notes. i wanted to wait to post this when it was snowy outside for me but that never came because it never snows anymore sobbing !!!1!11!!1!

anyways this is like a modern-ish au... i guess??

snowball pelters. as soon as you step outside, you're getting a load of freshly balled up snow—the powder having been turned into an extremely dense sphere—straight to your face. if that's not enough, you'll get some down your back, too. oh, how they just love to see your face cringe out of frigidity, squeezing your eyes shut and mouth so eager to speak, yet being unable to get a single word out. they'll laugh with no shame and taunt you, so your only choice is to take a snow shovel and bury them. see how confident they are then, being completely submerged in the white powder. they'll curse you under their breath (lovingly) and follow you around all day, refusing to not torment you by tossing messily made snowballs at you.

snowman makers. they are the most adorable beings you'll ever see. so concentrated on getting the proportions of the snowmen right, even if they're not the best at it. they look at others' snowmen and get concerned that their own may be a little... unsteady. meaning, the head was too large for the body and was constantly falling over and destroying itself. with a frown, they'd be determined to get it back up on their own, (politely) refusing help. once they get the snowman to hold up long enough for them to go find some sticks, you'd fix it up for them. taking a little bit of snow off the top, adding it to the lower half, and reinforcing the bottom with some rocks covered in snow. once they come back with arms for the snowman, you innocently smile, sitting down in the snow as they eye you suspiciously, but smile and pat you on the head. do they know? ...you can't be sure.

XIAO, gorou, furina, kazuha, KOKOMI, albedo, collei, shenhe, ayaka, TIGHNARI, nilou, ganyu

hot chocolate drinkers. they cozily sit inside, watching their favorite re-runs as they sit on the couch. they watch the people freezing outside with a smug look, lazing around and doing absolutely nothing, wrapped in the largest blankets they could find. this is their... fourth? fifth cup of cocoa, and the bag of mini marshmallows they take from is quickly shrinking. honestly, they feel like a teddy bear with how warm they are. you've got no clue how they're not sweating and dying from the heat. their smirk makes you want to toss them out into the snow and watch them suffer, but they suffer enough when they accidentally spill burning hot cocoa on themselves.

driveway shovelers. they are stuck outside all day, working on clearing the asphalt of snow. it's almost hopeless—the snow doesn't stop, so any of the driveway that gets cleared is covered again in only minutes (it's so tired...) and all that you're left with is someone who's extremely close to face-planting in the snow. honestly, they're probably hoping to get hypothermia—at least it'll put them out of their misery. but them, being the hard workers that they are, miraculously manage to finish shoveling, and join the hot chocolate drinkers after their time in hell, collapsing on the couch (and probably falling asleep).

DILUC, wriothseley, neuvillette, dehya, JEAN, keqing, CANDACE, zhongli, thoma, shinobu, noelle, mika

hill sledders. they'll bust through the door at the first speck of light, holding anything that they could safely use as a sled. honestly, they would sled on a shoveled pile of snow if there wasn't a hill, but they're determined to find a good place to sled. so, they'll drag you along, running around until you can spot some type of slope that'll get you faster than 1 inch per second. once you do, they're so excited they'd probably forget the sled on the way up. so, you're stranded at the top while they carefully slide back down to retrieve the sled. by the time they get back to the top, you're already unimpressed, but they manage to cheer you up. they sit you on the sled and push you down, hopping behind you and holding you tight. cause if they weren't, you probably would've been found sticking out of the nearby heaps of snow.

sleepers. exactly what is sounds like. they will be BURIED in bed all day. not even a fire alarm will be loud enough to wake them up—they are completely knocked out. honestly, they wouldn't even realize it. they were just so cold when they woke up in the morning, so they didn't even bother to leave. they instantly fall back asleep, so the only way to wake them up is leaving them until they thaw in the snow.

