Your lungs choking on smoke while you think: Yup this is it. I'm going to die young. Fresh out of college. On my first job where something in the office kitchen decided to short circuit and—

You're barely conscious when someone kicks down the door. Dressed in full heavy gear, large boots and a mask covering his face.

He picks you up like you weigh nothing, shielding you from the smoke and fire as he carries you out. The world is spinning around you as you're placed on the stretcher. Your eyes roll up as you wheeze. You can barely hear what the man—your saviour—is saying.

"—Oi! Don't die on me yet!"

He curses under his breath, mutters "Stupid women. Inhaled too much smoke." and rips his mask off. He pinches your nose and opens your mouth, engulfing his mouth with yours and blows.

One, two, three, four chest compressions later and you cough out loud. You gasp and wheeze desperately as your hand shoots out to grab on to the man's jacket, grounding yourself.

Your eyes were watering as you slowly opened them.

You stare at the large man with ruffled pink hair, deep maroon eyes, strong jaw and nose, staring down at you with a scowl.

Your lips move. You mutter something to him. You were too dazed to even know what you said.

The only thing you remember is his eyebrows shooting up in surprise before you slip into unconsciousness.

I truly cannot overstate how cool it is that Patrick Page’s injury is getting not only accommodated for in Hadestown, but worked into the character completely. His medical boot will be part of the costume! They are reworking the choreography for his dance with Persephone! And what’s even cooler is that this will be ON FILM!! Hadestown has been continuously making huge steps in theatre, but opening up disability representation and showcasing how disabilities can be accommodated in theatre is so important. This will be preserved on film and I really do hope it will open up many doors for disabled performers both in Hadestown and other pieces of theatre, musicals and plays and all the rest. I can’t wait to see how they incorporate this into the show and what it brings to Hades and his dynamic and relationship with Persephone. Patrick and Amber are both spectacular performers I’ve had the honour of seeing and I am so excited to see their characters evolve again alongside each other with this added level to Hades’ role. I could go on and on but it’s just so cool and Hadestown continues to be the greatest thing on stage

i think what pisses me off the most is that last year, nobody had trouble going against russia. companies dropped everything so they could keep russians off their sites, to block them from their news articles and to sanction in other ways. eurovision kicked it out. even steam, discord, any fucking western apps or websites have been so willing to perform in ‘activism’. musicians and celebrities speaking out and country-blocking their work, and so much more. but now what? where is all of that now for israel? where are all the brands leaving the country to ‘protest’? where is anything? what pisses me off the most is that none of them have actually really cared about ukraine, ever, and none of them care about palestine now.

Do you guys notice how when Shawn Fain, president of the United Auto Workers union, started planning a general strike, he did it by a) targeting his messaging towards unions with the ability to safely and effectively strike in large numbers, b) laid out a clear, actionable plan for those unions to follow (setting contracts to all expire at the same time, since many unions cannot strike while under contract), c) is using union contracts to set clear, actionable demands that can be met in order to gauge success and provide an end goal, and d) started organizing FOUR YEARS before the proposed strike date to give people the chance to plan accordingly, because it takes a really freaking long time to get tens of millions of people organized?

You notice how he didn't do it by slapping a message on Twitter saying 'hey nobody go to work on Monday, that'll really show 'em'?
