the shield hit the dragon in the face and knocked loose a few fangs. He was sweaty and very tired. He noticed you land and change to make sure he had brought the egg. He smiled as he stumbled to you, he lifted his wand.
"Orchideous." he said. A bouquet spilled out of the end of his wand. And like that he hit the ground out of exhaustion.
Cedric coughed himself awake. He was in the infirmary. He looked and saw you reading a book.
"Morning," he said, not knowing how long he'd been out.
"You inhaled enough smoke to kill a large dog."
"Four-twenty. Blaze it." he chuckled as he did a peace sign.
You laughed but you also rolled your eyes. "I wish I could stay mad at you."
You looked to his bedside t table. "A couple of people dropped you off some gifts. And don't forget," you raised a golden egg, "Mr. Second place, we need to figure this out."
He smiled, "Well, open the egg first." you reached to the top of it and undid it. The scream the egg let out hurt your ears and you could not have shut it fast enough.
"Yeah... That isn't good." You said sitting beside him. He groaned at the dismay of it not being easy.
After opening a few gifts, you spoke up.
"While you were sleeping. Dumbledore announced the date for the second task and another thing."
"What?" he asked, eating some of his Every Flavor Jelly Beans.
"The Yule Ball," you said.
He looked at you and smiled. "So are we going together?" he asked.
"Cedric... I don't think-"
"Please. I want to go with you."
You sighed, "Ok ok... But if anyone who isn't our friend asks. We are friends."
"Embarrassed of me?" he asked, half-joking, half-serious.
"No. It's just what if they-" Cedric sat up and leaned to press his head against yours.
"The people who love us will understand and the ones that don't will either get over it or have to fight me," he said, smiling.
You sighed, he was right. "Say, you are allowed to leave. Want to go get dinner?"
"Yes, I am starving," he said. He stood up and went to get dressed.
You waited outside the door for him as you thought about what you were going to do. He walked out of the door and you instantly grabbed his hand. he was a little surprised but you just held on as you both walked to go get food. You walked into the Great hall and headed for the Hufflepuff Table. They looked at you and a lot of them smiled and a few even raised a glass to Cedric.
"Congrats! On both." Melissa said. You and Melissa had become friends because of your life subscription to a fashion magazine and she would help you with other things.
"Thanks," Cedric said, squeezing your hand tighter.
"So Booker, I need your opinion."
"On?"
"Dresses. Sprout said we could all go one day and get suits and dresses and I am sure she'd let you come along!" she said. "Now, what color? I feel like a blue or maybe a pink"
You and Melissa rattled on about dresses, colors, and styles. Cedric got to thinking about the egg. He had time but he needed to figure it out or else it bother him for days. Suddenly, an idea hit him. The first trial was fire so it was maybe water.
"Hey, I think I am going to go get a bath and go to bed."
"Okay, see you later," you said to him.
You went back to chatting when a pair of Ravenclaw girls walked behind you, they were just chatting but your ears caught what the dark-haired one said.
"I like Cedric, Do you think he'll ask me to go?"
You felt your heart drop as you looked to see who exactly it was and saw Cho Chang. She was stunning, beautiful, and kind. You felt a twinge of envy.
Everyone had heard it too and they just stared at you. "Well... I guess I will be leaving now," you said. You stood up and almost ran out of the Great Hall. You ran til you slammed right into someone.
"I am so sorry, I just-"
"Boy, you shouldn't be running in the halls, and what is wrong with you?" It was Snape.
"Oh Professor Snape, I was just... I just am not doing too well. Apologies." You started to walk away.
"Wait a moment," he said walking to you. "What has you distraught?"
"It's nothing... You probably won't get it."
"Try me."
You sighed and sniffed, "Well, I liked someone and I thought they liked me too. But... I guess they don't." you said, trying to keep it as vague as possible.
Snape crossed his arms, "First of all, why should you be the one in tears. Second, never let someone make you cry."
"But I..."
"Loves hurts young man. Know when your beat but go on with your life. You only hurt yourself if you try to stay with the memories." He turned and walked away.
He had a point.
Cedric had just got into the water with the egg. He slowly opened the egg and heard a very beautiful voice come out of it. He listened to it several times and made mental notes about it all. He then thought about you and how you helped him with the Transfiguration. He smiled as he sat in the water. He also needed to tell Harry about the eggs. He had to because Harry told him about the dragons.
He heard a door open and he looked to see you. He waved.
"How did you get in?"
"Quidditch Captain."
He remembered that you had replaced the last one. You were a great Keeper and were very competitive. You once had thrown your shoe at the snitch to scare it away from him.
"Well, I figured ou-"
"Cho Chang. Who is she to you? In one minute or less. I will walk out of here Cedric."
"Uh, I... I know her, yeah, We have some of the same classes and she's smart. Why?"
You huffed "Well obliviously she thinks there's more to you two?"
Cedric turned to fully face you, "What are you on about?"
"She wants you to ask her to the Yule Ball and-" Cedric grabbed your hand.
"Baby. Listen, she might want me to, but I would never. I already have the best date."
You sighed, "You need to start letting me finish my sentences."
It was the day You all went to go grab your suits and such. The previous week, you all had gone and gotten measured and ordered which suits and dresses you wanted.
You had received a letter that your order was in so you and Cedric walked hand in hand, falling a little behind the group, to go grab the outfits. You all also talked about going to Honeydukes which Cedric responded with the worst thing you ever heard.
"I would but he's already sweet enough." Cringe radiated along with laughter through the group. You had also dragged Rich and Daniel along.
"We aren't even attending the ball, why do we need to come along?" Rich complained.
"You need the sun."
"It is literally snowing."
Despite their complaining, they were having a good time and even reconsidered not going when they met Melissa and her friend, Emma.
You had made it to the shop and began to look at the suits that had come in for you. You grabbed yours and made your way to go change. You took off your clothes and looked at the suit and noticed how finely it had been made.
You started with the button shirt and noticed something. The neckline went down further than you planned. This is what you got for refusing to wear the typical ones. Dammit. You put on the rest of the suit and turned to the mirror and it spoke.
"Looking good handsome!"
You shook your head and pulled back the curtain to see Cedric and Daniel, waiting for a dressing room to open. Daniel nudged Cedric to look at you and when he did, he turned red in the cheeks and his jaw dropped.
"Cedric. Flies."
He shut his mouth, "You look great." he mumbled out. You laughed as you turned back, shut the curtain, and rushed to change back into your normal clothes.
Cedric looked amazing, not surprised but he could help but make it look like he walked fresh off the runway.
"He could go into modeling in case the writing thing doesn't work." You said, watching him spin and make sure his outfit looked perfect. You smiled at him and checked himself out in the mirror.