i know we're one archon off just enough to make the eight gym leaders in a pokemon au, but consider another approach: the archons as champions ft. some story ideas, i put a concerning amount of thought into this --

mondstadt champion venti (flying • fairy) is fought in secret, since no one can guess he's the champion. the mondstadt elite four are eula (ice • dark), klee (fire • fairy), jean (flying • grass) and finally diluc (fire • flying). venti is friends with celebi - as is nahida - and istaroth manifests as dialga. albedo is kind of like the professor for mondstadt, sucrose gives you your pokedex :] durin is yveltal. dvalin is rayquaza. no one knows about it, but kaeya is friends with articuno.

rhinedottir explores the abyss which is basically the genshin equivalent of the distortion world headed by giratina, aided by her signature hydreigon. dragonspine is our mt silver lol. alice has a delphox (klee has a fennekin) and mismagius. barbeloth, of the hexenzirkel, has a xatu. albedo has a garchomp. for some reason, i picture nicole with hatterene. mona has a cosmog!

zhongli is similar (rock • dragon). the order is hu tao (fire • ghost), yelan (water • dark), ganyu (ice • fairy) and finally xiao (flying • dark). childe boss, but he has like three typings - (water • dark)/(electric • dark)/(electric • water). he has a wailord and probably attempts to fight kyogre with his bare hands in fontaine. oh and his foul legacy is from palkia. the adepti are like pokemon rangers btw! and guizhong, after her death, appears also as a cosmog maybe? xiao has an absol, ganyu has suicune, hu tao has trevenant and spiritomb. azhdaha is groudon guys i'm sorry. ningguang is our professor archetype for liyue, and the pokedex is delivered by keqing on the orders of ningguang.

inazuma has two champions - one as the raiden shogun puppet (electric • steel), and one as ei herself (electric • fighting). ayaka (ice • steel), then kazuha (flying • steel) - but he gets exiled, and is replaced by ayato (water • steel). followed by kokomi (water • dragon), and finally yae miko (electric • fairy). yae miko has ninetales and zoroark, kokomi has milotic and nihilego! yes i know that's an ultra beast shhh. professor trope is yae miko, and you have to smuggle your confiscated pokedex with yoimiya and sayu's help.

sumeru champion nahida (grass • psychic), who is heeded by wanderer (flying • dark) as her deputy. wanderer is like n from pkmnbw, you fight him instead of the champion, the pseudo-champion. btw his signature would be a mega evolving banette. the first elite four member is dehya (fighting • fire), followed by cyno (electric • dark), then nilou (water • grass) who was recently appointed! and finally alhaitham (grass • flying). nilou's position used to be tighnari's (grass • poison) but since he left the akademiya, nilou took it. dehya has a female pyroar, nilou has lilligant. nahida and venti are familiars to celebi and the two formes of shaymin! rukkhadevata manifests as xerneas. apep is zygarde lol. token professor looks to be tighnari, but is really just nahida, and collei gives it to you.

for fontaine, i imagine furina (water • fairy) as the champion who sacrifices her position - and her life - so there's no seat of champion left. she later adopts the (water • dark) typing. the fontaine elite four is fought in this order: navia (rock • dark), wriothesley (ice • fighting), clorinde (electric • steel), and finally neuvillette himself (water • dragon OBVIOUSLY). alternatively, neuvillette assumes champion position and his seat as last member of elite four is supplanted by arlecchino (fire • dark)! neuvillette has a dragonair and is a familiar to kyogre, furina has lapras and manaphy/phione, arlecchino has a houndoom. additionally, lyney (fire • dark), lynette (flying • dark) and freminet (ice • steel) fight for arlecchino. ooh but imagine if they get ahold of latios and latias somehow, and use those to fight you! their signatures are gardevoir (lyney) and gallade (lynette) other than a pair of meowstic, and freminet has an empoleon as well as an espurr. sigewinne has a signature azumarill, and she's the professor! the pokedex you were meant to receive falls in the water, so freminet fishes it out for you.

