Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Date: March 2007 Platform: Arcade Developer: International Games System Co., Ltd. Publisher: International Games System Co., Ltd. Genre: Brawler Theme: Fantasy Franchises: Oriental Legend Type: Retelling
Summary:
Oriental Legend 2 follows up the original game with another romp through Journey to the West. The original game's five characters are joined by three newcomers: Er-Lang, Drakan, and Princess Iron Fan. Two more characters can be unlocked after completing the game once.
Like the original game, this is a scrolling beat-em-up for up to four players. This time around, character growth is a major gameplay feature. Players earn experience for defeating enemies and level up, with underleveled characters much more likely to have trouble beating late-game bosses. There are three game modes. "Plot" features seven stages with a regular difficulty level designed for regular players. "Online Ranking" is a more challenging eight-stage mode which, when completed, provides the player with a code to input at the official website in order to share their codes on the online leaderboard. "Challenge Boss" is a boss rush that goes through all of the bosses in the game, with players challenged to get through in as little time as possible.
This is the first game for the PGM2 to feature support for the hardware's card reader accessory. By buying an IC card at their local arcade, players gain the ability to save and load their character's progress, allowing them to keep their level growth and items between runs.

[Hanfu · 漢服]Chinese immortal Hanfu <电母/Mother of Lightning> Based On Yuan Dynasty Taoist Temple Mural<永乐宫/Yongle Palace>
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
【Historical Artifacts Reference 】:▶ China Yuan Dynasty Taoist Temple 永乐宫/Yongle Palace Mural<电母/Mother of Lightning>
Tumblr media
⚡【电母/Mother of Lightning】⚡
电母/Dianmu (Chinese: 電母; pinyin: Diànmǔ; lit. 'Mother of Lightning'), also known as Leizi, is the Chinese goddess of lightning, who is said to have used flashing mirrors to send bolts of lightning across the sky.
She is married to Leigong/雷公, the god of thunder. She is one of the gods who work together to produce the phenomena of thunder. Other companions are Yun Tong (Yún Tóng, 云童, lit. the "Cloud Youth/Kid"), who whips up clouds, and Yu Shi/雨师 ("Rain Master") who causes downpours by dipping his sword into a pot. Roaring winds rush forth from a type of goatskin bag manipulated by Fengbo/风伯 ("Earl of Wind/Wind Uncle"), who was later transformed into Feng Po Po ("Old Lady Wind").
Legend
Dianmu was once a human, who lived with her mother. One day, she was dumping rice husks, because they were too hard for her mother to eat. When the short-tempered thunder god Leigong saw her dumping the husks out, he thought she was wasting food, so he killed her. When the Jade Emperor found out, he was infuriated at Leigong's careless murder. The Jade Emperor revived Dianmu, making her a goddess. Dianmu was made to marry Leigong, who took on the responsibility of caring for her. Dianmu's job is now to work with Lei Gong. She uses mirrors to shine light on the Earth, so Leigong can see who he hits and makes sure they aren't innocent. This is why lightning comes before thunder.
In other depictions
Dianmu also appears in Wu Cheng'en's late 16th-century novel, the Journey to the West; she appears during the events of the Slow Cart Kingdom (車遲國, Chechi), where three 'Animal Strength/Power Immortals', "Tiger Strength", "Deer/Elk Strength" and "Goat/Antelope Strength", three demons who disguised themselves as Taoist magicians to deceive the King of the Kingdom of Chechi, by means of having ended a seemingly-endless drought through the means of a legitimate magic tablet that can control the weather by summoning gods in control of various aspects of the weather, including Dianmu, accompanied by Yún Tóng (云童, lit. the "Cloud Youth"). Once Sun Wukong interrupts the summons, Dianmu and her fellow weather deities help the Buddhists instead of the demons in their rain-making competition.

Food and Agriculture in Thranduil's Kingdom
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's unfortunate that Thorin's Company was welcomed as dinner guests in Rivendell but imprisoned as invaders in Mirkwood. Had Thorin just shown King Thranduil just a little bit more respect, they could have been fed a whole lot better by the Silvans. And there would most definitely have been meat!
While the Rivendell elves seem to lean vegetarian, and Lothlorien's culinary specialty is the "one bite" lembas, the elves of Greenwood know more than a thing or two about indulgent feasting. These elves consider themselves permanent residents of their land, and with that outlook comes an attitude of celebrating Middle-earth's bounties.
The Silvans of the Woodland Realm have always been fond of feasting, merry-making, and community and family traditions centered around food. Furthermore, they are ruled by a King and royal family who whole-heartedly support this culture, participate in it themselves, and encourage trade that allows the realm to access food from other lands.
When it comes to food, the Greenwood elves are actually more alike Dwarves and Hobbits than they are the lofty High Elves.
Tumblr media
Below the cut are SotWK headcanons regarding Food and Agriculture in the Woodland Realm:
Tumblr media
Food, Cuisine, and Agriculture in the Woodland Realm
Prior to the establishment of the Woodland Realm and in the early reign of King Oropher (c. SA 700), the Silvan Elves populating Greenwood lived in smaller communities spread throughout the vast forest, but predominantly in the southwest, closer to their kin in Lorinand. Limited subsistence farming was practiced by a few, but by far most food at this time was obtained through hunting and gathering. The rich and bountiful Greenwood had always provided more than enough resources for its dwellers.
GATHERING
Greenwood Elves happily spend most of their immortal lives within Eryn Galen and the lands of Rhovanion, so they are accustomed to living off solely what the forest produces, and their diet is influenced largely by it.
The most commonly foraged edibles are:
Nuts: hazelnut, pecan, walnut, hickory, beechnut, chestnut
Fruit: plum, apple, grape, persimmon
Berries: mulberry, blackberry, currant, elderberry, raspberry
Wild garlic and ramps
Fungi: mushrooms and truffles of many varieties
Eggs: from various wild birds
Herbs and Spices: fennel, corn mint, dandelions, ground elder, pigweed, cicely, sorrel, hogweed, stinging nettle, watercress, wild carrot, rowan, wood avens, sneezewort
Maple: sourced for sugar and syrup
There are also hundreds of plant species native only to Greenwood and Rhovanion that are valued for their uses in healing. However, the Silvan herbalists of Greenwood are usually the only ones able to effectively extract the curative properties of these plants, indicating a connection between Elves and homeland may be necessary for the healing to work.

Art from Fantasy Flight Games
HUNTING
Greenwood Elves are expert hunters and trackers, with unparalleled mastery within their forest and the lands that surround its borders. With careful consideration and instinctual knowledge of the forest ecosystem, they select their prey according to what's most populous, and rotate as necessary to balance out conservation levels.
Among the animals they hunt regularly for meat consumption are rabbit, squirrel, duck, turkey, quail, weasel, racoon, boar, deer, wild oxen, and elk. On rare or special occasions, they hunt less common game such as lion and bear. They also obtain fish and freshwater mussels, clams, and snails from the Forest River and various streams.
