Nico Di Angelo is an absolute sucker for Will Solace. I don’t care how dark and edgy that boy comes off, he’s an extrovert and a hopeless romantic. I need less fanart of Nico rolling his eyes at being shown affection and more of him blushing like a tomato and savoring every second. You can’t convince me that once he realized he liked Will, he didn’t crumble like a sand castle at every interaction. He’s used to giving short, sarcastic answers to almost everyone, but the minute Will asks him a question, I just know he’s full of awkward pauses and stumbling over his words. For months, that boy was staring up at the ceiling of his all-black cabin with his hands on his face as he recalled every single second of the interaction out loud (side note: imagine Hazel doing her best to support him with a giant grin on her face the entire time) because he’s in LOVE. So yeah, less fanart of Nico being too cool for romance and more of him being the love-sick, hopeless romantic he truly is!

Anyway, this feels like a really good time to post a reminder.
If your trauma took place online, your trauma is valid.
If you could have prevented your trauma in any way, your trauma is valid.
If you got abused online or in any sort of situation that you could have "left", it is not your fault and it never has been your fault. It is always the fault of the person abusing you.
You are valid and you deserved better.

DPXDC Prompt #34
Season 4 Spoilers for Harley Quinn below
So like, I’m still a little mad that they killed Nightwing in Harley Quinn, so what if Danny is with her that night and he stops her from killing Nightwing… that’s it that’s the idea

btw if you dress in any alternative style and you make fun of people for dressing ‘basic’ you are just as bad as the people that make fun of people for dressing alternative. they’re just dressing in a way that makes them feel comfortable and happy, same as we are

jason and percy will always be character foils . they both face the same centralized conflict (duty over love vs love over duty), and represent how different upbringings and social standards will effect a characters decision making.
percy faces his conflict through the lens of a kid who grew up with abuse and learned to protect his loved ones with his life. his fatal flaw is loyalty. he struggled with putting duty over his loved ones and grew resentful of the gods that constantly forced him to disregard what mattered most to him over and over again. he had to learn to fight alongside his friends instead of taking the lead and fighting for them to keep them safe, and learned that balance by going to camp jupiter and becoming a part of the legion and fighting in an army, as opposed to camp half-blood’s looser fighting style. he learned how to take a step back and work through a plan by working alongside the roman demigods.
jason faces his conflict through the lens of a kid who was abandoned and had to learn to look out for himself. he was raised as a child soldier, a cog in the machine. he distanced himself emotionally from the people around him because he was raised on the mentality that his duty always comes first. when you’re raised to be a leader, everyone around you is just another piece of a bigger purpose. he didn’t connect to the rest of the seven at first because of this, leading to him being read as cold and uncaring. he learned how to share his burden in his time at camp half-blood, and learned the importance of putting the people he cared about over his duty because he finally felt cared for and supported by the crew of the argo ii.
they exist as mirrors of eachother, and neither of their arcs in hoo is nearly as impactful without the other. they mutually benefited eachother greatly when they became friends and “balanced eachother out” in a way. they both became stronger by learning from the other’s strengths

The incorrect grammatical hill I am willing to die on, even now as an English major and grammar teacher, is amn't. Amn't should exist. "Am I not?" sounds pretentious as hell; "aren't I" is grammatically incorrect and requiring me to say it would be a hate crime against autism. Amn't I makes perfect fucking sense; there is no reason it's not a word other than that g-d loves nothing more than to watch me squirm. The lack of amn't in the English language is a facade that we only cling to because higher powers have willed it must be so specifically to make me suffer.

It is so important that Wonder Woman is the tallest member of the Justice League. I will only make an exception for Martian Manhunter.
At the very least if Superman and or Batman is taller you are doing it wrong

This is so random but.. I just found out my childhood bestie is pregnant, we met in 4th grade, we were besties all throughout elementary, middle and high school until I moved away and we still had each others socials but we quit talking and then I found out from Facebook that’s she’s pregnant, like 7-8 months pregnant and she’s having a girl and I just feel so behind in life you know? Not even just because she’s pregnant bc truthfully I don’t want kids but other things I feel like I’m just behind in and it’s making me emotional and I’m not okay rn lol. Sorry for rambling but I needed to get that out for some reason and as I was crying your notifs telling me that you were posting popped up so yeah, I’m sorry
But on the bright side I’m excited for the next chapter of simmer 🩷!!
don’t be sorry babe. I cannot explain how often my friends and I have this conversation and go through that wave of “being behind.” i’m not sure what age you are, but as someone who’s thirty, I feel it all the time. my partner and I don’t plan to get married and we’re only now starting to make plans to try for a baby. it’s hard when society tells you that thirty is already so old and that’s the milestone mark for married, kids, mortgage and a dog, you know? especially when other people around you have those things.
but it’s also so, so important to look at what you have, what you’ve achieved. everyone is different, everyone wants different things. there’s no rules, no guidelines. we’re an entirely different generation and things quite simply aren’t as easy anymore. be kind to yourself, it’s hard, but don’t compare. love your life to make yourself happy 🧡

"There are no excuses." "If they just put in more effort, if they just find the right motivation, anyone can achieve success." "All you need to do is to put in the work."
...
No. That's not how it works.
Some of us can't do those things no matter how hard we try.
And it's not for a lack of trying.
...
Some of us try really damn hard.
...
But no matter how passionately we're driven, no matter how badly we may want it, we just don't have that skill.
Some of us are born with that. And we give them the world, when they already have so much more than the rest of us could ever hope for.
And some of us can't seem to do anything right.
No matter how fucking hard we try.
...
And we're told we're garbage. That we're useless. We're thrown away and tossed aside.
And we're given nothing but pain, despite working just as hard as they do.
...
But that's okay. Because success does not equate to happiness.
That comes from within.
...
Right...?
...
...
And yet.
If that were the case...
Why is it so damn hard to be happy when you're the only one who sees your worth?
Your opinion should be the only one that matters.
Should.
But it isn't.
Because you can't do anything you should.
...
Some people have to win the gold medal in the Olympics to feel like they've accomplished something. And the whole world cheers for them.
Some of us work just as hard simply to do a single essay. And we feel like we've jumped over just as large of a hurdle.
But no one cheers for us.
Instead of praise, all we get is disappointment and disapproval. Because "there's still so much more we have to do." Because we're just "lazy."
...
But a lazy person derives pleasure from not doing things. A lazy person is actually able to get up and do the things expected of them, at any time, but simply chooses not to.
We don't make that choice.
We don't enjoy it.
We beat ourselves up about it every damn night. We cry ourselves to sleep, wishing we were "better," wishing every day that we could possibly be good enough for them.
...
This isn't okay.
We need to change the way we look at people.
We need to not discredit just how hard even the littlest things can be.
We need understanding.
Compassion.
Love.
...
Not all of us are Niel Degrasse Tyson.
Not all of us are Olympians.
But we shouldn't have to be.
