let me know if you want updates. so far i've ranked one sixth of the songs, but i already have a vague idea of how the rest is gonna go because i know all of these songs by heart and listen to them daily and i've watched glee more times than i care to admit :)
i am ranking every single glee song from worst to best. this is my rule book for it basically.
there Will be a video btw
#i made a 'every glee character's best solo' video six years ago#which btw i would probably disagree with today lol#so it's not like i'm new to making unnecessarily long and tedious and software killing glee ranking videos#the only thing i'm worried about is downloading all of these videos to make the edit#the only device where i have enough storage for that is my phone but do i really want to make this video on my phone? no#my computer is not even an option that thing can only do basic google searches and open word documents it's so old#i could use my iphone but it's out of storage space so i'm gonna have to delete some stuff and also probably make that video in sections#so i don't overwhelm my editing app#rain's glee breakdown

hey if you're the type of writer that's like me where you tend to write specific scenes first that vaguely weave together into a plot, you might like using obsidian as a writing app.
my frustration with other writing applications is that i will write my scenes out of order and it's hard to move things around and rearrange them on a regular document.
but with obsidian there's this canvas feature where you can just write all your scenes and plot moments on these little cards that you can freely rearrange. you can color code them and connect them too.
here's the canvas i've created for my current multi-chapter fic: (if you zoom in you can see all the text in each card this what it looks like zoomed out)
as you can see, i color code them based off chapters and will group them next to a document card with the working title of the chapter. anything not color-coded are scenes that don't have a proper place quite yet or it's just world building references. this app can also be good for note-taking and collecting research!
best of all, it's FREE!!! the only downside is that if you want your stuff to sync across devices, you do have to pay for that. i constantly hop between my laptop and desktop so i pay for the syncing. but if you write on only one device it's completely free! EDIT: some reblogs have mentioned that you can apparently link your own personal cloud storage (dropbox, gdrive, icloud, etc.) to obsidian for free! that way you can access your obsidian vaults across multiple devices without the extra fee. i don't mind supporting the devs but just something to look into if costs is a concern.
i typically use it for organizing my thoughts for a first draft. once i get all the scenes arranged and mostly written out, i will copy and paste them into ellipsus (also free & highly recommended as a google doc alternative) so that they're all in one document that i can edit.
#sorry when i find a good app i like to share it with others#mine#writing tools#writing resources#writing#writing app#obsidian#also yes this is the canvas specifically for my rk1k enemies to lovers fic. i have written out so much of it but its all disconnected lmao

