The Rebel's Final Yell
I do not fight without a cause
I fight to protect
Till the very end
Because it's who I am
And now that you see me
As my knees buckle under the weight of life and the waiting embrace of Death
Please don't leave me here
Please don't let me be forgotten
Please don't let me die
*****
The Rebel's Final Yell
Echoes on for ages
For anyone who will listen
Surely
His last shout at the Devil
Will be the one that matters most
*****
I leave you today with a question
I may never find the answer to
Are our deaths really ours?

Always Favors You
Another Sibling Danny and Jason idea!!
"Are you Jason Peter Todd?!" demanded a deep and commanding tone from the strange glowing being in front of them.
All the Bats stiffened and tensed, no doubt gearing up for a fight against the being that somehow knew Red Hood's full name.
Jason, Red Hood, decided to put on a brave front despite no doubt cursing in his head and wondering how the heck did this thing know his full freaking name.
"Whose asking." he snarled out, his hands twitching for his gun when the huge glowing knight with purple flames coming out of his helmet and cape, who was riding on a nightmare looking horse while they all had been in the cave going over tonight's patrol.
The Knight didn't seemed bothered by his response nor did he even seem to care or flinch when Batman made his own demand on 'Why was he there and who was he' or when Damian unsheathed his sword and pointed it towards him. Instead the strange glowing Knight reached to it side and pulled out... A glowing scroll? Huh. (Also he completely unnerved everyone in the room when the Knight didn't even react when Batman had tossed a Baterang when he reached for his side)
The Knight opened the scroll and spoke clearly with purpose.
"Jason Peter Todd,
You are hereby invited as a special guest of honor to the crowning of our future King of the Infinite Realms.
Daniel Phantom, once Daniel Jackson Fenton, and once Daniel Austen Todd.
Prince of the Infinite Realms, the Keeper of Balance, The Peacekeeping Halfa, the Defeater of the Tyrant King Pariah Dark, The Great One, Youngest of the Ancients, Ancient of Space, The Bridge between Life and Death.
You, the half-brother of our King, have been given the highest of honors for your past actions and will be given housing and food in the Realms and Phantom's Keep, for the week long event. Personal servants and attendants will be at your disposable and a seamstress will be on hand to tailor make your attire for the Coronation.
Signed: Clockwork. Ancient of Time. Watcher of the Infinite Timeline. Kronos. Mentor and Adviser.
PS: I shall have Fright Knight ("Me" the Knight bluntly said for a second) leave this scroll along with a personal one for you from Daniel to read over and once you make up your mind sign the bottom of the scroll.
I do hope in time you will pick the right choice Jason Todd, we of the Infinite Realms would like to reward you for your actions. After all, if you hadn't gotten young Daniel away from your father that night all those years ago, we would never had gained our Prince nor be free from our once Tyrant King.
Ah, one more thing.
The Infinite Realms will always favor you Jason."
Jason felt like he couldn't breath as Fright Knight? Rolled up the scroll, pulled a letter from his side, and held out the two items for him to take.

I feel like I've complained about Tim's email situation in Gotham Knights before (edit: I have), but the truth of it is just so funny.
He's signed up for so many podcasts, video game streamers, and random news alerts; it's just a constant barrage of data going straight into his constantly whirring brain. Hell, he even floats the idea of the Batfamily having their own podcast as a way to correct misinformation about them (which Jason shoots down instantly), and it's made me realize something.
Timothy Drake would be a YouTuber.
In this universe specifically, Timothy Jackson Drake, the heir to Drake Industries and the foster son of the late Bruce Wayne would be a YouTuber.
Think about it. It'd be the perfect cover. Who would ever suspect that some 16-year-old nepo baby with a YouTube channel could ever be Red Robin? You'd have to be mad. I mean, look at him.
Red Robin just dropped out of literal thin air and garotted someone four times his size, and you expect anyone to believe that's the same kid who does 24-hour Minecraft charity streams and occasionally drops 6-hour video essays (his last one was on Lex Luthor's illegal bit mining operation on the moon)?
That kid?
You think that kid is Red Robin?
Ch'yah, okay, sure. And the Joker is funny 🤡.

