The gift of the goddess - Genesis Rhapsodos x gn!reader
Tumblr media
Synopsis: You live in a world where everyone is destined to meet their soulmate at some point during their life. The twist: You can only recognize them on Valentine’s Day, no matter how much time you spent with each other before. However, meeting your soulmate at a work party is the last thing you expected.
Pairing: Genesis Rhapsodos x gn!reader
A/N: This is the first drabble I've written for Genesis, so feedback would be greatly appreciated. Also, it would mean the world to me if you could reblog this because I worked really hard on this fic. Thank you. <3 (This fic is part of my Valentine's Day Event.)
Tumblr media
February 14th, the calendar on the wall says. Valentine’s Day is what’s printed beneath the date.
It’s not a secret that everyone who lives in this world has a soulmate. No one can say when they come into your life or when you’re destined to meet them but it’s a well-known fact that people can only recognize their soulmate on one particular day – Valentine’s Day, the day of lovers.
Total nonsense, you think. If two people are truly meant for each other, why put unnecessary obstacles in their way? But it has always been like this. And if that’s the way of the world, well, who are you to question it?
With a sigh, you turn your attention back to your best friend who’s lounging around next to you, scrolling through his mails.
“Shinra’s hosting a party this evening,” Zack tells you without looking up from his phone. “Should we go?”
You huff. “Why would I want to spend my spare time at the company?”
“It’s Valentine’s Day,” Zack says and wiggles his eyebrows. “There will be lots of people at this party – your soulmate could be there, too. As someone who has already found theirs, let me tell you that it’s the best feeling in the world to meet them. I’m almost tempted to call it magical.”
“No need to talk big, Fair,” you scold him and nudge him with your elbow. “I know very well that what happened with Aerith last year was just a chance meeting. If you had left a couple of minutes later you still wouldn’t know she exists.”
You have heard the story of their first meeting countless times, teasing Zack about it just as often. He had been on his way to buy a gift for another woman – Cissnei, member of the Turks – when he bumped into Aerith, on Valentine’s Day, as chance would have it. Of course, it only took them a split second to recognize each other, and the rest is history. They’re still so in love that sometimes, it makes you want to throw up. And you’re quite sure it’s only a matter of time until you’ll get the invitation to their wedding.
“Yeah, okay,” Zack says, interrupting your thoughts. “You have a point there. But who says that the same thing can’t happen to you, too? Wonders never cease, you know.”
“You’re just trying to convince me to accompany you and Aerith to this stupid party.”
“Yes.” He beams at you. “Is it working?”
With a deep sigh, you close your eyes and pinch the bridge of your nose. You’re going to regret this, you can sense it. But Zack is your best friend, and you have never been able to tell him No when he looks at you like this. “Unfortunately.”
----
The party itself is more of a formal get together than an actual party but you honestly haven’t expected anything else from a company like Shinra. But at least they offer drinks, and the Skyview Hall, usually a magnet for tourist, offers a great view over your hometown that’s still enough to take your breath away for a moment. But still, nothing can gloss over the fact that the atmosphere in the room is far from exuberant.
“I’ve seen funerals where people were more cheerful,” you whisper to Aerith who’s standing right next to you. She covers her mouth with her hand to hide her smile but her eyes give her away anyways. “You shouldn’t say that.”
“But it’s true.”
“We only got here,” Zack chimes in, optimistic as ever. “Stop naysaying.”
You have to resist the urge to stick out your tongue at him. (Not because he doesn’t deserve it but because this is your workplace and you don’t want to embarrass yourself in front of your coworkers.) So, instead, you just roll your eyes and smile. “Not even you can pretend that this is not the saddest party you’ve ever seen.”
“Yeah, fine. Maybe it is.”
“See.”
Aerith laughs. “Stop it, both of you. We’re here to have fun, no?”
“You’re absolutely right. How about some drinks?” Zack replies, looking at his girlfriend (who nods), and then at you. “Do you want something, too?”
You shake your head. You’re not in the mood for a drink yet. “Perhaps later.”
“Okay. We’ll be right back.”
You watch as they make their way over to the bar before you let your eye wander. When you spot a familiar figure, your heart skips a beat. You haven’t expected Genesis to be here, too. He’s deep in conversation with Sephiroth, and so it seems safe to dart a glance at him, and then another because he looks ridiculously handsome in his casual outfit.
Wait. You probably shouldn’t think stuff like that about your friend. But then again, you would be lying if you said you didn’t have a stupid little crush on him. But with this stupid soulmate thing, it’s foolish to fall for someone because there’s always the possibility that they’re not the one you’re meant to find. You’ve seen it countless times before and you’re not sure you want to experience that kind of heartbreak. So, instead of confessing your feelings to him you have learned to cherish your friendship because it’s honestly better than nothing – and it’s not like he has ever acted like you’re more than a friend to him. (Or maybe he has, and you just haven’t noticed.)
In that moment, his attention shifts away from the conversation, almost as if he senses that someone’s watching him, and you want to turn your head away, pretending like you haven’t stared at him like a lovestruck teenager for the past few minutes, but it’s already too late. He has figured you out.
Genesis’s gaze meets yours, and you freeze. It feels like time around you slows down to a point where everyone except you and Genesis seems to move in slow motion, the noise surrounding you fading into a distance. You want to look away, you really do, but no matter how hard you try, you just can’t.
And then, you suddenly find yourself taking a step towards him, then another one, and another one. You’re pretty sure you haven’t consciously decided to do that – it’s like a supernatural force pulls you towards him until you’re suddenly standing right in front of him.
“Hi,” you say, nothing else. But you still can’t help but notice how breathless your voice sounds. Goodness. You’re making a fool of yourself, you know it, but it’s too late to get out of this situation now. “Um… I- I just wanted to say Hello. And…” You don’t finish your sentence because Genesis, that smug bastard, has the audacity to smile, and your thoughts go up in smoke.
It’s only when Angeal and Sephiroth share a knowing look that the realization hits you like a brick. Genesis Rhapsodos, 1st Class SOLDIER and one of Shinra’s most valuable fighters, is your soulmate. And judging by the expression in his eyes and the way he’s still smiling at you, he has figured it out, too.
But this is ridiculous. You have spent so much time with him over the past few years, talking and laughing and wondering if the legends were actually true and not just some pipe dreams people came up with to make them feel better about not finding love. So, how is it possible that you never noticed the bond that’s obviously connecting you? Why didn’t you recognize your soulmate sooner?
“Oh.” You let out a tiny, barely audible gasp when you understand. Yes, you have spent countless days with Genesis before – but never Valentine’s Day.
“We should go somewhere else to talk,” Genesis suggests in that moment, snapping you out of your thoughts, and when you nod, he turns to his friends and adds, “please, excuse us for a second.”
“Sure,” Sephiroth says, not quite able to hide the smile that plays around the corners of his mouth. But at least, his amusement is subtler than Angeal’s who doesn’t even try to hide the grin that’s spreading on his face. Genesis rolls his eyes at him. “Not a word, Angeal.”
“I wouldn’t dare. See you later.”
Genesis’s hand rests on the small of your back as he guides you to the observation deck – another tourist magnet during the summer months but at this time of the year, the outside platform is still closed. You can see your reflection in the floor to ceiling windows, as well as the lights of Midgar, the city that never seems to sleep.
“So,” you say.
“So,” Genesis replies.
“We’re soulmates.”
He smiles, one of these rare genuine smiles that always make you a bit weak in the knees. “It truly is beyond me why we didn’t notice this sooner.”
“In our defense, there’s only one Valentine’s Day each year.
“That much is true.”
There’s an awkward silence, then, until you clear your throat and ask, “Do… do you think that’s the reason why we’re friends?”
Genesis shakes his head. “No. We’re friends because I like you. I actually like you a lot, (Y/N).”
It sounds like a confession, and your stupid heart starts beating faster again, but maybe you’re imagining things. Maybe it’s wishful thinking that makes his words sound like a confession.
A brief smile flashes over his face, almost as if he can read your thoughts. “I know I have never told you but you’re very dear to me,” he says softly and cups your cheeks. “And us being soulmates is just further proof that I fell for the right person.”
Your breath hitches in your throat. With him standing so close to you, cradling your face in his hands like this, you fear you’ll forget how to breathe. “Genesis, I- you – we-“
“Shh. I know.” His gaze travels from your eyes down to your lips before resuming eye contact. “… may I?”
You don’t know how you do it but you manage to nod, and that seems good enough for him.
The kiss is nothing like you presumed. You have expected Genesis to kiss passionately, with a hint of impatience maybe, but instead, his lips press against yours in such a soft and sweet manner that you feel like you’re going to melt right into the floor. It’s the kind of kiss that leaves you wanting more, and you wrap your arms around his neck to pull him closer.
When the two of you inevitably pull away, you’re pretty sure you have hearts in your eyes, even more so when Genesis smiles at you again. And then he says “I love you.”, and you know this moment will be etched into your memory forever.
Valentine’s Day has never been more perfect.

