You have no idea what exactly happened to the men with whom you had to contact for a variety of reasons that barely had anything to do with romance, but the more male representatives began to bypass you, the more hatred boiled up in you for the person who was probably the cause of what was happening. How many more times do you have to tell Argenti that you never belonged to him and don't want to have anything to do with him anymore, so that he finally leaves you alone? You repeatedly knock on tightly locked doors, trying to free yourself from the shackles that have tightly chained you to this man, but it all seems such a waste of time, because he will never hear you and will not understand your feelings.

Maybe he should just take you for himself? Yes, it sounds so terrible, and Argenti feels how the thoughts of your abduction make his heart ache, but how else can he prove to you that he is the only one destined for you by fate itself? If you don't see what he sees, if you don't feel what he feels, you just need time to understand that he is ready for anything for you.

But it's unbearable for a Knight to watch the time that you could spend together slip out of his hands like sand, so what choice do you leave him?

Finally he will be able to take care of you, finally his heart will be at peace, because you will always be there. Let your eyes fill with tears now, and insults and threats will come out of your tongue when Argenti touches your body, as before, but this is all temporary, right? The Knight sincerely believes that it is in his power to reawaken your feelings, and then you will be as happy as you were before, when your mind was clouded by unnecessary thoughts about the freedom that he deprives you of. Love is so cruel and requires sacrifices that Argenti is ready to make with you, but you step back every time he takes a step forward. Are other people really that important to you? Is his presence in your life not enough for you?

But you're perfect for him, even like this. Unhappy, scared and constantly crying. How he would like to see your smile again, and Argenti promises you and himself that one day it will touch your beautiful lips again, on which he will then imprint a kiss, which will mark a new beginning of your love, in which there will no longer be a place for anyone but you two.

So, about how I see Link Click's Lu Guang and Cheng Xiaoshi relationship:

As it stands in canon? Queerplatonic partners. And it's convenient for the plot that they're like this.

Because of Chinese censorship it can't be explicitly romantic, yes I know it. Let me tell why it's queerplatonic for me. The way these two have intertwined their lives and futures together?!

Owning a business and living together, that hint in ep2 (comparing them to the subtextually older lesbian couple who also came across as queerplatonic bc censure) where Xiaoshi wonders/fears if years down the line he and Lu Guang will separate/break up implying their partnership is for life as far as he's concerned (the parallel can be taken as a subtext romance too but follow me we're talking text), the way they were already going also on vacancies together three years prev in canon, etc...

Without entering on their complimentary powers and the way the dives need both of them if they want security in not screwing the past, and the inmense trust and vulnerability the dives themselves require?

They're not simply best friends either.

Those aren't the actions of normal, totally not queer friends. Cheng Xiaoshi checks out women on the dives, sure, (and men too when the host is feeling it which I love bc they can't address it directly bc censorship and then it comes across as Xiaoshi being super confident in his own relationship to sexuality/gender) but I don't think he would ever date bc Lu Guang is already there, filling that place in his life minus sex and romance but all that same companionship and intensity of feeling.

These two meet in what, the last year/s of High School and then proceeded to latch onto each other with a commitment reserved for romantic partners.

And I know you want to say, "it's the censorship! they'd be romantic and canon if not for the censorship!"

Are you sure? Are you sure the story would work if there were explicit romance in it? (I mean, if they could I'm pretty sure they would have nailed it anyways but allow me my a-spec delusions) Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang feel so much like an already established pair, they work like one, and Link Click is not about them coming together like many other stories. Are you sure this would work as BL?

There's a distinct difference on the way they start the show already like six years at least since they're best friends and three or two since they live together. That's not usually how it goes. I'm talking not just romances but every buddy or nakama anime/show, where the protag has to learn to work with who will be his best friend or rival. These stories usually have the same kind of plot progression as a romance which is why they work so well when you make the subtext text.

But a story where the main romance is already established and we're following a plot that has nothing to do with it? Much more rare, even stranger to find them well done although there are some very good ones and with the friendships instead of romo they're more common. For example, Soul Eater, which is all about the trials of it and how they hace to truly come to understand each other. That's Link Click a bit, but not even then.

Link Click juggling a budding romance between Lu Guang and Cheng Xiaoshi with all the other stuff is going on?? Messier for sure. I don't know if people would have liked it as much or if the donghua would have been as well done.