It is illegal in Greenwood to hunt or kill specific animals that are declared a protected species, including the King's Elk (the breed of Thranduil's war elk), the silverwolf, and all species of eagle or falcon.
Any fauna or fauna may also be temporarily decreed off-limits for hunting or gathering, by order of the Elvenking and his council.
Any animal taken in as an elf's pet or familiar may also not be killed, so long as it has been properly tamed and does not pose a risk to others.
Tumblr media
Throughout the Second Age, the Woodland Realm's population steadily increased under the wise rule of King Oropher and his court. As the communities and villages that made up the kingdom grew larger and more numerous, the practice of agriculture became more widespread to bolster the realm's food supply.
In the Woodland Realm, farming would always remain secondary to hunting and gathering due to the preference of Silvans for wild game and native vegetation. Farmed products serve primarily to enhance cuisine, supplement large feasts, provide reserves in case of war or famine, and as goods for trade with other realms.
FARMING and LIVESTOCK
Tracts of community farmlands were gradually cultivated in the arable fields between Greenwood's western borders (near the capital of Amon Lanc) and the Anduin River.
In order of output, the food crops most commonly grown are: wheat, barley, oats, potatoes, carrots, tomatoes, lettuce, peppers, and peas.
Fiber crops grown for cloth, paper, and rope include: flax, hemp, and cotton.
Domesticated animals are raised in small numbers solely for their by-products and not their meat. In order of importance, livestock that are raised are:
Sheep: source of wool and milk
Chickens: source of eggs
Cows: source of milk and for birthing calves
Animals raised for labor include:
Horses: highly valued and raised exclusively for transport and mounted cavalry
Oxen: used as beasts of burden (large-scale/community work)
Donkeys: used as beasts of burden (small-scale/family work)
When Prince Thranduil built his own palace of Bar Lasgalen just south of the Old Forest Road (which would later become the new capital upon his ascension to the throne), he helped the Silvans residing in the valleys of the Emyn Duir to initiate small-scale agriculture, which encouraged further migration into that area and northward towards the Grey Mountains.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Elvish historians refer to the first millennium of the Third Age as the "Golden Age of the Woodland Realm". During these years, the kingdom enjoyed an unbroken peace under a wise King and Queen who also had five sons actively involved in the governance of the realm.
Departing from his father's more isolationist leanings, Thranduil encouraged trade with realms across Middle-earth. It included all the races except for Hobbits, since the Shire did not yet exist prior to the darkening of Greenwood.
Sadly, most trade came to a stop by the end of the Third Age, with the exception of the nearby Dale, due to the struggles with Dol Guldur. However, after Erebor was reestablished by King Thorin, trade gradually resumed with the Dwarves. After the War of the Ring and the Cleansing of Dol Guldur, Eryn Lasgalen once again thrived with renewed relations with their trade partners--finally including the Shire!
AGRICULTURAL TRADE
The Woodland Realm's three most valuable exported agricultural products are:
Rare spices
Mushrooms and truffles
Medicinal herbs (extremely valuable but highly controlled to prevent misuse)
Imported goods are considered luxuries and not necessities, and are brought in seasonally for community feasts and celebrations (of which there are many). Everything is meant for the consumption of all the kingdom's citizens, regardless of status; there is never anything reserved as "special" for the royals or nobles.
The top agricultural imports, usually from realms/communities of Men, are:
Wine
Textiles (silk, cotton)
Seafood
Sugar
Cheeses
ARTISAN COOKS and BAKERS
Exposure to outside realms and cultures also resulted in an expansion of the culinary arts within Thranduil's kingdom. Cooking and baking became full-blown, respected and sought-after professions instead of tasks done within individual households. With the King's support, talented Elves were sent to other realms to learn their culinary practices; chefs from other kingdoms were invited to Greenwood as royal guests to do the same.
A few culinary feats and innovations the Woodland Elves became known for:
Use of offal (innards) in recipes that actually taste fantastic, thanks to seasonings and skilled cookery
Using literally every single part of a butchered animal with zero waste
Aphrodisiacs in common food recipes, using plant ingredients (partly responsible for their marriage and birth rates and large families)
Salted game meat (jerky) that is highly nourishing and excellent for travel; essentially a meat version of lembas
The use of whipped egg whites to make essentially a type of meringue--which opened up an entire category of desserts that became staples at feasts
Tumblr media
Bonus Fun Headcanons! (as a thank you for reading this far)
Mealtimes in Thranduil's Family
No one can beat Ada in drinking contests, ever; it has been attempted hundreds of times--usually with Dorwinion wine--and Thranduil has never been dethroned by his sons.
The King and every single one of the Princes are all heavy eaters, and everyone, including the Queen, eats meat.
While they all observe formal manners at the table, the Princes can get rowdy when not in the presence of their mother--especially when there's drinking involved. (Not quite as bad as Thorin's Company, but close.)
Breakfast: Taken individually in their own rooms, according to each one's schedule/leisure
Lunch: The most commonly skipped meal; usually taken "on the go", and oftentimes with people outside of the family (e.g. business lunches, lunch with friends)
Dinner: The family meal. Everyone is expected to sit down and eat dinner with the rest of the family, unless traveling or there is a prior commitment that takes precedence.
Tumblr media
Random Fun Food Facts with the Thranduilions
The Princes regularly compete to see who can eat the most exotic/"disgusting" food items. Turhir remains champion at this (able and willing to eat literally everything), with Legolas frequently trying (and constantly failing) to unseat him.
They have also competed to see who can eat the riskiest (aka poisonous) food items. Arvellas has somehow proven to be the most impervious to natural poisons, much to Gelir's frustration.
Legolas can go the longest without eating food, but no one really cares to try to beat his record.
Mirion is the heaviest eater, but is also the fastest, and because he has flawless table manners no one really notices.
Gelir can find truffles just using his sense of smell--yes, like a truffle pig. He has successfully trained other similarly gifted Elves to do the same.

Hi me again I’ve been thinking about Yaoshi and Lan and why their foil relationship fascinates me and I think I finally pinned down why.
Yaoshi as a Aeon hates death, pain, and suffering when they do things like offer immortality it's out of a desire to cure it. Their help comes with a side effect of what the Xianzhou call Mara. In their effort to eradicate pain and suffering they perpetuate it.
Lan on the other hand hates immortaliy and the suffering of it and when they do things like destroy planets or hunt Yaoshi it's to cure the torment Yaoshi brings. In their SU logs it's noted that they once destroyed an entire planet of immortal snake people blessed by Yaoshi as a way to "cure" them of eternal life and the resulting Mara.
Yaoshi represents Nature and Lan Humanity. Predator and prey. Lan and Yaoshi are foils because they represent an ecosystem.