Snow always means different things to different people. Some spend snowy days outside, having fun with others, or perhaps just trying to get to work through all the snow. Others spend the days cuddled up inside, wrapped in warm blankets and sweaters with a mug of their preferred warm drink.

Such is the way things are in Teyvat as well. When windows cloud with frost and the ground turns an enchanting, glittering white, all of the beings of Teyvat have their ways of spending their time during the cold seasons.

But when the Creator themself comes to live amongst their creations, who knows what will happen?

The ending of the year tends to bring cold weather and biting winds to most places, and with it comes warmer clothes and festive fashions. Heavy coats, elegant scarves, and cute mittens are put on display in shop windows, inviting passersby to partake in a bit of Holiday Shopping. And who would Your most loyal followers be if they didn't take You shopping? It would be a travesty! This totally isn't an excuse to spoil you or see you in the latest wintery fashions, parish the thought. They buy you anything that catches your eye.

Laughter and shrieks of joy are heard from outside as a Snowball Fight takes place. It's an all-out, no-bars-held brawl of packed snow and good aim. A nostalgic sight for You, to be sure. Everyone around You can see how You wish to go out and take part in the liveliness... and some of them see no reason to stop You! In fact, a few acolytes even pull you into the fray, whether it be by pulling You down beside them behind their haphazard snow fort or simply by nailing You with a snowball. They'll make sure You have fun, regardless of what others might say!

Once the chilly battle is won, there are plenty of other things to do while everyone has energy! Sledding is always fun, especially when You have someone pulling you down onto a toboggan and taking off before You can realize what's going on. So what if you end up half buried in a snowbank after crashing into it? That's part of the fun!

Speaking of getting buried in snow... Snow Angels are a classic way of winding down, isn't it? Especially when the little ones are pulling You by the hand, eager to get their turn to play with You! Laughter and shouts of "There's snow in my shirt!" never cease to amuse, especially when You get to stand up and see the product of Your fun in the form of people-shaped silhouettes in the glittering snow.

Ah, but while some are playing, others are hard at work, putting up decorations and making everything look beautiful! Tinsel, lights, everything that can make the houses and streets look straight out of a winter wonderland. Some are on the roof, some are on ladders, and some lucky folks can use unique abilities and equipment to avoid the usual struggles. And of course, there are also those on the ground giving orders and suggestions. You know, to avoid the hassle of climbing up and down over and over again to make sure everything looks right.

Finally, when it's time to go inside to warm up, there are several people who have been Cooking and Making Warm Drinks. Tea, hot chocolate, cookies and biscuits, all sorts of tasty treats and drinks! The smell of baked goods and tasty food permeates the air, and thankfully, everything was planned and timed perfectly so that everyone could enjoy something delicious when they came inside.

While playing in the snow is definitely a lot of fun, there are always those who prefer to spend their time indoors, wrapped in blankets and sweaters with a warm mug and a good book in hand. When everyone finally returns from outside, it's these people who enjoy telling the stories they read and helping everyone find a cozy spot to warm up in.

you could feel your brain sizzling in real time as you stared at the blank questionnaire laid upon your desk, to make matters even worse, al haitham seemed to be burning holes into your face, probably wondering how you could even be considered a scholar when you weren't even able to solve such questions without help.

you sighed, which he followed, already knowing what you'd say next.

“look, this is im—” you were cut off.

“impossible for you? quite possible, though from my point of view it just seems like you're far too distracted to even understand the meaning behind the question.” he pointed, bluntly.

you desired to slap him at least once, still, you knew he was right.

of course you were distracted, your biggest crush, who also doubled as a long term friends, was there sitting beside you, so close that you were even able to bask in his warmth, to the point you wondered if it was really necessary.

then he finally shifted at his seat, but instead of going back into his own space like you thought he'd do, he leaned even closer to you, fingers resting on your chin, lifting it until your eyes met.

“what? scared of something?” he laughed at your face, gaze going from your widened eyes to your lips.

his face came closer and closer, until finally your lips met, a quiet sigh escaping his lips as you melted into his touch.

you two separated and you chuckled as he kissed you on the cheek before getting up.

