You squirmed away from his grasp, shutting your eyes as you buried your face into his hand. You refused to be mind controlled by this... this giant clown! You could hear him laughing again, a sound that haunted your ears as you felt him tenderly stroke your back in a way that made your shiver. Your guard had been lowered into the ground and buried, allowing Shadow Milk Cookie to worm his way into your mind without any issues whatsoever. Your vision felt hazy, what were you doing again? Oh, right, staring into Shadow Milk Cookie's eyes... They really were pretty eyes, so many pretty shades of blue swirling around in them. But before that? ... Does it really matter? Shadow Milk laughed from above, his voice echoing all around the forest.

" There we go~! That wasn't so hard now, wasn't it Little Star?" He cooed, stroking your face gently with his hand. It was an almost tender motion, you weren't really sure what to make of it. I’ve been diving a bit back into Batman 66 for research, and this is the cliffhanger from the very first episode. As such:

Jesus Christ

For context: Batman had his drink spiked by one of Riddler's goons at a bar he was investigating in, and he realized this just in time to call Robin to his aid, but Robin was tranquilized and kidnapped by the Riddler's gang just as he left the car. The scene above is what happens almost directly after Batman does the Batusi, and together they kinda form a microcosm for the whole show: That it is super silly and played for laughs and done with tongue-in-cheek irony, but when you’re a kid or just suspend your disbelief more easily, this is all extremely real and serious, there’s hardly much that funny or campy about the plot here

Adam West is so good here, drugged and despairing and worried bad enough that his composure is gone. The scene is funny in one way, because it’s drunk Batman handing the keys to the Batmobile to the police because he’s too sloshed to drive, but it’s also fucking horrible, because he’s just been roofied and has to stand by as his partner / son is taken by very, very bad people who want to do very bad things to him and he’s completely helpless to do anything about it. I don’t think even the movies (outside of maybe The Batman’s scenes with Falcone) ever got this dark

Frank Gorshin is so fucking good here, so goddamn creepy. The episode itself pivots hard tone-wise to get to this cliffhanger and most of Riddler’s scenes beforehand were all fairly comedic, with him trying to destroy the Batmobile or handing Batman the lawsuit, but he ping-pongs masterfully between affable conversational charm laced with uncurable arrogance, smug satisfaction and high-pitched manic giggling that causes his whole body to spasm and bend and curdle like the laugh is going to leave his body, and then he just as frequently punctuates those with ice-cold homicidal whispering with not one bit of humor in it whatsoever, and he shuffles these three multiple times per scene or even dialogue

I wanted to more personally confirm the stuff people have said about his performance, that he was the only villain in the show who conveyed genuine, chilling menace (not sure if he’s the only one as of yet), that he was the blueprint that 70s-onwards Joker ripped everything from, and yeah, forget just the Joker, he feels like a baseline for so much of modern film supervillains on a scale maybe only matched by Heath Ledger’s Joker (that I can think of right now)

Batman really doesn’t break composure in this show that much and that’s part of the charm, which helps make these two first episodes and his desperation with Robin more notable. I know there’s one major scene in the movie where he goes berserk around the villains to protect his date, but I’m liking how this matches something that's a fairly consistent pattern with Batman media, from the early comics to this show to the cartoons even all the way to The Batman, which is The Riddler’s ability to fucking piss off Batman to the point his composure evaporates and he goes berserk with violence.

ohhhh okayyy. i feel like my opinions on a lot of the characters aren’t controversial because i dont feel super strongly towards anyone in any negative light but here are some i could think of at the top of my head:

i’m glad the malfoys faced more extreme backlash after the second wizarding war. a lot of people in the fandom seem to be very sympathetic towards draco and scorpius for getting dogpiled with the brunt of it (which yeah, it sucks, especially for scorpius) but the prejudice makes complete make sense to me. if i was someone who didn’t know scorpius’ character, and had someone from my family get killed in the second war due to death eaters or something— seeing the malfoys still be wealthy and walk around freely without any jailtime, i would be bitter too. they’re hated on but they’re still one of the richest families ever, so they’ll live LOL

another anon has asked about this and i haven’t responded to them yet but when i do i will link it here for my reasons. basically: the best character in the cursed child is harry potter. i think the way they wrote his character and ptsd carried the play. it was def his story, not albus’.

i do think dumbledore has some aspects of him that may be considered morally gray, but mostly i dont think he is. he does everything for the good of the world, and his complete selflessness leads him to sacrifice anything for it— even himself and the people he loves, when necessary. i completely understand why people wouldn’t agree with his methods though.

james potter isn’t a sunshine character he’s a dickhead. fans of him made him a golden retriever character to be more palatable for modern times. i like him the way he is: an asshole and then less of an asshole 👍 this is what true stanning looks like

pansy parkinson is racist and out of all the female side characters, developing HER is so questionable from fandom

harry had questionable descriptions about a lot of male characters to make people think he could be a little 🏳️‍🌈 there was bill, there was sirius, there was cedric. but draco is not a part of that list. harry was not feeling draco whatsoever throughout the series but drarry shippers cling to that one ‘obsessed’ line

furthermore, harry rejecting draco’s offer of friendship wasn’t a sad or a ‘what if’ scene. draco was being a classist piece of shit and harry didnt want to fuck with that, there isnt any way in any timeline he wouldve accepted draco’s friendship.

Dick Grayson: If there's one thing he feels proud of in life is the amount of love he has for you. He feels like no one else can love you like him and he knows you better than you know yourself. Thr first time he finds out that you really like a fictional character was when you both were having a movie night with the other Titans as a day for rest and relaxation since you guys need some chill in life. The movie you guys were watching was Rapunzel and you really liked the movie. You told Dick that you've wanted to grow your hair as long as Rapunzel when you were a kid and he pretended not to know about it but in fact he already did know about it since this sneaky son of a bish here already read your diary that mentioned it. He feels like there should be no secrets between the two of you since you're destined to be with each other and you're soulmates and one person. He knew you liked Rapunzel which was why he made the suggestion of watching it that day but what he wasn't prepared for was when you suddenly said "Damn Flynn be looking good" and he suddenly felt his heart skip a beat. What exactly did you mean by that comment? Garfield turned to you and spoke "Wait don't tell me you have a crush on him?"as he grinned in amusement as you shrugged your shoulders and replied "Believe it or not he was one of my childhood crushes" and Dick felt his hand twitch with irritation. Jason Todd: He doesn't become delusional and descend down the rabbit hole of madness and chasm of obsession right off the bat yet. There's still time for him to become delusional as hell and it all started when he first met you as Red Hood when he was patrolling the streets around Gotham. It was really late at night and you were coming back from the public library after doing some research for your Physics paper in college that would count for at least 50 percent of your grade. You really needed to work hard and up your game since your Physics professor was a hardass and had no chill in life whatsoever and you didn't want to flunk out of the class. You'd just gotten a headache after studying so much and you were looking forward to relaxing after you went home. You kept walking when suddenly you stopped in the middle of the road to rub your head for a few minutes and your eyes since your vision was starting to get blurred but that was a huge mistake on your part because a car was moving with a really high speed and the driver was honking at you to get out of the way. You'd have been literal roadkill had it not been for the Red Hood himself who pulled you out of harm's way. "W-whats going on?"you mumbled as he chuckled and replied "You're so tired you didn't even realize your life was in danger" and he offered to drop you off home since it was evident that you couldn't be trusted in such a condition. He made sure you were safe in your bed and felt bad when he saw you with no one else in your house. Was that why you weren't taking care of yourself properly and not sleeping early? Jason made sure you went to sleep and he wrote a note for you that said 'Take better care of yourself darling' and placed it near your bed table. The next morning when you woke up you saw the note and you smiled, it felt nice to have someone care for you

You were hoping to meet the Red Hood again the next day evening and sure enough you were lucky since you did end up meeting him. "I have a box of muffins with me that I made. Would you like some? You know, a way of saying a thank you from my side for saving me yesterday" and he was stunned. After all these years of protecting and looking after Gotham you were the first person who actually thanked him for his deeds. He felt happy since a really long time as he accepted it and thanked you for it. The next day you met Jason at the library but not as Red Hood, as regular Jason though and you both bonded over the books there. He offered to help you with some stories you were working on and he was like your second pair of eyes offering you constructive feedback of your works and he loved reading every line and word you've written

