since we’re heading to minrathous in veilguard i’ve been thinking abt a tevinter rook - do u have any thoughts on tevinter’s gender roles? i was wondering abt the male chantry structure + dorian’s talk of the magister/altus class being obsessed w bloodlines and heirs… ik dragon age gender lore is inconsistent lol but i’d love to hear your opinions anyway 🙏 i absolutely trust u more than i trust bioware

i think the most sensible reason for tevinter to have its more patriarchal structure is religious. in the south, andraste is venerated above all else, and this is (canonically) the given reason that women are looked to for spiritual guidance, whereas men are considered vulnerable to the dangerous passions of maferath. however, in the tevinter chantry, they like to put another male figure front and centre: archon hessarian, the tevinter leader who mercifully(ish) slew andraste on the pyre rather than let her suffer, and later converted both himself and the imperium as a whole to andrastianism.

everyone andrastian likes this guy; it’s his blade of mercy on the templar uniform, and so on. but the tevinters like him even more so (again, canonically) and consider him the most important of andraste’s disciples. (because he’s the tevinter one, obviously.) ergo, more important than maferath. so my line of thought would be a) they do not have the aversion to male spiritual guidance that the south does, because their leading man is hessarian not maferath, and b) hessarian was an archon of the imperium and the leader of andrastianism in tevinter in his day, so of course all future archons and tevinter divines should follow in his footsteps.

i can see how that would cause a serious religious divide in the early schism days. from the southern perspective, spiritual leadership is being handed over to the untrustworthy, and hessarian is being falsely idolised. from the northern perspective, perhaps the female leaders of the southern chantry are going too far by assuming themselves as heir to andraste herself, which i can see being considered blasphemous compared to simply following in the example of one andraste’s disciples. we do know canonically that one of the big pre-schism issues was the sunburst throne refusing to recognise tevinter’s male grand clerics. (which is why another big reason for initially choosing a male divine when the schism began would have simply been defiance. i’m trying to think through why that decision lasted aside from dorian’s comment that they’re still doing it just because it’s the done thing.)

anyway, it for sure makes sense for that to filter into culture more broadly, especially given that it affects who gets into the top seats of power in such a status-driven society. and as soon as that’s true of a group, the people who do have access to those seats are rarely quick to open them up to more competitors. i can see altus women instead taking political roles where their primary ambition is to push their husbands, sons, brothers, etc. into these positions. classic scheming mother historical archetype

the altus obsession with bloodlines makes perfect sense to me, it’s kind of the natural progression of venerating something that can apparently be inherited by blood, and seeing that thing as a sign of literal divine favour that puts you into a special class above the rest. the only thing i would dislike narratively is any implication that this actually works to increase ability, lmao. tevinter may produce more powerful mages because the study of magic is so much more supported there, and because they’re not, you know, preventing the mages having families and thereby decimating the natural population, but let’s not start acting like fantasy eugenics actually makes mages from these mage families inherently more powerful, because that would be incredibly stupid writing. they’re just more likely to be mages because their family are all mages, and then they have far more training resources at hand. and less religious hangups. (luckily all the evidence so far supports dragon age for once not taking a weird angle. it’s not like any of our randomly born mages are somehow not a match for dorian or danarius or whatever other altus we’ve seen in a fight.)

♡- PDA is not really his thing in public but like I said in the previous sentence, he’s your personal teddy bear.

♡- he likes it when he’s a lil spoon, not all the time but especially when he has nightmares then him laying his head on your chest and hearing your heart beat as you gently pet his head is a must!!

♡- If you also worked in the military and lets say at the same base or in his team. He would get super protective of you. Basically if anyone looked at you the wrong way he would glare at them or if sumn were to happen to you he would send them to an infirmary.

♡- So Ik that in the original comic abt Ghost shows him with dark brown hair and now the new version of the MW2 shows him with blond hair. I feel like he’s insecure still about his past and dyes his hair blond in order to look like his mum (he still misses her a lot sometimes) because when he has his brown hair I feel like it would remind him a lil too much about his father and how shitty he use to be to both his mum and him.

♡- As much as he would deny this and say its bullshit. He wants a family of his own, a big one. He wants to be the father that he never had to his children because his was absolute shite. If you yourself have a large family and he caught you once holding your baby niece/nephew he would picture in his head of how would your kid look like. Would it have his hair or yours? Will they have your or his personality? Eyes? Smile? Anything. He would just picture himself holding a small being that both of you created and cherish it like a little drop of sacred water in his palms.

