dude i think about this all the fucking time. he’s such an expressive character it’s awesome. you can always tell what’s going on with him just by observing his body language

beginning of the series? before everything goes down? he’s open, relaxed. he’s really started to trust the people around again after years of not letting himself

you have him closing himself off after The Incident™️, his anger and frustration, and generally not feeling safe being on full display without needing to say anything

he closes off when he’s worried, scared, or being protective of the people around him

and he opens back up again once he starts getting comfortable with everyone again

i just. i love him so much, i love how no matter how hard he tries to keep people at bay. keep things to himself. he just. can’t. he’s an open book and boy howdy am i reading it

So I see a lot of people headcanon Zane as super tall, which I love, however I raise thee:

Zane USED to be super tall in comparison to the other ninja (like in season 1-4ish when they were all teenagers) but now that they are all adults (Dragons Rising) he’s actually kinda short.

Like he definitely isn’t the shortest but some of them have definitely surpassed him in height since, you know, his body is modeled after himself in S1-3 and he can’t really. Age. But everybody else can and he hasn’t really needed to be completely rebuilt since he died so

Like you could definitely say that since he has gotten repaired/upgraded he might’ve used that to kinda mimic aging [which is also incredibly cool]

But I think this is much more interesting

Honestly I’m not sure where/who to talk about this with but I’ve been thinking to myself after watching both seasons I kinda like mr b more in season one? Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed the mr b//scudlertron scenes in both seasons, but for some reason I think mr b (and also scudworth) are funnier/better in season 1. I don’t know if this makes sense but like what do you think… am I just fuckin crazy or

I literally have no better way to describe it .. they kind of made him less silly in season 2.. they tried to focus a lot of his humour on shock / weird shit and kind of abandoned him in other places (like a lot of episodes in season 2 he didn’t play a role at all, or if he did, it wasn’t exploring his character in a way that wasn’t LOL NUTS AND BOLTS LIKE HIS BALLS) and it’s kind of :/. Idk. Yes he was a lot more of a minor character in season one but he was a lot more . sweet and just a funny guy. don’t get me wrong i love how much attention he got in season 2 (especially episode nine AGH) and the crazy shit him and scudworth got up to but they did not capture his small sweet robot butler energy like in season 1….

It’s weird . Also visually he looks a bit different and i miss the cute and janky looking screenshots of him. There are quite a few where he just looks Silly looking and i miss it 🥺

Dunno if this is what you meant but this is kind of what i’ve noticed??? but don’t get me wrong i do love all of the development he got in episode 9 and other cute little bits./. but it is not the same!

Now I don’t have like, a solid canon basis for this, it’s literally just my fun hc, but I like to think that on some level Atsushi is the book. Like, if you’ve ever watched Dr Who, in one of the specials there is a weapon that’s so powerful it develops its own consciousness, and I just think with the way Atsushi is the supposed wayfinder of the book, in DA shibusawa said he was the envy of all abilities/users, and he said his own regenerative ability doesn’t heal wounds but negate or rewrite them, I just like to think it would be kinda cool if he was a manifestation of the book itself
