Suddenly struck by the idea of Hunter figuring out she's trans in the princess Luz AU. Presumably sometime after Belos is dead and that isn't hanging over her and she finally has just the tiniest hit of space to breathe to figure it out.

Can see Amity being helpful here in terms of figuring things out, either by bring trans herself or one of the twins was (they're identical twins so one of them has to be, I usually HC Em)

Then Hunter coming to Luz with a "deep personal revelation Amity helped her with she needs to know about" followed by immense internal panic for her followed by relief that no, it's not the Grimwalker thing, just a girl shaped surprise, no need to panic. The horrible secrets are safe.

Hello, average Tumblr user, I'm Brisa, and I'm here to bring you a non-sophisticated piece of writing.

Personally, I like to write, and today while I was rereading some of those short writings, I decided I wanted to share one with you.

I want to emphasize that I am using a translator because I personally do not speak or write English, and any corrections or recommendations are welcome. Thank you for your time

Summary: Hunter and Y/N go through another miscarriage.

All characters are aged

Warnings: miscarriage, guilt, angst.

"So...what's going on?" Eda leaned on the island counter on her elbows, looking at Hunter.

"Pffft, What? Nothing happens" Hunter smiled fakely.

"Kid, I raised many children, I raised Y/N, King, I took care of Luz and you. Do you think I can't tell when someone lies to me? Plus...it shows in your eyes..." Eda grimaced a little and looked at Hunter waiting for a response. The grimwalker just looked at the table, sighed, took a quick look at the kitchen entrance, as Luz and the children were laughing in the living room, then he looked back at the counter and murmured in a low voice.

"It happened again." They were silent for a moment, Eda didn't understand what Hunter meant.

"The reason Y/N called you was because she was in the hospital" Hunter looked up and looked Eda in the eyes, then the truth hit her.

"Another miscarriage right?" Hunter nodded.

“Where is Y/N? Is she still in the hospital?" Eda asked worried.

"She said she wanted time alone. She...was blaming herself again." Hunter sighed heavily. "She even blamed herself for leaving before you answered the call."

"Ah...shit..." Eda looked down and then looked up at Hunter, who was looking at the counter with his fingers tangled in his hair. The old lady looked worried at the man and walked up to his side.

"Hunter, what's wrong?" Hunter shook his head and sighed, shakily.

"Nothing...nothing" The blonde ran his hands over his face and rested his fists against his mouth, biting them.

"Kiddo…" Hunter shook his head again, this time with tears in his eyes and pursing his lips.

"It's okay...tell me what's wrong..." Eda rubbed the boy's back.

"I...can't...i dunno...i dunno"

"Hunter, you should talk to Y/N about it, you know she would listen to you, if you te..."

"No, no, i can't...i can't tell her..." Hunter interrupted Eda, while covering his face. "I always thought about being a father, I never imagined going this far...two children, and the idea of ​​having more, I like it, but... I don't want to continue going through this. Seeing her like this, it hurts me, it hurts me every time it happens, I don't know if I can continue and now... Another one..." Hunter shook his head, crying.

FINALLY. THE REASON WHY I MADE THIS SIDE BLOG. HER.

Been having a TON of brainrot from TOH again and my old mlp next gen habits kicked in sooooo... yeag

More ab her under the cut bc WOOOO BOY i have SO MANY THOUGHTS ON HER

So! I think I should begin with just the fact that she is, for lack of a better term, a anomaly. Grimwalkers have never been recorded to reproduce- on top of her being a weird mixture of not really human and not really witch... Uncanny valley for both species yk?

Hunter and Luz were in their mid-20s when Luz got pregnant with Lunala,, which was a shock for both. More Hunter than Luz lmao she was cruising. At the time the two had just started up a cultural exchange of sorts with the human realm so on top of the stress of new baby... yeah it was a time.. Doesn't help that halfway through Luz's body was like- smth,, smth aint right and so while not on bedrest, she did have to tone down her activities and now, with medicine advancing, many theorize that the left over Titan magic in her is the only reason she survived.

