🏰 I think he would have really missed his family. Especially because of the fact that he was forced to leave them all when he was so little.

🏰 He can get incredibly homesick to the point of not being able to eat or leave his bed unless he’s eventually forced. He was really close to his mother and siblings, and even if he likes his cousins and aunts and uncles in Oldtown, he misses his real family.

🏰 When he’s not homesick, he can usually be seen partaking in hobbies such as racing horses with his companions in Oldtown, or trying to train Tessarion into doing tricks in the air.

🏰 He likes to take nighttime rides with Tessarion as much as possible. He uses that time to get away from the politics of his family.

🏰 He takes his training rather seriously. He can usually be spotted in the training yard for hours and hours out of the day until he’s told to leave and eat something. Aemond sends him a lot of letters about his training, and Daeron wants to be like his older brother.

🏰 He collects all of the letters that he gets from back at home and saves them all. He likes to read them all after his dinner. He enjoys his mothers neat handwriting, and giggles at Aegon’s scratchy handwriting.

🏰 In his room, he has several different things that Helaena has made for him. Some of them can be hung on the walls and from the ceiling, while others are pillows with little bugs on them that he hugs each night when sleeping.

Modern…

🧺 Daeron had been on the soccer team at his school for years now. He loves the energy of the game, and he also loves to look over to see his whole family shaking signs of embarrassing pictures of him that say “Go Daeron!!!”

🧺 He has a habit of doubting, or comparing himself to others. But Aegon, who’s about to go pro for soccer, will always get him out of his head. It seems that his elder, and shorter, brother always knows what to do when it comes to helping Daeron feel better.

🧺 This is usually through having the twins force Daeron to play with them, playing a game of soccer in the backyard with Aemond and Aegon, or helping Helaena with her new recipe. He also likes to help his mom garden on the weekends.

🧺 Besides soccer, Daeron loves to garden. There’s something about it that he finds to be incredibly calming. And when he gardens with his mom, it’s even better. The two are usually sporting two beat up ball caps, gloves and arms covered in dirt, and smiles on their faces as music streams from the porch.

🧺 Daeron would never be able to decide what his music taste is. His family is full of music lovers, who also happen to have almost completely different styles of music taste. And being the youngest, he was subjected to all of it growing up. His mom likes classic rock, Aegon likes country, Helaena likes pop and sometimes classical, and Aemond to everyone’s surprise likes rap but also classical.

🧺 Daeron enjoys being able to watch the twins when Aegon and Helaena need a break or a night out. He lets them watch all of their favorite movies and have a sugar overload. His mom isn’t to happy about Daeron letting the twins run around the house with chocolate all over them. But she usually just flicks him behind the ear and takes the twins up for a bath.

🧺 While it’s just Daeron and his mom living at home, it doesn’t mean that the house is ever empty. Aemond with usually stay for a couple days sometimes because he doesn’t want to be alone in his apartment, and Aegon and Helaena are over every single day. The twins love the backyard.

🧺 Daeron, through the teasing of his friends, has not been on a date yet. He’s tried, but the idea of being alone with another person that isn’t his family or friend rather scares him. Don’t get him wrong, he loves meeting new people, but it’s difficult to have a dinner with someone when it’s expected that you’ll be romantically involved somehow afterwards.

🧺 He’s obsessed with reality shows and watches them whenever he can.

🧺 His style is rather hectic when the seasons change. When it’s hot out he’s just trying to survive with shorts, shirts, and hats. But when it’s cold he’s bundled up to the max with sweaters and coats that will keep him warm.

<> He loves to eat. Like all the time. He loves all different kinds of foods and he gets really happy with Helaena will let him taste one of her new recipes.

<> Because of that, he’s a pretty good cook.

<> He begged Alicent to get a cat when he was younger, but then the cat had babies. Alicent and Daeron didn’t want to get rid of them, so the house is just full of cats. They also have one dog that loves the cats.

<> Aemond and Aegon taught him how to drive with Aemond in the front telling him where to turn and Aegon in the back yelling to be careful.

<> He failed his first drivers test and Alicent was the one to teach him how to drive after that. He passed the second time.

Bonus for canon!

<> He loves to find different bugs and tell Helaena all about them. She writes back and tells him about what bug he’s found and how to handle and take care of the creature.

<> Alicent sends him bedtime stories and he reads them before bed each night.

<> He has some trouble expressing how he feels and finding the words he wants, so when trying to express his point, it might take him a while.

<> He wears green all the time, with blues and purples mixed in.

<> He’s very good with kids and he can usually get them to stop crying.

they told you that you’d “make a fine warrior one day”

and then yall got attacked by a ????? a what??? a destroyer???????

you were still nearby and saw thor become thor again

after he was done fighting the destroyer, you ran to give him a hug

then you didn’t see him for 2 years

which upset your mom a good bit, you had to help her through that episode. lots of sitting on the couch and eating ice cream together talking about how he wasn’t worth her time even tho you missed him too

but he came back! and then your mom sent everything flying bc she had an “infinity stone” inside her and thor took you two to asgard

“y/n! you’ve grown so much, i almost didn’t recognize you!” -thor

tbh you really digged the outfit they gave you, but also you were on another planet? thor insisted on giving you a tour (by flying you around)

worrying about your mom simultaneously bc you overheard she was sick

but asgard got attacked and you and jane were confined to a room in the palace, which sucked because you wanted to see it all

but thor sent guards to bring you anything to keep you entertained

after several events that count as child endangerment, this chapter came to an end and your mom and thor finally made it official

loki called you a rodent and then saved your life so you were kinda iffy about him

about a year or two later, your mom had to travel a great deal in order to get some work done, so you were left in the care of thor, who took you to avengers tower

“oh, my girlfriend’s child is an angel! and they’re so intelligent, just like their mother!” -thor gushing to other partygoers

“yeah, thor, your ‘angel’ is sneaking drinks from the elderly” -tony

*sipping his beer* “they’re a growing teenager”

you did have an amazing time interacting with the avengers

and once they tried grabbing the hammer, you knew you had to get in on it (but you failed like the rest)

“don’t worry, my y/n, you have to be eighteen years of age to be able to lift mjölnir!” -thor

“oh, that makes sense!” -you, while thor aggressively shakes his head at the other avengers. he just wanted to make sure you didn’t feel bad you weren’t worthy yet :(

thor went off world and your mom split it off w him but you did have his email so you were still in contact with him

swearing you saw odin on the street once or twice (fast forward)

and then your mom dusted and thor found you as soon as he possibly could, it was so good to see him

he took you in since you were alone now, you moved to new asgard and became prince(ss) of the new land by relation?? makes sense right

basically you and valkyrie made all the calls while thor grieved for years

but he still took care of you

“y/n, would you like to play video games with me? i think it may be a good bonding experience, what do you say?” -thor

“duh!”

uncle korg made you help him with fortnite while thor was asleep

you wished to wield stormbreaker one day

showing thor earth media! his favorite star wars character is r2-d2 dont ask why

he taught you asgardian recipes and you taught him...earth recipes?

when he was drunk he’d ramble on about his childhood and battle and enemies and jane and loki and hela and frigga and literally anything that came to mind

“y/n, could you please get me a beer? and get one for yourself, too” -thor

valkyrie most definitely gave you some battle training so you you blow off some steam, you were glad she taught you how to fight like a true warrior

thor wanted to teach you battle tactics so you could fight alongside him, but he never got around to it

a raccoon and bruce banner visited later on, proposing a way to get your family back, thor was an emotional wreck

his debriefing on the reality stone was tense when he started crying about your mom and everyone stared at you

“hey, don’t look at me. i don’t control the god, i just keep him company”

ending up waiting 1 second for the avengers to come back from their mission, resulting in you being stuck in the middle of a very heavy battle

“y/n, get out of here!” -thor

“don’t worry, thor! valkyrie taught me a few moves!”

“i’m not so little anymore, am i?”

victory, but at what cost? it was a rough ride, you needed to get patched up, but your mom was finally home and thor...he decided it was time to leave earth again

you straight up wanted to bawl your eyes out right there

Thanks so much! I hope this is what you're after. Sorry it got away from me! :)

The morning? Well it's a race to see who's up first! Sam, Sarah, Bucky, the boys? It could be any of them.