As it is, Link Click has the exact level of emotional connection between our protags it needs to have incredibly high stakes emotionally and at the same time not need a detour by romantic scenes/fanservice that would derail the plot or the other charas importance. That it happens to be pretty queer anyways in a platonic way?

Btw, I'm pretty sure in season 3 we're going to get more of Lu Guang's PoV, the origins of their powers and the past between him and Xiaoshi. It'll probably dig more into the aspect of "testing their bond and coming stronger bc of it" which is were the romantic subtext usually comes through...

—unless you're very very good at writing like Arakawa in FMA, who nailed the brotherly relationship without tipping into incest subtext which I've seen more than a few writers fumble. or the latest D&D film for the platonic childrearing and partnership for a no familial example between a man and a woman also very very difficult to get right for writers dunno why—

... but until then, for now I'm incredibly satisfied by the canon.

The other read of course it that they're already a couple since well before the start of season 1, and to mentally edit what we saw in canon with that lens (it wouldn't be very difficult honestly) but reading only the text? Queerplatonic partners!

There also how Xiaoshi and Lu Guang don't have that anxiety/insecurity of their bond that makes it so easy to read the want for something, like a romance for shipping purposes. Despite the disagreements on the Dives or the trials of season 2 or Lu Guang keeping secret Cheng Xiaoshi future/past death they read very steady which is fun. I love some good established relationship, you can go to deeper places when the base is already secure and the risk is higher for the characters. Plus I love domesticity! Yes, I do my angsty/Gothic leanings notwithstanding. Don't you know you need a home for the Gothic to be effective?

"Entertainment" and modern AI-fandom interactions

There's a 1985* sci-fi short story I once read by M.A. Foster called “Entertainment” that predicts what will happen in an increasingly AI-generated art world.  I can't find any excerpts or summaries of it online, but what I recall is:

In the future, humans can prompt machines to create any art -- e.g., "What would a collaboration between early-era Peter Gabriel and late-era Beethoven look like, with a music video directed by Werner Herzog?"  (That's a made up example, but someone originally gave me the story because Peter Gabriel and early Genesis are actually referred to in the text, and I was at the height of my fandom. XD )  An AI then comes up with a bunch of different examples, and the human who gave the prompt chooses the one(s) they like best.  They then release the creation to the broader world, and people make micropayments to stream it.  Everyone competes for attention, hoping to go viral or at least make a decent living.

(There's a dystopian aspect, where if you don't make enough money and your balance drops below zero, you disappear back into the human factory to get remade.  Also, people don't have sex in person -- they pay each other for the rights to their likeness, and they have sex with simulated versions of one another.  All of which is rather interesting, but not as directly relevant to the point I'm making here.)

M.A. Foster did an impressive job foreseeing a bunch of aspects of modern AI and online culture (especially keeping in mind that there was no Web or social media or digital streaming or online micropayments at the time this was written).   And it’s becoming easy to imagine that we may reach a point where many of the story’s predictions about art come true, as well.  

Currently, you can give increasingly complex prompts and get AIs to respond with something that makes sense and seems like a valid reply. Newer AIs often create text and images that are both exciting and terrifying due to what feels like a sudden potential to blend in with or replace human output.  Fandom, along with everyone else, is unnerved.  After all, will we still need fan creators in a world where we can prompt AIs to do this?

Okay, there’s definitely still some funkiness going on there with some body parts; cherik fanartists can still obviously do better, for the moment.  And more generally, AI output is still frequently goofy, full of embellishments and fabrications, literally tasteless, and/or flat-out wrong – but we can see so many promises of how good it will get.  And we can imagine how AI output will increasingly be incorporated into transformative fandom and shipping culture.  

But all of the above examples illustrate another thing that M.A. Foster got right: If you want AI to produce something really interesting and compelling, it's important to have a human come up with a good prompt and then select the best output. 

This isn’t new; for years, we have been living in an increasingly curatorial world.  For instance, with stock photos of nearly everything, and digitized versions available of much of the world's art and photography, and endless hours of new YouTube & TikTok videos uploaded to the web every passing minute, it's much easier these days to create new images or videos or other visual works without being an artist.  But building a compelling visual work based on others' images -- a mood board, edit, collage, fanvid, etc. -- still benefits enormously from being driven by a human with a particular sense of style and particular goals in mind.  And the more that any human wants to see something that is different from the most common or most popular images that already exist, the more likely they are either going to have to create it themselves – or at least push the AI really hard in that direction via increasingly specific prompts and feedback.  (None of these roles are unique to online culture, either – art commissioners have historically prompted things, and art collectors and museums have curated them -- but these days we all have access to a much wider world of online works, and we all curate our own tumblrs and pinterest boards and so forth, even if we don't explicitly create curatorial works for fandom.)