"Stay Humble." Cedric's friend, Carter said.
"I am. Do you think I should get a haircut?"
Groans erupted. There was nothing wrong with wanting to look good, especially for a special occasion.
You walked in next to Cedric. He put his arm out for you to loop yours around. You walked at an okay pace and felt eye glue to the two of you. You felt so nervous and like you were sweaty. You looked at Cedric, who looked like it was nothing but a thing.
You heard whispers and you felt like you were going to vomit if Cedric didn't walk faster. You looked at the people and, despite your feelings a lot of them had genuine smiles, not joking or malicious ones. You felt the nerves wash off a little bit.
You eventually separated, he went to get drinks and you went to claim a table. You saw Melissa and her date, your friend, Daniel so you flagged them over.
"So, Where's Cedric?" Daniel asked.
"He went to go grab a drink." you felt a tap on your shoulder.
You looked to see Cho Chang and one of her friends.
"Booker. I am really really sorry. I didn't think you would have heard me cause I thought you were sitting at the Slytherin table and I didn't know you and Cedric were a thing.”
You looked at her and smiled, "It's alright. I typically do sit at the Slytherin table and you didn't know. I am sure you weren't the only one with a crush on him. I really appreciate your apology."
"Oh, that's a relief. Thank you and have fun!" she said as her friend pulled her onto the dancefloor.
"Alright. Which one of you told her?"
"Actually I did." you heard Cedric say as he returned.
"Oh my god.."
"I knew it upset you. Don't worry I was really nice about it and she actually said we look cute together."
"That's sweet of her," you said, sipping the drink.
"Yeah," he said, drinking some of his own, "Do you want to dance?"
"I suck at it but yes."
You took Cedric's hand as he led you to the dance floor. He slowly placed his hand on your waist, "One of us has to lead." he said, smiling at you. He then began to swirl and spin you around the dancefloor. You laughed as he tried to spin you as fast as he could and he attempt to dip you.
After the slow dances were the more enjoyable dances in your opinion. You had to take off your suit jacket to keep up with him and his dance moves. You grew to love the feeling of his hands on your hips and the sight of him looking at you like you were the most beautiful person he'd ever seen.
You and him were growing very tired and had gone to sit down at the table. He sat right beside you and leaned into your ear to whisper.
"You looked beautiful." Now, wait a minute. There was something else besides love in that. You felt your face flush as his hand came up to sit on your upper thigh.
"Uuh, Cedric.. We are-"
"Shh. Let's go. it's almost midnight anyway." He said, "Only if you want to though?" he said with a smirk. No matter what smile he had, you loved them.
You and him walked out into the hallway, he gently pulled you along.
"You aren't the only one with a hideout." he said as he came to a very old-looking door. It was a smaller room but you couldn't get a good look because Cedric shut the door and pressed you up against it.
He gently pressed his lips against yours. He was always gentle at the start. Slowly he started to get a little more forceful, you pressed back and looped your arms around his neck. He lifted you off the door and pulled his lips away.
"We know where this is going to go, right?"
"Yeah," you said, slightly out of breath.
"Do you want it to?"
You thought for a moment. "Yes."
He smiled. He sat you down on top of an old desk and he slowly went to kiss your neck. You sat there, skin heating up as he kissed and sucked places on your skin.
"You are so tense. Relax. I will take care of you, baby." he muttered.
"It feels good..." you breathed out. You breathed in Cedric. He always smelled like parchment, honey, and warmth.
He slowly peppered more kisses to your jawline.
You felt you should tell him.
"Cedric." you managed to strangle out.
"Hm?" he made a noise to let you know he was listening.
"This is the first time."
He pulled back and looked at you, "You mean?"
You shook your head. He smiled and pulled you into a hug.
"Uh... okay."
"What?"
"It just wasn't the reaction I was expecting is all."
"What? Expected me to go 'What a loser.' ?"
"Kind of." he frowned at that as he went to kiss you again.
"I would never say that or even think that of you," he said before reaching to undo his bowtie. You started to undo the buttons on your shirt.
"Wait," he said. You stopped.
"What? Is someone coming?"
"No, I just... if this is your first time, we are not going to do it on a desk."
"Cedric- It's.."
"It's important to me."
You both decided to wait. Wait til after he won the tournament.
You weren't asked to observe but you were asked to aid. You didn't exactly know what they wanted but they gave you a potion and slowly you fell asleep. Before you took your trip to dreamland you heard 'They'll recuse th-' and you were out.
Cedric wondered where you were until they explained what the task was: Find a loved one in the lake. One problem he saw right away was that the lake was so huge. He remembered what the egg had said but he figured the 'something dear' would be an item or something besides a person.
He planned on using the bubblehead charm and when the signal was fired he jumped into the water. He slowly began to swim. The water was frigid and he was frozen in shock for a moment but he began swimming.
'Why in February?' he thought as he felt even colder as he swam downward. He pulled out his wand.
"Lumos" he mumbled. A light began to shine from the tip of his wand. He looked for the other champions but didn't see one but he heard a whoosh and a pop behind him. He looked down at the grassy forest and realized what was down there.
"Lumos Maxima!" he shouted, still muffled by the bubble. A huge blast of light illuminated the surrounding area. Grindylows hated light and he figured this would be the best way to stun and distract them. He kept swimming.
He thought about you and that's when he remembered something: You can't swim. He immediately picked up the pace.
He saw what appeared to be four floating figures and one free, swimming one. Harry Potter. Cedric swam to him and saw that the boy had grown gills! Gilly weed, of course! He nodded at Harry and looked to point a half transfigured Viktor. Cedric cut you loose and swiftly swam upwards.
You breathed in as soon as your head reached above the water.
"Oh shit! Holy Jesus, what the- Cedric? Why am I in the lake?" you spat, clinging to him.
"Shh, I got you. Calm down," he said as he swam towards the ladder. He lifted you to McGonagall and you grabbed her arm to pull yourself up.
You took a towel and wrapped yourself in it. You felt like half drownded cat as you hook your hair and head in the towel and then you remembered: Cedric. You turned and saw him climbing out of the lake.
You grabbed his towel and started lecturing him.
"Honestly! You could've froze to death! What in the world are you wearing? They make wetsuits!" you fussed at him as you dried his hair and whipped his face.
He began to chuckle, "Ok ok, Mom, chill! It wasn't that cold. Give me the towel, It is colder up here than down there." he said.
You handed him the towel and he smiled at you. He noticed your face was still a little wet and he gently patted it dry, "You worry so much."
You shook your head at him and just smiled.