Sarah is always up early prepping breakfast and lunches before she heads out for the day to make her catch. Now that they go through periods of chartering the boat, she has more free time to develop her pop up eatery and catering business. If she's not on the water, she's in the kitchen. But the food gig is growing fast and she's now renting an industrial kitchen. On weekdays, she gets the boys ready and sends them off to school. On weekends, she's probably enlisted them to help out or sent them off on activities or with relatives/friends while she works. There aren't exactly days off when you're a small business woman. After much protesting, she has finally allowed Sam and Bucky to help with breakfast and lunches and school runs. It's still hard for her to accept help, after so many years doing everything solo. Sarah also doesn't tell them about her hip hop ballet class with her bestie/ex-girlfriend Tatianna. Leave her some mystery.

Sam is also an early bird (get it? get it?). If he's not convinced Sarah that he can handle making breakfast and lunch, he's out on his morning run. If he's not out saving the world on a mission, he's enjoying his down time in NOLA to train. He tries to spend a few days a week in Delacroix and misses it when he's gone too long, but being Cap is more than a full time job. When the stress is too much, when someone has made some rotten comment he has to be too good to acknowledge, Delacroix is healing water for his soul. When he comes home, he is loved. The whole town couldn't be prouder of little Sammie Wilson, Paul and Darlene's youngest. They don't mind sassing him when they remember some of his more reckless years as a teenager or the sons whose hearts he may have broken. Sometimes he takes the boys to school, in part because he likes the attention the fawning kids and teachers give him and in part because he loves his nephews and wants to ensure they're well liked. Bullies gonna know their uncle is Captain America. When he had his heart at home, what did it matter what those other people thought?

AJ and Cass vary between being up at an ungodly early hour to sneak in a snack or video games and sleeping in until Sarah has to drag them out with foot tickles. Cass, being older, tends to be the mastermind of their schemes which have included surprising Sarah with every variety of small creature living in the bayou and coercing babysitters into extra screen time. He's bright and protective of his little brother. Cass had to be the man of the house at a very young age, after all, and he took this self-imposed responsibility very seriously by making sure AJ is ready for school on time and helps with setting the table.

AJ has more energy than a cranky gator and was promptly enrolled in martial arts to get his extra energy out so he could focus at school. He tends to do better with his hands, an engineering spirit. If there's something to build, he's on it. Uncle Bucky tends to be their favorite person to cajole into Lego sets, which Bucky can't stop buying for them and Sarah had to warn him off spoiling her children with expensive gifts - especially because the kids were telling him all about the newest gaming systems they would simply DIE if they did not own. Sam already directed them back to their mother because he knows better.

Bucky gets up early, disappears, and returns at a later time. He likes the mysterious vibe he gives off, but mostly he's seeing a therapist in NOLA who told him he needs to develop hobbies. And he would rather die than let Sam know he's taken up swing dancing, amongst other things. Also he has his own apartment in Delacroix, which he sometimes visits. What else is he doing? That's private (and Captain America).

In the evenings?

Everyone is tired after a long day, but that doesn't stop family dinner from being an important part of the Wilson family structure. Whenever they're all together, the boys set the table while Sarah and Sam cook. Sarah is teaching Bucky a thing or two about Southern cooking (another hobby). Sam and Sarah have a heated debate over the best brand of Louisiana hot sauce and though the Lord taught Sarah not to judge, Sam is wrong about his love of Tabasco over Crystal. Bucky says he likes both because he likes peace these days.

After dinner, they try to spend some dedicated family time. Clean up is a joint affair with everyone playing a role. Chores are treated as a family activity - everyone works together to keep their home happy - and are done together whenever possible. Plus video games are often a reward so y'know. The boys have been catching Sam and Bucky up on all the video games they've missed over the last 5 (and more) years.

But they often resort to card games, dominos, checkers and chess because Bucky gets strangely nostalgic about it around the boys and maybe because he keeps losing spades to the old men at the docks and Sam is uncertain he'll ever 1) win 2) admit defeat. Sam takes it upon himself to educate the boys on the finer points of soul and jazz. Live performances are a big weekend Wilson family activity; not hard to find in NOLA. (But Sam mosts wants to take the boys to an air show where they can see the fighter jets fly in formation and eat bad fair food. Sam secretly wants to lead one.)

It's a toss up who enjoys reading more, Sam or Bucky, but the one activity Sam doesn't let Bucky partake in is reading to the boys at night. He knows it sounds stupid, but he did it when they were babies and now that they're grown, it helps him feel like he's getting those years back. Also he doesn't want Bucky to hear the (perfect) voices he makes for each character.

The adults might drink and shoot the shit on the porch until even the bugs want them to go back inside.

How would The First user react of seeing his child after his s/o gave birth and how would he be with his s/o during pregnancy and then how would he be with his baby. To say that Shigaraki [f/n] is nervous, is an understatement. She’s only been married for nine years to her husband Shigaraki Yuichi and now she is pregnant. And someone people may say that nine years of marriage is the prefect time to be having kids. But [f/n] doesn't think so. Also having a child is a lot of responsibility that not everyone is ready for. 

“Okay little one, how am I going to tell you daddy?” [f/n] wonders to herself as she stands before the mirror of the bathroom. 

“Hey, [f/n] are you okay in there?” Asks her long time friend Shimura Nana. 

“Yeah, be out in a minute.” [f/n] says taking a deep breath. 

[f/n] steps out of the bathroom to see Nana waiting for her in the hall. Nana takes one look at [f/n] before she gasps excitedly. Quickly, [f/n] covers Nana’s mouth. 

“Not a word.” [f/n] snaps in a whisper. 

“Okay, okay.” Nana whispers softly. “How long?”

“About a week. I had been feeling sick and then I went to the doctors early this morning.”

“By yourself?” 

“Yep.” 

“How are you going to tell him?”

“Not sure yet. But just dont say anything okay.” [f/n] begs. 

“Okay.” Nana nods. 

[f/n] smiles softly as she and Nana enter the living room. Yuichi is out with the boys of their friend group; Ganji Nishizaka, Wakaba Sans, Hikage Shinomori, Banjo Daigoro, and Okada Ruko. Apparently it was Daigoro’s idea to have a “guys’ day” and let the girls have time to themselves since they are surrounded by men. And the others agreed since it sounded nice. 

“What do you think the boys are doing?” Nana asks. 

“Probably at a bar.”

“Poor Shinomori then. He’s probably being forced to pretend he’s someone’s man.” 

“You know he enjoys doing that.” [f/n] giggles. 

“Yeah but still. Eventually he’s gonna snap and someone’s going to get sent to the hospital and press charges.” 

“Doubt that. But I get what you’re saying.” 

{A few hours later}

Nana leaves a few minutes before Yuichi returns. Thankfully Yuichi isn’t drunk but there is a huge smile on his face as he sees [f/n]. He wraps his arms around her forcing her into a long hug. 

“And what has gotten into you?”

“Missed you.” He says. 

“Did you?”

“You didnt miss me?” He asks pretending to be hurt.

[f/n] rolls her [e/c] eyes and says, “Of course I did.” 

Yuichi smiles and leans in for a tender kiss. [f/n] smiles into the kiss as she relaxes into his arms. Yuichi slowly pulls away breaking the kiss and stares into [f/n]’s eyes for a moment. 

“So, how was your day with Nana?”

“It was good. We just had tea and talked. What did you boys end up doing.” 

“Daigoro thought it be fun to take us to new club that opened up. We spent about twenty minutes trying to get Roku inside because he didnt look like he was old enough to go in as far as the bouncer was concerned.” Yuichi explains getting [f/n] to laugh. 

“Oh poor Ruko.” [f/n] laughs imagining just how pissed Ruko was and Daigoro, Sans, and Nishizaka laughing their asses off.

“You never did tell me where you went earlier today.” Yuichi says becoming serious. 

“Well, I didnt want to worry you. I went to doctors to figure out what was wrong with me. I should have the tests back by the end of the week.” [f/n] lies trying not to bite her lip. 

She hates lying to her husband. But for now, until she figures out a way to tell him, she is gonna have to. 

{A few days later}

“You still haven’t told him!?” Nana demands over the phone. 

“Nana, quiet down.” [f/n] begs. “It’s not easy. I thought you of all people would understand.” 

“I do. Which is why you should just tell him. You and I both know Yuichi will be happy knowing he is going to be a father.” Nana says. 

“Yeah, yeah I know.” [f/n] sighs. 

