How the marauders era would run a nonprofit

Because I am bored and tired of running my own nonprofit

James: THE GLUE. The public image of the nonprofit and does all of the face-to-face talking. Has insane connections and an odd obsession with the process of getting 501(c)(3) certified (his dad works in business so he knows how the business end works). Has a lot of parent support. Secretly changed the Instagram password because he was tired of Remus' dry captioning.

Sirius: Chaotic but gets shit done. Does half of his work through his phone to the amazement of James and the disgust of Remus. Sends emails at 2am, hacks into his mom's zoom account for unlimited zoom time, and admins the nonprofit's discord server. Secretly the reason that productivity is steady. Always active in the group chats and never shuts up. Trying to convince the group to make a tiktok (its not working).

Remus: The mother hen. Keeps the website running, manages the social media, makes the spreadsheets, watches the email, you name something and he probably does it. Is late to every board meeting but secretly loves the thrill of being in charge of something. Keeps his camera off on meetings and always calls off of his phone, despite preferring his 4 year old broken laptop for every other task. A firm believer in podcasts and youtube channels to spread their cause.

Peter: Forced to help start the nonprofit but ended up falling in love with it. Always eager to suggest new ideas for outreach events and fundraising. His biggest secret is that he gets most of those ideas from scouring subreddits about founding nonprofits. Helps Remus with the website and is actually really good at graphic design. Shows off whatever random animal or bug that is near him while on virtual planning meetings.

Lily: Was passionate about a social injustice and dragged her friends along with her. Somehow does everything all at one and refuses to accept help until she is drowning in word. Actually a really successful leader and everyone loves her. Puts a lot of emphasis on volunteer work as a way to fight this social injustice.

Marlene: Lily dragged her into this but she's lowkey glad because she likes the cause and likes having something to do. Pretty lowkey, but will happily give a detailed explanation of the issue they're fighting and their solution when asked. Has the logo as a sticker on her MacBook and infographic flyers in her bag ready to be handed out on a moments notice.

Mary: The designated PR manager of the group. Will handle social media, the coding the website, and making spreadsheets but dies when faced with face-to-face connection and usually makes Dorcas come with her. Believes in the power of tiktok and instagram as a way to attract a younger audience and is right. Likes making everything fit a theme, and is often seen at a library printer fiddling with the colors and sizing of the newest infographic flyer the group came up with.

Dorcas: A casual supporter of the nonprofit but designed all of the graphics bc why not. Likes listening to Lily, Marlene, and Mary plan in the library and uses them as a background noise of sorts to study to.

Regulus: The nepo-baby. Has connections and experience and fucking abuses that shit (as he should tbh). Already on his second nonprofit but he doesn't care that he has to do twice the work because (1) he likes one-upping Sirius and (2) he likes seeing his friends excited about planning and leading such an initiative. His family wasn't too happy about him being involved in such an activity and tried kicking him out of the nonprofit (which he literally founded lmao) but Regulus said "fuck you" and ended up just doing it behind their backs.

Barty: In it because he likes seeing Reggie and Evan happy but also because his dad said it would be good experience for a future ministry job. Not too enthusiastic about their cause but into all of the logistics. Tries to see a deeper meaning to all of their moves, even if there is none. Insists on using Slack as their primary method of communication and organization because he used it once during a ministry internship and fell in love.

Evan: Also in it to see his friends happy but also because the cause is oddly really deeply personal to him. Literally carries the group chats in all outreach related discussion. If anyone so much as compares his nonprofit to someone else's or to another school organization, he gets super defensive and basically quotes the whole website in their face. Made the website, and is trying to convince Regulus and Barty to agree to starting a podcast and a youtube channel.

The Cuphead show is such a funny thing to exist.

That game release like 4 years ago, was a decent fad and then disappeared? It has a show that JUST came out. Why? Dunno. Maybe so that Cuphead fans could see moments from the game animat-- oh, no, thats not the case bc moments from the game literally are already animated in the exact style.

Plus I think Cuphead fans would've already moved on. Around 3-4 years ago.

So is this made for kids? Maybe, but given how frustratingly hard the game is I struggle to imagine anyone under the age of like, 15 being a huge Cuphead gamer.

Instead I think it's made for sad people. Those who play a game, like it, and can't move on with their lives. The kinda people who need a logo they recognize to consume something, regardless of how old that logo may be or how little it's affected them since the logo's creation. Could Cuphead the Show, be a perfect starting ground for anti-capitalist movement against being spoonfed repeated properties ever, or just another product we'll consume and forget. Until the next product with it's logo gets released.

Based on how many people seemed to like it I'm guessing the ladder. I won't watch it though. Because I stopped caring about this fucking property in early 2019.

