Ashes knows their song must be dramatised since the song claims that their skin burned, but only their lungs were mechanised, so they must have died simply of smoke inhalation. They can also no longer remember if they really were a level-headed detective as they were in the song, or if they simply died in an arson attack gone wrong, and destroyed their whole world, along with everyone they ever cared about, over a mistake.

Do we know what sorcerers name their kids?? Like obviously the adults have weird names, but do they name their kids normal old names to have them blend in better? Is it like little Jeremy spends a week going through a dictionary and then goes to his parents like my name is Meanderous Effervescent now and his parents are like ok :) so glad to see our little boy is growing up :)

Pre transition Vanya choosing Viktor because it was the name Five was supposed to have. He chose it to rmr his brother and Five being shocked when he comes back. He isnt surprised at his brother transitioning, Viktor had already told him about all those thoughts when they were younger anyways.

He’s surprised he chose that name. Five himself had refused the name in rebellion to their father and demanded that their father give his sister a name instead of just Number Seven. That day she got Vanya. And then he wasn’t Vanya anymore but took on Five’s lost name in honor of him.

How to find a name that is you

I just saw another post where someone couldn't find a name that felt like them/'is' them, and since I overcame that after years of struggeling, I need to share how I did it.

"I cannot find a name that feels like it's me. I find names that I think are cool but they quickly feel wrong after the novelty wears off, sometimes after hours sometimes days."

I feel you. I had the exact same struggle and now I've been with my name for a while and it's probably the one I'll stick with. I did all the same things you did and the names never ended up being 'me' even if they were cool as heck. What helped me was a change in strategy. I asked myself "what purpose does a name serve?" -> describing me in one word and giving people a first impression. And that ended up being where I went wrong. I did find cool names but not my name. Because I ignored myself in the equation.

So what I did was exersices to visualise who I am, like writing all my defining characteristics and hobbies (And who I WANTED to be!) down

and narrowing names down by criteria of what I personally wanted regardless of what name it was. (Like no foreign name, however beautiful they might be, realistically I should pick a name that doesn't make me sound like an anime character, and most noun names because they don't work as well in my native language. English people can call themselves rain and i am jealous.)

But yeah, tldr; find who YOU are first (or who you want to be, ideally both), so you know what you are even trying to name.

(And don't let people stress you into making a decision, I had a placeholder name for years) sorry this is so long but it's a topic close to my heart so I wanted to be thorough.

Learning who you are (especially if you're young/a minor) takes time. So, so much time. And sometimes you just have to be patient and put in the work. Do not stess about it. You don't owe anyone anything. And having a placeholder is also perfectly valid.

Something I haven't experienced until now is being gendered correctly (and very consistently gendered correctly) while also being deadnamed. There's something very funny about that - kind of camp, even. It sounds like I'm a drag performer who has a very interesting choice of stage name