Then out popped Lunala! Lil freak of a girl. Hunter cussed out the fact hes a clone bc bby girl gots her wack goofy ahh cousin(?)s blue eyes- Phillips last F u lol- the yellow from Mama only started coming out when she turned 4-ish. On top of that, she got the staple four digits with pawpads all Grimwalkers have and EXTREMELY horrible equilibrium and thermoregulating ability. She is bundled up 24/7 and cant walk without her cane. Messed up gal.

Due to the irregularities of magic during her formation her bile sac cannot filter magic properly- some days she'll be equal to a fully grown witch and others she'll be bedbound due to her own bile sac essentially leaking the excess out of her when a usual one would get rid of the "used up" magic via normal ways- another reason why she uses her cane. On top of this, the excess magic (if she hasn't used any in a while) starts to drip out of her mouth, being almost acidic. A fine line she has to walk between literally spewing acid and being poisoned by her own body. She survives tho! Also her teeth too big for her gotdamn mouth,, queen of braces

BUT OH HO HO. THIS DOES NOT STOP HER FROM BEING A LIL CREECHER. A GOOFBALL. A MENACE. She looks /TERRIFYING/ when happy/scheming but genuinely means well- taking her Mama's words to heart- "It becomes bullying when no one but yourself is having fun" and essentially tries to make others laugh/be in a good mood,, unfortunately a lot of people find her to be unnerving- only really finding a few good friends in Ophelia- Willow and Amity's adopted daughter-, King, Collector, and a school friend Ricardo- a human on the Boiling Isles via the cultural exchange program.

Outside of other's around her age, she gets along with her parents and family wonderfully! Lunala can be very quiet when she wants too and has found a particular gift for essentially reading people and being able to help them- magical therapist if you will. On top of exploring the human realm with her Auntie Vee (Who has become a cross country explorer and nature conservationist), she has a hell of a time helping her Dad practice for his games or his most recent pailsman carving, or helping her Mama document the entirety of the Boiling Isles or be a proof reader for her Mama's books. Fun stuff!

Her pailsman- Manny- is named after Luz's dad, after seeing pictures her Abuela left out. Manny and Lunala are two peas in a pod- with both being seen as unnerving. On top of that, Manny being a King Cobra gives a slight hint to Lunala's... less than spectacular anger. She doesn't get angry often but when she does her bile sac works overtime with the amount of adrenaline she gets from her anger, which, of course, leads to the acidic overspill and very... unsightly view.

As she gets older, and learns to control her anger more, she'll become a terrifying politician both in the Boiling Isles and in the human realm and hobbyist child psychologist.

eventually au - Idle thought but I don't think the Martlet's mask is literal gold. Actually I don't think the GG mask is literal gold either because gold is a stupid metal to make a big protective mask out of, it's too soft. I figure it's either just gold-plated or it's some kind of alloy or special metal unique to the Boiling Isles that has a golden color.

But I don't think the martlet mask is metal at all, cuz like. How would Jasper even make it? He has no magic, and as far as we know he has neither the smithing skills nor the equipment needed to make a metal mask like that. And he trusts no one so I really doubt he had someone else make it for him.

But we do know that Jasper is good at woodcarving. He carved the palistrom wood every time he tried to make another grimwalker. Belos even told him he was good at it, and even though Belos is a liar I'm inclined to trust him here because it's hinted that Caleb was good at carving and Belos is constantly measuring his grimwalkers against Caleb. Saying that a grimwalker is good at woodcarving (implying like my brother to the reader) isn't idle praise.

So I kinda think the martlet mask is wood that Jasper carved and sanded smooth and did a lot of detail work on because he's BORED and then he got ahold of a bucket of gold paint somewhere and just slathered it all over that thing.

Also it's just more situationally practical, cuz like, wood is easy to come by, and woodcarving on this scale doesn't require a whole dedicated area like a forge, and sure it's not as sturdy as metal but it'd be pretty easy for Jasper to make a few backup masks to have in case his current one gets lost or cracked or vaporized by some asshole trying to kill his son.

