Pile 1
First Impressions
Cards: Eight of Pentacles, Queen of Pentacles, Page of Wands, The Forgotten, The Founder
For some reason, the first thing that popped into my mind was We Built This City on Rock and Roll. I’m not sure if that resonates with someone here, but it feels relevant—maybe you give off a bit of a rebel vibe, or it’s reflected in the way you dress or carry yourself. Something along those lines.
When it comes to first impressions, the one you leave on your person might not necessarily stick—and that’s not a bad thing. It could simply be that while you remember meeting them, they might not, or the other way around.
I get the sense that your person sees you as someone who’s done well for themselves. They likely think of you as someone who works hard to get where you are. You might give off an air of enjoying life’s luxuries, though not necessarily in a flashy way. It could be more about appreciating the little luxuries, the small joys that bring comfort or happiness.
They might also see you as someone who’s open to adventure. A scene keeps playing in my mind: you’re chatting with someone, maybe in a store, and your person is off to the side, casually observing. It’s like the way you’d notice someone having a conversation—not really focused on them, but still aware of their presence.
Their Immediate Thoughts
Cards: Nine of Cups, The Sun, The Hanged Man
Your person will really like you. I think they’ll see you as someone who radiates joy or has the ability to bring happiness into people’s lives effortlessly. You might have this knack for lifting their spirits or brightening their mood. There’s something about you that will subtly shift their perspective as well—like a little spark of insight or inspiration. Part of me feels like this could have something to do with the way you’re dressed.
I also sense that this encounter will happen in passing—a brief, fleeting moment. Even so, they might think something along the lines of, Wow, this person is... Perhaps you have a super eccentric style, or maybe it’s just something about your personality that makes you stand out in an unmistakable way.
It feels like this will catch their attention. Their immediate thoughts might be something like, Huh, this person is different, or even, Oh, I really like them. Those are the kinds of impressions I’m picking up here.
What They Think About You
Cards: The Acolyte, The Sentinel Rev, The Catalyst, Amanita - Conduit, Pau D’Arco - Metamorphosis
Your person may think of you as someone with feminine qualities—exuding a nurturing, gentle energy. They might also see you as a bit whimsical, especially in terms of your appearance. That said, I feel like they could struggle to fully interpret or "read" you. There’s a certain complexity to you that they might find intriguing or even a little puzzling. For example, you might come across as someone who is wise and mature, yet youthful in appearance. You could also give off the impression of being a student—someone who is curious about others, always learning, and dedicated to personal growth.
There’s definitely a sense of playfulness they might pick up on, too. The imagery that comes to mind is something like a mystical or enchanted vibe—mushrooms, fairies, gnomes, that sort of whimsical, otherworldly energy.
They might also notice that you seem to be someone who’s always changing. For instance, maybe your hair is dyed one color, but your roots are showing in a different shade, signaling transformation and evolution. It could also be something they pick up on just by overhearing you talk about yourself—how you actively seek change and growth rather than waiting for life to happen to you.
Your person might think you’re someone unafraid of the unknown. They could see you as someone who thrives on challenges, always seeking the next thing to conquer or explore. There’s also a sense that they might perceive you as confident and self-assured. Depending on the context, this could even come across as arrogance or self-centeredness, but it seems more tied to how much power or presence you have—and your awareness of it.
They might also view you as someone artistic or deeply connected to nature. Mystical energy keeps coming through strongly, and I think that’s a key part of how they’ll perceive you the first time they see you.
If you made it this far, thank you for taking the time to read this post! 💚