Hey everyone it seems there a malicious individual trying to hack the sims cc community again and fill it with malware you need to stay vigilant as a creator and a downloader so
i have some tips for both to stay safe while downloading:
1- sims cc file extension is always .Package never download anything that is .exe
2- do not auto unpack zip files and rar files into your mods folder directly, open each zip or rar individually check the file extensions and drag them to your mods folder one by one
3- the only mods that have a .ts4script extension are ones that affect gameplay or how the game works, understand that if you are downloading cas or bb items you shouldn't have a .ts4script file
4- if you are downloading gameplay mods that do have .ts4script make sure that A) the creator hasn't announced on their pages that its infected B) you are downloading from a link provided by the creator of the mods themselves not something off of google or a link you got sent and make sure dates of upload match dated of announcements
5- if the mod or cc creator has retired and hasn't posted for a while LOOK AT THE DATES OF THE UPLOAD if it has been "updated recently" after the creator has left the community its most likely re-uploaded by a hacker and infected
6- download mod gaurd by Twisted mexi and keep it updated and keep your windows defender or malware detector Program up to date and always running do not disable it
7- make sure everything you download comes from a direct link from the cc creator, in this day and age do not trust link shortners, adfly, linkverse, etc get the universal bypass extension and ublock extension to stay safe but genuinely NEVER CLICK ON THOSE no matter how much the creator reassures you its safe it. is. NOT.
8- this is more of a general saftey precaution but, create a system restore point weekly before you run the game with new mods that way if anything happens you could have a chance to restore your windows to an earlier date before you downloaded anything.
9- BACK UP YOUR SHIT im serious right now either weekly or monthly put your files somewhere safe like a usb a storage card a hard drive even an online cloud if you dont have any of the previous.
10- files you should back up are your media from games and media everything else, any mods, games saves, work files, passwords, saved bookmarks, any documents txt files word files pdfs, links you saved, brushes or actions for Photoshop if you have any, any digital bills or certificates if you have any, and keep a physical list of all programs you have installed and where you installed them from
11- turn on any 2 factor authentication and security measures for any account you have
12- google and firefox have the option to check your paswords and emails against any data leaks USE THIS FEATURE and change any leaked passwords
13- regularly check your logged in sessions to make sure all the logged in devices or computers are yours and log out any that aren't and any old devices or unused sessions do this for every website and app you have an account on if available
14- change your passwords often. I know this is a hassle i know its hard to come up with new passwords but changing your passwords every few months will help you against anything mention previously that wasn't detected.
15- and as a cc creator check your cc and the accounts you host cc on and its uplaod and update dates make sure nothing has been changed without your permission :(
16- generally try not to get swept up in the "i must get it" fever you do not need to "shop" for mods weekly or monthly you do not need to download everything by that one creator you do not need to download new cc everytime you want to make a sim, im guilty of this so i know how hard it is to resist but take a breath and think "do i want this or do i need it" before downloading.
These are prevention methods i cant claim they are 100% will prevent any hacking but its better to be safe than sorry and these do keep you safe so
Brought to you by someone who has had their laptop ruined and data leaked from downloading cc once upon a time

The Comfy Gamer addon contains computers with more monitors, new desks with storage space, as well as a couple of new shelf options.
Merged packages and separated zip versions can be downloaded below. Only download one option for each kit.

To install, place the .package files into your Mods folder found, by default, in My Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods. Alternatively, you can place the individual .package files from the separated ZIP into it’s own folder within the Mods folder to keep things tidy.
As usual, you will need to have the respective kits in order for the addons to appear in-game.

I think most of us should take the whole ai scraping situation as a sign that we should maybe stop giving google/facebook/big corps all our data and look into alternatives that actually value your privacy.
i know this is easier said than done because everybody under the sun seems to use these services, but I promise you it’s not impossible. In fact, I made a list of a few alternatives to popular apps and services, alternatives that are privacy first, open source and don’t sell your data.
right off the bat I suggest you stop using gmail. it’s trash and not secure at all. google can read your emails. in fact, google has acces to all the data on your account and while what they do with it is already shady, I don’t even want to know what the whole ai situation is going to bring. a good alternative to a few google services is skiff. they provide a secure, e3ee mail service along with a workspace that can easily import google documents, a calendar and 10 gb free storage. i’ve been using it for a while and it’s great.
a good alternative to google drive is either koofr or filen. I use filen because everything you upload on there is end to end encrypted with zero knowledge. they offer 10 gb of free storage and really affordable lifetime plans.
google docs? i don’t know her. instead, try cryptpad. I don’t have the spoons to list all the great features of this service, you just have to believe me. nothing you write there will be used to train ai and you can share it just as easily. if skiff is too limited for you and you also need stuff like sheets or forms, cryptpad is here for you. the only downside i could think of is that they don’t have a mobile app, but the site works great in a browser too.
since there is no real alternative to youtube I recommend watching your little slime videos through a streaming frontend like freetube or new pipe. besides the fact that they remove ads, they also stop google from tracking what you watch. there is a bit of functionality loss with these services, but if you just want to watch videos privately they’re great.
if you’re looking for an alternative to google photos that is secure and end to end encrypted you might want to look into stingle, although in my experience filen’s photos tab works pretty well too.
oh, also, for the love of god, stop using whatsapp, facebook messenger or instagram for messaging. just stop. signal and telegram are literally here and they’re free. spread the word, educate your friends, ask them if they really want anyone to snoop around their private conversations.
regarding browser, you know the drill. throw google chrome/edge in the trash (they really basically spyware disguised as browsers) and download either librewolf or brave. mozilla can be a great secure option too, with a bit of tinkering.
if you wanna get a vpn (and I recommend you do) be wary that some of them are scammy. do your research, read their terms and conditions, familiarise yourself with their model. if you don’t wanna do that and are willing to trust my word, go with mullvad. they don’t keep any logs. it’s 5 euros a month with no different pricing plans or other bullshit.
lastly, whatever alternative you decide on, what matters most is that you don’t keep all your data in one place. don’t trust a service to take care of your emails, documents, photos and messages. store all these things in different, trustworthy (preferably open source) places. there is absolutely no reason google has to know everything about you.
do your own research as well, don’t just trust the first vpn service your favourite youtube gets sponsored by. don’t trust random tech blogs to tell you what the best cloud storage service is — they get good money for advertising one or the other. compare shit on your own or ask a tech savvy friend to help you. you’ve got this.

