ik i said i wouldn't engage in petty discourse but im feeling evil 2day so
i will never forgive how much everyone shit on that song "girls" by rita ora et al. bc no way yall heard a song BY QUEER WOMEN abt being queer women n went "idk man... kinda lesbophobic" babe what? god forbid bi women express themselves and have fun w it
do yk how fucking cool that song was to hear when i was i was finding out that maybe i might have been bi? just 4 queer women havin fun w identity? and the fact that rita ora fucking APOLOGIZED for making that song which she described as "written to represent [her] truth and is an accurate account of a very real and honest experience in [her] life" is kinda fucking appalling. ik this is old news and this song came out in like 2018 but uh. still smth i think abt lol?

what's so clever about Clara Bow is that when she references her own name at the end, she's not talking about the present but the future, quoting the inevitable way people are going to one day talk about her, imagining it will only be in regards to the woma(e)n who surpass her. because there will be someone who surpasses her, eventually. that's the cycle of fame, isn't it? we're simultaneously captivated by the alluring trick of the past while looking for the next big thing. we compare current stars to the lights that shined before them, "you look like taylor swift." but we're also constantly waiting for someone new and greater to take the crown and captivate us anew, "you've got edge she never did." And half the song is about acknowledging that being revered is hell on earth for the people who are in it, because you're always trapped between what came before and what will come after. you're only safe insofar as you remain shiny. But the real beauty of the song is that it never succumbs to this dichotomy, but embraces it. It's Taylor acknowledging she wouldn't be who she is were it not for the women who came before her, who shared the same dreams, and recognizing her place in the chain of the women who will come after. The future's bright, dazzling.

How to Become an It Girl
βElegance is the only beauty that never fades.β
- Audrey Hepburn
Manners and Body Language! Legs are together, arms close to body, head high. Of course, I canβt forget good posture. No matter your body language, always make sure your posture is good. Manners are just as equally important. A simple, excuse me, please, thank you, pardon me, makes such a big difference!
Signature everything! Signature jewelry, perfume, color, bag, hairstyle, EVERYTHING you can think of. Make your own iconic look. When people see you, they know that you own that look. Everything, about it says ME!
Take care of your health and focus on you! Health is wealth!! Take care of your body, mind, soul, heart, skin, hair, nails, teeth, etc. Focusing on yourself will change your life, I PROMISE. I recommend you watch self development videos/youtubers. Just like, TheWizardLiz, Tam Kaur, Simonesquared, Persephonesmind, etc.
4. Look presentable/make a strong first impression! I will never forget when Song Jia first walked in on the island in Singles Inferno. Her hair was done, nails, outfit looked fresh, makeup was done. Not to mention, she walked in with confidence, a smile, good posture and stayed to herself. She carried herself so well. She greeted everyone with a beautiful smile and graceful bow.
βHappy girls are the prettiestβ - Audrey Hepburn
5. Stay true to yourself! Treat yourself with love. If youβre looking for someone to feel your void, fill it yourself. Learn to love everything about you, even your imperfections. Appreciate the little things in life, like dancing in your room alone, your grwms, picking out your outfit, the trees, sky, laying in your bed, living life. Celebrate your life everyday.