“consider a gift for trying so hard, i'll go for now, but i hope for results in our next study session.”

you nodded absent-minded, thinking about what your supposedly best friend did and what kind of hidden meaning it could have, failing to notice the deep blush reaching his ears as he turned to go back to his own work.

your best friends was... odd, in the best of the days, that is.

most of the people considered her batshit crazy, actually, and you couldn't help but agree most of the time, and now was unfortunately one of those times.

she had dragged you along into and expedition of sorts, to which the meaning you weren't even sure as all she told you was something along the lines of: there's a mystery hiding at those mountains.

it was already the second day in that hellish place and you almost felt like fainting every time an inhuman shadows appeared around you with the rustling of the trees.

“hu tao, should we really be here?” you whispered, to which she shushed you.

“don't worry, now be quiet.” her voice was barely louder than a whisper and you couldn't help but groan, wishing to go away quickly.

your walk continued for nothing more than a few minutes before you stopped on your tracks afted hearing a whisper of your name, looking back into the strange forest.

“hey, hu tao, did you perhaps set a prank on me? this is not funny.” but when you looked at the direction you friend was supposed to be you saw nothing but a dim path.

you almost felt like crying, yet you followed the path diligently hoping you'd find her somewhere along the way, but as you walked the place just seemed darker and darker, even the sounds of the leaves rustling sounding more and more like monsters and ghosts.

and then you felt something brushing against your arm and you shrieked in horror, tears blooming in your eyes instantly.

“[name]!?” you heard hu tao voice yelling from a distance and soon she was seen coming out from behind some trees.

you sobbed as she hurried to your side, her hands grasping into your arms and looking for any injury, eyes roaming over your shaking form.

“why did you leave me behind?” you muttered, leaning into her shoulder, feeling your knees getting weaker by the second.

“sorry [name], there was something trailing behind us so i went to take a look, i just didn't expect you'd fall behind so quickly.” she pouted, clearly feeling wronged.

but as she saw you said nothing in response and just clung even more to her, she hugged you back, not minding the tears staining her clothes, looking up to the darkening sky and then back at you.

“c'mon, my mission here is over, let's get back and i'll treat you to something good.” she patted you twice and you slowly let go of her and wiped your tear stained face.

before you could nod, however, she planted a soft kiss on the corner of your lips, pulling you by the hand shortly after, leaving you no time to process it as she hopped back dragging you along.

shikanoin heizou

the lights on room where dim as you seated across from heizou, the game board spread over the desk as he looked seriously into your eyes.

“now [name]... will you admit it? i have all the clues i needed to solve my case.” his voice was impassive.

a smirk stretched into you face as you rolled your eyes.

“oh, do you have it now?” you scoffed and his eyes thinned. “why don't you try it then?”

the glares contest went by barely a second before he said his verdict.

“entrance hall, chandelier and purple.” you shrugged as you saw him taking the little box with the real case.

a frown settled in his face as he looked over the three cards and a smile spread over your features.

“so..?” you ask, already fully aware of his response.

“i fell right into your trap.” he sighs before putting the cards back in the box. “your guess?”

“bathroom, chandelier, purple.” you spread your three cards over the desk, at the same time he does it, showing both of your clues, the "hall" card being in among your own.

taking the box in hand, you reveal the cards, showing that you were right once again.

“seems like i won again.” you tut at him as he sighs. “really, from a future detective I'd expect more of you.”

he slump over the chair, offering no real answer.

“so, what's your wish for this round?” he ask, already getting his phone and wallet.

you looked at the right corner of the desk, a single earring and a twenty dollar bill there already.

“aw, c'mon, it's no fun to just spend your money, besides, I'm no leech.” you pout and he let out a bitter laugh, putting his wallet back in place. “hm... how about a kiss?” you send him your sweetest smile, awaiting a reaction.

however, different from your expectation, he doesn't blush or avoid your eye contact, instead smiling back at you as he get up from his chair.

he easily bend over and holds you gently by the neck.