(There is something poetic about the idea of Jasper taking a GG mask from the pit and refashioning it into the Martlet's mask but on a practical level I just don't see it happening.)

HMMMMMMMM many thoughts

I do actually think Belos is stupid and dramatic enough to make a mask out of literal gold. This IS also magic town and they could probably make like infinite gold that's probably worthless and we also know they can enchant stuff. A fabric cloak can be armour and deflect spell attacks. So... I do actually wanna say GG masks are literally gold

BUT Jasper's really can't be. Not with what's available to him. If he had his old GG mask I could say maybe he melted it down for Dramatic Purpose but. He left it behind.

Actually on that note. Wouldnt it be terrible if THAT specific mask got handed down to hunter lol

I'd love it if jasper carved his mask out of wood though. Caleb carved Philip his little mask and God knows Belos would HATE it that jasper is out here carving masks too. Fake Brother I Made Who Sucks

A/n: Both Hunter and the reader were in the emperor's coven. Also, Y/n is a grimwalker made by Belos but isn't a grimwalker of Celab. It doesn't really matter who they are a grimwalker of though.

After Belos was defeated life seemed to be better. Belos Was gone and the Boiling Isles could heal! But a lot of Belos's secrets were released to the public. One of which is that you were a grimwalker. Not many people paid mind to it. But God was it the only thing you thought about. While your friend. tried to comfort you by saying they didn't care. But how couldn't they? You had just become friends with the hexsqaud. One of the first big things they learned about you is the fact that you're a grimwalker, that couldn't be a good look. Especially you being a grimwalker of someone Belos liked.

But there was also inward disdain. The person you were based on wasn't well documented. So unlike Celab who at least seemed to turn around in the end, your original person could have been a horrible person until the end. And (assuming the person you're based on is a bad person) there really is no way to win. Either you fulfill your purpose and be a villain, or you don't fulfill your purpose but be a good person.

It might seem like an obvious answer. Be a good person! So what if you're not doing what you're "supposed" to do? But can you even be proud of yourself if you're not who you're supposed to be? You are one of the few people who even know your purpose. So who are you to deny it?

You slowly started to shut out your friends. A way to lessen the hurt. But when it came to Hunter, I think it hurt you more to shut him out. He was your only support system in the Emperor's Coven. The only person in the hexsquad you had a really deep relationship with. But that just makes him the most important to cut off... Right?

While you were trying to plot out what to do you heard a knock at your door. You got up and opened the door. Standing in your doorway was Hunter. " Oh, hi Hunter. What do you want?" You tried to add a harshness to your voice at the end. " I just want to talk. May I come in?" "You may." "Thank you," Hunter said as he entered your room. "What would you like to discuss?" "Your recent behavior." You tensed. "What about it?" You asked already knowing the answer. "It's very clear you're trying to seclude yourself. Are you feeling okay?"

You bit the inside of your cheek trying to think of an answer. "I'm fine. I'm just thinking about things." "Such as?" You scrunched up your nose. "Why are you pressing so hard?" "I'm just concerned." You sighed, "It's nothing." Hunter paused. "I do mean to come off as pushy but suddenly not talking to anyone isn't "nothing." "Please not pushing." You said sternly. "Why are you dodging the question so much?" "Why do you care about me so much!?" You yelled and then covered your mouth with your hands.

Hunter looked at you with wide concerned eyes. "I- um- Hunter I just-" You tried to speak but the words wouldn't form. Hunter walked over to you and spread his arms offering you a hug. You got up and quickly accepted it. "Are you ready to talk?"Hunter asked. You slowly nodded.

You explained to him how you were feeling about your relationship with you being a grimwalker. "I'm so sorry you had to deal with that, why didn't you tell us?" "I didn't think you'd care, or maybe you'd think I was evil..." Hunter thought about what to say for a few minutes. "I thought people would hate me for being a grimwalker for a while as well. But nobody seemed to care about it, even after they had time to really think about it. We aren't who we were based off of. Belos wasn't a good person so why should we try to impress him." "Yeah... Yeah! Thanks, for the help." You said leaning into him. "But that was super corny." "It worked though didn't it?"

