There's something to be said about how disability rep in fantasy is more often than not in found in characters that are more than a little evil. It has to do with our perception of disability and how it relates to morality, but somebody smarter than me could probably write a whole essay on the topic.

That being said you can take classic fantasy characters like Raistlin Majere and Elric of Melnibone out of my cold dead hands.

#there's also something to be said about how they're often mages #and the relationship between disability and otherwordly/magical #which of course is saying nothing about the complex topic of blindness and prophecy #is this all a little ableist? yes #do I love it anyway? also yes #if a modern author wrote this in 2024 I'd peace out but DragonLance was published ib the mid 80s #and Elric was published in the 70s #so they can have a little pass so we can learn from them #this has the same vibes as the Evil Bisexual trope #fantasy #ableism #if anybody says disability doesn't belong in fantasy I'm coming at them with 40 years worth of classic fantasy novels #also I made a mistake Elric was first published in 1961

How often does he go back to that moment #How often has he imagined himself saying or doing something different? Something that would've resulted in them leaving that bunker togethe #Meanwhile Lunar lost the person who gave him a new life and a family that actually cares about him #And he was in Moon's head for months and saw first hand how much his regrets and trauma affected him #Both of which would eventually destroy him due to the cycle of self-loathing he was trapped in #How much does HE think about that?#Anyway sorry for not posting for nearly (checks watch) two years??#It'll likely happen again #1k

#i think this was day ttttwwooo... yes bc I was doing especially bad that day and made 12 of them back to back #ANYWAY!! so these are the starters #this is before I added the teal into the mix but these are most of the colors otherwise #pinks / yellows / a couple blues / offwhite / black / dusty purple / brown #i have teal and burgundy in the mix now because i'm letting the colors be whatever #obviously I really love the sunflowers which is why I'm wanting to put repeats of those in there #but in general i'm going to let the squares be different from one another and i won't be arranging #the squares in any specific order when it's time to sew them all together #also having ones that are just One Or Two Colors #i really like the way it breaks it up

Absolutely loving the fact that, despite Dracula being adapted to death and back by media over the last century, a lot of people don't actually know the original story. As in, here we are, in 2022, tagging spoilers for a 125 year old novel that most people thought they knew from it's countless adaptations but turned out to not know at all. It's great. I love it. Thanks for sharing your first-time reactions to this comedy of an old book.

Something I love about Heartbreak High is how when we first see Amerie's perspective of what happened at the festival everything is good and Harper is happy and jokes around with her but then when we see Harpers perspective you suddenly notice how unsure and uncomfortable she actually is. Like she doesn't smile as much and it's a little more fake and she's being much more serious, for example with the "I think my house is haunted" moment and also when her dad texts her. But Amerie didn't notice. Which is why she didn't realize something was going on with Harper and why she couldn't imagine that anything had happened that day. In her memory everything was great and perfect when it in fact wasn't. And I think that's a really cool way of showing both their perspectives because while overall they both remember the same things, their perception of How it happened is different

#i love love looove when shows do that #like showing the same moments twice but with different acting from the actors to show how the different characters percieved what happened #and here you can clearly see it #you can really see how amerie and harper had such different memorys of that day #so of course harper being mean to amerie and ignoring her comes out of the blue for amerie #because she didn't notice #and then you see harpers perspective and suddenly you see that actually everything wasn't great #anyways #good show!!!!#amazing show!!!!!#oh also something i noticed just now because i continued watching the scene from harpers perspective #when harper says no to taking the drugs and amerie is like 'what so i just do them by myself'#amerie sound angry #like she sounds really pissed off at harper #but then in amerie's version she's more confused and yes a bit annoyed but definetly not angry #like that's a huge difference #so yeah anyways #that's it for now #heartbreak high #amerie wadia #harper mclean #lea's random thoughts

The fact that then when you inevitably think about crossovers you don't want the crossover with the canon you want it with your specific AU. Your brain worms, your circus, but THEN WHAT?

#high-key this post is about the genrex x dp crossover I started way back when and how I don't think i'll ever be able to go back to it #bc fae and I have literally put such a massive amount of work into f.h:s and fleshing out the world and how everything works and #the characters personalities and development that I genuinely do not wanna write something in the canon universe anymore #like f.h:s has become my default way of thinking about Rex in a creative capacity #we're here just to suffer but also experience untold amounts of joy you know #we're really lucky here in the phandom bc fanon is so prevalent that people are willing to get in on the ground floor with any #wacky crazy fun hcs you can dish out #and i love it here for that #but for the smaller fandoms its... you cant expect your readers to already have an understanding of your specific au and bible length hcs #anyway #in a low-key way this post is also about how #last month Fae and i went insane for several days about our gen rex AU version of Rex ina crossover with Murderbot and it was so fun but al #It was just for fun and for us YES but I keep thinking about and it's objectively hilarious to write something that is for a max of 4 ppl #When you really get to it tho it was actually for a max of 2 people and those two people are named Kei and Fae