The two of you bonded over a period of time and you decided to have a movie night one day after your college's term finished. You invited Jason over and you already had snacks and drinks ready. Jason was just glad you didn't invite any of your pesky little friends over he despised them from the bottom of his heart. To him they were nothing but corrupt leeches who wanted to ruin you while he was protecting you from all the negative and bad things in the world. You didn't need to know all the dark stuff happening around you, and you can also thank him for the cancelation of your newspaper subscription. Who needs the news anyway, it's filled with utter nonsense and garbage these days anyway according to him

You both watched some movies and then this show called Supernatural popped up on your recommended list so you both decided to watch that. Jason actually liked Dean Winchester he thought he was cool and he could actually relate to his problems in a way. At first when you started gushing about Dean Winchester he didn't seem to mind. It was just a little fictional crush but when you told him that you had all the merchandise of his and you even had a freaking body pillow of Dean that's when things took another turn. Jason couldn't help but feel jealous and he knows it's silly being jealous of a fictional character but he can't help it. As selfish as he is, he wants you to think of him, the only man you'll ever need in your life. When Jason sees your body pillow of Dean Winchester his hand twitched with irritation and made a mental note to burn it to ash when you weren't noticing. He doesn't like it when you ignore him for your fictional characters, just pay him some attention as well and you're good to go but if you keep gushing about those fictional crushes of yours he might have to step in and when he does you'll have to say goodbye to your movie watching marathons

Tim Drake: I can imagine Tim actually vibing with you and your fictional characters that you're so fond of especially if they're anime characters. He really loves anime. You guys met online on Discord in an anime server when some random bozo was saying stuff like how Eren Yeager sucked in season 4 but you had a different take to that opinion and when you put forth your opinion you revived some major hate and backlash from that person calling you a dumb person and a bunch of other nasty names that made you feel pissed off. Fortunately for you, someone came to your defense and that someone was none other than Tim Drake himself. He called him out for behaving like a douchebag and basically started an internet flame war with that person. Then you thanked him for sticking up for you and you both chatted with each other for a while at a private chat room till you had to get going but you felt happy that you'd gained a new online friend. You both chatted with each other for a few weeks and you were ecstatic when you'd learnt that he went to the same school as you, Gotham academy and you were determined to meet him so you arranged for the two of you to meet at the music room of Gotham Academy too which he'd agreed

Truth was, Tim already knew who you were right off the bat without your knowledge. There's a reason he's called a whiz with technology you know. He was just keeping his identity anonymous to humor you and wanted to see your reaction when the guy sitting right next to you during your Advanced Calculus class was your online friend. You waited for your online friend to show up and sure enough he did and it was none other than Tim himself. Your eyes widened with surprise and you spoke "Tim, I can't believe you're the one I was talking to this whole time, this is amazing" you smiled and he felt glad you saw this as a positive scenario. The two of you had your lunch together and started spending more time with each other in person. The thing about Tim is that when he falls in love with someone, he falls in love really fast and hard. He loves someone with a lot of intensity and passion, words nor numbers couldn't describe the feelings he felt for you. He was also someone who believed in love at first sight and when he found out that you were his online friend from Discord he was extremely thrilled and his joy knew no bounds. Of course he had to keep you a secret from his brothers since they'd tease him and they'd try to flirt with you and steal you away from him which is something he doesn't want happening at all

He's so used to being the replacement in his life but for once he wanted to be selfish and have you for himself. He was growing obsessive over you and his affection for you might be deemed as suffocating for other people but you failed to notice the red flags in his behavior like him being clingy to you when you talked to someone else and when you you him about the guy who flirted with you during your biology lecture he got suspended for the possession of drugs that Tim may or may not have planted in his locker and anonymously tipped off a teacher. He was just trying to keep you safe in this dark and cruel world, and he should know how bad the world is because he's Red Robin

Your exams were done and you'd decided to have an anime marathon with him and he invited you over to the Wayne manor. Of course Dick, Jason and Damian were cocky when you'd shown up and started flirting with you just to tease and rile up Tim because watching him getting riled up was the amusement of the century according to them. Tim's face grew red and he 'accidentally' spilled some water on Dick and Jason as he stepped on Damian's foot and he dragged you inside to his room and shut the door. He could hear them snickering to themselves as Jason howled "Use protection" as he just rolled his eyes and you looked confused. "They're immature jerks, so should we get started?'' and you nodded as you watched animes like My hero academia, Haikyuu, Demon slayer, Bungou Stray dogs and many more. You wanted to watch Kakegurui as well but Tim didn't want you to taint your innocence and it was filled with some not so wholesome content according to him that wasn't suitable for your delicate eyes

You had some favorite characters from different Fandoms and the character you were really fond of was Daisuke Kanbe from the anime Millionaire detective balance unlimited. Tim could get why you liked Daisuke a lot and he vibes with your choice too. He will however get a tad bit jealous that you're not paying attention to him and he'll do something or the other to interrupt your anime fest and make sure you pay attention to him. Other than that he's actually pretty chill with you crushing over animme characters but like every other possessive yandere dude he will have to curb it and make you forget about your anime crushes if it gets too out of hand. He doesn't want to lose you to some Pixelated non existant 2D picture on a screen

BONUS: Damian Wayne: Oh boy, I can say for sure he won't be too happy about this whole ordeal of you simping for non existant Pixelated fiends according to him when you have THE heir of the Wayne family and the Al Ghul heir himself. It's been a few months since he's kidnapped you and taken you for himself and he had to do it you know. The first time he met you was when you were about to climb a huge rock ready to dive in because a puppy was drowning. As much as he was touched with your love and concern for animals he couldn't let you just endanger your life like that which was why he had to step in and do something before you'd ended up getting hurt. Damian raced to where you were about to jump and pulled you back in time and before you could say a word he dove in and rescued the puppy. The poor puppy had a bleeding paw and you let a soft gasp of despair when you saw its bleeding paw

You really loved animals and that sight just broke your heart. "I have a feeling someone must have done this to the poor thing, why else would a puppy intentionally go to the middle of the river if it doesn't know how to swim?" you asked Damian as you snuggled the little thing against you, the puppy grateful for the warmth it was receiving from you. "Take care of it and yourself too, I hope you don't do something as reckless as that ever again" said Damian with a serious note but you looked at him indignantly and replied "The poor thing would have drowned had I been a second late. Besides I know how to swim" you grumped a bit and Damian found it to be endearing and the two of you exchanged numbers and parted ways after that exchange took place. That night he wasn't able to forget about you and he made sure to visit the same place next day to make sure you and the puppy were doing all right. He didn't even know why he was so concerned about someone he just met but seeing you do something as reckless as that made him want to protect you and just wrap you with his arms so you couldn't endanger yourself. What were you making him feel?

