😍 Death in the Spires (KJ Charles, author; Tom Lawrence, narrator) - historical murder mystery set in 1905 Oxford - another KJC absolute banger: incredible sense of place, fantastic characters, perfectly done 'whodunnit' tension and a HIGHLY SATISFACTORY resolution. Loved every word

2022 Reading Wrapped

Keeping track of everything I read this year was a daunting but rewarding task! I jump from all types of media when I read, from library books, to physical copies, audiobooks, fanfics, comics, and graphic novels, and there just isn't a great place to keep track of all of that! So I kept a reading log on my iPad all year and here are some of my highlights!

I want to shoutout to all the amazing fics I read this year! So if you'd like to read any of these too, have at it! They were all amazing 😊

You Have Nothing to be Sorry For by hopeofnyan Fandom: atla Pairing: Zutara Word count: 2680 Summary: Katara does not deal well with being repeatedly abandoned and Zuko is the first person she talks to about several buried emotional burdens.

If There Was A Place I Could Call Home ( It'd Be in Your Arms Tonight) by tarotea_ji Fandom: atla Pairing: Zutara Word count: 1545 Summary: Sometimes winter nights are cold and lonely. Katara seeks out Zuko for company and they spend some quality time cuddling and talking. i.e. where two people are utterly in love with each other and just aren't ready to accept the extent of their feelings get a little bit closer to realizing. they are so soft for each other.

Also the title is based off of lyrics from Soren by beabadoobee. maybe that could be a song to listen to while reading this!!

Hopeless by tullyblue12 Fandom: atla Pairing: Zutara Word count: 56558 Chapters: 23/23 Summary: Kids grow up fast when a cruel world awaits them. In times of hopelessness, Katara and Zuko grow together. In times of separation, they hope to see each other again. ^This one does come with a content warning but the subject matter is very fade to black/you only see snippets in flashbacks, it's enough to know what's happening but not graphically depicted at all. But do be warned if you can't read any content that even mentions the R word. Also note that everything that happens between Zuko and Katara IS consensual

This page was the winner of 6 other compositions (censored — one day they will be posted in their own time). It takes direct inspiration by the theming of Bdubs’ HCS7 thumbnails in the comic-book style, particularly the episode Bdubs get his iconic big beautiful eyes and smile x]

IN THE NICK OF TIME (3L)

In another universe- the right portion of the set would have been a continuation of the S7 theme, imitating that of an actual magazine spread with recaps and shit (rejected— too much research u_u)

The happenings of HCS7 and 3L overlap, and I wanted to visually show that mirror transition between the two series. The 3L page for that reason was harder to manage without being too different or too underwhelming to its HC37 counterpart. This page is dedicated to his season finale POV of 3rd Life ft Day 1 Crew (and Tango)

Interest Check!

For anyone who doesn't know, Dungeons and Daddies the Manga is a project I've been working on for a year and a half, beginning way back in September 2022. It's been a yonkoma-style recap manga, where I chose four moments from every episode of the podcast to make into comic strips, and just an hour ago, the very last pages dropped. It's been a huge project I'm very proud of, and now I'm looking into the potential to sell physical copies.

Some of you might be thinking: "why would I want to pay money for a physical book when all the pages are available for free online?" The physical edition of Dungeons and Daddies the Manga would not only include the 212 pages of the manga and 53 "end card" illustrations, but there would also be an included merch bundle with stickers and postcards. And if I can get support for the physical edition, I will be making 24 physical edition-exclusive pages, 4 pages for each episode of Sons and Sonsability and Dadatha Christie. These pages will never be posted on Tumblr or in the DnDads Discord, they will only ever be for supporters of a physical manga, and if I don't make the physical edition, they simply won't exist at all.

Please share this around to your podcast enjoying friends! I'm not looking at percentages in this poll, I'll just be calculating the number of people voting "yes." And please only vote yes if you really mean it. I don't want to spend time and money on something and then not break even on it.
