She holds Logan as he clutches at her, short shaky breaths wracking his frame as he presses his face deeper into the crook of her neck that's wet with tears. His devastation has tears over her own coming to her eyes, but she refuses to let them fall. She rubs at his back, hoping to soothe him, make the shaking slow to a stop.

“It’ll be okay, Lo.” She coos, when he finally takes a shuddering deep breath, lungs burning for air. He shakes his head and his grip on her becomes impossibly tighter and the response makes her now clutch at him. His desperation for her to be closer, worrying. “It will be. I promise.” She can feel his lips move across her skin as they form words, but she can’t hear them. But then he’s repeating himself and the words don’t come out so quiet and pressed to her skin she can hear them. They come out in a desperate sob. “Don’t leave me. Please don’t leave me, baby.” Tears spill down her cheeks as his desperation for her to be so close makes sense. “Never.” She tells him and it sounds like an oath, a promise, a vow. “I’m never leaving you, Logan. Never.”

Slowly as they stand there, holding each other, they both stop crying, the skin of her cheeks and neck drying. His body no longer shakes from sobs and panicky breaths. The third steady intake of air that he manages makes her squeeze him tighter and she coaxes him into the bathroom.

Turning on the tap, as she waits for the water to get warm, she urges him to lift his head. The sight of his face, a blotchy red, eyes puffy and tear tracks all over it, makes her heart clench painfully in her chest and she presses her lips to the delicate skin under both of his eyes, to the tip of his nose, the spot on his jaw where he cut himself shaving yesterday before she runs a washcloth under the tap, letting it get damp before cleaning his face. His eyes never closing, just looking into hers as she cleans him up.

She gives her own face a quick passover with the washcloth before tossing it onto the counter, turning the tap off and moving them both back to the bedroom. It’s easy to slip him out of his shirt, pants, boxers, and even socks. It’s harder to undress herself. Logan immediately whining when no part of her is touching him. And she doesn’t think she’s ever gotten undressed so quick, his need for her touch, fueling her.

It pains her, but she doesn’t immediately gather him back into her arms, instead sliding under the covers of the hotel bed and then lifting it for Logan to join her and he practically darts under. His warm bare body against hers makes her shiver.

He’s quick to nudge himself between her legs, settling in the cradle of her hips so he can easily rest his head back in the crook of her neck. One of his arms going underneath her back, while the other goes more underneath her shoulders. Her own arms wrap around him, hands resting on his back as they move up and down, reassuring.

Tomorrow her body will hate her for letting him rest completely in between her thighs, the stretch will be too much for them and her hips but she knows she won’t regret it. Can’t when Logan is making that little humming sound in the back of his throat from the contact, his breathing deep and even, his own body warm and the weight of him on top of her comforting.

“I love you, Lo.” She murmurs when he finally drifts to sleep, thighs already aching but she ignores the stretch of pain in favor of the small puffs of air that brush her collarbone and the way sleep calls her name as well.

The thing that gets me giddy is the fact that Logan goes from "Do I know you, bub?" to "WADE! You don't have to do this!"

*Wade playing with baby knife, flipping it in his hand*

Logan: can you stop that bub.

Wade: you know I can't get hurt by it, right?

Logan: yes, I'm aware but it's stupid

*wade ignores him and flips the knife, he doesn't catch it and it cuts down his palm*

Wade: oops

*Logan gets up and grabs the unused first aid kit even as the cut is healed*

Wade: what are you doing, honeybadger?

*Logan grabs one of the dinosaur printed band aids (who bought these) and walks back over to wade, putting the band aid over where the cut was*

Logan: consider it a mark of shame for being fucking stupid

Although very brief, I really really love the portrayal of Logan’s Weapon X breakout scene in X2. i love how it shows how nightmarishly awful this whole situation is for him. The fucking trauma of it all. His agonizing scream and the fact he looks absolutely horrified by the blood and the adamantium claws.

dbf!logan being the only person available to drive you to your gynecologist appointment while your car is out of commission. the car ride is excruciatingly painful as the older man tries to strike up conversation with you that’s clearly one-sided. there’s even a point where he asks you what the appointment is for, and you almost don’t answer him, but you also don’t wanna be rude so the words gingerly leave your lips.

“pap smear,”

you watch him nod out of the corner of your eye, one hand on the steering wheel, arms nearly bulging out of his white tank top. the familiar stench of alcohol is ever present with this man. the tension between the two of you grows tighter.