ever wonder why spotify/discord/teams desktop apps kind of suck?
i don't do a lot of long form posts but. I realized that so many people aren't aware that a lot of the enshittification of using computers in the past decade or so has a lot to do with embedded webapps becoming so frequently used instead of creating native programs. and boy do i have some thoughts about this.
for those who are not blessed/cursed with computers knowledge Basically most (graphical) programs used to be native programs (ever since we started widely using a graphical interface instead of just a text-based terminal). these are apps that feel like when you open up the settings on your computer, and one of the factors that make windows and mac programs look different (bc they use a different design language!) this was the standard for a long long time - your emails were served to you in a special email application like thunderbird or outlook, your documents were processed in something like microsoft word (again. On your own computer!). same goes for calendars, calculators, spreadsheets, and a whole bunch more - crucially, your computer didn't depend on the internet to do basic things, but being connected to the web was very much an appreciated luxury!
that leads us to the eventual rise of webapps that we are all so painfully familiar with today - gmail dot com/outlook, google docs, google/microsoft calendar, and so on. as html/css/js technology grew beyond just displaying text images and such, it became clear that it could be a lot more convenient to just run programs on some server somewhere, and serve the front end on a web interface for anyone to use. this is really very convenient!!!! it Also means a huge concentration of power (notice how suddenly google is one company providing you the SERVICE) - you're renting instead of owning. which means google is your landlord - the services you use every day are first and foremost means of hitting the year over year profit quota. its a pretty sweet deal to have a free email account in exchange for ads! email accounts used to be paid (simply because the provider had to store your emails somewhere. which takes up storage space which is physical hard drives), but now the standard as of hotmail/yahoo/gmail is to just provide a free service and shove ads in as much as you need to.
webapps can do a lot of things, but they didn't immediately replace software like skype or code editors or music players - software that requires more heavy system interaction or snappy audio/visual responses. in 2013, the electron framework came out - a way of packaging up a bundle of html/css/js into a neat little crossplatform application that could be downloaded and run like any other native application. there were significant upsides to this - web developers could suddenly use their webapp skills to build desktop applications that ran on any computer as long as it could support chrome*! the first applications to be built on electron were the late code editor atom (rest in peace), but soon a whole lot of companies took note! some notable contemporary applications that use electron, or a similar webapp-embedded-in-a-little-chrome as a base are:
microsoft teams
notion
vscode
discord
spotify
anyone! who has paid even a little bit of attention to their computer - especially when using older/budget computers - know just how much having chrome open can slow down your computer (firefox as well to a lesser extent. because its just built better <3)
whenever you have one of these programs open on your computer, it's running in a one-tab chrome browser. there is a whole extra chrome open just to run your discord. if you have discord, spotify, and notion open all at once, along with chrome itself, that's four chromes. needless to say, this uses a LOT of resources to deliver applications that are often much less polished and less integrated with the rest of the operating system. it also means that if you have no internet connection, sometimes the apps straight up do not work, since much of them rely heavily on being connected to their servers, where the heavy lifting is done.
taking this idea to the very furthest is the concept of chromebooks - dinky little laptops that were created to only run a web browser and webapps - simply a vessel to access the google dot com mothership. they have gotten better at running offline android/linux applications, but often the $200 chromebooks that are bought in bulk have almost no processing power of their own - why would you even need it? you have everything you could possibly need in the warm embrace of google!
all in all the average person in the modern age, using computers in the mainstream way, owns very little of their means of computing.
i started this post as a rant about the electron/webapp framework because i think that it sucks and it displaces proper programs. and now ive swiveled into getting pissed off at software services which is in honestly the core issue. and i think things can be better!!!!!!!!!!! but to think about better computing culture one has to imagine living outside of capitalism.
i'm not the one to try to explain permacomputing specifically because there's already wonderful literature ^ but if anything here interested you, read this!!!!!!!!!! there is a beautiful world where computers live for decades and do less but do it well. and you just own it. come frolic with me Okay ? :]
*when i say chrome i technically mean chromium. but functionally it's same thing