“You could always ask Shinomori for advice. I mean that’s how I told my husband I was pregnant by going to him.” Nana explains. 

“I guess it wouldn’t hurt.” [f/n] nods. 

After ended the call with Nana, [f/n] calls Shinomori. 

“Hello?” His deep voice resonates from the other line. 

“Hey Shinomori, it’s me [f/n]. I need your advice on something.” 

“Sure. What you need?”

“Well...the thing is...”

“You’re pregnant aren’t you?”

“Yeah, been for two weeks now.”

“And you haven’t told Yuichi yet?”

“No, which is why I’m calling you. Nana told me that you helped her tell her husband.” 

“I did. With Yuichi, I think the easiest way to tell him is buy a baby outfit that looks like his favorite hero.” 

“That could work. Thanks, Shinomori.”

“No problem. Happy I could help.”

“Also, I have to know, how are you still not married yet? Seriously you’d make a great husband for someone.” 

“I am aware, but I dont think marriage is for me.”

“I understand that, but when was the last time you went on a date or got laid for that matter.”

“Oh, god now your sounding like Daigoro.”

“Hey that’s a valid question as a cornered friend who sees you as a older brother.” 

“Much appreciated and I do see you as a sister. Good luck telling Yuichi.” 

“Thanks Shinomori.” 

{The next day}

Finding the baby outfit of Yuichi’s favorite hero was easy. Now all she has to put is put in a place he’ll find it. That’s when [f/n] recalls that Yuichi has adult onesie of his favorite hero that he wears every once and while. She finds that onesie and lays it and the baby outfit on the bed. She also adds the test from the doctors to confirm it. With that done, all she needs to do now is wait. 

Yuichi comes home from work a hour later. He greets [f/n] like he normally does with a smile, a kiss, and a hug. After which he heads into the bedroom to change and get comfortable. 

Watching him head into their room, she waits for his reaction. Hearing footsteps she looks to see him come back into the kitchen holding the onesie with tears in his eyes. 

“A-A-Are we really?” 

“We are.” [f/n] nods with a smile. 

Yuichi breaks down into tears as he grabs [f/n] into a hug and swings her around. He laughs while she yelps. He plants a kiss on her lips completely overwhelmed in joy. 

{Telling the others}

“YES!” Daigoro cheers. “More children for us to spoil!” 

“About time.” Nishizaka shrugs. 

“Finally mini Yuichis!” Sans jokes. 

“What about mini [f/n]s?” Asks Roku. 

“You’ll both be great parents.” Shinomori says with a smile. 

“Agreed. Picked our the godparents yet?” Nana asks. 

“Shinomori and you for sure.” [f/n] says.

“HAHA Yes!” Nana cheers. 

“I’d be honored.” 

“Hey a kid can have more than two godparents.” Daigoro says a bit hurt he wasn't chosen. 

“You’re the fun uncle remember?” Asks Ruko.

“Oh right.” Daigoro smiles.  

{During the pregnancy}

[f/n] is surprised how much Yuichi involves himself in the pregnancy. Like, WOW, he is involved. He reads a lot of parenting books and researches tons of baby stuff. He brings up a few things he’s learned with [f/n] to see if she might be willing to try them. It’s a little endearing, but [f/n] doesn’t mind. She knows that he is just excited and nervous. 

Also Yuichi has been handling her hormones, carvings, and mood swings pretty well. Of course, [f/n] can’t help but think he might be venting to Shinomori or Nana’s husband to help get through it. And if he is, well [f/n] can’t blame him. 

There is also the fact that Yuichi has taken over getting the baby’s room ready. They still dont know the gender because they want it to be a surprise. 

“H-Hey, Yuichi can you rub my feet?” [f/n] asks as they sit on the couch. 

“Sure.” Yuichi says moving toward her feet. 

“Thank you.” [f/n] says beginning to fall asleep.

“You’re welcome my love.” Yuichi says leaning to plant a kiss on [f/n]’s cheek. 

{When the baby is born}

Needless to say, [f/n] thought she broke Yuichi’s hand during the birth. However she is pleasantly surprised to find that she didn’t. Of course Yuichi admits that her grip did hurt. Holding their, newly born son, [f/n] tries to hold the tears back. 

Their son has his father’s hair, green eyes, but your [s/c] skin and your mother’s oddly symmetrical freckles.

“What do you want to name him?” [f/n] asks Yuichi. 

“Hmm...Izuku.” Yuichi says. 

“After your grandfather?”

“Yep.” 

“Alright then. Shigaraki Izuku it is.”

549,737! But that averages out to only 2271 words per story, haha. You got me! I think I have less than 10 fics that have more than 1 chapter. I love one-shots, what can I say?

How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?

Oh, you want to get into this? All right. We'll get into this:

The X-Files, proto-fandom, ur-fandom, first OTP ever... yeah, 15-year-old me went. WILD. Many horrible Mulder/Scully stories, and some Doggett/Scully and character study stories as well. Mostly not very good, but with occasional flashes of decent writing. Really had a difficult time writing romantic feelings between 30+ year-olds given a) I did not date in high school and b) was 17 and not an emotionally stunted FBI agent.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer - not a huge volume of stories, but definitely some very angsty Spuffy and Spike tales.

Harry Potter - just one published fic (Lupin grieving Sirius), and one with Snape and Harry having a heart to heart I could never quite get right.

Then came the dark times (vet school) where I was exhausted and hard at work for a few years and I thought, horribly, I might have outgrown fandom. Thank god for...

1. The Invitation, The Mandalorian. Din Djarin finds himself in dreams that seem realer than real, reminding him of his loss, but he begins to find a sense of hope again. A promise is kept.

2. The Outstretched Hand, The Mandalorian. Din Djarin is a man of action, but sometimes, the quiet finds its way in. Din reckons with the aftermath of the events of Chapter 14, the Tragedy. (My very first Mando fic!)

3. Not the Sentimental Type, Steven Universe. Priyanka Maheswaran has long prided herself on keeping her emotions in check. But a mother's love can only grow, and sometimes it expands to people she never anticipated. Like the Universe boy.

4. Translation, The Mandalorian. Din Djarin was a man of few words, but many languages. Some might have thought the Child had no language at all. Din Djarin and the Child grow to understand each other.

5. Full Disclosure, Steven Universe. Just as the world begins to recover from Spinel's attack, Steven starts having nightmares. The more he ignores his fears, the worse they become, until he's left with no other choice but to ask for help. (My thoughts on what would drive Steven Universe Future, and I wasn't far off.)

The Viscount's Way shows Varric Tethras having become his parent, and a cruel, hard viscount of Kirkwall.

Songs in the Key of Red shows how Cullen fared under the dark future in Redcliffe in DAI, and they write happy endings, don't they? shows what happened to Varric. Both horribly depressing in different ways!

Two by Two, Hands of Blue shows a not unexpected end to lyrium addiction :( Poor Cullen, he got a lot of angsty developments, didn't he?

Never really got into crossovers or AUs. Just... meh for me!

Charles/Erik, Shepard/Garrus, Shepard/Liara, Shepard/Tali, a mess of different f/f femShep drabbles, and most of my Dragon Age pairings have gotten sexytimes. On the other hand I helped start the NoRomo Mando tag for the Mandalorian to help find non-pairing Mandalorian content. Depends on the pairing and the fandom, for sure.

What’s your all-time favorite ship?

ALL-TIME? Just, why? So many ships I loved in years past turned out to have pretty damn problematic elements I didn't see at the time, so it's hard to say... Mulder/Scully actually has a ton of issues, Buffy/Spike obviously has issues... so maybe Hawke/Varric (except not canon!) or Garrus/Shepard or Brosca/Alistair.

Still need to finish my Hawke/Varric fic for after Adamant! I have 3 chapters written that I haven't posted. Maybe posting them will help inspire me....

What are your writing strengths?

Dialogue and POV writing from different characters; I feel fantastic writing Steven and Greg, though totally at sea trying to write from Connie's POV, randomly. But I think my dialogue and emotional beats are what people tend to tune in for. When I do write romance, it's usually very sweet and silly and pulled from life. I also love writing nature scenes and settings to help establish mood. Mood and emotion and catharsis are my bread and butter, and I like my poetic prose.

What are your writing weaknesses?

