I don't dislike mac, although i do have a problem with the way fandom tends to baby him (but this can be said of pretty much every member of the gang, it's just fandom). i actually think dennis wants mac around, he just wants him to be... his friend. instead of having to constantly fend off his advances. they are both incredibly bad for each other, but i don't personally believe that mac leaving dennis alone would improve things. dennis tries over and over again to leave and he always comes to the realization that things are better with the gang than out on his own. he struggles to form connections outside of the gang just as he struggles to form connections inside the gang. the gang will never be able to separate because they are all they have. it's an extremely dysfunctional family, but still a family.

den's "hated" mac since season 9 interestingly a revelation to come after mac's homophobic tirade on mac day, prompting him to say "not only is he ruining my life, but with all this god shit that he's into, he could be ruining my afterlife" which. i'm sure has absolutely nothing to do with anything. especially not after frank vs russia showed us that den's been queer for who knows how long. but aside from a few moments here and there, mac wasn't really actively, intentionally pursuing him until the latter half of season 12 (post-PTSDee when he realizes he's in love with dennis, and then in dennis' double life when he comes up with the plan to fake being in a relationship with him). mac is incredibly impulsive, and the majority of the time, at least before he comes out, i don't think he fully intends to harm dennis (or anyone else), he just. does. he's definitely selfish (as is the rest of the gang), and that leads to unfortunate consequences, but like in chokes, and gets romantic, and dennis' double life, his goal is that he wants dennis to love him back. he isn't explicitly trying to trap dennis, it just sort of happens when the plans don't work out. with the way he changes his plans on the fly i doubt any of it was planned out very far in advance. i think dennis' aversion to change makes him want to try and revert mac to the way he was back when they got along, but he also hates mac lying to himself too. he's the one that pushes mac to come out, over and over, and then says he's happy for mac once he does finally come out. i fully believe the reason the two of them seemed to be doing better in inflates was because with mac "taken", dennis was feeling unthreatened by him, which, ultimately, is what dennis actually wants. for mac to be dating someone else so that his sexual advances are directed elsewhere and dennis can be friends with him again.

Now, I wasn’t entirely sure if you want this to be Romantic or Platonic so I kept it pretty vague so it could be interpreted as either! I hope that’s ok, if not just send another request and I’ll fix it!!

Lucifer

When you first arrived in hell, he wasnt the most impressed by you. Not in a mean way or anything, just that he’s lived for a long time and has met a plethora of different types of beings so he’s pretty used to meeting interesting looking people.

But even he has to admit that he was intrigued with you. Your 9 well-groomed and lush tails that quietly followed you with every step and the fur of your fox ears looked soft to the touch. The thing that he seemed to notice most though was the whole eloquent aura you had with every movement you did. Smooth, almost tranquil.

You being a Kitsune did cause you to stir up a bit of… let's say trouble. Your fox nature of course caused you to have a personality that leaned a bit mischievously. You weren’t malicious by any means, you judt had a very… unique taste in humor and how you wish to spend your time. Pranks, stealing random objects that interest you, and going places that you probably should be. This gets you in trouble with many a folk but it’s really not something you can’t handle.

On one of these occasions. you took interest in his custom made duckys. First off, it was something new to you, 2nd, you had never seen someone be this interested in ducks as him, so when you randomly stumbled into the big man of hell’s workspace that’s filled to the brim of them, each with unique features and colorful designs, needless to say you were quite interested.

He was a bit embarrassed at first when you found it but seeing that you genuinely were into them he literally couldnt stop showing them off. Going into almost ecrusiating detail of each one's design choices. (This man is so autistic-coded. I love him so much)

He even made a custom one for you which he gave you when both met again. It was a basic duck design, except it had 9 tail feathers and wore fox ears that clearly mimicked your own, including your fur pattern. He then spent an hour going through each of its features with you. To say you were grateful would be an understatement.

Charlie

Definitely more impressed than her father would be. Of course she has been in hell literally all her life and has seen some weird, wacky, hot and cool people but it still doesnt not surprise her when she finds interesting people. When you first met her she was really interested in you, asking a bunch of questions and It was almost scary how enthusuatsic about it she got.