Yaoshi is devoted to curing death but death is necessary for an ecosystem to survive, when there’s too much life resources become scarce and the life cycle collapses in on itself, similar to how immortality seemed like a blessing to the Xianzhou at first but quickly became a curse as people afflicted with Mara became more animalistic and violent. Even herbivores like deer will eat meat if they are starved of necessary nutrients and the like and Yaoshi has big deer motifs (The Mara struck also have symptoms that sound similar to Chronic Wasting Disease in deer, which spreads more in higher density deer populations).
Lan on the other hand is devoted to curing immortality. Lan is a hunter and the duty of hunters, predators even, is to control the prey population. Without predators or with too few predators not enough animals die to go back into the life cycle and allow it to remain stable. Lan hunts Yaoshi because that’s what their duty is, to keep Yaoshi from destabilizing the ecosystem. The Xianzhou, who follow Lan, quite literally do the same. The Ten Lords Commission exists for this very purpose, to control the stability of an immortality based species. You can’t cure Mara you can only control it in an effort to keep it from spreading.
Yaoshi and Lan both are entities of aid and devastation but they balance each other . Yaoshi can't be killed because they keep in check a surplus of death and allow life to persist and Lan can't stop hunting them or die either because they keep in check a surplus of life that allows the life cycle to remain stable.
Basically they're like the wolf situation in Yellowstone. When the wolves were killed deer and elk and other herbavores rapidly grew in population and depleted resources, so wolves were reintroduced to the park and stabilized the ecosystem again. Lan is like the wolves and Yaoshi is like the deer.
Also small side note the Vidyadhara's immortality isn't something Lan needs to constantly keep in check because their immortality is that of the Permanence not the Abundance, they have a life cycle but no Vidyadhara are born or killed. The population doesn't change because there is no adding or removing to the species, they’re permanently fixed in place. They aren’t influenced by Yaoshi or Lan, so they kinda fall outside the realm of both.

Drow Name Tables
Something I did as a special favor to @kimmurielsscryingmirror (@eldritchmist ) who showed interest. Because it’s...pretty big I decided to make it into it’s own post.
These are a few Drow naming tables that were originally found in an issue of Dragon Magazine. It’s two d100 tables of prefixes and suffixes commonly used in first names. The second couple of tables is a list of common house name prefixes and suffixes.
EDIT: Just a little something for those who care which I didn’t add before because it took me so long to finish the transcription I just wanted to post it lol. The gender difference is noted in the related Dragon Magazine article as being significant. Non Drow may not notice but a Drow will notice the difference. Female names sometimes borrow parts that are normally only considered male and this is considered fine...but a male with a name that borrows a typically only female part would be seen as extremely taboo.

It's rant time
I swear every time a person says "Alina was a little girl/teenager" and "the Darkling was a weirdo for wanting her" my peace is replaced by an immense annoyance.
So just because the Darkling is immortal he's not....allowed to have a relationship?? So what, he must remain single and alone forever otherwise he's gonna break your white moral code? Do all immortal creatures must remain single and not have a partner?
Since when was Alina a "little girl"? She was seventeen, a certified adult by the Grishaverse standards since people are considered adults by the age of sixteen. So where did the "teenager" term came from?
And bold of you to assume that the word "teenager" even exists in this universe. In the Grishaverse you're a child and then you straight up become an adult at the age of sixteen. There are no teenage years for them.
And these passages from "King of Scars" prove it:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"She's barely sixteen" - which probably means that sixteen is also the age where girls begin to get married. In this case, Elke Marie will get married even sooner and no one bats an eye (everyone except Nikolai who tries to find an excuse to not get married).
And let's not forget the fact that Alina was immortal while she still had her powers. So if she had never lost them, sooner or later she would inevitably end up with Aleksander. The only other creature who could be with her.
Literally no Grishaverse character was disturbed or raised eyebrows for Alina's age. They all chastised her for wanting the "bad guy". Because it was the choice that made them revolt not the age, since she was an adult by then. They expected much from her (to rule, to lead, to fight) because quite simply she wasn't a child.
This babyfication of female characters in every piece of media has become a trend and I don't like it. You people will never accept other fictional universes' rules and you will never allow female characters to have depth and complexity. Alina had a sexual desire for the Darkling, she had feelings for him, she wanted power and she had her own darkness inside her but you will never get her out of the "she was just a little girl" description. You make her even worse than how she was written.
And it's evident how you have no problem with Nikolai proposing to Alina and even suggesting that he wanted children with her but everyone raged when the Darkling showed interest and sexual desire for her.

My little kitten: Yandere Thranduil x baby neko reader part 1.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Age: 3 week old newborn. When Thranduil visits the queen of a neighboring kingdom he wants the queens newborn daughter. Takes place after BotFA and shortly before FotR, Thorin, Fili and Kili lives.
Warning: death, poison, a little gore, kidnapping, Yandere.
King Thranduil is riding his elk to the kingdom of K/N to meet up with Queen M/N who had recently lost her husband.
Later in the kingdom of K/N:
Thranduil and a few of his guards are standing before a woman with thigh length H/C hair and E/C eyes her most noticeable features were her ears and tail that matched her hair. He walks up to her and kissed her hand "It's been awhile M/N." He said to the younger immortal being who smiled "It has Thranduil." M/N said her H/C ears twitching and her tail swaying.
Tumblr media
(What M/N is wearing)
The two rulers are in M/N's private study discussing their kingdom trades, wine, weaponry etc until a maid came in "I'm sorry your majesty but the princess is awake." The young woman said. "Thank you Noelle. You can take the rest of the day off." (Not Noelle from Genshin.) The queen said with a smile and got up with Thranduil who had confusion on his face. "Daughter? I didn't know you and F/N had a child." He said as he followed M/N to the royal wing where her Bed room is at. They walk into the room, Thranduil sees a crib next to M/N's queen size bed and she gently picks up the most beautiful baby he's ever seen “Yes she is three weeks old, her name is Y/N.” Your mother said gently cradling you in her arms. You looked just liked your mother same hair color and same eyes. Thranduil felt something he haven't felt for his own son 'obsession.'
Tumblr media
(What your wearing)
You looked at the elven king in curiosity and gurgled "That is king Thranduil dear." Your mother said while rubbing your soft H/C ears gently making you purr happily unaware of the envious Woodland King 'She will be mine!' Thranduil thinks to himself determinedly.
Later Thranduil's POV:
It was near time for me and my men to leave but M/N proposed a toast to our alliance after she put "My" Y/N down for her nap which gave me the perfect opportunity. When she left I poured a vial of poison in her wine and waited for her to return. After she finally came back we lifted our goblets "A toast to our alliance." She said as we both drink our wines and made our way out of the study as soon as we did the poison took effect and in minutes M/N was on the floor dead. I smirked to myself but was thinking on what to do with the body until I saw two passed out guards drunked an idea pop in my head. I took their daggers, stabbed M/N twice (carful not to get blood on me), smeared the blood on the guards, put the daggers in their hands, went to the bathroom and washed my hands but I heard a maid screaming "QUEEN M/N!" I looked out to see that Noelle girl from earlier trying her hardest not to scream and wake Y/N up soon other guards and servants saw the whole thing. "This is good." I say to myself I managed to sneak over to M/N's room, grab my little kitten from her crib, found a torch, threw it on the ground and made the palace catch on fire. My men managed to get out but the servants and guards from inside M/N's palace didn't making me smirk and look down to Y/N who was purring in her sleep 'cute!' I think to myself "What should we do with the child my lord?" A guard asked me. "She comes with us of course. I will raise her as my own." I said cradling Y/N in my arms and adjusting the F/C blanket she was wrapped in.