Any chance you could give us info on how Yelenas tactical brain approaches the diaper bag?
First and most important rule: Only She Packs It. Kate is not allowed to pack or repack the diaper bag. Once, Kate tried to “help” by reorganizing it. Yelena discovered it mid-outing and nearly went feral. Ellie still mimics her snarling “What the f… is this system?” when playing with her dolls.
No, but like…truly. Kate is not allowed near Yelena’s bag unsupervised. Once, Kate took it out because she couldn't find hers (they have separate bags for this exact reason). Yelena found a teething toy where the burp cloths went and visibly short-circuited. Kate’s is pink. It's chaos. Yelena refers to it only as “the decoy.”
Beyond that: -The diaper bag is not a diaper bag. It’s a reinforced, waterproof, modular tactical backpack in matte black with detachable pouches. It has a MOLLE system. Yelena refuses to carry one of those cutesy designer diaper bags Kate registered for. Instead, she uses a military backpack and carabiners. She also just…refuses to call it anything other than “the kit.” And yes, she calls it “The Kit.” Not “the diaper bag.” Not “Ellie’s things.” It’s just The Kit. Kate has given up on trying to correct her.
-Everything is color coded and labeled. Formula? Blue tag. Wipes? Green tag. Emergency pacifier stash? Red. Kate once tried to add a little bow to one of the zippers. It was gone within an hour.
-Over-Prepared as a Rule: Three of everything. Minimum. One is none, two is one, three is peace of mind. That includes pacifiers, changes of clothes, burp cloths, and an entire wipe packet that is sealed inside a second waterproof pouch because Yelena has learned.
-The med kit Is…Overkill. It includes: baby Tylenol, Benadryl, hypoallergenic bandages, antiseptic wipes, an EpiPen, a backup EpiPen, and a space blanket. There’s also a tourniquet. “She’s teething, Yelena.” “And what if she bites someone? We don’t know her power yet.”
-Combat Pouch Snacks: Yelena packs snacks for herself like she’s going on recon. Protein bars. Trail mix. Instant electrolyte powder. She burned too many calories one afternoon chasing Ellie across the Getty and now the bag always includes tactical granola.
-There’s a “Blackout Scenario” envelope. It’s labeled in Russian and sealed in plastic. Kate isn’t allowed to open it. It allegedly contains cash, emergency contacts, a flash drive, and instructions on how to disappear with Ellie if something ever happens to Yelena.
-Inventory is filed in her Notes app under 'Op: Gremlin’ Every item has a category. Every category has backups. The document includes timestamps, quantities, and ideal temperature ranges for formula storage. It also has contingency protocols: Blowout in public = Kit B, Teething disaster = Kit C, Random emergency? Check side pocket marked with a red carabiner.
-Weighted packing. Balance-tested. She knows which side to sling depending on terrain. Yelena once trained with a 40 pound pack in Siberia. You think she’s going to let a baby unbalance her center of gravity? Please. The bag is weight-distributed to perfection. There is a precise reason the wipes are on the right-hand side. That’s her dominant hand. She’s done drills.
-Bag Maintenance Day: Every Sunday, 1400 hours sharp, the bag is unloaded, re-inventoried, sanitized, and restocked. If Kate tries to help, Yelena gently removes her hand like she’s disarming a civilian near a landmine.