Okay I need more of genesis dropping into Seph' & angel's laps bc of reasons (pretty please 🙏)
😈😈😈😈
Genesis INSISTING that he's had the hardest, roughest, most INTOLERABLE day in the world and so he'll just have to lay here and DIE OF SORROW because no one loves him and everything is SUCH a challenge.
And also because Angeal and Sephiroth's laps are very warm and comfy.
Both make an effort to ignore him--It's Genesis fishing for attention like usual. Angeal reads his paper. Sephiroth does the crossword, occasionally glancing to the TV to see if the Midgar Mammoths are leading the game.
Genesis won't let them go so easily. He nuzzles against Sephiroth's arm and whines about how the fates are SO cruel, even the Goddess has forsaken him! To be cursed with such a callous lot in life, abandoned by friends and loved ones, cursed and scorned to a life of emptiness and woe!
Angeal: "Did you want the rest of the meatloaf, Seph? I was going to make a sandwich."
Sephiroth: "It's fine. Go ahead"
CLEARLY this must all be a test! A test of his will, his devotion to the Goddess! If only his efforts weren't so exhausted beneath the sheer weight of his tribulations! If only there were kinder hands and hearts before him! To fill that aching void, oh woe!
"Right now the only void I'm filling is my stomach. He's all yours, Seph."
"Mm. Can you make me a ham sandwich while you're up there? I'd contribute, but it seems my mobility is rather compromised at the moment."
"Right. No mustard, yeah? Thought so. That's fine because we're out."
WOE AND SUFFERING! ANGUISH! DESPAIR!
"Gen, can you stop screeching for five minutes? I've got a hell of a migraine."
AND DEATH NOW! DEATH! ARRIVING THIS LATE HOUR AT LAST! CONDEMNED TO BLACK OBLIVION, UN-ADORED, UNAPPRECIATED! DESPAIR, YE WORLD. AND GOODBYE!
The body goes limp. Sephiroth claps. Angeal just rolls his eyes, digging through the fridge and cabinets.
"Ask him if he wants something too."
"He's dead, Angeal. It was very moving."
"Yeah. A tragedy. Gen, I have egg salad. Would that work? Otherwise, you're getting ham."
Muffled gasp against Sephiroth's leg, trembling hand lifting to clutch weakly at the air.
"With...cucumbers...?"
Angeal rolls his eyes again and goes back to the fridge. Sephiroth smiles and pats Genesis' head.

I just had the thought that Sephiroth likes to bite and gnaw on things like pens, pencils, and markers when he is bored or doing paperwork.
This leads to everyone hiding pens, pencils, and markers where Sephiroth can't find them, such as in the vents or other, similar odd places.
In Turn, Sephiroth seeks out and finds the writing utensils.
And round and round the cycle goes, like a never ending game of treasure hunt.
Fluff be upon ye .・゜-: ✧ :-
• Not even Sephiroth knows why he does it⏤he's oblivious to the possibility that it could be an anxiety response, or an involuntary, self-soothing gesture. All he knows is that every pen he owns is indented with teeth marks, and each pencil in his desk is chewed beyond saving, and even other supplies like rulers and highlighters are spoiled by tiny teeth marks.
• It's an inconvenient habit, especially when someone asks to borrow a pen, but Sephiroth doesn't concern himself over it much. So what if Genesis complains that the nice fountain pen he lent Sephiroth now has a dent the size of a canine tooth near the top? Sephiroth can simply buy him a new one. So what if Angeal scolds him for biting the eraser top off the pencil he gave him? It still writes, it's perfectly usable.
• Genesis and Angeal, in turn, have learned that there is no place for them to hide their office supplies where Sephiroth won't find them. Angeal can't stand lying to him whenever he asks to borrow a pen, and Genesis knows that Sephiroth will go out and besmirch someone else's good pens anyway, so what's the point?
• They decide its time to do something the day Sephiroth's naked hands reveal that he's been using his fingers as substitute whenever writing utensils aren't available. The sight of faint bite marks, purple splotches and red knuckles break their heart.
• Angeal thinks it's covert anxiety, Genesis is sure that he's trying to soothe himself when his mind wanders, either men know that Sephiroth needs something to distract his mouth while he's working. Angeal reprimand's Genesis's suggestion to gift Sephiroth teething toys, but he's sold on the idea of candy.
• They look duly out-of-place buying out the local convenience store's entire stock of chewing gum, taffy and hard candy. They look even more odd fussing and arguing over which flavors Sephiroth will like best.
• They stock up Sephiroth's office when he's away on an assignment, filling his drawer with a neat row of gum packs, placing lollipops in his pen-holder, and littering any open space with hard candy. They make sure to make it look as if Sephiroth himself had bought the sweets, haphazardly thrown them wherever, and forgotten about it.
• The end result is positive. They're pleased to see Sephiroth with a lollipop in his mouth whenever they swing by his office, or chewing gum as he furiously as he writes things down. It's a win-win situation⏤all of their pens are spared, Sephiroth's biting habits have ceased, and if he has more sweets in his diet now, so what? He deserves to indulge.
• Genesis and Angeal make sure to keep his drawers stocked, going down to the convenience store once a week and picking out all of Sephiroth's favorite candy. They think he doesn't know where it's all coming from, that he's blissfully unaware of how much they care for him and can't stand to see him taking out his anxiety on his poor fingers.
• Sephiroth, in turn, finds it hilarious that Genesis doesn't know where that expensive red quill pen came from, or when he marvels at how his favorite gel pens seem to never run out. He thinks it's sweet how excited Angeal is when he finds a pack of brand new pencils in his desk drawer, and tries his hardest to remember when he bought himself an electric pencil sharpener shaped like a plant.
• They will never find out it's him, and Sephiroth will forever be grateful for their caring gesture.