The thing I found most unrealistic about "Entertainment" was that people weren’t tempted to try their own hand at creating art; it was a purely remix + curation culture.  In reality, even if AIs get really excellent at creation, so good that their fic and art are as good as your favorite fan creators’ work, I don't think they're ever going to suppress our own creative urges.  We live in a world where there are already 313 Dean/Castiel high school AU hurt/comfort fics – and yet people were still inspired to write/update two more this week.  People are not going to stop creating new fanworks just because the AIs are increasingly able to join in and create more.  And, for some time yet, humans are still going to lead the way in creating new canons with compelling stories and characters, which machines will then learn from and remix.  (That is another thing that human artists have also always done -- drawing inspiration from and remixing one another's art -- and something that fandom in particular is pretty great at.)

TL;DR human contributions to fandom will still be very important for fandom for the foreseeable future.  Even if the internet -- and now AI -- have helped us shift from spending more time as solo creators to also having increasingly active roles as prompters and curators.

Okay actual ask now: How long does 1 page take on average if you already have an idea for the story, and do you have any songs/playlists you associate with this Heart of Stone?

Ok, first of all HHHHHGNGNGHHHHH /I'm just so happy people start to get interested of my comic/

And for the questions: 1) Honestly, I don't know xd Usually it depends on the complexity of the page, and how interested I am to draw it. I'm easy to distract. Most of the time my drawing process looks like: *draws for 5 minutes* *goes to YouTube to search for something to play on the background* *draws for another 5 minutes* *goes to check tumblr or something else or goes to search for another video bcs this one is boring* There are, of course, moments when I can draw for hours without rest when I'm really into some particular page or drawing overall, but it's rare. So, if to take the last update, I drew one page at a day, except for the last two which I finished in one day because I didn't have any other plans. It took me, maybe, a whole evening? Considering my statement at how easily distracted I am. 2) With this one I really tried to think about a playlist, but then I remembered that there is a playlist that I play when I draw the comic:

There's just something about the future turtles that gives me Horizon Zero Dawn vibes. Especially when I think of the future Donnie I always think about how he could easily take the role of Elisabet Sobeck in Horizon. Today is a day for books. Or one book, anyway. This is Close to Home, So Far Away, a Good Omens fic by Mercury Starlight. It's a memory loss/alteration fic with a lot of angst (for real, mind the tags if you decide to give this one a try) but oh my gosh, it's wonderful. Tasty tasty angst. It is unfinished but don't let that deter you, the biggest angstiest plotline is resolved enough to be satisfying. The last update was in 2021, so it's a pre-season 2 kind of angst instead of the new canon flavor.

I love the way the cover came out on this one. It's gold HTV on dark green book cloth and I'm in love with the simplicity. It reminds me of the very pretty books I find in used book stores sometimes, that have enchanting covers but are often either impenetrable to read, very fragile, or out of my budget. But this one is none of those things, it's exactly as compelling as its cover makes it seem. There were originally supposed to be more gold swirly bits in the corners but I made the lines too thin and my cricut ate them. I thought about re-cutting them but I liked the way it looked without them so much I just left them off.

This is a coptic binding, which is my preferred style for unfinished fics. The spine has no covering and no glue, so technically if the author decides to update it again I can cut the stitching, add more pages, and re-stitch for an updated book without having to make an entirely new one. The downside is that glue can help mitigate swell at the spine, and without it I had issues. I squished this thing for days, it got very flat, and it fluffed right back up again after stitching. The book is about 250 pages and I think that's the upper limit using the methods and materials I have. I want to try it again with short grain paper and see if that helps.

Downside to coptic binds: you can see right through them in between signatures, and when you're used to other types of books it sends a panicked "my book is broken!" signal to the brain.

Upside to coptic binds: pretty colorful stitches down the center of each signature. I love how the bronze looks with the green cover and the shiny cover lining. Because there's no glue in the text block you can't do regular endpapers here. I think this is called a doublure.

