It was reading through some DP x DC prompts and someone mentioned King Shark and it produced a thought.
The JL summoning Phantom because people are being attacked by The Ghost Shark from that one Syfy movie.
I just imagined Aquaman trying to communicate with the shark to get it to stop and getting the ghostly equivalent of go fuck yourself. Cut to them summoning Phantom and asking him if he can stop the shark. They expect him to talk to it, but instead he just body slams and soups it

ghost sharks have long tapering bodies and incredibly large heads. their skin ranges in color from black to pale blue to brownish grey and is quite smooth. they have large eyes, oversized nostrils, and large, visible teeth, which give them a rabbit-like appearance, though within their mouths are three tooth plates.
ghost sharks have mineralized tooth plates. they use these teeth to crush mollusks and worms, making for an interesting diet.
ghost sharks primarily caught as bycatch. while their meat is edible, the majority of their commercial value comes from their livers, which contain an oil known as squalene that's used in a wide variety of cosmetic and pharmaceutical products.

GHOST OF THE TRENCH
••
Deep in the cold, lightless depths, past the Sea Kingdom and beyond the known continent, lives a ghost. None have ever seen them beyond a flash of colorless scales or a warning light from far away, but they fear this ghost of a dragon. How could anything live so far away from life, where the crushing depths and sucking cold would end any dragon? This ghost is often used in scoldings for rowdy dragonets.
ANYWAY hewwo welcome to a thing I might try out as a warm up!! Gonna do some personalized adopts with brief backstories (that can be changed ofc, including making it non wings of fire) because i Love making Characters :3

The narrownose chimaera (Harriotta raleighana) also know as the ghost shark or the spook fish is a longnose chimaera of the family Rhinochimaeridae which is native throughout temperate oceans worldwide and is typically found at depths of between 650ft (200m) and 10,200 (3,100m). Longnose chimaeras are members of the class Chondrichthyes, diverging from their closest relatives (sharks, rays, and skates) during the devonian period approximately 400 million years ago. Not much is known about there deep sea life style but they appear to feed upon crustaceans, worms, small fish, mollusks, and enchinoderms. They are themselves preyed upon by large sharks, boney fish, and large predatory squids & octopus.  Female narrownose chimera are typically larger reaching around 4.9ft (1.5m) compared to males which reach around 3.3 (1m) in length. Both sexes sport elongate rostra, slender filamentous tails, large pectoral and pelvic fins, big eyes, and two dorsal fins, the first being preceded by a mildly poisonous spine. They can range in color from pale marbeled brown to dusty grey to ghostly white or a mixture of those colors. Like many other Chondrichthyes, longnose chimaeras reproduce by laying eggs. Egg cases consist of a central chamber surrounded by a web-like structure. Female longnose chimaeras lay a pair of eggs several times per year.

🦈 Daily Shark Fact: 🦈
Chimera Shark or Ghost Shark is not an actual shark. They resemble sharks in some ways including internal fertilization of females and electroreception to find prey. However, they also differ with retractable sexual appendages on the forehead, gill covers akin to bony fish, and they are without a sharks razor sharp rows of replaceable teeth.

Spotted ratfish!
Tumblr media
They have a venomous spine at the front of their dorsal fin, which they’ll use to defend themselves! They get their name from their long, thin tail, which can be nearly half of their body length.