Sure enough the next day Damian saw you and the puppy and he was glad to see it doing okay. The both of you spent some time together and you liked spending time with him. Though he had a stoic expression most of the times you could tell deep down he cared for other people. He took you to a Cafe where you both ordered something and you went to see Titus his dog. Titus seemed to take a liking to you immediately and the puppy too. Titus kept wandering near your legs and Damian thought it was adorable when he tried to place his paws up on you as if he was asking you to lift him up like a child. The puppy was a bit shy around him but Titus didn't seem to mind

Soon it was time for you to go home and Damian didn't want you to leave. He wanted you to stay with him and with a heavy heart he had to bid farewell to you. However it didn't mean that his mind and heart rested though, Gotham was a dangerous place and in the little time he's known you he's already taken a liking to you which meant that he's appointed himself as your guardian and protector to keep you safe from this twisted world and so day by day he kept stalking you and kept an eye on you to make sure you were all right

Finally he reached a point where his obsession could no longer be contained and he needed you like a dying man needing air so he kidnapped you and took you for himself. Does he regret it? Not an inch because the way he sees it is that you both are destined to be together forever. He felt his heart break when he saw you crying your heart out, begging him to please take you back and even after he bought you your puppy for company you still avoided him like the Corona virus. However you just started opening up to him recently and that was something he felt immensely thankful for. You finally saw that he loved you with all his heart and he wouldn't harm you and besides you were tired of being alone all the time

Currently the two of you were watching some shows together and you decided to watch Austin and Ally after you'd insisted. You loved Austin and Ally since you were a kid it brought back so many memories and when you accidentally let the fact slip that Austin used to be your childhood crush Damian felt like someone had knocked the wind out of his chest. Just what EXACTLY did you see in that immature blonde haired Walmart Ken ripoff he didn't know but he needed to make sure you'd forget about this Austin fellow effective immediately. Damian doesn't care if he's being petty, he doesn't want your heart getting stolen by someone else. Your heart is reserved only for him and he'll have various tactics to make you forget about Austin. He'll either make sure you watch something else that's different or when you try to see Austin and Ally he'll just start bragging and boasting about how much better he is than him and pin point and nit pick EVERYTHING wrong with Austin. Like mentioned before no man can steal your heart as long as he's with you

New wonder kid- Fermin Lopez

These last few months have been absolutely crazy and there was absolutely no warning or time to prepare. My boyfriend Fermin has played football for his entire life and he has been under Barcelonas academy for a long time as well. Over the preseason he began training with the first team which was a huge achievement for him and I was so incredibly proud but I could never have predicted what it would lead to. Fermin went on the preseason tour expecting to maybe get a few minutes at the end of games which he did but no one expected him to burst onto the scene and play so well. When he scored in the Classico I was so excited and proud of him I couldn't sleep that night. Since preseason Fermin has been with the first team for every game and I've never seen him so motivated every day when he goes to training. 

As much as it has been wonderful to see Fermin finally achieving his dreams all of this has brought about a lot of changes in our lives. The two of us have been together for a long time and him playing football has never really been a big deal sure he has training a lot and I will go to his games but it's never been more than that. Now with the media getting involved things have just spiralled out of control. People are always stopping Fermin in the street and asking him to sign things while he is driving to training. The change happened so quickly it's been hard to keep up let alone to cope with it all. Before we would happily go our together to do things or go on dates just like any other couple but now I'm too scared of what might happen to even go outside with Fermin. 

I have always just been a normal girl I went to school like everyone else and now I am studying at university. There is absolutely nothing interesting about me whatsoever my family don't have loads of money and they don't have hugely important jobs we are all just a normal family. This is why I'm so scared of being seen with my own boyfriend now as I just know people are going to try and find out everything they can about me and judge me for being a normal person. I have also never been a big fan of social media sure I use it occasionally but my life isn't on there so the thought of people possibly taking pictures of me and Fermin out together and putting them on social media scares me as then everything is out of my control. 

With Fermin's new schedule the two of us haven't had as many date nights as we usually would and when we do they are always us just chilling in the apartment together. This has been perfect as it has meant I haven't had to tell Fermin about my stupid fears or have him think I don't want to be with him anymore because I really do. However my luck is running out as recently Fermin has been begging me to go to one of the games and I'm beginning to run out of excuses, saying I have work to do can only get me so far before he starts to get suspicious. There is another home game this weekend which he has been begging me to go to as he scored in the teams last game and he wants me to be there to finally watch him play on the big stage in person. All week I've been telling Fermin that I would try and get my work done in time to be able to go which is just a coverup for me to either gather the confidence or come up with a better excuse, neither of which are going well. 

I had the day off of classes today so I have been working on assignments and just sitting and thinking for most of the day. I finished some of my work and have been chilling on my phone looking at football gossip pages which only makes me more anxious about my situation as I see what fans say about players rumours partners and wonder what they would say about me as I'm not a model like most other girl. Just as I was beginning to go down a deep rabbit hole the door opened and a tired looking Fermin came in. 

"Hi amor how was your day?" I asked 

"It was good but training was long and hard today" he said 

"How about you relax and I make us some dinner, what do you fancy?" I asked 

"Can we just sit for a bit first I've missed spending time with you" he said 

"Of course come and cuddle with me" I smiled opening my arms for him 

He laid down on my chest and I began to run my fingers through his hair which usually relaxes him but I could feel he was still a little tense which meant there was something on his mind still. Fermin is one of those who can worry about a lot of little things thats one of the things we are alike in so overtime I've learnt to know when its something I should be concerned about and when it isn't and this seems like something I should ask about. 

"What's on your mind Fer?" I asked 

"Do you still love me?" He asked right back 

"What of course I do I love you so much why do you ask" I said

"I just feel like you don't want to be around me anymore you used to always come to my games and now I can't get you to even come to one" he said 

"Oh amor I'm sorry if I made you feel like that but the reason is because I'm nervous everyone knows who you are now and thats great but I don't know if I'm comfortable with all the attention it would garner if we went out together" I explained 

"So you still want to go places with me you are just scared" he questioned 

"Yeah I've seen what fans say about all these models other players are dating and I'm just a normal person I'm not anything special so I don't even want to know what they would have to say about me" I said 

"I understand carino but I promise you that no matter what people think I know my feelings for you and nothing will change that I want to show you off and bring you along on this journey too so please come to the game this weekend I promise I'll do everything I can to protect you" he said 

"I trust you so I'll got but I can't promise that I won't be nervous" I laughed 

"I get that but I want you to have fun too" he said 

"I will definitely have fun I always do when watching you" I said

Today is finally match day and to be honest I think I'm more nervous than I am excited. This day has been on my mind all week and last night I didn't sleep at all because all I was thinking about was everything that could go wrong today and what people might be saying on social media after the game. I know it's such a stupid thing to worry about and in the grand scheme of things this moment won't matter especially when Fermin is celebrating winning trophies but right now it seems like a big deal. Before Fermin and I got together I was deeply insecure and he has helped me so much and now I'm in a much better place so I really don't want to go back but I can't control the comments and I certainly can't predict how I will cope with them. 

Since he woke up Fermin has been trying to keep me distracted and reassure me that everything will be ok. He is doing everything he can but today he can't beat the demons that still live in the back of my brain. As much as I admired my fears to him I never told Fermin the full extent of my worries as he worries about me enough already and he needs to be focused for the game so I don't want him to have anything extra on his mind. If he knew he'd tell me that he doesn't care and he just wants to help me but I care about him too much to have him stressing about me when I can cope on my own. 

The day felt like it went by at lightening speed and before I knew it Fermin was telling to to get ready as we needed to leave. Once we got in the car Fermin's hand grabbed mine straight away and he held it tightly squeezing it every now and then to reassure me. Most of the drive was fine but as we got close to the training ground there was a lot more fans in the streets who all had their phones out taking pictures and filming. That's when it really hit me that there is no going back now from now on I'll be known as Fermin's girlfriend and some people will actually care about what I do. I could feel myself getting more and more anxious as we got closer to the training centre and there was so many people on the pavements and in the road it was just very overwhelming. 

Finally when the car stopped I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding as well as I sigh of relief knowing that the worst part was over. I was so in my own world that I didn't hear Fermin talking to me until he put his hand on my cheek and turned me to face him. For some reason I expected him to be mad at me for not listening or for getting anxious but his expression was soft and his eyes had a loving look in them. 

"Are you ok amor?" He asked 

"I'm ok now that was intense I can't believe you deal with that everyday" I said

"You get used to it but do you promise you are ok" he said 

"Yeah I promise thank you for holding my hand it made it a lot easier" I replied 

With that he got out the car and ran around to open my door for me like he always does so we could head inside before the team head off to the stadium. Fermin got permission from Xavi to let me come on the coach with them because he didn't want me to have to go alone which I'm glad about as having to navigate the stadium on my own sounds stressful. He promised that he wouldn't leave me on my own at any point so when we got inside he text Gavi who was already ready to leave and he waited with me while Fermin got ready himself. I have known Gavi for the longest time but with him playing for the first team I don't get to see him as much as I used to so by actually going places with Fermin I should get to spend more time with some old friends. 