Title page, first chapter, and a new thing I tried. All the art assets came from rawpixel. The thing on the first chapter page is the extra swirly bit that was supposed to go on the cover. I think I made it too big here? I'm not sure. Graphic design is not my passion and I am learning it only reluctantly XD The last image is unique to this fic. There's a reference to a specific form in the story, which the author created and linked as a PDF, and I really wanted to include it, so I put it in an appendix at the end. I really like having it there and plan to incorporate more stuff like it in future binds, if I can.

no cus i totally understand your frustration, ive also quit splatfests for the moment until they get an overhaul

i suggest if you feel close to getting hateful to either shiver or shiver fans then maybe quit for a while for your own sake cus ive felt a lot better after doing so, im still really sensitive to negative comments towards frye or rude ones about shiver winning but taking some time for myself has made me feel infinitely better

ive been close to hating shiver before bc of how cocky and rude them and their fans can be but it doesnt really do anything but sour your enjoyment of the game more, so its really not worth it

i do have to say though, anyone who says "its just a game" reaaally needs to understand the frustration of people OTHER than them, sympathy is something a lot of people forget about when it comes to things that arent real life. just because it doesnt affect you doesnt mean everyone can shut off their attachment to the game or a character like a light switch; a lot of the time you dont know whats going on with them. i myself am really attached to frye cus i am hashtag autism creature and he brings me comfort, so anyone being rude to me about shiver winning really REALLY gets under my skin. its not entirely (if they were serious, if they werent then its not at all) their fault, but nintendo fixing the frustration of splatfests constantly keeling in one direction (which theyre supposed to do anyways but they havent) would definitely fix the issue. we need to find a way to have nintendo fix this, not attack anyone else for what bundle of pixels and text theyre attached to.

Never Living It Down.

To keep up with the maintenance costs of racing against the Metal Maniacs, Vert was forced to get a side gig. Sure, he made decent money winning street races, but between upgrading his car and keeping it working at peak performance all the time, his winnings simply weren’t enough. To remedy this problem he decided to start giving surfing and skating lessons.

At first, business was slow, but the closer it got to summer, the easier it was to find clientele. Most parents signed their kids up just to get them out of the house while school was out, others just wanted their kids to socialize more while also gaining a skill in the process. It wasn't long before Vert had obtained quite the client base. In fact, there were times when he had to turn people away because he just didn't have enough bandwidth to look after a dozen kids in the water without worrying he might lose one or two of them.

Towards the end of the summer, when most schools were starting to run classes again, he'd built up enough rapport with some of the parents that he’d landed a few babysitting gigs to hold him over for the rest of the season. He’d usually end up finishing up right before the Teku would be heading out for a race or a car meet. Tonight was no different except for the fact that he was running late.

The parents had gotten so caught up in all the banquet politics that they had completely missed their pick-up time. Vert was just about to send a courtesy text to Nolo when he heard loud and familiar music pulling up to his house.

The girls he was watching over that night were psyched about the colorful flashing lights coming from outside the windows, but Vert was horrified. He hadn’t told the crew he had started a babysitting gig, and worse than that, the girls, Tina and Laurie, had stuffed him into a WAY too small princess dress and had plopped a comically extravagant tiara on his head so that he could play princesses more accurately.

When the knocking at the door started, Vert momentarily thought about just hiding and waiting them out, but before he had a chance to slink away, Tina had sprinted to the door and swung it open with all the enthusiasm in the world. They would have to have a talk about opening up the door for strangers later… again.

“Vert, come on- we’re going to be… um…. Hello?” To say Kurt looked confused would be an understatement.

“Tina! C’mon, we talked about this!” Vert chidded as he scoped the giggling girl up into his arms. Laurie was right behind him, gazing curiously up at Kurt from behind Vert’s leg.

“He’s got funny glasses!” Tina shouted pointing up at Kurt. Kurt could only blink in surprise as Vert finally met his dumbfounded gaze.

“Yeah. He does, doesn’t he,” Vert snorted.

“Says the man in a tiara,” Kurt was quick to snap back, folding his arms over his chest defensively.

“He’s a princess!” Tina shouted, and Vert quietly reminded her about the existence of inside voices.

Nervous about having the door open for too long, Vert stepped aside and gestured for Kurt to come in. Hesitantly, he did, shutting the door behind him. For a moment, he just took in the scene in front of him. There were various Barbies and stuffed animals set up around a little table in the living room. A tea set, which he determined was thankfully full of water, lay abandoned in the middle of the table.