She then started talking about her brand new “Hazbin Hotel.” It was something to reform sinners so that they had a chance at redemption. Charlie seemed so excited to tell you about it that you honestly did have the heart to tell her that you didn’t exactly believe a soul could be redeemed.

Now depending on if you’re hellborn or a sinner, things can go a bit differently. If youre hellborn she’ll offer you a job at the hotel, well to say a job would be a lie, you didn’t really have 1 given task to do, you just helped out when needed. if you’re a sinner, you of course get to stay in a room at the hotel. Whether you actually go along and try to get better is up to you. It was a free place to sleep, so hey? Might as well. Either way though, Charlie always sees the good in people, hellborn or not. So she would obviously want to help you grow as a person even if you are hellborn.

The michevues aspects of your personality tends to cause some problems for the hotel at times. Fights happen, lessons have ended prematurely, and you may have accidentally caused a bar fight between Angel and Sir Pentious. It really was an accident, how was you supposed to know “borrowing” one of Pentious’ shiny tools would cause such a ruckus?

Charlie lectored you about taking others' stuff and made you apologize.

As much as Charlie doesn’t want to admit it (at least before episode 5) she’s a lot like her dad. That also expands to their likeness for your fur. She really can’t take her eyes away from it, it just looks so soft and neat… and soft… eventually you catch her staring at your tails and you just laugh and ask her if she wants to touch them.

“What!? Pfft, noooo, no no no. hehe…he…unless you’re offering…”

Alastor

Considering Alastor died in the 20’s I don’t think he knows what a Kitsune is exactly. Which is probably why he’s the most interesting in you at first glance (you could have also met when he first manifested in hell, which would only further his intrigue)

Either way, your personalities seemed to mesh well for the most part. You both stir up trouble wherever you go (Alastor a bit more… maliciously than you but still)

Whether you’re hellborn or a sinner is irrelevant to how he treats you, though he has tried making a deal with you every once and a while. You always decline but he thinks it’s always worth a shot to ask.

Alastor is aware of your devious behavior and knows the best way to handle it if it ever happens to come his way. He knows that you’re harmless and not a threat which is exactly why he has taken a liking to you. You’re someone who can only really help his cause and nothing bad can really come out of you being around.

Pranks though, are the one thing that Alastor can’t seem to sway you out of doing. He can’t even begin to count the amount of times he’s been at the front end of them. Of course he always sees through them and they’ve never once worked, but boy are you sure determined to one day get him.

This was one such case where you attempted to steal and hide his radio cane while he was asleep, only for him to sneak up shadow form and scare you half to double death

i genuinely think joey drew is such a compelling character when you consider the different facets of him. at first hes portrayed as an upbeat dreamer who is blinded by his passions and a bit naïve, but then you get the one audio log that totally shatters it where he breaks the façade and reveals that he doesnt believe his own mantras about dreams at all. he cant take the mask off though because his entire empire is built on his fake personality, so his own autobiography is fiction because, while the stories may be true, the narration he gives is completely fictional. we honestly see so little of the real joey, but what we know is that hes short tempered, overly expectant and creates extremely harmful conditions for his workers to churn out impossible deadlines. theres an interesting line to be drawn between dreams and ambition. joey wants people to think everything he does is for some great passion of his, but in reality its fueled by a desire to succeed and expand. If that means people get hurt, people suffer, people die, even, he doesn't care. at the end of the day, his goal is to succeed.

this really amplifies the impact of memory joey too in my opinion. memory joey is fundamentally not real because that version of joey is so fake. hes the embodiment of that faked persona joey puts on that people loved him for, who seemed to be kind and friendly. with memory joey, theres no twist, because he is wholly the false perception, and he doesnt have any of the negative traits joey hid from people. even memory joey is a victim of real joey.