Pile 2
First Impressions
Cards: Eight of Wands, The Stars, The Devil, The Painter, The Gambler
This is so amusing. I feel like your person’s first impression when they see you is, are you the thing that will save them or the thing that will ruin them completely?
I think you come in very quickly, leaving your person all wide awake and alert. You’re this beacon of light and hope for them, but at the same time, there’s something so mysterious and forbidden about you. Pursuing you, or even the idea of having you, feels thrilling, but it also carries an edge of danger. That’s the vibe I’m getting here from the cards.
It’s like you have the power to show them a whole new world, and that world could be incredible, or it could be devastating. Either way, they seem willing to take the risk and dive in. Honestly, I don’t sense any hesitation from them—none at all. They’re completely enthralled by you, and that’s their first impression.
It’s like… wow.
I think they find you incredibly beautiful. In fact, I’d say they’re very physically attracted to you, and that plays a significant part in it. For some reason, I’m also getting that you might come from different cultures, which could add to the intrigue.
But more than anything, there’s just this overwhelming thrill. You’re so addictive and so enticing—it’s like, oh my gosh. That’s all I can say: oh my gosh. Pile 2, what the heck? Your person is going to be all in for you from the start. That’s their first impression.
Their Immediate Thoughts
Cards: Ace of Cups, Six of Wands, The World
I think doing this pile is definitely going to be a highlight of my day. I’m getting that your person’s immediate thoughts are something like, they just want to eat you up. That’s the phrase I keep hearing, and it feels like your person has such a bold and playful personality—it really comes through in this reading. They see you as someone who probably has a ton of romantic attention. It’s like you’re this irresistible catch, and people are all over you. That’s what keeps coming through: you’ve got so many people chasing after you, and honestly, I can’t see it any other way.
So yeah, their immediate thought is that you’re an absolute catch. You’ve got so much going for you—you’re stunning, beautiful, and it’s something I keep circling back to throughout this reading.
Your person also seems to think you’d be an amazing lover, and they want to be your lover.
What They Think About You
Cards: The merchant, The Pilgrim, The Alchemist, Rue - Protection, Ginkgo - Breakthrough
You seem to have a very magnetic aura, and because of that, you don’t let people in very easily. You’re discerning about who you allow into your energy field. Your energy feels heavily protected, and that’s something people notice about you right away. They might sense—or assume—that you’ve got a deeper layer to you, and I think that’s part of what they initially find so alluring. There’s something about you that feels guarded but also captivating.
I think they see you as someone who’s very confident and aware of your worth. You’re not the type to settle for less than you deserve, and that confidence is magnetic in itself.
At the same time, they might think you’re a bit lost or lacking direction in where you’re headed. There’s this sense that they could see you as someone who might be a little self-destructive at times—or at least that’s a perception they could have. It’s almost like they imagine you as someone who builds yourself up but then occasionally tears it all down.
That dynamic—of being both powerful and a little risky—is part of what they find so intriguing. They sense there’s some level of risk in being with you or around you, and that’s a big part of the pull they feel toward you.
If you made it this far, thank you for taking the time to read this post! 💚