“I didn’t know you had sisters,” Kurt said finally, locking eyes with Laurie who was still silently staring up at him like she didn't know what to make of him.

“I don’t. These are my neigbor’s kids.” Vert playfully tossed Tina down on the couch which only made her laugh and squeal louder. “They’re stuck at some banquet. I’ve been watching them since six. Tina. Laurie. Say hi to Kurt.”

Tina waved wildly, while Laurie went to silently hide behind Vert’s leg again.

“Laurie’s a little shy, but she warms up fast, isn’t that right, little dude?” Vert prompted, patting the girl gently on the head.

“I’m not a little dude… I’m a princess.” Laurie gently reminded Vert.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

Vert had been so caught up explaining himself that he hadn't even heard the other car roll up. Hoping that it was Tina and Laurie’s parents, he made a beeline for the door and swung it open. No such luck.

Shirako, Karma, and Nolo all stood on his front porch looking just as confused as Kurt had been a minute ago.

“What the hell-“

“HECK am I wearing?” Vert worked fast to censor Nolo. The last thing he needed was for the girls to go home saying swear words.

“He’s a princess!” Kurt cackled from inside.

Karma raised an eyebrow at him.

“Look, I’m babysitting my neighbor’s kids, okay? Now come in before one of them decides to bolt out the door.” Vert said, ushering the rest of the Teku into his home.

Like Kurt, the three of them entered the living room with a reasonable level of caution. There were toys strewn out everywhere, and they also didn’t know how these kids would react to having three other people in the house. Positively apparently, because it didn't take but two seconds for Tina to drag Nolo and Karma over to the tea party table. Kurt had already been served a tiny teacup full of water by the time they were seated.

“Princess Vert!!!” Tina shouted, aggressively waving him over. “Your guests are here- they are ready for your royal speech!”

The Teku couldn’t contain their laughter as Vert straightened out the tiny princess dress he had squeezed into. Tina, of course, violently shushed them.

“Uh… Welcome to the tea party…?” Vert spoke hesitantly, and even Laurie shook her head.

“No!!! Use your princess voice!” Tina complained dramatically, pouring Shirako a cup of water, to which he thanked her quietly.

He was never going to live this down…

With all the poise and elegance he could muster, Vert sucked in a deep breath and pitched his voice up a couple of octaves. The speech, all things considered, was pretty good. Good enough to satisfy Tina at least. The Teku on the other hand…

Kurt had a hand clasped tightly over his mouth and was shaking with the effort it took not to laugh again. Shirako and Nolo were in literally tears as they listened to Vert’s beautiful tea party speech, and Karma was recording the whole thing.

Yup… He was never living this down.

About twenty minutes after Vert’s tea party speech, Tina and Laurie’s parents finally showed up. They were extremely apologetic for the late pickup, and tipped well because of it, but not enough to cover the damage to his ego he had suffered that night.

All the way to the race, that was all the Teku talked about. Not to mention the fact that they called him Princess Vert for a full week after the incident.

Nope. Never living it down.

👻 What is your wildest headcanon?

Not sure if this classifies as the 'wildest', but I imagine Toshiro doesn't really like any frozen snacks aside from shaved ice. Even then, he only has it during the summer when he needs to cool down, and otherwise doesn't go out of his way to have it. Most assume he must like frozen yogurt, popsicles, or ice cream due to the element he wields, but he finds both too sweet for his liking. If he's desperate and can't acquire or make shaved ice, he will have peppermint or mochi flavoured ice cream.

💥 What is one canon thing that you wish you could change?

Oh no, don't give me that kind of power! XD I'm not sure if it counts, but I would include a scene showing how Toshiro and Momo reconciled. As I have said time and time again, I think this scene is essential and should've been shown. Yes, it's not plot relevant, but my God, was it character relevant for Toshiro in the manga and Momo in Death Save the Strawberry! Even though I firmly believe that reconciled by the time of TYBW arc, a scene depicting this would confirm that it happened, and if not, what's stopping them?

How I would go about changing this is either including a short chapter in Death Save the Strawberry, but more likely, I would love to have a flashback when Toshiro enters the battle again Gerard. Picture it:

We have Toshiro flying to attach Gerard, but to that shot of Momo looking on. She say his name, clearly very worried and concerned, but hopeful, believing in the strength of her friend.

