Steeping Garlic in Honey as Alternative Treatment
Tumblr media
A traditional medicine called garlic honey contains the medicinal properties of both garlic and honey. When garlic is soaked in honey, the honey functions as a solvent to draw out the healthy parts of the garlic and enhance its therapeutic qualities. Because of this natural elixir's antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory properties, traditional medicine has been using it for generations.
You will need raw honey and fresh garlic cloves to produce garlic honey at home. Before putting the garlic cloves in a sterile jar, peel, cut, or smash them. Add enough unrefined honey to completely cover the garlic. Steep the mixture in a cold, dark area for a minimum of one week. Strain the garlic honey to get rid of any solid bits once it has steeped, then store it in an airtight jar.
Garlic honey must be stored properly to keep its potency and freshness. Make use of hygienic, airtight receptacles composed of non-reactive materials, such as food-grade plastic or glass. Avoid exposing the garlic honey to intense heat or direct sunshine. Its shelf life can be extended by refrigeration, even though it can be kept at room temperature.

Since everyone seems to be getting sick I got some erm potions for ya;
Sore throat?
Brew a throat coat tea, add in honey, fresh garlic and ginger. Honey is anti bacterial, garlic and ginger have many health benefits that act as anti inflammatories.
Mucus?
Take the skin and core of a fresh pineapple and steep it in boiling water for an hour, fish out the solids and drink the water that’s left. Pineapple has enzymes that attack the mucus and push it out of the body. Plus pineapple over all is good for you.
Nausea?
Smell a rubbing alcohol pad or rubbing alcohol in general(learned this when I was taking Ems courses). Drink a flat coke or ginger ale. The coke syrup in coke helps settle the stomach and the ginger in gingerale is anti inflammatory.
Headache?
Feet in hot water, something frozen on the back of your neck and head between your knees. The heat is gonna warm your extremities and the cold is gonna help pull the excess blood from your head causing the headache. Almonds work as a natural aspirin, eating about ten to twenty whole almonds has been proven to help with headaches along with black coffee.
Over all just icky?
Boil pastina, add it to warm veggie or chicken broth for a go to feel better classic my Italian mama swears by. Add in parmigiana and LOTS of black pepper.
Chug some orange juice and water.
If all else fails, go to a doctor and wear a mask.

today went alright! i accomplished my tasks, but i still feel as though i could have done more. i'll make up for it tomorrow, and today would simply be a rest day :)
- i started having a spoonful of garlic and honey in the morning! my mum is quite into natural remedies and such, she persuaded me to start doing this regularly lol
- had a wonderful breakfast! asides from the eggs and toast, i ate some watermelon and had my matcha latte. very filling very delicious
- today's workout was a yoga flow which was surprisingly both gentle and strengthening, i ended up sweating a bit but still finished the workout feeling calm
- did some revising on react and tweaked my website a bit! didn't end up starting a new project today lol but i'm definitely going to tomorrow, i got a bit stuck with a specific component and that took up my time
- i did a facial massage in the evening after dinner and it felt incredible! i've always wanted to do facial massages because of all the benefits but i couldn't find one i could stick to because of not wanting to constantly use oil on my face or do one that was too long, but i came across one today which seemed to be perfect!
- i've been cleaning my room (sweeping the floor) everyday instead of every other day and tbh the people were right when they said to keep your space clean. i mean, my room wasn't dirty lol but sweeping the floors everyday just helps with the overall cleanliness
i hope you all are doing well!! thank you for reading this far, lots of love ♡