♡- When you catch his ass staring at you while holding said family members child he would just say “Your shirts a little dirty” or something like that. While trying to hide his embarrassment.

♡- Speaking of embarrassment. His cheeks don’t blush, like at all. Unless its freezing cold and he’s out with a thin balaclava on. But when he gets embarrassed the tips of his ears will get extremely red. Johnny would tease him about it.

Literally started this blog just to say how hypocritical F1 – both the people working in it, and the sport itself – is becoming. The main 3 things I want to address is: no.1 women in motorsport, no2 the ongoing genocide in palestine and no3 F1's disallowance of anything political, yet enabling the absolute political shitshow that was the 2024 miami gp.

Numéro 1: I just think its absolute bullshit that the FIA genuinely created a whole ‘Women in Motorsport Commission’, assigned SIX STRONG ambassadors to it, and THEN proceeded (come 2023) to launch a wholeass unfair investigation onto one of them, based on the MOST groundless claims?? Like wtf?? (Talking abt Susie Wolff here). Also, the whole Cristian Horner situation really showed just how much they care about women working under them, bc tell me why the possible victim in his situation was the one getting SUSPENDED, while this possible filth of a man is still parading shamelessly around the paddock?? Like??? AND SOME OF THE DRIVERS COMMENTS ON THE SIRUATION?? pissed me off so much u dont even understand. Anyway, my last point on this convo is how women should ALSO be taken accountable of their actions, and not just glossed over because they’re ‘women’, over here im specifically talking abt Bianca Bustamante and her liked tweet which calls lance stroll autistic… girl :| and her apology was so atrocious as well. WARNINGS: cheating, fight and a bit of panic attack

You and Bill never had the perfect relationship, it was just normal like the all couple. You would fight and disagree about some things, you would make up and fight again.

You had your differences, but you always respected each other, at least that's what you thought.

When you started to feel Bill acting distant you thought it was all in your head. Maybe he really was just tired, after all that was what he said. There was no point in doubting him after so long you have being together.

But it was hard to ignore the feeling that something was wrong when it happened every time he was away for work.

You didn't want to play the annoying, jealous girlfriend. Damn, you were never like this. You even found some of the fans' comments funny.

All of this just made you wonder more and more if you were wrong. You felt deep in your gut that something was wrong and you felt so bad about it. The disconnected mix of feelings. Because you think Bill doesn't love you like he used to and is slowly moving away. Fear of being ungrateful when he doesn't deserve you to doubt him.

All this agony and doubt ended accidentally. Tom and Bill were finishing a song in the studio and you had just prepared a snack for both of them. You entered the room silently with the intention of not disturbing them, but instead of working, the two were arguing and didn't even notice your presence.

“It’s not fair to do that to her, you fucking know that.” Tom shouted angrily pointing his finger in Bill's face who looked more bored than anything else.

“You don’t have to get involved in this, it has nothing to do with you.” Bill responded with a shrug.

You looked from one to the other trying to understand what was going on. They fought sometimes, of course, like any siblings, but it was so rare especially at the level of yelling.

“And what are you going to do when she sees the photos? You know at some point it’s going to get to her.” Tom said and all your doubts, the repressed and confused feelings, everything you had been feeling for the last few weeks made sense.

You weren't crazy, a voice whispered inside your head.

And for a moment you wished you were, you wished all your paranoia was just that, paranoia. Because it would be easier to overcome and much less painful. But no, it was clear that Bill had cheated on you and as if that wasn't enough, you were finding out about it because of his brother. It was so humiliating.

"Shit." You heard someone say and when you looked at them again they were both standing there staring at you.

You didn't know how to react and the only thing you could do was turn around and leave the room as silently as when you had entered. You were so embarrassed. Mainly because of the way Tom looked at you, with so much pity.

You wondered how long he had known. Did the other boys know too? Damn, he talked about a photo. If this is on the Internet then everyone knows. You laughed when the phrase 'the betrayed is always the last to know' came to mind.

You dropped the tray with the snack on the kitchen counter and ran to the bedroom. Your movements were so automatic that you felt like you were teleporting. You took out your cell phone to look for anything, any evidence. You needed to see it. It sounds masochistic, but it's hard to believe that someone you've known for so long would do this to you.

It wasn't very difficult to find. It was everywhere. Bill and another woman together, so close it would be questionable and then in the next photo he is whispering something in her ear while holding her waist and in the next they were kissing.