idk i just think its really interesting how theres two sides to him, a fake side hes made to profit off of other people and his true more malicious self. all this to say, joey drew is a gemini

there have been a few speculations in the tag and among the fans and they are all very good SO i am going to take this opportunity to insert a bit of my shipping bias as i like in my interpretation LMAO agdsfgdfgv

i noted that in actuality shuro seems to have a very good grasp on laios' character??? this is most obvious in the manga later on but even seeing how he criticises laios in their fight... iirc nothing he says is actually untrue or wildly exaggerated, and while he does express frustration over something he feels like laios Should have control over (noticing his cues), he is also aware that laios isnt being malicious and that hes Just Like That. what i mean to say is that while i think his version of laios may seem more pushy and in-your-face, i dont think it will be overwhelmingly so. if its post-fight, i think the idea of laios (and marcille) being willing to do anything to get falin back made a big impression on him, as well as the idea that they need to eat and rest in order to succeed in their goals, so those aspects would be prominent in his version. he seems pretty observant, so i think for the most part the physical traits would line up, but i think there would be specific things that stand out to him that would appear strangely striking on his version of laios (like. idk something about his eye colour or the subtle contrast of his armour and chainmail. he seems to have a weird sense of aesthetics if extras are anything to go by lmao). if hed actually been paying attention all those times laios had gone on about what the hell ever, then it might be even MORE hard to tell apart his version since he would also have a good grasp on what laios should know. so either his version of laios is pretty difficult to pick out, OR despite the character being accurate his appearance is too. stylised lmao (exaggerated features or something) OR!! they just get him to pull out his monster gourmet guide thing and are able to tell from there. iirc everyone was surprised at its appearance so its possible toshiro had also never seen it before

IN MY IMAGINARY SHIPPING SCENARIO............ lets say that his laios isnt able to be picked out immediately and that the monster guide thing also doesnt immediately occur to anyone. what the real laios Specifically notices is how close this other laios keeps getting to shuro. and hes like. ??? why is he getting so close to him, theres no way i get that close to him??? but no one else seems to be picking up on it as weird, so hes having a small crisis like do i REALLY get that close to him???? and now that hes on the outside he notices shuro subtly leaning away and he feels both a wave of shame and..... protectiveness??? (JEALOUSY??????) and he immediately steps in and grabs him like Hey!!! cant you see hes uncomfortable???? weve been through this already!!! and like. ok i cant believe im doing this again but i need to separate this into different endings

a) the whump route: i dont think shuro ever envisioned Actually Telling laios about his frustrations outside of being basically cornered into it. has he ever spoken up against what was expected of him?? has he ever been confrontational???? i think part of what held him back from expressing his frustrations, along with the cultural norms, could be fear of what the reaction would be. if he had done the same in any other aspect of his life (his family, his inheritance), i think he would expect disappointment, disapproval, more proof that he doesnt add up to expectation. to be honest i dont think he Truly believes that laios is the type of person to react like this. but it was strong enough to prevent him from acting and i think would be projected onto his image of laios. maybe fake!laios says something dismissive like Well if it really bothered him hed say something right? what, he cant even stand up for himself? cmon, shuro, prove that you cant handle it just like everything else. and thats pretty much the fastest giveaway that it isnt really laios. of course this would be a HUGE tonal departure from what the actual episode/chapter was, so:

b) the dumbass route: both laioses break into fisticuffs, and, yes.... barking. and so they speedrun the entire encounter as the shapeshifters true form appears and, after laios points out that thinking too hard about others versions of you can tear apart groups and peace of mind, they pointedly do not speak of it again. they think about it though. a LOT

c) the normal route: both laioses argue normal like and the group ends up being able to tell them apart because the fake laios goes on a little too long about how theyre all here for falin and everyones like ok its not like he DOESNT love his sister but.......... the rest of the scenario probably goes like canon, though then i would want to see what everyone Else thought of shuro

curious to know why you seem to have trouble waking up, given that sleep isnt really physically necessary in the digital world- definitely something thats leaving him scratching his head

gently shakes you awake, softly saying your name to try to coax you up

similar to caine shes a little worried about the fact you struggle with waking up in the digital world, due to the whole not technically needing sleep... but due to her not knowing a lot of the ins and outs of the world like caine, she can get a little more anxious and let her mind come up with worse scenarios

offers to let you sleep with her so she can keep an eye on you, observing you helps her get used to it as well as calm her nerves

tries not to let you in on her worried because she doesnt want you to feel bad.. its not your fault!