Fire Cider Recipe 1:
Fire Cider Ingredients
2 cups apple cider vinegar
1/2 to 1 cup honey
1/2 cup horseradish
8 cloves of garlic, chopped
1/2 onion
1/2 cup ginger
1 sliced jalapeño
1/2 cup fresh turmeric OR 1 tbsp dried turmeric (optional)
1/2 lemon (optional)
1/2 orange (optional)
1 tsp peppercorns (optional)
2 whole cinnamon sticks (optional)
2 rosemary sprigs (optional)
4 thyme sprigs (optional)
Directions
Prepare ingredients and place them in a sterilized quart-sized glass jar.
Pour the apple cider vinegar and honey in the jar until all of the ingredients are covered and the vinegar reaches 1/2 inch from the jar’s top. You can use a glass fermentation weight on top to keep the ingredients submerged, but that is just a preference. Shake well. Store in a dark, cool place for a month, shaking daily. It’s in vinegar, so it won’t go bad! Once done, strain, bottle, and label.
Storage: It’s vinegar, so it keeps all winter and early spring (6 months) if left in a cool dark place. Keeps in the refrigerator for up to 10 months. You can take a dropperful every few hours, or I put 2 -3 droppers full into a big mug of hot water and drink that.
Benefits of ingredients
Ginger root – Ginger contains gingerol, an antibacterial compound that promotes body warmth, helping to fight off cold symptoms.
Horseradish root – Horseradish strongly stimulates the digestion, increasing gastric secretions and appetite. It can be of use in both respiratory and urinary tract infections. Horseradish is a natural expectorant with natural antibacterial properties. It helps in easing throat and upper respiratory tract infections. Has been used to fight cancer naturally.
Jalapeño peppers – Useful for increasing circulation and to get mucus flowing. Anti-inflammatory, pain reliever, and anti-irritant. It is used as a digestive aid to stimulates gastric juices.
Garlic – Boosts the immune function and opens pores of the skin to lower a fever. This herb’s antibacterial and antimicrobial properties make it useful in treating bladder and kidney infections, yeast infections, strep throats and ear infections.
Onion – Another cancer fighter, onion’s compound quercetin is a natural disease fighter.
Lemon – The levels of vitamin C found in the juice and peel are extremely effective against bacterial infections! Lemons act as a great potentiator in this cider recipe.
Rosemary Sprigs – This piney plant alleviates muscle pain, boosts the immune system, and relieves cough while you’re sick.
Turmeric – Turmeric increases the antioxidant capacity in your body. This means that all of the new antioxidants in this cider will have a home to live and work in!
Black peppercorns – Greatly boosts absorption of turmeric.
Apple Cider Vinegar – (Use organic) ACV kills multiple types of bacteria. When used in conjunction with the other herbs of this recipe, it becomes a powerhouse of health.
Local Raw Honey – Before becoming sick, local, raw honey helps your body fight off local infections and allergens. After becoming ill, it suppresses coughs and continues fighting off bacteria

Honey Fermented Garlic
It’s been a running joke in my friend group that I’m probably a vampire (due to long standing dark color patterns in my wardrobe and pale skin) but my love of garlic is one of my biggest defender points to my humanity.
Honey fermented garlic is one of those beloved folk recipes that are especially amazing to have during cold and flu season. It’s quite a simple recipe that combines two very common kitchen items into a lovely blend of flavors and benefits.
Tumblr media
Why Make Honey Fermented Garlic?
Honey is already well known as a natural home remedy for sore throats and pesky allergies.
Garlic has a long list of medicinal benefits. Ingesting garlic regularly is able to reduce your chances of getting sick, and beyond that it naturally reduces blood pressure and lowers cholesterol.
By mixing honey and garlic together in this lovely little concoction, you not only make it more digestible through fermentation but you’re also combining two potent natural medicinals into one!
Is It Safe?
Lactobacillus, yeast, and acetic acid bacteria are completely safe!
With lacto-fermentation, it’s nearly impossible to make something that will cause bodily harm upon ingestion, due to the bacteria quickly being able to outcompete pretty much everything else and acidify the mixture to prevent spoilage.
Do not use this remedy, or any remedy containing honey with children under 2 years old. A child at this age contains stomach acid that isn’t fully developed yet, and their stomach acts as a low acid environment.
Instructions:
Peel the garlic, trimming it to remove any discolored parts
Press the garlic clove with the side of a knife to gently bruise it
Optional: Once the garlic is in the jar, add about 2 tablespoons of raw apple cider vinegar to the jar at this point Give the jar a quick shake to coat the garlic cloves with cider vinegar.
Ensures that the surface of the garlic starts acidic, which is a precaution against botulism (not very likely, but if you want to be extra careful here’s a step!)
Fill the jar about 1/2 to 2/3 of the way with garlic, then top it off with honey to within an inch of the lid.
Be sure to leave space at the top, as the mixture will bubble as it ferments and you don’t want it to overflow
Cover the jar with a lid and flip it a few times to distribute the honey. Loosen the lid so gasses can escape during fermentation
Bubbles begin to form in the honey after about 24 - 48 hours. After about 3 to 5 days, the garlic should be well fermented. If you’ve made it in the refrigerator, it will take about 2 - 3 weeks for the fermentation process to complete.