“may i?” heizou's voice is barely a whisper and you unconsciously nod in response.

his lips meets yours and you're able to feel him smiling into it, the touch only last a few moments, yet it leaves a sweet after taste that you're unable to forget even as he leaves you to raid your kitchen for a much needed after gaming snacks.

“now that's what i call a rewarding punishment.” you're barely able to hear him whisper as he pass by you, smirk still on his features.

yae miko

you brushed yae's tail with utmost care as she rested in your lap, her eyes scanning the book right in front of her at leisure.

as you put her first tail down to start brushing the second, she flapped it right on your face, the flurry tip wiggling right under your nose.

“ah! hey!” you grabbed her tails, looking into her eyes, seeing the michievous smile she wore. “i'll stop brushing it if you don't stop.”

her smirk instantly turned into a pout and then she sighed, finally laying down again so you could continue.

“you're no fun.” she muttered loud enough for you to hear, but you paid no attention.

“but you still invite me to brush you everytime, don't you?” you shrugged and she finally got her attention back to her book.

time continued to stretch lazily, until you finally were done and put her tails down, giving a little pat on the head, a thing you knew she hated, her ears twitched at the touch and she sent you a glare, before getting up.

“took you long enough.” she fakes a disappointed expression, to which you scowl.

“would've finished sooner if you didn't bother me so much.” she laugh at your irritation, clearly not affected.

you stretch to pick the book she left by the floor, reading some sentences in passing.

“you're trying your hand at romance now?” you pass by a few pages, some sentences catching your attention.

“the mystery one wasn't selling as well this month.” she responds, uninterested as she goes to her bookshelf, looking for some reference.

before you know it, you're too caught up by the plot, not even minding as the pink haired woman tries to catch your attention back, looking at her for a split second, before going back to the thickening tension between the two protagonist.

she huff by your side, arms draping over your shoulders as she skimps over the part that caught your attention so much, giving off a malicious laugh by your neck.

“they'll kiss in the next page.” she blurt and you look at her with exasperation. “in the next chapter she'll discover he was cheating.” you turn, quickly trying to cover her mouth.

“hey, stop it!” you were almost over yae as you tried to stop her from giving you anymore spoiler.

then, suddenly, she grabs both of your wrists in one hand, her back hitting the floor as she hugged you by the waist with a single arm, he voice filled with a joyful warmth rare of her usual self.

“i'll stop, but only if you give me some attention.” you felt a blush creeping up your ears as she gave a curt peck at the inside of your wrist. “just for a moment, alright?”

her voice was lazy, dawned out as if she was in a gleeful state, and you couldn't help but go along with her wishes, releasing your weight as you fully fell down onto her.

Kujou Sara

Sara knew how trouble looked, she had to deal with it on an almost daily basis with that oni running after her, demanding a rematch even though the winner was already clear, but whenever she looked at you, she saw a person that wouldn’t be able to harm a fly. And while she would never dare to say it out loud, looking at you always put her mind at ease, the same way others might have relaxed when seeing a cute dog doing nothing but existing.

So when she heard about how the road you frequently took was being blocked by a couple of thugs, her first instinct was to assemble a group as quickly as possible and try to clear it out before something were to happen to you, only to arrive just in time to watch you beating them into submission and seemingly enjoying every last second of it.

“...y/n?”, Sara couldn’t help but utter your name, completely dumbfounded by what she had just witnessed, only for you to dust off your clothes and turn to her with the same innocent smile you always wore.

“Oh, hey Sara! What are you doing here?”, you asked after noticing the other soldiers who looked just as surprised as their general, all of them having known you for a long enough time to have felt certain of your nature.

“Oh my- Sorry that you have to see me in this state, my clothes are completely dirty… I don’t know if I’ll be able to get the stains out of this- they just had to offer a fight on the one day I decided to dress in my favorite clothes…”, you apologized after following her stare back to your bloodied clothes, letting out a frustrated sigh as you inspected your shirt.