You held your breath trying to swallow the lump that formed in your throat. You could feel the tears streaming down your face, your hands shaking as you stared at your phone until the screen went blank and you could see your pathetic reflection in it.

Bill entered the room and stared at you for a few seconds. No guilt or anger at being caught. There was nothing. He didn't even seem worried about you. He didn't even say anything.

You felt your heart burn even more. Because, what did you do to deserve so much indifference? What did you do to be treated like this?

You watched as Bill grabbed one of the suitcases and began to put some of his clothes inside.

“Are you just going to leave?” You asked with a choked voice. Bill paused for a moment but then started arranging his clothes again.

You left your cell phone on the bed and walked over to him.

"Answer me." You almost begged as you grabbed him by the shirt forcing him to turn towards you.

You looked at him and he looked back at you. Nothing! You wished he would at least have the decency to look away. Of seeming to feel something. Could it be that you were really so blind and never realized how cold he could be?

Your head was a mess. Why was this all happening out of nowhere?

You continued to feel the warm tears running down your face and you hated that you were crying so much when Bill didn't even show any reaction.

"No." You took a breath and squeezed his shirt tighter. “You can’t just walk away like that.”

Bill grunted. “For God’s sake, sunshine, why do you have to be like this? Can’t you just leave me alone?!”

The nickname made you cringe because you knew he said it out of pure habit and there wasn't any meaning behind it.

You looked at him for looking for anything, any indication of contradiction. Because sometimes your expressions are more real than the words that come out of your mouth. But again there was nothing. Nothing deep in those eyes that enchanted you so much.

“What the fuck do you want to hear instead, huh?” He moved away your hand that was holding his shirt and went back to packing his suitcase.

The feeling of hurt was slowly turning into anger inside you.

"Anything." You spoke louder, moving to his side so you could look at him. “Say it was a mistake, say it wasn’t, say you were drunk, say it was my fault… anything.”

When he didn't react, you took the suitcase from his hands and threw it away, the clothes scattered around the room.

“You can’t just walk away without saying anything.” He tried to free himself from your grip, but the grip on your fingers was rock solid.

Your mind was so messed up, you just wanted him to react somehow. You wanted him to hug you and tell you everything is going to be okay. You wanted him to scream at you. Anything would be better than this total indifference that made your heart hurt.

When Bill tried to push you away again you screamed. Pain, anger, frustration and disappointment burned inside you.

"Say something!" You kept yelling at him.

“I don’t know what you want me to say, I don’t have an explanation.” It was the only cold answer he gave you.

You approached him and started hitting his chest, which didn't seem to have any effect on him. “I want you to react! Say something, fight with me, just…” You screamed as you cried more.

“Stop that sunsh-” You slapped him in the face before he could finish the nickname. Bill grabbed your arm.

"Don't hit me." He whispered to you, tightening his grip on your wrist.

Refusing to listen, your other hand snaked and you tried to hit him again. ''No.'' He warned again, this time holding both of your wrists tightly against the wall above your head.

The two of you stared at each other for a few seconds without saying anything. And it was then that you realized that nothing you said was going to change his mind.

It hurt to realize he had no regard for you. Not even to think you deserve an explanation. No, all he gave you were lies and a quick way out so he wouldn't even have to interact with you.

Bill let go of your wrists and slowly pulled away from you. He gathered his things that were on the floor and simply left without even looking back.

You felt your body slide down the wall until you were sitting on the cold floor. Your body collapsed as you cried uncontrollably.

You imagined that your relationship would end one day, everything always ends, but you never thought it would be this way.

YAY MY FRIEND my kugisakiiii lore... the stuff i built up from nothing .... so we could meet them in my fanfiction.... i basically worked backwards from nobara so i'll show my work

the only like canonical mention of her family AT ALL, that i know of, was i think a passing comment that her grandmother delayed her from coming to jujutsu high

or maybe they jsut said family issues idr right now

so the way i chose to interpret this was that her grandmother knew some about sorcery and was against her granddaughter being part of that life... you can see how that kind of was in action in chapter 6!! her husband had been involved in sorcery and told her about stuff and she was like DUDE. THATS ALL SO BAD. so she was relieved when her son didnt inherit it... and a lot less relieved when it turned out it was just lying dormant a generation

then i took nobara's powers to sort of build out her parents and specifically their professions!!

