"Interesting, isn't it?"
"You will tell us."
"Oh, I doubt that."

no one can blame edwin for being in love with charles because if a guy that knew me for only the 6 days leading to his death immediately suggested travelling the earth with me for eternity instead of having a peaceful afterlife who also happens to have the prettiest brown eyes in existence i too would fall so far in love i'm at the core of the earth.

I just want to say that I love Esther Finch and she is a great villain but she is sooooooo sinister. I don't think enough people realize how terrible she truly is beacuse we mostly see her as a somewhat campy villain. Which she is but she is also so much more.
To start with she goes after Becky Aspen, a little black girl, and, well, Becky is a very vulnerable person because of it. The police and even other (white) people will be less likely to look for her because she is black. I wouldn't be surprised that the police did very little to look into her disappearance. And Esther isn't a stupid woman, she most likely went after Becky because she uses the systemic issues in place that make it easier for her to go after vulnerable girls, such as Becky Aspen.
Not to mention that the police wouldn't have gone after her anyways because she is friendly with them and they are friendly with her. She talks to them like a friend and the police treat her like one. And it's easy for Esther to do because she is a wealthy white woman, why would she be the cause of such a horrible tragedy? She is trust worthy and our friend so of course this wealthy white woman is not the kidnapper/killer. Because she is a wealthy white woman.
More under the cut
The police also show their incompetence/bias in the show by dismissing Crystal and Niko during the Lighthouse Leapers, because they are 1) outsiders in this town 2) are renting at Jenny's so they must be poor 3) not at school so they must be high/on drugs and 4) woman of color, while not mentioned, is something that most likely played a factor in the cops decision to not believe them.
The cop also immediately runs into Esther, who further turns the cop against Crystal and Niko. Esther takes advantage of her position in society, especially to those who are beneath her, to have power and control over them.
And the police will not side with her victims because it is her words over theirs and her word carries far more weight than those of her victims.
After all, Esther Finch is such a poor wealthy white woman and she is so sinister because it reflects our reality of how we (western) society view wealthy white woman.

I love the idea of a DC/Marvel crossover where Bruce Wayne adopts a young Tony Stark.
I like to think he would be the second youngest, Damian being the youngest. The Wayne family had only met him briefly at galas and they're only made aware of Tony again when there is an article about the death of his parents in a tragic car accident. Something tugs at Bruce's heart strings and he ends up adopting Tony. Luckily before Obadiah could get to him.
Tony would be around 10-12. But he is still amazingly smart. Howard Stark was already talking about signing him up for college. Though, Maria Stark interfered before it could actually happen.
Imagine Jarvis comes to live with them at Wayne Manor and becomes a butler alongside Alfred. They would probably be good friends. They both just want to care and serve their wards. Ana comes too and everyone loves her food, it's second best to Alfred's...maybe even better.
Stark Industries go to Obadiah Stane. Tony keeps an eye on it...until he gets kidnapped. Yep, Obadiah still felt the need to do that. He can't mold Tony to his standards now that he's with the Wayne's (and the company will go to Tony when he's of age) so the next best thing is to have him eliminated. But that fails and Tony basically has the same kidnapping as the movie with arc reactor and all.
The Wayne's are so relieved when Tony makes it home. Bruce freaks out when he discovers the arc reactor. I think they would probably be much faster at finding a solution to the palladium problem.
Tony knows he need to stop the weapons manufacturing but Stane won't listen to him. He and the Bats figure out that Stane was the one behind the kidnapping.
I think Tony would definitely try to build a suit and stop Stane himself but the Bats stop him and then go handle Stane themselves.
The Bats then work to collect and destroy all the weapons that got out.
The company is put into the hands of Pepper Potts.
As for the relationships...
Bruce and Tony have an okay relationship, probably better than the other kids. Tony thinks Bruce mostly pities him and that's why he was adopted. He also resents Bruce for not letting him be a vigilante. He just wants to be like the rest of the family! But Bruce FINALLY realized that maybe he should stop making child soldiers. Bruce loves that Tony can challenge him so much with his intellect. Bruce doesn't even fathom the idea of sending Tony to college, which Tony greatly appreciates.
Alfred and Tony. Tony loves Alfred, honestly. He thinks he's the third best person in the world (Jarvis and Ana are before him). They have routine chess matches and Tony always wins. Alfred teaches him how to do laundry and cook because there's no one way anyone taught him that stuff.
Tony thinks Dick is cool but a bit dorky. Dick thinks Tony is like a little miniature Tim but a lot smarter. Dick teaches him flips that Tony actually kinda sucks at it but it's fun and great bonding for them.
Tony and Jason. Tony is a little iffy about Jason. He does think he's super cool, he's all tough and stuff. But...he's a little weird about the killing. He's a little wary around him as a result. Jason eventually explains to him the ins and outs of his whole operation and how he only kills bad people. Tony comes around a little after that and even offers advice for his organization.
Tim kinda resents Tony because he's like wtf that's literally me. But then he realized how cool and sweet Tony is. He also finds out Tony is even smarter than he is. Tony loves that Tim can almost match his intellect, he doesn't get that a lot and it can be pretty boring.
Duke likes Tony solely cause he helps Duke with his homework. Tony also has pretty good pranks and so far they haven't gotten caught.
Tony thinks Cass is probably the most epic person ever. He likes to try and sneak up on her but he hasn't succeeded yet. Doesn't stop him from trying and inventing new tech.
Tony does not like Damian and Damian does not like Tony. Tony thinks Damian is a brat and Damian thinks Tony is stealing all the attention. In reality, Tony just lost his parents and is going through a hard time and needs love. Damian hasn't grown up with a lot of love and now that he had it and he feels it was stripped away, he becomes defensive and angry. They get along...eventually.
Barbara thinks Tony is a brat. Tony likes to hack into her computer and he is GOOD. Though, she comes to like it as she realizes it is kind of helping her get better and it can be fun.
Steph likes Tony's spitefulness and sometimes they team up to tease the others. Tony thinks Steph is pretty cool.
I love this idea so much but I don't have the time to write it 😞😞