Oh-ho-ho It's me, May again, plopping myself down in your inbox like I own the place. Honestly I don't mind if you post them or not, it's ultimately up to you - perhaps you decide to post some, and keep others. Regardless, I'll keep bringing them to you like a crow bringing its favorite person shiny treasures. I am mildly interested to know who you think I am - though there's no need to be embarrassed if you were to get it wrong, I'm anonymous because I'm trying (kind of) to hide after all. Now, to actually get to the few things I've collected in my little notepad about what I wanted to talk about. (Yes, I have a notepad that I jot things down into so that I don't flood your inbox.) 1. I'm sure you already know this, you addressed it in your post, but I do feel like it's important to say it as well: It's okay to feel a bit panicked at first when confronted with a problem. I feel like it's only natural to feel that way, anyways. But the main thing is that it's rather impressive that you can take a step back and acknowledge that there are ways to help alleviate the problem even if you aren't able to solve it. This is something that I struggle with personally as well, and to see someone else who does, who also handles it in a beautiful way, is very motivating and reliving. It makes it feel like it isn't the end of the world even if I was panicking originally. You're doing a wonderful job at slowly pushing yourself towards making healthier choices for you, and I wanted to thank you for putting that out there for others to read, it brings inspiration even if you don't have a direction to go with it. I do wish life could have an immediate answer, though. It would be SO much easier... but of course, "It's not fun if it's easy" 2. Pomegranate honey sounds delicious, I love pomegranates, so I can only imagine pomegranate flavored honey would be amazing, and wildly superior to clove honey. 3. There's going to be more??!??!?!?!?!?!?!? I don't think I can put into words the excitement and joy that knowing that is a potential reality brings me. Perhaps you could imagine the excited sounds of a dog, amplified, mixed with various clapping noises and tapping from me stimming. But really, why in the world are you sorry?! Sorry for what? Coming back and gracing the TSP community with something as beautiful as your writing? Poppycock I say! I absolutely adore it, as you know, and honestly it's like thinking you ran out of your favorite thing and then realizing you have more of it. It brings joy! Another note: I've not been in this fandom nearly as long as you have, but I can agree with the "Welp, the Narrator has simply dragged me back into this thing and I will never escape again" cycle. I've enjoyed it, though, and I've met and discovered so so many lovely people (cough, you cough) so maybe that was his plan all along... the sneaky bastard... improving my mental health... [grumble grumble] 4. Fun fact, I was also the anon that submitted that question asking you if you thought the ocean was a soup, and I wholeheartedly agree: Soup needs to be warm. The only thing about gazpacho I like is saying the word like Puss says it in Puss in Boots. Oh, and I figured I would say, my favorite soup: It's this roasted garlic soup I made once, it was quite good. I can't recall what else was in it... other than roasted garlic... but obviously it was a soup.... Anywho, that's all I have for now. As always, please take care of yourself. Don't push yourself for something that isn't going to benefit you, and even if it has a benefit think of yourself in the long run first (is it really going to be worth it). Do something for you, and drink some water today if you haven't... and drink a little more if you have. ~ Your friend, May
hello again, may.
i'll start out small and see if i can start inching towards the truth over time. i believe you are someone i interact with in the discord DMs on a regular basis. that may not be the case, but you remind me of a good friend that i met under interesting circumstances.
i'm glad it helped. the path to better mental health is a hard one, one of the hardest paths to walk. but every small choice we make in the right direction is monumental.
2. yes, pomegranate honey is freaking delicious, but it is also hard to find. most grocery stores don't have it because it's copyrighted and is only made on one 5000 acre farm, according to the presentation i was at yesterday.
3. yes, there will be more. i'm working on a few pieces now. there will likely be a few more chapters of the human experience, and another... bonus story. which will hopefully be short and not another major undertaking dslkfjslkfjs (i realized at some point that the human experience project starts the narrator off as softer than his canon counterpart, and that i never really went into detail into how our relationship was established before he crossed over. nar will be a bit more mean in this one before he starts softening up, and closer to his canon self in terms of... pettiness. i'm aiming for that to be under ten chapters, because i just finished one 50k project and i don't think i can do it again so soon. as for my apologies, well, that's an interesting thing, isn't it? i want to move on from the narrator for complicated reasons that involve how i handle interpersonal relationships, but he keeps calling me back again and again. i'm still not done with him, and he's not letting me go despite my irritation about the whole thing.
interesting kind of soup there.
you take care of yourself too, ok? get uno reverse card(ed)