“That’s not- How- D-doesn’t matter. I’m just glad you’re unharmed”, the general’s voice betrayed her shock, only for her to quickly regain her composure.

Seeing you escape unharmed was a huge relief, even if she would be lying if she said what she saw wasn’t at least somewhat worrying… 

…what worried her more however, was that her heart skipped a beat or two while watching you show such strength.

Yelan

Yelan, being Yelan, didn’t need long to find out about your… change in behaviour when embroiled in a fight. After all, she couldn’t call herself an expert at reading people if she couldn’t even figure out someone this close to her.

Luckily for you, she quickly figured out that you going rogue only ever happened when you were attacked and never when you started a fight, causing her to confidently put you into the “no harm for innocent” box.

It also had the added upside of basically having a guard dog with her on every mission who didn’t hesitate for even a second to throw themself at any criminal stupid enough to try and harm her, and sure, while she would have been easily able to handle them herself, Yelan was the last person that would complain about not having to do something tiring.

“That’s enough”, Yelan finally put an end to your ‘advanced method of self-defense’, causing you to immediately get up, leaving the treasure hoarder to solemnly reflect on his decision to threaten you. That was if he was still conscious. “I need him to answer my questions later”, she explained further after seeing you send her a questioning look, her, as usual, mysterious voice refusing to betray any emotions.

As she bent down to inspect the person lying on the floor, you finally managed to calm yourself down, feeling the usual mix of shock and disappointment as you looked down at your knuckles, sighing as you looked for a bit of water to wash them, before making your way back, scooping the criminal up and taking his weapon, which by now laid several feet away from him, in case it could be used as evidence or something of those sorts.

“I know he began it by threatening us, but I can easily handle a dozen of them on my own, so at least try to refrain yourself from going overboard next time. The last thing we need is for word about a mysterious figure beating up people in the middle of night”, she told you off, only for you to nod as you continued to look down, causing Yelan to put on a soft smile.

Ningguang, Tinquan of Liyue, owner of a Geo Vision and a woman with a will thirty times stronger than any iron, a tongue as sharp as any blade, and an eye for business and numbers only surpassed by that of Rex Lapis.

She was currently pacing a hole through the floor of the Jade Chamber outside a locked room while her closest friends and confidants stiffly watched her, unsure of what to do in this current situation.

Could she really call Kequing, Ganyu, Yelan, Baixiao, Baiwen, and Baishi her closest friends and confidants when they were all under her employ? That’s a question for another time, a less uncertain time.

After all, you never wrote up what to do in the case of your being so severely injured to the point that you were unable to stand by Ningguang’s side.

The first time Ningguang and you met, she was a little less than twelve years old, and she was about to get her face punched in by another group of kids who were also trying to sell their food at the market to make a little mora.

As the largest of them, and the one Ningguang assumed to be their leader pulled back her fist to throw the first punch Ningguang braced herself to be sent flying but before the largest one threw the punch a voice called out “HEY BEIDOU!!! THINK FAST!!!” as a fist slammed into the side of the largest one’s face sending her flying instead.

“YOU!!!” The largest one, apparently named Beidou shouted in a mix of furious rage and ecstatic joy as she spat out a tooth.

“ME!!!” you responded with a toothy grin as your own group of kids quickly showed up behind you.

“It seems those two are going back at it again huh?” one of the older men running a stall asked while shaking his head with a smile.

“What’s the score again, something like 30 wins to each of them and 24 draws?” another man asked.

“Yup, the score is even right now, doubt it’ll stay that way though!” another laughed.

“What do you say to the usual stakes Beidou? The loser has to buy the other dinner.” You asked as you cracked your neck.

“Heh, why not!” Beidou laughed as she shook off the punch and cracked her knuckles.