There is a significant time in our lives, in which others make decisions for us. The thing is, we don't have a say in those decisions, so they aren't ours. If these decisions end up hurting us, that is on them, not us.
But we often don't realize that.
In that time, we are completely at the mercy of those people and their decisions.
If we never know that those decision makers actually failed us, chances are we'll see ourselves as failures.
That is why abusers feel threatened when we start to question their behavior. When they see a victim becoming an individual, they are threatened. Because then we are taking back what has been rightfully ours since birth.
Now, some people who bring us into this world won't respect our rights. They will do anything to make sure we don't know the truth; that whatever they did was not our fault, that we deserve better, that we never should've had to fight for survival to begin with.
They keep us in the dark so they can control us. If no one turns on the light, sometimes we have to find a match. But if you don't know the light exists, if you aren't allowed to know, why would you look for a flicker?
If you are shown the worst sides of humanity, time and time again, the sides that abusers show you, either through hurting you or in an attempt to frighten you into thinking you need them.
The thing is, you do need them. You need them to make the right decisions. And that is how they take advantage of you; by keeping you from knowing right and wrong.
So they can continue to make the wrong decisions.
Who pays the price? Who carries the burdens, the crosses of all this guilt, all this pain? Not them. You.
That is what guilt is designed for in an abuser's hands. It's one of their most powerful and effective weapons.
As long as they have you believing you are problem, they have control.
One of my problems with Billy's ending?
He got control. He snatched it back. A crown, if you will, that was taken from him.
And then he loses his life. He's fucking killed.
Billy didn't know what I had the chance to figure out (and hell I'm still learning).
Do you know how I know?
Because his last words were an apology.
Other people's decisions, their wants, they brought him to the Mind Flayer. They drove him to his death.
And for someone like Billy, who has been forced to apologize for things that were not his fault in the past (the neil scene), to have his last words be a fucking apology...
He had no choice! He was dying, and if he'd had the time (like Brenner) he would've said more. He was cornered by Death from all sides.
His entire life was "I'm sorry". Those apologies weren't said to him. He was forced to say them to people who let him down. But he didn't know that. In his mind he let people down.
That is what abusers want. If you blame yourself, you won't have any blame to spare for them. As long as you believe that it's your fault, they are still in control.
Because of Billy, I have been able to see the truth in my own life. But I am still alive. I saw a chance at freedom, and I took it. I had to make that chance happen.
All I knew about my father, my first abuser, was that his actions hurt me. I didn't know they were wrong.
The same goes for damn near every adult who was supposed to fight for me. I see their decisions, their failures.
Because I am alive. Because I am away from my father. I am away from the Shadow, and even now the light is growing. It is not just a destination.
The real promised land is inside you.
Your promised land is the truth.
Everyone deserves to know the truth.
Especially when that truth can help free you.
That is why safe spaces are important when leaving a toxic environment. That safe space can be your place to help that flicker become a star to lead the way to your promised land.
The truth can be ugly.
It's a bitter pill to swallow when the people who are supposed to support you and help you grow are the ones hurting you.
Speaking from experience, although having people tell you ___ wasn't your fault does help, finding that out for yourself is important.
That's when I started to believe it. This belief is my knowledge, and knowledge is power.
I know what happened to me was not my fault. This is me taking my power back from those who have hurt me. Those who have failed me.
I want that for everyone. I think we deserve to see those we relate to in media not be demonized on and off screen.
So yes, Billy deserved to know of and live to see his promised land.
And if Billy deserves it, then we do, too.
That is what I choose to take from my time in this lovely corner of the fandom, and I'm not planning on abandoning it anytime soon.
Conversations with @local-redhead-bookworm and people who persistently show their ignorance and unwillingness to learn have brought me here.

According to NBC here in the US, the missing titanic sub has been found. As debris. Off the bow of the Titanic wreckage.
And it looks like the sub suffered what we all suspected, and what was undoubtedly the more merciful of the two options: a catastrophic implosion from the pressure.
Also, more info has come to light about the fishing trawler with the hundreds of migrants that sank cataclysmically off the coast of Greece, indicating that the greek coast guard knew about the vessel AND how much trouble the vessel was in, and were towing it at a speed that made it capsize, at which point they unhooked the tow line and watched the trawler sink without helping the passengers to safety. Despite a bunch of other ships trying to help as well throughout the whole ordeal.
So a lot of people are dead, all because of regulations (and the lack thereof) regarding sea-faring vessels and rescue protocols. People shouldnt be allowed to make a business charging a ton of money for a ride on an uncertified, unsafe, un-seaworthy ship going deep into the ocean with no distress beacon or tether to the mothership. People also shouldnt be allowed to enact laws that criminalize the ferrying of refugees, which then force the refugees to hitch rides on fishing trawlers, and which also prevent people from helping those fishing trawlers full of refugees due to fear of legal consequences.
Hopefully BOTH of these events spark changes on an international scale in terms of what is legally allowed to be sailed, who is legally allowed to be the passengers, and what the rescue protocols are in the event of disaster for any seafaring vessel, illegal or not. It shouldnt be just the global 1% who get 24/7 search parties and remote-operated submersibles helping rescue them.
