A gender diary is a really good idea! I have a notebook labeled "Gender Ramblings" where I write terms I like, practice pronouns, write down names that sound really good, and keep track of dates when I discover new things about my gender. I highlight recommend it for anyone! - 💙💚

I've been questioning my gender for over half a year, but only questioning it in phases where, at one point, I would be like "oh, yeah, there's NO way I could be anything other than a cis girl," and a few weeks later I'd go down the questioning spiral of "but do I actually *feel* like a woman? Hmm,"

I never notice a very obvious shift in my gender, and don't have any dysphoria aside from feeling like somethings just slighly... off, when I'm in the "am I cis" part of the phase. I experimented a little bit with dressing like a guy during that and was actually surprised at how euphoric it felt, but at the same time, I love being a woman and I feel it fits me well, at least two thirds of the time. The woman feeling is never really gone, it just, I guess, fades a little every so often while agender and maybe demiboy show up (at least, that's the best way I can describe it)

So, in short, I like my agab but sometimes feel like a boy, and I don't know if the feeling is strong enough to justify me not just saying I'm cis.

Alrighty, so first off, disclaimer: if you feel like you’re not completely and exclusively your AGAB 100% of the time, you are entirely justified in saying you’re not totally cisgender. If you feel comfortable ID-ing as cis then that’s great! But if you don’t feel like that fits entirely you are absolutely allowed to ID as non-cis. Also, you don’t have to use any label if you don’t feel like any fit!

All that aside, here are some different labels that came to mind while reading through this:

Umbrella Term: Genderqueer (essentially any sort of gender experience that is not the “standard”)

More Specific Terms:

Genderfluid (gender changes over time)

Fluidflux (gender fluctuates and changes over time)

Demifluid (part of your gender is static/doesn’t change and another part of your gender does change/is fluid)

Demiflux (part of your gender is static/doesn’t change change and another part of your gender fluctuates)

Demifluix aka demifluidflux (part of your gender is static/doesn’t change and another of part of your gender changes/is fluid and fluctuates)

Bigender (Identifying as 2 genders, either at the same time or varying between the two)

Bigenderflux (Identifying as 2 genders that both fluctuate in intensity; there is a better explanation with examples if you go to the link!)

^^There is also trigenderflux aka triflux which is essentially the same but with 3 genders instead of 2.

Those were the main ones that I thought of, and all the labels have links to a wiki that describes them in more detail! I’d recommend looking through the links, especially if any of them stick out to you /nf. If anyone knows any other labels, feel free to add on!

I wish you luck on your journey with your gender, wherever it might take you! Keep in mind that it’s perfectly fine to change labels over time, be unlabeled, use multiple labels, or be unsure. You should always go with whatever feels right to you!

Demifemstatic is a gender identity coined by me which is basically having at two feelings of gender, one of which is female or feminine in nature the other something else like non-binary but it could change. It's similar to Demifluidflux just the primary is feminine.

there was a case of a cis woman feminist who lived as a man for a while and did a 180 on her opinions on gender politics (i think her name was nora or something iirc), but she's not suddenly a man just because she saw the world through a mans perspective. and im not going to treat a trans woman any differently just because she breaks with feminist orthodoxy or whatever, especially because a trans woman who thinks that men have it worse is objectively and measurably correct.

and likewise im not going to fault a trans man for thinking that women have it worse even if they should fucking know better. its an unfortunately common misconception among cis men too, because most men are mentally enslaved by misandry from both tradition and feminism.

My point wasn’t that it’s accurate to call a trans woman a man, my point was that I am mean and if a trans person wants to refuse to give up their socialisation and act like the one they were socialised, then they may as well still be it. But the thing is, I don’t really care so much. I’m just mean.

male and female socialisation is very important even if gender is neurological. They change a lot of way people function in many aspects in life. Male socialisation is traumatic even to cis males. Female socialisation actually has more benefits than male socialisation but it’s still not good per say.

I don’t think men have it worse, in fact: I don’t think either sex group “has it worse”. I think it’s just unique challenges that are different. The only main difference is that women’s issues and mistreated are very much seen as real and important but men’s are not. I don’t think we live in a monarchy cause that would be impossible. Do I think it’s a true patriarchy? No. But I do think society still has the left over remainder of a patriarchal society. This doesn’t mean that men don’t suffer and women can’t benefit though, on the contrary - women who benefit in patriarchal society can benefit ridiculously. Performing the same crime will have a lesser sentence because they think women are too stupid and fragile to do such a thing. Oh poor stupid and weak woman. And that belief system is still used in a more sub conscious way. We just don’t think it, it’s more engrained in society to think man performs crime = totally meant it but for women, they can get sympathy and lesser charges for no reason besides being a woman.