What the hell is a long, well-thought-out plot? Like what even is that???? My longest fic with 30 chapters is basically "Shepard has PTSD and hangs out with her crew. They have some funerals." THAT'S IT. How the heck people actually come up with plot that ties into the lore of a fandom I genuinely have no idea and it's the biggest thing that's held me back from finishing original work. I can come up with a setting and characters and then trying to make them do stuff that's more than just talking to other characters and deepening their relationships with them... how the fuck???

I also definitely have 10-20 words that I am in constant danger of reusing like every other paragraph, LOL!

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

I don't speak any other languages so I always avoid it as much as possible. I've seen people describe sign differently in fics and picked one way to depict it that made sense to me for Grogu, but that's about it.

What was the first fandom you wrote for?

The X-Files, of course!

What’s your favorite fic you’ve ever written?

Towards Another Day, the tale of how Cullen went from being a templar in Kirkwall to commander of the Inquisition, is definitely up there.

Reverberations is one of my rare multi-chaptered fics and one of my favorite for the catharsis at the end. It makes me tear up every time. 5 times Din and Grogu encounter the Dark Side, and one time they find the Light.

Either a world for the birds (Steven develops a closer relationship with his Uncle Andy, learning birdwatching along the way) or on the subject of rocks (Steven and Jasper finally reach a peace) might take the prize for favorite SU fic.

I... am not going to make promises, but I may have to. I want something very specific and that never bodes well for me. I doubt it would be more than a one-shot, but there are multiple scenes that could have occurred between episodes that would flesh out what was there (and of course I’d cut the final 15 seconds of the show, much like another epilogue I loathe and ignore)

I’m going to put azula at the top. not because she’s a good person obviously but she’s FULL. OF. HITS. every time she’s on the screen the narrative gets immediately more interesting. she’s savvy and self-assured and I love it. her ending depressed me although I like that it was kind of about the loss of her two best friends? if that had been more of a focus I think I would have enjoyed it more but yeah, losing mai and ty lee could have been rightfully devastating. who among us is not totally obliterated by friend breakups. I also really loved uncle iroh; if anything that’s why I wasn’t invested in zuko’s storyline until close to the end, because watching him disappoint his uncle was very difficult (I get it, he’s a teenager, he’s growing and evolving and whatnot, but also I am closer to being his uncle than to being him so like, yeah). I also hope the peter pan revenge guy (JET that’s his name, sorry pregnancy kills my brain cells) did hook up with both katara and zuko. I love that journey for all three of them. I wanted more time with mai than we got, so there wasn’t quite enough there to love... but I was very down with ty lee interfering on her behalf. what a pivotal moment

of the core characters I think I was quickest to love sokka; the episode where he apologizes to suki and asks her to train him cemented it for me. I think it’s a big deal to show boys apologizing on-screen and owning their misconceptions. I like katara a lot—she’s what a lot of people do with fanon hermione. toph is also great, and part of me feels there is a strong basis for a ship with aang that balances their opposing energy, though I also like the idea of them being platonic besties. aang is... twelve. pretty much every time he was on the screen mr blake (a teacher) was like “man, aang is such a seventh grader,” so it was nice how convincing that was for his emotional journey, but at the same time it was hard to forget he was in seventh grade. appa and momo are STARS. I am sure I have mentioned this before but mr blake really loves animals and he was devastated by appa’s kidnapping; he hugged our dog for about ten minutes after aang found appa. after he decided I was zuko, he speculated that he is closest to aang but he’s not happy about it lol. “ugh, aang and I are such boring pacifists” was I believe his take on the subject

yeah, I think it really sucks that katara, as the emotionally nurturing character, felt shoved into the role of love interest. it’s everything wrong with the distribution of emotional labor in male-female relationships but sure, WHATEVER, apparently nobody thought to ask me in 2008

@gaeleria: THANK YOU!!! Ugh omg that “I’m confused” kiss scene made me actively hate the ending. I knew ahead of time they were endgame, so I tried to make myself accept it early on. Like, I really didn’t like the pairing, but I wasn’t going to be emotionally invested in the romance and it was just going to be like, whatevs. AND THEN THEY WROTE THAT SCENE??! 1000% no. What was even the point of that scene? If they had written it to make Aang have some introspection and realize it’s not all about him, Katara’s feelings matter too, or even apologize, or anything… but no, there was literally no point to that scene. No character growth, it was never mentioned again. Ugh.

this is in answer to both you and beloved @zabbini: yeah this was a fuck-up for sure lol. I think it may come down to editing for time; the series is very irregularly paced, what with the majority of the action taking place in the final three episodes of a 16 episode season. or maybe it’s just because MEN CAN’T BE TRUSTED TO WRITE ROMANCE but either way yeah this was a real misstep and just truly, truly reeked of a particular (white) male attitude about how women think and what they owe. had a bad day, dudes? buy a gun, kiss your forever girl, do whatever you want and it’s fine! (I’m exaggerating but barely)

in terms of what’s so angering for me: a character like katara who previously had tons of agency was robbed of it when it came to her romantic arc, which is just really upsetting. and to be fair, I was equally upset when zuko instantly agreed to the agni kai with azula because it was like okay well katara’s extremely valuable, as you know, but now you want her to just sit on the sidelines...? (more of a story flaw than a relationship flaw, but my chest sunk a little at the idea that katara was going to sit by and watch as an accessory to zuko’s story when she’s a crucial weapon in their collective fight. what a waste, right?) 

it’s also especially hard to buy into the aang thing when zuko’s method of problem-solving on katara’s behalf is there for comparison. he asks her what she needs in order to find closure and then from there, does everything necessary to get it without having to be asked twice. versus aang, who is a twelve-year-old pair of rogue lips who never wins any of his fights without the aid of phenomenal cosmic powers...? ugh I’m getting off track but in the end there’s just a complete lack of understanding what female audiences want, though again, I don’t think they were really considering that at all. which I guess is... fair, it’s not the point of the show, but then why make the ending romantic at all? to show that their brand of hero gets everything he wants, I guess

in conclusion in 2008 I’m not sure the industry was capable of doing better, which sucks but isn’t surprising. still, it does fit the components of “stuff I write fics for,” which is I enjoyed most of it but find myself enraged by slivers I compulsively need to fix—WHICH IS STILL NOT A PROMISE but ugh I can already feel myself giving in

But, joking aside, they’re Morrowind characters. I do like Skyrim, but Morrowind is my favorite game of all time and the entire reason I got into the TES fandom years ago. I don’t talk about it much on here because everyone is here for Half-Life and HRV, but... you know what? I’mma take this opportunity. To yell.

About The Guys(tm).

So, basically, in my Personal Canon, I don’t just have a Nerevarine (i.e. Protagonist) character. I have an entire crew of people who help him get through things because it just seems... more realistic for my Extremely Flawed and Terrible Nerevarine. Also, I just had a lot of characters conjured up as a teenager and it was fun to evolve it over time so they’re all friends.

They are, as follows:

- Jo’Karsa (a.k.a. “Karsaga”). Battlemage born under the Atronach. Afflicted with Wombburn. Also the Nerevarine. He’s an abnormally large Cathay-raht who has had an unusual upbringing. He was originally an orphan plucked off the streets in Corinthe and trafficked to Morrowind where he was sold as a slave. As fate would have it, a houseman under his owner took a shine to him and stole him away when they fled to Cyrodiil to avoid political assassination. Karsaga has been raised Telvanni in Imperial territory so, despite being a mighty brute of a Khajiit, he has an extreme affinity for magic and an equally extreme disconnect from his Khajiiti roots.

He speaks like a Dunmer, carries himself like a Dunmer, and has very Telvanni sensibilities. He also has an extensive criminal record from his time spent as a bandit outside of Cheydinhal, and that is eventually how he ends up on the prison boat that sends him to Morrowind. He has a bunch of aliases and an unhealthy penchant for drink and smoke. Not a fan of skooma, though. As gruff and sarcastic as he is, he has a very silver tongue and a way of winning people over and talking himself out of trouble.

Also, “youth born under a certain sign?” Nah, this bitch is 34. And smells like a wet dog.

- Dasrazel. Altmer Nightblade and Quarra vampire. He contracted his vampiric curse while trying to save his lover from the clutches of an undead menace during the Second Era, after a life working various quasilegal oddjobs that brought shame on his noble family. In life, he was a likeable but lowkey individual, and in undeath he’s still very lowkey... but perhaps not as likeable. He has to take a low dose of a calming potion to keep the inherent, violent bloodlust of his Quarra curse at bay, and it does a lot to deaden his emotions. Combine that with hundreds of years to learn how to not give a fuck, and you have a very blunt, stoic, matter-of-fact creature who only very occasionally makes quips and usually just wants to be left alone.