"Good to see you again hermana how have you been? Gavi asked

"I've been good busy with school as usual what about you?" I replied 

"Same as always I'm glad you agreed to come Fermin has been so happy ever since plus its nice to have you around" he said 

"Thats sweet I'm glad he's excited" I smiled thinking about Fermin 

"I know you're nervous but I promise everything will be fine the other girlfriends know you're coming and they can't wait to meet you plus once the fans get to know you there is no way they can hate you and if they do there is something wrong with them" he said 

"Thanks gavi I really appreciate you saying that" I said 

After that Fermin came rushing out and grabbed my hand again so we could get on the bus. The trip luckily wasn't long and once everyone was inside I met all of the other wives and girlfriends who were at the game and we all sat together getting to know each other. The longer I was there the more I began to relax as they have all been through this before and they are all ok and happy in their relationships which made the future seem not so scary. They were all so lovely and made me feel instantly welcome in the group they even added me to their group chat so we could all meet up at some point. 

Before I knew it the game had begun and was over the team win and Fermin scored an important goal. I was so proud of him and I couldn't wait to see him so I rushed down to greet him after he was ready. As soon as I saw him I jumped into his arms which he wasn't expecting but he still managed to catch me and stay on his feet. I don't think either of us could have a bigger smile on our faces even if we wanted to I was so over the moon that he scored and he was so happy he could've done it with me there. Even when he scored he dedicated the goal to me like he always used to which made the moment so special to the point that I didn't care when the camera pointed towards me. I kissed him a few times before he put me down and we made it back outside to team bus so we could finally go home which I can't wait for as it's been a long day.

As always Fermin's alarm woke me up even though it's Sunday because he's insane and likes to get up and go to the gym. Usually I go back to sleep straight away especially on a weekend but today I sat up and grabbed my phone because I wanted to look at what was being said after yesterday. I know Fermin posted a picture of us so that any rumours were cleared up straight away but I haven't seen it so I wanted to just look at everything. I had only just unlocked my phone when Fermin came back in from the bathroom and took it right out my hands. 

"Sorry but I think it's best if you don't look at this today" he said 

"I'll be fine I promise" I said trying to convince him to give my phone back 

"Not happening I'm keeping home of this today and you can have it back when things have calmed down tomorrow if anything important happens I will tell you" he said 

"Are things really that bad?" I asked 

"No most comments are nice I just don't want you searching for the few bad comments" he says 

"You know me too well" I laughed 

"How about you come to the gym with me and we spend the day together so you are distracted plus I have missed your cuddles" he said 

"I very much like that idea" I replied

I played overcooked with my brother today and it gave me this idea. It’s a bit niche but who cares? I don’t ✨

Sam:

-will scream the entire time

-starts off chill, grows more and more stressed the longer you play

-“I’M THE RACOON GUY!”

-has no fucking plan whatsoever, don’t even try to explain a plan to him

-just go with the flow with him… it is all chaos anyway

-overall not the best at the game, but he is the most fun to play with out of all 6 bachelors

Sebastian:

-he is the opposite of Sam…maybe not entirely

-so he’s really strategic

-will scream the entire time as well (don’t take it personally, he’s s just very passionate about it)

-he’s the grumpy dark cat lol

-loves the very hard levels with the changing kitchens because then he can plan out how you go about it entirely. As I said, he’s a very passionate gamer

-you’ll play the levels over and over again till you have 3 stars…so buckle up 😼

Harvey:

-the last time he played any video game was when he was a child and had a Nintendo 64 🤷🏼‍♀️

-sooo,,,he’s really not good 😭

-he is a well-tempered person, but OH BROTHER

-run for the hills when he loses at video games

-such a sore loser, he’s so eager to beat the levels but he isn’t that good at coordinating his character which puts him in a very rarely-seen temper tantrum

-he’s not really the gamer type, soooo he has no clue what he’s doing

-but surprisingly, he is not too bad

-in fact, he gets the hang of it really fast for a guy who never plays video games

-not related to the game, but he loves it when you sit in his lap while playing 🥰 he likes having you close

-since there isn’t one character that really looks like him, he’s taking the narwhal or some other sea creature,,, he just thinks they are neat 🤷🏼‍♀️

-will be so proud of you when you manage to beat a level with 3 stars

-he’s one of the younger bachelors, but video games? It’s not his forté

-he was the kind of kid to play outside, he was rarely in his room doing something…so he isn’t that good 😅

-he is like your grandma who just got her first smartphone

-he doesn’t really get anything and is really just bumming about, so you carry the both of you to at least 2 stars

-he’s very competitive though; so he’ll still try to be good for you (and his ego)

Sober or Stoner: Hazbin Hotel Headcanons

From somebody who snorts it up my nose every weekend, who do I think does this too?

NOTES: This includes everybody at the hotel + Lucifer and Cherri. I will do the Vee's and perhaps other important characters like the angels and the other overlords, but for now, that's not the case.

WARNINGS: Mentions of Drug Use, Mentions of Angel's Backstory, Maybe slight OOC.

Charlie - No, I'd say mostly sober. She wouldn't want to do it for the most part because she just thinks drugs = bad. She might try it if a lot of her friends are doing it together, and if she did a lot of research about the positive effects of marijuana. Doesn't smoke, only edibles. If she decided to, Vaggie would be taking care of her the whole time. She gets all snuggly and very lovey-dovey platonically with her friends or romantically with Vaggie. When she gets a good idea and tries to work, nobody can understand her idea because she's talking so much so fast.

Vaggie - I'd say no, sober. She's the caretaker, the one who has to be ready when somebody tries something stupid. She would be on her guard the whole time if Charlie wasn't constantly trying to cuddle her and love her. She has to drop whatever she is doing just to hold Charlie. If she did do it, I don't think she'd like it. She just doesn't like being that vulnerable for that amount of time. She would definitely just want to be around Charlie IF she was high. Is supportive towards Charlie. Puts everybody in their place if they get too out of control.

Angel Dust - Yes, Occasionally. Weed is like a side dish to him. It's one of the drug that he doesn't get hopped on while recording because its too weak for him. But is kind of fucking with it? Is willing to give it a shot with everybody at the hotel because it appeals to his interests. Sort of also becomes a caretaker too? But mostly to Niffty, not really wanting anybody to end up hurt. Probably barricade's the exit to the hotel so she can't get out. Very honest. Will shittalk Val to Cherri and Husk.

Alastor -No. Sober. Next Question. He doesn't like it whatsoever. He is a drinker, not a smoker. He does like to watch these buffoons act like idiots on it tho, he doesn't really like to talk to anybody while their on it, unless it's important. He wouldn't turn down Charlie of Niffty. If he's feeling social, he likes to fuck with people on it. Purposely scares everyone with his powers, only for him to lean back like "Just kidding! I could though! :)".

Husk - Occasionally. He'd definitely try it, even if he wasn't happy about Angel doing it. He went into it thinking he'd definitely be the one watching over Angel, but it turned out that Angel is gonna be watching over him. He smokes, but just not weed, so his intolerance is pretty low. He's definitely the one bitching to everyone, especially Angel, about anything he can think of, but he's smart enough not to bitch about Alastor when he's right there, sober or not. He doesn't like sitting still, so he wanders the hotel.

Niffty - Fucking god. Occasionally. - She hasn't done it, she would but nobody lets her smoke. She has accidentally pounded like 4 full brownies that somebody left out though. Everybody thought that she would be up and about, completely out of control, but she just sits, doesn't move or talk, just chills (if you can call that chilling). It's a creepy sight for somebody who isn't already used to it. Occasionally, she will say the scariest shit known to man and then just go back to zoning out like nothing happened.

Sir Pentious - Mostly no, but occasionally. Did it because Cherri Bomb did it. Gets the most fucked out out of everybody. He will NOT stop talking. Sir, i love you, but please shut up. Much like Charlie, he also gets really emotional, especially to his Egg Boiz. They help deal with him a lot more than you would think. Alastor commands them to never leave his side because he knows they still listen to him. He also tries harder to flirt with Cherri, he's still bad, if not worse, but it's entertaining. Sometimes just doesn't know what's going on.