Degrading (Genesis x Reader angst)
"Your degradation is getting worse, Gen."
"You think I haven't noticed?"
"You need to take it easy."
"I can't."
"Why not?"
Genesis huffed a sigh, crossing his legs on the sofa the two of you were sitting on.
"I just can't. There are things I must do." You frowned at that, taking his arm, which was wrapped in a tattered, fading leather sleeve, and lifted it into your lap, twining your fingers with his.
"You have to slow down and relax. You're not getting any better. Look at you," You reached up and brushed some of his grayish-auburn hair out of his face. "You're paler than the dead, your skin is literally peeling off your face, you haven't eaten in days, and you look like you haven't slept for weeks." Gensis sighed again, resting his cheek on his palm.
"I have unfinished business to attend to, darling, people that must be removed from existence. I can't afford to relax, or else--"
"But you're dying!" You interrupted, louder than you meant to. "You're literally crumbling away into dust, you dumbass!"
"Yes, I know," Genesis sighed, reaching up and massaging his prematurely wrinkling forehead. "Please stop reminding me."
"How can I when it's literally etched on your face?!"
"It won't be that way for long. Hollander has a cure, I must only help him and wait--he will restore me to normal."
"Wait? For how long?"
"I..." Genesis paused; he didn't know the answer to that question himself. After drawing in a weak, shaking breath, he admitted his ignorance. "I'm afraid...I don't know."
Silence fell upon the both of you, dragging out each minute like a knife across flesh. The sound of nothingness was maddening and infuriating, all at the same time. Your nerves were already tense before, but now, they felt like they were going to snap. Judging by the expression on Genesis's face, so were his. After a long, long while of noiselessness, you spoke.
"You don't know?"
"No. I...do not." Genesis let out a great sigh and began to tiredly massage his eyes. You squeezed his hand gently, scared to put too much force into it because you could feel how bony and fragile it was now. Once again, silence filled the air; the only audiable sounds being those of your breathing. Eventually, Genesis tore his hand away from yours and covered his face with it.
"What do I know?" He mumbled, muffled voice starting to sound grated and forced. "Nothing. I'm placing my life in the hands of someone I don't even trust. I...I'm going to die."
By the time you realized the weight of what you'd done by initiating this conversation, it was too late. Genesis had turned away, his face buried in his decaying hands, quietly weeping over the armrest of your couch; his chest heaving as he struggled to breathe in between sobs.
"Gen, hey," You mumbled, reaching out and grabbing his shoulder, your face burning with embarssment and regret. "Don't cry...you're not going to die." Genesis refused to answer you and instead curled up against the armrest tighter, his entire body shaking violently. "Come on, don't be like that," You urged, "You're going to be fine...you just need to...relax....and take it easy..."
If you hadn't felt warm, wet droplets slide off your cheeks and splatter on your clothes, you wouldn't have known you were crying too.
"Don't lie to yourself," Genesis finally croaked, still refusing to look you in the eyes. "Or me. You and I know the truth." Neither of you spoke another word, mostly because there was nothing else to say. No matter how hard you wanted to believe that it wasn't true, no matter how badly you tried to take care of him, facts were facts. The Grim Reaper was waiting at your doorstep, ready to take Genesis's soul.

genesis with a jealous s/o
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: genesis rhapsodos x gn!reader
tags: jealousy (genesis makes you jealous on purpose), established relationship, genesis wants all your attention
a/n: i kinda really love this guy-- he's just such a theatre kid and i'm brainrotting over him (& ff7 crisis core)
Tumblr media
genesis wouldn't admit it, but he enjoys it when you're jealous!
he likes to know you love him enough to get jealous when he's with someone else and he doesn't mind making you jealous on purpose either…
genesis likes to be the center of attention, but he yearns for you to pay attention to him the most!
so whenever he feels like you haven't been paying enough attention to him lately, he'll try to make you jealous – and it always works!
as soon as he notices you're getting jealous, genesis begins to act all innocent and tries to comfort you instead, assuring you that he only loves you!
"stop worrying so much, no one could ever compare to you” is what he'll say to you to calm you down, kissing you to make you forget your jealousy
though he'll repeat that little game of his a few days or weeks later, once he wants you to pay more attention to him again!

I noticed that it's been a while since you've been asked about the topic, but do you have any fluffly omega Genesis hcs?? ags or not?
- genesis nests CONSTANTLY and with absolutely everything, whether its his or not, and he absolutely cannot get comfortable or sleep otherwise, and its made worse when he doesn’t have angeal and sephiroth with him because he’s gotten so used to having their warmth surrounding him
- i think when hes in preheat and his hormones are all over the place he will occasionally get very very needy and clings to absolutely everyone and everything, no matter who or what it is, and its the cutest thing anyone has ever seen
- he gets very protective over sephiroth and angeal, and even over other omegas, and he’s willing to fight for them despite being an omega himself, he has the protective instincts of an alpha and even angeal and sephiroth have to question their roles sometimes
- sometimes when hes cuddling with angeal and/or sephiroth he’ll start nibbling around their mating marks, and it makes them all feel so much more at peace
- he always keeps air fresheners/colognes that are at least slightly reminiscent of angeal and sephiroth’s scents to soothe him if they’re away
- he instinctively cares for anyone and everyone if they’re hurt or upset, and he tries to help them in any way possible