He is Karsaga’s closest ally, right hand man, and platonic soulmate. They met after Karsaga robbed him blind at a bar (thinking him to just be some weird, frail elf), and Dasrazel took pity on him after Karsaga ran him through with an iron saber and panicked when it... did nothing. Their bond is one of a mutual distaste for most people and Dasrazel’s desire to have companionship again.

They’re very much bros, even if Dasrazel spends most of his time not understanding why Karsaga is the way he is.

-  Neira Brenur. Dunmer Witchhunter and low-ranking member of House Redoran. She’s the daughter of a Camonna Tong member and an Ashlander woman, though her mother is dead and she spends a lot of time trying to distance herself from her racist father. She joined Redoran in hopes of atoning for the crime of just being born into a bad family, but has a really difficult time fitting in. She’s very meek and empathetic and does better in controlled duels than actual combat. The idea of actually hurting an opponent makes her sick to her stomach.

She kind of just happened to Karsaga one day, courtesy of him running afoul of her not-so-popular friend, Vandrith (we’ll get to that trainwreck later). She mainly acts as a translator for Vandrith and tries to play mediator when Karsaga starts getting too aggressive with others. She’s in good with some odd folks in Redoran and a very aggressive supporter of the Tribunal Temple, which makes it hard for her to wrap her mind around Karsaga’s existence as the Nerevarine.

Also, the fact she’s an absolute pushover means she just accepts the less-than-savory people Karsaga pals around with. She’s got a big heart and feels actual pity for his blasphemous, undead, and criminal friends. They’re good people on the inside (probably).

- Vandrith Valen. Dunmer Ordinator and conglomeration of a lot of factors coming together in the worst way possible. He is naturally “blessed by Azura” and has some degree of prophetic power, though he’s choked it down after a life of being raised Indoril. He also came to the unfortunate realization after being stationed on Vvardenfell, that he is also a descendant of House Dagoth and is haunted by the Poison Song, a “song” sent out by Dagoth Ur that warps the minds of those who are of his blood and turns them into Sleepers and Dreamers.

These two traits do not mesh well and make Vandrith more than a little unstable.

Vandrith is... prone to erratic behavior and violent outbursts and is largely under the care of his paternal uncle, Tuls Valen, the head priest of the Ald’ruhn Temple. Vandrith is also a clever and tricky bastard who has been trying to figure out how to discern Dagoth Ur’s plans from the Poison Song in order to prevent bad things from happening. Usually, he can keep things under control, but extremely bad visions, close proximity to items/places corrupted by House Dagoth, and stress can cause him to be difficult.

Beyond this, though, he’s not what you’d expect from an Ordinator. He’s very witty with a somewhat bawdy sense of humor, a very devil-may-care attitude, and he’s a huge fan of causing mischief. He forced his way into Karsaga’s social circle due to his absolute certainty that Karsaga could bring down Dagoth Ur, and Neira is his closest (and for a long time only) friend, who has figured out what all of his weird ramblings mean.

- Bashinga. Sorceress and Aundae vampire. She is an old acquaintance of Dasrazel’s who has ties to Telvanni, the Mage’s Guild, and several circles of warlocks and witches. She’s very much a self-serving sort, more interested in the acquisition of power than the wellbeing of Morrowind, but she is fiercely protective of the people she deems worthy (and she has a soft spot for Neira she can’t really explain).

Once upon a time, she was a dancer and performer with a traveling circus, and her fall into undeath and wizardry was a happy accident after being taken as cattle by rogue Aundae. She’s got a good set of vocal cords and can move with grace and ease, but she speaks very bitterly a lot of the time and is difficult to get along with.

She’s one of those people who Karsaga immediately took a shine to because they both like to sit around and bitch about people. Dasrazel and Bashinga mostly get along by the time-honored tradition of “two very gay individuals being catty at each other as a sign of affection, though outsiders would think they hate one another.”

- Jai Swift-Fly. Cathay assassin and member of the Morag Tong. She was born and raised in Elsweyr in a more tribal environment, and is an old friend of Vandrith’s (odd, considering they met because she took a grey writ to knock him off and, instead, he knocked her out). She mostly comes into the fold because Karsaga needed somebody to break into the Ministry of Truth to free Mehra Milo, and she came highly recommended (by Vandrith; Vandrith recommended her). 

She’s a married mother of two, is big and strong and very proud of being big and strong, and a crack shot with a bow. She’s also deaf as hell and communicates through a series of homebrew gestures. Her decision to stick around and help Karsaga after completing the job she was hired to do stems primarily from her extreme curiosity. She has no stake in the Nerevarine Prophecy or this group of losers, but by god does she want to see what it looks like when a god dies.

Fun fact: Jai is dead by the events of Skyrim, but two of her descendants remain. Shevah and J’Rakka. They’re a brother-and-sister duo. Shevah is as much of a curious, troublemaking adventurer as her so-many-greats grandmother. J’Rakka is a werewolf who mostly hunts bounties to make a living.

- Dravyn Telvayn (no picture of him, sorry D:). Dunmer assassin and member of the Morag Tong. Former highwayman and current Berne vampire. Husband of Jai and perpetually confused, mainly over the fact he has kids with Jai and... well, every book he’s read has indicated that that should be impossible for a variety of reasons. He lives in the sewers of the Arena canton in Vivec City and is allowed work in the Morag Tong due to his efficacy at eliminating very high risk targets, though he’s basically “on his own” if he ever gets caught. They’re sure as fuck not giving him writs of execution to present to guards when the Tong could end up fucked over if their relationship with a vampire gets out.

He’s mostly in the background and tags along due to his extreme dedication to Jai. He doesn’t get along with hardly anyone but her, though he is the one who coined the term “Council of Accidents” in relation to him, Dasrazel, and Bashinga. He feels a loose kinship with them in that they’re all members of different vampire clans, but all members whose sires want nothing to do with them, rendering them outcasts. Even after the events of Morrowind, he keeps in infrequent contact with the others. 

After Jai’s death, he acts as a weird “ancestral guardian” to his own descendants. As of the time of Skyrim, he spends most of his time trying to keep Shevah from getting killed. He is very tired. She is a lot.

To say Gilgamesh loves his family with all of his heart is quite possibly the biggest understatement anyone can ever mention. To him, his family were Gods among Gods - his parents were his idols even into his adult years, and his son was nothing more than his pride & joy. Truly, no matter what the situation is, Gilgamesh can talk for hours about how amazing his family members are. Granted, you have people like his aunt, Ishtar - but, he has good things to say about her as well. 

No matter who you ask that knows Gilgamesh, they will describe him to be among the greatest sons and greatest fathers - perhaps he was not always the Great Wise King of Uruk, but he has always been the greatest in those two titles. There is a certain change to his tone of voice when speaking to or about his family, his voice becomes softer - gentler. He even takes to smiling more often, something only someone like Ritsuka has been able to bring about.

When it comes to his parents, there is no favorite Ninsun. He loves them both equally, for different reasons - but he would never be able to say who was the best to him. They’re both far too important to him to play favorites, so he will instead praise their various lovable qualities.

Another thing to note is that should anyone speak poorly about his father, his mother, or his son - they will instantly answer to the King’s wrath. He will tolerate no insult intended for either of them, and whether the person lives for such insolence depends on how apologetic they are. Gilgamesh will see through any lie that’s to save face, and if anyone should try faking an apology, they will simply be met with an even harsher punishment than planned.

As said before, he feels strongly about his family; and he feels strongly for each of them. Fret not, mongrels - you are about to learn.

NINSUN.

Gilgamesh has nothing but love for his mother. She is practically his equivalent to a guardian angel; he knows she and Shamash always watched over him, and he also spoke with her daily - though that turned into weekly when he took his role as King more serious. Though he wasn’t always able to directly speak with her, he knew she was always listening when he called to her - and she would always respond from the heavens. 

In his youth, Ninsun was physically involved with his life more often. He vividly remembers holding her hand as a child and praising to all in Uruk how his mother was the most beautiful woman in all of Babylonia - even in the heavens. He remembers how such comments made her smile, and how he’d always say such things solely for that very smile. It was warm, filled with nothing but kindness.