In Mirkwood no one's pov:
Thranduil makes his way to the throne room with you in his arms passing guards and servants who are surprised to see you in Thranduil's arms making him smirk more.
He arrives to the throne room, sits on his throne with you resting in the crook of his arm he gently rubs your little ears but as he did you woke up with a squeaky yawn making him smile "hello little one." He said making you coo and stare at him in curiosity. "You are never leaving my side and if anyone tries to take you they are dead." He said gently kissing your forehead "You are mine and mine alone my little kitten." He said still holding you as you cooed in wonder.
At night:
Thranduil is now in his bedroom. After bathing and feeding you he managed to get you to sleep. He lies down with you on his chest and your soft purring making you more irresistible "Good night Y/N, my little kitten." He said kissing your head and falling asleep never ever letting you go.

I'd like to talk a bit about my comic for the Immortal anthology a bit! This theme turned out to be a great excuse to use some characters for a last time who feature strongly in a couple of books I've written -- and also some who appear in Corner the Maze...
Tumblr media
I had a bit of a time putting this together because the digital setup I was testing ending up not working out so I scrambled to get everything done with my old tablet and in Painter, but I'm happy with the end effect!
Tumblr media
Probably the only time you're going to see still-alive Elke in full color, and certainly it was the first time!
Tumblr media
And of course, it wouldn't be complete without a demon-lord...
Tumblr media
So yeah! If you're interesting in seeing more, and seeing everyone else's awesome comics for the anthology, there are still 19 more days to back it on Kickstarter!

Elven Blood Is Worth Spilling, Sometimes
- Thranduil is infamous throughout Middle-earth for never putting elf lives at risk if he can prevent it, because to him, the immortal life of an elf is worth more than the life of any other species
- and you, his Queen, are no exception to that, despite the fact you are no elf
- Thranduil has avoided battles, let innocent townsfolk die, in order to preserve the lives of elves
- when you arrived in his life and were made aware of this habit of his, it goes without saying that you were very unhappy
- it caused your first arument with the King, one that he surely lost after you shocked him into silence with a final statement
“One day, something so terrible will happen to someone you cant bear to lose, and you will feel the pain of those you have ignored who have come to you for aid. Thranduil will feel the immortal guilt of a thousand men, because he will provide that help for himself, when he did not extend that same consideration to others.”
- you took your rest in separate chambers that night, because you could not contain your frustration at the man you had married
- all the same, you could not sleep without him, and while he lay anguished in his otherwise empty bed, you roamed the halls of the castle, the moonlight streaming in through the arched windows, causing your skin to glow, and the silk of your dress to act as a hundred mirrors
- you walked to a stream and sat down beside it, allowing your fingertips to dance across the top of the water and transform the image of the moon
- you heard a sniggering laugh, and before you could turn around, a cloth was held against your face, and the sharp inhale from your gasp forced the strange smelling solution into your body, rendering you unconscious
- you awoke with your hands tied to a branch above your head, wearing nothing but your undergarments as the gaggle of orcs surrounding you tore the material of your dress between them. given the value of the jewels decorating that particular gown, and the rich silk that it was made from, it was hardly surprising that the orcs chose to save some for later bargaining endeavors
- they taunted you and poked your body with the sharp edges of their blades, leaving you with a few cuts, but no fatal wounds
- meanwhile, the King felt an imbalance in his heart, something was not quite right, and before he knew it he was searching the castle for you, wanting to make amends with you, regardless of not truly understanding the lesson you were trying to teach him
- however, upon discovering your disappearance, the lesson you were trying to teach him very quickly sunk into his skin
- without a moment to spare, he woke every admirable tracker he knew, and forced his entire army to be ready to leave the kingdom, all in under half an hour
- the orcs had not anticipated that the King would acknowledge your absence so quickly, for they had remained unaware of his blinding fondness for you, and they took very few precautions in hiding themselves from anyone trying to find them
- you kept your expression calm as the orcs continued to provoke you, and when you heard a rustle in the foliage surrounding you, you smiled to yourself
“Well, boys, it has been lovely getting acquainted with you, but Im afraid or conversation is about to end, along with all your lives.”
- and in comes Thranduil on his Elk, charging through the orcs and lifting them off the ground as the elves in the foliage stand, trapping the remaining orcs in a very small circle
- Thranduil instructed that no other elf is allowed to kill an orc that they encountered on this occasion, because it was a personal issue that only he could resolve
- the elves restrained every orc that the King had not already butchered, and with one final sweep of his blade, Thranduil decapitated the monsters that remained
- only then could he allow himself to look at you, because had he done so before, he would have been too overcome to continue his rampage
- Thranduil gazed at you, eyes with filled with such adoration and sorrow as he stared into your soul, taking a few steps towards you before he realised you had been stripped to your undergarments, and the entire elven army could see.
“Turn away now, or your fates will end in the same manner as these retched creatures!” He seethed to the army, who immediately turned their backs on you, but stayed in formation and shielded you both from any other potential dangers.
- you couldnt help but chuckle at this, and the sound of your joy bought a smile to the King’s face, even in those circumstances
- he removed the ropes from your hands and held you close to his armoured chest, but upon remembering his armour, quickly pulled away to discard it so that he could hold you properly
- Thranduil then removed his cloak and wrapped it around your form, shielding you from any pair of eyes that werent his
- you smiled up at him as he looked over your wounds.
“Did you learn your lesson, my love?”
Thranduil nodded frantically.
“Yes, you have opened my eyes.”
“And what do your eyes see?”
“That an elven life is no more or no less valuable than any other, for a length of time to live does not permit the extent of experience in that life. And I would risk any immortal life if it meant you were safe once more.”
- Thranduil helped you up onto the Elk, and the two of you rode with the army back to the castle, with you almost falling asleep against the King’s chest
- as soon as you were home, Thranduil carried you to your shared chambers and laid you down on the bed, gently tending to your wounds, before laying beside you and pulling you back into the safety of his embrace
“I know now that one can live more in lesser years.”
“How is it that you know this?”
“I have lived more with you in our short years together, than I could have ever dreamed of in my previous three thousand years.”

In search of the sutra scrolls that will save all sentient beings, the high priest Sanzang traveled thousands of miles with his three disciples, Son Wukong, Cho Hakkai, and Sha Gojyo. Note
What was macaques life like with his troop and how did he end up as a prisoner ? What was being a prisoner like?
Macaque's life with the troop had been relatively peaceful (if not maybe a bit sheltered by The Elder and his generals/marshals) on Moon Blossom Mountain.