Tropical Rouge PreCure Episode 33 Breakdown

Aight so this was the most crackbat episode of PreCure I’ve ever seen. It was basically a skit-show type of episode, and I was partially right in that one of the skits is Kururun’s dream. But I’m gonna discuss all the skits in bullet points n stuff now

All of the skit titles have “Tropical Shine” in the beginning, I just don’t feel like writing it out every time

1. “Tropical Samurai”

The Kurosawa-esque part

Their “weapons” are supposed to be comically long lipsticks, but the way they move them is… suggestive. Unintentionally, I assume (and hope)

It ends pretty abruptly after like 30 seconds, to my disappointment. Overall, not a very impressionable beginning

2. “Palace of the Dragon King” / “A Reward From the Turtle”

The Crayon-shin Chan-esque one with the talking turtle

This one’s kinda weird bc it’s split up into two parts, and there’s a joke at the end like “Oh it was actually 11 skits all along!” but I’m counting it as one

There are a lot of sea animals

I kinda forget this one already tbh. There’s a running joke where all the animals crowd themselves into the Natsuumis’ closet for some reason

3. “The Frightening Mansion of Delays”

This one’s actually pretty wholesome given it’s about the villains. Though that could be because this is Manatsu’s imagination

Chongi-re is a social media personality

Manatsu imagines Elda playing the same bunny game that Asuka was playing and I just think that’s so cute

4. “For the Dugong”

Got the ass end of this episode’s animation budget

Lasts like 30 seconds too. Pretty forgettable

The ultimate switch happens where SANGO AND CHONGI-RE AND LAURA AND THE YARANE-DA SWITCH and holy jesus i was not expecting that but that was funny. There are other switches but those were the funniest

6. “Yarene-da”

Bro. Bro. The meta-ness of this skit… I can’t. They really took the concept of “Why don’t the Cures just stop the villain before he creates the MOTW?” and animated it. I didn’t think a show like PreCure, which thrives on “letting them transform before they fight” would actually do this. I’m impressed, honestly.

This is one skit that’s short but effective as hell

7. “A New Pretty Cure!?”

CURE KURURUN???? AND THEY’VE GOT THEIR OWN TRANSFORMATION??? WITH BUDGET???? They really spent budget on a joke transformation that’s probably only gonna be for one episode lmao this is great

Their transformation background is the same as Summer’s too haha

8. “The Legendary HeartCatch!!”

Another funny meta as hell skit. This one makes fun of the long ass attack names and they go ALL OUT

The LUNGS of these voice actresses, jesus. Like how did they say that ultimate attack name without stopping for a single breath?

Like Manatsu, I can’t pick a favorite. All the attack names are great. But Minori’s was the most strictly tropical

The ending answers the age-old question “Why do the villains wait for the girls to finish with these long ass attacks?” That’s the neat part, they don’t!

10. “The Terrifying Haunted Bubble Picture”

I feel like this one may have been added in bc this is airing near Halloween

Kinda cute. Not as memorable as others but I liked blurry Kururun

Ok, like let's all admit it, it's pretty tame nothing to crazy; i do like it tho. Like all the things in the drums, the BB logo!! Is fun how both ichi and him have it but not saburo (I think) Super cute, I also like the guitars and all that. The fact that its pretty empty, is both a con and a pro; like nothing much too look at, but that makes it easy on the eyes. Besides its a nice reminder that Jiro likes to play the guitar which I dont always remember (sry 😅)

I really like saburos, definitely not my favorite, but It's very nice. I honestly like how chaotic and mean saburo can be; which is why i think the organ is a very good choice. After all, like we all know organs are super dramatic and they make very deep noices (as far as I know, lmao) which contrasts with the  light tones in his voice; also since they are so big and grandiose I feel like it goes well with saburos god complex. Also it takes a lot of space which saburo doenst really do bc hes small and a kid. Anyways very nice ;)

Jejeje, I looove samatokis speakers. I'm not gonna lie, it can be so silly and corny sometimes; like it's so over the top and it's so fucking big!!! Nonetheless, I like it. The blue really creates a great contrast with samatokis grey-ish palette, and I think that a giant fucking skull grabbing a coffin is very samatoki. Still, super space taking, and I would like if the speakers had something bigger to do w samatoki apart from the name.