As she watches, she internally voices her worry, and how they had only recently seen each other, how they can't let it end to this.

Cut to panel of Toshiro and and the chapter title, and then, flashback!

We go through a quick montage of Momo in recovering in Fourth Division, showing everyone but Toshiro has come to visit her.

We get a few scenes of Momo and Shinji lifted straight out of Death Save the Strawberry, showing she is on her way to being better and accepting her new captain, but knowing at some point her and Toshiro will need to talk.

From there, you can go a few ways, whether it's Momo finally speaking with Toshiro or vice versa and reconciling, or ending with the two of them seeing each other for the first time since Aizen's defeat.

We cut back to present with Momo running away from the action, trying to get herself and Shinji to safety. The action gets a little too close for comfort, but Toshiro manages to bash Gerard away, protecting Momo.

Momo looks over her shoulder, briefly catching Toshiro's gaze. She's surprised by what she sees in is eyes. She thinks back on the gaze he had when they saw each other for the first time since Aizen's defeat, the guilt and despair they held, has now transformed into determination. As Toshiro gets back to the fight, Momo continues on, and though worried, her expression also holds confidence in her friend.

This entire exchange is done without words, just letting the images speak for themselves. If you really wanted to, you could have a few bits of internal text to really emphasis what's happened here, like 'You've changed since then...You can do this, Shiro-chan!'

Left camp to head back out into the darkness and make tracks for Baldur's Gate, and Gale wants to talk!

"I was supposed to sacrifice myself to stop the Absolute - yet I don't think I could have gone through with it, in truth. And I'm glad that I didn't, given what has come to light."

I was wondering about this, actually. We ended up leaving Gale at camp so we could bring Wyll to the Act 2 final battle; I was wondering if that encounter with the Elder Brain was where, if he was there, he would have to make his decision about whether to explode, or if that was an Act 3 thing. Seems like it was indeed The Moment, and we had him safely tucked away instead. :P

Luckily he doesn't seem too bothered about missing his chance the opportunity.

Hector has the option to interject here but doesn't take it, just listens quietly.

Give him a chance. (to speak, one assumes, although this option could be read as 'give him a chance to blow up' under the circumstances XD )

"The elder brain. But more importantly - the crown that it wore. Even without seeing it for myself, I could sense it. Netherese magic. So pure, so complete, that I doubted what I was feeling at first. Most Netherese artifacts contain only the faintest amount of their former power, the ghost of an echo of a memory. That crown was different. I can't fathom how such a wonder survived. Surely everything of its ilk was destroyed along with Netheril itself... but no matter. It exists, and I must learn more of it."

"What do you suggest?" Hector asks, because this is all rather beyond him and Gale is the one with the expertise.

"We need to learn more about what we saw," Gale says thoughtfully. "An artifact as powerful as that crown must have been documented somewhere. As luck would have it, we'll soon find ourselves near one of the finest book collections this side of Candlekeep - Sorcerous Sundries. I need to go there, and learn all I can."

Briefly Hector feels a sort of wistful regret that they are on the opposite side of the city from his monastery. Its book collection is also quite extensive, and he knows it like the back of his hand. But there is no time...

(A/N: I also misread Gale's dialogue briefly and thought we were going to go to Candlekeep and got REALLY excited for a moment. XD )

"Why would a Baldurian magic shop be the first place we look?" he asks curiously. He has not heard of this shop (or anything else in Baldur's Gate, really), but by its name it does not sound particularly erudite.

Gale laughs aloud. "Ha! Sorcerous Sundries is no mere trading post. It's been serving the arcane community for centuries. Their collection of rare tomes is unparalleled." He rubs his hands together eagerly, with the biggest smile Hector has yet seen on him. "Netherese texts are hardly commonplace, but I'm certain they'll have one or two stashed away. You'll have to forgive my eagerness, but if my suspicions prove to hold water, this could be the answer to all our problems."

His enthusiasm is infectious. Hector finds himself grinning too at the prospect of a quest to dig through the collections of a purveyor of rare historical tomes. This is far more in his wheelhouse than anything they have proposed to do thus far.

As they walk off into the darkness, he and Gale begin chattering excitedly to each other about old books, and Karlach and Shadowheart trail after, highly amused at the pair of massive nerds they are traveling with.