One of Gilgamesh’s first acts as King was to ban the digestion and slaughter of cattle because of his mother’s patronage to them. Cows were then officially deemed as sacred animals, and if someone were to kill a cow without permission, they were punished based on the cow’s age. If it was an elder cow, they are starved for a week - and if it was a calf, they were put to death in return. 

Though his mother was a kindhearted woman, she was still a Goddess - thus, when she angered (although rare), her wrath terrified him much more than Gugalanna ever could. She scolded him in his later years for the way he treated his people, and for the first time, he felt as if he had failed her. This was later rekindled and they obviously still share the strongest of bonds, but the fact stands that his mother is one of few beings who can spark fear in him.

Gilgamesh, though he tries to not play favorites, IS a mother’s boy. He often goes out of his way to do things in her name in order to make her proud. Examples range from creating a second temple dedicated to her to simply spreading word of her kindness to Uruk and getting its people to pray to her.

He gets his more “wild” side from her, and not his father. Of course, that side of him is truly only brought out when Enkidu is around given Enkidu’s upbringing - but the fact still stands, his mother is much more feral than Lugalbanda could ever be. She simply knows how to keep that side of her secretive.

No matter what has happened in his life, one thing that never changed was the adoration he felt for his mother. That fact remains even in Chaldea, and will never change whatsoever. 

LUGALBANDA.

Gilgamesh’s father is the very first person Gilgamesh respected (if you do not count his mother, of course). Lugalbanda ruled Uruk for 1,200 years until Gilgamesh was born. Of course, Gilgamesh did not immediately take after his father in ruling - Uruk was ruled by Dumuzid the Fisherman while Lugalbanda raised his newborn son alongside Ninsun.

Gilgamesh recalls his younger years with his father as trying, because Lugalbanda taught him what was necessary for Kingship - this included hours upon hours of tireless work, sleepless nights and physical labor (personally requested by Gilgamesh, because he had the dream of being the best King that Uruk would have as a boy).

However, the Shepherd also allowed Gilgamesh free time more often than not - resulting in Gilgamesh’s cockiness in not taking certain things seriously (such as his Archer self in the Fifth Holy Grail War). This wasn’t necessarily Lugalbanda’s fault, because as much as he wanted his son to be a great King - he also wanted him to enjoy his childhood for as long as he can.

Similarly to his mother, Gilgamesh holds nothing but love for his father. The man did everything in his power to carve a path for him, and he taught him everything he could and more with the knowledge he learned in that 1,200 year rule. If one were to insult Lugalbanda, they would face Gilgamesh’s wrath just like they would if they were to insult his mother - however, there was a different case with Lugalbanda compared to Ninsun.

Unlike Ninsun, Lugalbanda was much more human than God - and the only truly divine thing about Lugalbanda was his age. But to Gilgamesh? His father was more than that - his father was his personal God. In his rule, Gilgamesh demanded that his father be referred to as a God - thus earning Lugalbanda the nickname of “Holy Lugalbanda”. Because of how Gilgamesh felt about his father, though a lesser deity, a divine temple was made dedicated to Lugalbanda - making him much more than just a Shepherd, or a past King of Uruk. 

Lugalbanda was now officially viewed as a God by even the people of Uruk, not just Gilgamesh. Though, clearly his #1 patron would be his son.

UR-NUNGAL.

Surprisingly, Ur-Nungal is the only known child of Gilgamesh. Though, he would not have it any other way as he spoils Ur just as Ninsun spoiled him when he was a boy. It is thanks to his parents who were phenomenal in raising him, that he could raise the greatest son he could ever ask for. He passed the courage that he learned from his father, and the kindness that he learned from his mother, unto Ur-Nungal.

Ur-Nungal was an infant when the seven day famine plagued Uruk before Ishtar brought down Gugalanna - he likely would have died before he was a year old. However, Gilgamesh sacrificed the little rations that were meant for him - each of those seven days, for his son. He was certain that Ur would die if he didn’t do such a thing. Thankfully, the famine passed - but the Bull of Heaven descended onto Uruk under Ishtar’s command. 

Unfortunately, Enkidu passed not long after repelling Gugalanna - so Ur was not able to get to know the man who would be his uncle. But, that didn’t stop Gilgamesh from telling tales of Enkidu - the Wild Man; telling about the time they defeated Humbaba, and their first meeting - how they battled one another and laughed as they were equals. Seeing Ur smile whenever he told those stories - he knew Ur would look to Enkidu just as he looked to Lugalbanda.

Embarking on his journey to the Underworld was difficult, but only because he needed to bid a temporary goodbye to his son. However, something Gilgamesh realized when the Herb of Immortality was eaten by the snake - being immortal was a fool’s wish. There came far too many consequences with living forever, one of which was watching those you care about pass on. He did not want to live longer than his son, no parent should.

So - from the day he returned, he raised Ur-Nungal and showed him what he was taught when it came to Kingship. Except, Gilgamesh wanted Ur to be just like him - but better. When Ur was older, Gilgamesh took time out of his routine to help Ur with the labor he couldn’t handle on his own - the most memorable was a temple dedicated to Enki that the two of them built together, nobody else but them. 

Gilgamesh is incredibly proud of the man Ur-Nungal became. His kindness reminisced his grandmother, and his smile was similar in warmth. Although his time came, Gilgamesh was at peace knowing Uruk was in the hands of a great successor - perhaps Ur was not an expert in proper Kingship like he originally hoped, but the way he made the people of Uruk happy was more than enough for him to know that everything would be alright.

Ur-Nungal is his pride & joy, worth more than any treasure in the world - he always would be.

ISHTAR.

And finally, Ishtar - though she is his aunt, they have never once shared a familial relationship. They were more akin to rivals, of sorts. However, just because he shares no familial bond with her does not mean there isn’t a bond between them - it’s just complex. 

Some think that Gilgamesh should hate Ishtar for the death of Enkidu, but in truth, that isn’t entirely her fault - she attempted to have the Gods punish him with death for the killing of Gugalanna, but because he was far too important, they chose Enkidu due to what had already happened with Enkidu. He never blamed Ishtar for that incident, because she has no authority in the end when it came to those types of decisions - it was the higher council he directed his hate to which led to the end of the Age of Gods. 

For a time, Gilgamesh did harbor anger for Ishtar - but she redeemed herself by personally crafting a wooden basket with various trinkets inside as her form of apology. This was accepted, clearly, as Gilgamesh cherished the items given by Ishtar dearly - and when he lost the items in the Underworld, he was temporarily upset knowing he would be unable to retrieve them.

Later on in his life, Gilgamesh could not fault Ishtar for her anger - perhaps for the measures she took, but not the reasoning she was deeply frustrated. He was not aware of the past she held, of the reasons tragedy fell upon her lovers - he was most especially unaware at what was done to her in the Underworld and Tammuz’ theft of her throne.

Most of all, he neglected to realize that he was engaged to her already. Upon one of their original meetings, she gifted to him the bed he slept on until his final breath - handcrafted by Ishtar herself. Such a gesture, in their time, was seen as a proposal. So, their falling out was caused by both of them, not just Ishtar as many think.

Regardless of their past and how they interact now, he respects the Goddess of War. He feels as if too many people forget that there is more to Ishtar than love or fertility. Surprisingly, it’s rare for Ishtar to engage in sexual activity - at least, rarer than people think.

He also knows that she’s played a critical role in Uruk’s upbringing, as it was once and still is the city she looks after most. Uruk is her city just a much as it is his, even if he never vocally acknowledges that.