15. carranger - the helmets are cute and all feel distinct despite being car-based. I love the black detailing on the chest, arms, and legs. I feel like it really makes the suit stand out despite having a solid colored body

14. ryusoulger - the helmets are extremely cute and they say “dinosaur knight” 100%. the asymmetry is charming too. I still don’t know why the symbol on their chests is the ryusoul symbol though

13. ninninger - the shuriken helmets fucking rule. even now I can’t decide how I feel about the women having thigh high boots but I like the black arms and the hint of black between the skirt and boots on the women. starninger having a helmet that’s a star and a cowboy hat is legendary also

12. dairanger - love dairanger. the top of the suit looking like a little jacket is so cute. I also love the dairanger logo with all five colors. this might be the first season chronologically where I feel like they really went off with the helmets

11. go-onger - the tires around the wrists and calves are truly inspired as is the seatbelt accessory. what I really love is the little stylized number representing their respective engine partner. the go-on wings fucking rule also

10. gokaiger - they didn’t have to make the gokai suits so good when they transform into other teams every episode but they did that for us

9. gekiranger - love the main three to death, especially the helmets. the kageki powerup is also perfect. violet and chopper I don’t love as much but they look pretty slick and definitely went all out with the martial arts theming so I appreciate them

8. dekaranger - the helmets are good esp how they light up. the stylized numbers on the chests are excellent. and this was our last series where the women don’t have skirts when transformed!

7. kyoryuger - love the helmets. they’re very stylized but still recognizable as dino heads. the little details that differ between characters like silver sashes on spirit rangers and sharp teeth only on carnivorous dinos are charming to me. there are so many dino heads on each kyoryu but they’re so stylized that you might not notice at first and I love that

6. go-busters - can we please have leather style suits again. they look so good helmetless as well as with the helmet on bc they’re almost clothes that people could wear. I can’t explain why but the colored gloves are a key element to me. beet and stag also look suitably different while still part of the team

5. boukenger - I love boukenger! the white stripe up the center of the body is so simple but it really makes them stand out. the helmets having built in headlamps which are actually used in the show is my favorite

4. kyuranger - the kyuranger suits are so good… the helmets are so fun and inventive. I love the subtle silver lines running along the body and the armored crop top. the unique details characters get depending on their species are good too except maybe garu’s fur. but they still look cohesive as a team

3. goseiger - highly cute. the look of belted high waisted pants/skirt really works for me. I love the helmets and how the animal motif is only visible from the side. my favorite is the emblems on the chest corresponding to each tribe which combine to form the goseiger logo

2. shinkenger - legends only!! the triangles along the sides imitating the line of a hakama are a subtle but essential element. the kanji helmets are also perfect. they’re so simple but they don’t need any extra decoration to work

1. lupinranger/patranger - they’re so cute! ever since the suits were first revealed I’ve loved the way the base suits for the lupins and patrens are just colorswapped versions of the same suit. the way the lupins have a bow tie on the chest is super cute and I like the patrens’ corresponding tie look too. the lupins’ helmets especially have personality to them while still clearly being top hats. lupinx and patrenx both rule also. noel hogging all the good suits

I saw something in the secret ending I wanted to point out. Before I get to that, I want to first mention how everything that’s animated is done like it is for a reason. Something a lot of people have pointed out already is the similarities of Sora and Neku waking up in Shibuya.

They didn’t have to show Sora’s eyes opening like that. Even him waking on the ground is shown in a similar manner. He didn’t have to look down at his hand (nothing is there after all.) But it is very similar to Neku’s awakening bc of it. Animation is choreographed. Everything is done for a reason. Comparing this to Riku waking up? Which is nothing special, just him sitting up into frame. Sora’s waking up was given lots of focus and detail.

You get my point. It’s on purpose. Even the smallest details could mean something. Which is kind of where I’m going here. The shot I do want to talk about it this.

It’s pretty obvious this seems to be showing parallels, opposites, the red vs blue, etc. I’ve seen all the discussion and agree with it.

Though I had an idea I’ve not seen other people mention. It’s mostly a Twewy thing, so maybe that’s why. And I’ve been playing the game a lot lately, even before KH 3 came out, so some details are fresh in my mind. The blue screen has something on it...why. Just some random background thing, maybe. But it stuck out to me for some reason.

But what if... It sorta looks like a logo for the Hip Snake Brand in twewy. I know it’s kind of a jump but...

Similar colors. And I wasn’t sure of this till I saw the faint pink star on the screen. It’s hard to see. The star is on a lot of Hip Snake Pins. Plus the blue/pink colors are similar to the main logo above.

So why did the thing on the screen have to look so much like this? With the lines and the star? It could be literally any other design? Why so similar to HS?

And I’ll say this right now. An advert for Hip Snake on the original game is very different. It’s pretty atrocious tbh. The thing in the secret movie still looks too much like a Hip Snake thing. That ugly rainbow advertisement doesn’t even resemble most of the HS pins. So maybe this redone logo is better suited for it. It looks way better.

I also saw two other screens in that secret movie that could maybe be two other brands. Jupiter of the Monkey and D+B. I’m not looking at either of those to prove anything though, since it’s really just sort of similar colors/styles that are just background screens given no focus. The Hip Snake one uses specific shapes/colors all associated with the original logo. That’s where I’m putting all the weight of this theory on. I think it’d make sense to see some revamped advertisements for the brands if we visit Shibuya again.