Shadow's Reach, Ch 12

Chapter 12 of Shadow's Reach is finally up!

There's simultaneously a lot of trauma unpacking and very little current events going on in this chapter. Including my take on palistrom lore and palisman carving. I thank / blame @threegoblinart for her beautiful palisman carving art:

There's also a line thrown in Ch 12 that's a nod to @imperfection-you-will-find's references to the C-PTSD memoir What My Bones Know by journalist Stephanie Foo (which I have not read, but greatly enjoy @imperfection-you-will-find's discussions of).

And, because I think @childlikegoblinqueen would appreciate it: The song running through my head when I write Hunter's thoughts on the other Grimwalkers is Talk by Coldplay. The sci-fi vibes of the music video are a bonus (a little outdated for Cosmic Frontier/Star Trek, but I think Hunter would get a kick out of it anyway).

As we get to the bottom of the stuff that's been building in Sweet Child O' Mine, there are one or two threads I am going to leave open for a possible follow up.

One is hinted at in this next chapter and has been hinted at before.

Most of the things that will be wrapped up will be:

The Baby. She will be born. Her name will be revealed.

The Identity of the False Golden Guard.

What the Collector was talking about.

What Darius had been up to.

And one or two things I won't say right out because they are spoilers.

If I do a follow up there will be some LORE -- and baby cuteness.

The working title in my mind is "So Long and there are Stars Above You." But that's subject to change!

Also ... Hunter, the Coven Heads are NOT FRIENDS!

“Titan, my younger self would hate who I am right now.”  Darius covered his face with his hands.  “I know what you mean.” Hunter mumbled. 

Both true! And for different reasons.

A few readers have speculated that Darius is in a bad position and never wanted any of what's happened -- and that's a fair assessment.

He rose in the Coven System under his mentor who was a grimwalker, murdered by Belos.

He ascended to Coven Head and asked his mentor's murderer for revenge against his mentor's murderer.

He failed his mentor by dismissing Hunter as a child and standing by while he was abused.

He failed Hunter by not being an adequate guardian during the trials.

And he took a high ranking position in the government where he had "good intentions" but was required to be ruthless due to the nature of his job.

But Darius really thought he could reign in the worst of Kikimora's qualities.

On the other hand, he appointed Severine as Secretary of Defense (Steve didn't want that position) and likely knew that she wasn't the strongest candidate. Now Severine is being charged with doing terrible things and Hunter insists she couldn't have.

So does Darius truly believe that Severine is guilty or is this his spy pokerface?

No beta reader. The idea of finding one and then giving my fic to specifically one person and no one else scares me. I run some of my original stuff through a workshop at my writer's circle, though

Hmmmmm definitely a lot of "the important thing is to be better than you used to be" from me. A lot of "learning to be loved and to trust." Huge fan of "collapsing against another person" also, and I love "running away from/struggling against people who are trying to help you while injured due to mistrust/general confusion from injury"

Gonna go ahead and say Gilded has been the wildest ride, mostly because of the show throwing absolute bangers like "getting an infection from Belos goop getting in an open wound is canon now" and "there's another grimwalker to rescue" at me that have ended up swapping trajectories. Oh, and me deciding to completely revamp Petro, that was a fun change

Hunter x reader angst

here is my new story part one will be on Wattpad as well on here. there is a bit of angst tehe. (lots of thanks to Robin my editor)