All in all, though he may bicker with the Goddess - he respects her a great amount. She has done far more for Uruk than many think, and she has suffered her own ordeals of hardship even as powerful as she is. Yet, she kept striving to show the people her kindness even after they knew her wrath - she was not malevolent in any way, and (at least for Uruk) wished the greater good of the people.

outside  of  family ,  robb  has  become  an  inspiring  politician .    going  into  school  he  thought  it  was  what  he  wanted  to  do .    he  was  smart   &   seemingly  naturally  good  at  it  so  why  shouldn’t  he ?      he  was  offered  a  political  job  not  long  after  school   &   thought  that  was  all  he  ever  wanted .    except  it  wasn’t .   though  born  with  the  talent  for  politics ,  robb  grew  tired  of  it .    the  only  thing  he  found  he  had  was  happy  to  have  gotten  out  of  politics  was  meeting  his  close  friend :  padmé  amidala ,  a  girl  who ,  though  she  buried  herself  in  her  work ,  robb  began  to  harbor  feelings  for  over  time .    he  had  quietly  planned  to  leave  politics  peacefully   &   go  back  to  school  to  pursue  a  job  in  veterinary  work  when  suddenly  it  happened .    his  face  on  posters .   supporters  flocking  to  him .   before  he  truly  knew  what  was  happening ,  due  to  his  name  being  tossed  into  an  idea  for  candidates ,  robb  found  himself  unwillingly  in  the  race  for  mayor .

though  he  could  drop  out , robb  knows  deep  down  he  could  manage  being  mayor ,  possibly  more  than  the  other  candidates  in  his  opinion .    he  doesn’t  want  the  title ,  but  he  also  doesn’t  want  to  give  it  to  his  opponents  like  a  gift .   he’d  rather  put  his  support  behind  someone  he  trusts  in  his  place  which  is  why ,  since  she’s  helping  with  his  campaign ,  he  asks  padmé  to  run  in  his  place  any  chance  he  gets .   if  nothing  changes ,  though ,  then  he ,  to  his  sister’s  amusement ,  has  become  the  public’s  favorite  candidate .     a  woe  he  completely  complains  about  to  one  of  his  young  campaign  assistants ,  sabrina  spellman ,  when  he’s  not  teasing  her  over  her  puppy  love  crush  on  a  certain  librarian  like  a  big  brother  would .

Ice-Castle (Birthday fic)

"Look, uncle Gray, I just built an ice castle." Gray attempted to look interested once the excited little girl came running towards him.

Her bright pink hair; styled in pigtails; flowed with the wind; as did her light blue dress. She was truly a beautiful child, but that wasn't surprising considering who her parents were.

"That's great, Ur." The ice mage gave a tight smile.

When Lyon had asked him for a big favor a few hours before, Gray hadn't imagined it might involve babysitting his 5 years old niece.

When he had been informed of this after having said yes, the ice mage had been tempted to refuse.

However, after the little girl had looked at him with those big blue eyes just like her mother's and Lyon and Sherry pleaded multiple times, he had found himself accepting their request.

"Come on, let me show you!" Ur tugged on his jacket and he ignored her.

"Why don't you show me, little Ur? I would love to see it!" A soft voice was heard and Gray mentally thanked the bluenette who was sitting on the bench by his side.

She had asked to accompany him, which Gray was grateful for since that way he didn't need to constantly keep his eye on the overly energetic child.

"But I want uncle Gray to see it too!" Ur pouted and Gray sighed.

"I guess I have no choice, then." He stood from the bench and reluctantly held out his hand so that she could grab it.

Ur pretty much dragged him towards the spot where she had been playing for the past few minutes while Juvia followed closely; watching their interactions with a smile.

"What a beautiful castle, Ur." The water mage praised once they stopped in front of the small ice castle.

The little girl smiled brightly. "Thank you, auntie Juvia."

Once Juvia kneeled down, Ur thankfully let go Gray's hand and ran towards the water mage; eager to hug her favorite aunt.

Gray rolled his eyes at them, but was unable to stop a smile from forming. Though he would never admit it, he loved watching her interact with his niece.

Their relationship was so sweet and unexpected. Lyon always told Gray that Ur had loved Juvia from the first time they met.

It had been a few weeks since Fairy Tail had returned from Tenrou Island and he had brought his daughter to the guild with the intent of introducing her to Gray.

However, the ice mage had completely forgotten about the visit and decided to take a mission in that very same day.

Thus Lyon had sought Juvia, who he knew to be close to Gray, and asked her about the ice mage. Before their conversation could go any further, Ur had interrupted with a comment about Juvia's hair.

The little girl had been fascinated with it and had started asking the water mage questions. They had ended up spending the entire day together and when Gray had returned from his mission at night, Ur had proudly introduced her as auntie Juvia.

The adults had decided not to correct her and thus it had stuck.

Every time she would call Juvia while they were in the Fairy Tail guild, Gray would see the smirks of some members and Mira's knowing smile; causing him to blush because he knew exactly what they were thinking.

After all; the only way Juvia could have truly become Ur's aunt was if their relationship took a step further.

Which it had. After months of her chasing him and claiming to love him while he ignored her advances, they were finally together.

It had been a few weeks since Gray had confessed to her and he once again cursed himself for taking so long to realize it.

Although; truth be told; realizing it hadn't helped much. In fact; that had only made him terrified because he knew that loving her might end up in her death.

After all; he had experienced it with his parents and Ur; even Erza had almost died at some point.

Every time he allowed someone to get too close, something terrible happened. And even if Gray knew it was foolish to believe that would always follow, he hadn't wanted to take any risks.

Until Juvia came.

She had somehow managed to make him wonder if it was truly worth it to always keep people at a certain distance and he had been unable to stop himself from caring about her.

After he had realized that her claims of love were actually genuine and not simply attraction like his mind had suggested, Gray had began thinking about what he might do.

Back then his feelings for her had been unclear; thus he had still kept the walls around his heart; but the Grand Magic Games changed everything.

His conversation with Ezra led him to truly truly think about his feelings for Juvia. After they had performed their unison raid; thus defeating Lyon and Chelia; he had known it.

He loved her. Not just as a friend, but he wanted to be with her.

Even if that terrified him, he had found comfort in having an answer to the question constantly plaguing his mind for the past few days.

That moment when everything had been so clear for once, his mind had started thinking of the possibilities and imagining a scenario in which he could be happy with her.

Unfortunately, no sooner had he thought about a happy future, the world had been thrown into chaos.

Gray would later see the dragon's attack as a sign, a warning that he should not allow himself to have such thoughts. He shouldn't think of Juvia as anything more than a friend and shouldn't keep her too close.

When she had almost died; that was the last straw. Even after he had managed to save her and reverse fate, he still decided to stay away from her.

It wasn't until a rather awkward conversation with Erza and Jellal that he had realized how stupid he was being.

After all, upon making such decision he had failed to think about how much Juvia might be hurt once he started avoiding her. That's why he had changed his mind and decided to confess his love for her.

It was time to move on from the past and let go of those irrational fears.

Looking back now, Gray was glad that he had decided to allow himself to hope, because he wouldn't trade this happiness he had felt with Juvia over the past few weeks for anything in the world.

"Gray? Is everything okay, my love?" Her voice broke his train of thought, making him realize that he had been standing there like an idiot for the past few minutes.

A small blush colored his cheeks as he looked at his girlfriend. "Yeah, I was just distracted. Sorry."

The ice mage scratched the back of his head awkwardly and Juvia gave him an understanding look. "It's alright. I was just concerned."

Before he could say anything else, Ur had tugged on his legs to get his attention. "Uncle Gray, I want you to help too!" He gave her a puzzled look.

"Help with what?" The water mage smiled as she replied.

"We're going to help Ur make her castle even more beautiful than it already is." Gay glanced towards the small castle and was surprised to notice that there was now a bow circling it.

He recognized Juvia's water magic immediately and couldn't help but to smile. "I see." He knelt down in front of the excited little girl. "So, what do you want me to do?"

Ur smiled brightly. "The walls! Daddy always says the castle need to have walls to make it safe."

"And he's right. At least about one thing." Gray said before using his magic to create ice walls around the castle.

In the back of his mind he thought about the similar walls that he had created around his heart and how great it felt to know that they had been brought down.

"Do you like it, Ur?" He asked her once his work was done.

Ur nodded. "Now my castle is the best in the land!" She yelled before starting to run around.

Gray and Juvia watched her with mirrored smiles. "She's really…"

He finished her sentence. "Overwhelming."

She nodded. "Yes. But also adorable."

Gray snorted. "It's hard to believe she is Lyon's daughter."

Both laughed and Juvia shook her head. "You boys and your silly rivalry. I can't even imagine what it will be like when we have our own children."

Her eyes widened upon realizing what she had said and silence fell upon them once they tried to recover from her words.

They had been together for only 3 weeks. Not months, not years.

They were nowhere near the thought of children, but that didn't stop Gray from actually imagining it. "Well, I'm sure ours will be way cuter."

Juvia looked at him in pure shock, her mouth hanging open, leading him to raise his brows. "What?"