Cherri Bomb - YES. She's definitely toned down, this is not her first rodeo. She just tolerates everything, even Sir Pentious' terrible flirting. Later into the night when she's really high, she even finds it a bit endearing. She would definitely vibe with Niffty as she comes up with her creepy shit, Cherri just gets very interested in her, in a similar way to Alastor is. Tries to get everyone to do funny stuff with her like Karaoke, but the only ones who take her up on it is Sir Pentious and Charlie. Probably brought edibles.

Lucifer - Occasionally. Has he tried it? Years ago. Is he a stoner? I don't think so. If he somehow did it, again, would need a little supervision. Would probably cry to Charlie non-stop, they stick together. This is the only time Vaggie would get a break. He'd do stupid shit too, like hide rubber ducks all around the hotel. That is purely to piss off Alastor because Charlie doesn't want him to fight, but it doesn't really work. Gets the munchies like no other. He will have to restock the hotel food supply when he's done. Did it a lot with Lilith when they were together.

Now that the drama is over, I wanted to post a little post of appreciation for FL's painter friend, aka Broccoli, because this character was yet another way in which L&P deviated from cliches.

When we first meet him, before the flashback, I was thinking he was going to be a typical secondary male lead - interfering and clingy and irritating. And then...no.

In fact, he's not really a part of any love triangle whatsoever and it becomes clearer and clearer as it goes on that he is a good friend to FL who actually is not in any way interested in chasing her romantically. He would be happy to have her as a permanent live together platonic bestie, no more no less.

He is of the "right class" and instinctively snobby (his warning to FL about ML back in college days, when he met the man for three seconds, is completely based on that - he doesn't otherwise know LX) but he is a supportive friend who is also capable of changing his opinions. He helped her through her depressed abroad period, he's completely not judgmental about her choices (he made his opinion known once, she decided to proceed anyway, and he actually went 'you are an adult, your choice, I can help if you like' - the reaction you'd expect and want from her family, she got from him.) In fact, when she orchestrates that huge and lengthy deceit of her awful fam in order to work with ML and help him get the company back, he is the one who backs up her lies and is her knowing and willing excuse.

And, the best thing is, he is not doing it because he's in loooove with her, and is hoping his being supportive will open her heart or even because he's so in love because he can deny her nothing. He's doing it because they are friends and he wants her happy and sure he'd enjoy continuing to hang out in a chill fashion but he is not pining and has zero interest in chasing her romantically. He is actually as platonic with her as Li Xun is with Ren Di. I honestly think if ZY ever told him she fancied him, he'd be taken aback. (Any marriage they'd have, they'd only have sex the minimum amount of times necessary to have kids and that's it, that's the vibe I get.)

He, I think, learned a lesson from how hard she broke after Li Xun went to jail - if you care for her, you want to make sure she is happy, whatever that happiness means to her because he sees what happens when she breaks. He doesn't have to like Li Xun himself and clearly he and Li Xun will never be besties (though they've both mellowed towards each other by the end), but he wants ZY happy and functional and if it means Li Xun, fair enough, especially since he doesn't really want her the same way himself. I mean - he never lies or does anything else that would hinder the OTP; in fact he's the one who bluntly tells LX about ZY's depression because he's angry on her behalf and he wants to get through LX's thick skull for ZY's sake (and it does get through, it's a hugely helpful to the OTP thing he does.)

And I really really love his exit from the story - it's basically summed up as "well, can't say I am shocked you are not going back with me overseas, enjoy your company and your dude, who's actually not as terrible as I thought, see you later when I am back in the country sometime." I can see him in the future as a bit of a chill art uncle to any kids the OTP have, enjoying a very small dose of the chaos before peacing back out.

Anyway, I really liked what they did with the character, and what they didn't do.

Child of Aphrodite Nico au in which Will is put through trails like Psyche in order to prove his dedication to Nico. Thoughts?

Will and Apollo bonding over having to overcome trials. Will fighting for his love whereas Apollo fighting his exes. Brilliant. He is really his father's son.

Anw this reminds me of that one Child of Aphrodite! Nico fanfic wherein Cupid calls him "Mother's favorite" or brother or st like that.... It's fun. It gets me thinking, where do Cupid and Psyche stand in all of this? Are they supportive? I think they would be, even though their support doesn't always promise good things...

On another note. Idk if you notice but like. Will is a child of Apollo. And Apollo and Cupid might have... beef? In the myth, I mean. It's about Daphne and the origin of the laurel tree, you know? That time Apollo looks down on Eros' archery and in retort, Eros shoots a gold arrow at Apollo and a bronze one at Daphne, which then leads to the whole... tragic love chase or whatever.

Sorry. The whole thing is also the inspiration for a Solangelo fanfic of mine so I can't help but bring that up LMAO. What I'm trying to say is that this can shine a new light on this scenario. Does it make Cupid/Eros more bitter or lenient?

Onto the story itself. Now this is an exciting part. In the original myth, Psyche has to go through four trials, three of which are finished with the help of outside forces, the last of which is -I just looked it up- retrieving Persephone's cream. I can alr see many references, really.

The first thing that popped into my head was that we could put other characters into the roles of Will/Psyche's helpers, which then translates into all the connections either Will or Nico possibly have made in all those years of demigod life.

For instance, in the 3rd task of the original myth, an eagle helped Psyche fill a crystal vessel with the water of the spring that feeds the Styx and Cocytus. Who does it remind you of? Who has access to the Underworld and has connections to an eagle symbol?

Hazel. That's who. And I really don't know how you intend to mortify their dynamics now that Nico isn't a child of Hades, but Imma assume they are sibling-like still bc fuck it, they are my religion. The point is Hazel might help Will, if only for her brother.

I suppose I don't have to talk much about how Will's gonna fetch Persephone's cream bc Rick makes it pretty obviously LMAO. They are chilling in the Underworld garden sunbathing (Will being the sun) covered in Persephone's suncream or st Idk. Will has this so much easier than Psyche.

In the end, Cupid rescues Psyche from the deep sleep of the underworld cream. This can be translated into Nico realizing that someone is truly fighting to be with him, and he wants to make an effort to meet them in the middle, but that's just me running into a dead-end bc idk how Will's gonna fall asleep if Persephone is alr so kind lending him the cream and that kid def doesn't dream about getting more beautiful like Psyche did or whatsoever. So. Idk. Maybe Cupid messes it up? I would if I were him, ngl. But that's just me.

Thoughts are jumbling around in my mind but life doesn't always give what we want so I guess this is all I can offer atm LMAO. this is a good foundation for a long-chaptered Solangelo child of Aphrodite!Nico fanfic if you ask me, ngl.

I'm going to be honest and say that I do not give a single fuck about the Federation and the workers. And why would I? they were the main villains a couple of months ago but now I'm supposed to feel bad because Fred, who admitted to know about quackity's torture and apparently participated in whatever happened to either Antoine or Pierre (I don't remember right now), is dead? I'm sorry for Tubbo, but I laughed when I saw it.

It is so ridiculous to me that now, after months of hating the Federation, some islanders want to defend the workers. Or how now I'm supposed to feel empathy for the organisation that has kidnapped, torture, brainwashed and killed people.

And now, with the addition of the eye guy, we have three (four, if you count the residents. something not even the admins seem to be doing lately) different factions that we know nothing about. What's the Federation goal and motives? who knows. What does the Rebellion want and what are the codes? keep watching to find more cryptic books that explain not a thing. The fuck is going on with the eye guy, what does he want? wouldn't you like to know that.

It feels as if the residents now have to seat and watch passively and just accept whatever happens, because no matter how much they might what to try, their actions won't affect the story whatsoever.

sorry for the long rant, I'm really passionate about the server but since the eggs' disappeared i've only been disappointed with its direction

I feel like people have seen a few of the workers act chill and decided that all the workers are doing their jobs against their wills and that they’re all good people being forced to do bad things. And, sure, some workers are like that, like Walter Bob. But also? Many of them aren’t. It’s a complex situation, but we the audience have only seen a handful of workers. We haven’t even scratched the surface! Because like. What about the guys who pulled out Child Baghera’s feathers? What about that mysterious thing the Federation had that scared Child Cellbit to the point of abandoning his beloved sister in a panic and trying to swim away from Point goddamn Nemo? When Child Cellbit said, “Don’t trust the workers”, he meant all of them, and he was such an optimistic kid that he had to have had a GOOD reason to say that

Like when people say that it’s wrong for Cellbit to kill all these workers I obviously agree because Murder Is Wrong. But also?