You were wrapped up in two blankets and your head was wrapped in a warm towel. You already had a start of a head cold before they shoved you into the frigid lake. Bad sinuses ran in your family: A strong wind could give a near-death experience; Whining and overreactions also ran in your family. You could have sworn there were mini icebergs floating in the water.
You pulled one of your arms out of the blanket wads and reached for your tea. You had insisted that you didn't need to go to the infirmary but now it sounded pretty nice. You looked out the small window and cursed the climate.
A February snow.
You closed your eyes as you imagined yourself at the lake house your parents owned where the temperature was also a good fifteen degrees warmer than anywhere else.
Along with your terrible blight of physical sickness, you felt a little homesick; Your mother always took care of you when you were sick. She could have easily cured you with a potion but she said it would be better for your immune system if you fought off the illness naturally.
You raised up a little bit when you heard the door of the commons open. You sighed as you saw Cedric.
The man with a strong immune system who hadn't succumbed to your germs but he was pressing his luck. "Are you feeling any better?" he whispered into the mostly dark room.
He obviously couldn't see your blanket hive, towel, and shaking hands holding a cup of a nasty, healing tea.
"I'm Fine." your hoarse creeky voice huffed.
Even though you knew you weren't fine you still rolled your eyes when he sighed out.
"Obviously not."
You laid back on the sofa with a huff and a groan. He slowly walked around and sat on the arm of the sofa.
He smiled down at you. "You get grumpy when you are sick. Why aren't you in bed?"
"We all know the first years can't wash their damn hands and if I go up there like Sickie McGee, they will die." you mildly joked.
"They have yet to master the magic of soap but this cannot be comfy." He said.
You scoffed, "The arms aren't, idiot but the actual sitting part is quite nice."
"Still and wouldn't it make more sense for you to not be in the commons where everyone is well... comming if you are worried about the spread of whatever you have?"
He was right, "They are called Common rooms because the community is supposed to communicate in them. But you have a point," you looked at his face that dripped with accomplishment, "It isn't a big one but it's a point."
"Can you let me have one win? Pretty please?"
You rolled your eyes, "Nope."
He slammed his hand to his chest, "Oh! Right in the heart!" he fell to the carpeted ground.
You smiled softly. "If you wake them up, we're going to be in trouble." You smiled as he stood up and walked to sit on the sofa. He was really pushing it.
"Trouble? My middle name!"
You rolled your eyes, "No, it's Daryl. And how have you been getting away with all this sneaking out anyway?"
He raised his eyebrow, "Did Juliet ask Romeo all these questions?"
You stared at him, "Who?"
"It's a play written by a muggle poet, William Shakespeare. It's a story about two-star crossed lovers whose families hate each other. Romeo sneaks to see Juliet out on a balcony or something like that."
You closed your eyes as you sat your tea back down, "Well, I guess our balcony would be the windowsill. I don't think our families would hate each other."
"One day, we'll all get together and have breakfast."
You smiled as you laid your head back, "You wouldn't like my father, though."
"Why?"
"He said if I ever date anyone who can't cook, he'll die on the spot."
"I guess I better practice."
Roger Booker was smoking his cigarette, grey smoke lingering around him. Under his bushy black eyebrows, his icy blue eyes glanced from the clock to his book and back.
He swept his greying hair back and his free hand went to fix a hair on his mustache, twisting it to shape.
He looked at the pot of tea his son had made and reached to pour himself a cup but your voice stopped him.
“Dad! That’s for when Cedric gets here.” He had agreed to let you invite Cedric over on the winter holiday before you both were due to return before the Yule Ball. And he was slowly regretting it.
“When is he going to get ‘ere then?”
“Dad, most wizards have issues with our kind of money and he may be confused in a cab or something like that.”
Your Dad scoffed, “You’d think they’d have a class on it.” Despite Roger being magical, he didn’t call himself a wizard since he barely knew anything about it and had no formal magical education.
However, his wife, a talented witch, insisted in him learning some magic since their kids may be magical.
“We have muggle studies.”
Your Dad looked at you just as the door rang, you stood up and walked to it and smiled when you saw a familiar face. You invited him in and your Dad stood up to see if the boy was as interesting and amazing as you had made him out to be.
He was surprised to see just a teenager: Average height, brown eyes and brown hair with natural highlights. Just average and mildly underwhelming from how much you talked about Cedric.
He didn’t know what he was expecting but he wasn’t it.
He knew that witches and wizards didn’t always fly around on broomsticks and walk around in pointed hats and wild colored robes but he was wondering if this was actually the guy.
Still, he walked up to him and extended a hand to the boy, “Roger Booker.”
Cedric took his hand and shook it, “Cedric. Cedric Diggory.”
“This is good,” you thought, “He hasn’t star-“
“So, you are a wizard. Are you any good?”
Shit. You knew Cedric, he was going to try to impress your Dad and it was going to end terribly.
Just like you predicted, Cedric pulled out his wand but instead of firing off sparks, he simply went, “Lumos Maxima!” Making the room light up.
You looked at your Dad’s face, seeing very little change. You sighed, your Dad wasn’t trying to be mean, he just didn’t get it.
Cedric put out the light and looked at you, you smiled back. You all had walked to the lounge and sat down.
“So, Mr. Booker, what do you do?”
“I am a professional photographer. I take photos for events and special occasions.”
Suddenly an idea popped into Cedric’s head, he reached for his wallet, “Then I think you’ll like this.” He pulled out a photo of him and his family.
He handed it to your Dad and you watched as a pleasant soft smile formed on his face.
“I haven’t seen one of these in years. I took a lot of photos and we didn’t put up the moving ones because we often hosted parties and other people might… You know, ask a few questions.”
You grinned, “I vividly remember the parties.”
Your Dad laughed, “I remember you serving ‘drinks’”
“Drinks?” Cedric asked.
“He walked around with cups of chocolate milk. People, nit wanting to be rude, took them and drank from them. Turns out, the milk had gone bad. “
Cedric chuckled as you shook your head. “Well, in my defense, the milk was on the counter and it was easy to reach.”
“We all learned a valuable lesson that day.”After a few more embarrassing stories and happy memories, it was time to cook. You stood up and walked to the kitchen, leaving Cedric and your Dad to talk.
You brushed back your hair, washed your hands and put in your apron. For the first course, you were going to prepare a garden soup.
You grabbed a knife as you looked for the the yellow squash, zucchini, tomatoes and bell peppers. You reached for a large pot and set it in the stove, lighting it gas with a flick of your wand.
You walked to the pantry and pulled out some chicken stock, garlic, rosemary and thyme.
You swished your wand and watched as the knife slowly began to chop the vegetables.
You added the chopped garlic to the pot with a little butter to turn the garlic golden, you followed with the stock and aromatics. It was boiling when you added the vegetables and you turned it to a rolling simmer before putting on the lid.