it never came up in the chapter idt but her dad is a carpenter. when nobara ran off and came back with the hammer thats his tool from his workshop :) the idea of her mom being a barber came from the idea of hair and sympathetic magic!

i am choosing to believe, even though cursed techniques are canonically like genetic, that there is some amount of nurture involved in the shape they take

especially outside of the clans that are basically selective breeding for their hereditary techniques

also, the idea of a barber carries connotations of like... gossip? in a way i thought fit into the profile i was trying to make. i tried to balance some idea of nobara's personality between the family members we met. so her mother was a gossip who had a bit of a sharp tongue but didnt wear it as openly (joking about yuuji's appearance but only when alone with her daughter), while her grandmother had that strong will take no bullshit attitude, then her dad had more of an indulgent thing going on (will spoil that girl as she grows up)

as the CEO of the ketsukane's what do you think of some takes of Kanako if she got to grow up normally/deltarune yellow kanako's? I find it a bit lame that a lot of people just turn her into bigger dorkier Ceroba, I think it'd be fun if more people did stuff with her interests in games and just generally her taking more after Chujin since her taking so much after Chujin (being so self sacrificial) is partially what caused her end in UTY. Idk on the deltarune yellow takes I just find it weird to turn her into some sort of shrine maiden when her wanting to be a superhero is right there. And they'd really think she'd wouldn't grow up with a love for tinkering?

tbh I don’t rly see enough grown up kanako centric fanworks to have any comment on the ‘bigger dorkier ceroba’ aspect ngl???+ in general im a lot more interested in how she’d grow up in the canon uty timeline as an amalgamate, and I am not a fan of how ppl erase the opportunity to explore her being one just to make things more ‘feel good’. but okay, hypothetical of her growing up without the incident taking place/deltarune yellow esque au…,

i do agree she’d take more after chujin obviously, tho I think saying her being self sacrificial is taken solely from chujin is a bit inaccurate, id argue both her parents are self sacrificial (ceroba throws her morality and wellbeing out the window just for a chance to make a difference! its not just chujin). The part id say that comes solely from chujin rather than both of her parents is more her interests and skillset, as u mentioned a bit with the video game he made for her. (and cerobas description of her also leaning towards her being more like chujin ofc)

on that note, i quite like the idea of her getting into robotics! i feel she would find much more success in it than chujin did... not to say there wasn't any passion behind the axis project, but at that point chujins priority had shifted more towards his overambitious goal of protecting the underground from a seemingly imminent threat. the fact that he was clearly less inclined to this line of work than his peers did not and could not stop him. meanwhile i feel like kanako would have a more genuine pull towards robotics, the opportunity to create life out of metal and magic would fascinate her. two of her greatest strengths seem to be her creativity and her intellect, which would mix perfectly in this role.

she would love the opportunity to create something that could help others, especially. another defining trait of hers is how driven she is by a desire to make things right and help others: willingly taking part in chujins experiments shows her love not only for her family, but for all of monsterkind (+getting very tunnel-visioned w the idea of being their 'hero,' title soaked in blood etc etc), and the lengths she is willing to go to show this. obviously making helper bots would be a much healthier outlet for this trait than letting herself get injected with a dangerous serum, lol!

as for the kind of robots she would make, i could see her starting off pretty simple with a bot to help her family out w/ everyday duties, maybe a gardener bot to tend to chujin's garden? as she gets more confident in her abilities, she grows more ambitious, creating bots w much higher capabilities. Though her favourite part always remains giving them their own distinct personalities and forming bonds with them, treating them like family (just as I like to believe she would have done with axis if given the opportunity… kanako and axis friendship is real 2 ME!!!! I could go (and I have b4 lol) on a whole other rant abt how ceroba treats the steamworks robots and how chujin abandons axis once he’s ‘dangerous’, and how this contrasts to kanakos drawing of axis, depicting him exactly as she would in a drawing of a friend to hang on her wall. She would love all robots unconditionallyyyyyy okay)

Anyway, it's complicated. I've become burnt out creatively lately, and I've been part of the sanders sides Fandom since 2018, it's been a big portion of my life, I'm not letting it go that easily.

However, this is my main blog, and I cant really shift everything to a new side blog, so I do feel bad for those who followed me exclusively for sanders sides are now seeing a v distinct lack of it.