genesis is sick seph and angeal are taking care of him
There is a severe temptation to Rag on Genesis and make this crack, but I Im too much of a sucker for Angst and Hurt/comfort😅. I have accepted my role really, and I love it. Never come to me for Crack, I always just make it sad.
SO!!!
CW for: vague descriptions of vomiting, discussions of childhood sickness, discussions of experimental poisoning/ testing.
Angeal stares at the steam rising from the cettle as it boils. He's exhausted and if he's honest with himself he's terrified. This doesn't happen to them, they don't get sick! And even on the odd ocassions they do, it is never like this.
when Genesis had complained of a headache the afternoon before, Angeal had rolled his eyes at the man and sparingly suggested he rest his eyes from reading. when the complaints of it getting worse hadn't stopped he'd snapped at Gen to go lay down in a dark room if its so bad. Only to be shocked when Genesis had swayed like a stick of bamboo the wind unon standing up.
Gen had gone quiet after that, Lying on his own office couch with the lights off and not moving. By the end of the day, when Sephiroth had swung by both of their officed to collect them for dinner, Genesis had developed a cough... and then the cough got worse.
... and worse.
When Gena was little, Angeal remembered he was sick a lot. Flu, Scarlet fever, colds, migraines, it didn't really matter what it was Genesis seemed to get it. Usually he'd just complain and sneeze and be obnoxious. But other times ha remembered his mother being called for when Gen wouldn't get out of bed, wouldn't speak or move much except to cry or struggle to breath.
Now felt like one of those times.
They had been up all night with him, taking turns to whip his brow and sooth him through the endless coughing fits, vomiting and barly cognazent concious moments. Sephiroth had Tied up his own hair and then Gena's when the stress started getting too much, and angeal had winced when Genesis had whimpered at the preasure on his scalp... But it was better that then trying to sponge sick out of his hair.
After twelve hours of pure torture for everyone involved, Gena's fever broke and he gained a little bit more licidity. Now it was just making sure he made a full recovery.
Angeal made up a two cups of coffee and placed a clean rag over the bowl of Chicken noodle soup he'd warmed. He doubted Genesis would be able to keep all of it sown, but they at least needed to try. Placing it all on a tray he trecked back to the bedroom.
"How are we looking?" He asked upon entering. Sephiroth was sat in the squishy reading chair that usually sat in the Corner of Gena's room, looking only maginally less tired than Angeal felt. The man was used to insomnia.
"he woke up for only a minute or two. I managed to get him to drink some water," Seph whispered back, taking the cup that was handed to him.
Angeal sighed and sat on the end of the bed. "I never thought I'd say this but i think I need to hear him being dramatic,"
Sephiroth hummed and looked back at Genesis on the bed. He didn't look peaceful exactly, there was too much sweat and signs of distress about his person for that, but he he no longer seened to be in active discomfort and stress. angeal watched Seph scan his eyes over their lovers face and body, taking note of everything he could.
"What are you thinking?" he asked softly, placing a hant on Sephiroths thigh and squeezing.
Sephiroth twitched his nose slightly, a little stress tell they'd long ago realised he was considering variables that he didn't like. It was upsetting how often those variables were the truth.
"I'm thinking, we may need to pay a visit to Hollander once he is not in danger any more" Angeal blinked at him.
"You think Hollander did this to him?" he asked, with a note of scepticism to his voice. "Seph, babe, I know you have reason to mistrust scientists, but this is Hollander we're talking about here. He's not Hojo, he doesn't do things like this!"
"No? Angeal, consider for a second. Genesis goes down to the lab for a pre mission check up" Sephiroth bracketted the words with air quotes, and Angeal would have snorted at how very Zack the gesture was had he not started to feel sick himself. Sephiroth continues.
"And when he comes back from the lab he complains that he has a headache; something he has not complained of since he was a third, I know because I checked -"
"you accessed his medical records? seph tha-"
"Hush. complains of a headache and then all of a sudden the mission is cancled due to prioritising and Genesis does not even have the time to feel angered at any kind of usually percieved slight against his skill before he's going down - in a single afternoon Angeal- with a severe fever, sickness, apparent chest infection and the worst migraine he has had since he wat fourteen."
Layed out as plainly as Sephiroth had put it, it did seem awfully convenient that Genesis had not been sent away as this was developing. in fact Angeal could track Sephiroths logic almost perfectly with little room to suggest conicidence. But this was Hollander .The man was a bastard, that Angeal would fully admit, but he had never purposfully poisoned them before, not in the ways Hojo had done to Sephiroth.
"Could you two discuss the conspiricy of my death a little quieter please?" came a rough voice from behind him, and when he turned to follow Sephs redirected gaze he saw Genesis attempting to pull himself up into a sitting position.
He got up to help, but was flapped at irately when he went to support Gena's back.
"How do you feel?" he asked softly, and Genesis sighed.
"Like I went round for round with the Midgar Zolom and then decided to train with Sephiroth as a masocistic treat to myself," Sephiroth snorted as he moved to Gens other side, sitting on the bed with him and pulling the red head to lean against his sweater clad side.
Gen leaned into it with a comfroted hum, reaching for Angeal who came easily. winding his ams around the both of them and placing his chin on Gen's head.
"If you wanted to fight me like this, i would have been bored by your sloppyness." Sephiroth pokes fun and Genesis squawks indignintly. Angeal chuckled.
"So mean!" Gena weakly punches Sephiroth in the thigh. "I could have very well died!"
Angeal sobered a bit, and from the shit in Sephiroths posture, so did he.
"yes, you could have," he murmered and Genesis' anger Deflated. He coughed into his fist as he relaxed against them, and when his breath caught, the two sat him up straighter so that he could breath better as he Coughed harder.
"S-sorry" he weezed.
"It's fine love," Ageal whispered handing him the glass of water. Gen Gulped it down and sat back again.
"I have not missed being this ill." he commented. "Reminds me of of the time I had scarlet fever, though I confess I don't actually remember a lot of the experience. mostly the pain,"
They sat there for a while in silence, Seph playing with the promise ring on Gena's left hand while Angeal combed out some of the knots out from his hair. after about half an hour, Genesis spoke; his breath rattling in his chest a little.
"Do you truely think Hollander did this to me?" he asked, not looking at either of them.
"I do," was all Sephiroth gave him, and Angeal sensed that Genesis din't know what to do with that information. what were you supposed to say when the man in charge of you medically was suspected of trying to kill you?
There was nothing anyone could say that could ever make that okay.
"I made you soup, if you're up for eating?" he offered instead and Genesis seemed to welcome the distraction, making grabby hands at him, like a child, as he reached for the still warm bowl.
As Angeal and Sephiroth watched him eat, they glanced at each other, a silent agreement being made. It this was Hollander -and Gods above did Angeal hope it wasn't - Then they would do everything in their power to hunt that man down and end him before he had the chance to make Genesis suffer further.

The mattress creaks as it depresses under Genesis’ weight—he sits on its edge, leaning over to brush the silver hair from a sleeping Sephiroth’s face. His head lays in one corner, and his feet in the opposite, knees bent. The duvet is bundled and bunched between his knees, in front of his chest, and around his face. It helps keep him on his side, somehow. He has migrated well away from the neatly placed and plumped pillows, with their silk cases. Genesis can only just see the edges of his pale face and the movement of his rising-falling chest in the cold, artificial Midgar light that filters in through the drawn blinds.
“Are you still awake?” Genesis whispers. The wall clock ticks past twelve, the clicking sound is just audible below his tired voice. He did his best to return home quietly.
The lights never came on as his coat went up on the hanger and the hook. The boots came off as easily as they do every day—no thought, all memory. He closed each door with the knob fully turned, so the latch wouldn’t make a sound. It is company housing. It is simple and navigable housing, even if it is the most comfortable and high-security variety for the spoiled and paranoid. Genesis would have no less for himself—he would have no less for a companion to access, either.
The backs of his fingers brush across the skin of Sephiroth’s cheek, watching, waiting. Filling his lungs with air, the lightly sleeping FIRST’s eyes open and lock onto his counterpart. Tiny slivers of green surround those blown-out pupils—they’re almost circles in this dark.