THE FEDERATION IS ACTIVELY HOLDING EVERYBODY ON THIS ISLAND HOSTAGE

Nobody would’ve gone to Purgatory if they weren’t on the island. The Brazilians legitimately crashed by accident and weren’t allowed to leave. The Feds purposefully sabotaged the French’s plane. Every single hardship the islanders have faced since the start of the series is because the Federation essentially kidnapped them and they’re holding them hostage and torturing and killing and brainwashing them. They’re literal human experiments! Why would I feel bad for the organization actively breaking literally just So Many Geneva Conventions?

Like, sure, Fred liked Tubbo, but Fred also enjoyed Quackity being tortured and brainwashed. Fred helped operate on Pierre. Fred seemingly had connections with the Eye and Cucurucho.exe. It sucks that they’re dead, but like. Okay? I feel bad for Tubbo, but Fred knowingly helped torture and possibly even kill who knows how many individuals over their time with the Federation. They were a higher-up. They had some amount of free will.

So do the regular workers, actually, because these Fed Streams have showed us that the workers have personalities. We know that there are rebels in the workforce. There’s an office culture. Workers sabotage Federation equipment (ie the coffee machine) and get away with it.

The workers (outside of Walter Bob) only started having personalities in September after the eggs disappeared, and on a meta level it’s because the admins A) wanted something to do and B) because the writers suddenly needed to show how incompetent the Feds apparently are because like. The Eye, ig. And people only started caring when the workers were dying, which only ended up villainizing both q and ccCellbit yet again (because the fandom’s favorite hobby is hating Brazilians.)

Skeleton is going on a trip with his S/O for two weeks and so lets his child to his brother for a while. How does it go?

Undertale Sans - Pretty good. Sans is already pretty close from his nephew/niece, he's actually happy he gets to have some alone time with them for two weeks. Sans is just happy to not be alone in his house actually. He's taking the kid to the beach and the mall, and even to Disneyland. He's buying them new toys and ice creams. He still can't cook a proper dinner though, to the point they're dining at Toriel's place almost every night lol. He's actually a little sad when Papyrus comes to pick them up. It was fun.

Undertale Papyrus - He's very happy to have his niece/nephew! Well, it's obvious to him now that the kid picks up after their dad, sleeping in the morning and everything, but that won't stop Papyrus to take them running in the morning (on his back, most of the time), and have fun with Undyne and Alphys a few days a week, hiking or to have lunch in the park. Papyrus plays the cool uncle, he wants Sans to be so impressed.

Underswap Sans - Lord have mercy. Blue took the kid only because Asgore was not here either. Even if he loves his nephew/niece, he was really fine just seeing them once a week or something. This is a bit too much for him. Funnily enough, Honey's kid is his mirror: super energetic and impossible to convince to just lie down for five minutes. Blue is having anxiety as they keep running on the road without a warning or playing with sharp knives in the kitchen. He needs a break. Someone saves him. He keeps repeating himself it's only for two weeks and counts the days, grinding his teeth.

Underswap Papyrus - The kid is actually already closer from his uncle than his father, which is a little sad, but that's how it is. It doesn't change anything for Honey, who considers them like his own kid already. They're always hanging out together, it's just extra time together.

Underfell Sans - The kid is happy his dad is not there and tends to get a little too much at home for Red's taste lol. They're a little monster, pranking him, running away in the crowds, randomly jumpscaring their uncle behind the corners just to see him screech in terror... Red wants the two weeks to end lol. He loves his nephew/niece but they're too much to handle for one skeleton and he certainly doesn't have Edge's natural authority to lecture them efficiently. They know he won't say anything and so just keep tormenting him for the rest of the week :')

Underfell Papyrus - He can't believe how much swear they know and he's so mad at this. Other than that, he's a pretty chill uncle as long as the kids behave. They know better anyway. Uncle Edge is less merciful than his brother and more strict naturally. The kids are little angels for two weeks. Red is shocked none of them were bad actually. That's witchcraft.

Horrortale Sans - He's using the kid as emotional support lol. He feels betrayed and abandoned by Willow and he's not living it well. Willow dropped him at Grillby's place for the two weeks with his nephew/niece. Oak is pouting the entire first week, and the second, he's acting like his brother doesn't exist lol. He's warming up to the kid though and they spend some time together, even if it's hard because Oak can't really help with their basic needs. When Willow is coming to fetch them, Oak still pretends he's not there and refuses to move. He's mad.

Horrortale Papyrus - He's more nervous about Oak being all alone in the wild with his human than about the kids. He loves the kids, and he's already taking care of them every day anyway. Nothing really change, except he's a nervous wreck through all the two weeks.

Swapfell Sans - Pranks. Pranks and mess everywhere. Rus kids are the worse. They're like Rus, but somehow with even more energy. Nox is screeching all day long after them but they're immuned to his big eyes and his big voice. He has no authority whatsoever on them. Nox is resigned after the first week. He knows his house is a battlefield, but at least he still has coffee. Until that tragic day when his precious baby served him blue paint coffee and he lost his mind, screaming and rolling on the floor. He's going to tell Rus what he thinks of his education techniques lol.

Swapfell Papyrus - He's terrified. His niece tied him to a small chair so tight he can't actually move and she's forcing him to drink muddy water as she wants to have a tea party with him. This is torture. That kid is not normal. Rus is traumatised, the kid keeps imagination the weirdest game possible, straight up torturing him or drawing on his face for fun. Someone comes to his rescue please... He needs help.

Fellswap Gold Sans - Wine didn't sleep the entire two weeks as he was terrified something bad could happen to the child. He's guarding them with his life, refusing them to spend even two minutes on their own lol. He's not used to having children around, he's stressed as hell but he doesn't want to disappoint his brother. He's a terrible uncle, he has no idea what he is doing and that's the first time he shows vulnerability lol. Please, Coffee, come home early. He's going to die.

Fellswap Gold Papyrus - Welp, Wine doesn't have children so he takes care of himself and that's already a lot, trust me. I mean, he's not sure how he's going to explain Wine why there is no kitchen any more. He might have put foil into the microwave and it exploded...

Over-analyzing the shit out of “Meet The Spy”

- You’re insane if you said you suspected Scout. The writers of this short did a good job hiding the fact that this was Red Spy in disguise at the time. The whole narrative of deceiving the audience is a perfect way to bring out the character’s affects on people and to show how much of a threat he really is.

- Speaking of which, what makes the character even more horrifying is the Spy’s general ability to seemingly psychoanalyze people around him. Blu spy (subjectively) shows signs of suspecting the disguised Scout, and Red spy roleplays as Scout so accurately, right down to his over the top ignorance and pretending to cut himself with the blade of his own butterfly knife. He couldn’t have done this without throughly gathering information on his own teammates. Creepy mf.

- Speaking of that scene where Red Spy pretends to cut himself, the whole action itself is GENIUS writing. Not only are the other mercs being deceived into thinking this is the real Scout, but the audience is as well. Because no spy would do such a terrible job demonstrating a basic opening balisong trick. Only someone as over his head and stupid as Scout would pick a weapon up too confidently without thinking twice and then promptly cut himself with it.

- After Scout sends a random storm of insults Blu spy’s way; he then adds “No offense..” At the end. If you watched this short the first time you wouldn’t have caught it, but this random proclamation at the end is Red spy’s own self awareness and sarcasm shining through. Showing how ironic it is that he’s indeed resorting to insulting himself in order to pass off. He doesn’t think that about himself at all; let’s be honest. This isn’t enough to be a slip up because it has double implications. You can also interpret this as Scout not wanting to get on Blu spy’s bad side. Red Spy knows how to choose his words wisely.

- Blu spy’s “I can assure you, they weren’t like me.” Is another double implication. It could be either seen as passive aggressively objecting against Scout’s insults, or even threatening the Red Spy he suspects might be disguised as Scout. Lots of fucking social mind games here for the audience to try and understand.