The troop was very much a culture that was focused heavily on dance and theater, which is where Macaque's love for it comes from. Even after all this time, this aspect of his previous life never left.
The Demon King of Havoc and his army had launched a full scale invasion on Moon Blossom Mountain, ruled by The Elder of the troop Macaque was a part of. This invasion had succeeded in running what was left of the troop off of the mountain (most had been killed in the attack, and whoever remained had not escaped without sustaining serious injuries)
Macaque had been separated from the rest of the troop and had been captured by Havoc himself, who knew the tiny monkey was someone the Elder held dearly (as if his own child). He decides not to kill Macaque to keep him as proof of his victory over Moon Blossom Mountain, basically like a war prize.
Macaque does not know what happened to the troop, he assumed that Havoc's army had wiped them all out. Demon King of Havoc brags as much whenever the topic comes up (though, whether it's actually true is another topic)
His life as a prisoner under Havoc was essentially Hell on Earth. Treated as sadistic amusement for DKH and his high ranking followers (lot of sensory deprivation, along many other methods of torture, involved in said "amusement").
He almost forgot what it was like to be treated so kindly and warmly, as another being with feelings rather than an object, by the time he met Wukong and his monkeys.
It was only after 700 years of being prisoner that Macaque finally managed to kill the Demon King of Havoc, with the ever malicious influence of The Immortal All-Seeing Soothsayer Elk
(A.K.A the Shadowy Entity that has taken residence in Macaque's body, that's what I've decided to call it now lol)
The death of Havoc was the first time Macaque had ever stained his own hands with the blood of another. Then, he ran.

Wisdom of the Thunder Beings
Tumblr media
The Thunder Beings are a related family of divine beings who bring about weather changes such as thunder, lightning, wind and rain. Through their power abiding in the atmosphere, they sustain the Earth and protect the people. Through lightning, they directly purify the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the earth we cultivate. They create a world-wide lightning display that produces and maintains the "heartbeat frequency" (Schumann resonance) of the Earth's electromagnetic grid. Their holy medicine includes creativity, fertility, protection, peace, harmony, balance, compassion, wisdom, enlightenment, death and rebirth. Through the Thunder Beings, all life has been created, is sustained and will be destroyed. They sustain balance and destroy imbalance, the cause of suffering.
From time immemorial, people have worshiped the Thunder Beings. They are the source of all ideological, religious and spiritual transmission. The early cultures attribute their belief systems to the teachings of rain gods and goddesses. Their myths tell of how rain deities created the world, humans and all life. They came down to Earth in the distant past and gave humanity language, law, the arts, spiritual sciences, wisdom and knowledge. The Thunder Beings were instrumental in teaching their mortal cousins how to properly honor and commune with the spirits to gain their blessings.
The core beliefs and principles of all spiritual cultural traditions come from the Thunder Beings. The Native American spiritual traditions originated from the rain deities known as Wakinyan, Animiki and Kachinas. The Mongolian shamanic traditions originated from the sky deity known as Tengri. The Maya shamanic traditions originated from the lightning deities known as Chaac, K'awiil and Yaluk. The Chinese Taoist traditions originated from a thunder god known as Lei Kung. The Australian Aboriginal shamanic traditions originated from the cloud and rain spirits known as Wandjina. They are the roots of all integral shamanic and wisdom traditions.
Among the Yoruba people of West Africa, the orisha (god) of thunder is known as Shango. Shango is renowned for his oshe, a double-headed battle-ax, as well as the double-headed bata drum he uses to summon rain storms. The orishas are the powerful divine spirits of the Yoruba religion. They are the creator and sustainer of all things. They are the manifestations of primordial energies, both creative and destructive. They are the conduits by which life and all cultural wisdom entered the world. Like all of the Yoruba gods, Shango is both a deified historical ancestor and a divine natural spiritual force. Orishas enter the mortal world, complete epic feats, live, die and then are reincarnated into the world to complete even more amazing tasks. They are immortal energies that represent a core part of Yoruba philosophy and belief.
Every spring, the Lakota people gather at Black Elk Peak in the sacred Paha Sapa (Black Hills) for the "Welcome Back the Thunders" ceremony. The Lakota ceremonial season begins with the return of the Wakinyan or Thunder Beings. According to legend, the Wakinyan are huge winged beings that humans cannot see because they are shielded by thick clouds. Thunder is made by the sound of their voices, and lightning is created when they open and close their eyes. The Wakinyan created wild rice and gave the Lakota the spear, the tomahawk and pigments to make them impervious to weapons. The annual vernal equinox ceremony ends with Lakota teens carrying a sacred pipe and food offerings to the top of Black Elk Peak. As the highest point in the Paha Sapa, the Lakota consider it to be the most appropriate spot to bring prayers to Wakan Tanka (Great Mystery).
Among the Pueblo people of the American Southwest, the deities known as kachinas bring the rain for their three main crops: corn, beans and squash. Puebloans believe that kachinas are divine spirits present in features of the natural world such as clouds, winds, thunder and rain. They are also ancestral spirits that help connect humans with the spirit world. They come to the human realm to collect the people's prayers and take them back to the spirit realm. The kachinas dwell in sacred mountains and other holy places, but spend half of each year living near Pueblo villages. During this time, the men of kachina societies perform traditional ceremonies linked with the presence of the spirits. They wear costumes and elaborate masks and perform songs and dances associated with specific kachinas. The Puebloans say that during these rituals each dancer is transformed into the spirit being represented.
In the Asian traditions, the Thunder Beings are responsible for expressing the higher truth of spiritual reality, safeguarding it and disseminating it for the benefit of all beings. The essence of the Asian spiritual traditions is the direct experience of enlightenment--of perfect tranquility and unconditional bliss. This experience is fully attained through the Thunder Beings by virtue of their mystical thunder and lightning blessings. In Tantric Buddhism, their names and images are used in visualization-based meditations to awaken the mind. Through the proper use of these images and sacred sound in meditation, we can liberate our minds from suffering.
The Thunder Beings are invisible, yet out of compassion they reveal themselves through thunder, lightning, wind and rain. Their visible manifestation or mystical visitation is universally one of storm-display. Even though there is great destructive rage in storms, in truth this is merely a means of ushering in peace, of clearing great obstructions. Everything that the Thunder Beings do has the effect of bringing about peace and harmony.
Thunder Beings are perfect and beyond suffering. Nature is their manifestation; it is quite beautiful and harmonious. Where there is calamity, the cause is poor human activity, such as war, pollution and environmental devastation. There is little peace on Earth because there is little peace in our hearts. In order to establish it, we must diligently work for it through meditation and through compassionate activity. Meditation--whether it's silent or drumming up a storm--increases our wisdom and insight, our capacity to be of true help to others. Wisdom is the light of the Thunder Beings shining through our heart. It is the lightning within us striking its way out.