Books
Pairings: Genesis x you, Crisis Core
Wordcount: 1144
You’d, quite literally, bumped into him one day. Rufus had been in for a very brief visit, or so you’d been told. Tseng said he’d only been in the building for a grand total of an hour, but before he’d left he’d requested that one of the Turks escort you to the bookshop, to which Tseng had happily agreed. You hadn’t been in months, so the result had been you picking up nearly every book you set your eyes on that looked remotely interesting. Tseng had escorted you safely back to the headquarter’s ground floor before heading off on other business. You were ecstatic about your new haul and the fact that you’d been outside for the first time in ages, so you would be forgiven that your attention was solely on the bag of treasures you held in your hands as you headed on autopilot towards the elevator, not expecting any obstacles to be in your way. It was then that you’d strode confidently into an unmoveable object, so strong that you fell backwards and your bag spilled, books scattering to the floor.
You looked up at what had blocked your path and saw the tall figure of the imposing Soldier, famous for his red leather coat as he looked down at you, momentary confusion across his face.
“I’m so sorry!” You bowed your head, realising just who you’d ran into. You’d crossed paths at events sometimes when Father deemed it necessary, but the two of you had never spoken. Why would you?
“Are you all right?” He’d crouched down in front of you.
“Yes, thank you.” You nodded, keeping your head down as you got up to your knees and started to gather your fallen books. You were reaching for one when a gloved hand beat you to one. Genesis Rhapsodos’ eyes lit up at the title.
“Now, this is an interesting one.”
“You’ve read it?” You didn’t mean to sound surprised and hoped he wouldn’t be offended. You’d only ever seen him with a rather beloved copy of Loveless.
“I have. I won’t spoil it for you though, Ms Shinra.” He smiled. You blushed at the realisation he knew exactly who you were.
“I heard people at the bookshop saying it’s trying to be a knock-off Loveless, but I couldn’t help myself.” You began to pack the books back into the paper bag.
“No comment,” he passed you another two titles. “But nothing holds up to the original.” Genesis watched as you carefully placed the volumes in the bag before he offered you his hand. You accepted – it would be rude not to – and he easily pulled you up to your feet. “I must commend you for your excellent taste – I wasn’t aware you were such an avid reader. Forgive my abrupt remark, but is this why we see so little of you?”
You blushed again at that – he knows who you are and enough to note your absence?
“I…” You hesitated. The reason everyone saw so little of you was that Father hardly gave you permission to do anything but stay in your room. Some days you’d tried to leave and found a Soldier stationed at your door, requesting you stay in there today for your own safety. On the days you were allowed out of your room, you weren’t permitted to leave the building unless escorted, so you spent the day wandering the hallways of places you did have access to, or could follow in the elevator.
You swallowed, “I’m sorry if I’ve come across as rude with my absence, I didn’t mean to. You’re all so busy and I don’t want to be an intrusion to anyone until I can contribute.”
Genesis nodded, but you were pretty sure he could tell you were lying. “Well, permit me to escort you back to your quarters to ensure these books arrive safely at their destination without any further incident.”
“That’s very kind but unnecessary, General. I’ll be perfectly fine from here. I promise to look where I’m going this time.”
“I insist, Ms Shinra. Why shouldn’t a general’s duties include escorting a young lady like yourself safely home?” He then deftly snatched the bag from your hand, holding the books hostage. “Besides, I would like to see what else you’ve purchased today – I’m always looking for recommendations.”
You hesitated, but surely you couldn’t get in trouble over this? He was a General in Soldier and you could hardly boss him around. “That would be very kind, General.”
“Please, call me Genesis.” He replied, offering the crook of his arm. You prayed your face hadn’t gone completely red as you slid your arm through. “Now, tell me, which one are you going to read first?”
You’d made polite conversation back to your quarters, but you couldn’t help yourself when you saw Genesis’ eyes widen as your door slid open, revealing your imposing bookshelves. Your quarters were small but it wasn’t like you entertained. There was a bathroom to the side, and a split living room and sleeping area. You had bookshelves lining all of the walls – a collection you’d started when you were quite young.
“If you have time, you can come in and have a look through the shelves. That’s only if you wanted to, I mean…” You trailed off, cursing yourself. He was a general, surely he had dozens of things to do rather than escort the likes of you back to your quarter and then look through your books…
“I’d love to.”
He’d stayed in your room for nearly an hour, marvelling over the contents of your bookshelves whilst you packed away your new purchases and noted them down in a notebook you kept. You’d told him he could borrow anything he liked the look of and he’d slowly began a small pile on the table. Eventually, his phone had rang. You’d busied yourself with something, not wanting to ease drop but the conversation had been monosyllabic on his side before he hung up.
“My sincerest apologies, but duty calls.” He forced a smile. “I must thank you once again for your hospitality, Ms Shinra.”
“The pleasure’s been all mine - I’ve enjoyed the company. Please, don’t forget your books.” You gestured to the pile and he hesitated, before snatching only one off the top.
“How about I take this one for now? Then I could call upon you again for the next, if you’d have me, that is.” He smirked at that.
“I’d… I’d like that.” You smiled, your heart skipping a beat.
“Excellent.” Genesis headed towards the door, before spinning on his heels and taking your hand instead. “Even if the morrow is barren of promises, nothing shall forestall my return.”  He pressed a kiss to the back of your hand before he strode out the door, your face matching the red of his coat perfectly.

