I gave myself a writing challenge and I am fascinated by it
So basically I put the robins in a randomizer to give them a new order/role (because I just...kinda wanted to see what would happen + I like role-reversal AUs) and got results that are giving me a fucking brain blast.
Stephanie, the first sidekick who defines the role
Tim, the sidekick who dies and comes back wrong
Dick, the sidekick who saves Batman from himself
Damian, the sidekick who was never supposed to be a sidekick but would go on to prove everyone wrong
Jason, the youngest sidekick who is still the Kid Wonder
...So this is fucking wild. I've got some ideas and several of these fit perfectly (Dick's role is pretty similar to his one in canon), but some of these are fucking INCREDIBLE to explore (Steph being the first Robin is something I never even considered but tbh I kinda love it).
I probably won't write a fic or anything because tbh I don't like publishing my writing that much, but I might expand this into a full AU and post about it. I might randomize other stuff too (ie, stuff that I cannot change vs stuff that I cannot keep the same) but this fucking rules as a starting point.

The parallels, in Imogen, who had spent years, and years, and years, running from the storm. Felt that fear in every inch of her and had fled it, for years. The only directive she ever had when the sky turned red, her only defense. Run. And only recently, so recently, had she started to do something else, started to screw up that courage to walk into it, to face it head on, to do something, anything, other than run. Sitting after a nightmare in the darkness with Fearne and Orym and Laudna around her, promising they'll be there, promising they'll help, promising she isn't alone.
The parallels to this battle, to her, running, her being quickest and cleanest to exit, heart in her throat, hoping against all odds they can get out too-
She's running, of course she's running, she's hiding, she hasn't left, not yet, but she's running.
And Orym falls.
Orym falls, and Orym was the one to put a hand on her knee and tell her, intent, urgent, that she wasn't alone. Orym, sweet Orym, who trusts her, right? To do good, to stay good-
And she stops running, and she gets angry, and furious, she flies up, she plants herself as a distraction, as a prize, demands STOP.
She flies into the eye of the storm.
(The eye of a hurricane is the calmest part. The rest of the storm rages on).
Far below, Fearne falls. Fearne, sweet and fickle and a matched pair with Orym, Fearne who watches her with worry whenever she wakes up shaking, Fearne, who wrapped a bracelet around her wrist so Imogen would know when it was a nightmare, so she could look down and know she could just wake up and be surrounded by them again.
(Is the bracelet still there? Would Imogen even want to look?)
Pleading, now, desperate, angry, negotiating- what do you WANT? What do you want. Her friends, her friends, scattered far below and hurt and broken, scraping themselves together and trying so hard to haul themselves upright, trying to give each other those last little scraps of healing. Trying. Trying so hard, so far, far below.
"I want you to give in"
(It felt wonderful.) (Maybe I should just give in.)
She doesn't give in, she doesn't. She fights. She attacks. She tries to give herself up.
"Is she your favorite?"
"Ill go with you! I give in!"
She tries. She tries. She tries to give up. She tries to give in.
Laudna falls.
Imogen doesn't give in. The storm takes her.
The storm takes all of them, by the end.

BEANIE ROOTFLOWER AU
So in this au, beanie was overtaken by a rootflower. A rootflower is a flower that appears on “living plants” which is the plant that appears on beanie. The rootflower creates roots that dig into the target, further spreading more plants. Beanie has experienced being taken by the rootflower, but she received immediate help from a friend by having it surgically removed and she had to wear an eyepatch for a week (not actually, just in the lore). The way you can prevent rootflowers growing is by spraying the living-plant with antidote, or if the plant has found a host, they must eat a pill. The effect from the spray/pill lasts for 2 months. Beanie forgot to take the pill, and when she realized, it was too late. The rootflower started out small and gradually starts getting bigger and more painful. If the host doesn’t get help in time, the flower will already be deep enough and reach the heart of the host and if there is an attempt removing it, the host will die. If the host doesn’t have a heart, the roots will entirely fill the host’s body and will be stuck. Beanie didn’t receive help fast enough and the roots managed to get to her heart.