My “Shot in the Dark” Prediction for Magic’s Next Year of Story
Tumblr media
Wilds of Eldraine
We already know this story, but its contents are worth revisiting in order to have context for the rest of the story. Ashiok has helped Eriette, seemingly the aunt of Rowan and Will and a truly devious witch, prolong the sleep curse that was used to put all the Phyrexians invading Eldraine to sleep. Now, the curse is spreading and the Kindly Lord of the fae, Talion, is enlisting the help of others to correct a mistake they made by brokering a deal with three witches to construct this curse.
Tumblr media
Talion enlists Kellan, a half-fae child and one of the main protagonists of the next year of story at least, to defeat the three witches they worked with to construct the curse. Kellan wishes to know who his father is, so he accepts this quest. Meanwhile, Rowan has been deeply traumatized by the loss of her parents during the Phyrexian Invasion, and is slowly descending into a mad lust for power. And not just any power, but the power to change the world around her as she pleases. She hates how Will, a much bigger pacifist than her, is handling the whole situation, and has decided to take matters into her own hands.
Her quest eventually leads her to Eriette, who convinces Rowan to join her so that The Realm can live happily ever after in their dreams forever. After a climactic battle involving Rowan, Will, Eriette, Kellan, and Ashiok, The Realms are saved from the curse of slumber. Eriette is defeated by Kellan and Ruby, a companion Kellan met along the way who assisted him in defeating the various witches in his quest. Will plays as a game of Magic against Rowan, using a Control strategy to survive her Aggro strategy, so that he could stall until he had an opening to force Ashiok to flee by sending a bolt of ice at Ashiok’s chest. Rowan is then forced to flee.
Kellan, having completed his quest, eventually learns that his biological father is Oko, the bastard from the previous Eldraine set that famously turned King Kenrith (and most of Magic) into an elk. He then finds an Omenpath and unknowingly likely leaves Eldraine for a long time, having been transported to a different plane with no easy way to return. It is then implied that Eriette, after being broken out of jail by Ashiok, does the same.
Tumblr media
Lost Caverns of Ixalan
Now we get into the realm of speculation as we venture into the next set: Lost Caverns of Ixalan. We know little of this set except that it is a “Race to the Center of the Earth” style of story that will also have us meet various mythical figures from Ixalan’s mythology. However, there are three particular, currently unconfirmed characters I want to speak about appearing in Ixalan, as their presence is either very significant for the remaining story or was hinted at in earlier sets.
Tumblr media
Vraska was last seen on Ravnica, recently compleated and sent off by Elesh Norn to do the same to the rest of Ravnica. However, she was defeated by Ral and then mysteriously vanished after having a vision of Jace flash within her mind. Seeing as Ixalan is where Jace and Vraska’s love for each other first blossomed, I believe it is likely the last remains of uncompleated Vraska’s instinctively planeswalked to Ixalan as she was defeated by Ral. Due to the fact that Phyrexian planeswalkers were compleated likely through corrupting their sparks, the loss of her spark could cause Vraska to revert back to her normal form on Ixalan. This is important as she has both a role to play later and a familiar enemy to face.
Tumblr media
Azor, the one responsible for the Guildpact system of Ravnica, the creator of the Immortal Sun, and one of few characters who were once planeswalkers still alive to possibly rival Bolas as far as meddling goes, is currently still on Ixalan. However, with the appearance of Omenpaths, Azor has a new route to renew his meddling ways and potentially even return to Ravnica. Well, its a good thing the next set isn’t set on Ravnica yeah?
Tumblr media
Finally, Quintorius was last seen on Arcavios defeating the Phyrexians who invaded Strixhaven. At the end of his own quest, Quint sparked. While his role is yet to be seen, a set themed entirely around diving down to uncover the lost history of Ixalan sounds right up Quint’s alley.
Tumblr media
Murders at Karlov Manor
Oh would you look at that, the next set actually is on Ravnica. Someone has been murdered at Teysa’s manor, which, for a family most well known for turning into ghosts, isn’t particularly crazy sounding to me personally. However, it’s still a big deal as someone is going to get framed for these murders, and Ravnica is going to need a judge to decide who is guilty. Who could fill that role…
Tumblr media
Oh right. I think it’s likely Azor and Vraska return to Ravnica, only for Azor to meddle and attempt to put the blame on those he sees as the most chaotic for Ravnica, being Vraska and our favorite demon…
Tumblr media
…Rakdos. Whether they actually did it is meaningless, as this leads to the finale.
Tumblr media
Outlaws of Thunder Junction
This is where fates collide. Vraska and Rakdos flee through an Omenpath to the wild west, where they meet Oko and, eventually, Kellan as well. After joining with two other individuals, the “Magnificent Six” will face off against the cruel face of corrupt law, Azor, and change all of their fates forever. Eventually, Azor will be defeated, and likely flee to his other unfinished business partner, Ugin. This leads to the next story arc: the Dragonstorm Arc.

Anti-Chronicles – The Major Players
This is a list of every major character from my WIP Anti-Chronicles. These are characters that serve as the point of view of different chapters, or are historically significant, politically significant or narratively significant. Each entry on this list comes with a short description, a link to their general tag on my Tumblr, and any links to playlists or Pinterest boards if they have them. These lists will be organised into two sections; Bronze Eden and Nod. A third section, called Beyond, may be added in the future.
In the cases where a character features significantly in excerpts and appears regularly in this blog, a separate, more extensive character profile will be written as a separate post and linked to here. This would be to keep track of all the excerpts they appear in and the narrative they're following, as well as a more thorough description and potentially self-drawn or commissioned artwork.
Taglist for Anti-Chronicles (ask to be + / -); @digital-chance, @solipseismic, @sengawolf
List continues under the cut.
Bronze Eden
Potentate Magnus
God-King of Bronze Eden, his power is absolute. The Potenate Magnus is the single most powerful man in Bronze Eden with complete control over everything that happens. Over 100 years old and with multiple children, his reign seems immortal, impossible to imagine a Bronze Eden without it. Married four times, his third wife Gloriana staged a failed coup against him some years ago and since then he and his family have become extremely reclusive, relying on spokespeople to deliver the doctrines of the Potentate Dynasty. Mask: ivory and gold, eyeless that seems to render him blind, with giant elk-like antlers of gold with precious jewels and metal flowers hanging down.
pinterest board
Potentate Augustus
The Potentate Primus of the Empyrean's Church, Augustus has supreme power over the church, the only religious body left in Bronze Eden. He is the second most powerful Potentate in Eden, second only to his father, Magnus. As his first born son, Augustus is next in line for the throne. He has only one son of his own from before he took his Primus vows and became celibate, the Potentate Orsete. He is also the only son of Magnus' first marriage to Maria, who died in childbirth. Mask: ivory and gold, eyeless like his father's, but with golden halos above his head rather than antlers.
Potentate Boris
The Potentate Boris is the second born son of the Potentate Magnus, set to inherent the responsibilities of the business and financial sectors of Bronze Eden, before tragically taking his own life at age 22. Childless and unmarried, he has been canonised as a saint following his untimely death. Mask: simple black resembling a face, but heavily angular, almost cubist.