What was Sephiroth's first time experiencing a brain freeze like?
On a particularly blisteringly hot summer day in the office, Genesis manages to goad Angeal and Sephiroth into ditching during the lunch hour so they can get slushies. Sephiroth, being the sheltered homeschooled alien that he is, has absolutely no idea what Genesis is talking about.
"Oh you'll love it," Genesis purrs, his grin nearly devilish as he strides confidently towards the elevator. "The perfect cure for those hot flashes. I hear when you drink it really, really fast, your soul ascends to meet the Goddess."
Sephiroth swallows down the reply that he really has no interest in engaging with whatever Goddess Genesis is always harping on about, bleakly trailing behind. Angeal is grumbling that they BETTER not be out of mango again. They always run out of mango. Every single time. If he's going to dish out his hard-earned money, by the gods, they BETTER have--
Genesis cuts him off by wrapping a playful arm around his neck, pulling him along. Shut up, you big cheapskate. Enjoy the ride.
They go down the long list of different flavors, Genesis obviously selecting anything that remotely resembles the color red--"For posterity, darling! What would they THINK if I'd selected some ungodly purple abomination?"--and Angeal trying not to twitch angrily in place when they ran out of mango. Again. He settles for cola. Sephiroth very carefully selects cherry, as he's very fond of actual cherries. Genesis smugly taps their cups together in a mock toast because he's glad even Sephiroth admits that red IS the best of the lot. And they drink.
Reluctantly remembering Gen's advice from earlier, Sephiroth drinks it as quickly as he can. It IS refreshing, after all. And it's not typical for him to get to enjoy something sweet. Hojo would yell. So this is definitely something worth--
Oh.
Oh my.
Oh no.
Sephiroth puts his head and his hands and twitches, aggressively stomping a foot. Genesis snickers, only to accosted by his OWN brain freeze seconds later, yelping and apologizing to Sephiroth repeatedly because never mind--NO ONE deserves this.
Angeal looks on, rolling his eyes as he sips slowly, smiling a little when the two younger soldiers lean on each other and laugh in relief after the ache has subsided. He's glad they're all together, enjoying a lazy summer afternoon. Times like these are precious, few and far between.
.............they should have had mango though. He's going to write a Moogle Review about it.

Hello again! Ask 2 of 3, please don't feel obligated to do all of them!
For this one can I request Genesis Rhapsodos and a medium bouquet of Aspidistra with Lilly and Hyacinth?
Working together as SOLIDER and reassuring Genesis who seems to always seems to place second to Sephiroth that he was already your hero to begin with and didn't need to always beat his rival to prove his worth.
Thank you!
Okay, first of all, I'm so sorry that it took me so long to finish this but it took me three drafts to figure out what I want to do with this amazing combinations of prompts. I really hope you like the result. <3
Prompts: Hurt/comfort, mutual pining, “Don’t let what they say bring you down. That’s what they want.” + “You’re my hero.” (1k followers event: Vani’s flower shop)

When you try your best but you don’t succeed – Genesis Rhapsodos x gn!reader
The clock almost strikes midnight when you’re finally done with your most recent mission report. You hate the paperwork that comes with your job but you know from experience that Director Lazard sets great value on these things. (That, and you still remember the lecture he gave you the last time you forgot to hand in your reports in time.)
With a sigh, you put your pen down and close the file in front of you. Today has been hell, for an abundance of reasons, and you’re tired and stressed out. Your head feels like it’s going to explode if you stay here any longer. Heck, even your eyes hurt from staring at the papers in front of you for who knows how long.
You raise your arms above your head, stretching your back that makes an unsettling cracking noise, and yawn. Heavens above, you can’t wait to get home, take a hot shower and then head straight to bed. If only home wasn’t so far away…
For a brief second, you consider spending the rest of the night in one of the on-call rooms the newer recruits sometimes use when they basically have to be on duty 24/7, but if you’re being honest to yourself, nothing can beat the comfort of your own bed. So, you heave to your feet and grab your jacket. Time to finally leave this place. For today, at least.
Your footsteps reverberate with the tall walls as you make your way down the hallway, past the well-stocked armory and the briefing room. At this time of the day (or night, rather), everything’s eerily quiet, a harsh contrast to the usual hustle and bustle that has a lock on floor 49 throughout the day. The sudden silence, paired with the dim lights, is almost a bit creepy – and you start to wonder if there’s something lurking in the shadows, waiting for you to let your guard down. The next second, you roll your eyes. Just because it’s late, you don’t need to act like you’re in a horror movie. Everything’s fine.
Just a second later, the door right next to you slides open. With a yelp, you jump backwards, your heart racing as if it wants to jump right out of your chest, and you raise your arms, ready to defend yourself. Only then do you recognize that the supposed intruder is not an intruder at all. No, it’s Genesis, and the expression in his eyes makes it very clear that your reaction amuses him. “My, what have I done to deserve this?”
“Goodness, Genesis, you scared the hell out of me,” you say, still a little breathless.
“My sincerest apologies.”
“Shut up. We both know you don’t mean that.”
“You’re right. I don’t.”
You laugh. Even after years of working together, his dry remarks sometimes still catch you off-guard. “You’re so stupid.”
“And you’re especially cruel today, (Y/N).” He sounds like he’s about to pout, and you laugh again. “Hey, I’m not the one who’s hanging around at headquarters to scare innocent bypassers.”
“Alright, first of all, I’m not hanging around, and secondly, you’re far from an innocent bypasser. You looked like you were about to rip my head off,” Genesis says. You slap him across the arm. “Now you’re exaggerating. I was just ready to defend myself.”
“Against what? Your shadow?”
“Oh, shut up, will you? What are you doing here anyways? You had a day off, no?”
Genesis shrugs, the smile slowly fading from his face. “Training,” he replies, as if it’s the most normal thing in the world to spend your spare time at headquarters to train. You raise your eyebrows. “For what?”
“To get better, of course.”
You frown. “But you’re already an excellent fighter.”
“There’s always room for improvement, (Y/N).”
It’s not a secret that Genesis is highly ambitious. Everyone knows that he always strives to excel not only himself but also everyone else. And while you agree that a bit of extra training can only be a good thing, you feel like there’s more to it this time. Something about the way he presses his lips together and carefully avoids your gaze tells you that something must have happened throughout the day to trigger him like this.
“What did Sephiroth do?” you ask.
“Who says he did something?” comes the reply, quick like a shot.
You sigh. “Gen, whenever you’re spending an unhealthy amount of time with training it has something to do with Sephiroth. So, what happened?”
Genesis doesn’t answer right away. But when he finally speaks again, he sounds so discouraged that you have to resist the urge to pull him into your arms then and there. “The director assigned me to a difficult mission a couple of days ago. This morning, he informed me that he decided to give it to Sephiroth instead.”
“What? Why on earth would he do that?”
“I don’t know. He didn’t bother to explain his reasons to me.”
“Perhaps he needs you for another mission.”
“Or perhaps he thinks I’m simply not strong enough to deal with this task. Unlike Sephiroth, of course, because we all know that he never fails.” Genesis doesn’t even try to hide the bitterness that’s seeping into his voice now. “No matter how much I train, they will never choose me over him.”
“Oh Genesis,” you say, softly, and take a step towards him to wrap your arms around him. His muscles tense up, and he makes no move to hug you back but at least, he doesn’t pull away from your touch. “I hate that he makes me feel like I’ll never be good enough.”
You haven’t expected that much honesty from him. Even though you’re one of his closest friends, Genesis has never shown his insecure and vulnerable side before, and it breaks your heart to know that he has dealt with all of this self-doubt completely on his own for who knows how long. You hug him tighter, a desperate attempt to show him that he’s not alone, that he’s got you, no matter what happens. “I wish you could see yourself the way I do. Then you’d know that you don’t have any reason to feel inferior to Sephiroth.”
Genesis huffs. “Be still, my heart,” he says but even the mocking undertone can’t hide that your words have caught him completely off-guard.
You pull away, locking gaze with him. Even in the dim light, his eyes are the brightest blue you have ever seen, like the sky on a summer day, and you’re pretty sure it’s not only because of the Mako. “I mean that,” you say. “And I don’t care what people say about you or what Sephiroth has achieved in the past because you’re my hero, and I admire you so much, Genesis. I always have.”
“Stop,” he mumbles. His cheeks are tinted pink, a clear sign that your words have flustered him, although he tries his best to hide it. No matter how confident and arrogant Genesis acts sometimes, he has always been vulnerable to genuine compliments, and you’re well aware of that. “No, I’m not done yet,” you say, “I refuse to let you think that you’re anything less than amazing. I know that people often compare you to Sephiroth but… Don’t let what they say bring you down. That’s what they want. You don’t have to prove anything – not to me, not to Lazard and most definitely not to everyone who thinks that you’re inferior to Sephiroth.”
“(Y/N), stop, please.”
“No, I-“
“Stop,” Genesis interrupts you, more firmly this time. He cups your cheek and leans in until your lips are almost touching. Voice barely louder than a whisper now, he adds, “I need you to stop talking, so that I can kiss you.”
“Oh.”
“If you allow me to kiss you, that is.”
“Now you need to stop talking,” you reply, breathlessly, before you close the gap between the two of you and press your lips to his.

