You know, the way the lambent crystal is talked about as, like, giving Anakin a way to bridge the gap between his Force sense and the Force-nonexistent Yuuzhan Vong because its telepathic properties can connect to both sides of it kinda makes me wonder if it might be possible to have a similar kind of interface with regular mechanical systems. Like, if you have some way to convert electronic signals into data that a Force-user, at least, can sense in their mind, and convert back from that, could a computer system be interacted with in the same capacity as a living brain of comparable complexity?
Absolutely keeping this in my back pocket for some post-NJO Tahiri-related headcanons.

We know that the new cast members in S4 were basically auditioning for their jobs as much as their characters were, and i can't help but notice how exceptionally cunty Taub is in these early episodes

he werked his little ass off for that job!
#before they forced PJ to repress his natural swag#actually you know what... I have a better theory for this. These eps happened before anybody knew about his affairs#as this general shittiness of his marriage and life become more known (thanks House!) his body language becomes more uptight#he even antagonistically flirts with Amber! it's all fun and games.. until everyone knows just how bad he fucked up#hm I must ponder this now#chris taub#house md#peter jacobson

Obviously “America is Great Again” is a fantastic critique of capitalism and American propaganda, which would be enough to make it an incredible scene on its own. It’s a great song and a great demonstration of the show’s themes, and it’s really well done.
But there’s a tragic layer to that song that really elevates it for me, and that’s because it’s specifically MacNamara singing it.
MacNamara first is introduced to seem like a stereotypical patriotic army guy in the scene where he knocks Paul out. However, he then subverts that in the next scene where we learn his true morals, namely that he believes in love and humanity as his higher purpose and he will put that above the orders of his country if they conflict. He chooses to let Paul live because of that, and when Paul asks if he can save Emma, MacNamara gives him his gun and tells him to go. We learn, as does Paul, that despite his appearance and general vibes, he is a genuinely good person who wants to help and is willing to put his moral code above his patriotism.
But when he gets apotheosized, he becomes the complete opposite. Suddenly his loyalty is to his country only, and his own moral code is erased in service of that, which causes contradictions between the lyrics of AIGA and his thoughts in the scene with Paul. “You can’t run because our borders are closed” when he was helping Paul escape in a helicopter as a human; “Americans should fit a mold” when he didn’t at all fit the “douchey army patriot” mold he was presented with; “There’s only room for right and wrong” when he clearly is able to choose between his own morality and his orders, indicating a more complex outlook instead of a binary. He becomes the stereotype he was subverting, and in doing so he becomes someone that the real MacNamara would have hated. That’s the tragedy of that song, and of the whole show really, is that the people who become part of the hive mind lose their true selves and are only able to act in their stereotypical roles, even if that’s nothing like how they actually were as humans.
There’s also something to be said here about how the us war machine and capitalism corrupts people and makes them into something they would never have been otherwise through a forced loss of personhood but I can’t figure out how to phrase that so
#also I def believe pokey did that to macnamara specifically on purpose#bc the lords know about him from Wilbur and bc he’s probably successfully stopped them in a few timelines at least#so it was specifically pokey’s revenge on him because of personal hatred#and ESPECIALLY because we KNOW macnamara would never ever become a villain willingly#so pokey had to make him one by force#starkid#the guy who didn't like musicals#john macnamara#this is also why I don’t believe the theory that macnamara was already infected btw#his morals are just so different post-infection that I cannot believe it#ALSO also the fact that the music from aiga is macnamara’s heroic leitmotif in Black Friday#something something an expression of your love and desire to help becoming corrupted#something also about how that connects to Wilbur’s corruption… loss of morals loss of self loss of someone you loved to outside forces#anyway.#can you tell I’m super normal about mac

Anyone knows what this asshole is trying to do? He’s straight up trying to destroy the US from the inside out and trying to get access into the US treasury’s payment system. Pressuring the previous FAA director to resign after the FAA found that spacex was not prioritising safety enough, then now with all the guardrails removed or fired suddenly a Blackhawk slams into a plane and kills everyone on board? And now he’s saying he wants to work with Boeing to produce the new air force one, what can go wrong? Two companies famous for their products malfunctioning in fatal ways. And he’s getting his smelly hands into every government trying to influence them or their alt right population like the AFD. Anyone someone should look into him but they won’t, he’ll personally make sure of that.