“sorry i asked,” he says, almost comedically to ease the obvious weirdness in the air. “i don’t have any kids of my own. i never had to, uh—“ he clears his throat. “deal with any of this, so…”

“mhm,” you say.

once you two arrive at the ob/gyn office, you swear you’ve never felt more relieved to be at a doctor’s office.

“do you need me to go in—?”

“no,” you answer, unintentionally cutting him off as you hook your bag onto your shoulder and crawl out of logan’s car.

“should only be half an hour or so,” you tell him. “so, i mean… you can hang out here, or… i dunno. don’t want you to be just sitting here, haha,”

“you can just call me when you’re done and i’ll be back here to pick you up, ‘kay?”

you press your lips together, rocking back and forth on your heels as your hand rests on top of the car door. “yeah, i’ll text you,”

logan shakes his head. “call me instead,”

you stand there for a moment more. “okay. thanks again,”

“see you in a bit, bubba,”

Thinking about Wade just... being normal(?) For a day. Doing house hold chores, watching shitty live tv, goes out to walk Puppins, showering with no smart remarks.

Yes, he still hums and taps on stuff, but it's much.. calmer.. now. In the sense that he doesn't want to cause a scene and would rather just be left alone right now.

But then... when he gets out. Surely he's going to be his silly self and say something, right?? Right???? Wrong.

He just... sits there. Boredly looking at those free magazines that you find sometimes at doctors' offices. The ones that are like "Home improvment for your loved one with dementia" or "50 dinner ideas for someone with diabetes"

Logan just blinks after watching him all day and goes "...Are you okay?"

Without a beat, he awnsers pretty monotoned. "I can't be manic all the time. That's just stupid to think." Before realizing he said it outloud. He perks up and starts laughing. "I mean- Yeah I'm great! What about you, Tiger?"

Again Logan just stares, blinking some as he tries to process.

"....How long have you kept up that act..?"

"I don't know what you're talking about, pumpkin!" It was like watching someone trying to impersonate themsleves.

"....Wade.."

"What is it cupcake?"

"...You don't have to do that."

"Do what? Gosh your so silly. My silly little sunflower."

Logan just stares at him for a bit more and quickly he panics, swallowing and starting to say anything he can to make him believe it was a joke but he dosn't believe a single word of it.

"...its not an act.. is it?"

It eventually ends with wade running out of excuses or things to lie about. He sits there, tears starting to run down his face as he thinks of words to say. You can see just how desperate he is to say something but he can't seem to get it out.

"..I....I-i."

"I know."

Wade just looks at him with this big scared eyes as if he was about to accuse him of faking or telling him he liked this wade better or something terrible like asking how to keep him this way but Logan pulls him into a side hug.

"...are you okay?"

His throat tightens, shaking his head. "..no."

"That's okay." Turning to give him an actual hug, Wade cries. Not because he's sad though. But because to Logan, it doesn't matter how high or low he was on the chart, who he was or how he acted. He loves him. He understands that acting like a crazy childish phycopath isn't a mask but rather who he was sometimes. And sometimes he prefered to silently lay his head on his shoulder.

Eventually Logan asks him if he has a personality disorder and Wade just shrugs. "Probably.... is that an issue..?"

"No.... do you want diagnosed?"

Wade pauses, remembers the last time he asked for medical help and shakes his head. "Nah... I'm good.. besides. I've come to like him."

"How long has he been in there?" Logan playfully knocks on his head and wade giggles a bit. A genuine true laugh. "I don't know. Probably forever.... are you sure it's not a problem?" He bites his tounge, waiting for the "because I like him better" but it never came.

"Why would that be a problem? Sure, you're a pain the ass but you're my pain in the ass." He says, mindlessly sitting for a second before quickly saying "DON'T-"

As wade is on the brink of explosion from laughter and some smirky comments.

I don't care that deadpool and wolverine isn't the next citizen kane because it isn't trying to be. deadpool and wolverine is a movie that is purely wholeheartedly and unabashedly 100% fanservice that literally only got made because hugh jackman thought "I really want to see these two interact" and ryan reynolds said aw hell yes. the plot is secondary; if you go into the movie focusing on story beats and plot holes and camera angles you're not going to enjoy it very much - this was a movie made purely by fans for fans (and i love that hugh jackman and ryan reynolds clearly had as much fun making it as people did watching it!). in an mcu where every show and movie and plotline has to be tied up in some ridiculously epic "saving the world" grand scheme with stakes that they keep trying to make higher and higher each time it is so REFRESHING to see a movie that doesn't bother with all that. deadpool and wolverine came here to HAVE FUN. i'm so glad this movie got made