However what made this all the more interesting to Ningguang aside from what seemed to be the pre-teen equivalant of a friendly gang war was that You, Beidou, and her all had something in common, the fact that each of you had the potential to obtain one of the worlds most treasured artifacts, a Vision, Ningguang didn’t know what made her think this, call it women's intuition, a business hunch, or whatever else you wanted to, but she knew that you, Beidou, and her were special, and if she get your groups to work together, well the mora practically minted itself.

Now if only she could get You and Beidou to stop beating the Celestia out of each other every time you were in the same room.

But for that Ningguang would need a little group of her own.

Luckily she had some strings she could pull to get one on short notice.

One week later Beidou and her group were staring down you and yours as Ningguang stood between you with the group she had managed to pull together on short notice Kequing who she had blackmail on where the majority of her allowance was going (So many Rex Lapis plushies), Yelan, who owed her for getting her out of more than a few tight spots, Baixiao, Baiwen, and Baishi, who were the cousins of your right hand man, Qiqi in case things got violent and little Hu Tao who always followed Qiqi around.

“Now then, I have a business proposition for each of you.” Ningguang said with ease that was most definitely not practiced in the mirror.

“Who the hell are you!” Beidou shouted, causing you to sigh.

“She’s that girl you were harassing last week, y’know the one that you called p-” you said before Beidou interrupted you.

“I KNOW WHO SHE IS I WAS JUST TRYING TO BE UH WHAT’S THE WORD, IT BEGINS WITH AN “I” Beidou shouted as she tried to find the word she was looking for.

“Intimidating?” Ningguang offered.

“YEAH INTIMIDATING!!! THAT’S IT!!! THANKS UH NINGUANG WAS IT? IMMA JUST CALL YOU NING!!!” Beidou shouted.

“Hey, Beidou, think you can turn off the caps lock? You’re giving me a headache!” You exclaimed as you tapped your foot on the ground.

“I’LL GIVE YA A HEADACHE WITH MY FIST JACKASS!!!!” Beidou shouted.

Ningguang let out a long suffering sigh, this was going to be much harder than she thought it would be wouldn’t it.

“So, let me get this straight, you want me and my group, your group and Beidou’s group to work together, correct?” you asked Ningguang as you took a bite out of the powdered sugar rolls provided by Little Hu Tao.

“Yes, with my brains, Beidou’s manpower, and your brawn and skill, we’d be able to achieve our respective goals around 70 to 100 times faster if my rough estimates were correct.” Nigguang stated as she held Qiqi in her lap. 

“Hmm I’ll admit it’s as good a deal as me and them will probably ever get, but what’s the catch? This is one of those deals that sound too good to be true y’know.” Beidou asked while taking a piece of cooked fish from one of the bowls with her chopsticks.

“You two have to play nice in public, that means no more fighting in the market.” Ningguang told the two.

“But anywhere else is fine?” you asked.

“Within reason of course, as long as it’s outside the purview of the public eye you could beat each other to bloody pulps for all I care.” Ningguang said with a shrug.

From there the three of you skyrocketed in the market of Liyue, Ningguang’s brains allowed the operations the three of you used to run individually to explode in size and quality. 

Beidou’s manpower and charisma made sure that there were plenty of people that could work on the operations day and night if needed.

And finally your muscle made sure that anyone who tried to cross the triad the three of you made didn’t do so without consequence.

By the time each of you were eighteen the amount of mora between each of you individually would’ve been enough to fund a voyage around the world thrice over.

Eventually Ningguang told the three of you that she was preparing to enter into the next stage of her goal, the politics of Liyue.

It was on this night that Ninguang received her Vision.

Coincidentally it was also on this night that Beidou managed to smuggle some Sake from Inazuma and talked (Read: Forced) Ningguang into trying it.

This led to quite the night filled with you chewing out Beidou and chasing a drunk Nigguang all over Liyue at night.

Speaking of Furina, I'm hoping for a kit involving dynamic Max HP buffs. (No spoilers or leaks plz.)