makes sure you wake up to join her and everyone else in the daily adventure, she wants to make sure you get your mental stimulation... and she likes spending time with you!

zooble

doesnt notice until they try to wake you up by calling your name from the door of your room when they need you only for you to not move

others may worry that you had died in your sleep some how, but not zooble. they walk over to the side of your bed and shake your bed a little. they shake your shoulder if youre comfortable with touch and/or at the point where physical touch is a norm between you two

does not wake you up for in house adventures unless you express interest and desire to join them, they wake you up then while theyre on their way to the common area

if you dont want to join the adventures they leave you be unless you express prior to wanting to be waken up at some point in the day

if you tend to stay up late due to how much you sleep, zooble will keep you company

theyre a bit of a night owl

gangle

tries her best to wake you up, oftentimes failing until she goes to extreme measures such as.. gasp.. raising her voice!

feels a tad bit bad for waking you up, please remind her that thats what you want!

always wakes you up to ask if you want to go on the in house adventure with her and everyone else, quietly gives you an "okay" if you dont want to go out... she uh.. doesnt know if she should let you go back to sleep or not, or should she stay with you? would you like her to do that?

like zooble, gangle is a bit of a nightowl. its just a trait that comes with being an artist, haha! so if you need or want some company on late nights her door is always open to you!

very awkward when waking you up, doesnt know if shes being too gentle or too rough with you and shes not used to asserting herself- if thats even the right term... pushing her voice out and making sure you actually wake up

I know people have discussed this before but I LOVE how kazuki literally never teases rei for his childish behaviours. Like kazuki understands rei and lets him be childish because rei never had a childhood where he was actually allowed to be a child. One scene is obviously the mall scene where rei, instead of picking up essentials, picks up his favourite morio cart characters' plushies and walks around in mall holding them close like a little kid. And kazuki does the actual shopping and lets rei and miri pick toys. Then there's also when miri and rei eat french toast. Kazuki goes "you guys-" but looks at them so lovingly. (He basically keeps implying rei has the taste buds of a kid like when he once said 'your taste buds hasnt improved even after all these' but does nothing to change it anyways.) And then again after miri leaves with her mother, kazuki still picks up the choco rings, mainly as a habit, but he doesnt put it back in the shelf either. He takes it home and eats it with rei. He doesnt like it, but rei does. (That scene also implies how their life had changed due to miri, including the small changes but thats another topic). Idk man its so endearing and nice. Kazuki on multiple occasions teases rei (like when miri calls him papa rei) but its always lighthearted and never to poke fun at how rei, as an adult, cant function well like he should. Because kazuki understands rei tries. And fails. He just doesnt get it. Even at the last ep kazuki tells rei and they need to divide the chores to raise miri better and he even goes into certain details about how to clean (Like moving things away before vacuuming). Rei should know that already, but he doesnt and kazuki is fine with it. Rei takes his time to learn. In relation to kazuki's treatment of rei, another thing i noticed is how rei genuinely is how he is. Like, in that episode where kazuki leaves to teach rei and miri a lesson (also other things obviously), when miri asked rei what a maid is, rei seems confused. He never meant for kazuki to feel that way, he didnt use kazuki for survival or anything, he didnt even understand that he wasnt putting efforts around the household, he didnt have any malicious or selfish intent at all, he was just confused. Hes a dysfunctional person and thats all. And while kazuki does wish rei helped him around, he, as stated above, still understands that rei just wasnt raised to be that way. I REALLY appreciate that both kazuki amd rei, at their core, are good people with good intentions and they do care for each other. They dont change from bad to good (which is good genre too), they just needed a catalyst that ultimately turned them to the best versions of themselves (miri in their case, obviously).