"I'm just surprised, that's all." She said and he smiled before wrapping an arm around her shoulders.

"What? You don't think I've ever thought about it?" The water mage immediately shook her head.

"I didn't think so." Gray shrugged.

"After finding out that Lyon had somehow gotten married and had a child, I started thinking about it." He paused to look back at Ur. She had started dancing to nonexistent music and it was just too adorable.

"I'm no where near ready for that, of course, but doesn't mean I can't imagine what it might be like." A large blush colored his cheeks and he avoided her eyes.

"What do you think it might be like, then?" Gray looked back at her, unsurprised by the serene smile on her face.

Anyone would've expected Juvia to go crazy over such news, but ever since they had become a couple her reactions had become less overwhelming.

He thanked her for that because it made him uncomfortable when she reacted so intensely.

"I don't wait to say it." Juvia raised a brow. "Come on, Juvia, it's embarrassing."

He was now blushing even more, and she laughed. "Alright, then. I'll go first."

Gray watched her, unsure what to expect. "I have always pictured a little girl with blue hair and dark eyes like yours. She would be an ice make wizard and you would teach her everything. We'd live in Magnolia with our friends and she would be loved by everyone in the guild."

"That sounds wonderful." Gray brought her closer and wrapped his arms around her from behind. They briefly glanced at the little girl who was still dancing while chasing a butterfly.

"What about you?" Juvia turned around so she could look into his eyes.

Gray immediately smiled. "Honestly? I thought the same thing."

does ching remember her mother, or just things she heard from her dad?

ching has very distant memories of her mother. her face, her perfume, her voice. if she tries to remember her mom she can very distinctly remember these things, and they make her feel very small and vulnerable. chang doesn’t talk much about her unless ching asks, and ching stopped asking around the time pucca’s parents went missing. ching will always have a piece of her heart missing that her mother took with her, but it becomes much smaller the older she gets and the closer she grows to her friends.

how does she deal with won's death?

not very well at first. she knew it was coming because won was getting old. she got fairly sick and ching just knew it was over. she fought for won as hard as she could with vet visits and medicines and anything she could do. won was her closest confidant and best friend after her mother left and before she was very close with abyo and pucca. her five stages look like this:

denial: lasts all the way through the first vet visit. when the vet announces that yes there’s nothing much they can do for won, she breaks down in the room right there, holding won close to her chest and crying. abyo or pucca went with her, and whoever it was just sits next to her and let’s her cry.pucca hates seeing ching cry, so she’d probably try to cheer her up, but it’s not very successful. abyo would also try and cheer her up, but he’d ultimately fail, too. garu would probably just let her cry, and when she was okay and ready to leave he’d make sure she got home okay.

anger: she’s in the dojo attacking anything for a week. if she’s not spending time with won during her last few weeks, she’s trying to kill something.any of their typical enemies attack? ching slices through them like nothing. her best friend is dying there’s nothing she can do to fix it so get the fuck out of her way. tobe probably picks up on it pretty quickly and avoids attacking when either of the girls are around.

bargaining: it doesn’t last long. she pleads with everyone she can think of that could save him, but even master soo can’t meddle in death.

depression: it’s so bad she can’t get out of bed. she and won just stay in bed for days. won is sick but trying to comfort ching until the end. it’s only when ching realizes this that she is able to pick herself up out of bed every day. she may not do much more than get up and get dressed and other usual hygiene things, but she gets. out. of. bed. and sometimes that’s all you can ask for.

acceptance: she thinks she’s accepted it before won finally passes, but she doesn’t actually seem to accept it until won’s tiny casket has been buried behind the dojo. there’s a small ceremony, with all they’re family. ching says a few words about how much won had always meant to her, and how she’s sad to see her go, but is glad she’s no longer in pain. she has the other chickens by now, and they knew won too, so their all grieving. garu doesn’t break his vow of silence very often but i can see this being one of the exceptions.(@honrr) having her other chickens does help her move on. having other creatures to live for, things to accomplish, goals to meet, helps her feel better. she spends more time tending to her flower garden, painting and photographing and enjoying her more artistic hobbies. she grows, she copes, and she never forgets. she has a plaque made that hangs in the living room. “In Honor of Won, The Greatest Chicken Best Friend a Girl Could Have.” The other chickens can’t read so they can’t be offended.

who does ching hate more, tobe, dada, or ring ring, and why?

ching will always tell you she doesn’t feel hate, but it’s not true. she hates bugs. but she doesn’t truly hate any of these people. she hates parts of their personalities, but she sees the potential for goodness in all of them. she knows tobe is capable of love, and ring ring and dada too, for that matter. ching believes that if someone is capable of loving their capable of growing.

she hates that tobe can’t just leave garu alone. she doesn’t know what their feud is over, but she finds it so annoying that it’s so constant.

she hates the way dada treats pucca. how pucca is always so kind and forgiving of him, but he stabs her in the back and helps kidnap her uncles! so right now dada is in first place for most hated.

she hates who ring ring has become. how manipulative and mean she is. part of her can’t believe they were ever friends with her, and another part wonders where they all went wrong. ching sees a lot of her own insecurities in ring ring, and she genuinely pities her. ring ring is a reminder to her that she can’t bottle up and hide all the things she doesn’t like about herself. she has to be open about them. it’s not always easy, but she tries hard every day to take the steps necessary to not feel spiteful to her best friend in the world.

so it’s probably dada. she sees true potential for good in tobe, and just pities ring eing, but dada has seriously traumatized pucca, and that does not fly with ching.

what is ching's favorite movie?

she honestly rly likes old kung fu movies that abyo makes her watch, they’re her guilty pleasure. she’ll put up a fight on movie night but it’s all for show. her favorite is the original karate kid. ching doesn’t have one all-time favorite. she has certain movies that are top-tier, and karate kid is always hovering in the top five.she;s also a sucker for cheesy chick flicks from the late ‘90′s early 2000′s

when does she first realize she has feelings for abyo?

so at first it’s like. “this is a dude i’ve known my whole life, i think he’s cute, we’re kids”. that kinda crush. where you like them bc you’ve known each other forever and everyone thinks you’ll get together anyways. ching glides along with this no problem. she doesn’t realize it goes deeper until abyo starts getting rly flirty (in-show) and she realizes that the anger it makes her feel is really jealousy. she’s 11 so she doesn’t think on it too hard. just continues with the “he’s my boyfriend” and getting frustrated at him for flirting so much. she also takes a lot of cues from pucca because she’s never seen a functional relationship. she knew pucca’s parents, but they were just her best friends parents, they never felt like an example of a relationship to her. so pucca’s constant pursuit spurs ching’s. ching is not as outgoing with her affection as pucca is and she has impulse control. so when it hits her like “wow these are real feelings.’ would be like high school age. u know. when ur figuring all that shit out in the first place. she takes a good long think about her feelings more in general, and she notices how often abyo made her feel this or that, more than pucca or garu or won or anyone. abyo is always right there. and that’s when it kinda clicks for her that abyo’s like her person. he’s an idiot. but he’s loyal and lovable and kind. he cares about her.

is she ever jealous of pucca?

it’s not super often, but it does pop up. pucca is sooga village’s “it” girl. she’s cute and sweet and popluar (for good and obvious reasons). and ching is nothing but happy and supportive of her best friend. but there are definitely times when she finds herself envying her. even just slightly. like how everyone is automatically drawn to her, how she barely speaks loud enough to hear and captures everyone’s attention. how pucca is so powerful and strong and perfect that it only makes ching all the more aware of her own insecurities. she doesn’t want to hold it against pucca. she knows she isn’t perfect and that she has her own traumas to face. also that time pucca accidentally kissed abyo she was momentarily like “girl what are u doing” until pucca threw an acorn at him.

is there a villain she respects or feels pity for?

she has respect and pity for the vagabonds. she respects that they’re willing to do what they need to to stay alive and feed themselves. she pities them that it means a life of crime. she pities all of them to an extent, but it’s more like compassion than pity. except ring ring, she truly pities ring ring. like she’ll momentarily pity any villain that’s in pucca’s way, but it wears off once they’re dealt with. dada isn’t technically a villain but she pities him too. after her incident with doga’s sock she wonders if that’s why doga is actually evil, and not because she wants to be. she really doesn’t like tobe, but literally only because he’s always bugging her friends. if he’d leave them alone she’d probably find a way to get along with him.