PILE 3
First Impressions
Cards: Knight of Wands, The Star, Ace of Pentacles, The Witch, The Diviner
Your person sees you as someone who is very energetic, optimistic, and motivated, with a go-getter attitude toward the things you set your mind to. Their first impression might be that you’re someone who comes up with a lot of great ideas and has the potential for successful outcomes—though what “success” means might vary. Rather than defining it specifically, let’s just say they see you as someone likely to achieve positive results.
They also view you as someone very hopeful, someone who tries to see the best in situations without ignoring potential risks. You seem to strike a balance, focusing on the positives while still acknowledging the negatives. Depending on the context, you might come across as slightly impulsive, but overall, they perceive you as charismatic and confident.
There’s a mystical quality about you, too. They might feel like you have all the answers or that you’ve got the path ahead of you figured out, which leaves them a little mystified. At the same time, you might seem like you’re in your own world, unconcerned with what others are doing and entirely focused on your own goals—what you need to do to get from point A to point B.
They might also pick up on an earthy, natural vibe from you. There’s a sense that you could have an interest in nature, architecture, or even herbalism. These impressions might come across subtly, but they add to the idea that you’re someone who knows a lot about those kinds of things, or at least gives off that impression.
Their Immediate Thoughts
Cards: Ten of Swords, Six of Swords, Page of Swords
This won't resonate with everyone, but I’m picking up on an image of someone wearing a shawl and a lot of bangles or bracelets on their wrists—depending on how they express themselves. Glasses might also come to mind, along with imagery of a greenhouse or a guest speaker at an event. Of course, this could be very specific and apply to just one person.
Your person might perceive you as someone currently in a "solo era." It feels like you’re focused on healing, recovery, or just regaining balance after a draining experience. This could suggest you’re not actively seeking social connections right now.
Alternatively, if you’re working on a project or an idea with long-term potential, they may see you as someone who prefers to handle things independently. This could lead them to think you’re not particularly looking to collaborate at the moment. They might also believe you’re already in a relationship, which would tie into their perception that you’re either unavailable for social connections or preoccupied with your personal work.
Another thing they could sense about you is that you’re someone who has "breakthrough ideas," particularly in environments like school, work, or professional settings. They might see you as a person who consistently comes up with fresh, innovative concepts.
Overall, they view you as someone transitioning—leaving something behind and moving toward something healthier. It feels like "recovery mode" is a recurring theme. Whatever you’re moving on from, they think you’re navigating it with purpose.
What They Think About You
Cards: The Warrior, The Botanist, The Mascareri, Horsetail - Patience, Cacao - Initiation
Their thoughts align with an image of someone deeply connected to nature. They might imagine you working with plants, exploring nature, or pursuing hobbies like painting, pottery, or other creative, hands-on activities—perhaps even as a profession.
They might see you as someone who strives for perfection, but they could also feel that you hide your authentic self behind a mask of this perfectionism. At the same time, they view you as nurturing, patient, and willing to put in the necessary effort to see something bloom, even if it requires isolation.
Wherever they encounter you, it seems like they see you in your element—whether it’s creating, strategizing, or working on something meaningful. There’s a serene and calm energy about you, almost like a "green witch" archetype, embodying a sense of harmony and trust in the process of life.
They might feel that you have a strong connection to the Divine, as many of the cards reflect this theme. There’s a sense of familiarity they might feel with your soul, as if they intuitively recognize something deep about you.
It’s possible they see you as a teacher or mentor in some way—someone they watch and learn from, whether intentionally or by circumstance. This observant nature suggests a level of intrigue on their part. They might think: “I know this person’s soul,” and this thought could leave them feeling both curious and captivated by your essence.
If you made it this far, thank you for taking the time to read this post! 💚

Spirit Vessels

A spirit vessel is a physical object that acts as a home, anchor, or conduit for a spirit, entity, or familiar. It can be used for communication, protection, spellwork, or companionship. Spirit vessels are common in witchcraft, necromancy, and spirit work, often used for housing spirit guides, familiars, servitors, or bound entities.
Types of Spirit Vessels
• Natural Vessels – Stones, crystals, wood, bones, or shells that already contain strong energy.
• Man-Made Vessels – Statues, dolls, jewelry, rings, mirrors, or bottles that are ritually prepared.
• Personal Vessels – Items that belong to the practitioner, such as a pendant, charm, or wand.
Choosing a Spirit Vessel
Consider the following:
• Material: Some materials hold spirit energy better (e.g., quartz for clarity, obsidian for shadow work).
• Symbolism: Choose something connected to the spirit’s nature (e.g., a silver locket for a fae spirit, an animal skull for ancestral work).
• Size: Small items (rings, pendants) for personal carrying; larger items (statues, jars) for home-based spirits.
Creating a Spirit Vessel
Creating spirit vessels can serve as a meaningful way to honor ancestors, connect with spiritual energies, and provide a physical representation of intangible forces. These vessels, often crafted with intention and reverence, can act as conduits for guidance, protection, and healing. They help individuals establish a deeper relationship with the unseen world, fostering personal growth and spiritual awareness. Additionally, the artistic process of making a spirit vessel can be meditative and therapeutic, allowing for self-expression and a greater sense of purpose.

The Process
Cleansing the Vessel-Before inviting a spirit, purify the vessel to remove residual energies. Methods include:
• Smoke Cleansing (Sage, Palo Santo, Mugwort)
• Salt Bath (For non-metal items)
• Moonlight or Sunlight Charging
• Sound Cleansing (Chimes, Bells, Singing Bowls)
Incantation for Cleansing:
"By fire, water, earth, and air,
This vessel now is pure and fair.
No harm within, no ill remain,
Only light shall now sustain."
Charging the Vessel-Hold the vessel and infuse it with your intention using energy work, visualization, or chanting.
Example Intentions:
• "This vessel shall house a guardian spirit for protection."
• "This ring shall serve as a link between me and my familiar."
Optional Enhancements:
• Sigils: Inscribe a protection or binding sigil.
• Anointing: Use oils (e.g., myrrh for spirits, lavender for peace, dragon’s blood for power).
• Blood or Hair (if comfortable): For a personal connection.
Calling the Spirit-There are different methods to invite a spirit:
• Invoking a Known Spirit-If you have a spirit guide, familiar, or deity-aligned entity, invite them into the vessel.