You began preparing the sides for the main course: fondant potatoes and a mixed salad. You chopped the lettuce for the salad, you diced up some carrots and sliced some cucumbers.
You went to the fridge to grab some cheese to shred when you heard a loud thud and a shatter. You shut the door and ran to the living room.
You looked in horror when you saw it: your mother’s urn and ashes were on the ground. You looked at your Dad who looked as if he was about to explode with anger.
You pointed at the web with your wand, “Repairo.” The urn slowly came back together, your Dad opened it and pulled out his own wand, “Wingardium Leviosa.” The ashes began floating and he moved them to the urn and gently put them back.
“What happened?” You asked.
Your Dad was just hugging the urn so Cedric spoke. “The cat jumped up and she bumped the urn and it fell and I tried to catch it and I… I hit into the wall.” You walked to your Dad, who just turned and walked upstairs
You looked at Cedric with a sad but understanding look, “Thank you for trying to catch it. It wasn’t your fault.”
“Is he mad?”
“No. Just really sad. It hasn’t been easy for him. He… he misses her more than anything. He’ll sit down here and hold it when it gets really rough. He doesn’t handle change well.”
Cedric walked to you and took your hand. “I think it’s brave.”
“Him? Oh he really is.”
“No, you.”
You looked at him with confusion.
“Besides when you first told me about her, you never seem to grieve. Your Dad seems to do it a lot and you have every right to do it but you don’t.”
You sighed as you pulled him back to the kitchen, you shut the door. “It isn’t bravery. It’s just trying not to… lose myself in it.”
You were slowly starting to choke on tears you held back, “There are nights I cry so hard I can barely breathe and I give myself a headache. If I cried every time the urge and feeling hit me, I wouldn’t stop.”
Cedric pulled you into a hug and your tears began to fall. He held you tighter as the sniffles turned into sobs you muffled on his shoulder. He felt a few tears fall down his face as he silently listened to your sounds of pains and a few spoken words about fairness and how it hurt. After your breathing returned to normal with a few hitches, he let you go. You held a hand up to his face and wiped his tears, which made a few more fall from his beautiful brown eyes.
Suddenly the record player began to play, leaving the two of you confused, you turned to the door which you saw closing again. You smiled as you heard the song slowly fill the kitchen. Cedric and you decided to practice for the ball.
Roger Booker walked back upstairs, leaving his wife’s urn on the mantle. He walked to his room and grabbed a few picture frames including a small oval picture frame before walking back down stairs. He placed it beside the urn.
He watched for a minute as he saw the blonde woman smiling and laughing as she swung her son around in the garden. He watched as she swooped you back up into her arms.
He smiled as a tears dripped down his face and got caught in his mustache when the ran down the side of his nose.
He put up a wedding photo of her throwing the bouquet and him looping his arm around her waist, proceeding to spin her before kissing her.
He placed a picture of two little girls who were holding a baby on the wall beside a award he won for his photos.
He then put one final photo up. It was in the center of the mantle. You were seven and were forced to wear a bow tie.
Your older sister who was 12, was holding the cat and smiling with her braces shining and eyes glittering. The oldest who had just turned sixteen was standing beside your mother, looking like a spitting image of the older and taller woman.
The woman, your mother, the tallest, stood roughly in the middle. She was willowy and had a soft smile as her image turned to look at her husband.
Roger looked back at her before looking to the camera, he used to have chocolate brown hair and a full beard instead of just a mustache. He smiled as he evened up the photo, he took a few steps back and watched as the pictures of the wonders in his life moved.
He heard laughter coming from the kitchen as he walked back upstairs. Cedric was anything but average and he thought his son could do worse but it would be kind of hard to do better.
Cedric woke up because of a strong ray of winter sun. He rubbed his eyes before slowly opening them. He sat up with a light yawn and groan. He got up off his bed and he turned around to begin making it. As he straightened his pillow, he remembered something. He flung around and ran to his calendar, he then picked up a letter you had written.
Today was the day! You were going to come over this Thursday and on Monday you and him would side aparate with his Dad to Hogsmede and walk to Hogwarts.
Cedric ran to the bathroom to grab a shower and get ready. Due to his running, Amos looked up to make sure his son wasn’t about to fall through the floor or come down the stairs missing an arm. He sighed as he stirred his and his wife’s morning tea, she came to grab her cup before looking at him and grinning.
“Amos, do you remember what today is?”
He didn’t, “Well it isn’t our wedding anniversary. It isn’t February so it isn’t Valentine’s Day… No dear, I think I have forgotten.”
She huffed, “Today is the day we meet Cedric’s boyfriend!”
Amos sighed, “We’ll at least I was on the topic of love.”
She smiled and lightly laughed before walking to the window. “Do you think he’ll like us?”
“We’re great! The real question is if we will like him.” Amos said, lightly burning his tongue on the tea.
“Amos… This is serious! Cedric is absolutely crazy about him.” She said.
He sat down his cup and walked to her,“Carla, he’ll love us.”
Cedric had just got out of the shower and was looking at himself in the mirror, he ran a comb through his hair before drying and fluffing it out with his wand. He then brushed his teeth when he realized that you said you’d be there at ten.
He stuck his head out the door and yelled “Mum! What time is it?”
“Half past eight, sweetheart!”
He sighed in relief, spit out the foamed toothpaste, put on his bathrobe, and walked to his room where he right for his closet. He pulled on a pair of jeans and an off-white sweater, dug around, and found an old pair of brown boots. He got dressed and laced up his boots before walking downstairs. He looked at the clock to see only two minutes had passed.
He huffed, sad that it would still be a while til you arrived. Carla and Amos looked at each other, Amos sighed and Carla smiled. "Cedric, come to have a spot of breakfast, sweetheart," she said.
Cedric turned and walked into the kitchen. Amos looked at his son, whose sadness was on his face as he looked at the clock in the kitchen. "Ced, a watched pot never boils."

I'm going to say no matter what Cursed Child says there is no way that Cedric Diggory would have turned evil, he would've been one of the first to join the DA and would have gone back to Hogwarts immediately to fight. Don't even get me started on how Dumbledore would have recruited him right after he graduated to join the Order.

Susan Bones
Canon:
She was born around 1980
She's a Half-Blood. This means that either her father was a Pureblood (since her last name comes from his side) and her mother was a Half-Blood, or her mother was a pureblood and her father a half-blood, or both of them were half-bloods already.
Her wizarding family were rather powerful and respected during the First Wizarding War, but because of this most of her family were murdered by Death Eaters in the aftermath.