- When Scout sees the Blu spy’s head get blown clean off, he reacts as if he’s shocked at soldier’s lack of impulse control. Not only did Red spy deduct pretty quickly he had to react like this in a spilt second, but also you can notice his mask beginning to slightly falter in this scene as he realizes his main competition was now gone. The way he steps forward to check if Blu spy is truly dead is way too off-putting and doesn’t fit Scout’s typical body language whatsoever.

- Finally, Scout’s expression turns into a dead fucking hard gaze once he realizes he has the perfect opening here, now that soldier and heavy are distracted. This gave me chills as a kid. Then the disguised Red Spy throughly demonstrates he’s fully capable of doing a knife trick. The camera is right at his hand and makes sure to place emphasis on this moment as realization slowly sets in for the audience that they’ve been completely misled this entire time.

- Red spy finishes Blu spy’s sentence before he got blasted to smithereens. Showing once again how ironic the situation is, perfectly balancing ironic humor and the feeling of pure terror. “Right behind you.” Comes off more raw than it should. Emphasis on this line is done perfectly by Dennis Bateman. Sounds both like a velvet whisper, and a snake hissing before striking. 10/10 acting here.

the misadventures of peony

aka the fic that shouldn't exist (tm) it's done! this cracky "little" "should have been hammered out in one night" fic is done! thank you to @narcissusbrokenmirror for the idea and granting me coparenting rights. i hope I did peony right by you! tagging @legolasghosty @innytoes and @jmrothwell with NO pressure whatsoever to read! Y'all were my ask box cheerleaders (thank you) so if you were waiting to see this, here ya go!

“No, you guys. We don’t have enough room. We don’t have enough time. We can’t get a dog!” Luke looks between all four of his friends and roommates, each sporting their best puppy dog faces, and he sighs before waving them off and turning away, “And put those away. It’s not fair.”

“But Luke! We’ll take care of it! We promise!” Reggie pleads, clasping his hands in front of him to really sell his point.

“Dude, you forget that I TRIED THAT! For years. And literally never once actually followed through on it. We aren’t home enough.”

Alex decides it’s his turn to try, “But you were a kid! We’re all adults!”

He’s met with a chorus of “yeah”s from the group and Luke rolls his eyes.

“No.”

Everyone huffs in frustration as they resign themselves to his veto vote. They’d agreed that decisions like this needed to be unanimous but they don’t have to be happy about the results.

“But what if... what if it wasn't a dog?” Willie asked.

“What do you mean?”

"What about... a bunny?"

Luke rolls his eyes, "You know just because it lives in a cage doesn't mean it's less work than a dog, right? No.”

"So that's a no on a hamster too?" Reggie chimes in

“Yes Reg, that's a no on the hamster too.”

“Damn.”

“What about... a bird? They’re chill,” Willie tries again.

“We're not getting a fucking bird, Willie.”

“A lizard? Oh! One of those bearded dragons! Those are cool.”

Luke glares at them, “No dragons.”

Willie's face falls into a mock pout. "It doesn't even breathe fire!" they exclaim pitifully. 

This time, Alex joins Luke in glaring at Willie. “Really?” he chastises them.

Willie offers an unabashed shrug in response.

"What's the lowest maintenance pet we can think of?" Reggie asks in an exaggerated whisper.

Julie huffs, "A goldfish."

“No water!” Luke cries.

“Why not?” Julie counters harshly, hands on her hips. They’re all a little bit frustrated with how stubborn Luke is being and it’s unfortunately starting to break through.

“We have way too many electronics for water to be a good idea. We do NOT need another Reggie fixing his amp in the rain situation.”

“Dude, it's contained in a TANK,” Willie explains. 

“You are seriously no fun,” Reggie quips as he fiddles with his sleeves.

Willie's eyes widen as he comes up with a new idea.

Luke sighs before Willie even opens his mouth. "No."

WIllie's face falls into another pout. "You don't even know what I was going to say!"

“I don't need to. No.”

“You only need to feed snakes like once a week. And there's no water,” he pauses to consider his words before continuing. “Well, almost no water. And they're PRETTY!”

Luke’s face pinches in confusion, "What?!"

"A ssssssnake. We should get a snake."

"A snake? Seriously?"

"Yeah, people have them as pets all the time. And they're super chill and low maintenance. Look!" Willie pulls out their phone and starts typing. He stops and turns his phone around for Luke. “See?”

Julie crowds in behind Luke and coos over the picture on the top of the screen.

After giving Luke a moment to read, she plucks Willie's phone out of his hand. Julie walks around to Alex and Reggie showing it to them.

Reggie's jaw drops and a contemplative look crosses Alex's face.

"Willie has a point, you know," Alex says after a moment.

"How do you mean?"

"We could have a super cool, super fun pet. It's low maintenance enough that we could ask Carlos to feed it like once a week when we're away. We don't need to take it out for walks. Just... clean the tank every once in a while."

Luke groans, "Are you serious? Can we at least sleep on the idea of it before we start talking about it?"

Reggie grins, "So you're saying we can talk about it?"

Luke offers a resigned sigh, “Tomorrow.”

That earns Luke whooping cheers from everyone else. He can't help the small quirk of his lips at their excitement but quickly returns his face to its solemn expression before they can notice. 

“Can we get back to rehearsal now?” he asks once the others have started to calm down.

“Sir! Yes, sir!” Reggie salutes. He’s met with an eye roll from Luke and laughter from the others but they quickly find their positions, picking back up where they’d left off before being derailed by the pet talk.

They’d agreed, some with more resistance than others, that this was for the best. Reggie and Julie didn’t need to know EVERYTHING and it was fine.

Except that when Willie got home with that week’s meal for Peony, he was surprised to find both Reggie and Julie hanging out with her. 

Reggie notices Willie’s entrance and lights up. He eyes the package in Willie’s hands and nudges Julie. She turns and directs a smile Willie’s way.

“Whatchu got there?” she asks, pointing at the box.

“Uh, nothing?” They reply awkwardly as he tries to shield it from them. 

“Uh huh, convincing,” Reggie says with a grin. He takes a few steps toward Willie, who moves backwards each time Reggie gets closer. 

Julie looks between the guys and lets a mischievous grin take over her own face. “Is it something we can’t see?” she asks carefully.

“No?” Willie answers, cursing himself for apparently completely losing the ability to lie at some point in the last five minutes. He puts the box behind his back for good measure.

Julie joins Reggie’s mission to solve the mystery of the box. She swoops behind Willie to grab it from their hands. 

Willie sighs in resignation as he watches her peel back the lid. 

Julie squeals in excitement as she holds the box out to Reggie. “Look at it! It’s so cuuuute!”

Reggie joins her and lets out a squeal of his own. 

They fawn over the mouse for a moment before turning to look up at Willie.

“How’d you convince Luke?” Julie asks.

“Uhhhhh, I didn’t?” he tries and Julie narrows her eyes at him but otherwise accepts their answer. Apparently she has better things to do than interrogate them. She returns her attention to the mouse. 

Willie runs a hand down his face as he muffles a sigh. They know this is going to end poorly. He lets Reggie and Julie take their time cooing over the small animal while he tries to figure out how to get them back out of the house so he can feed Peony.

They send a quick text off to Alex and Luke who promptly respond with a plan. A few moments later, Reggie’s phone rings and he’s ushering Julie out of the house on whatever errand Luke had sent them on.

They somehow manage to make it a few more weeks without any questions from Reggie and Julie. The half-lie that Luke didn’t let the mice stay seemed to do most of the heavy lifting for them and casual deflection worked for the rest. Until it didn’t.

Julie and Reggie burst through the door with a very resistant Carlos in tow.

“I told you I don’t want to!” he exclaims as he struggles against them.

“Just come meet her!” Julie insists as she gives another tug of his wrist.

“She’s a sweetheart,” Reggie adds, “you’ll love her.”

“Just give her a chance!” Julie pleads. She turns her most powerful puppy dog eyes on Carlos. He rolls his eyes back at her. She sighs. Right, sibling immunity. She nudges Reggie who immediately takes the hint. 