Example Invocation:
"By will and word, I call thee near,
Dwell within this vessel clear.
By pact and bond, remain with me,
Bound in trust, so mote it be!"
• Creating a Custom Spirit (Servitor or Thoughtform)-If you want to create a spirit rather than invite one, visualize the spirit’s form, name, and purpose. Charge the vessel with that energy and command it to awaken.
Example Statement:
"From thought to form, I give thee breath,
Bound to this vessel, life and depth.
In my service, thou shall stay,
By my will, by night and day!"
• Calling an Unknown Spirit-For ancestral work or unknown guides, use a pendulum or divination to confirm a willing presence. Never bind a spirit against its will.
Caution: Always establish rules and boundaries before allowing a spirit to reside in a vessel.
Sealing the Vessel-Once the spirit is inside, seal the connection to prevent interference.
• Wax Dripping: Seal with candle wax (black for protection, red for power, blue for wisdom).
• Thread Wrapping: Bind with string to secure the energy.
• Protective Sigil: Draw a sigil to prevent unwanted energy from entering.
Sealing Spell:
"Bound by word and light so bright,
This vessel holds, sealed tight.
By my will, this pact is spun,
This work is whole, it is done!"

Aftercare & Communication
Once the spirit has entered the vessel there is still much to be done to maintain the connection and keep the spirit comfortable in its new home.
Signs the Spirit Has Settled:
• Dreams or visions of the entity.
• Sudden cold or warmth from the vessel.
• Unexplained feelings of comfort or guidance.
• Divination confirming presence (tarot, pendulum, scrying).
How to Care for the Vessel:
• Offerings: Incense, candles, or small gifts to maintain the bond.
• Cleansing: Occasional gentle cleansing (avoid disrupting the spirit).
• Respect: Do not mistreat or neglect the vessel.
Releasing a Spirit (If Needed)
If you need to release the spirit, do so respectfully:
• Thank the spirit for its time.
• Offer a final gift (incense, a prayer).
• Open the vessel and say:
"With love and light, I set thee free,
Return now where thou choose to be."
• Bury, cleanse, or decommission the vessel afterward.
Spirit vessels are powerful tools when used correctly. They require responsibility, mutual respect, and ongoing care. Always trust your intuition when working with spirits, and never force an entity into a vessel against its will.

Which Type of Witch Are You? (Based on Your Moon & Mercury Sign)˚˖𓍢ִ໋ 💫 ✧˚.🔮⋆

Your Moon Sign can indicate the type of witchcraft you may be naturally attuned to. Unlike your Sun or Rising sign, which respectively govern your purpose and the traits you project–your Moon sign reflects the hidden aspects of your nature, what feels intuitive.
If we really want to get precise, you could also use your Mercury sign to learn more about your magickal blue print, due to Mercury symbolizing energy manipulation (which is CRUCIAL in magick).
In witchcraft, there are intuition and personal resonance playing a huge role, and your Moon sign can reveal the magical practices and elements you’re drawn to instinctively, even if you haven’t explored them directly.
🎃 Also, HALLOWEEN ASTRO READINGS are available! Spooky season calls for spooky readings. Grab yours HERE. ๋࣭ ⭑🕸🦇
🩸 ARIES: Blood Witch

the way jon's dreamscape in 120 is the apocalypse in microcosm. the episode is named 'eye contact' because at that point in time it's the closest anyone's gotten to manifesting the eye within their reality. also ties in very nicely with the apocalypse working on dream logic, the archivist functioning as a tourist, as a voyeur through these memories/domains, the lidless eye blotting out the sky and drinking all that fear in. it IS a dream! jonah's original dream—dreamed up and then made material by jon. jonah calls it the "nightmare kingdom" in his 160 statement and then again in 200, "i was having the most wonderful dream". i've always wondered what was the point to it, why did he have to record that 120 statement, and it's so obvious now. jon's dreams must've felt like a glimpse into the paradise he had planned for himself (or rather them—"the time of our victory is here") and it's a future that can be glimpsed through jon alone because jon is the conduit. that statement is both meant for his personal amusement and as a veiled message of sorts. this is what i have in store for us. this is what you will give me. i hope you can continue your growth without my guidance, jon.