We don't know if her parents were murdered during this time, but the only relevant family of the Bones that is canon is Amelia Bones, Susan's aunt, but she was killed in July 1996
She was a Hufflepuff, in the same year as the golden trio.
She seemed to be friends with Seamus Finnigan and Hermione Granger, as Hermione and Susan were paired together for Herbology and DADA in their second year and both had a crush on Professor Lockhart during that time, although it's unknown if they were friends after that. She's also seen talking with Seamus during classes and DA meetings.
We do know she was good friends with the Hufflepufss in her year, Hannah Abbott, Ernie Macmillan, and Justin Flinch-Fletchley, all of who were also members of the DA. It's unknown if she was friends with Zacharias Smith, another Hufflepuff in her year, even though he did attend DA meetings.
In her sixth year, she splinched herself while attending Aparating classes, losing one of her legs, although it was later reattached.
She was a member of the DA Army, but it isn't known if she was present during the Battle of Hogwarts, although it is most likely since she did attend Hogwarts for her seventh year at that time.
It is also not confirmed in canon whether she survived the second wizarding war, although it is most likely since her name wasn't listed among the deceased.
We also don't know what she did in the aftermath of the war
My Headcanons and Fancast for her (some of these are info about the bones family as well):
Eleanor Columbus as young Susan Bones:
Tumblr media
Alice Englert as older Susan Bones:
Tumblr media
She was born on October 22nd, 1979
Her Patronus is a Beagle
Her wand is made from Willow wood with a Unicorn core, 10 inches long, and swishy.
Her star sign is Libra
She's a half-blood
Her parents were Oscar Bones (Half-blood) and Eleanor Bones (Pure-blood).
Her grandparents were Alfred (Pure-blood) and Dorthory (Muggle-born), and the parents of Oscar, Amelia and Edgar Bones. Edgar was the oldest, Amelia was the middle child, and Oscar was the youngest.
Her grandparents were nicknamed Alfie and Dottie
Since she was raised by muggles, Susan's grandmother grew up reading muggle literature, which she absolutely adored. She was the one to come up with the names for her two sons, who were named after Edgar Poe and Oscar Wilde, both muggle English poets
Her uncle, Edgar, had three kids with his wife, Edith (Pure-blood) Chester Bones (eldest) and two daughters, Theodora and Mabel, who all died in the war in 1981, shortly before Voldemort was finally defeated.
Edgar and Edith were both around 33 when they died, their son Chester was around 12, and Theodora and Mabel were around 10 and 8 respectively.
Her parents were murdered by Voldemort shortly after her 1st birthday in 1980, a year before the war ended. They were both around 24 years old.
Her aunt, Amelia Bones, one of the few surviving members of the Bones family, took Susan in just after Susan's parents' death and raised her as her own, she was about 28 at the time.
Susan would call Amelia aunty mum.
Although Amelia was quite busy with her Ministry work, she did try to spend as much time with Susan as possible.
Susan had lived in Godric's Hollow with her parents, along with her uncle Edgar, Aunt Edith and her cousins, although once Amelia became her guardian, she moved to Wimbourne. Her uncle and aunty stayed, as Edgar was working alongside the Order of the Phoenix and James and Lily Potter, fellow members, lived there as well, albeit secretly, and Edgar thought he should look out for the Potters.
The Abbot family also lived in Godric's Hollow and were close with the Bones family. They stayed at Godric's Hollow until Edgar and Edith Bones' deaths, and then they moved to Wimbourne to be with Amelia and Susan Bones.
Hannah Abbott and Susan would grow up together, and their two families would make the trip to King's Cross Station to see the girls leave for each of their years at Hogwarts.
Susan and Hannah were both obviously sorted into Hufflepuff.
Susan wasn't one to actually play quidditch, but she rooted for the Wimbourne Wasps.
She loved Herbology and the History of Magic, and eventually the extra-curricular subjects, Muggle Art and Wizarding Art.
You'd just constantly find her in the greenhouses working on her plants or sketching, drawing and painting. or pouring over history books from the library.
Susan and Hannah would become good friends with Ernie Macmillian and Justin Finch-Fletchley.
They were basically known as the Hufflepuff Four.
She developed a crush on Ernie in her second year
She was good friends with a few Gryffindors in her year, like Hermione Granger, Dean Thomas and Seamus Finnigan.
Dean was quite talented in art, although he didn't tell many people, and Susan was one of the few he'd show his artwork to.
Hermione and Susan would meet officially on the Hogwarts Express at the start of the second year, and the two loved discussing the book, History of Magic, both of them having read it thoroughly.
They were also paired in Herbology, DADA, and History of Magic, and you'd often see them giggling together.
Susan was the one to make Hermione open up very easily early on, which she wouldn't do around even her other close friends, Ron and Harry, until much later.
Susan was upset when Hermione was petrified during the second year, along with Justin.
She'd visit the Hospital Wing constantly, and took notes for classes for both Hermione and Justin.
Although they weren't necessarily close, Susan was an acquaintance of Harry through Hermione and was one of the few who didn't think that he was behind the attacks in the second year, and would tell Hannah and Ernie off when they were convinced he was.
And Susan was friends with Seamus through Dean and would confide in him about things, especially since his mother was also working at the ministry. Although, they'd get into a disagreement when Seamus didn't believe the trio about Voldemort.
During the third year, she'd pick Wizard and Muggle art, Muggle Studies and Music as her extra-curricular classes.
Hermione and she were in the same Muggle studies class, and they'd often study together, and discuss recommendations for muggle books and music.
She loved music class as well and played the harp.
Susan would be concerned for Hermione because she was aware Hermione was using the time-turner to take so many classes. Although, she did enjoy the story of Hermione punching Malfoy, and thought it was a good thing Hermione was letting loose.
Before the beginning of the fourth year, Susan's Auntie would get free tickets to the Quidditch World Cup because of her position in the ministry, and Susan would go along with Ernie, Justin and Hannah. She'd also run into a few of other her friends there, including Hermione, Seamus and Dean.
Although she was excited when Cedric was picked as Hogwarts Champion and thought that Harry should not have been allowed to enter the tournament, she didn't believe that Harry put his name in the goblet of fire. She supported both Harry & Cedric, and refused to participate in picking sides, unlike Ernie and Hannah. Justin was the same, as he learnt his lesson from 2nd year, realising that he shouldn't have judged without all the facts.
Susan stood by Hermione and didn't believe the rumours Rita Skeeter was making up about her. Susan was the only one who knew that Fred Weasley was Hermione's first kiss and not Victor Krum and that Hermione only viewed Krum as a friend.
Susan went to the Yule Ball with Zacharias Smith, mostly as friends though.
