So. Vent about systems cringe. We ended up getting posted there and it was mostly our alter intros. Which whatever. And we just wanna vent since the person we usually speak to for comfort and venting isn't awake right now. Obvs we know systems cringe sucks and they're all just assholes and ableists.

But the fact that they completely misconstrue our words. First it was a joke we made about our programming as we had come out of a breakdown and ranted about it (we are a tbmc survivor) and then now it was our alter intros and like one or two of our light hearted posts. Pretty relieved they didn't post our very angsty rants that DO dig into trauma. They acted like we were making a mockery of the disorder because it's actually suffering because they specifically chose our cutesy alter intros and our very few recent light hearted posts.

I knew it would only be a matter of time before they found us. Makes us paranoid since we have a history of harassment. Even if our profiles weren't shown, our accounts still feel easy to find and stuff.

The biggest thing is how faceless these asshats are. I would love to just fucking block them and never have to worry, but no. So they can just have access to all of us and post it to mock us.

We aren't shocked we eventually got posted and despite our paranoia, we have no intentions of stopping. It's our one safe outlet that gets the thoughts out of our head and allows us to cope with a lot of stuff. Which none of this is new for places like systems cringe or fake disorder cringe. It's just pathetic really. Assuming so much about someone based on a cutesy aesthetic-ish bio they made for their alters to feel seen and all of that.

Plus the assumption all of our alters were programmed or we said that. The only time we put "programmed alters" in tags is when it is talking about a specific alter. We say we are a programmed system and a tbmc survivor. The alters we allow and are okay with being seen are ones not intrinsically linked to programming or our trauma, usually fictives. Pretty sure we even said that in one of the posts, but our memory might be wrong.

You just gotta love people wanting to simply attack mentally ill people that don't fit their idea of what a disorder should look like and for posting happiness. We feel like shit posting dark shit all the time even though our system accounts are for that. So us posting silly posts gets us posted to systems cringe apparently. Shocker. And the fact we have 0 control is triggering to us in many ways

Ultimately we'll be fine. Our accounts are nothing more than essentially journals and we've come a long way since first starting to exist openly as a system. I'm used to people making assumptions about us based on our bios and stuff. We've flat out faced people assuming we were abusive for our disorders so we don't ultimately mind even if it is triggering.

It really is just pathetic. Truly. I don't remember why we ended up on the subreddit again. We were looking at something else and happened to trail onto it. But whatever.

Also a lot of our programmed alters are not ever going to be publicly named or ones more personal because we cannot guarantee our safety from our abuser. So yeah. Of course stuff is gonna be focused on the alters that are recent or goofy or light hearted.

Just...Just frustrating. Just really need to vent about that cause otherwise we will have repetitive thoughts until we can get it out.

tw for RAMCOA discussion, though it's nothing bad i don't think

is it ableist for alters to use number names and say you have sidesystems when you aren't a RAMCOA system? we're a system- not RAMCOA- who has a few alters with number names who have ended up having to change their names incase it was offensive to RAMCOA systems. we've seen a BIG amount of systems say number names aren't exclusive to RAMCOA and say they aren't that deep, but a small amount of people (including a few friends of ours) have said that they are exclusive, even though we'd never even heard of them being exclusive before. even if the alters just generally have number names instead of actually being numbered in order, those few friends kinda look down on them and talk shit about them? so our alters end up feeling mega pressured into changing their names

also, we've had sidesystems for YEARS and been using that term instead of just subsystem because it feels more correct. (since they're a separate part of the system who has no contact at ALL with the main system, and who tend to not know about eachother. which we definitely have) and a very small amount of our friends have been saying sidesystems are RAMCOA exclusive even though we couldn't find ANYWHERE that that's true?

but yeah tldr; is it ableist/offensive to use number names (even though they're not used in the same way RAMCOA number names are) and the term sidesystem if you're not a RAMCOA system?

First one no, second one yes.

I myself am a RAMCOA system and have alters programmed with number names. A lot of survivors will also agree with me when I say that non-RAMCOA systems using number names makes it easier for survivors to hide, because we cannot change our names that easily, and so normalizing number names makes us stick out less, especially to handlers looking to find their victims. (Edit: one of our programmed parts agrees, they'd actually like to voice their concerns on this matter in a reblog)

However, I hate to tell you this--you do not have sidesystems. Subsystems can act similarly to sidesystems, like having no contact with the main system. We have several of those. Side systems are another collective entirely and are unique to RAMCOA systems. I'm sorry, but you're either misinformed, or are in fact a survivor--in which case, please don't rush to figure things out. It's not fun.

