thinking of accompanying a toman reunion party as ran’s plus one. you and him have been dating for years at the point, the rest of the gang were not new to you whatsoever.

mikey had persisted on throwing a secret santa for the party, insisting you joined in as well. after peer pressure, you gave in.

you were surprised to see ran holding out a small bag for you when it was your turn to get your present. of course, you took it as suspicious how your boyfriend turned out to be your secret santa. nevertheless, you took the bag from his smirking lips with a look of suspicion.

inside was an envelope and a velvet ring box.

you decide not to let your heart get too excited, not wanting to assume the best and be let down. so, you started with the envelope. you immediately cringed whenever you saw one of those cheesy romantic cards inside, ‘are you the grinch? because you stole my heart’ being worded on the front of the card. it wasn’t like he didn’t know it was cheesy, after all, he would constantly hear you joke about how bad cards were nowadays whenever either of you were gifted one.

“read it out loud!” mikey shouted, breaking the silence that enveloped the room.

“i’m not reading this out loud,” you immediately fought back with a small laugh, seeing how the inside of his card was just as cheesy and not at all like the usual nonchalant ran at all. despite it all, your heart grew warm as your hands grew shaky. was he really going to propose this way?

taking a breath after reading his written message about how he’s enjoyed the years together with you, you braced yourself and reached to pull out the ring box. it was eerily silent in the crowded room when you pulled it open, your heart stuttering until it immediately shattered at the sight of a ring pop tugged into the ring slot.

annoyed by his antics and the way he played with your heart, you immediately turned around to give him a glare, only to see him kneeling in front of you with an actual ring sitting in his hands.

“wrong ring,” he grinned up at you, immediately wiping away your earlier anger. “so…will you marry me?”

maybe you could forgive him for playing with your heart a little.

Something about Grian lasting months before he tried to summon Mumbo and Mumbo lasting less than a week without Grian before he tried the same. Something about Mumbo repeatedly trying to get Scar to help him do so.

Mikey and Leo episode centered around Mikey wanting to push Leo and Draxum together since Leo’s the most reluctant to give Draxum any grace (for good reason!) But, thinking on the spot, Leo says he’s gotta go do something for Hueso and “just can’t hang out right now 😔” (yes, he says the emoji out loud.)

Mikey calls his bluff and now the three of them (Mikey having grabbed a weary Draxum along) go to Hueso’s to find that yes, he actually does have a job for him. Said job asks for Leo to go with Hueso to deliver multiple pizzas to this giant yokai quite a distance away, and Hueso figured it would probably go better with Leo’s help (emphasis on probably.)

Well, Mikey decides that this would be a great bonding opportunity for them and basically invites he and Draxum along. Unfortunately for Leo, Hueso doesn’t care enough to wave away more help, though he does side-eye the wanted criminal Baron Draxum coming with them. But who is he to judge? (This choice has consequences.)

The journey goes about as terribly as you’d expect, but at least the pizzas get delivered on time.

can we. can we talk about how in the final lucien fight, Essek failed to resist the slow effect from one of the eyes (he rolled two natural 1s in a row). canonically, he was weighed down with with so much shame and guilt that he could barely move—the same guilt that he is seriously considering going back in time to undo—and he didn’t use his fortune’s favor reroll to try to alleviate it.

but he did expend his mote of possibility when he struggled to pull Caleb out from under a building. no hesitation.

so. so. was he saving his fortune’s favor for the mighty nein? had he already decided not to use it for himself?

homeboy really said “I would break the world to undo my sins, but I will bear them if it means you survive.”

the return of my dedede wedding headcanon

he likes to keep it lighthearted and sweet; most of why people like having him officiate is because of his charisma. he’s great at handling whatever situation and usually good at ad libbing. and he genuinely loves doing it because well. it’s a party and it’s about people caring for each other, what’s not to love?

(tbh he probably tries to hide how much he cries at weddings but he just really likes love lol)

I don’t think people realize how freaked out fanfic readers get when their favorite author(s) doesn’t update their ongoing schedule ON TIME.

And it’s not cause we want the chapter…it’s cause we’re so fucking worried about the Author.

Frostbite

A little gory/exaggerated but I actually like this a lot :D

I like the idea of the freeze being REALLY rough on the sole survivor, and there’s physical trauma involved that they have to deal with past the mental trauma of waking up 200 years in the future.

Damien gets pretty bad barotrauma from being frozen for 150 years, wakes up to see Shaun get taken, then freezes again pretty much immediately afterwards. It’s not like he could fully thaw in those 2 minutes it took Kellogg to open Nora’s door. So now Damien is deaf in his left ear, and he has trouble keeping his hands warm :)