Potentate Salvatore
In charge of the arts and education sectors of Bronze Eden, the Potentate Salvatore is one of the most influencial people in Bronze Eden. The segregated education system between the wealthy and the poor is due to him. The propaganda inciting fear of Nod and Nod customs is due to him. Particularly passionate about theatre, he as an exaggerated public persona that hides the cruel streak in him. Mask: ivory and gold, resembling a horned demon with a warped grimacing face, designed to provoke and outrage.
Potentate Felipe
The fourth son of the Potentate Magnus and the last child of his second marriage to Penelope, who died of flu while 4 months pregnant with her fourth child. He is the Seraph of the army of Bronze Eden, the supreme authority in all internal security and external war efforts in Bronze Eden, second only to his father. Under his guidance, anything to do with Nod has been heavily criminalised in Eden, punishable by death. Mask: ivory and gold, ram-like with unwieldly large horns.
Potentate Clymene
The fifth child and only daughter of the Potentate Magnus, Clymene is charismatic and beloved, making the most consistent public appearances of the family. The first child of his wife Gloriana, Clymene was separated from the rest of her family during the coup, and continues to hold secrets her mother divulged to nobody else. She was once set to inherent the medical sector of Bronze Eden, but traded responsibilities with her younger brother, the Potentate Zephyr. A shrewd scientist, she often attends conventions where she is most commonly scene. Like her younger brother, she is recognisable for her shocking red hair. Mask: a very simple and practical black mask, but often wears extravagant broadbrimmed hats with tassels and viels to give the illusion of more detail and glamour.
pinterest board
Potentate Zephyr
The youngest Potentate, Zephyr is closest to his sister, and extremely reclusive to everyone else. Magnus reportedly barely knows his name. Unlike the rest of his family, Zephyr is not particularly ambitious nor power-hungry, preferring to keep to the shadows or by his sister's side. Unlike Clymene, he has very few memories of his mother Gloriana, as he was born during the coup. Often disappears from the Temple of Eden for random periods. Rumoured to be an alchoholic. Mask: black plague-doctor esque.
pinterest board
Potentate Louis
Second grandchild of the Potentate Magnus, he is largely insignificant and unimportant. His father being the Potentate Felipe, he has a militaristic mindset. Paranoid, but scientific, he is particularly involved in the developing war technology of Bronze Eden. Following his kidnapping, he becomes a powerful bargaining chip for Nod as the conflict mounts. Mask: ivory and gold, hawklike, feathers decorating his head.
playlist
Singularity
The Singularity is the direct voice of the God-King, delivering his doctrines and speeches to the people of Eden, often representing him at meetings and events. The current Singularity has become an increasingly common sight in Bronze Eden, as the God-King becomes more and more reclusive as the war mounts. Mask: covers the entire face, blind and mouthless, gold, ivory and red, with a half-halo behind the head that is part of the collar of the clothes.
Ed Edwards
Dr Ed Edwards was once a heavyweight boxing champion, but recently made a career change into nuclear physics. He becomes one of the most prominent figures in Bronze Eden during the war with Nod, specialising in nuclear bombs. Standing at 233 cm or 7'8, he is a physical force to be reckoned with, and is never seen without his assistant, Niles Clarke. Mask: gold and leather respirator mask, very simple and no-nonsence in design. Comes with goggles.
pinterest board / playlist
Sal Solomon
A close partner of Ed Edwards, Sal Solomon is often forgotten from history, but remains a vital contributor to the war effort against Nod. Once a laughing stock of the scientific community for his wild and unproven theories, he is one of the most trusted advisors to the Potentate dynasty, with a pure scientific perspective on things, no matter how many people that may get hurt or die as a result of his inventions. Mask: Golden skull.
pinterest board / playlist
Imperator V
One of the Imperators of Bronze Eden, Imperator V takes his role as one of the divine defenders of the city very seriously. Mute, he is used to being objectified by most that meet him, who rarely know sign language. A gentle giant at heart, Imperator V nontheless is no stranger to violence and will not hesitate to employ it when necessary. Mask: in the shape of many hands, covering his entire head and partially clasped over his eyes and his mouth.
pinterest board / playlist
Imperator O
Another Imperator of Bronze Eden, Imperator O is notable for being the Imperator most commonly told off by the priests of Bronze Eden for her overuse of force and violence when apprehending and liberating people. Stout, wielding a warhammer, she is the second most feared Imperator in Bronze Eden, second only to Imperator III. Mask: a solid bronze boar head with hornes that exhales smoke through it's nostrils when she breathes.
Imperator III
Known as the perfect Imperator, Imperator III is truly a sight to behold. White and shiny, he truly encapsulates the idea of being the Righteous Fist of the Empyrean. The giant claymore he wields is called the Word of the Empyrean, golden with a pulsating white orb where it is thickest towards the base. No matter how many people he slaughters, his white, angelic armour remains clean. Even his fellow Imperators and the Priests of Eden are terrified of him. Mask: white, with many halos surrounding the head like many wheels, eyeless and mouthless.
pinterest board
Sylvester Praeceptor
The youngest of the Praeceptor family, Sylvester was born out of desperation of his father when the rest of his siblings proved improper to inherit the family legacy. By the time he was just becoming a man, his father had been arrested for fraud. Luckily, the family fortunes were about to change as Sylvester went to university and became a doctor, eventually creating the small respiratory filters found in most designed masks in Bronze Eden. Intelligent, manipulative, shrewd, his father can at least be grateful his last son proved a success... so long as Sylvester keeps certain things hidden. Mask: a ceramic, gold and ruby mask in a contorted grin, resembling the Thalia, to match Jules Praeceptor's Melpomene.
pinterest board / playlist
Nod
Ucalegon
One of the freedom fighters of Nod, Ucalegon is just old enough to remember the Nod from before the war with Bronze Eden and now attempts to avenge what was lost. Yet despite her fighting for Nod, she always keeps her own goals in mind, even when they appear contradictory. She prefers to speak in metaphorical terms rather than directly, to confuse and lead astray. Quick, brutal, exacting, and intelligent, she is all a Nod freedom fighter would want to be–and yet has a soft spot for one of the Potentates, whom she has sworn to make extinct.
pinterest board / playlist
Dahra
Another freedom fighter of Nod, Dahra was once a young girl living in Bronze Eden with her working class family. She lived a rough but ultimately loving and fulfilling life, until her parents were murdered by an Imperator on suspicion of being Nod sympathisers. Now, Dahra is an emotionally damaged and volatile young woman, in a myriad of tumultuous relationships who has started to seek out the defenders of Nod, to extract her revenge for the death of her family. She has a lot to learn however, and she is not as good as an actor as she may think.
playlist
Lady Jezebel
The voice of Nod, Lady Jezebel runs the most popular radio station on Nod, reaching all three major cities and keeping everyone up to date on the latest news of all things, from the political affairs in Bronze Eden to the mundane stories of normality in Nod. She also provides music to the people of Nod, no sound too obscure, no genre left unturned. Despite her fame among the people of Nod, her true identity remains unknown, with nobody even being sure where she broadcasts from. Despite these questions, she remains a fundamental part of the Nod culture, bringing so many together with her voice and music.