She was over the moon when she found out that Hermione and Fred were dating
Susan was saddened by Cedric's death. Although she was afraid, she did believe that Voldemort was back.
In her fifth year, she was upset when Ernie (who she still had a crush on) started dating Leanne, a Hufflepuff and friend of Katie Bell after they both joined the Hufflepuff Quidditch team to honour Cedric (who they had admired greatly) as a keeper and chaser respectively.
However, she started dating Zacharias Smith that same year. Zacharias was a Chaser on the Hufflepuff Team as well.
And Susan would read up on quidditch to support both her boyfriend and friend
Justin and she were also definitely the conspirators behind getting Neville Longbottom and Hannah together when they started noticing the two hanging out together a lot more.
Suan had previously been friends with Neville for a while, as they had been paired together for Herbology the year prior, but thought Hannah would be a good match for him.
She'd also joined Dumbledore's Army that year, and enjoyed the lessons., Susan was the one to convince her 4 Hufflepuff friends (Ernie, Zacharias, Hannah and Justin) to join.
However, this caused issues between Zacharias and her, the former being continuously sceptical of harry, Hermione and ron, and the return of Voldemort, whereas Susan believed it was true, and didn't like the comments her boyfriend would make towards her friends. After about 6 months of dating, the pair would split.
Note: Part 2 coming soon!

Been seeing a lot of “Harry Potter OC or Character as Yuu” and I love the idea. But I raise you:
Cedric Diggory as Yuu
It’s the funniest thing to imagine Cedric waking up in a coffin after from y’know his death and just being so, So Confused.
That also means he doesn’t blink an eye at the Overblots and NRC environment and sketchy students. He’s seen worse. He’s lived through worse and literally died due to worse. (Voldemort —well not exactly but y’know what I mean— Dementors, and just Hogwarts’s shit security and environment in general)
Plus could imagine the hilarity him actually being able to get back (regarding what we learned at the beginning of chapter 7) but just being like: “I’m not sure what will happen if I do. I did, like, die. I mean, I might be able to possess my body but it might be buried already. I don’t know how long in that world I’ve been dead for but I do want to try.”
Like I might make an AU out of this.

Tumblr media
Harry Potter :
Why you get jealous 👇🏻
A bunch of girls a year younger than Harry was swarming him inside the great hall during lunch almost fangirling at him because he was the chosen one, they were touching his arms, playing with his hair, whispering and giggling about him and some even ask for his autograph. Harry feels awkward but he was smiley and happy to be there as you sat next to your boyfriend rolling your eyes at the sight of girls going nuts for him and eating a sandwich with a book in your hands to distract yourself from the feeling of jealousy.
When he finds out you're feeling jealous 👇🏻
He's confused about why you're jealous at first but then figured out that it was because of all the girls that fangirl over him during lunch and apologize right away by holding you and looking into your eyes.
He'd convinced you to take a nap with him and cuddle, even if you don't want to he'd wait until you sleep before putting your head down on his chest and pulling you close to his body.
He'd try to recreate your very first date together and managed to convince you to get in on this, even putting on the same exact outfit he had on that day just to make you smile recreating the special memory.
He tries to show you off more to his friends talking about how amazing you are and how gorgeous you are, and how he couldn't be luckier nor happier than he is right now just to prove to you that you're the center of his world and that he loves you more than anyone and anything.
He tries to stay a little more lowkey to all the new students that get excited to see the boy who lived and saves those times when you aren't around just so he can focus on you when the both of you are spending time together.

Ronald Weasley :
Why you get jealous 👇🏻
You and Ron were sitting inside the Gryffindor's common room couch by the fireplace. The ginger boy instructs you to sit on his lap to make room for both Harry and Hermione as well, Ron wrapped his hands around your waist rubbing it warm with his hands while the four of you discuss something as a group before Katie Bell a friendly person who was very interested in Quidditch and happens to be a very kind and gentle person came up to your group to ask if the jacket she's wearing looks good for her date, everyone complimented her including you since she is a very pretty girl but Ron, in particular, was looking at her a little bit too much and was over complimenting her which made he smile at his response leaving your jealous.
When he finds out you're feeling jealous 👇🏻
Oblivious to why you're acting cold, ignoring him, and upset at him, he had to ask Hermione and Harry why you might act this way, and when he realized that you were feeling jealous he felt terrible and pulled you aside where the two of you can be alone and apologize while hugging you tight and showers you with compliments.
Picks you up your favorite food, treats, and drinks to make you feel better because he thinks food is the way to your heart which is factual, and before he hands them over he asks for a kiss and a hug as payment.
He usually asks you for help with any kind of school work instead of relying on Hermione and Harry but since you're mad and annoyed at him right now he relies heavily on Hermione and Harry for a study session so you don't have to deal with him and only comes to you to spend time with you.
He tries his best to give you space when you want it even if it's really hard for him to stay away from you and when he does give you space he's actually always pretty close to you but he isn't sure if you've ever noticed or not, he doe this just to make sure you're okay all alone.
He always serves you some food first but after the incident, he made sure to make the food into a cute little design on your plate just to make it a little extra special and to make you smile, this morning he decided to put a smiley face on your pancake with some blueberries and syrup on top.

Neville Longbottom :
Why you get jealous 👇🏻
You meant to go inside the library to pick your boyfriend Neville up after he tutors a Hufflepuff girl that's been struggling greatly in Herbology. Since Neville is quite gifted at the subject professor Sprout made him help the girl, resulting in a tutoring session twice a week before dinner time between the two at first you don't mind it what's so ever, you trust your boyfriend, and the girl but today's session made you feel differently, as you made your way towards the table they're sitting at with some sugar quills, Neville's favorite sweets in hand, you watched as the girl stroke Neville's arm and play around with his fluffy hair while Neville is quite visibly uncomfortable but he blushed and kept on reading out information that the girl may not know as you watched jealousy swarms over you, turning around to wait outside the library for him instead.
When he finds out you're feeling jealous 👇🏻
He'd feel extremally bad but kind of happy that you got jealous over that which means you care and you love him so very much so to fix it he went out of his way to go get you a bouquet of flowers, chocolates and his favorite hoodie inside a basket and he got down on his knees to apologize that he didn't say anything despite being uncomfortable with the Hufflepuff girl.
Usually the both of you would have quiet time together where you stay inside each other's dorm if you got to have it alone and would do your own things whether that's reading, studying, or listening to music just being in each other company but this time he tries to be brave and start a make-out session because he doesn't usually start anything he thought this would make you feel better.
He offers to do your homework for you, especially Herbology since you're not very good at the subject yourself, he's more than happy to usually help you out with it but since he felt bad about what happened he just offers to do the whole thing for you.