If we are going to reverse the mental illness epidemic in America, we need research on mild, long-term aluminum chelation protocols funding by NIH: deferoxamine (aka desferoxamine), intranasal insulin, silicic acid, cilantro, and glutathione enhancers. And we need to stop inject aluminum into ourselves. Join me in calling on Dr. Jay Bhattacharya to have his Program Officers write calls for proposals for this urgent area of clinical research to reverse iatrogenic disease caused by injected aluminum.
Aluminum (Al) is a highly abundant metal with no known physiological role in the human body. Despite its frequent use in industrial, pharmaceutical, and consumer products, aluminum is a known neurotoxin. Chronic exposure has been implicated in the pathogenesis of multiple neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders. While aluminum toxicity was once dismissed as irrelevant due to assumed poor absorption and rapid clearance, a growing body of research shows that aluminum bioaccumulates in vulnerable tissues (Tomljenovic et al., 2013) , particularly the brain, and may be a major avoidable risk factor in the development of Alzheimer’s disease (AD; Armstrong et al., 2019), autism spectrum disorder (ASD; Boretti, 2021; Roe, 2022), dialysis encephalopathy (Alfrey et al., 1978; Mach et al. 1988), and other cognitive and behavioral disorders such as acute aluminum intoxication, which requires chelation therapy.
Aluminum exerts its neurotoxicity through several well-documented mechanisms:
Oxidative Stress: Aluminum promotes the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), lipid peroxidation, and oxidative DNA damage, leading to mitochondrial dysfunction and neuronal death.
Mitochondrial Disruption: Aluminum impairs mitochondrial energy metabolism and promotes apoptotic pathways, contributing to neurodegeneration.
Metal Mimicry and Ion Disruption: By mimicking essential ions such as Ca²⁺ and Fe³⁺, aluminum disrupts neuronal signaling, membrane potentials, and ferritin iron storage systems.
Epigenetic Modulation: Aluminum alters DNA methylation patterns, histone acetylation, and the expression of microRNAs (e.g., miR-29a/b, miR-124; Aschne et al., 2024), contributing to dysregulated amyloid precursor protein (APP) and tau pathology in Alzheimer’s disease (Kandimalla et al., 2016;Huat et al., 2019).
Autophagy Dysfunction: Aluminum impairs neuronal autophagy, compromising the clearance of misfolded proteins such as β-amyloid and hyperphosphorylated tau (Sanajou et al., 2023; Makhdoomi et al., 2023).

How to CSP data backups
Thought some of you might still find this useful.
So, for everyone struggling with manually migrating your CSP data and settings to the new pc!
Basically, you need to install a version before 1.10.12
( before the data storage changes, 1.9.11 for example )
Then you put your CELSYS folder in the documents, replace whatever bs is there, and when you open the drawing app, all of your brushes and settings will be there!
After that you can safely update to whatever the latest version is out.
You're welcome
But honestly, idk it's such a massive pain in the ass to migrate your brushes and settings in the new versions of Clip Studio. Like who even thought it would be a good idea to separate it between the manual and cloud backups?