But for the most part, yeah, I'm burned out on a lack of updates, I was a fander creator doing as much as I could to create content to entertain myself just as much as for others in-between the hiatus-gaps while awaiting updates. I love these characters with all my heart, but every gap in between has gotten longer and longer, I can't keep waiting for a year at a time for one single update even if the finished product is grand and *absolutely worth* the time it took to make. I was scrambling, bc I no longer have the time I used to to create my own fanart and fanfiction and animatics for this fandom, and I can only reread the library of my favorite saved works over so many times before I feel hollow and under-stimulated.

It'd be one thing if the rest of the fandom was as active as it used to be, I bounce off others creative energy far easier than single handedly manifesting my own inspirations all the time. But it's not, and interaction with my own content slowed way down. (Not to say that I'm leaving just bc of this or anything, but its become a struggle to feel motivated to keep going when there's literally nothing new from Canon to keep riffing from.)

I have the want to finish my remaining fics, specifically The Lost Guardian in particular at the very least, but I just can't solely be a sanders sides blog like I used to be.

I'll be here when that season finale comes out, but at this rate of progression, I think Thomas has overestimated the fact that this could very well be a series finale, not season finale. And I've come to peace with that, if only Thomas would be more transparent abt it.

Sure, Thomas has other content, but funfact, I've had very relatively low interest in getting super into it, there isn't the same level of comfort in shipping characters of a single person with the versions themselves when other characters played by other people are involved, especially when u know that they are alot of his v close friends. I don't ship real world actors together, especially if they play a character very close to representing themselves. The characters they play, maybe, but that's why I'm far more entertained and comfortable with animated media.

In short, I'm tired and burnt out and for now-for *whatever* reason- the silly lanky clown jesters from fnaf have more of a grasp on my brain than sanders sides does. I'm following the serotonin.

I may still create sanders sides content in the future, but getting maybe 100-500 notes on a piece when u have a fandom following of roughly 11.5k followers from over the years has spoken volumes on how active the community is rn. I'm not leaving, but I can't be stagnant and hyperfixate on this anymore after doing so for almost 6 years straight. Yknow?

And for those who have always left a comment, shared my work, interacted with me in any capacity over the years in this fandom, and have made my time in this fandom worth while, thank you. I love you. U have made every second worth it💜

5. Do you respond to comments? ofc!! sometimes it takes me a min because i like to let em marinate but yes i love the interactions and sometimes you get a conversation going its delightful!!

What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? ooh shit. see a lot of my fics are angsty as hell but they tend to end on a positive or at least hopeful note so this is hard. maybe nothing we were ever trained for ? or take this longing from my tongue if it was finished lol, the last chapter’s pretty angsty

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? probably put your arms around somebody else. just a coupla goofballs being dumb and gay (platonically)

8. Do you get hate on fics? not yet and hopefully never. i’ve had some low reading comprehension takes tho

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? ooh so. i would. and i might. especially the angsty thematic and insightful kind

10. Do you write crossovers? yes :3 i don’t even have my longest one posted and i fear it never will be

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? god i hope not

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? no but i have gotten comments in other languages which means someone translated it, if that counts lol

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? noo but i absolutely would

14. What’s your all-time favorite ship? i’ve never shipped anyone or anything (/j i just can’t choose)

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? either my aos high school au (the outline is delicious but it refuses to be written) or that kate/yelena road trip thing. i actually really want to finish that one too but it’s been soooo long

16. What are your writing strengths? i’ve been told i keep things in character really well esp. dialogue, which is super cool and i’m really glad things come across that way. one thing that helps is to take real lines from the character and write them out to see how their speech actually looks written and not spoken, i figure stuff out better that way

17. What are your writing weaknesses? umm sitting down. writing. completing literally anything. not deciding i hate my wip and deleting the entire thing (i’m getting better about the last one, at least i keep my old drafts now)

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? well the only other language i’ve done dialogue in is russian and i do not remotely know russian. so that part is google translate. that said, every “writing bilingual characters” advice post has said that real people don’t mix languages midsentence, but i really think that depends because where i’m from, you hear a lot of spanglish, which is definitely mixed throughout the sentence, so you know. don’t believe everything you see online i guess? anyway those are my thoughts

19. First fandom you wrote for? ough i’ve been writing for a long time so i don’t even really know. but first official fic? gotta be criminal minds. jemily <3

20. Favorite fic you’ve written? GODDD I DON’T KNOWW!!!!! maybe we’ve got to hold on to what we’ve got. i like whump and i like writing it, and i think it’s really in character not to mention it was very popular.