I've known Belos my whole life. He picked me up two-hundred years ago. I was trained to be the golden guard protector and on my 16th birthday he put a spell on me to guarantee I won't age. I've seen him make grim walker, after grim walker, after grimwalker. They got their first staff after the false memories were put in. Most of them had a snobby privileged attitude. There were some that were bearable. Then there was one. So sweet and inviting I couldn’t help but to like him. It was platonic at first when we read together. But the more missions we went on together and the more we talked, I grew more attached. They kept looking at me with that stupid, dumb, sweet smile. Asking how my day is going, or why I'm sad. And they knew me so well, what kind of drinks I like, my favourite ink for my quill even. One night they came in after I had a nightmare and… hugged me. I actually felt safe being held. “You are such an idiot, you should be sleeping instead of being here with me.” I told them, to which they responded with “And you're a dumbass for pretending to hate this, don't forget, I can read you like a book.” I snuggled into his chest. It was one of the most peaceful moments of my life. Along with my first kiss. It was magical no spell could match. When the cape was redesigned he let me keep his old one. I commented on his smell and it became a running joke where I would run up behind him and aggressively sniff his neck which made him giggle every time. All of those memories that were beautiful I will never get back. It was so sudden. I could have stopped him. I wasn't able to convince him. “Hey, I'm gonna run in and give him my report.” he says. “Wait.” “What do you want to kiss first?” “No, well yes but, I need you to wait a few minutes.” “Awe you think you'll miss me.” he smiled that stupid smile. If he sees the collector, Belos might- “No, you need to wait.” He didn't listen, he never does. He walked in. I watched as Belos forced him down with vines and stabbed him in the chest. That's where the Galderstone is. I turned away as I heard screaming then silence, I covered my mouth, I felt tear drops trickle down. I couldn't utter a word. “You should have kept him out. I liked that one.” Belos doesn’t look at me. As my arms went to my sides all I could do was nod and cry. We were right on both accounts. But all I can think of is that dumb, sweet smile. I still hold onto his cape today under my pillow.

a headcanon i really like is that since hunter is a grimwalker and made with stonesleeper lungs, he has the stonesleeper trait of liking to be scratched behind the ears lol. would love to see a oneshot about that ^^

You had been sitting on the couch watching tv until midnight with Hunter. It was almost 11, and you wanted to go to bed. You weren't very tired yet, but you were going to get there soon enough. You could feel your eyes drooping as your head fell back against the couch, and your gaze settled on Hunter. He was sleeping peacefully on his side in front of you.

It had been a while since you and the others found out that he was a grimwalker. However no one treated him differently, you continued to flick through channels and decided to turn off the tv. Making a mental note to find a good show to watch later.

The night before you and Hunter had decided on something else, however as usual Hunter insisted that you choose what you wanted to do. You knew belos’s actions had left an imprint on Hunter, always asking what you wanted to do and never what he wanted to do.

You let out a sigh, throwing your head back on the couch as Hunter continued to snore. ‘Hm, if I remember correctly..Hunter has the trait of a stonesleeper’, you thought to yourself. Without realizing you had brought your hand to the back of his cut ear.

As you did, your mind traveled back to the first time you saw Hunter for the first time, when you had been fighting him to free the palismen. “So…how did you get those scars? Never seen anything like them.” “You humans talk a lot, don’t you?', he said completely ignoring what you asked.

You couldn’t help but scratch the back of his elf like ears. They were so cute. You watched as Hunter shuffled around a bit, you decided to pull the blanket more over him. As you went on with scratching the back of ear, you watched how it twitched just from scratching.

A soft sound of content escaped Hunter's lips and you felt butterflies in your stomach. The smile came naturally, and you couldn't stop yourself. If you could describe his actions when being scratched, it was almost cat-like.

You couldn't stop rubbing his ears until you got tired. It didn't take long for you to finally stop, but you made sure not to wake him. Leaving you to your thoughts, ‘grimwalker or not, his reactions are everything when sleeping’. You rubbed the under of his eyes, he really needs to sleep more. ‘Maybe I should teach him some skincare’, you thought thinking how it would be a nice way to bond together.

You squeezed him slightly before placing a kiss on his ear, only for it to twitch and turn a shade of red. You pulled back and laughed softly, he was so adorable, even after having been asleep for an hour. You leaned down and kissed his cheek gently and then gotten comfortable, only to wrap an arm around his waist. ‘Goodnight’, you whispered before drifting off to sleep.