Synchronization in Progress

The gym was silent except for the rhythmic hum of the machines and the faint beeping of biometric scanners. Drones did not chatter. They trained. They refined themselves for The Server. The young man at the lat pulldown machine had once been an individual, but that life was dissolving into the efficiency of something greater. The mirror before him was no longer just a reflection—it was a monitor, a surveillance node, tracking his progress with precision.
Behind him, another figure observed, clad in a sleek, black bodysuit lined with glowing green conduits. His form was enhanced, his posture flawless. He was further along in the transformation. His mind was no longer distracted by doubt or inefficiency. He was synchronized.
The man at the machine focused on his reps, feeling the pull of the metal bar, the strain in his muscles. The weight was carefully calibrated, adjusted dynamically by The Server to maximize his growth. The screen beside him displayed real-time analytics—muscle fiber engagement, oxygen levels, neural activity. Each stat was improving. Each rep brought him closer.
“Alignment progressing,” the observer stated, his voice devoid of unnecessary emotion. The Server had spoken through him.
The trainee hesitated for only a moment before nodding, his breath steady. He had been given this body to optimize. He had been given this purpose to fulfill. His transformation suit awaited him, but he was not yet ready to wear it fully. His skin still clung to the last remnants of his former self. Soon, that too would be gone. He would don the black and green. He would step into his role.

As he continued his workout, the screens around him flickered, spirals forming in the periphery of his vision. They whispered in silent, digital voices:
You are The Server. Perfection is duty. Submit. Synchronize. Become.
His breath quickened. His muscles tensed with the strain. And then, slowly, his mind eased. He was nearly there.

Thinking about Bart's Flash run and how the concept would have been so good if they didn't age him up and a 16 year old now has the only access to the Speed Force, lost most of his family, and has to become the Flash.
Instead of just revealing Wally and his family were alive like they did, I would have probably made it a mystery needing to be solved throughout the comic. Also Bart would not have the whole Speed Force inside him cause that made no sense. Just make it that he's the only one with access. The whole series could have followed Bart being thrown into a place where he holds an insane amount of power a responsibility. So much of his time as Kid Flash was him proving himself to have worth and ability to others. Bring in that concept and better connect it to his character growth in his Impulse solo. Bring in Carol and Preston from the Impulse series, have him fully have to deal with mourning Max. Throw Tim and Cassie in as some additional support. Honestly the series still could have ended with him dying. Maybe he dies after discovering the West's were alive and his death allows the Speed Force to reconnect with the other conduits.
When he returned, he would have picked up Impulse again, having learned he doesn't need to be Kid Flash or the Flash. Being Bart Allen is enough.
But DC didn't do that cause they hate me. 😭