Genesis and Sephiroth have never really liked touch, each for their own reasons. Still, they desperately want it, and are inevitably drawn into each other’s arms by the strings of fate (the author’s whims) and learn to enjoy it.
He was too sensual a child—he liked to experience everything with all of himself, all the attention and meaning he could wring out of any moment—for anything even slightly resembling intimacy of any kind to be taken lightly, touch not least of all, so the fact that he felt trapped into it bothered him more than he knew how to express.
The mood has possessed me to write Genesis pov again (though this is a twoshot and the next chap will be seph pov) so have this nice touch-starved fic that randomly flowed out of my mind yippee
It was originally going to be just sephgen, but then I blinked and ended up in gengeal land again. Why this keep happening to me I do not know but I’m not complaining, sephgen next chapter

Attention (Genesis x reader fluff)
"Goddess?"
"Goddess, I know you're awake."
"Come on, you can't ignore me forever..."
You let out a dramatic sigh and rolled over to face your lovely--but incredibly needy, auburn-haired lover. "What?" Genesis smirked and propped his head up on his elbow. "I knew you were awake already." He reached out, took your hand, and brought it up to his lips. You groaned and rolled over, retracting your arm from his grasp. "So what?" You grumbled, pulling the covers and wrapping it around yourself once again. Behind you, Genesis clicked his tongue in mock impatience. "You aren't that perceptive, are you, Goddess?" He let out a low, rumbly chuckle and scooted closer to you, wrapping an arm around your waist. He leaned forwards and whispered into your ear, "I want you to pay attention to me." You exhaled heavily and turned to face him. "Seriously?" Genesis nodded, teal eyes shining. "You woke me up at-" You yawned and glanced at your alarm clock, "5:00 in the morning to ask for attention?" Genesis nodded and rested his head against your chest, gazing up at you expectantly. "Fine." You acceded, wrapping an arm around his toned torso. Genesis giggled and rolled over, ending up on top of you. "I didn't say cuddle me, I said pay attention to me." You sighed and ran your hands up and down his beautiful figure, staring up at him, watching his smirk grow as his ego was added to. After a few minutes, he laid down and buried his face into your shoulder, wrapping his arms around you and sighing happily. "I thought you didn't want cuddles." You mused, carding your fingers through his soft, silky hair. "I changed my mind." Genesis replied, with a small 'hmph'. "You are so ridiculous, Gen." You huffed, tugging on his hair gently. "Ridiculous?" He repeated, chuckling. "And what's so ridiculous about me?" "You're a drama queen," You replied, gently squeezing his shoulders with one hand while the other continued to play with his hair. "And you can be kinda needy....and a bit of a bitch?" Genesis let out a haughty puff of air. "I'm hurt," He declared, though he made no attempt to get off of you or do anything about it. "It's true," You responded, pressing a kiss to his soft cheek. "But it's one of the things I love about you." Genesis chuckled and turned his head to look up at you. "You mean it?" You nodded, kissing his cheek again. "I sure do." Genesis smiled, then rolled off of you and folded his arms behind his head. You scooted over and traced little patterns onto his supple skin, feeling his muscles flex under your touch. "You're so pretty, Gen..." You mumbled, hearing him smirk in delight. Despite his arrogant behavior, he really did care about your compliments; they meant a lot to him--and they fed his ego. "Thank you, Goddess." He snickered, curling himself around him. "I am beautiful, aren't I?" He kissed the side of your neck, then nestled into the crook of your neck. "You are," You agreed, reaching up to pat his head. "I love you." Genesis nodded and kissed the top of your head. "I love you too. I also believe I've gotten all the attention I require for now. Let's go back to sleep." You nodded gatefully, yawned again, then snuggled up in your beloved's arms and soon drifted off to sleep.

A VERY belated beginning
-- to @shinraholidayparty's week that ended yesterday. But I did a thing and I wanted to share it. May continue to pick at things, I've just been consumed by Scholar!Genesis in his fic.
This collection is made of out-of-order prompted fics, starting with Day 3: snowed in, coming home, baking
Tumblr media
“It’s quite the storm,” Reeve said quietly, standing at the ice-frosted windows, fingertips grazing the cold inner glass. There was no condensation, it was better made than that — he’d seen to it personally — nor was there cold air seeping in around it. But beyond… beyond the secure glass was a wild storm that was just some consistency shy of being declared a blizzard. There was over two feet of snow already, and it was a logistical nightmare they hadn’t prepared for.
Or no, he had. But people hadn’t taken him seriously until the first five inches were down. Then people were implementing his plans, then people were hitting the stores and that got ugly with people panicking and —
A fluffy head almost took him out at the knees and he took it as a sign from Genesis not to dwell too much on it. He was doing what he could. Sometimes, he had been told (had told others), that had to be enough. Even when it really wasn’t.
He’d gotten home to his penthouse in Upper Eight just before it had really started to get nasty spitting ice, where he was greeted by Blizzara and Cait Sith, the latter of whom was riding the Icicle Snow Cat like a four legged chocobo.
They were all safe, warm, comfortable and well supplied and he ought to be grateful for it. But there was a little voice that did want to whine, because Genesis wasn’t there. And there was no way he could get there; one, because it was a level three and it was illegal to be on the roads. Two, because it was just too nasty to drive even if it wasn’t. And a final resounding three, because anything other than driving was impossible with how much Genesis utterly loathed being cold.
So. Everything was nice and wonderful except for that.
Yeah.