• Percy is chronically confused and he never stops being confused about everything when he gets older and I love him for that

• I'm already aware that Luke is going to end up being horrible in some way to Percy because of the reaction of the whole fandom to non-book readers liking Luke so much and all i know he will do something malicious out of jealousy? As I understand hed been ignored by gods for a long time while Percy got claimed in couple days. NO idea what possibly will he do

• I'm team Grover, he can do nothing wrong and I know for a fact he will be Percy's friend throughout everything even if he wont always be in the centre of action, I also hope hes more than just a sideckick or protector for demigods and has his own stuff to do

• Annabeth is a badass with a baggage and it seems like shes not always appreciated enough

Doc and Grian hate each other. well..

Dog hates Grian, he's always messing with his stuff, breaking it, vandalizing it, covering it in dirt. The whole nine yards with this guy, and the worst part is that doc can't do anything to get him back! Every retaliation Doc sends Grian's way is disregarded with a laugh, like water off the back of a duck. Makes sense, pesky bird.

Eventually, after Doc manages to uncover his beloved perimeter and Grian just comes back with more dirt, more stupid live laugh love signs, Doc snaps. He's never really shouted at anyone on hermicraft, never had a reason to. This is too far, Doc can only take so much, even if he didn't have the creeper side of his brain yelling about how his territory was being threatened.

To Doc, the perimeter is his home, his nest, where he eats and sleeps, where he's comfortable and able to mess around with redstone. Grian constantly coming in and messing with it is upsetting on an instinctual level but until now Doc has ignored it, telling himself that Grian was his friend and surely he wouldn't take it too far.

He was proven wrong and now he was screaming, screaming at Grian because he just couldn't take it anymore. It doesn't matter that Grian doesn't know German, it doesnt matter that Grian looks afraid, all that matters is getting the point across that the perimeter is Doc's space, Doc's nest. It is not a place to do whatever you wish.

After he's done, Grian is stunned and silent. Doc runs away to the deepest, darkest, safest, corner and covers himself in moss. He doesn't speak to anyone for a while, exactly how long he doesn't know. The rest of the nho bring him food and water, leaving it a respectful distance away.

He's nearly ready to come back up, back to socializing, when he hears talons clack on the deepstone in front of him. He starts hissing immediately but Grian is not well known for taking the hint.

"I cleaned it up, it's all back to normal. And I- well, I got Mumbo and Tango to help me with the tunnel bore. Me n' Scar got it all back to how you had it."

It doesn't feel great to know that grian had been running around when he wasn't up, but the sentiment is appreciated. He sighs and raises his head, the usual glow of his eye gone because he hasn't charged it in probably weeks.

"can you lead me out. can't see." Creeper vision on its own is nearly blind, he's gotta fix that.

It's trust. Doc is still fuming, angry and vile, but Grian showed that he realized his mistake, he righted his mistake, and Doc trusts him not to be malicious again.

Grian holds his hand the whole way out of the cave, warning him of lips and ledges that he can't see. Doc knows he's closer than necessary, knows he's sorry. He accepts the apology and leans back.

It's not forgiveness, but it is something.

It isn't hard, though, to notice the way Grian avoids him afterwards. He gets the occasional nod if they pass by each other in the shopping district, but the dumb bird is hard to find otherwise. Even in the shopping district, Doc has seen him maybe once or twice.

He knows he should be pleased. Finally, he's got what he wanted. His nest has been left alone, everything is fixed and he can continue working on his projects.

So, damn it, why does he miss the stupid guy?

Grian pushed too far, sure, but Doc still enjoyed his company. He enjoyed the game of cat and mouse they had together, if only it hasn't escalated so far. The Civil War and Area 77 worked because it just wasn't happening at Doc's own nest. He had a place to retreat to at the end of it all to curl up and feel safe.

He hates being the one to give, but he's growing tired of Grian avoiding him. It seems like Doc needs to think of his own play - just with some ground rules this time.