Reasoning as follows:

Considering prior Archons and their "universal support" archetypes, some amount of off-field Hydro application is practically a given. (Probably achieved with her Skill, like Raiden and Nahida, to make Golden Troupe her BiS.)

But also, part of what makes most Archons "worthwhile pulls" is that they change how you play,¹ enabling entirely new team compositions. Furina can't just be a better Yelan+Xingqiu; the niche is already well serviced.

Before 3.0, Hydro resonance increased incoming Healing.² As of 3.0, Hydro resonance increased Max HP instead.

By this point we'd gotten Ayato and Yelan, both establishing a max-HP-scaling theme. Candace and Nilou have continued the trend.

So with that in mind, I think there's a chance (and hope!) that the novel part of Furina's kit centres around raising team Max HP.

Hypothetically:

When Furina uses her burst, she deals AoE Hydro damage and grants all nearby party members the Joie de Vivre state, then restores a certain amount of HP to each character.

Joie de Vivre:

- Max HP is increased.

- Incoming Healing is increased.

- Increased Interruption Resistance, with additional increases when the active character's HP is above their original HP.

- Whenever a character's HP increases or decreases, Joie de Vivre procs deals AoE Hydro damage that counts as Elemental Skill damage. (Once per 0.8s.)

- When the state ends, excess HP is rounded down.

Extremely notional numbers:

HP increase: 30% Furina's Max HP; HP restored: 10% Furina's Max HP + 10% character's Max HP; Incoming Healing Increase: 25%.

This does not replace a healer. The Max HP increase would be comparable to Barbara's burst and Zhongli's skill, but Furina only fills about half that gap. A healer, or characters with occasional self-healing, would be needed to take full advantage.

Increased Max HP directly synergizes with Furina's entire element save Mona and Childe.

Increased Max HP is ofc generally useful for survivability — if you have healing to fill up the raised cap with. Many healers are HP scalers so this is synergistic too.

Hydro!Traveller, Lyney, and Lynette demonstrate that HP-as-a-resource is going to be a major theme for the next half year at least. Spiral Abyss is set to continue that trend through September.

If you're running a Marechausse Hunter type of character (or Xiao, Shinobu, Hu Tao, etc.) then more HP means incoming damage stings less.

This is not a Corrosion counter; Corrosion scales with Max HP (though the rules could plausibly be tweaked to have it scale on base max HP).

Increased Interruption Resistance, reaching Shield-like levels if a character is over their original cap: viable alternative to shields if paired with a good healer.

¹ With every new character, there's always a question of "will their attacks reach inside Venti's ult?". For Nahida, off-field AoE Dendro application is the niche. Zhongli is the biggest exception here, having both cemented Shields as Geo's thing and then Geo never bothering with shields again. Still, the point of comparison for any other shielder is "do I like the extra elemental application / shield meter / chip damage enough to sacrifice RES shred?" It's not so much that he creates a new archetype, but that he took over an important existing one.

² Hydro has never been The Healing Element as much as the Resonance implied. As of v1.0, we had Barbara (and technically Xingqiu but that's not where his utility is). As of v2.1, Kokomi. That's... it?

Anywho, here's the Xiao brainrot I've been brainrotting about (nsfw btw 😭😭)

Like, imagine Xiao trying to top the reader for the first time. He tries so hard to make the reader feel the way he does whenever they, yk, have seggs, but he himself just gets lost trying to fuck reader and his mind dissolves in his own pleasure from just being in reader. So, he ends up being louder than the reader, and he comes a little too earlier than the reader. I like to imagine Xiao wrapping himself around the reader's waist, trying to regain composure after coming while he's sitting still, basically cock warming himself in the reader while the reader just lays there, obviously far from satisfaction. So, Xiao suddenly feels tingles of overstimulation as the reader carefully gets on top of Xiao and starts riding him, having him moan even louder while slightly, very slightly degrading him because he couldn't manage to keep himself together while trying to fuck them. And then they keep going at him, Xiao (probably) coming multiple times until the reader finally comes with him.