Honestly I think Shawn, a grown man, can stand up for himself lol
“He’s a grown man, he can stand up for himself.”
Right—but that response isn’t as neutral as you think. It’s a deflection. A way of shifting responsibility for boundary enforcement back onto the individual who’s been placed in an uncomfortable position, rather than asking why he was put there in the first place.
Because this isn’t about whether Shawn Hatosy—or Pedro Pascal, or any other man—can assert a boundary. It’s about how we’ve created a culture that expects them not to. It’s about how consent is routinely ignored, overwritten, or turned into a joke in public space—especially when it comes to men, especially when it’s dressed up as irony, “feminist thirst,” or progressive kink-positivity.
It’s about the refusal to admit that consent isn’t just about sex.
Consent is about presence. It’s about participation. It’s about emotional safety. And it’s about power.
And that matters in every context—including fandom, celebrity culture, and the increasingly blurred space between admiration and projection.
When you call a male celebrity “daddy” in the middle of an interview—on camera, unprompted, fully aware it’ll go viral—you’re not giving a harmless compliment. You’re placing him inside a sexualized, hierarchical, kink-coded role, and demanding a performance. You’re not inviting him into a shared dynamic. You’re building one around him and daring him to resist.
And that’s not just parasocial behavior. That’s coercion. Coercion dressed up in a clickbait blazer and a winking “teehee.”
And patriarchy? Patriarchy loves that. Because patriarchy has always taught us that men, especially older, stoic, men, aren’t allowed to have boundaries. That they should be flattered by sexual attention. That their discomfort is a flaw in the man, not a failure of the situation. That a man’s silence means yes.
So when a male celebrity tenses up or shifts uncomfortably after being called “daddy,” we don’t pause. We dismiss him. We say:
“Come on, it’s just a joke.”
“He’s hot. He can take it.”
“It’s part of the job.”
That’s not the language of consent. That’s the language of normalized entitlement.
Now compare that to when I commented on Shawn Hatosy’s TikTok and said he was “so babygirl-coded.” And he liked it.
Why? Because “babygirl,” as it functions in contemporary online fan culture, isn’t built on dominance or performance. It doesn’t demand control. It doesn’t assign erotic authority. It’s a term that signals affection, vulnerability, softness—a playful, sometimes absurd, often tender reverence for men who deviate from traditional masculinity.
That kind of language lives within fandom culture—inside our sandboxes. And when I call someone “babygirl-coded,” that person can ignore it, engage with it, scroll past, or opt in. There’s no pressure. It’s an aesthetic label, not a demand. So when Shawn likes that comment, he’s participating on his own terms. That’s what parasocial consent looks like: voluntary, pressure-free, and rooted in choice.
Now imagine if I had written, “You’re such a daddy. Ruin me.” Totally different tone. Totally different power dynamic. Even if he never saw it, I’d still be inserting a kink-coded script into a public space as if he had agreed to it. And if he had seen it and felt uncomfortable? The onus would fall on him to disengage quietly or laugh it off, because culturally, we’ve given men almost no tools to say “no” without backlash.
Feminist methodology asks better questions:
Whose comfort is protected?
Whose silence is treated as consent?
Whose body is seen as public property?
Whose boundaries get overwritten for the sake of the bit?
We know the answers. They’re gendered. And they’re broken.
When a man is called “daddy” during a press tour, he’s not being asked to play. He’s being expected to perform, sexually, powerfully, on command. And if he doesn’t? The consequences aren’t just social, they’re structural. He’s seen as less fun. Less marketable. Less valuable as content.
That isn’t just unfair. It’s anti-consensual.
As Sara Ahmed writes, to be the one who names a problem is so often to become the problem. The one who says “this feels off,” “this crosses a line,” or simply, “this makes me uncomfortable” is marked as difficult, humorless, or ungrateful. We see this dynamic unfold constantly with male celebrities—especially those who don’t laugh when called “daddy” in person, or who subtly resist being pulled into a sexualized performance they didn’t agree to.
When a man sets a boundary, even quietly, he disrupts the fantasy. And instead of asking what created the discomfort, the culture asks why he couldn't just go along. Because admitting that men can say no, that they’re allowed to feel uneasy, that they don’t exist for our projection, requires challenging the very entitlement fandom often runs on.
So let’s be clear: You can thirst. You can spiral. You can bark, cry, and post your little essays about his shoulders in peace. You can call him whatever in your sandbox corner of the internet.
But forcing someone into your kink-coded fantasy in person, without their consent, and then reacting negatively when they don’t play along, isn’t empowering. It’s not subversive. It’s just public boundary crossing, dressed up as flirtation.
It’s not “owning the gaze.” It’s replicating it—just with the roles reversed.
And reversing the roles isn’t the same as dismantling them.
Roles—no matter how ironic or reversed—are still roles. And assigning someone a role without their participation isn’t liberation. It’s just performance under pressure.
So yes, he’s a grown man.
And that’s exactly why his boundaries matter—especially because he’s not just a celebrity, but a real person, and a parent. Being called “daddy” in person, during a professional setting, isn’t just awkward—it’s an unsolicited invitation into a kink-coded dynamic he didn’t agree to. And when that man is a father in real life, the term becomes even more jarring, blurring roles in a way that’s neither funny nor flattering. His visibility shouldn’t come with the expectation that he absorb sexual projection or emotional labor just to keep the mood light. Silence is not consent. And feminist ethics, if we’re actually practicing them, demand more than clever thirst and role reversal. They require awareness, accountability, and respect for boundaries, no matter who you’re talking to or how attractive you think they are.
And if your only defense is “He can take it,” you’ve already admitted he might not want it, and decided you didn’t care.
That’s not fandom. That’s entitlement. Wrapped in a punchline and passed off as progressive. (referencing this interview)