He widens his eyes with his most pathetic expression and it’s Carlos’ turn to sigh, “You can show her to me. But I’m staying back here.”

“Yes!” Julie cheers. She turns toward the room, confused by the sight she’s met with. “What’s going on?”

“Nothing,” Willie says from their position in front of Peony’s enclosure. They’re flanked on either side by Alex and Luke, blocking the others from being able to see their pet snake. 

Reggie gasps as panic overtakes him, “Is she… Is she okay?!”

“She’s fine,” Alex sighs. 

“You weren’t supposed to be home yet,” Luke adds, directing a quick look over his shoulder. 

“What’s… why are you blocking her?” Reggie asks. He walks toward them and the trio tighten up their formation. 

Julie makes her way around Reggie and stands in front of the others. “Move, please,” she says, less of a question than it probably could be.

“No, I don’t think I will,” Alex replies casually, crossing his arms over his chest for good measure.

“I assure you, you do not want to see what’s behind us,” Willie adds, silently pleading with his eyes for her to drop it. 

Luke directs his own puppy dog look her way and she rolls her eyes. “That doesn’t work on me, remember?”

Julie’s about to just push through them when Carlos speaks up from his spot by the door, “They don’t know how you feed it yet, do they?”

Everyone’s eyes widen at once and Carlos would laugh at the sight if he wasn’t halfway terrified. Julie and Reggie both round on him. Then look back at the guys. And then back at Carlos.

“Show me,” Julie insists, pushing between Luke and Willie. Her hand immediately covers her mouth in horror. Reggie’s at her side in an instant and his own jaw drops. 

“You… I…” Reggie stammers. His eyes turn glassy.

Reggie turns to Julie and the tears in his eyes seemingly grant hers permission to fall. 

“Oh, that poor little guy,” she cries feebly. 

Alex, Luke, and Willie exchange concerned looks. Alex wraps Julie up into his arms while Luke does the same for Reggie. They hold the pair as they let out their cries of distress.

“I told you this would happen,” Willie huffs at them, though any annoyance in their voice is belied by the fond look on their face. They can’t really fault Alex and Luke for wanting to delay this moment for as long as possible.

Carlos coughs out a bitter laugh, “Why do you think I didn’t want to do this?”

Julie’s lip wobbles as she turns to him. She doesn’t leave Alex’s arms but he loosens them slightly so that she can move. “I… I just thought maybe you were just weirded out by snakes.” 

Carlos rolls his eyes. “I told you I was never coming here again after you got it-”

“Her!” Reggie corrects forcefully through his own residual tears. He pushes himself away from Luke, wiping at his face.

Julie offers him her hand and he grabs it immediately.

Carlos corrects himself with another eyeroll, “Her. You thought I’d refuse to be here if I was just ‘weirded out’ by snakes?” Carlos accentuates the words with finger quotes. 

“She’s harmless!” Julie cries.

“Well, mostly,” Reggie murmurs woefully. “If you’re not small and adorable.”

“I’m small and adorable!” Julie pouts. 

Reggie squeezes her hand in silent comfort. “And squeaky,” he adds. “You’re not squeaky.”

Julie grins at that. “Not most of the time, anyway.”

“Anyway,” Carlos interjects from his position by the door. “I came, I saw, I’m leaving. You can find someone else to help with your weird pet. It won’t be me.”

The five of them watch him leave in stunned silence before Willie realizes that he’d probably not driven himself there. They run after him, stopping to grab the keys and slip on their shoes on the way. 

Willie just manages to get his second shoe on when Carlos pops his head back in the door. 

“Yes, I’ll drive you home,” Willie tells him preemptively.

“Thanks.” Carlos waves back at the others, “Bye! Good luck with…” he gestures toward Julie and Reggie, “that.”

He disappears out the door again and Willie follows him. “Try not to inflict any more trauma on them!” they call out as they shut the door.

“Is it… is she… done?” Julie asks with a small voice.

Luke hazards a look into Peony’s enclosure. “Well, as done as she can be for now,” he tells her.

“Do they have to be,” Reggie shudders and Luke wraps an arm around his shoulders, “alive?”

“We tried,” Alex explains slowly, “but unfortunately she’s a bit picky. We didn’t want you to have to see it.”

“So when Willie had that…” Julie trails off.

Luke turns to her with a sad look in his eyes, “Yeah, Peony snack.”

Julie takes a deep breath and leans her head back, holding back a fresh set of tears. She crawls into Alex’s sweater as best she can. He groans but doesn’t otherwise fight her. He even tries to give her some extra space. It’s an emergency situation and if anyone’s going to be granted the right to stretch it out, it’s Julie. He almost goes as far as offering to take it off for her but stops when she glares at him. 

After another deep breath, Julie speaks up again, “Okay, Peony snack. I guess now we know.”

“And you can tell us when it’s time to feed her and we’ll just make sure we’re somewhere else,” Reggie adds. He shudders, “Anywhere else.”

“But now we have to figure out what to do if we can’t rely on Carlos,” Luke says. “She won’t last our full tour without food.”

“I’m sure there’s somebody who can help. And if not, I guess we’ll just have to hire someone,” Alex responds with a sigh. They don’t yet make enough money to spend on too much frivolity and none of them will be very excited to lose what little they do have to a pet sitter. Even if it’s only once a week.

“We have time,” Julie assures them. They still have a few months until their next tour kicks off.

“Guess Luke had a point,” Reggie pouts. He quickly raises a finger and sticks it in Luke’s face. “Not a word!”

Luke mimes zipping his mouth closed but can’t mask the beaming look on his face. It intensifies with Julie’s giggle. 

“Who knew Carlos was scared of snakes?” she wonders aloud. Julie grins as she shakes her head in amusement, “You think you know a person.”

Luke sighs as he takes in their wall of tanks and enclosures, each housing a different pet that he’d somehow been talked into. “You say no to one dog,” he mutters under his breath. “How did this even happen?” he wonders aloud, slightly louder than before and Julie manages to hear him and laughs as she walks over to stand beside him.

“Peony loves her friends. And now she’s not lonely when we’re gone,” she tells him with a grin.

“She’s a freaking snake,” Luke mumbles. “How lonely can she get?”

Julie chuckles and pats him on the shoulder before handing him his guitar, “Well, think of it this way: now you have a built-in audience for rehearsals.”

Luke groans as he slips the guitar strap over his head, “Fine.”

“Could have just said yes to the dog!” Alex chimes in from his spot behind his drumkit and Luke glares at him. “But I do love Crush and Squirt, so thanks for that,” he grins at Luke and is met with another harsh glare.

“No more!” Luke insists as he settles in behind his microphone and nods his head toward Julie and Reggie to get themselves situated which they quickly do.

“Yes, Dad!” Reggie giggles as he nods toward Alex who counts them in.

[@/urfavdahyun] - yns best friend since they were in 8th grade. theyre basically sisters. dahyun is outgoing but thx to her job, she doesnt have that much free time. despite her busy schedule, she always finds time to hang out w yn. dahyun lives w her younger brother. no matter how many times hes said hes fine w getting his own place, dahyun still refuses bc she loves her brother very much. overall, dahyun is a loving and hard working person.

[@/whipandnaenae] - yns first cousin. yns dad is the brother of nayeons mother. though, they consider themselves more as sisters than cousins because theyre so close. nayeon is more on the shy side but once u get to know her, she’ll be more comfortable and energetic around u. nayeon is still in school and shes pretty popular bc of how pretty and cute she is.

[@/roses4rosie] - rosé met yn when yn and nayeon bumped into her at the mall. the three quickly became friends after realizing that they were all matching. rosé makes music but shes also very shy. shes honestly her most comfortable when shes around her friends. rosé works part time where dahyun works so they became friends as well !

[@/kariri] - karina was friends w rosé before rosé became friends w yn. karina met yn for the first time when rosé brought her along for one of their hangouts. karina immediately grew close to the group and now theyre a friend group ! karina is bold. like.. BOLD BOLD. she has no filter whatsoever. if she finds u annoying she will straight up tell u. karina is in college and plans on staying in college for a while.