*I gesture at Toshiro* Toshiro hasnt had a proper meal or sleep for the past few days, learns very upsetting information about someone that he cares about, then Gets Attacked (WHOLE PARTY DIES) AND THEN is subjected to the shenanigans of a guy he was already kinda annoyed by at best. Bro Laois was just the straw on the camels back. He then actually eats for, need I remind the first time since the main group met up with them, and is IMMEDIATELY chiller and more sympathetic to Laois. With the whole cultural differences and different styles of communication running as background noise to it all.

*I gesture back at Kabru* And this guy was caught between wanting to be SOMEONES FRIEND *SO* BADLY that he ate something that was Deeply traumatic for him to even think about, and the cognitive dissonance between Social Politeness and PTSD he had a blind intrusive thought about just killing the guy to avoid the situation. The Social Politeness Reflex is probably just as strong as the Trauma reaction is, given how he grew up. By Kabru's rules, he cannot refuse if he wants to continue to work towards being Laois' friend. To call it manipulative with malicious intent seems kinda an overstatement

Like. Im not saying theyre *right* or that Laois also doesnt/didnt have a reason to be upset right back at them (alluding to a further arc with Kabru, spoilers), I'm just saying, just because somebody is being "mean" to a member of the main cast doesnt mean theyre worse than trash and deserve to die, ya know?

Btw, not autistic, but ik for a fact that I've said "How was I supposed to know, you didnt tell me!" Verbatim to people AND I know how shitty it is to learn someone was only pretending to like something you really care about, so I very much do think they were wrong with how they handled these things, and sympathize with Laois by experience. There's just two sides to these things and I dont think Kabru or Toshiro are written to be bad people because they specifically were wrong in these instances.

Making my case for Sleeper Agent Crosshair, 'cause even if it doesn't happen, I think it's an interesting idea and I'd happily watch three more seasons just to see it play out.

I just think it was pretty suspicious how events played out Infiltration and Extraction. Something always sat weird with me, the way Crosshair acted about his time on Tantiss, and then when he was faced with the CX clones.

I suppose you could say that the reason Crosshair was tight-lipped about his experiences and his apparent reluctance to speak about it could be chalked up to the torture and trauma he undoubtedly went through, but I don't really buy that. I think it's made clear that he cares about his brothers and Omega far more than he cares about keeping secrets.

But what was really interesting to me was the way he reacted when he came face to face with the captured CX operative in Rex's stronghold. It was the immediate unease, and the way the CX clone teased that they should be asking Crosshair, because he already knows. His taunt was so malicious, like Crosshair was supposed to have all the answers.

But then Crosshair seemed genuinely confused at points. Like he did end up telling them what these operatives were, but it still feels like something is missing. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to deduce that these clones went through some reconditioning program to make them this way. Its a conclusion I think they could have arrived to without Crosshair's input.

But what if Cross is actually a Sleeper Agent? Like, the reconditoning ran so deep that he himself isn't aware, but it shows itself in these weird little tells, like being so nervous to be in the same room as the CX clone. I would even say that in this last episode, maybe that shot he missed was missed on purpose--the reconditoning overriding everything else. Crosshair thinks he missed the shot, but it was actually a latent decision. Another deliberate choice not to show his facial expression throughout this moment, because what might we have seen? Horror, sadness, anger over missing the shot? Oooor...maybe blank indifference as his reconditioning takes over and does whatever needed to be done to complete the mission.

And even in Extraction, when he goes hand-to-hand against the assassin...like no offense, but why Crosshair, when he's the weakest member in close quarter combat? It's almost as if he deliberately outs himself in that position because he feels compelled to.

What if his hand tremor is not just a psychological response, but also the reconditioning at work, trying to keep him from helping his brothers. Like trying to prevent him from aiding them in any meaningful way.

I don't really think anything will come of it, it's honestly just a feeling I have and an idea that I thought sounded kinda cool and angsty. I could write about it.

Anyway, these are my thoughts about Sleeper Agent Crosshair Theory, and if it somehow comes true, ya'll heard it here first XD