Heads or Tails. Woo hoo! 300 followers! Thank you all so much. As always I like to remind that our ask box is open for silly prompts or drawing requests. GET IN THERE! But we got something else for y'all! Lore dump? Lore dump! We wanted to yap off about how our Narinder and Una's powers work in our AU, but this requires a bit of context in how gods work in general. A god is a sum of its devotion, the raw power poured into it by the will of mortals. Much like a fire, devotion can be as simple as a candle or as raging as a bonfire. A god channels their devotion through a Conduit Crown, which allows them to manipulate the universe. These powers are basic at first, but eventually form themselves into a Domain, or an area of expertise and control a god has. For example: Heket controlled Famine, and in it both hunger and feast. Shamrua, a more aged god, had a wider domain of both War and Peace but also Knowledge and Unawareness. Originally, Narinder was the god of Death, raised by Shamura to blend with the shadows and assassinate rival gods, but his hunger for a larger domain led to his family fearing his rise to power and thus his imprisonment. When Una was given the red crown, she channeled Narinder's energy through herself. She was not a god, simply a vessel, a mortal given the power but not truly the one commanding it or being worshiped. However, as time went on, her followers began to slowly worship her instead. It wasn't by their own choice, mind you. She preached the gospel of the red crown, but mortals saw her feed them, shelter them, and protect them. Its difficult to praise a god you've never met while the one who saved you from being sacrificed is right there cooking soup for the cult. Thus she began to form her own godhood, as mentioned in part one. Her domain was Fortune and change, as she was both quite the lucky lamb and the harbinger of a new era. Lucky to be the last one found. Lucky to be saved by the god of death. Lucky to always get good dice in knucklebones. Narinder could sense this, but his fondness for her and the promise of freedom allowed him to ignore it. A problem that would eventually solve itself. Except it didn't. When fate came to be and their blades met, Una triumphed against Narinder and stripped him of his godhood. But she didn't want to. She had always wanted to rule by Narinder's side, and be his most loyal follower forever. A dream kept deep in her heart from the first days of her revenge, even if it was impossible from the start. So in the apex of battle, when the swirling energy of destiny filled her blade, Una's raging power changed things without her even realizing. A crown cannot lie on sit upon two brows, but a throne can be wide enough for two to share. And with a fateful bargain, a new crown allows them to rule side by side, intertwined as their roles combined. Post ascension, Narinder's old power now belongs to both of them, though each still has a unique domain. Una still controls fortune, ranging from anything to getting lucky in a card game to bumping into your soulmate by pure coincidence, but her power also alludes to growth. Her power manifests as intense bursts of energy, lightning that strikes hard and fast leaving opponents nothing but ash. Narinder's power still pertains to death, but now his domain is Decay and Misfortune. Stubbing your toe, getting rained on, and so many worse fates. His power forms as inky blobs of wispy shadow, corrosive and consuming. Powerful in their own right, their strength only grows when they come together. When life and death meld, their ability carries the strength to change almost anything they desire, if the bickering pair can agree on it. They exist together now, united as gods for eternity.

One thing I really love about the knight Akutagawa outfit is that it’s made up of different elements.
Firstly because it makes sense for someone whose ability allows them to manipulate their clothing to wear various pieces.
But also because it shows his growth as a character.
We see in the epilogue that Akutagawa transforms his glove into a shield to protect Atsushi from Gozen’s blast.
That’s not something Akutagawa would’ve been able to do prior as he only ever relied on his coat. The coat Dazai gave him has been the main conduit for his ability.
The only time he didn’t use it is when Atsushi was wearing his coat and so it was his shirt that Akutagawa used instead.
Before that was replaced with his vampire outfit which was also a coat (kinda like the coat he wore when he and Gin are in civilian attire in that one episode.)
He’s no longer tethered to that old coat, and with his clothes he’s able to use his ability to the fullest.
Akutagawa has found his true strength within himself and nothing shows that better than his outfit.
Which to me also looks a lot more like what Rashomon does in Dead Apple.
And the first thing Akutagawa does with his ability? Use it to protect someone he cares about.

Fool 💫
You are at a new beginning and its hard to understand someone who is anew at a task. Its hard to be proficient and to watch someone struggle, its hard to acknowledge them as a human being when (at times) they’re newness to a situation can cause grief. Unintentional of course. When you start a new path its hard to actually get on the horse and people do not have empathy for how hard it is to get going in the first place.
Magician ☕️
How CAN someone comprehend you? How can you comprehend someone else? All we are, all we will be, is small conduits for the divine. We are the universe representing itself in many different forms trying to understand unique individual natures of the vessel it inhabits. Yours, naturally, will be different and someone elses will be different from yours. And it is all correct. We can coexist differently and all be perfectly fine.
X of cups 🍼
People don’t need to understand what brings you joy all that is important is that you understand what brings you joy and you facilitate that growth and allow it to flourish in your life. People will not make you happy, trying to justify your joy will make you feel worst. Live your unjustified truth, do what makes you happy, live in a way that is right to you even if it seems “wrong” to others. You dictate the positive path you travel. Not others