Yes, it is very ableist to use the term sidesystems if that's not what they actually are, in the same way endos using the term system is ableist. I hope this helped, and keep yourself safe anon ^^ (literally, keep yourself safe, not KYS. i have to specify this bc of the internet lol)

which, because people in this fandom kind of sugarcoat that or don't see it for what it is, is human trafficking. evil morty isn't just some morty who got tired of a rick, hes a human trafficking victim who was likely passed between more ricks than he can remember. he's witnessed so many deaths and so much systemic morty torture that he's desensitized. the way he scanned all of those rick's brains mimicked the fucking dead morty disposal line.

so, no, evil morty isn't just "some morty who got sick of a rick," he literally apologizes for being such a high maintenence morty to make his rick shut up. that isn't something a regular grandson says that's something a grandson who has been trafficked and used by vile versions of his grandpa in such amounts that his life is unrecognizable without it.

he has discovered the oh hellos. this is the only fully good thing. (apart from the fact that we've been crying listening to them over and over)

the second time our therapist tried to talk to him, he kept repeating 'i'm not supposed to say', including in between phrases where he was absolutely saying something important. eg: 'the cat, i'm not supposed to say, is next to us, i'm not supposed to say, and he is, i'm not supposed to say, purring.' he would also say things like 'i'm not supposed to say yes'. he's trying. but the urge is so strong every time.

the third time she talked to him, he asked what he's supposed to do now that he doesn't want to help our abusers. we didn't resolve it completely, he still thinks he needs to be following someone's directions, but at least that someone isn't an abuser anymore. his new job for now is to listen to the rest of us and apologise when necessary. we're getting somewhere with him.

internally, there's a lot of 'i don't understand' and 'it's not fair'. he's angry that we were programmed. that's good. we found a name we really like (anastas) and idk if we're gonna let him have it or if we're all gonna go by it, but he likes it.

I think I just figured out who the hell my group was the one that’s done all of this to me. I have had intense therapy sessions regarding this subject and I feel sick just fucking typing this but it was my childhood church I went too. I always thought something was up there I mean for fucks sake we had to devote all our money, time and love to that damn church and worship the damn leader there and always give thanks to the family. The kids there including me were used sexually! And physically abused! I feel disgusted I might actually throw up im shaking just writing this im so scared i don’t know how to handle this revelation of my past! What the fuck! Im pale my skin is legit turning pale that’s how scared I am I fear I might have just set a program off since I am 70-80% sure that they programmed me and the other kids there. I remember we had to go to this all-day summer thingy where we’d spend the night there and we’d read the Bible all day and do other religious activities. Sorry if I’m rambling I feel sick and it’s like I’m losing my memory as we speak. I also remember being made to be metaphorically rebirthed by god and I was wrapped in mats and told to fight my way out while being held by my arms and legs by 1 woman and 1 man and once I fought my way out I had been birthed again by the lord and reborn in a sense. A warning for trauma survivors looking for online support

You may have come across the acronym "RAMCOA", which stands for "ritual abuse, mind control, and organized abuse."

If you search the Internet for RAMCOA, you might come across a result like this:

If you click the link, you'll be taken to a site that briefly describes what RAMCOA supposedly is, with content like:

MC - Mind Control. A shortened form of TBMC, standing for Torture Based Mind Control. MC is also known as programming, where victims are repeatedly tortured starting at a very young age to intentionally cause a system of dissociated parts that function perfectly to suit the abusers' needs.

alpha : a base program, one of the very first implemented. it trains the victim's mind to accept every order given by handlers willingly. parts with alpha programming will often have no will of their own, and very little personality outside of following orders.

aiw : alice in wonderland. typically split into 3 different sections : black alice, white alice, and crazy alice. ideally, a system scripted with aiw would have all three. white alice makes sure the system forgets the trauma, black alice makes the system feel like theyll be a danger to others if they remember the trauma, and crazy alice makes the system think theyre making it up or going insane if they ever remember it.

Literally all of this comes from a conspiracy theory - specifically, the Project Monarch alter programming conspiracy. It was developed and pushed by far right conspiracy theorists. Most of what people run into specifically traces back to Fritz Springmeier, a man who claimed in the 90's that the fight for gay rights was part of a plot to enthrone the antichrist in the year 2000. The Project Monarch conspiracy theory was always adjacent to the Satanic Panic, if not a somewhat niche part of it. If you start checking citations, you will find many of these people citing Svali, a conspiracy theorist who gets a lot of her material from Springmeier. (Example 1, example 2.)

This is no accident. The term RAMCOA was created by the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD), which was created by and for psychologists who believed in the myths promoted during the Satanic Panic.

The RA part comes from "satanic ritual abuse," which was coined by Dr. Lawrence Pazder of Michelle Remembers (cw for descriptions of horrible abuses) fame. Lawrence Pazder is the man who effectively started the Satanic Panic. It cannot be overstated that Pazder, now a known malpractitioner, was considered the expert on ritual abuse during this time.

The MC part comes from "trauma-based mind control," which was coined to refer to the alleged abuses inflicted in Project Monarch. Parts of this conspiracy theory that can't be traced back to Fritz Springmeier can usually be traced back to Cathy O'Brien and Mark Phillips, two other (really racist) conspiracy theorists.

Ultimately, the entire conspiracy theory is constructed from tropes that go back to The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion (a known antisemitic hoax), blood libel, and early modern witch panic.

Searching the Internet for RAMCOA resources, ritual abuse, or trauma-based mind control will always bring you to conspiracy theorists.

(Also, the term OEA, which stands for "organized extreme abuse," will lead you to conspiracy theorists as well.)

So yeah, if you're looking for support, be very wary of this stuff. It will absolutely not help you heal; just the opposite.
