thats it!!!! im finishing my maria and ellie-centric fic next because its ALL about ellie choosing to live in the shed/garage instead of with joel so that she can have more physical and emotional space to explore her feelings about joel lying to her, and finally being able to have a space to HERSELF that is HERS from the ground up

like i get yall not liking joel and ellie living apart (which is kinda funny to me because as far as i understand shes like four seconds away), but in thinking of ellie as an individual, i can only imagine how cool it mustve been for her to finally have a space completely to herself. FEDRA kids all shared rooms, so if she ever did live alone, it was only because riley passed. the bedroom she gets in joel’s house is cute, but its also not ellie’s: it has all the decor and furniture from another kid, another time. even if we take all that out, the house isn’t theirs; it technically belongs to the community of jackson. if joel ever passed or if jackson got way too crowded, ellie would likely have to leave that house anyway so that someone else could move in

that shed/garage though???? all ellie’s. assuming joel and tommy completely refurbished an old garage, i doubt anyone’s ever lived in there. imagine how fucking cool and special that must be for ellie, to be the first to live in and occupy a space, to take up space. to live and celebrate that life to the fullest. frankly it makes me emotional, especially because i know the hopeless, self-loathing type of depression that comes with survivors guilt. the very least ellie deserves is a place she can completely call her own, that she can fully manage on her own.

i get that ellie’s young—living collectively or with joel definitely has its own benefits—but she’s also an extremely traumatized and sensitive fifteen-year-old who has had her agency stripped away from her for her entire life. the biggest sense of agency she had was being in control of her life in regards to her immunity, and joel is the one took from her (again, rightfully). she’s right to have feelings about it and i honestly think giving the two physical space from each other would’ve worked had things gone a lil differently

Just a random out of nowhere question, with Peter making different tec pieces for all the different baddies to help make their lives easier would he make some sort of cooling system for Rhino? Like something to keep him from over heating to much, he probably misses being able to enjoy a summer day or being able work out with out the threat of over heating?

OOOHHH I like this idea. Imma steal it for future plot. then rhino can do more stuff in his downtime, rather than worry about overheating all the time.

Rhino also needs to move into a reinforced apartment. with special floorboards and stuff. I just... keep getting side plotted tbh.