Hi! How could you describe leon personality with the people he knows 🤍
Aww hi anon 💜 I think, like all of us, who Leon is depends on who he’s around. So what do you say we talk about some of the Bayern teammates he interacts with the most? I’ll also try to throw in a picture that summarizes his relationship with each one, like a mini picture book of sorts :)
Joshua Kimmich: Leon’s the order to Jo’s chaos, the quiet to his noise (when he hasn’t had his magic potion coffee, anyway). He’s protective with Jo while also giving him the space he needs to feel secure in himself and his role in the team. Leon seems to steady Jo, to ground him in a way no one else can. Their relationship is more than just Leon stabilizing the defense so Jo can surge forward and fuel the attack (or vice versa) though. It’s not reserved only for the midfield; their bond transcends the football world. It’s a partnership forged as much off the pitch as on it—one based in trust, tenderness, and mutual respect. After all, they’re business partners—We Kick Corona’s founding fathers. They even appeared on the German Who Wants to be a Millionaire? as a team. We may not know everything about their relationship, but the snapshots the cameras catch tell us a vivid story—a story of twin anchors taking turns grounding each other.
As is tradition, Leon Goretzka embraces his midfield partner, a gesture of recognition for the way in which they have helped each other thrive. In turn, Joshua Kimmich clings to him; the expectation that Leon will steady him through currents of passion remains unspoken.
Serge Gnabry: I’m almost 100% sure Leon and Serge love to annoy the shit out of each other, but at the end of the day, it’s all love, holding hands, piggyback rides, and strutting around Säbener like the royal couple they are. Serge didn’t call Leon his “kleinen Bruder” (little brother) for nothing after all ❤️ Leon has literally lifted him up before, but he isn’t afraid to knock him down a few pegs when necessary to keep him humble 😂
Leon Goretzka accompanies his best friend and brother, Serge Gnabry, on a stroll around Säbener Straße, Serge’s arm looped through his.
Leroy Sané: I feel like Leroy brings out Leon’s goofy side. They’ve probably known each other longer than Leon’s known anyone else on the Bayern squad, since they went to school together and played for their school’s football team. In other words, he’s not in as much of a “jaha” mood when Leroy’s around 🤣 That hardened shell Leon’s developed to handle the media attention cracks a bit, in the best possible way. That practiced seriousness melts away and leaves a genuine smile behind.
A passionate kiss on the cheek for Bayern’s number 10, the kind reserved for a relationship born in childhood and nurtured under the watchful eyes of millions.
Thomas Müller: I think Leon’s annoyed and amused by Thomas in equal measure. When I think of their interactions, the first thing that comes to mind is, of course, the classic Die Mannschaft video where Thomas says Holland instead of the Netherlands and Leon immediately snaps back with “Das ist auf gar keinen Fall richtig!” (“that is in no way right!”). I think Thomas wore Leon down in the end though, because Leon’s not afraid to tease him right back. If Thomas winds him up, he can expect that Leon won’t let that crime go unpunished!
Thomas Müller being his usual self and Leon looking off into the distance in amused disbelief.
Manuel Neuer: describing Leon’s relationship with Manu is a little bit trickier. Like Leon though, I like a challenge! I think Leon enjoys pushing his buttons a lot and tossing little jabs at him, trying to get him to crack. However, Manu’s not just any old Bayern teammate, he’s the captain, and as the overworked team mom, he’s used to dealing with the rambunctious, meddling kids that make up the Bayern squad. Whether Leon’s ever succeeded in winding him up is anyone’s guess, but what we do know is that the two are clearly close. After all, Leon’s addressed several of his selfies to him; not even Jo or Serge can say the same 😂
“Don’t hurt yourself, kid” Manuel Neuer writes to Leon Goretzka, one of the teammates under his charge as captain. If this exchange is any indication, it appears Leon’s attempts to grind the gears of his fearless leader have failed so far.

find the word challenge
rules: share snippets of your work containing each of the words the previous poster selected for you (optional addition: if you can't find the word in your WIPs, or you simply don't have any WIPs, you can just write a sentence around the word)
thanks @the-likesofus for the tag!! very excited to see how many of these words I've used...
my words are: quiet, hold, cover, first, together, and small. unsurprisingly, my fake dating au (currently sitting at almost 30k words like it has been for the past few months...) has all of these words multiple times lol <3
quiet
Buck’s phone rings, and he pulls it out of his pocket, his hands shaking when he reads Bobby’s contact name. He answers before he can even register it. “Pops?” His voice is quiet and terrified.
hold
Hearing footsteps from his spot on the couch, Buck tenses as Nathan comes up the stairs. It’s been so long, but Buck can still recognize the man’s footfalls. He lets out a breath he’d been subconsciously holding when Nathan finally appears and moves towards one of the armchairs across from him instead of the couch.
cover
“Jurassic Park!” Chris yells, and Buck has to cover his ears against the sound, the kid’s excitement causing him to be louder than usual. “Please, Dad, I know it’s kind of scary, but they just put it back on Netflix, and I’ve seen it before! Plus, I’m ten now, I won’t have nightmares!”
first
“I don’t want you to get hurt again,” Eddie says, meeting Buck’s gaze. His eyes are soft and despite his words, they shine with support, and Buck thinks—not for the first time—how lucky he is to have a best friend like Eddie.
together
Nathan’s study abroad had been nearly over when Buck brought up the idea of him going to Los Angeles to fight fires and help people. Nate had just nodded before taking Buck’s hand and kissing him, saying he’d buy the plane tickets in the morning. Buck had assumed they’d be going back together to be together.
small
Eddie glares at Chim when he insists on playing with the station’s small Hildy gadget that they keep in the kitchen. They mostly use it to play music, but Chimney takes the opportunity to ask her a bunch of questions throughout the day and only stops when Eddie threatens to run her over with a fire truck after Chimney starts asking her questions about the 118 themselves.
words for people I tag: home, care, love, make, and dream
no pressure tagging @mooshkat @jacksadventuresinwriting @ty-in-bedlam @lilbuddie <3

starts planning to get some writing done
someone in my group chat posts a 'put your name in here and get a pokemon generated for you' thing
does it and proceeds to post a mini analysis for the stats/type/abilities i got
spends two and a half hours doing in-depth ones for literally anyone who asks
So yeah that was a great two hours of writing! On the plus side, I did write. Like several thousands of words, even, I'm tempted to check exactly how many.
On the other side, oh my god that was too much braincell work. And not the writing I meant to do.
(They were all like, mini competitive things. I'm not good at the practice but I know the theory well enough, so I could assign team roles to people and also guess what sort of format they'd do best in. It was a hell of a lot of fun, though, so that's good.)