AU where a few years after Obi-Wan gives Luke to the Lars', Quinlan finds him and says "join the hidden path Obi, please see" and Obi-Wan tells him "bro I can't leave, Luke is here, but I'll still help however I can" so Quinlan leaves and comes back a few weeks later with a force sensitive baby. And Obi-Wan just stands there holding the baby thinking 'what the fuck do I do with this thing????' and he does what any rational person would do and gives it to the Lars' cuz that way Luke can have some siblings. This happens a few more times.
And that's the story of how Luke thinks babies come from Obi-Wan
I'm calling this the Storki-Wan au
#im imagining that Obi-Wan ends up starting a kindergarden cuz so many force sensitive kids in one place????#the neighbours are so confused as to why the Lars' have so many kids now and when Luke tells them that the babies come from Old Ben#well there ends up being a LOT of conspiracy theories#bonus points if cody finds obi wan and decides “nuh-uh some of these babies are ours now >:(”#and obiwan goes along with his because cody!!!!! cody is back!!!!!!!! cody!!!!#star wars#au#alternate universe#obi wan kenobi#quinlan vos

I have a strong feeling that Sonic's trauma response is to forcefully forget what happened. In Sonic Forces he acts like everything's perfectly fine, even calling the torture a "yawnfest". What if he just thinks it was like that because he can't remember what exactly happened, this assuming it was so boring that he can't remember? Another thing to note is that right after the metal virus, easily Sonic's most traumatizing adventure yet, Sonic gets amnesia.
However, the biggest piece of evidence (and I can't believe I'm saying this) is in the Sonic Boom comics. When Sonic is stuck in that tiny cage he goes full-on panic attack, and once free, he goes haywire. But the real part I'm interested in is when Tails asks Sonic if he was ok, and Sonic says, quote, "All I remember was thinking things were getting slow... And then nothin'..." He honestly doesn't remember the panic attack he just had!!

One plot idea I've come up with and never had much occasion to use is inspired by the various indications in Legends of a genetic component to Force-sensitivity, and it's some scientist trying to figure out what makes someone Force-sensitive by using cloning to isolate variables.
Like, you have a known Force-user as a template and control group, and then change one thing in each clone and see if that has any impact on their Force-sensitivity.
The project would fail catastrophically. I don't think I'm alone in thinking that the Force shouldn't actually work that way.

The autoandrophile and force masc community here on tumblr, while relentlessly filthy, has also been so incredibly affirming.
I know autogynephilia and autoadrophilia have been weaponized against us, but like, I don’t understand why feeling sexy/being sexually aroused by your body is a problem.
For most of my life I tolerated or shunned away from the way I looked. Only liked my body for how it turned other people on, for how it was considered attractive by others, but it never added to my sexual pleasure, and often had to be mentally worked around by framing it through the pleasure others took from me.
Now?
Now I’m very turned on by just existing in my body and it’s incredibly affirming. I saw myself in the mirror getting dressed at my partner’s apartment the other day, and in the mirror I saw a man. The lights were low so you couldn’t even see my scars, just my shape, and it was the greatest combination of joy and disbelief and, yes, lust. Not necessarily lust for my own self, but lust for existing in my body. Lust spurred by being able to show up and interact with people and lovers as the self I was always meant to be.
A lust that is essentially the opposite of the self aversion and self objectification that I thought was so normal for so much of my life.
I understand that queer folks have always been painted as more sexualized and deviant and dirty than straight folks for even something as harmless as a kiss, but I hate the fact that something so incredibly affirming for me and many others is used to further marginalize and medicalize us.

someone replied to a funny-haha comment I made on ep 120 and it's got me thinking cause this person so smart anddd you should all go like their reply
hereeee are the screenshots;

first off, if you dont know what they're talking abt when they say monty is likely an sa survivor (yes ik hes dead but that was because of a TRAIN so hes still a survivor), im pretty sure they're referring to the flashbacks in ep 87. that ep always made me uncomfortable, but I haven't seen many ppl mention the implications behind it

like putting your hands on him while he screams at you to knock it off is already setting off red flags, but the fact you can see marks on places like his thigh and hip? that reaaallyy rubs me the wrong way
alrr now back to ep 120
when will kissed him, his reaction was definetelyy more than just "whut is this sissy white boy doin he is about'tuh DIE".
every time we see montresor in an intimate "relationship," hookup is proly a better word, it was always him that initiated it. he likes to keep control over that aspect of his life because its something he couldnt always control. will kissing him was the first exception to that rule.
so for monty to lose his last bit of control, especially in a situation like that, mustve been horrifying for him. imagine having to relive some of ur trauma while also actively developing a new trauma. not fun!
also add in the internalized homophobia he definitely has from his time period and the church? HORRRIBLEE combination of things 😭
i rly hope they have a sit down in the future and just vent to each other because god they need it
#tw; sa#PLEASEE do not force yourself to read if that makes you uncomfortable!#hope this all made sense i typed it out as fast as i could 😭#didnt wanna lose my train of thought#monty needs a hug istg#i know hes a little bitch but guys drop ur complicated lore with eachother and comfort him#bro cant catch a break#nevermore theory#montresor nevermore#willtresor#nevermore webtoon