He decided to write a whole list in a form of a letter of all the things he loves and admires about you before putting it by your nightstand while you're asleep so you could read it as soon as you woke up.
He's a really good listener and loves to hear you talk about anything so he tends to ask a lot of questions every single day regarding you his girlfriend, so now more than ever he wants you to talk loads so you could forget about being jealous and also because he genuinely just care a lot about your day to day life.

Oliver Wood :
Why you get jealous 👇🏻
You ran over quickly towards the Quidditch pitch knowing that your boyfriend of 1 year Oliver would be there training with his fellow red and gold team, as soon as you spot them, the team was huddling in a small circle around Oliver as he shouts different strategies they'll be using to win the next game. You've arrived just in time to see him in his serious and focused mode before sending the team away to fly around the quidditch pitch 5 times to clear their head, perfect just perfect, you sneakily kiss his cheek as the smell of sweat burst in the air, Oliver was surprised at the kiss but turned around to find you smiling and is somewhat dressed nicely for just a visit, he kissed your forehead and wrapped his toned arms around your hips and asks why you got all dressed up for with a cheeky smile, the smile you had on your face is now wiped off, he'd forgotten about today so you explain dot him sadly that they're meant to go on a date today to makeup or all the time that he was to busy with quidditch or had some super intensive training with the team that he had to cancel the plans you both made, his face drops before explaining to you that he had forgotten and that the rest of his day will be all about quidditch per usual and that after he's going to have practice session with only the three chasers in the team which are , Angelina Johnson, Katie Bell and Alicia Spinnet which are all girls. You rolled your eye before leaving Oliver behind and going back to your dorm even if he was calling out after you shouting I'm sorry but ultimately he lets you go.
When he finds out you're feeling jealous 👇🏻
At first he didn't really see what the big deal was he tried to say sorry but once you've ignored him and given him the silent treatment for 2 days he came to his senses and tried his absolute best to get you to listen to his apology and even going as far as to do anything you want him to even if you want him to quit quidditch team he would do it.
Pays all of his roommates to let him have their dorm room for the night so he can set up a projector inside his shared dorm for a very special movie night, he arranged his bed nicely, grabs the best snacks from honey dukes earlier that day and even got the both of you a pair of matching pajamas which he knows you'll be more than happy to put on in hopes you'll forgive him and let him kiss you tonight.
You've always brought up an idea to make a handshake but he's always been too busy to make one and to actually learn to remember it so this time he asks if the both of you can finally make one and despite you being upset and annoyed he got you to agree to make a really cute and long one with a kiss at the end of it.
He pretty much cancels anything quidditch related this week despite being the captain and having a match against one of the houses next week, he shuts them all out and encouraged the Gryffindor team to do some individual training or do a group on without him for a little bit so he can spend all his free time with you all day every day as an apology.
He decided to make a bucket list for the two of you, and list all the things the two of you might want to do and it has to be completed before the both of you graduated from Hogwarts this way he can balance while also managing his time as a student, quidditch captain/player, and a boyfriend well.

Draco Malfoy :
Why you get jealous 👇🏻
You and your boyfriend Draco were sitting inside the great hall during a free period and so did a couple other students as they all scattered around the 4 grand and large benches studying or talking quietly amongst themselves and some friends, today, in particular, was just the two of you so the both of you chose to sit on the Slytherin table near the front where the staff seating was visible and was chatting about something funny, Draco has his left arm warped around your waist and was facing you the entire time tucking loose hair behind your ear while you giggle quietly at the conversation you're having with him. All of a sudden a certain girl in a Slytherin robe marched into the part of the table the both of you were sitting on and low and behold it was Draco's ex-girlfriend who'd been unfaithful to him, she marched down to Draco's side and completely ignore your existence before saying how sorry she was and how much she wanted him back, she even dared to say that she's so much better than you were and that no one can come close to her leaving you visibly upset before she can say anymore Draco pulled her aside and talked to her quietly holding her right wrist before she takes off giving you a dirty look.
When he finds out you're feeling jealous 👇🏻
Watch as you get all mad and annoyed over being jealous before he states that he doesn't like your attitude/tone and that he's going to fix it for you if you don't fix it yourself soon, then he proceeds to grab you by the neck and pin you against the wall before a make out.
He gives you multiple hickeys on a very visible spot on your neck and says that this is a mark reminding you that he only wants you and you only, he's also doing this to show the others who you belonged to.
He'd get you a piece of very expensive jewelry as a sorry gift and proceed to genuinely apologize for making you feel that way as it was not his intention to do so.
He'd verbalize the word I love you a little bit more after that, even saying it in public and Infront of his friends as he didn't care how cheesy it might look to them as long as you're happy, he's happy.
From then on he ignores his ex and pretends that she doesn't exist and only focuses on you, sitting beside you in the classes you have together, sitting with you during meal times, and openly doing PDA or cuddling in the Slytherin common room's couch.

Cedric Diggory :
Why you get jealous 👇🏻
You and Cedric were walking hand in hand out from Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom as it was the last class of the day, the both of you discussed something quite funny that happened during class heading straight for the middle courtyard where you and Cedric group of friends are usually gathered and sitting on the grass area together. The both of you spot your group before settling down to sit with them, you and Cedric sat next to each other of course but today he asked if he can lay his head on your lap as he was feeling a bit tired, his request put a smile on your face as you pat your lap free just for him and once you do he didn't hesitate to lay down. Today seems to be a perfect day, all the classes you've had today were easy and smooth, and the sun was shining nice and bright which made the outdoors exceptionally warm and beautiful but before you can appreciate all the good things a familiar-looking girl has made her way towards the group, it was your bully, she's been picking on your ever since 3rd year and was disappointed that the guy she's madly in love with for years had fallen in love with you instead. She called out Cedric's name loudly silencing the rest of the group as she went on to say how much she loves him and how he deserves so much more than somebody like you, but all Cedric did is told her to go away and that no one could come even close to somebody like you, you are irreplaceable to him, the girl left crying her eyes out leaving an awfully awkward silence within the group but keeping your jealous visible.
When he finds out you're feeling jealous 👇🏻
He'd smile about it and think about how cute it is that you got jealous even though he stands up against your bully and would try to kiss you and hug you trying his best to apologize without giggling at your adorable face.
When it's raining outside despite it being cold and you still being annoyed and mad at him he takes your hand and begs you to come outside with him, and once you do he pulls you by the waist close to his and kisses you in the rain.
He usually writes you a love letter once a week but after this incident, he likes leaving cute little notes as well whether it's inside your books, on your bedside table, or even under your pillow just to make you feel special.
He sets up a little picnic in the tree areas near the great lake with some of your favorite foods and a scrapbooking activity with photos, mementos, and little notes from all the times you both did something special together.