This is a great opportunity to post something I photoshopped a few months back. I finished it, then stared at the screen and sighed, remembering the old times, when I shopped respectable things.
Here it is side by side with BA's original cover:
Tumblr media
and on its own:
Tumblr media
(All stock photos mine except for the writing.)
Anyway, maybe you can imagine the characters as antipasti. They're all Catholics and the part of the plot we're currently at takes place in Rome, so it kinda fits.
--
In DETAIL:
Johanna, the fiery and determined crusader, would be particularly spicy and crunchy I think, maybe peppers filled with some kind of cheese, as in the picture above. The peppers would not be grilled or treated in any other way that breaks down their molecular structure. Johanna has no problem with being challenging to chew. And if she brings tears to your eyes, well, tears can be cleansing, so this pain benefits you in the end. Her sidekicks Mare and Agnes are stuffed olives that have a little bit of the same spicy cheese.
Helena, Johanna's sister and the wife of her enemy Seth, would be a savoury vegetable that has been infused with rosemary and some type of honey, given that she's very pleasant and eager to please. She would not be too sweet, but strive to be perfect. She is served with mozzarella, an inoffensive and yet very tasty cheese.
Sophia, their mother, is a rare, unknown vegetable in a sophisticated and unique herb mixture that quite possible includes Silphion. Satan is a spicy hard cheese that unexpectedly harmonizes very well with her (as proven by the song Astral Sophia).
Apollonius is semi-divine, so naturally I imagine that he contains a lot of garlic. I would pick an eggplant fried in garlicy oil for him. Eating him sends you to heaven, but then you feel a little nauseated from the ungodly amount of fat eggplants tend to suck up when you fry them, even if you take care to dehydrate them with salt before and soak off some fat with paper towels after. Ecstatically pleasant, yet treacherous... but you keep coming back because there's nothing else like it. Feta cheese just magically manifests next to him.
As for the Antichrist himself, I invoke the famous tumblr post that states: "Do not be salty. Be marinated. Show that you've been swimming in a complex mixture of feelings for a long time." I also think he should be a tomato that has been dried by the unforgiving heat of the sun for a long, LONG time. Possibly because someone put him there and then forgot about him. So a marinated, and very salty, dried tomato. That's our troubled hero Seth.

Delicious chickpea tortillas in a frying pan. Healthy breakfast 16
Tumblr media
They can be used instead of bread, along with soup, salad, or any other dish. And they can also be used as a separate dish or snack.
In tortillas, you can wrap an omelet with coconut milk, quinoa with vegetables, or just sticks of raw vegetables with tahini.
If you like articles subscribe to our newsletter and you will learn more - https://elenasunshinemagazine.substack.com/
You can also make "cream tubes": to do this, fill the tortilla with soft avocado, tahini, or even thick applesauce for children.
You can also make a dessert for the whole family from chickpea tortillas. You just need to add a little coconut sugar to the dough and dip the finished masterpiece in hot chocolate or honey.
Healthy breakfast of sweet potato falafel with sesame seeds. Lesson 15
About the benefits
Tumblr media
As I have already written, I was brought to chickpea tortillas by necessity – doctors forbade eating gluten-containing products, which include wheat and rye flour. The problem of non-tolerance or allergy to gluten has recently become more common, and the complexity of the diagnosis makes many people continue to unknowingly eat foods that are harmful to their health. Therefore, in any case, even a partial replacement of gluten-containing products with gluten-free ones will benefit.
In addition, chickpeas are representative of legumes and have a high content of vegetable protein, and this is important for those who, for one reason or another, restrict the intake of animal food.
Chickpea flour contains many useful elements and vitamins. And such an essential amino acid as methionine is found in chickpeas in greater quantities than in all other agricultural crops.
It is necessary for the human body, as it is directly involved in the synthesis of neurotransmitters, such as epinephrine and acetylcholine. And these substances, in turn, affect the full transmission of various impulses by nerve fibers, that is, normalizing the work of nerve cells.
Back in the early 19th century, Australian scientists found that chickpea flour products practically do not increase blood glucose levels, which means that they can safely be consumed by people suffering from diabetes.
Tumblr media
Ingredients:
Chickpea flour 1 cup Water 1-1,2 cup Egg 1 piece Salt to taste Garlic 1 clove Cumin 1/2 tablespoon Turmeric 2 teaspoons Sunflower oil 6 tablespoons
The choice of spices can be any, to your taste. I gave the recipe the ones that I use myself.
Cooking procedure
Mix chickpea flour with salt, turmeric, and cumin in a container. While stirring, gradually pour in 1-1. 5 cups of water. The consistency is slightly more liquid than on pancakes. Add the egg and mix everything together.
Chickpea flour has a special feature – the dough forms lumps that are poorly mixed. But there is also a secret to how to deal with it. You need to put the dough in for half an hour or an hour in the refrigerator. After that, mix again, and there will be no trace of the lumps.
Heat a frying pan with sunflower oil. Pour the dough into a thin layer-just as it happens when baking pancakes. Squeeze a clove of garlic into a frying pan using a garlic press.
After the first side is fried, turn the "pancake" over. You can finish by frying the second side. And you can make a tortilla with a filling. For example, putting grated cheese in it. While the second side is being fried, sprinkle the tortilla with cheese.
And then, already on a plate, roll it into a roll. I tried variations of fillings from mushrooms and eggplant. Another option is to wrap raw chopped vegetables (for example, tomatoes and cucumbers) in a ready-made tortilla. All the variations are very tasty. Perhaps you can come up with your own version. Bon Appetit!