The Saint: Escape Route (5.14, ITC, 1966)
"Don't worry, this will work. Simon's terribly clever."
"Terribly."
"He's risking his life trying to find the man who killed my father! When he does, you'll get all the credit."
"I sincerely hope so."
#the saint#escape route#1966#itc#leslie charteris#michael winder#roger moore#john gregson#wanda ventham#ivor dean#donald sutherland#jean marsh#jeremy burnham#terry yorke#romo gorrara#vicki woolf#tony doonan#eric mason#edwin brown#george zenios#walter horsbrugh#at last he has returned! it's taken Inspector Teal far too long to turn up in this season (and I note with some trepidation that the#character is written a little broader here‚ verging on bumbling...) but still I'm glad he's back. Moore's first colour ep as director‚ and#it's a pretty good one! Simon is inexplicably helping Teal to uncover a prison escape set up‚ but this is no prison bound ep: actually it's#notably impressive looking‚ with real helicopter stunts and some lovely location stuff in trafalgar square. i guess Moore maybe could push#his luck a little more on budget and filming constraints etc (when you're also the star of the show they can't exactly fire you). Gregson#being fresh from ITC's Gideon's Way‚ scores the guest star billing despite not appearing until quite near the end of the episode#Burnham was in the previous ep as a different character whilst Ventham is playing a nightclub singer and so has to mime along (fairly badly#it has to be said) to someone else's singing. Jean Marsh is quite wonderful as chief henchperson (very icy and snippy) and dear old Don#Sutherland gives one of his best brit tv performances as a frankly adorable bank robber (!). a fun one! among the best of the colour eps

Kliph Nesteroff: There was a sequel to the blaxploitation movie Black Caesar called Hell Up in Harlem. Both were directed by Larry Cohen for American International Pictures and they came out one after the other. You and James Brown did the soundtrack to the first film, but not the second. Edwin Starr from Motown did music for the second film. How come...?
Fred Wesley: Yeah, yeah. That’s a good story. We finished the movie music. James Brown told me to take it out to California. We were in Augusta when we finished it. We packaged it up. It was on a two-track tape and I took it to Larry Cohen. Larry listened to it and he shook his head. He said, “This ain’t funky. It’s not funky enough.” I said, “What?” It was very funky. He didn’t know funk from stunk. Anyway, I said, “Okay, well, you tell James Brown it's not funky enough. I’m not going to tell him it's not funky enough.” Phoned James Brown up, “I said Larry Cohen says it ain’t funky enough.” And I handed the phone to Larry Cohen. Larry turned about four shades of red and blue. He was saying, “Yeah, but… I mean… yeah, but… I… but I…” He handed the phone back to me. You could hear over the phone, “[screaming][growling].” I picked it up, took it back to Augusta, Georgia, and James Brown put the music out. It turned out to be The Payback – his funkiest album and the only million seller James Brown ever had.
Kliph Nesteroff: You were hired to do the music for Hell Up in Harlem and the music was turned down.
Fred Wesley: Yes. We did it. We did all the music! Larry Cohen said it was not funky enough (laughs).

I just watched Falsettos and now I’m consumed by a dead boy detectives shaped crossover… Edwin and Charles don’t quite work as Whizzer and Marvin, they aren’t as mean, but god damn do you see the vision?! Crystal as Trina and maybe she could have her own gay awakening with Niko as Mendel.
In other words I’m consumed with grief over Whizzer and the way I cope is by making my other blorbos suffer too