He'd take you to the perfect bathrooms for a nice relaxing bath together while making sure no one will come in when you two are in there, he even lights up some candles, throw some flower petals into the bath water, and have 2 glasses of pumpkin juice ready so you can forgive him fully.

Fred Weasley :
Why you get jealous 👇🏻
You and Fred have been dating for a little over 6 months now and one of the perks of dating the Weasley twins is that they're hilarious and love to make people laugh and smile through their crappy yet clever jokes or mischievous pranks and with a perk comes a con, and the cons of dating the Weasley twins is that most people take fond of them as well, wanting to be their friends or even date them, especially younger girls. The clock inside the Gryffindor common room strike 8:30pm as the sound of soft and feminine giggles roars through the couch area leaving you irritated, looks like Fred has found a cure to his boredom. You've been studying for about an hour now and you don't like being interrupted while studying so you usually instruct your boyfriend to go do something fun by himself with George until you finish but looks like he decided to wait on the couch before a couple of younger girls below him swarms him asking to hear some of his jokes, some was sitting quite close to him, some girls was whispering about him and some even warp themselves around his arm, you whip your head around form the desk beside the couch to find the feeling of jealousy very much present in your heart.
When he finds out you're feeling jealous 👇🏻
At first he was laughing because he thinks it's funny and cute that you're jealous but when he realized you're really upset at him he got worried and apologized while trying to pull you into a hug.
He tackles you, plays fight, and picks you up like a sack to make you laugh and make you feel better even if you just pushed away and he won't let you go until you laughed.
He puts on some music on his shared phonograph with George and plays your favorite music before getting you to slow dance with him.
He gives you options to hit him or humiliate him Infront of others because he felt really bad for making you feel this way and he isn't worried that you'll seriously hurt him because he knows that you won't do that despite being mad and annoyed.
He surprises you by asking his mom if you can stay in the burrow with Harry and Hermione during the winter break and maybe if she could knit you a sweater as well of course, she accepted because Molly loves you and thinks you're the best match Fred could ever get, which leads you into forgiving Fred.

George Weasley :
Why you get jealous 👇🏻
You and George were sitting inside the library trying to study for an upcoming History of Magic pop quiz in tomorrow's class, well tried to study anyway, but George wouldn't stop rubbing your thigh under the library wooden table and even trying to get under your school skirt but you kept his hands very much innocent and away from your skirt not allowing him to go further, it made you giggle like crazy but he pretends to stay focused on his A History of Magic textbook smirking to himself when you weren't looking. After about an hour you ask George if he can find a book about all the past ministers of magic which he can find on the shelves right in front of the table the both of you were sitting at, he agrees and gives you an mhm not forgetting to plant a kiss on your cheek before getting up trying to find the book you needed. Not long after a girl who's known to be one of the Weasley twin's biggest fans is looking at all the books on the same shelves as George, but let's be honest here she knew what she was doing, she's trying to get close to George and interact with him completely ignoring the fact that he has a girlfriend right there on the table. She pretends to try and reach for the books on the very top shelves knowing she couldn't reach them. George noticed her struggles right away before reaching for the book she was amazing for, here you go he says handing her the book with his pretty smile, you watch the whole ordeal play on before the girl blurted out the word thank you, Georgie, and got on her tippy toes kissing his cheek leaving George flustered and confused by a surprise leaving you incredibly jealous and upset.
When he finds out you're feeling jealous 👇🏻
Is so compassionate and apologize right away that you felt this way and just try to listen to your concern and worries before kissing and attacking you until you smile a little or at least giggled.
He knows you love messages, especially ones from him after a long and stressful day of classes but he decides to offer you one every night after the incident with the girl to make you feel so much better and would hopefully forgive him sooner or later.
He turned to his mom for help by asking her in a form of a letter to knit a matching jumper with a big heart right in the middle of it just for you which Molly agrees to do since she's very fond of you and George together as a couple, it took her a bit of time but eventually, she mailed it over to Hogwarts to him so he can give it to you.
Let you do whatever you want to him so you can forgive him and pretty much begs for you to pick something, he'd rather you do that than give him the silent treatment plus the death stare.
Piggyback you in public or carry you around school walking to class or meal times because that's what you've requested and doesn't complain once, even though his back is starting to hurt from doing this all day every day, as long as you're happy and have forgiven him he's relived and will keep his mouth shut about the body aches.

Why you get jealous 👇🏻
You and your boyfriend of 6 months Blaise are sitting on one of the Slytherin's common room leather couches, holding each other close and talking to a few friends that were around there as well, after a few minutes those friends left the both of you alone heading up towards their room to start getting ready for bed, as all of you wish each other a goodnight one of Slytherin girl who just came into the dungeons was collecting mail form the owlery gathering a few other students letter as well and handed one addressed to Blaise himself before moving on to the others who's also received letters, he gave the girl an appreciation nod before tearing open the letter after looking at the information in front, informing him on who it's from. The sound of parchment being ripped apart caught your attention back to your boyfriend, you look curiously at the letter before asking who it's from, your guess was his mother or perhaps his grandmother, but Blaise excitedly smiles and says that it's a very special letter form one of the most amazing girls he'd ever known beside yourself. Your face displayed sheer confusion before your boyfriend blabbered on about how she was his childhood friend who's currently attending Beauxbaton academy of magic, he was talking about how brilliant she was, how beautiful she is and how much the both of them adore each other and had the same amount of love for expensive jewelry. He read the letter after blabbering and kept a joyful smile on his face leaving a slight feeling of jealousy blooming in your heart, you didn't want to feel this way as she was only just a friend but the way he talked about her pushed you over the edge.
When he finds out you're feeling jealous 👇🏻
At first, he was confused as to why you're acting like this but then understood after a bit of thinking he tried to explain to you that he doesn't like her in any way more than platonically, she's his childhood best friend after all and tries making it up to you by taking you on night walks every single night just the two of you before bed which he knows you'd absolutely love. He also made sure to apologize during the walk where the stars and the moon twinkle brightly at the top of the blackened sky above the both of you to make it romantic.
He Suspires you with a romantic dinner in hopes you'll forgive him fully for the incident that happened.
He takes you out shopping in Hogsmeade during the weekends and pays for everything that you've put in your basket and even encourages you to get more and more things to keep you happy and because he's more than happy to spend his money on you not worrying about running out or anything due to the mass amount of money his mom's exes have left them.
He set up a self-care day for you by painting your nails and styling your hair making you feel special and beautiful while letting you feel relaxed at the same time under his care.
He lets you have a girl's night to forget all about the incident and picks you up afterward walking you to your dorm room safely.