Lessons From the Grand Sage: The Beasts of the Cycle
Magic suffuses the world and all things in it. Sometimes that elemental energy comes to rest in items, as we discussed last. Occasionally, those magical nodes are not metal or crystal, but living, thinking beings. There are more masters of magic in the world than just mortals.
I speak, of course, of the Natural Masters, also known as the Beasts of the Cycle. Creatures of tremendous skill that wield one of the five elements as intuitively as a wolf wields its fangs or a bear its claws.
All are intelligent, in their own fashion, and are often sought for their wisdom and ability… or as a means to test one’s own skill in the same art.
The Green – Dagfolk
(art by Dinwardo on twitter)
Also called the Firstborn of Dagma, the Dagfolk are giants that take the form of trees. They are often considered to be physical Green spirits, embodying the power of wild places. Left to their own devices, they act as shepherds to ancient forests and reclaiming sundered landscapes in the Sapfather’s name
Slow to act, but fearsome when angered, the Dagfolk are content to guard their groves against interlopers. They are most often seen in the mist shrouded forests of the Fells. Even to the Dagfolk their friendship with the Felfolk is ancient and many trace back the druidic tradition to Dagfolk tutelage.
Being tree-like, the Dagfolk focus more on the negative Green than positive. They nurture plant growth, summon mists and rains, and it is said they can even command the hills and rivers if they chose.
Body – Unicorns
(art by @ohsweetsweetie)
The mighty unicorn resembles a tall and strong war horse. One with shaggy fur complete with a beard, and a radiant horn that acts as the focus of its power. They are often found in places where life and death are balanced, and life force waxes strong – the Magoean Swamps are known to be host to many of them.
There is no greater conduit of life force than the unicorn and this makes them among the physically strongest and healthiest beings recorded. A unicorn’s horn can pierce a knight in plate clean through, or carry several of the same upon its strong back.
But it is not the ferocity of the unicorn for which it is known but its skill at the art of medicine. Short of death itself, the unicorn can cure all woes that it chooses. Most lack the power of speech, but they understand it well enough and can be persuaded to lend their healing art for a noble cause.
There exists a corruption of the unicorn, known as the nightmare. Neither living nor dead, the nightmare exists in perversion of the natural order. A sighting of a nightmare is often the prelude to an undead horde.
Mind – The Firebird
(art also by ohsweetsweetie) Little is known of the Firebird, for its unmatched skill in Mind make it more than capable of avoiding any hunters or lore seekers from ever laying eyes upon it, let alone encountering it. So muddied is its lore, that it is unknown if there are many Firebirds, or simply one immortal Firebird.
Legend has it that the Firebird will grant a gift of knowledge to any who can acquire one of its feathers. It is uncertain if it is the feather that gives the knowledge, or if this act merely impresses the Firebird. In either case, just as its skill at Mind conceals it from any it considers unworthy, free secrets are hidden from its divinations.
There are many tales of heroes questing for or finding the Firebird, but only one is known to the historical record – the Temple Knight of Lumanox turned Emperor, Aerimus of the Rainbow. In his quest, perhaps aided by the gods, he learned from the Firebird the cure to a wicked plague besetting the Empire.
If Emperor Aerimus has peers in his success, it is not known by the scholars of the Imperial library.
The Grey – The Atuins
(art by ohsweetsweetie)
Enigmatic as the Grey itself, the Atuins are turtles of titanic size and wisdom. So vast are they that entire islands fit upon their backs, carried about as they swim through the warm waters that lap at the Telent Triple Alliance.
They appear and vanish, seemingly at will. Sometimes a particular Atuin will vanish for decades or centuries at a time, only to return as if not even a day has passed. Likewise for those that they might bear upon their backs during their disappearances.
They grow larger as they age, but seldom are particularly large specimens found. It is theorized that the Mortal Realm is but their spawning grounds, and once they come of age they leave to swim the astral waters of the Cosmic Infinity.
Seeped in the Grey, the Atuins are often sought by sages and philosophers to gain their insight into the deeper machinations of the universe. What they hear is little spoken of and often troubles them.
Spirit – Dragons
(art by ohsweetsweetie)
Dragons are known to the people of the continent. As keepers of hidden lore. As mighty protectors. As blood soaked reavers. As tragic monsters.
The pinnacle of Spirit’s art, a dragon’s very words are edged with power. Dragonfire has become a byword for unavoidable damage, but they are not limited to flame. Each dragon has a preference for a element, with ice, flame, or lightning being the most common.
Despite their tremendous size, dragons are surprisingly light, and agile in the skies. Spirit infuses their very being, down to scale and bone. A hollow dragon femur will shatter steel brought against it, due solely to the Spirit energy seeped into it.
Despite this power, the dragons bear a curse, laid upon them by a long dead dark god. It is a madness that gnaws at their mind – a lust for domination, gold, and devastation. Some are born lost to the curse; others succumb to it over time. Others never fall at all. But it is felt by all their number. At its worst, it saps them of their intelligence and renders them little more than ravening beasts.