Object of Faith
A mysterious figure in Nod, Object of Faith is secluded from most, with only their old friend Ucalegon and the young fighter Cerebellum visiting them often. A collector of clockwork, Object of Faith seems to have been changed permanently from the time rifts that have opened up all around Nod, no longer quite tethered to the same mortal plane as everyone else. They often go fishing in the time rifts, which has led to them being a well-known source of strange weaponary and items that come from these rifts, despite their strange and unsettling disposition.
Vítor Cadogan
Vítor is very well known in his home city of Golden Glimpse in Nod, having once been the city's very own vigilante superhero, the Golden Gladiator, to tackle the city's issues of gang activity and warfare. Now a good deal older and wiser, he has become more known for running an agency to help and support the same disenfranchised young people he once fought as a superhero so many years ago. Partially out of guilt, Vítor will do anything to protect the children under his protection, even if it means leaving the shadow of the city he has dedicated his life to for so long, even if it means keeping secrets close to his chest.
pinterest board / playlist
Saccade
A long time ago, Saccade was happy. She had a family, a child, and lived a difficult but ultimately joyous life in Rhapsody. Like most people, the war with Bronze Eden came with heavy losses, and now Saccade resides in Neo-Babylon, the radioactive wasteland of a city that is the most dangerous place in Nod, as a mercenary and detective for hire. Despite her age and her bad leg, she is still a force to be reckoned with, unafraid to punch out whover needs punching out, or at least whoever she's being paid to punch out. Despite her new lifestyle and all her effort though, her ethics haven't quite been crushed out of her, as she will soon learn when Vítor Cadogan comes to hire her.
pinterest board / playlist
The Undark
Nowhere else in Nod was ravaged by radioactivity quite like Neo-Babylon, where a power station was sabotaged and exploded, unleashing the cloud of Brume that lingers over the city like a toxic blanket. As a result, the people that were not killed by the disease have become strange, mutated, with their bodies growing in strange and grotesque ways, and occasionally even developing bizarre powers. These people have become known as the Undark, and often live together in the most dangerous places of Neo-Babylon, right by the shoreline where the Brume lays the thickest. They are also referred to as Glow-Boys, or Sponges.
Hendrix
One of the leaders of the Undark, Hendrix lives with his people in one of the many abandoned ocean liners in Neo-Babylon. Modelling himself after a pirate, Hendrix has a larger than life personality befitting of the captain he wants to be, who has amassed a reputation for his ruthlessness and impulsivity. While he usually keeps himself covered, underneath his impressive blue justacorps is a body covered in bizarre and spreading shell-growth, barnacles and coral slowly taking over his body. Black-market painkillers are a common import into his ocean-liner because of this. His own body slowly becoming more shell than man isn't the only effect the radiation has had on his body, but everything else is kept strictly private and secret.
pinterest board / playlist
Diomede
A former leader of the Vagor, the nomadic people who wander around Nod, Diomede has been exiled from his community for reasons he hasn't told anyone yet. Like most Vagor, he is a heavily proficient weaponsmith, but prefers to sort things out diplomaticly when possible. As a leader, his capacity for diplomacy and violence in equal measure was one of his most admired traits, but was less capable as a strategist. Once was known for being more friendly and personable than most of the Vagor, he has since become very reclusive and lonely following his exile, becoming increasingly reckless to try and earn the death refused to him in his exile. Horsegirl.
pinterest board / playlist
The Shimmerfolk
Before the war with Bronze Eden and the collapse of the Nod economy, a common pasttime for the wealthy of Nod was to gain cybernetic enhancements, to prolong their lives and to act as fashion accessories. This reckless spending of their money on something for the sake of aesthetics while many of those injured in Bronze Eden attacks recieved nothing resulted in these people being hated by the majority of Nod, for their wealth and greed. Now, the few left of these people operate in hiding, exclusively looking out for their own interests and having little interest in the war above for the most part. The Shimmerfolk as we know them are Harlow, Kelly, Reveré, Bela and Nicolau.

Prank time: big brother Legolas x teen little sister reader x Rivendell brothers part 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Reader Chan is doing another prank on Legolas and the Rivendell brothers.
You laughed as you doodled on Legolas's face while he was asleep,
You drew a mustache above his lips, silly drawings of cute animals and wrote in Sindarin the word “Dunce” on his forehead.
Satisfied with your work you quickly and quietly left the room giggling to yourself as you ran to your own room and fell asleep in bed.
In the morning followed by dad Thranduil coddling reader:
You are asleep peacefully in your bed cuddling your favorite elk stuff animal when you're door bursted open and Legolas is standing above your queen size bed his face red in rage and steam came out of his ears making you smirk “Well I hope you’re here to apologize.” You said falling back asleep until the Rivendell brothers bursted in their faces red in fury “YOU.” They said in fury as they came to your bed side.
The sight of three angry adult male elves and an angry adult immortal human man made you gulp in terror and made you make a dash for the door, screaming on the way out with them chasing you "Y/N THRANDUILRIEL! GET BACK HERE RIGHT THIS INSTANT YOUNG LADY." Legolas yelled out with the Rivendell brothers following not far behind “COME BACK HERE YOU LITTLE BRAT.” They yelled out as well making you run faster.
Thranduil and Elrond are in a meeting with Gandalf discussing what is going on in your homeland while drinking cherry blossom wine from K/N "The night Elves have great taste in wine!" Gandalf complemented taking a sip of the light pink liquid when a scream was heard making the grey wizard squirt out the wine from his nose (that happened to me with soda and it's painful as heck.) making him cough and fan his nose with his pointed hat when the door bursted open revealing a terrified you and the boys with doodles on their red faces looking like they wanted to pulverize you.
All of you ran around the room with you hiding behind Thranduil and Elrond "SAVE ME." You screamed clutching to their sleeves with the boys stopping in front of them "um… what happened this time?!" Thranduil asked gesturing to the sharpie doodles on their faces.
Estel waisted no time in pointing at you "It was your kid she did this to us." Estel said with the others agreeing "Yeah we know it was her." Elladan said in rage "Fess up you little orc." Elrohir said "Y/N is this true?" Thranduil asked "Yes." You confessed "Ha’ we knew it was her. The criminal confesses." Legolas cheered with the Rivendell brothers doing victory dances until their fathers and Gandalf said something that made their blood cold "Next time pour honey in their shoes." Elrond said, "Or put frogs in their tubs." Thranduil said next, "Or perhaps put bugs in their beds." Gandalf said chuckling while you looked up in awe at the three ancient beings while the boys screeched out "DON'T ENCOURAGE HER." They said in terror while you brainstormed more ideas to prank them.
