The realest part of the Barbie Movie was when Barbie was like "okay but what if this hurts his feelings? what if this makes him sad? :(" after Ken stole her house, stole her car, and stole her agency, because as a woman you still have to second guess everything you do on the assessment of whether it might hurt a man's feelings.

It's like they are given the most blatant answer to a character romantic orientation and they actively ignore it. all the while all it takes is subtext for people to speak as if it is fact for a character to be any other sexuality.

Your legs wrapped around his waist. How scary! Being so high up in the sky wasn't on your to-do list this morning, and the quick speeds he was flying at only served to make it worse. Eyes shut tightly, arms wrapped around his neck, the best you could do was pray he didn't drop you.

"Settle down, pretty. We've landed." With flushed cheeks, Hawks gently patted your head.

Still holding onto him as tightly as you could, you shook your head, which was buried into his chest.

Hawks smiled at the action, finding your fear to be a little cute. So, no more heights — got it. "We're on solid ground, promise."

One of his hands begins carding through your hair, trying to help you relax. Honestly, he'd be happy to remain in this position with you, but you both had a job to do.

You were shaking like a leaf, trying to steady your breathing. The feeling of his gloved fingers in your hair did help relax you, finally pulling your head from his chest and opening your eyes.

Ah, it's quite pretty out.

A gorgeous sunset sat on the horizon, immediately relaxing you. Limbs no longer shaking, you quickly unwrapped yourself from Hawks' torso and stepped onto stable ground. Or stable roof, rather. Heights isn't your fear, but apparently flying is.

"It's pretty," you murmur, fixated on the warm reds filtering through the air.

Teasing lilt to his tone, Hawks replies, "Not nearly as pretty as you."

You spin to look at him with a smirk, and Hawks could feel his heart soar. He's used to flying through the skies, but the sight of you with your smile, surrounded by such a perfect view nearly took his breath away.

"Remind me to never agree to fly with you again."

Trance broken, Hawks chuckled at your words. "I might have to goad you into it. How else can I have such a pretty birdie cling to me so tightly?" His hands were shoved into his jacket pockets, signature charismatic grin causing you to roll your eyes.

"You could always ask, y'know," you wink back. Hawks would love to ask, he'd love to take you out properly. The idea of you holding him by your own volition almost makes him swoon.

"We should— "

"Are you in position?" sounds from both of your earpieces.

"Yes," you reply quickly and professionally.

Hawks frowns, eyes downcast as the flirtatious mood you two cultivated changes to something more serious and professional. Right, the mission.

He uses his feathers to silently pick the lock of the door that leads to the roof you two currently occupy. Saying nothing in his earpiece, he slowly moves the heavy metal door to try and make the least amount of noise possible. You can do all the talking; suddenly, he doesn't feel like it.

Dazai who knows he has no right to be mad, it's not something you can control, so instead he starts scheming 💀

Making you stand in crowded train carts with him just to brush up against his arm (better him than the creepy old guy on the other side, right?)

Speaking of, Dazai begins to adore crowds. Strolling down a busy sidewalk, hands brushing together, bumping into one another ("Sorry! That asshole almost bumped into me..."), pulling you close to his chest when you almost run into someone else, etc. He tries and succeeds with it all!

His scheming actually helps, as you begin to prefer trailing closer and closer to him. You don't want to inconvenience anyone or bump into them! Sticking close behind to Dazai begins to have its advantages (for him, of course). In line to grab coffee? His hand is on your stiffened shoulder to gently maneuver you through the crowds of tired business people and college kids, helping you duck and weave to pick up your order from the side.

"Ooh ooh, sit next to me!"

You hesitate. Maybe you aren't bright enough to realize the whole thing is a scheme, but you've definitely noticed how clingy he's been lately. If you sit next to him during this meeting, he'll for sure try and rub elbows and bump thighs, telling you he forgot his pencil so his hand can brush against yours as he borrows one (has he ever taken notes before?) and that's exactly what happens when you agree.

It works 100% 💀 not only do you prefer being near him, you begin seeking him out! A couple shoulder brushes isn't gonna "fix" your awkwardness towards touch, you still freeze up if anyone else tries to tap you or something of the sort... but now you know what it's like. You have a better idea of how to react when Dazai touches you, and that feels so nice. Hands brushing together becomes hand holding, a simple wave goodbye becomes a quick hug, and next thing you know Dazai is pulling you onto his lap during breaks at the agency. Overwhelming you is the last thing he wants, so when you sit on his lap and rest so close to him, he tries to keep his hands to himself: no enveloping you in his arms and trying to cuddle, but occasional pats on your arm as he bends around to grab something.

He knows when someone is a little uncomfortable or awkward and the last thing he'd want is to make you feel that way! (At least... ADA!Dazai who has befriended you... imagine yan!dazai who keeps pushing your buttons just bc he likes to see you squirm... ugh i hate him) So even though he works to push your boundaries, he makes sure to take it one day at a time :)

i think really the reason i have such a strong reaction to people who claim that they "hate men including trans men" is that pretty much all of them still have cis men in their lives. like they have cis male friends or cis male family they still positively associate with and cis male colleagues or theyre dating cis men but they DO NOT associate with trans men, theres not a single transmasc person in their circle or who feels comfortable with them because its obvious that they hold trans men to a higher standard than cis men, and its just like. youre not a misandrist at that point. youre just transphobic. like maybe youre not transmisogynistic and youre "just transmascphobic" but youre still transphobic and the lengths youre willing to go to accommodate the cis men in your life while accusing trans men of transitioning to get privilege over women and being "gender traitors" is disturbing

My aunt is very sensitive to strong scents (buys my deodorant so that we know it won't harm her, because other than a couple brands, they give her migraines, we don't have scented candles, and I have a couple of perfumes, but I never wear them), so we're super careful there, but we also can't go into some stores because the perfume counter is Right There. When we go shopping, she knows to look for me in the candle aisle because I'll stand there sniffing each candle and giving a review to whoever is with me at the time

do you actually view nonbinary people as non-binary or as binary people too scared to come out

this is a wild thing to ask someone who’s very openly not binary. like what even prompted you to send this? even if you didn’t know that i’m not binary trans, what have i said that would lead you to think i don’t believe in nonbinary people? is it just the fact that i’m a trans man and talk about being one on here? because sometimes it really feels like that’s all it takes for some of y’all to just assume i hate nonbinary people, as if those are mutually exclusive categories (which is ironically an exorsexist assumption in itself).

anyway, if it needed to be said, of course i view nonbinary people as nonbinary. it would be very silly of me to feel differently given that i’m not a binary trans person myself and that most of the trans people i’m close to in real life are nonbinary. i would strongly encourage you to ask yourself what it is about me that made you feel the need to ask me this in the first place.