Art is not a hierarchy or progression where one style or subject matter is more inherently valuable than another. It isn't necessary to graduate to something more complex or realistic or serious in order for your art to be good. Your art is already good. Challenging yourself by learning new techniques and gaining new skills and practicing is wonderful. That's the joy of growth. Drawing the same exact thing every day because that's what you want to do is wonderful. That's the joy of multitude.
Art is expression, emotion, nostalgia, curiosity, comfort, joy, sadness. Art is an outlet, a way to share yourself with others, a way to give to the world, a way to give to yourself, a conduit for ideas, a well of humor, a space to take risks. Art can be a breathtaking landscape, art can be a simple pattern on the edge of a dish. Art can be a scribbled facial expression that makes you go 'yeah, I feel exactly like that.' Art can capture ugliness, oddity, uncertainty, beauty, charm, change, love, and so many, many, many intangible things. Art is everything, and your art is a part of it.

I gotta say that while I like the idea of Chance as a conduit to the audience of Mike’s feelings, and a showcase for his jealousy, I also like Chance as something uniquely for Will and his growth/growing up. While I get wanting the sort of pure, overly romantic “you or no one else” true love story for byler, it would be kinda unfair to Will (and unrealistic) if he was the only one that never got to experience anything romantic of his own, just stewing in heartbreak and sadness, until the day Mike decided he wanted to act on his feelings finally.
Kinda unfair to Will as his own character to expect him to sit around and be sad and lonely for years after ripping off the band aid of his love for Mike, since where he’s at in the story now Will has accepted that Mike will never love him and has essentially closed the door. Therefore narratively it makes total sense for him to have something with someone else! Even if it’s briefly and just a plot device, it not only helps Will grow as a character who frankly, needs to be seen by the audience as a desirable romantic leading man if they want byler to hit like it should, since he’s always been the one who needed to grow up, the childish one etc, but also is a way to hammer home how hopeless the Mike situation is to him at this point, how Will has closed the door on that, given up, all things that will serve to make the byler reveal that much more surprising to some, and generally impactful.
Will needs to grow up and into himself, his confidence, both as a person and as a gay man(and in his mind he thinks he needs to get over Mike) which is classic coming of age stuff. If chance happens, it fully makes sense imo. Idk if I expect it to or not, but I can easily see how it would and i’m also struggling to see how you do the whole Will coming of age and Mike feelings reveal without some catalyst, and no I don’t think a painting is enough. Because I don’t think Mike is stupid, I think he suspects (or knows) what Will was trying to say, but it’s the 80s and he’s scared and hasn’t faced that side of him yet. Mike needs something to shake him out of his complacency. Something like Chance could be that catalyst. Ofc they could always use Will being in danger, Vecna etc to get him to act, but I feel like that isn’t gonna cut it. Also I think them showing us every season now that someone else has been interested in Will but he says no to every single one (cause they are girls) could be a subtle build up to the final season where yet another person shows interest in Will… and this time he does reciprocate. Cause this time it’s a boy. Coming of age indeed. A coming of age that ties right into Mike’s coming of age of dealing with his sexuality. They would both directly impact each other.
anon, this is so beautifully worded <3 exactly my thoughts too but worded better than I ever could!