hi!! i hope this request finds you well, do you think you could write agszc with a s/o whos good with kids please 💕?
໒⦂ 𝐆𝐎𝐎𝐃 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐊𝐈𝐃𝐒.
notes. hi hi anon — i wasn’t sure how to go about this so i took a little inspiration from the interactions cloud and zack have with the sector five kids and applied them to everyone a bit! went for headcanons, i hope they are to your likings<3
genre. fluff + crack
ft. sephiroth, cloud strife, zack fair, genesis rhapsodos, angeal hewley
gender neutral! reader.
Tumblr media
➫ 𝓢𝗘𝗣𝗛𝗜𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗛 ୨୧ ˎˊ˗
⌗  i hate to break it to you anon but i gotta slap some angst in here — sephiroth finds himself a bit confused, yet curious watching you among kids. had he been raised as normal kids were, would he have received this sort of attention too..? this kindness that was given without effort or consequences?
⌗  in the beginning he just let you do your thing, hanging out with them as you did while he waited to walk you home later.. but then he was slowly urged to join- by the kids no less.
⌗  he felt awkward, out of place and unsure of how he should act — but everyone was patient with him and something oddly warm began to spread in his chest. you didn’t pressure him into anything either — which he was grateful for.
⌗  the girls would braid brush his hair, place flowers in, and when the boys marveled at his height and overall build, begging to be carried, sephiroth obliged and found himself feeling elated — at peace among them.
⌗  you always told them bedtime stories but over time, the kids began to whisper and ask you if sephiroth could because his voice was so smooth and lulled them to sleep effortlessly
⌗  one time the children found a gray, stray kitten — and didn’t want to give it away.. so it became a combined effort between you, the kids and sephiroth, too.. who felt a strange empathy for the feline. it became an everyday thing from then for all of you to take care of the cat and welcome it among your group<3
⌗  someone crying or hurt? masamune’s out and ready to take out the reason behind those tears and wails — which you have to stop seph from doing, but it’s cute how much he cares<3
➫ 𝓒𝗟𝗢𝗨𝗗 𝓢𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗙𝗘 ୨୧ ˎˊ˗
⌗  he’s um- cloud is uh.. he’s doing his best, remember?? ahem.. in other words, he is still trying to get accustomed to kids — it’s a work in progress, but you seem to be amazing with them??
⌗  bro is completely awestruck at how well you get along with them, how you have them following you around with such ease and looking all excited when you arrive. literally how is that possible?? it makes no sense..
⌗  but cloud, as stated before, is doing his best. during the times that you ask him to help out, he manages to provide a lending hand in busying them.
⌗  a lot of the kids are in awe with him and want a chance to ride on fenrir with him or learn how to wield such an impressive weapon like he does — so cloud does what he can to indulge in those requests..
⌗  not the best or worst with cooking but he does know some recipes from growing up with his mother and has shared them with you to cook together on occasion for the children<3
⌗  over time cloud does get better with them, becomes more natural and less stiff.. though he can’t help but stop at times and stare when he witnesses you with them — so serene and kind, delicate and careful. unknowingly, it brings a tint smile to his lips and thoughts of the future.
⌗  ..and then the kids call him out and he becomes a flustered, tsundere, mess — which has you stifling a laugh into your hand LMAO
➫ 𝓩𝗔𝗖𝗞 𝓕𝗔𝗜𝗥 ୨୧ ˎˊ˗
⌗  you’re good with kids?? him too!! zack is so so good with kids, they absolutely ADORE him ( can’t blame ‘em ) — he’s just so chill for an adult!
⌗  seeing you with kids literally clenches at his heart, your exchanges with them are just so so cute and you speak in such a sweet, gentle voice towards them. could honestly listen to you all day if he could😭
⌗  the kids always tease you guys about getting married and make kissy faces at you guys which has your face burning up with embarrassment meanwhile zack is like hell yeah!! ofc he’s gonna marry you, duh!!
⌗  the girls like to pick flowers for you both and do your hair all pretty<3 and zack’s too, cuz ofc he needs to look his best too!! he has little reluctance and is excited as a puppy✨
⌗  oh no a kid is crying?? zack is on the case.. had it not been for you comforting them already oops. but-! he’s on his way to find the culprit! even if it’s just a pebble or branch that happened to be in their path..
⌗  cooking? not his domain, but you seem to be good at it! especially making these cute bunny looking apple slices<3 he helps with cleaning instead ( sometimes )
⌗  now what he does do good in is bedtime stories! has the craziest things to tell and even some folklore from his hometown, gongaga! the kids eat up everything he tells them and are out cold within minutes🫡
➫ 𝓖𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗜𝗦 𝓡𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗢𝗗𝗢𝗦 ୨୧ ˎˊ˗
⌗  surprisingly, he’s very good with kids! more so the girls because they’re all heart eyes for genesis, thinking him to be some sort of a prince.. especially with the way he dresses, speaks and carries himself in general..
⌗  he often entertains their fantasies, going along with them and accepting the flowers they picked for him or the colorings they’d hand him — it was just so cute!
⌗  the boys enjoyed to see him in action more with combat, literally watching with stars in their eyes when he fights.. but they always seem to gravitate a little more towards you ahaha..
⌗  genesis has to pinch himself occasionally from staring at you, watching how loving and caring you were towards these random kids that attached themselves so easily to you because you had given them the time of day
⌗  as the kids are lining up for your cooking, so is your boyfriend — he is SO there for that food and is very much enjoying not only the meals you prepare but this overall side of you.. it’s refreshing, he feels special to see it🙁
⌗  organizes a little play for the kids to take part in — of course it’s loveless, it always has to be with him.. and the kids beg him to read it to them at night which brings tears to his eyes. finally some loveless enjoyers!! unlike his friends who make FUN of him..
⌗  always brings baskets of dumbapples to share a piece of home with the kids and even makes different deserts and pastries that he came up with personally! might not do much cooking but baking — and with his hometown’s fruit? yes he will!

⌗  you would think he is another one of the awkward few ( seph and cloud, unfortunately im looking at you guys.. ) but he is not! angeal is really good at taking care of zack, almost as if he’s his own family.. so i believe he must be good with children too despite his stoic appearance
⌗  it was by chance one day during a mission that he had ended up helping you out with the kids you regularly took a detour to visit and hang out with, always bringing stuff from your missions — it was super cute honestly😭
⌗  he is a pretty family oriented guy tbh and totally seems like malewife material?? cooks for the kids, cleans up too, patches up them up if they get injured and tells stories to put them to sleep!! he’s doing it all, guys!
⌗  he wants to lessen your load as much as he can but you seem to have things pretty much under control and the kids are just so chill with you — it’s impressive honestly, he might need a tip or two for handling zack..
⌗  he was telling a story one time — about the buster sword, actually, and as attentive as the kids were, even you since it was your first time hearing, you’d ended up fast asleep along with the kids — it was the cutest sight seeing them curled up against you
⌗  games aside, you do try to teach the kids norms and values to keep with them and angeal also throws in a few words about dreams.. honor.. etcetera..
⌗  a few days later the kids ended up making cardboard and wooden cutouts of the buster sword and repeated his words along with the gesture — yourself included..🫣
